Horrible. She sucks. Her study guide is the most useless thing in the world- it is basically everything in the chapter and then everything in her lectures. Bad. Very very bad.
boy she sure loves to lock the door at 4:00:01 and say that talking is a distraction..
Poor lecturer. Answers every single question in a class with 350 people, which is extremely annoying for the 349 who understand the topic. Tests are easy as long as you do the reading. Doesnt take attendence. Has trouble controlling class noises and disruptions.
Horrible does not even come close to describing the extent of pain this woman caused both my eyes and ears. She does less teaching than a teacher that just reads and makes notes from the book. I feel myself becoming much dumber as I sit through an hour and fifteen minutes of pain twice a week.
I like her, she helps me when i have questions, and helped me with stuff for other classes. I do have to say though, that the ?'s dumb people ask do get annoying, and the Study Sheets might not help, but at least she makes things available and offers EC which are helpful on tests. Plus shes pretty hot!
She's not really a bad professor, but she's not great either... She's not very clear on some things and often confuses us.
I think that she is a good professor. Class notes are straight forward. Study guides given give a lot of information but can be helpful. Test are pretty easy. People just ask too many questions. I would recommend taking this class.
I think she'd be a good teacher in a smaller class-she has no control over those who like to act like they're 8 instead of 18. The lectures are ok, but not that helpful in learning. Study guides are helpful, but kind of broad. The tests are m.c. and IMPOSSIBLE, especially considering how much info.
I think she's a good professor. She is easy to understand, and she makes sure that the material is understood for the tests. I would recommend her.
Very helpful when approached- Class itself is diffucult, partly because of the size. Study guides are helpful!
i think she is a fairly good lecturer. she seems to be interested in what she teaches which is a good thing. her tests are fair and are not exceptionally difficult however they do make you think. although the study guides she gives are very broad so you might as well just know everything.
Excellent knowledge of her field, however I would recommend teaching a MUCH smaller class. Should set aside time to answer questions - they take up the majority of class time. Excellent when approached individually, but not very clear in class. Wish she would have followed book order of chapters
Dr. Tokowicz is a very nice and approachable teacher, and will take the time to enhance understanding. To improve class- she should put the class notes online before class, so students can print off the notes and listen to more of what she says in lecture that is not in the book.
she is a very nice person but can be a little confusing during lecture. the study guides are helpful but could be a little more specific. we should be able to print the notes out before class so that we can pay more attention to what she is saying.
She is approachable. One downfall is taking questions from a large # of students, esp when questions are specific & not beneficial to the class. Then there's not enough time to finish lecture. I use the study guide to eliminate parts I don't need to know but it doesn't clarify what I do need to know
She's a very fair prof...must read and study off the study guides but tests aren't too tough. I think it's a definite B course and with work a very possible A!
The lectures aren't too bad - they were generally pretty interesting. The exams are easy if you put in a good amount of studying. The extra credit assignments she offers are also good perks. She's also very approachable and helpful.
good professor, although the exams will either kill you or save you. with the low number of questions on each exam, if you don't do well on one, it drops your grade pretty significantly. she is a fair grader and the extra credit is a plus!
This class was the worst class I have ever taken. I would not recomend people to take this course with this teacher.
I think she is doing a pretty good job.
This class can sometimes drag on, but overall I feel it is very informative and Dr. T does whatever she can to make sure we understand the info, even if it means spending the majority of the class time on a few topics. She truly cares about her students doing well!
Dr. T does a good job at teaching, and makes this subject pretty easy.
She is very organized and always makes announcements clear before class begins. I also like that she makes sure students know not to come late to class and to turn off cell phones, which are both distractions. If you do not do good one her tests then forget about the class...the tests are hard!!
I really enjoyed taking this class with dr. t. she explains the topics well and keeps the class engaged in the material. she is extremely educated. she also is very strict about behavior in the class, if that means anything to you. i would definately recommend her for psych if you want to learn.
Dr. T tries very hard to make her students understand the material. The class has the tendancy to drag on because she spends so much time answering questions.
Her teaching style was pretty straight forward. I found it easy to learn from her.
If you read the book, pay attention in class, do the extra credit assignments, and use the study guide, the class is easy and you can learn a lot about psychology. Professor Tocowicz makes the topics interesting, which makes it so much easier to remember what you're learning.
Her test are horrible, she tries to trick you. The test are also only 30 questions and can really hurt you. You are graded only on tests, do not take this class with this prof.
Easy class to do well in. 4 tests a semester with no cumulative final and plenty of extra credit. Go to class and keep up with reading and you'll do fine.
Nice Lecture Notes

Natasha is great. I did Directed Research with her; she's very down-to-earth, and very unprofessor-like, which is nice since you work so closely with the professor for this "class". She doesn't make you feel pressured despite the fact that you will have a lot of work. Very helpful; answers any ?s.
i don't like her
Dr. T is very clear and concise. She offers a lot of good extra credit oppurtunities and is always available to the students. I would recommend her and this course to anyone. I am now in Developmental Psych. because of her intro course. Thanks, Natasha!
mostly taught myself by reading the text
she sucks really bad. she laughs after evwrything she says. she second guesses herself alot. her exams are retarded the questions are way to wordy. i didn't like her at all. killed the whole class by being such a terrible teacher
5 page study guides have every bold word in the text, all for 30-question tests. Classes are interesting, but preparing for exams is awful. Take another psy0010 prof; they're easier and most get to drop lowest score...
Some test questions can be confusing, the study guides and class notes helped a lot, I enjoyed the class and it was very interesting and i liked that you showed some videos (its more interesting to see rather than just hear it)
Good teacher.
I wanted to like her and her class but I just could not. The tests were what we called "footnote tests" in high school--too detail-oriented; memorization was more important than actually learning material. She was terrible; I stopped going to lectures and taught myself with the book.
Really great professor, in my opinion. She's not boring at all, speaks very clearly (easy to listen to), does interesting demonstrations. The test are a little tricky, and that seems to be the general consensus, but her class is still worth taking, nonetheless.

Dr. T is a pretty good teacher. You can skip the lectures for the most part, but they're enjoyable and make the subject a little easier to digest. Study guides are helpful. It's a huge class of course, but she's always available if you need her and is a nice woman.
She gives outlines for each class for note-taking. She also gives study guides for each test. Overall, an easy class. She is very nice too
not a very good professor. the lectures were painful for both of us. she was nervous all the time and had trouble explaining things.
very boring, but she tries so hard to help everyone and it is easy and she is very nice.

Boring lectures, but she's a cute lady and always wants to help everyone. Study guides are helpful. Has extra assignments to bring grade up. Read the chapters, go to class, and do all assignments and you'll do well. I got 100s on all tests and a 103% final average.
Amazing. Honestly one of the most helpful professors I will ever have. Do the study guides for tests and you're golden
I had mixed feelings about her. She is very helpful and knows what shes talking about but her lectures are boring and she doesn't post the power points online. Definately follow the study guides, do the practice questions (some are on the test...easy pts) and absolutely read the chapters, theyre boring but give you the random info for an A
No Comments
Extremely easy class and teacher. As long as you go to class and take notes, you will do well: as in an A. Its real easy to sleep in such a large auditorium but resist and you will be rewarded. If you review the material often or study a few days before the test, whatever your style, you'll do great.
she is hot in a classical jewish way and knows her stuff i think. just study for 2 days before the test with study guides and youll get an A probry. Shes nice and easy, and isnt that really what your looking for. count it!
Pretty easy class. Her lectures can be a little boring, but if you take notes, you'll get A's on all the tests.
Really entertaining, easy class. She's good at keeping your attention most of the time. The exams are easy if you use the study guide that she provides for you online. Opportunities for extra credit. I suggest doing the assigned reading, even if it seems like a lot. It gave me a letter-grade difference on my exams.
This lady is way too into her job. As long as you don't mind referring to blackboard every minute and a half you'll be ok. She posts about 6 things a week on blackboard. Lecture is boring. I wouldn't recomend her. Unless you really need to take Psych, I'd stay as far away from her as possible. I really hated her class with all of my being.
The class is boring, she is not very helpful, and her tests are harder than they should be. I studied a good amount for her tests, and still received C's
Natasha makes her class deceptively hard. The tests seem simple, but they are actually confusing. Going to lecture is practically pointless, since there are study guides and you can do the assigned readings. Only rarely does she include things mentioned in lecture on the exams. She sucks at delivering the lectures, unorganized and confusing.
This class is cake...I mean come on it's INTRO Psy...but she stil teaches it well...Going to lectures is not manditory but she does assignments in lectures which can hurt your grade a little if you're not there..also Experimetrix was a pain in the ass even tho I only spent like a total of 50 minutes in SenSq doing work...
terrific!
The tests can be a little confusing and there is alot of reading assigned. I didn't read at all and I still got an A-. She is very organized and offers loads of bonus (about 30 points total for the semester). She was also very cooperative anytime I needed anything from her. I would recommend her!
pretty boring but a lot of opportunities for extra credit. the tests can be tricky, but overall shes pretty fair.
Great professor, lots of fun! Just make sure you go to class and read the textbook. Her study guides are really helpful too!
Real nice class. Lectures aren't too bad. She does a good job of teaching. Very friendly and takes time to explain things and answer questions in class. Tests aren't hard at all. A lot of reading, but you can get away with not doing it if you study hard for the tests.
she was a boring teacher that make psychology much harder than it should be
She's decent. Not too hard or easy, just right I guess for college level
Great teacher. Some of the tests are hard but she gives you a study guide before the test that has everything you need to know.
So you know the professor you dream about having when you go to college, the kind which is makes class fun, personal, INTRESTING, and the material clear? The kind which really wants you to succeed and gives you countless opps. to earn your grade? You my friend, are dreaming of Natasha Tokowicz. Take her, you wont regret it.
Study guides are very helpful, tests can be tricky until you figure out how she tests. Most questions are applied and not regurgitating facts. Good lectures, go to class to get bonus that is offered and very easy to get.
Dr.T and her TAs are very helpfull and wonderful people. It was hard to get good grades because all points are coming from tests, and I do not like maltiple choice tests. But I learned a lot and enjoyed being in Dr.T's class.
Dr. T is definately one of the best professors I have ever had. She explains everything very descriptively and gives modern examples for almost everything she talks about. Awesome professor, definately take her. P.S. I asked her for some research and in an auditorium of 300 people she remembered that I asked for it when even I forgot!! Impressive
Easy class...great teacher...go to class and pay attention and review the study guide and you'll definitely get at least a B+. I never thought about taking another psych class before but now i am.
This class was the easiest. Seriously, only go to lecture to study for other classes and to get participation points. Do the study guides when she posts them on courseweb, and you won't have any trouble.
Tokowicz is awesome! I absolutely hate anything science related, including psych but she is a great professor. The class is easy, not mandatory to attend but there are assignments that could hurt your grade a bit. Tests are pretty easy, but sometimes tricky. Even if you hate science, take it just because Natoko is awesome!
Natasha was a great professor. She was clear in her lectures, even though they were pretty boring. The two things that bothered me is that she didn't go in order on her lecture topics which she posted online before lecture, and her study guides for exams were almost useless. Great professor though.
Extremely clear with both her lectures and tests. She pretty much gives you the exact topics that will be on the test about a week before. Spend about 4-5 hours studying before each test and you will be certain to come out of the class with at least an A. She also drops your lowest test grade, including the final. Plenty of extra credit.
I do not think this is esay A course because the average in the class was B-. But she is very helpfull and nice!
great intro class, really interesting, funny
Very easy class. Come to class and use her outlines to take notes. Read the book. The study guides she posts before exams are a big help, study with them. If you do all of these you will do fine in the class.
she was great - the class was kinda difficult but she gives lots of extra credit and does her best to make things rather interesting for the students. i would absolutely take another class from her.
I loved this class. She was the perfect teacher for introductory psychology, and I learned alot. Come to class and you get extra points.
great teacher, cares about you and the content of the course

Fantastic class.
Powerpoints were helpful, just listen and class and you'll get an A on the exams. She's extremely nice, helpful, and an overall good teacher for Intro Pysc. I highly recommend her.
Tash is a very nice person, but her tests are hard as hell. The format is multiple choice-35 questions and a bonus... and they suck. You have to read and study to understand what's going on but I like her alot. She provides us study guides for each test that are very helpful.
Awesome professor. All you have to do is go to class, pay attention, and maybe look over the notes/study guide once or twice before an exam and you're set. She really knows how to keep the information interesting and the class engaged despite it totaling 300 students. Would definitely recommend her to everyone.
Excellent professor. Keeping up with class work is easy.
so easy and clear.
Dr. T is hands down one of the best professors at PITT. I wouldn't take anybody else for intropsy. Despite other reviews, the exams are really easy. 3 keys: go to class, read the book, know the study guide... if these 3 keys are accomplished, you should be rewarded for your effort!
Please don't be confused by these posts. Her tests are NOT easy by any means. I received an A in the class, but had to invest a lot of time out of class studying. Go to lectures and get bonus points which will boost your grade 1/2 a letter grade. (A- to A...etc) A "good" grade is relative I suppose. Go to all lectures and take the test.. expect a C
eh - annoying because she gets pissy when people start to pack up their stuff. pretty easy though - honestly, if you know the study guide and you came to class and listened even a little bit -- you'll be fine. she gives random extra points in classes, too - those are nice.
Very good professor, extremely clear. If you come to class, you probably won't have to do much reading in the book - and she gives extra credit when you attend. She responds VERY quickly to emails and is very helpful in office hours.

I really like Dr. T. She's pretty chill, very friendly, and explains everything simply and clearly. She gives really easy in-class assignments which are extra credit and boost your grade. Go to class, take notes, study, and you'll be fine. Class isn't mandatory but if you go you get extra credit and you don't have to read, so I'd recommend going.
I was really excited to take my first psych class. Natasha made sure it will be my last. I went to office hours before every class for the 3rd test and she told me the wrong things to study. She was of no help. She is very bull headed and won't listen to arguments about test questions. Would not recommend.
I enjoyed her class (she shows alot of videos and demos) Shes very helpful if you go to her office hours with questions. Tests are kind of tricky, and i had to read the book to really do well. Ended up with an A but had to work for it--also did all the extra credit she offered.
definately recommend this class even though its pretty boring, its easy. Dr T. is a great teacher and she gives you study guides for each exam, do those and put in a decent amount of time studying and you wont have any trouble here
read the book chapters before class, do all the assignments, study hard for the exam and pay attention in class. you have to do work and then you'll get an a. shes a good professor, recites the book during lectures pretty much. kind of tricky test questions though. drops lowest of 5 exam scores (including final if you don't take it)
Dr. T is a great professor: very friendly, straightforward tests, gives extra credit and gives interesting lectures. If you study, SKIM the book (pay attention to figures) and pay attention during lecture, then you should do very well in this class.
great teacher. she made the lectures fun and the material interesting.
This class is soooo easy. And if you go to class you can earn up to 12 bonus points. Pick her as your professor if you can!!
Go to lecture to get participation point. Read the book carefully. Her lecture is confusing, you just need to understand most stuffs in the book. Tests are sometimes confusing.
Dr. T is a great professor who makes lecture fun and interesting! Read the chapters in the book before class, and pay attention and take lots of notes during the lecture. She gives many extra credit/participation points which can boost your grade. Overall a pretty straightforward class
Very interesting teacher. Was able to keep class engaged even though it was a 300+ person class. Tests were easy as long as you studied. Gives a helpful study guide and extra credit assignments, some of which you will only get if you go to class, so go to class! It's interesting, so why wouldn't you?? Loved her...and she had sweet glasses!
I learned so much in this class! It really made me fall in love with psychology. Her examples are solid and her teaching style is strong. The exams can be a little tricky if you don't pay close attention and the videos are on the exam which is tough if you forget to take notes but otherwise this class is awesome.
Natasha (as me and my fellow students referred to her) is a very good professor, and is very good at explaining ideas and concepts. The class is very easy if you attend lecture and pay attention. I learned a lot and it was a very enjoyable class, she has a great personality and made lecture interesting.
She is a good teacher, just wish she would put more information on slides.
Love her. She gives study guides for every exam and lecture notes so you don't have to write everything down on lined paper. Although there are more exams than other classes, it helps you remember the material better for the final.
She's a great teacher. The tests can be a little tricky, but as long as you take some time to study, it should be an easy B. She's very organized, and she makes the material interesting, even keeping my attention in a class of 300+ students. Highly recommended!
Great professor!! Def reccommend taking her class
I've only finished my first semester, but so far Dr. Tokowicz is my favorite teacher at PITT. She provides study guides and practice exam questions that are very helpful. Study those and you should be able to do very well in the class. She is also a very nice person and she makes the material even more interesting than it already is.
Like others have said, Study guides and notes make for very easy studying. Gives extra credit IF and ONLY IF you go to lecture, so there is no point in not going. She was out for a month with a torn tendon, and when she was gone, I realized just how good of a professor she was, the guest lecturers were awful, and could barely keep me awake.
Intro to Psych with Dr. T was my favorite class freshman year. She had a very generous grading policy, allowing us to drop 2 out of 5 exams (including the final) as a result of the swine flu. Her lectures were very easy to follow and she made learning psychology easy. Reading the book is not mandatory but it was the difference between an A and B.
Prof T made me look forward to attending class. She was extremely clear in her descriptions and used wonderful examples. Surprisingly Intro to Psych with her was the only class I did not fall asleep in all year. I loved this class and most of all I am in love with Dr T. She's the kind of woman you take home to your parents. Highly recommended!
Intro to psych: She's an awesome teacher! She is so clear and explicit about what you are learning. She really knows what she's talking about. The material was interesting and she includes many tests and points for which to support your grade. She's a really dedicated teacher who really wants you to do well in her class.
She was a nice woman, but what she taught in class was nothing compared to what she expected you to know for the exam. You need to read every chapter and make extremely detailed study guides. I studied many hours and still got a B in the class because her questions are worded to trick you.
This is not a very hard class. I rarely read the book and still got an A-. Her questions can be tricky. I would definitely recommend her for Into to Psych.
Dr. Tokowicz is an engaging, delightful professor. The class period was a bit long, but I rarely got bored. She explained the information in a clear, concise fashion, and her exams weren't very hard. I always read the textbook before class, and studied for the exams the night before, and easily got an A+.
Take her and love her . . . it's as simple as that
Great lecturer. Knows her stuff well. You must do 4 hrs of psychology experiments in order to pass class. If you read the book and attend lecture, you should get a pretty good grade. However, I missed some classes and tried to cram which WILL NOT work in this class. The tests are extremely hard, esp. for 1st-semester freshmen. Be rdy to work hard4A
This lady is good at what she does. Good at answering any questions about material. Good attitude and great smile.
I know people who have taken the other Psych professors and Dr. T is definitely the easiest. She has a great sense of humor and her lectures keep your attention. Her tests are designed to trick you but they're not too difficult. She gets mad when people make noise at the beginning or end of class but it's kind of funny.
Read the text before going to class, write down everything she says, and study the notes after class. Simple memorization will get you an A. No extra work is needed. Just make sure to get the 4 credits of experiments done early because if you wait til the end of the semester, then you'll end up writing papers for the credits
Nice lady but tests are based more on your ability to take a test than knowledge of the subject. Lectures straight out of the book-not helpful at all. Easy class if you are good at taking tests.
She is a great teacher and she kept class interesting. It was frustrating though, feeling 100% prepared for a test and still getting a B on it. I thought she was a little harder than she needed to be, but she is my favorite lecturer I have had so far.
Worst class ever! Try paying attention while 400 classmates sit on their laptops. Professor is not helpful and even if you know all of the material, the tests will still confuse you. However, Alvin the TA was awesome. Went to him with all questions. I will be retaking this class next fall in hopes of boosting my GPA. Overall, DO NOT TAKE HER!
Dr. T is alright; she tries her best to make a class of 400 seem less anonymous and shows the real world implications of the concepts we learn about. The tests suck though; they're meant to test your ability to take tests more than knowledge. More I studies worse I did, got C- on tests I studies tons for, finally gave up on studying and got a B:-/
A very, very nice person and a good lecturer. Even though I'm not really interested in psych. she kept my interest throughout her lectures. However, her tests were kind of difficult though she does give a study guide of what you should know. Allegedly, other Intro Psych professors are easier.
Dr. Tokowicz is extremely clear in lecture. She gives out study guides for the tests which is extremely helpful. Her tests were a little hard but from what I have heard, she is a lot better than the other into professors. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Tokowicz is obviously a knowledgable lady, but the format of this class isn't the best. Expect surprises on some of the tests. Go to the lectures and do your reading and you should be fine.
Dr. T made Intro to Psych a great experience, and I would recommend her to anyone. Comprehensive, but straightforward exams rewarded students who opened their books and diligently utilized her study guides. Multiple extra-credit opportunities were provided, no reason to get anything below a B.
Completely useless professor. Made me hate psychology so much that I changed my major. Notes and lectures are absolutely useless and disorganized. Tests are over mostly things that weren't in lecture or the book.
She was disorganized, did not help. Her test were confusing an are very tricky. If you get her , find a new teacher or take the class at some other time.
Read the book and pay attention in lecture. She's super nice and does her best to make class bearable but the tests can be challenging. I studied a lot and did alright.
This was my first time ever taking a Psych class so I had no previous knowledge and ended up with a "B" I went to every class, read most of the chapters, took decent notes, and studied about 2 hours for each exam. There are 4 exams (5 including the final), if you take all 5 exams she will drop the lowest one which is nice.
i dont understand all of the negative feedback since she is one of the best teachers ive ever had. she is so knowledgable and she managed to make her lectures interesting so i didnt mind going. her tests mainly come from her lectures and there isn't a huge need for the book unless you enjoy reading 40 pages a week for fun. all in all i loved dr. t!
Her class was very interesting and she's willing to help you no matter what. Her test can be awkwardly worded but she's willing to explain. She gives out class outlines before class so you will always know what she covered; however she doesn't post powerpoints so go to class or have a friend go for you. You don't need the book.
Dr. T is awesome! She is so nice and really cares about her students. Her lectures are interesting, and as long as you study the study guides she gives you, the tests are easy!
She knows what she's talking about, but her lectures are boring because she has this kindergarten teacher voice and talks very slow. The material in this class wasn't helpful, either, as it was very boring. Her tests, however, are pretty fair, but you have to read the book!
The class requires a lot of reading in my opinion. She offers study guides which are very useful, and you can gather the information from the book. The tests I got As on I read the chapters and did the study guide and practice test. Very nice teacher, I would go to class because you get random assignments.
The lectures are irrelevant and the recitations ARE HORRIBLE. The only thing the tests are based on are the text book which she never tells you. There's a ridiculous amount of homework that is sent out with little to no notification. I highly recommend finding another professor for intro to psych because this was terrible. Literally terrible.
I really loved Natasha. Probably my fav professor of the semester. You can tell she is really passionate about the material and her lectures are interesting. She gives thorough study guides for each test, as long as you fill them out you should be fine for an A or A-. If you want that A+ you might need to put in more time. I never did the reading.
Dr. T made psych very fun! Her tests are not hard if you study and know the material. She gives out study guides and practice tests which are helpful. The final is optional. The class isn't mandatory but she will randomly give attendance points. I would highly recommend her for psych!
She is literally the best option for psych. She even gave points back on some of the tests if there were discrepancies on questions. She puts study guides online but some information on the tests were only given in class. If you want an A then read the book throughly but if you want to just pass the class you don't have to have it. Why not though?
I absolutely loved Professor Tokowicz. We had 4 tests and the final was optional. Before each test she'd give out a study guide of everything you needed to know. She is absolutely adorable. You have to pay attention and come to lecture though. She says a lot in lecture that is not in the text book. Also, get and read the textbook or you won't pass.
I took intro to psych with tokowicz and i really hated it. I am not good at psych and definitely never plan on taking it again, but she just made her tests very conceptual. i found her to be quit boring and lacking in the "cool" psychology we all think of when we take a psych class. Overall, I learned not as much as i thought i would.
I really liked her a lot. Her tests were pretty easy, optional final, and if you go to lectures and read the book it will be an easy A. I only read parts of the book that I thought were confusing concepts. Easy class and nice professor.
She is very willing to help you and includes her own outlines in her textbook. She has office hours and is always there and willing to take as much time as you need, she doesn't just rush you out after one question. Her lectures are very helpful, and necessary for doing well on the tests. She posts her outline she uses during lecture online.
I absolutely loved her intro to psych class. 4 tests with an optional final. She gives an outline of exactly what is on the test. She is really knowledgable and a very nice person. Textbook and class are necessary because she talks about things in lecture that are not in the book. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher!
Dr T. is awesome! Very welcoming and wants to help, makes every topic seem easy by going slow through lectures and explaining hard topics thouroughly. She is very honest about what to expect for tests and answers any questions you have. Also, my section was a 2:30 - 3:45 but in the first class she said we will end everyday by 3:20. Tests so easy.
Outstanding professor, sometimes lecture can get boring but Dr. T is the best professor I have had here and I would recommend her to anyone taking a psychology class.
Such a good professor. She makes great study guides, and the information that wasn't taught in lecture is listed in the study guide and then you can read about it in the textbook. She's very pragmatic. Some of the questions on the test are hard, as expected. Recitation is very helpful as well as all of her review sessions. LOVED THIS CLASS & PROF!
This class was an absolute joke. There was very little help offered until after the tests when they would just tell you what you got wrong. Thanks, but I could've used this before I got a D on the test. Wouldn't recommend this teacher to anyone. There are way better professors in the psych department.
Great Professor. She's super nice and approachable. Her tests are very easy, especially if you study. Her lectures can get a little boring, but she makes the material very understandable. She drops your lowest test grade and the final is optional. Take her if you can!
Her lectures are easily understood, she explains things really well and even sometimes does interactive explanations despite having many people within the classroom. She gives you study guides of everything that will be on the test as well. She does in-class assignments for a grade sometimes but it's simple surveys etc (aka grade booster)
There are definitely easier Psych professors at Pitt. She is okay, but not the best option. However she does create useful study guides that outline everything on the exams, problem is those exams are pretty tough. Lectures can get boring.
Dr. T is amazing!!! She gives lots of extra credit opportunities, and for all of her tests, she uploads specific study guides onto Courseweb that make it impossible for you to get less than a B on her tests so long as you study. She's also a great teacher. 10/10, would recommend.
I loved this class. I thought lectures were very interesting and she usually broke them up with videos. Make sure you go to class because almost everything on the tests are directly from her lectures. Tests are pretty easy if you study using the online study guide she provides. There are many easy extra credit opportunities as well.
Psyc is really easy. As long as you show up, take notes, and study what is on the study guide you will do well. I studied the day before for every exam and still got an A. Basically just memorization.
Material that was going to be on the exams was very clear and most of the time came from lecture. As long as you go to class and take good notes you will probably do well on the exams. I would recommend this professor to anyone taking intro to psych.
Dr. T tries really hard to make into psych relevant and interesting. Pay attention to in class examples and do the study guides and you'll get an A
Tests were tricky only because the wording could be weird or it was just a stupid question. Lecture was interesting but recitation was awful. She throws some nice political views in occasionally although not what I signed up for. Should stick to objective material. Includes lots of videos that are helpful and does in class participation surveys
Dr. T is a very interesting lecturer with reasonable tests. The lectures are necessary because she doesnt put the powerpoints online. The tests aren't bad and i would have probably thought were easy if i had just read the book but with the extra credit she gives i still think it was an easy class
Tokowicz was a really easy and very interesting professor. Lectures were clear and easy to follow, and really prepared for the tests. Memorize the information and be able to apply it, but overall tests were really easy. Also responded quickly to emails. Also makes some savage jokes in class that are really hilarious.
Great professor! If you listen carefully in class, read the textbook, and take diligent notes, you will do well. Her lectures are enjoyable and she is invested in your learning. Would take again!
Super sweet prof but she found out some people cheated on the first exam and made the following exams exponentially harder which was kind of petty. Lecture attendance wasnt mandatory and if you just watch them before the exam youll be fine. She takes really long pauses so the actual lecture is usually 30-45 min.
Natasha is amazing! She's very understanding of students' situations -- attendance is optional (at least online), lectures are recorded and posted afterwards, and the textbook is open-source. Plus she's a very caring person and never makes you feel inferior for getting things wrong or asking obvious questions.
avoid her, she is bad
She is the worst
She isn't bad at teaching the material as such. I felt like she had trouble delivering her point and would fumble a little with her words. There was a slight problem with cheating and she overreacted over it a tiny bit. She wasn't clear enough about what she wanted and the students had to go through an unnecessary amount of trouble.
Dr. Tokowicz said we were allowed to work with other students on the exams and posted a link to a group chat for us to collaborate, and then accused students who used the group chat she shared with us of cheating. Thankfully, the dean stepped in and gave us a less harsh punishment since her expectations were very unclear, but yeah, avoid her.
She's a really good lecturer and makes the material easy to understand. Tests are pretty easy and as long as you participate and do assignments you'll succeed in the class. Also, emails are responded to fairly quickly and she seems to really enjoy her job.
This class is exceedingly easy to pass. As long as you take notes on the lectures (also easy, take 45 minutes tops), have the textbook, your notes, and Google, you'll pass the tests. Dr. Tokowicz is a respectable lecturer, gives ample time for students to take notes and ask questions, gives little homework and prepares students well for her tests.
Never went to class, but took notes on lectures before the tests. Liked that she gave study guides for the tests so I knew what to take notes online. If you have txtbook, notes, and web you will pass the tests. I never studied, but I did take notes on recorded lectures which helped a lot on the tests. Overall, v easy class.
Do not take Natasha for psychology. Test questions are unclear and subject to multiple interpretations.
Tests were open book/note, but my classmates agree that they were still unfair. Questions were unclear and left to multiple interpretations. Hard to contact- strict with grades. Means well, but difficult to do well.
Skim through the (free) textbook and take lecture notes and you'll be fine. She speaks very slowly so I preferred to watch the lectures on panopto at 2x speed but participation in class doesn't matter. Really nice and helps you out if you're in a different time zone.
I feel as though this class would have been better in person. She definitely tried to engage students and did many polls to keep you thinking. However, make sure you get the psych studies soon as soon as possible because I made this mistake and ran out of studies at the end and did not recieve full credit.
I feel as though she sometimes got kind of snippy over email and her tests were so much different than the content. I would do the study guides and then the tests would be kind of difficult, and she would bring up very specfic things we did not talk about in class. Honestly, I would be happy when I recieved a C on the tests.
Definitely need to show up to lectures because that's where you'll get all the information for exams... except the exams were harder than they should've been given the material. Take lots of notes! - literally write down everything on the slide, study for exams, and you'll be fine. Also... she appears nice but kinda snippy...
I really like Natasha! After reading some reviews on here, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with her level of difficulty (and she is a pretty challenging teacher). However, I am happy with my grade and how much I learned from her class. She is tough but very nice. She gives extra credit, which is a lifesaver.
