She is the best chemistry teacher at palomar. She will go out of her way to teach you the material. The course is tough, but that depends on the students. Loves to teach and office hours always open to students. Course depends on student.
Very repetitive. Sometimes explains things too many times and it gets boring.
Forces you to learn. Can be a bit abrasive and impatient. Takes herself and her class very seriously.
Accent and pedantic about detail, especially in lab
Dr. Geetha is your typical traditional teacher who teaches straight from the book. If you are enrolled in her lecture and lab it will be very repeative. If you're the student who will and can be decidcated this teacher is definetly for you. GOOD LUCK!
If you care about learning Chemistry take this teacher. If you just want to get through with a good grade DON'T. Very detail oriented. Tests make you apply cumulative skills. No multiple choice.Very Little Homework. Very strict labs. Willing to help
She does not overcomplicate things. Her tests are not easy but possible if you actually study.
Excellent presentation to class. Very clear and logical. Emphasis is placed on students doing homwork. Had her for lab and started sitting in on lecture because she made it all so understandable! Available and willing to help with questions.
Worst science teacher I've ever had. Her tests do not equal the instruction she gives. Expect to take a 2 hour test in 50 minutes while she chuckles at everyones frustration.
She was great for 110 but once I got to 115 her tests are almost immpossible and she plays favorites. Many people dropped the class. Dont take it unless you want to work really hard
Awesome lab teacher, expects alot but tries to be very helpful. Treats everyone well as long as they dont screw around in class. The lab tests are straight outta the handouts. Didnt have for lecture though
She plays favorite among her students. She is not a very easy going to teacher. I never felt comfortable in her class. I recommend students not to take her if you want an A.
She is a wonderful teacher who obviously cares how much her students learn. She will not coddle those who show no interest or motivation, but if you can put in just a little work, she will reward you. She makes chemistry concepts very easy to understand. If you want to learn, TAKE HER.
Great teacher and very accessible. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about chemistry. While not an "easy A," her classes are only hard if you fail to do your job of studying. Tests and labs are straightforward, exam reviews are given. Take good notes, read the text, and do the homework to succeed.
She is a great teacher and inspired me to switch my major to chemistry. I had a tough time in the beggining but with her help I did very well. I learned more from her in lab than in lecture and if I have questions about chemistry to this day I ask her first.
Difficult class but if you put in effort and show interest she will help you out. Get a tutor and come to lecture, she will notice.
Her exams were exactly what she said they were going to be. No surprises, as long as you put the study time in. Going into the final I averaged a 98% So I did not have to take the final exam. Take her if you know that you are going to put effort into the class. Don't take her if you want to just slide by, because you won't. Very fair teacher
She encourages working hard to be able to get a good grade in her class. Although she is very helpful, she makes her exams really hard, even if the "concepts" she wanted to emphasize are fully understood. Her exams, especially the lab exams, seem foreign--she uses ABC's when what you really did in the lab and studied were 123's.
Great teacher who really knows what she is talking about, sometimes here class can get tough, but it still is pretty interesting and she really does want to help everyone. So if you are thinking about going on in chemistry then take Geetha for sure.
If you're a chemistry nerd then you'll love this class. If you're taking it as a requirement, good luck! It's very hard to understand her because her accent is so thick and she teaches only concepts so it gets rather difficult when there's all math on her tests. She plays favorites and grades very unfairly.
Geetha is the best chemistry teacher on campus, bar none. Given that, she does tend to make things a bit difficult. Pay attention in class, do the homework, and you'll get the grade that you deserve. Highly recommended for chemistry/science majors.
impossible class to get an A in. If you want to feel confused all semester long this is your class. One of those teachers who is out to prove that she is smarter than you and always will be. Bad experience.
AWESOME. totally rocks. makes me love chemistry, tests are HARD though! learn all your polyatomic names! very helpful in tests. learn the subject inside and out, you will do good. the first test you might fail, but you'll learn how she tests and learn from your mistakes. Pay ATTENTion!! show interest! ask questions!!! you will win! :)
Some people like her, but I found her very difficult, does not prepare you for the tests, and it is very difficult to predict what she will expect, her lectures are very unclear and disorganized. No reason to avoid her in lab, but stay away from her lectures.
After 60 units she remains my hardest teacher. Become friends with the book because you will spend many hours reading and practicing the homework problems for a C in the class. Stay clear from this teacher if you are not naturally gifted in chemistry.
Maybe it's her "culture" but she is very condescending. Unless you understand and love chemistry before coming to Geetha's class don't even bother, she will humiliate you. If you don't get what she say's that day, you may as well go home. Another prob: she has VERY POOR ENGLISH pronounciation. It enough difficulty w/out having to translate!
The Lab was part is alright, however, I ended up switching from her Lec because of just reading her syllabus, BE TO CLASS ON TIME! She closed the door on a lot of students in lab and as she says "if you miss even one word of lab instructions, then you can't do the lab" and she means it, don't be late, otherwise, she's alright, not the best, but ok.
She is a very nice teacher, but isn't willing to work with the student. She is strict on attendance. Avoid missing classes.
very hypocritical
Lectures were amazingly confusing. Her notes where all over the place so later you have to put it all together yourself. Test were very difficult, especially when she gives a question she doesn't' cover in the lecture. Easily annoyed with students asking for help. Just avoid her lecture altogether. It will save you a lot of headaches.
Excellent Professor! This is the truth(1)She explains on a students level, so students understand(2)She has unremarkable patience, she will answer your 5 million questions until you understand(3)Great Grader.HUGE partial credit makes easy A(4)She LOVES to have you visit her office with a ton of Q's. IF there is one teacher for Chem, IT'S HER!!!
If you skip class or leave early she doesn't cut you any slack, but if you stay till the end she'll help you with whatever and sometimes makes special allowances. If you can manage her Indian accent her class isn't that bad. She's has always been real nice to me.
Professor Geetha is an amazing teacher.I have her for Chem 110Lab.She cares about whether or not a student is learning the material, and if you go to her for help she will take endless amounts of time and stick with you until you understand the material. She is even patient enough to help me with my Lec homework, even though she's not my Lec teacher
great teacher!!! my fav at chem, and i h8 chem!!! :)
Outstanding Teacher! This is not an easy class regardless of who teaches it. However, if you are going to take this class do not take it with any other teacher. She will teach you everything you need to know. She takes time and has office hours. If you are going on to 220 then you should take her class.
She is a great teacher. I can understand why people are saying she was unfair, but she was usually just saying she would give no points to scare people into doing the homework properly. She is really nice and helpful if you are nice to her.
THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING THIS TEACHER!! Then think again. she is difficult to understand and degrading to her students. If you like to teach yourself, take this class. She will take pleasure in your mistakes and point them out to all. Lab must be down early cause she hates to stay the entire class time. you will feel rushed!
I got an A, but DO NOT TAKE GEETHA! TAKE ZABZYDYR INSTEAD! All of Geetha's bad comments are true. Plus, she loses papers, blames students for HER mistakes, and takes forever to grade. I didn't get my grade for almost a month after finals week. She can't speak English and she is incredibly condescending, and grades mostly on sig-fig points.
If you are planning to take this teacher, hit yourself in the head with a hammer. do yourself a favor and find another teacher. If there are no other teachers, find another school. She is completely unreasonable and ruined chemistry for me. The negative reports are true.
Excellent teacher. Enjoys the subject and is willing to go above and beyond to help. Will prepare you well for future classes.
Do not take. Period.
Anyone who complains about Dr. Getha did not apply themselves and was looking for an easy A and an easy way out. Dr. Geetha cares beyond most other Professors. She will spend time with you to make sure you excell, however if you are the typical lazy student you will not do well in her class.

If you have no choice take her lab, but avoid her lecture at all costs!!!
Dr. Geetha is extremely condescending. The best word that would encapsulate her entire persona would be "uncompromising". If you do find yourself in her class, you must rely on yourself to learn the material from the book on your own. Use her lessons to reinforce ur own learning. Not Fun at all. She ruined chemistry for me. HARD CLASS. Avoid.
Asolutely horrible! When the whole class was failing she told us that we all needed to change our careers because we obviously weren't cut out for chemistry. Even the 4th runner up for valedictorian from my high school failed her class with an f. I think thats all I need to say...
If you didn't take CHEM 100 then go take it before going to CHEM 110. I had her for lab and I knew nothing about chemistry but I managed to pass by going to her office hours. If you don't understand GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. She's one of the few teachers who will try to help you.
Unless you're already an expert in chemistry stay away from Dr. Geetha. She's just an unrealistic teacher. I'm a smart kid and I got a D and am repeating this semester with a much better teacher and it's just a landslide victory for the teacher I have now. I learned more the first day with the new teacher than I did all semester with Geetha.
I would strongly advise that you look elsewhere for a chemistry professor. Dr. Geetha knows what she is talking about, but her class is very difficult; your notes will provide very little study help. If you do decide to take from her, make sure to read the book thoroughly in addition to taking notes.
NOT a good teacher. Find someone else. She's unclear, not helpful, and doesn't teach you a thing. Her lecture classes are impossible and she's probably the hardest-grading teacher I have ever come across.
Dr. G is an AMAZING instructor! There is the misconception that she's "mean" and "bad teacher" but she just wants her students to succeed! If you want to learn, she will show you how! I would have never passed LEC if I didn't have her for LAB! She has been beyond helpful and super caring! I'm majoring in Chem&I'd take her for every class if i could
DONT BUY THE $120 LAB MANUAL U WILL NEVER USE IT!!!! My best advice.........take it with someone else; if no one is available; wait til next semester or something. Trust me I'm doing you a favor.
Teaching is a talent that Geetha does not possess. She is hard, uncaring, and seems to think that she is much smarter than others.
Geetha is a wonderful lab professor! I got an A no problem, just go to class and pay attention and turn in your homework on time. I am Horrible at chemistry and if wasn't for her I would have failed my lecture. take advantage of her office hours!! she is there to help you!!!! thanks geetha!
I was expecting a hard lab/lec with her but it got out of hand. I turned in everything complete and often received no credit for ANY mistake while others in class did not. I was very offended by her disrespect. Do not take unless you have to. Im sure she's alright if she likes you but this was dramatically unprofessional.
I had her for lecture only, I felt like she explained it very well, I always did my homework and she answered questions well. When it came time for the exams they were so difficult. I felt the work we did in class didn't prepare for exam material. She is very condescending, rude and uncompromising. Take someone else.
Geetha is a professor who is willing to help you out, take advantage of her office hours! She is tough, but respect her and do your work and you will do fine.. lets you drop your lowest grade on exam, Score high enough and you wont even have to take it!! :)
:) + chem + this class --> :( The addition of this class shifts the equilibrium position to the right, where the reverse rxn is almost nonexistent. But I survived.
Anyone who says this professor is bad is a crybaby and wants an easy A. She's extremely knowledgeable in the subject and quite enthused in the subject as well. Her tests are difficult but who says they should be easy? If you're willing to put in the work and truly want to learn chemistry, this is the professor to learn it from.
Geetha rambles a lot! she also requires the whole class to be done before you can leave. she also favors students. sometimes she would lecture for more then 1 hour about such a basic concept. tests are hard and she is a very tough grader, make sure she always signs you lab or else you get no credit even if you were there and did it all!
Great teacher. I haven't learned more from any other chem teacher. Read the book and do more than the assigned hw. Tests are easy if you study the right problems and use the office hours wisely.
Excellent Professor. I couldn't speak more highly of a teacher.
Awesome Professor. Just do all the homework she assigns till you get them right and you will ace the tests. She let us bring note cards with equations on the test. She is also really helpful in office hours.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. I am a straight A student and I worked my butt off in this class and I did horrible on every test...but I aced the final. She assigned online hw which looked nothing like her tests. She changes her mind about due dates constantly. She looks at you like your an idiot if you ask any questions.
her tests were long and very hard sometimes didnt even inform us everything that was on the test, she posts study guides but they rarely have similar questions on the test. worst chemistry teacher i've ever had.
She's excellent and really knows her stuff. I don't know how she puts up with the low level of U.S. education we reflect, but she was extremely patient and did an excellent job of breaking down things for us. For the serious student, HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Easy class but her exams are ridiculous. Sometimes she would treat us like graduate students and the next she?s condescending and playing favorites. Some things doesn?t need to be perfect because it?s a process that students need to make mistakes in order to learn. Her notes are so disorganized. Take Abbas instead!
Taking this teacher is sort of risky. She favors some students over others. If she likes you she will give you far more partial credit than if she doesn't. I am a straight A student and she gave me my first C.
It?s impossible to get a 100 on homework. It?s all online, and the questions do not even relate the test. Sometimes, you insert the right answer for the homework, but the program still says it?s wrong. Then, we second guess ourselves and endlessly search the book until we have a headache. We show this to her but sometimes we get docked anyway.
This Prof. has a reputation for being "crazy". Either she is very fickle or she has memory problems. Too bad I didn't believe the rumors when I heard them. Be prepared for her consistently changing her mind about grading procedures and due dates.
Yes this class is difficult. But you won't learn Chemistry from anyone better than Dr. Geetha. Chemistry itself is a difficult subject. You aren't in high school anymore. Expect to be putting in effort, you will earn the grade you deserve. Geetha will always help you if you ask for it. Don't believe the BS about her. She'll help you in the long run
I did the HW and paid attention in class and read the book. It's not high school anymore. This class isn't hard if you actually study before tests.
If your good at chemistry she's a pretty easy A. I didn't study for one test and aced them all and if you understand the material in her lab you get to leave early most of the time. If your terrible at chemistry, like most people, she's perfect. She goes way in depth of all the topics which bored me to tears but I think it helped a lot of people.
I love chemistry, but this class easily turned into my most dreaded class as approaching her was intimidating and she is apathetic unless you are one of her favorites. Students who brown-nosed her loved her class just fine...
She is very nice and easily approachable. She genuinely cares about her students and even went out of her way to help us by typing up class notes for us. She is underrated on this site, and I would definitely recommend her.
This teacher was very difficult to understand due to her accent. She does not explain things very well and she's great at making people feel stupid!I quickly dreaded her class! Unless you are good at teaching yourself I would definetly NOT recommend taking her!low ratings for a reason!!!Take someone else!
Positives: She cares enough to ask her students to come to her office. She uses different forms of media to teach. Attendance is not mandatory. She allows a cheat sheet. Negatives: She can be disorganized. Her tests are difficult. Must study hard or you will not pass. I did not have a handle on 110 knowledge so I felt behind the whole semester.
She is a remarkable teacher, honestly cares and puts a concerted effort into imparting the material well. If you follow her instructions and heed her warnings it will be the best chem class you've ever taken.
very difficult to understand. she is very demanding with what you turn in to her. she gives you a notecard during your test but her reviews arent very helpful the class before. she fell behind in both lecture and lab and adjusted the syllabus schedule to accomodate the lessons she wasnt able to teach. she uses too many types of media to teach
This class is very difficult and is a lot of work. Take it only if you're taking easy classes simultaneously. Her accent isn't bad, she explains concepts in simple terms, and she really cares about her students. But her tests are hard, there's a lot of homework (and work in general), and you NEED TO KNOW THE CHEM 110 MATERIAL. Be prepared to work.
Dr. Geetha is a nice women outside of class. However, she picks on students during class and makes them feel stupid. This class was very stressful and it required a lot of work, which prevented me from focusing in my other courses. I definitely do NOT recommend this professor for Chem 115. Take my advice and save yourself from getting bad grade!
This professor is a Godsend. She is difficult because she pushes you to learn. She teaches you how to apply concepts practically, which is the most useful form of learning. Anyone who has taken Chem from her leaves with the best understanding of the material. It is hard no doubt, but don't get discouraged. She notices when you put the effort in.
I would not recommend this professor at all. The problems on her test are much harder than what she goes over in class. She emailed us the night before a test and told us a concept we never went over in class would be on our written part. Whenever she says you will get extra credit for participating, you don't. Take another professor.
WONDERFUL teacher! She is amazing at presenting the information in a way that is easy to understand and retain. She's easy to talk to and truly wants us to succeed. Tests are hard but she gives worksheets that are also study guides. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had! I actually enjoyed going to class because her lectures are fantastic
Geetha can be a hit or miss to some students. She really tries to help out her students. Her worksheets are a big help. I learned more in her lab on some concepts than I did in lecture. Got to be there every day for lab. I thought her tests were hard in the beginning, but I got used to her and Aced last two tests. Ended up with an A in the class.
I loved Dr. Geetha. Her takes effort but she gave you plenty of tools to do well. If you attend class and do the homework you will do fine. Her test questions come right off of the worksheets. She has a low tolerance for laziness but if you reach out to her and let her know you care she will help and work with you. Highly recommend if chem major.
Geetha was a very good professor. Some may say she is hard and/or strict, but she keeps you on your toes and helps you really learn the material. She explains concepts really well and encourages class participation. Her tests were a bit difficult, but as long as you study and know all concepts you will be fine.
God bless Dr. Geetha, by far the best professor I have had. Very difficult class and you will not get an A unless you actually study, but I learned a lot. She's really kind and helpful and has a good sense of humor. Strongly recommend her if you actually want to learn.
Geetha is one of my favorite Professors. She is by no means an easy A, however. She's a harsh grader, but once you get used to her style, it's not bad. (She drops your lowest score). The way she explains things make them seem elementary. Plus, she's hilarious! If you want to understand the content of the class Geetha is the Professor for you (:
Dr. Geetha is awesome! Her lectures are extremely clear & she makes them interesting. Her exams aren't bad if you do the homework and go to class! Her notes are great and provide all the information that you need for exams. I highly recommend taking her lecture and lab together, it really helps! She is helpful but makes you work for your grade.
If you're on her good side its all fine and dandy. Just sitting through lecture you will watch her degrade other students and sometimes be completely rude to some people.. in front of an entire class. We even had a student walk out during class. She walks in to class late often, was ill prepared and is consistently behind on material.
Not the easiest teacher, but not the worst. She did select students to present certain material. This is probably what other reviewers mean by "picking on" people. The people she selected were being disruptive in class, and she was trying to teach them a lesson. Not a mean teacher, sometimes even funny, but very serious about her subject.
Awesome professor. She informs you exactly what she will test on and explains things really well. She definitely makes you work for your grade though. If you want to understand the content then take her.
Geetha is by far the best chemistry professor I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her student's success. Her class is difficult for sure, but if you are willing to put in the effort it is definitely worth it. I would recommend taking her both her lecture and her lab if you can. Her tests are tough but fair.
Wastes time going over algebra instead of the concepts we're supposed to learn. Says things won't be graded that are and vice versa. Gives out extra points you never actually receive. Uses sapling for homework which makes me lose faith in humanity. I felt like nobody really knew what the f was going on. I just want to enjoy chemistry class!
She go overs the material w/out first giving you a clear foundation of the material that are going to be testable. During her "office hours" she is eating her lunch & returns her, "very important" phone calls/text messages. Most of her questions on her exams are nothing like her packets. If you're struggling she won't give you the time of day.
Geetha is a great teacher, it is obvious that she genuinely cares for her students. During class she doesn't answer many questions, instead she tells you to go to her office hours and she will gladly help you. In her office hours she goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the topic. Highly recommend taking her lab and lecture together.
Geetha is ordinary at what she does. She's not particularly bright or clever or witty as a teacher. She's not clear or effective as a communicator. I'm committed to learning, and she's not even correct sometimes when it comes to chemistry. I taught myself and spent time with online resources. I suppose it could have been worse but I'm not sure how.
Take her for Lecture and Lab. She hand holds you through everything. Do exactly what she says. There's a method to her madness, and I see it now. I appreciate her so much. Chemistry was never my thing, but I understand it now because of her. Please attend her Office Hours and do every packet assigned. I wish I had her for 110 and 100. She's great!
Super difficult to understand what she is saying. Would be great to have a translator. Her tests are worded in a super confusing way, and she grades really hard. Homework and Sapling due basically every 2 days.
Best chemistry teacher ever! I came in hating chemistry; I left liking it. She made chemistry lab and lecture bearable and easy to understand. She is an excellent professor. She is one of the few professors on campus that I look up to and who genuinely is a good teacher. Take her for all your chem needs. She is the best!
She's terrible. She thinks she's some amazing, informative teacher and she's just not. She's angry, and frequently yells at students to make an example, but with little basis. Teacher's like this give Palomar a terrible reputation. Avoid this class, and this sub-mediocre "professor", like the plague.
If you are not a student advocate and do not have a passion to teach, don't do it.
Her class is not easy, but she helps you understand chemistry. One advice: if you're going to take the lecture with her, try to take the lab with her too.
Her tests are what got me. Her wording is intended to throw you off and once who answer the question based on your incorrect understanding, it's still one of the answers. She is ruthless and uncaring. I attempted every outside tutoring session and studied for hours to absolutely no avail.
Her tests are borderline identical to the packets she makes. SLIGHTLY curves tests (additive 2% on first 2) & drops 1 of the 3 scores. The math in this course is basic, at worst you solve a quadratic. ALEKS is busywork, many topics unrelated to the course. Lectures are sometimes just filling out packets, which isn't very interesting.
Prof. Geetha was an unclear and poor communicator, she was unable to explain concepts without convoluting and needlessly over-complicating them. Then answers had to be worded exactly her convoluted way otherwise she marked them incorrect even if the explanation was worded similarly to the book. Overall the class was disorganized and chaotic.
I feel like Professor Geetha did everything she could to help us pass. She gave plenty of partial credit opportunities, and provided good notes. However, she did assign a LOT of homework, and sometimes went over difficult material too fast. But her class is doable if you put in the effort. She took attendance every day, and I never used the book.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF IF U WANT TO FAIL CHEM FOR THE FIRST TIME. She does not even post grades and is very hard to understand during class. Her exams are tough and its a waste of time.
i liked geetha. tests were very similar to the packets she gives (pretty much the same format but w/ different numbers). She repeatedly says concepts that will appear on test. contrary to what others say, she DOES care about her students. she's extremely willing to help you; just go to office hours & attend SI sessions (our SI person was great)
I had to retake this class and I'm happy I took Geetha. She is very wise and sometimes fast but she knows chemistry very well and really tries to get the information through to you. Her assistant was by far the best assistant/tutor. She spent many nights and hours outside class to meet up and study. There is a lot of papers and work but manageable
Geetha is a professor I will never forget. She's a person you haver to warm to, which is why its important to ask questions, and go to office hours!! I was failing for the most of the semester, but began going to office hours, and SI meetings. This is the hardest class I've taken but by the end of the course I learned to love chemistry.
We had a patient SI who basically taught the class
This is one of the most needlessly difficult classes I've ever taken. Tons of busy work and none of the answer keys are posted in a timely fashion. I feel like I understand the lectures and study hard, then bomb the tests. In the lab she grades each worksheet one by one and has a huge line. Work ahead? You stay late anyway. Grading criteria unclear
LOTS of homework + ALEKS hw. she wants everyone to succeed and she's a nice lady, but her teaching style is just not for me. she rambles often when you just want to get straight to the point. Shes VERY picky about answering certain problems. do it her way or youre screwed. we at least had a really supportive and helpful SI.
Geethas teaching style is definitely not for everybody. She speaks very quickly but it takes her a long time to get to the point. She has a very short temper and every time I asked her a question in class she made me feel like I was too dumb to be in the class. Im always scared to go to her class and leave feeling anxious.
If you skip one question on a worksheet you automatically get 50% on the packet. Skip 2? 0%. She is very impatient and makes you feel incredibly stupid for asking questions. If you do ask a question, prepared to be called out in front of the entire class. Very anxiety-inducing environment. I only learned how to adapt to her insane rules, not chem.
She is smart but her teaching style may not work with the American society. She's supposed to help student succeed but sometimes, she talks and sounds like very intimidating and sounds like she makes you feel dumb. She is supposed to help student succeed so they can work in the future, pay tax, to pay her salary.
She does not curve grade even the test score average is 65. She is not student advocate, does not care, and it hurts the reputation of Palomar College. All exams are tricky hard, and she gets irritated quickly.
This is the hardest class I took from Palomar College. She is not organized, some assignment deadlines are not in the syllabus, she gets irritated quickly, she makes you feel dumb if you ask certain questions, hard to follow her explanation, a simple concept makes it sound more complicated with his explanation, and she does not curve grade.
I took her lab online and it was amazing. At first, I was a little turned off because she places such an emphasis on participation, but it really isn't anything more than getting answers checked by her or the SI; and because she checks all your answers you'll be able to tell if you're doing something wrong. She explains things really well.
So far so good. Just show your work to her or SI and they will help you correct it, but you have to do effort. Lecture is long but this class is doable.
This is a very challenging lab but it is doable. She will help you a lot and she tries her best to help you succeed. Participate, study, ask questions, and you will succeed.
Test and quizzes are difficult. Follow her instructions and advice. She gives a lot of hint on how to succeed. Does not curve grade so study a lot. Participate and she will give you extra credit as many as she can.
Get ready to study. Persevere and you will pass. Ask a lot of questions and she will give you a lot of answers. Very smart.
She's very disorganized and condescending. She'd say stuff like our parents probably pay for all our classes and that we probably don't do our own laundry. Stuff like that all the time. Unclear grading criteria. She'd let us go on break and then give important information while people were using the bathroom. Also tested on stuff we never practiced
This professor ruined chemistry for me. CHEM 110 is a difficult class regardless, yet Geetha did everything in her power to make the class more difficult. She was often rude, condescending, and unfair. She would humiliate students in front of everyone on zoom if they did not understand. I am a STRAIGHT A student and I was failing this class. AVOID.
Makes the class very difficult. Graded very specifically and makes incredibly difficult tests on purpose. Can be rude to students who ask for help and relies on the TA to answer all of our questions and gets mad if we ask her. No study guides given. No exam review.
Absolutely hated this class. Very condescending. She would get mad at students who would ask for help or would need clarification on some assignments. She refuses to speak to anyone during exams even if they are struggling with wifi connection or printer malfunctions. Maxed out my anxiety limit 100%. The TA made the class bearable.
Just awful, I have not had a worse professor in my entire time at this great school. Do yourself a favor and do not, under any circumstances take this professor.
This class was extremely tough I won't lie and during the course Dr. G could often be condescending or make things very hard. However, when I came to her with extreme circumstances at the end of the semester she was extremely understanding and caring and let me pass even though I didn't deserve it and I have to give her admiration for that.
You have to anticipate putting lots of work into this class. Having a solid 110 foundation will benefit you greatly. Do everything she asks of you (come to class, do the classwork, do reading guides) and it'll be very informative & interesting. I suggest taking lab & lec with her. Get to know her, give effort, you'll do well. Had an amazing SI too!
