Is very encouraging of her students. Is always available for extra help.
was heavily pregnant and treated students like morons
Great teacher, had lots of office hours and encouraged students to take advantage of that. Plus...she has a funny accent and the hot clothes she wears made it all worthwhile.
Encouraged student to think for themselves and lots of office hours
Told everyone the first class the half of us would fail
WASN'T IMPRESSED AT ALL. A 50% CLASS AVG ON A MIDTERM IS NEVER A GOOD SIGN.
Good notes and seems to care about her students. slight accent but not so bad that you cant understand her. RELATIVELY fair tests. THIS IS A HARD COURSE so no matter who you have youll have trouble but she simplifies things and shows the easy way to do hard problems.wish she taught math115
She talks way too fast and I always had to guess how she got to the answer she did; she does so many calculations in her head that you're not aware of. She treats students like they're stupid when they don't know an answer. It is possible to do relatively well in this course if you work very hard.
she knows her stuff so she is a very hard instructor becasue she can't see why the class may not understand math
i was afraid to ask questions or approach her b/c when others did she made them look like a fool for not understanding, didn't show enough work to understand how she got to a certain problem, dway too much material to realistically know in four months, talked too fast and bc of language difference she used wrong word making it difficult to understad
Don't take her class if your are not good in Calculus to begin with.
If it weren't for the textbook we'd be up the ganges without a bamboo ore, hard to understand that thick russian/ukranian accent. She's a very nice person(pretty hot too), and has lots of office hours.
sexy body, too bad that doesn't teach you linear, in her class it's the textbook that does that. Also she tells you how stupid you are when u don't understand because "When i was in Russia ......"
A pretty good instructor. Very helpful and approchable during office hours, and clearly has a passion for the material. I found the exams pretty tough but your milage may vary.
Kinda boring
Nice body. Hard tests. Lots of office hours. Overall good class.
Not a bad teacher for a more difficult linear course. She teaches the most difficult theory, but when test come around they are very easy. Test tend to be easier because she beats the crap out of you in labs making test seem much better.
She really understands the material that she's teaching. Her exams reflect the assignments, so it's fair. However, if you feel that you should have gotten a higher mark, talk to her and she'll most likely give you a few marks.

useless piece of**** teacher i'm going to fail my midterm because of her horrible teaching ways.
Unfortunately she's a nice person but frustrating as an instructor - rushes through material, leaves it incomplete (you have figure it out). If you ask a question she often says "we don't have time", or she sighs as though it's a complete hardship. Out of almost 40 people who started in the class - less than 20 remain.
Absolutely useless. She can barely speak english and expects you to know everything as soon as she goes over it. No patients and gets frustrated when asked questions. Worst teacher i have ever had.
She wants to be a cool and friendly prof but really doesn't seem to know how. Her examples are half finished (or mostly done in her head...), the homework is unrelatable to classwork, and her midterms are too long for the time given. Tough to understand, especially when speaking quickly, because her english isn't great. Maybe shop around a bit...?
I thought she was a fine prof. Maybe it's because I enjoy math though... who knows. She covers everything you need to know. The reviews of her are somewhat biased because mostly commerce students take this class and are not that interested in math, which is understandable. But she is a good prof if your are one of the rare nerds like me.
Explains the concepts thoroughly. However, when doing examples, skips steps assuming that we know them. Low patience with those who don't understand what's going on. Easy exams. A bit hard to understand.
knows what she is teaching; gives lots of examples; exams are not hard
This class is manageable. You have to keep up with her notes. Tests are fair, the biggest thing is study from the examples she gives during lecture, they are the closest to her exam questions.
This teacher is OK-at best. Without prior calculus experience, I would suggest another instructor or get a tutor. She uses too many physics-based examples without doing them entirely. Her drawings were unnecessary for most of the topics, and she is a BRUTAL MARKER deducting everywhere. The accent isn't a big deal, but definately DON'T MISS CLASS!!!
No doubt about it she is smart, she does assume you know how to do everything and doesn't seem to have much patience for those who ask too many questions. She is somewhat difficult to understand but you will eventually get used to it. Not recommended unless you are very good in math!
diffenitally knows what shes talking about but assumes you do to. Little patience for questions and skips steps in examples. there is also know writen form of how to do the question all you have to work off of is the examples and a textbook that explains things different than her. accent isnt a huge deal but it does make it more difficult.
She's definitely hard if you don't know what you're doing in Math. Recommended only for those who know they're math otherwise don't bother. She does assume that you know what you're doing especially at this level.
She's definitely hard if you don't know what you're doing in Math. Recommended only for those who know they're math otherwise don't bother. She does assume that you know what you're doing especially at this level.
She does a good job teaching in the class, but her tests are terrible. My last midterm with her was out of 18 and she marks hard. She needs to figure out how to create tests and how to help a student so that he/she understands it instead of simply doing the question for them. Not recommended at 99 level.
I wouldn't recommend taking her 114 class unless you took math 31 in high school, bt if you have a good understanding of material already you don't even have to study.
extremely helpful when need help.
Well, actually I think she is a pretty good professor, and I have to say that some of comments are really unfair about her style of teaching.I think some students just don't work hard and always blame their failure on the professor.I personally think her notes are clear, and the examples she give will always be reflected in the exam!
Don't take her class if you have a weak background in Math. You will regret it.
She assumes everyone has taken math 31 in high school and therefore goes really fast through her examples and skips steps or doesn't explain what she did. Really easy to get lost in her lectures. Her tests often don't reflect her lectures. Teaches different from the textbook. Overall, don't take her class unless you have a good background with math
I took math 31 in high school and that's what saved my mark, I wouldnt recommend her to anyone who has never taken calc in high school, or who doesn't have a strong understanding of math, there are much better math teachers, her notes aren't the best I used a friends notes from a different class. Overall I'd try to stay away.
Not a very good professor. Terrible at explaining things and expects everyone knows everything already. Would highly not recommend.
Pathetic. When you ask a question she gets upset, and criticizes. She cannot explain a thing clearly. Please! Stay away from her class, especially if you haven't taken Calculus before. Take another professor, any professor, and join Nataliya's lecture once, and you will thank me when you run out of there. I left each lecture more confused. Run.
If you are taking calc with this prof just go over math 31 notes, or calc on the internet before attending her class. If you do not have a highly mathematical background, then I would suggest not taking this prof in general. I do not believe her tests are hard, however people think they are hard because she literally does not know how to teach.
Not a good experience at all. Only thing saving me is that I took High school calc. She expects you to already know everything and constantly skips steps in showing her work without explaining it. Not to mention one of the hardest markers on earth, if you're looking for someone generous with part marks do not take this class.
only take this class if u have taken calculus in high school or else you wont do well. she doesnt explain well and most of the stuff i had to learn myself.
Very Good! Especially if youve taken calculus in high school! All her examples that she gives are practically identical to what she asks on the exams. As long as your understand all her examples and the thereoms, her exams are a breeze. Very nice lady
Can be very condescending and rather rude at times, but she knows her stuff. If you do the homework and come to class and try you'll do well. Review the problems she gives you in the notes as the final is basically the same questions, just different numbers.
Knows what she is talking about but assumes you get it right away "it's easy see!" NO.. you showed a completely BASS-ACWARDS way of doing the problem. She thinks what she is showing you is an "easy" or shorter way of doing things but its lacks the theory that makes Calc. make sense. Not impressed!
Nataliya was a decent prof. She knows her stuff really well, just make sure you ask questions in class and you should be okay. Her exams were alot harder than the homework assignments were or the examples she did in class. I would take another class with Nataliya in the future if the opportunity presented itself.
Avoid her. When you decide to go through your notes prior to writing a test, it's impossible to understand what she did from one step to another. I went to another prof's class before the final and it REALLY helped. Bottomline:avoid her, take math w/ someone else. Also, she marks tests very very hard and deducts points even when its not necessary.
Hard to follow her notes and exams especially when trying to study for exams. She is hard to understand and the exams are much harder than the assignments. Very strict and a little rude. Glad I'm done calculus!
Natalia knows her stuff. As long as you come to class and pay attention you will do fine. I would strongly recommend not taking this class if you have not taken math 31 because she does at times assume that you know things. She expects you to work for your grade so no easy marks.
Nataliya was barely understandable in her lectures, she reads way too fast and doesn't even know what she's saying half the time. If you don't sit in the front row, you'll likely fail. As I almost did and I had honors coming out of high school. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
She has a poor accent and expects you to know everything in class. If you go to her for help, she will tell you to find the answer from textbook. She is RUDE. Try to avoid her classes... She is a horrible teacher and doesn't respect students.
She makes the class tough but if you put in the time and effort you can still do well. I didn't take calculus in high school but I still did well in her class. Her exams are tough but you'll get a good mark if you study hard. Do lots of practice tests and review your homework questions. Don't expect it to come easily even if you are good at math.
She really expects you to already know a lot. Her examples in class are either way too simple or ridiculously hard. She constantly skips steps and just expects you to know what is happening. Her tests are impossibly hard and her "reviews" consist of her just telling the class we should know how to do things because she "taught" us. Avoid her class!
I would strongly recommend having a calculus background from high school before taking her first year calc class. She blasts through all the pre-requisite stuff and expects you to know a lot already. I took calc in high school (with an 85 average) and this course was definitely tough. Do not expect this class to be a breeze with her.
Worst prof ever!! You can not understand her lectures because of her accent and she gives the worst notes. You have to teach yourself the course or get a tutor. She was unclear and made you feel dumb because she would always say 'this stuff is easy, I can do it in my sleep.' It sucks that she is pretty much the only into calc prof.
Her accent isn't bad at all. I personally found her lectures mostly clear in the moment, but there was a lot of difficulty connecting her lecture notes with the homework. By the way, every week had like 10 minimum questions due for submissions in her dropbox at a specific time with no room for negotiation. If that's cool with you, then go for it.
She is probably the worst teach I have ever had in my whole life. She deems that everyone has taken calculus in high school or should have taken it. She is not helpful when you go to her after class for help. She makes you feel bad when you don't know how to do 1 question, she always says "This is easy, how can you not do it?"...
Nataliya was very helpful and clear in lectures. She knew what she was doing and liked to answer questions. She was a great prof that i would take again!
I am an engineering student so the homework is basically normal and not that difficult. She is willing to help you with assignments in her office. To the people that say you need calculus from high school to do her class, you must not understand that it is absolutely necessary! When she says something that you need to know, you memorize it.
Her lectures are difficult to understand since she goes through the material quickly and skips a few steps to get the the final answer. There are only two midterms, the homework and a final, so the weight of each exam is heavy. Her practice exams do not go over all the things you learned in class, only some with some trick questions to boot.
She is rude, and she expected me to know how to get the answer. She gives us a few minutes to work on a question and then she doesn't explain how to get the answer; she only puts the answer on the board and I was expected to know how to do it all on my own. (THIS IS JUST MY OPINION ON THE CLASS)
Worst prof I've had so far, very rude. I took Math 101 with her and it was the worst experience. She messed up marking on the midterm and when there was a line up outside her office for marks appeal, she gave everyone a different mark. At the end, I was only 0.2% away from a whole new letter grade but she refused to do anything about it- heartless.
She's enthusiastic about what shes teaching but sometimes skips steps which become really confusing as to what shes teaching.
Nataliya cares about her students, no matter what anyone else who is in lower level math courses say, she does. If you ask a question she may think it is trivial but give her a break, shes a math prof. Your question probably seems dumb to her. But she will still do her best to answer it. 214 is jam packed, so be ready to keep up.
She expects everyone to understand what she's teaching so you have to put in a lot of work to learn what's going on at home (unless you're really into calc). She gives examples but sometimes hard to follow along. I found midterms to be tough. I would only take her class if you have a good prior knowledge of calc (math 31) and find it easy.
She expects you to have taken Math 31 in high school, so her explanations are pretty broad. As someone who dislikes Math (and is only taking this class as a requirement), she is very tough, and if you can, avoid her class.
WORST teacher I've ever had, DO NOT TAKE MATH114 WITH HER
I found her very hard to understand, and she does not like to go over concepts. If you skip, you will possibly miss an entire chapter, and she is not very nice if you ask questions. Very strict on deadlines, and her tests are insanely hard-- our average for second midterm was failing... Would not recommend.
If your lazy and your looking for an easy teacher, well she is not right for you then. If you are ready to put in some effort and attend each lecture, then you will LOVE Nataliya! Yes, she has a little accent, but you get used to it pretty quick. She covers A LOT of material in one lecture. Midterms were easy, but final was a bit trickier.
She has horrible writing. Does not answer questions asked in class properly and shuts you down. Her in class explanations are very unclear as she does not even label the topic. I am coming into this class taking math 31 and had a very difficult time following what she was doing on the board. Writing is atrocious, would avoid this prof at all costs.
Professors notes are messy and she does not label her topics on the board. I often have to attempt to decipher her writing. She does not explain the way she obtains answers. She expects you to have taken Math 31 in high school, I took Math 099 and that did not help me in her class. If you skip a class you will for sure miss 1-2 chapters. Stay away.
Hardest class by far. Worst part, every midterm prep hosted by Rob 90% of the people there were from Nataliyas class. Then someone would ask a difficult questions and his response - "I would never ask a question like that. But if you're in Nataliyas class you should be prepared." I think the class started with 120 and ended with 20.
I feel as if she went over material too quickly, always rushing it even if students didn't understand it. Instead of her doing a review session where we only ask questions before the exam, I feel we should have taken it slower through the material. She is a very tough exam grader, the slightest mistake and you will lose most of the marks.
i had to drop - only class i've ever dropped. I have always been a 85% average in math all throughout high school but didn't take calculus. I am good at math but could not learn with her. IF YOU DIDN'T TAKE CALCULUS DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. she DOES NOT teach! I went into Rob Engel's spring math 114 after and was the top 2 throughout.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! She is the worst prof I've had so far. She goes over material too quickly and expects the students to know everything! She's also a super tough grader!!
Hard to understand but actually teaches really well. You have to practice lots outside of class. The tests are pretty much the examples she does in class and some from the textbook. Practice tests are almost identical to exams.
High expectations and no explanations. That's what I got from this class. She's too quick and messy with explanations when teaching. Her tests and assignments are difficult and do not reflect her teaching. And she is rude, every time I ask a question or tried to get help she was condescending. Honestly, do not take her class. Her attitude is bad.
If you haven't taken Calculus yet, RUN. Her test is fair and is a reflection of her lectures. The practice test is similar to her exam. However, her explanations are not always clear and complete. Those who struggle with math and/or have not taken Calculus, please avoid her.
Her lectures are really hard to understand. She could be helpful with answering questions though.
She was amazing and her lectures were interesting too. She is accessible outside the class as well. She would definitely help you if you are putting effort.
I took calculus in high school and finished with a 89% but she confused the common sense out of me. Don't know why but she consistently messes up while doing practice questions on the board. Her midterms were hard and she is a very tough marker. Also she reminds me of Aunt Becky from full house lol.
Nataliya is a good professor who cares about the success of her students. She is good at helping visualize what linear algebra looks like graphically which was useful for understanding concepts. She moves fast through the material but the course is packed full. Our section finished one day before the end of classes, other sections were behind.
Got an A+ in Math 114 and 115. Now i am taking her class and barely passing. Difficult to understand. Also, puts questions on the text that she said previously were not going to be on it.
Shes very good at explaining concepts and very willing to help if you dont understand. I learned way more from her than I ever did in math 30-1. Attending lectures would help explain a lot more but it is not necessarily needed. We only ever needed the textbook for assignments, everything else is online. I would love to have her again
Her teaching style involves grabbing her iPad and sitting in the corner of the room and doing problems on it while mirroring the screen to the class. Doesn't walk around and engage students or write on the board. If you can, don't take her.
Hard to understand because she is not able to communicate information very well.
Her notes are very organized. She is a good math prof because I can feel that she want her student to be successful in her class. Her notes are helpful but you still need to study hard for her class. Her class is very clearly and logically so her exam is not easy. Don't be afraid to ask her questions but we need try to solve it before we ask.
Probably the worst professor I have ever had! She goes through the material very fast during class. I always reviewed the material before class to ensure that I would be able to follow her work because she likes to go through difficult examples. But by the end of the lecture, I was left confused about the material that I thought I knew.
Horrible teacher, chooses to fly through lectures at lightning speed and does not explain content. Quite honestly, her tone is condescending (perhaps because shes a communist (maybe)). Not good for after hours or review session! Zero stars!!
Only had one mid term, which was worth a ton, so if you have a bad day your grade is tanked. Her response to the online classes (due to COVID-19) was to just post her lecture notes and have you teach it to yourself. These notes do not have any explanation of what she is doing to solve the math problems. 0/10, do not recommend
Wouldn't recommend her for calculus to anyone. She wouldn't write on the board, only her iPad and her notes were hard to follow, especially when I looked back at them. When classes were switched to online due to COVID-19, she expected us to teach the material to ourselves by looking at her notes... prof Leonard on youtube saved me lol
By far one of the best profs I have ever had. She explains things a variety of ways and always makes sure that we understand the material before moving on. She is always available during her office hours and more than willing to help. She was also incredibly lively and genuinely pleasant to be around. She made coming to class really fun.
Her main problem is that she can't communicate very well and is very condescending. Her notes are organized, but make no sense without the context of drawn-out, poor, lectures. I would NOT recommend taking her class if you're skill in math is average or lower. If you are in her class I would recommend dropping it in favour of other sections.
I hated her class. She gave me 0 for my quiz because I did not click submit. Dont take her class. Drop and take another prof.
Lazy. Just lazy.
DROP DROP THE WORST PROF AT MACEWAN BY FAR She doesn't explain anything skips though all the important things and then they show up on her tests where part marks are possible to get. Always makes it seem like she knows everything but makes mistakes in her lectures. If you try your best you will be lucky to get a B. Extremely hard to understand.
Do not recommend Natalia, do not even think of taking her class unless you want it to be your misery though out the whole semester. She doesnt record most of her lectures and does not care about the whole Covid situation. Her tests do not relate to her material whatsoever. She would spend more time telling us not to cheat rather than teaching.
Accuses you of cheating for not showing enough work. Her lectures are just really crappy videos that you can hardly hear or see. Much less helpful than educators on YouTube.
Homework Assignments most weeks, just questions from the textbook, therefore the textbook is required. And Quizzes in this class. Personally I like to watch youtube toturials etc and teach myself in this class so no comment on the way she teaches im not sure about that... I would't say there was a overload of work though! Pretty reasonable.
She taught by doing practice questions over and over which I found helpful and her tests were straightforward if you understood the material. I got a 90 on the exam however the quizzes throughout the semester were worth 60% of your mark and only given credit for the final answer being correct which made it quite difficult.
Difficult to understand because of accent at times. Don't take her unless you have to tbh, she does not care about her students whatsoever. 0/10
Most condescending and rude teacher I've ever had the displeasure of having. Only shows problems related to the unit rather than actually teaching it. If you take this class get ready to teach yourself basically everything. If math is not your strong suit you're going to have a horrible just like me. She is extremely unhelpful if you're struggling
Awful, most rude teacher i've experienced. She expects you to teach yourself by giving you the most basic knowledge, if you're not good at teaching yourself DO NOT RAKE HER, she doers not go out of her way/class time to help students.
The class consists of 7 assignments 5 quizzes and a term exam. The Class was hard to follow as she would over-explain certain aspects of the course and not have a set plan in her online lectures. I would not have gotten the mark I did if I didn't take Math 31 in high school. She will answer your questions but tends to give attitude when responding.
Strong accent, but overall good calc proffessor. I had no issues, and if I needed help, she had office hours where she would explain things more in depth. Obviously, you will need to do examples on your own to fully grasp the material, but overall a solid choice.
I took her class cause of the few good reviews but I shouldn't have. Shes not understanding at all and shows attitude when asked simple questions. Be ready to teach yourself or have taken math 31.
Basically had to teach myself everything, which makes things difficult. I personally would never take her class again.
A lot of assignments so gives you a chance if you bomb one but at the same time be ready to teach yourself. Youtube videos helped me, prof doesn't explain everything and expects you to know the basics. Overall I would not take this class with this prof again.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Thank God I took math 31 in HS, if you didn't take that then find a different prof for this class. She does not know how to teach or explain anything, she is smart but not a good educator. Strong accent too, which makes it even harder to learn.
she is such a professor is really bad don't take this course with her
not that great she heats religion belief's
Definitely not my favorite teacher. If you have her class hybrid like I did, be prepared for 2 year old pre-recorded lectures where she decided to trap her pet parrot in her room with her. If you are able to cope with a parrot squealing every 2 minutes, a thick accent, and poor teaching in the online lectures, than this teacher is for you.
I would love to give the university my receipts for my YouTube premium subscription. At least YouTube has more up to date videos. Be prepared if this class is online/hybrid you will be watching the same videos I, and 2 years worth of students have also watched. I do not recommend her as a prof, do yourself a favour and pick literally anyone else
She sucks at teaching she should not be a teacher
first two weeks of class sounds very good, you will do examples and when assignments comes there would nothing you could solve don't take her not good professor
Most of the issues with the course weren't Nataliya's fault. The assignment TAs were lazy and took off several marks if you didn't match the solution, but Nataliya typically fixed this. Nataliya did go into a lot of detail about everything and she certainly does want to set you up for success. The online lab component did seem superfluous, however.
easy grader
Still in the middle of this class, but took 115 last year with her and I really liked it. She explains things really easily and she's very passionate about MATH. I'm surprised her rating is so low on here. I wish she was teaching 215 next sem because I would take her for sure. I even switched into an 8AM with her this term because she's so good.
If you enjoy deciphering hieroglyphs then her class is great. Her notes are so messy, she skips 5 steps between problems and it is impossible to follow along between all the skipped steps and thick accent. Her quiz is a bunch of "gotchas" where instead of having normal difficulty questions they're a bunch of tricks.
Like the way the course was set up - 6 quizzes (3 online) + 1 final. Gives us students enough ways to get a good mark. Personally did not like her teaching as I found it hard to follow along, and got lost often because she goes so fast. Professor Leonard on youtube helped a lot and was much better at teaching the concepts of the course efficiently.
Was honestly not that bad of a class. But the online portion was gruelling had to watch multiple 40 minute videos. Quizzes are not bad. Practice questions are very hard and almost impossible.
I took Math 114 hybrid, and the lecture videos are awful. She has birds, and you can always hear them in the background, making it difficult to focus. The quizzes in class, she talked through it, once again making it difficult to concentrate. She also used Crowdmark but made us upload pictures of the quizzes- in an in-person class.
Dr. Zadorozhna is not a great teacher. I'm currently in her MATH 114 hybrid class, and it's been challenging. Her 4-year-old COVID pandemic videos (40 min) with her parrot squeaking in the background make it difficult to listen. She skips steps as if we know them and doesn't explain clearly; her accent makes it more difficult. I would not recommend
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU WANT A PROFESSOR TO TEACH YOU!!! One class per week, only an hour of an actual lecture, then the rest is group work(???). Doesn't print quizzes out; you have to continuously look up at the board to see the question. No homework for extra grades, only relies on 6 quizzes and the final. Does not explain things properly.
Professor Zadorozhna is a very nice lady but has a thick accent that is difficult to understand. She teaches very basic concepts during the lecture and then expects you to teach yourself how to do the tougher concepts that are on assignments. The only upside was she had practice midterms and final that were very similar to the actual tests.
She is a great professor, plus the quiz and finals are average as they are not so difficult. In her lectures, she teaches from basic difficulty to difficult questions, but on papers and exams, only moderate and easy questions will be there. Always ready to help believe me just pay attention to concepts and you will easily score A or A+.
This class is quiz/exam heavy. The quizzes and exams contain questions that are not covered in the lectures nor the modules. Be prepared to thoroughly read your text book and do the practice problems. If you study thoroughly you'll succeed in this class.
Hybrid, lectures are pre-recorded. In class is spent "practicing". Five quizzes make up 60% of your grade, BUT they only have 3 questions each. Each question is worth FOUR PERCENT of your grade. Failed my first quiz, hired a tutor, failed again twice, and dropped the course with a W because I wasn't going to pass. Don't take this course.
Goes off on long tangents for proofs that aren't necessary nor useful for the class. The course was online, and the total length of the lecture videos is significantly greater than the amount of time in-person classes have for lectures. Practice tests and other study materials were not indicative of material on actual tests.
The class is quiz/exam heavy, but if you study the textbook and practice problems thoroughly, you'll succeed. I found Unstuck ai helpful for study prep alongside other resources like ChatGPT. Not the easiest, but manageable with dedication.
Do not take this prof!! She doesn't focus on the important parts rather goes on and on about concepts that are not covered in any quizzesit's already a very difficult course so this prof does not help at all. A few classmates were also flagged for using ai in her class and according to some of the students who got flagged they weren't even using ai
She is a good prof, but her accent can require patience. This is pretty heavy with the course load. Have to practice a lot before the midterms and finals if you want to score more than 85. Make sure to keep up with the material or else you will be left behind and you will be dealing with a lot of integrals method, differentiation and finding volume
Nataliya is quite literally the reason I switched to University of Alberta, macewan get it together and stop hiring people who have no idea what they are doing, such a joke. Such. A. Joke.
She has a thick accent which is very hard to understand and her writing is really hard to read. She is also very rude if you have questions she makes u feel rlly bad for asking. Do not take her class if u care abt ur GPA.
Teaches course material but that's pretty much it. Glosses over tougher material yet overexplains simple concepts. Tests are fair, just make sure you do all the practice she gives you, the tests are usually easier than the practice.
Macewan used to have such amazing professors that cared about their students. She's unfortunately one of the meanest professors I have come across I found her to very unhelpful and had to teach myself everything.
Her lectures are hard to follow, and she solves things oddly, so I had to watch a lot of YouTube. She's generally pretty nice, though, if you ask for help. Tests are typically easier than assignments, but she'll throw some curveballs. I wouldn't take her if other options are available, but this class is manageable if you put in the effort.
the final, worth 30%, was full of tricky questions. teacher is hard to understand, and does at least half of the work in her head when she does an example in class. wish she would teach slower rather than rushing thru first hour of class teaching then leaving the last hour for us to work on practice problems, w/out access to to her notes
Take at your own risk. Hurt people hurt people. She seems more eager to punish than to help. She's here to do her job in the strictest way possible. If you struggle, you'll be judged and punished more than helped. Be good and submissive or get done. If anything, she needs therapy and you're not it.
I took her class as a hybrid (big mistake). Her accent is impossible to understand which is difficult when all her learning resources are videos or badly written slides. Her slides are also way out of order with the ones that she gives her students, and her chapters also do not follow that of the textbook. her writing is also unintelligeable
Very nice person, accessible outside of class and good at teaching hard concepts so they are easy to understand. However, she does not go through any material during class, relying purely off of knowledge from lecture videos she assign, taught more as an online course then in person. Quizzes/exams are every other week, so you cant fall behind.
Trust me, if a prof's rating is this low you will NOT survive an 8am class with her, especially in a calculus class. 1. She doesn't help students. When you ask for help, she shames you in front of the class. 2. she says to use the textbook but she doesn't tell you what textbook she uses. I emailed her abt it and she ignored my email
Her lectures are not good, but her exams were clear and mirrored the homework assignments and practice tests perfectly. They're also quick and easily doable if you practice. I cannot comment on how she is in-person as I only saw her once and I was online. Youtube will be your best friend!
