Professor Naehrig is one of the best math professors I've ever had. Usually classes move too fast and the textbook is a terrible way to try to learn on your own, but she has actually rewritten the textbook and uses it as her lecture notes. This way if you miss class, you can easily catch up. Her tests tend to run long, but are very straightforward.

There are pop quizzes but they are short and open notes. She doesn't use the book but the HW is based off it. Her lectures go by fast and its the same material as her online notes, except with more thorough examples. I'd recommend going to class to understand the material better because notes alone sometimes aren't clear.

Uploads lecture notes to Piazza, so attendance isn't mandatory, but helps clear things up. Moves super slowly at first, but it helped hammer the essentials into my brain for the more complicated stuff. Quizzes every Friday, drops the two lowest quiz scores, offers extra credit on midterm, final, AND homework. Definitely recommend taking her!

Does problems in class and kind of just assumes that you know the in between steps. My TA was mediocre at best. By far the worst part about this class is the grading system. They set the median grade to a 2.9. It doesn't sound bad until your class median is an 87 and all of the sudden a B+ is a 2.9. Take any other prof, they have easier medians.

Good lecturer. She used a system with four relatively easy quizzes instead of exams, which I appreciated. She employed a contract grading system - which was somewhat confusing, but allowed for any dedicated student to get a 4.0 by putting in the effort and retaking quizzes. There was an annoying amount of busywork assigned. Easily reachable on Ed.

Dr. Naehrig is an amazing prof who truly cares about student learning & success. I had her for Math 124 Au22 and loved her then. It was great to take another class with her now. She is a great lecturer and is easy to reach outside of class for extra help. She made it possible for anyone to get a 4.0 if they were dedicated enough.

lectures teach nothing, she makes you do problems in class. i'd rather be taught and learn later than on the spot, especially when it's really difficult to understand where she's at. like why are we using polls for attendance and to solve within 3 minutes... i took professor pierce for math 112, it was perfect... this class, not so much.

Prof. Naehrig's classes will ask you to engage in the material, but provides a fruitful and simple path to a 4.0 if you do.

She is so bad at teaching and literally gets confused by her own questions and makes the class hard with the overbearing amount of homework that she gives out separately. For someone who is completely new to calculus, I found it difficult.

She is very caring obviously, as evidenced by her generous grading policy. Algebra is a very abstract subject, but she does a good job of explaining it in a simple enough manner. This course is not easy, and it does require a lot of work, but at the same time it does feel rewarding. Its actually also pretty fun-i liked algebra better than analysis.

She was amazing in multivariable calculus. Don't listen to other people telling you she's bad. She does make mistakes here and there, but she corrects them really fast, and she responds quickly on Edstem as well. Just pay attention, and you will succeed 100%.

The content covered in class are basically just how to use formula and theorems to do calculations, and exams are much too easy. However, I want to learn more through a more challenging class. What she did was not enough. She is a very nice and responsible person though.

Naehrig was an excellent prof for 224. It was a reversed classroom style, so we worked on homework problems in class. Attendance wasn't required, but it definitely helps, and she gives extra credit for doing the poll everywhere. Two midterms and a final with a cheat sheet. Midterms went amazingly. Naehrig is super understanding and a fun lecturer!

Her class model won't work for everyone but most of us this quarter greatly appreciated it. It was shockingly easy given the advanced content of the course, and I definitely had an easier time grasping concepts than in any of my past math classes. If you can take a math class with her I'd highly recommend it.

Midterm medians were 90, 95% respectively. Professor naehrig is extremely caring. I would place her exams on the easier side, but if you do away with the desire for grades or a curve, you walk out of class actually having learned. Low homework weight, high emphasis on being active and engaging with the material.

As a mathematics major I would say I wanted to learn more about the math side of the content i.e. more proofs, while Prof. Naehrig hardly explains proofs of those theorems. But she is generally a very caring teacher, you will succeed in her class as long as you put in effort. The flipped class also makes much sense.

One of the better professors in the math department. Cares about students, and exams are generally easier/test only on fundamental concepts taught in class. Homework is generally light, lots of examples given during class.

Professor Naehrig is excellent. She carefully prepared videos before class to ensure that students learned the material. The lectures were very accessible outside of class time. She meticulously ensured that everyone could watch the lecture. You can earn extra credit if you actively participate. Midterm were easy, final can be a little challenging.

Would ask us how we feel about topics. Communicates with her class. Went up to her after lecture handful of times, and she always seemed to care and helped out. As always, the math classes are rigorous, but appreciated her as prof.
