Inconsistent, unclear and extremely moody. You must pretend that you "feel" everything and are "moved" by the theatre and write exactly what she is thinking -- which is totally impossible. Stay away from this one.
If you want to write a research paper on theatre than take this class. She definitely takes the fun out of theatre...If you want to get a C take this class..
Was out on maternity leave for 6 weeks and we had guest lecturers. Prof. is still learning how to teach, but does love theatre and is a working actor (I think). A little cranky but as I said very pregnant in first weeks of term and a new mom in last. Several easy tests and other 'projects' that are graded. Loved the guest lectures.
Theater police! Had more work in her class than in my English courses and I am an English major! You can't enjoy the plays because you are trying to take notes on every little detail so you can write pages on it later. She can be nice, but spiteful if she is crossed or she doesn't feel like you are in love with the class. Easy quizes.
So I started the class thinking that it was going to be fun,but I've realized that this class is annoying. She is unclear with what she wants and it makes us look stupid b/c we get a bad grade on an assignment when she didn't give us a clear, precise way she wants things done.I respect her as a teacher, but in the future she should make things clear
She is a nice lady but this class requires ALOT of time for an acting class. At times alot of the work is unneccessary in my opinion. Sometimes she is unclear about what she wants and then can get mad. She grades easy on actual acting assignments but hard on writing assignments. There is a good amount of reading required.
Um, this class is amazingly easy. If you come to class and complete the assignments on time and use your brain you will make an A. The only drawback is the 4 performances you have to see outside of class. It's really not that big of a deal. Plus, she offers a ton of extra credit. Take her!
This class was really easy and she is really passionate about what she teaches. Sometimes the lectures get a little boring but the tests and quizzes are easy. Just expect to put in a lot of time for the final play, which isn't bad as long as you just do the work, which is stated step by step in the guidelines. Overall, fun class, ended up with an A
Prog G gets a bad rap on here because of the final assignment, which is very easy!! Her class is a easy A. Just make sure you see your plays and turn your papers in ON TIME!! She grades pretty fairly.
Text not really used in class, but all quizzes are from the text. I agree w/ others that she isn't clear on what she expects & then does get a little upset about asking again. Class takes A LOT of your time for a required elective. Requires formal & informal papers, grades hard on those. Group project for final, start early on it. Don't fall behind
A mess. An absolute mess. She is so disorganized and completely useless when it comes to grades. You don't really focus on acting at all and it's hard to understand what she wants since she is awful at telling you what she wanted.
Had to drop. Everything is online and disorganized.
I like Ms. Giardina. She gives work but if you're there in class it's not hard and very easy to pass if you're interested.
As a mandatory class for my major i thought this was an easy A. I was def. mistaken, you have a online quiz every week on the storys which are lengthy. Sh is soo enthusiastic with her lectures its not even funny. Like an energizer bunny on meds. Overall, i did enjoy the group project we had fun collaborating our ideas. NO need to buy the textbook
Show up to class if you want a good grade on the final. Even though its a traditional 2 day per week class, she teaches it as if it were a hybrid. WAY TOO MANY online discussions and assignments. It is easily comparable to a hybrid/online class. All tests are online if that is comforting.
She is not a bad professor, quite enthusiastic about her teaching and that's not all bad. One problem I had was mood swings ,one day you come to class and she is pissed of about something and the class will pay.It happened a couple of times this semester, and didn't like it at all.Other than that do the work you will be fine :)
Way too much work for a theater class. Assignments are far too in depth and don't really end up teaching you anything. She is a nice professor, but don't take this class as an elective or anything. I ended up doing more work in her class than I did in my other upper level classes.
This does NOT seem like an entry level course. It made me HATE theater. Her assignments are absolutely ridiculous and way too involved. In the beginning of the course she says it will not be easy, but most teachers say that. She's not kidding. It's not that the material is that difficult to comprehend, the assignments are just mind-boggling.
Awful teacher. One of those classes that doesnt really matter yet she makes it way harder than necessary. I would avoid.
I was extremely disappointed in how convoluted the class was. Absolutely all over the place and unnecessary. I love Theatre and absolutely hated this class.
I agree, this class is way too involved for a required, freshman level class (weekly quizzes, 4 posts on each discussion board, tests, papers, etc!). But I thought I would hate this class and I ended up kinda enjoying it. Anyone who can BS a little can get by in this class. TWO extra credit opportunities. It doesn't get much easier
I had this class online and it was a pain from day one! Under any circumstance do not take this class . It is next to impossible to find out what the due dates are and it is convoluted in trying to respond to any of the discussions because she hides the other people's responses. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
The work in & of itself is not hard (if you are a creative person) but she makes the class super involved like if we were all theater majors. she has this admirable passion for her field but unrealistically expects students to share her passion & you kinda have to fake the funk a little to get a good grade. Overall not the best but not the worst.
This professor sure knows her stuff! The course was surprising. I've never been into theatre but she makes it so interesting. One of the plays I saw was amazing! It's not a hard class. I'm not quite sure why others have said so? Her directions and navigation for an online class are easy to follow. Seems like she really cares about her students.
I'm surprised by some of these ratings. I just finished taking her online summer course. It was condensed and was totally great.
I was unhappy about having to take TPS in order to graduate. I only chose this class because it seemed a little more interesting than dance, art or music. However, after about two weeks I was hooked. Professor Giardina did an amazing job teaching. As a result, I see a play at least once a month. Without a doubt, this was my favorite core course.
I am glad to have this opportunity to congratulate Professor Giardina on a successful course and relating the material to our lives and experiences. I found the lessons useful and they increased my appreciation for all forms of theater.
She gives a lot of work to do. A LOT of reading. It seems like she grades based off her mood because I am very consistent with my work and her grading varies from me getting a 100 or 90. She gives a quiz every week that is 100% textbook based. If you email her with questions, she responds back with an attitude, like you can feel her being annoyed.
This course was different. At first I didn't think I would like it, but ended up really looking forward to each week. Very interesting. Plus, I had a couple of personal issues pop-up during the semester and the professor was very kind, understanding and forgiving. The is not hard, just do the weekly assignments an you will be fine.
I learned a lot from Professor Giardina! She responded quickly to emails, and was very helpful. She grades tough but thats because she wants the best from you. I really enjoyed her class!
She is a tough grader, but if she sees that you put in effort, you can get a really good grade in this class. The quizzes are all based off the text so there is a lot of reading involved. I did not get a good grade because I did not put in the effort. At the end of the year, she let me make up a lot of assignments so I could pass the class.
Outstanding course and instructor. Made me want to study more theater and become more involved in this art form. Definitely a must for enriching all our studies in a college. Teaches about our global life with all the cultural input from a variety of plays. Encourage others to be challenged and intrigued!
This professor makes this class too hard for a general education requirement. She grades really tough. The assignments are so extra especially for an online class too. I would have rather taken it in person, and I bet it wouldn't have been this hard. I ended up dropping the class because it was more work than any of my other actual important ones.
This professor I believe expects too much from a Gen-Ed class. I actually spent more time doing assignments for this class, than any other class this semester. And, I'm a junior. She's nice, but her grading sometimes is questionable. Be advised before you take her.
This course was one of the more enjoyable Gen-Eds I've taken. Very moderate workload with chapter quizzes and online discussions each week. Assignments can be complicated but instructions and feedback are very detailed, so you shouldn't have many problems. Projects require some effort and creativity but are fun to do. Would definitely take again.
I took this class online and did not expect much of it. But once I got the hang of everything this turned out to be an easy class, and a fun one. I was truly surprised. Professor Giardina is very responsive to any questions asked and grades very fairly. Happy that I got the chance to take this class!
When I first took this class, I expected it to be an easy A. I was definitely mistaken. However, if you are willing to put the work in you will get an enlightening and interesting experience. I really enjoyed this class!
I enjoyed this course immensely. My knowledge of theatre was quite limited and taking this course enriched my appreciation of this art. I would highly recommend others to take this course and see how it expands your vision of your world and the world of others. Kudos to Ms. Giardina!
Great class! Didnt expect an online theatre class to be this fun. Shows on campus were great. I would recommend this professor to my friends.
Awesome class! Ms. Giardina is great, shes fair and truly desires her students to succeed. I began this class with what I thought was a good understanding of performance, but came to realize that it was far from the truth. This class opened my eyes and gave me a true appreciation and understanding for theater/art/performance. Thanks!
Professor Giardina makes learning about theatre less intimidating. I was apprehensive, but am so glad that I took her course. The course is interesting and the topics, for me, were eye-opening. I especially liked reading the various plays, which I would never have ever chosen for myself. I was pleasantly surprised. Instructions and feedback good.
Professor Giardina is a wonderful Professor. She cares about her students immensely and is willing to help if youre willing to put in the work. I would take her many more times if I could. I encourage taking this Professor because itll be worth it.
This class wasn't a ton of work, but it will feel like a lot if you procrastinate. Discussion posts and one quiz are due every Sunday night. You pretty much have to have the textbook. The class is actually a lot of fun, which is rare with an online class. Professor is sooo nice and wants you to make an A. Shes VERY understanding and loves her job!
Theater has never been my thing. I have a new perspective. I actually enjoyed the plays and the course. I learned lots about the various facets of performance and theater. It was interesting and engaging. The professor was pretty cool too. Passionate about the subject, cares about her students and communicates really well.
Professor Giardina was a great teacher. When I needed more understanding she responded quickly to my emails and gave me great feedback and directions. Yes there are assignments and chapter test do every week. You will need everything that Is in the syllabus. If I had to take this class again I would take it with professor Giardina. Easy grade!
Great teacher! She is very fair and supportive. Don't be afraid of the assignments, she is very supportive and just wants you to experience the arts. She creates a safe and comfortable class which is important when you are out of your comfort zone. Take Professor G's class!!
Professor Giardina is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. With clear grading criteria and detailed feedback, you are guaranteed to succeed in this class. She makes the class very interactive and interesting in order to engage the students. She is very caring and is easily accessible. Very consistent and helpful!
Took professor Giardina in the fall of 2018 and I loved her. Between my constant emails and questions she was always quick to respond and would take the time to explain things. Make sure you take all the extra credit opportunities and give feedback to your classmates. Loved her and would take her again.
This class was a lot of work for what I was expecting out of an online class. Her rubrics are straight forward and is quick to reply to emails. Extra credit opportunities are given. There is a reading each week and reading quizzes along with discussion posts of some sort
Hardest Theatre class I've ever seen. Lots of work prepare for that.
This class was ten times the amount of work of all my other classes combined. We had reading quizzes with lockdown browser, but the worst part was our lecture responses. As the semester went on they got more difficult and changed to different websites we had to use. The instructions were long and unclear and so beyond in depth. She graded unfairly.
Took her online for theater and it was the easiest A ever. She does not expect too much but you do have to read the chapter's in the book because thats what the quizzes are over. discussion posts are not too bad you'll have to put some thought into it. other than that she's an all around great professor.
Professor Giardina is an amazing professor! She really cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed with an A. Class is based on reading comprehension quizzes, discussion posts, a play, and final exam portions spread over the semester. Seems work heavy, but it's actually really fun and easy! There's no reason to not get an A in her class.
Professor Giardina is a very caring and helpful teacher. She is always willing to help you if you are struggling. If you do the work, you will make an A. Not going to lie, it is a decent amount of work, but if you put some time in you will be fine.
Class was WAY TOO MUCH WORK for a gen ed . If you want this class to take away from all your other classes , take it . You cant slide by , it requires lots of work . She is very kind and knowledgeable on the subject . However , I spent more time on theatre assignments than assignments for my major classes .
This was an elective course for my undergrad, but I must say it was one of my favorite classes I've taken! I am not intrinsically drawn to Theater & Performance, but Professor Giardina did an amazing job at encouraging her class to open their minds and think about what art really is and how it connects our cultures and communities!
What a nice surprise! This course was inspirational. Loved learning about various forms of performance and cultural theatre. Professor Giardina is passionate too. She loves her content and this is motivational. She is clear, caring and concise. I would definitely take again.
The teacher was awesome, but the workload was a lot for a theater class. Must attend plays. You begin working on your final exam, making a movie, within the first month of starting the class. It will take you the whole semester to complete it. Some discussion boards turned out to be 5-page papers to answer all her questions.
Professor Giardina genuinely cares about her students and loves her profession, which makes it a very fun course. She is very easy to communicate with and always willing to help you. Course load is not super heavy with weekly reading quizzes and homework assignments, but it will give you a new appreciation for theater. I would take again definitely
Professor Giardina genuinely cares about her students and loves her profession, which makes it a very fun course. She is very easy to communicate with and always willing to help you. This course will give you a new appreciation for theater. I would take again definitely if I had the chance
Professor Giardina has a unique course. The interactive components to this online course make it inspiring using different types of activitiesSo many interesting perspectives to art, performance, and theatre. I highly recommend her and this course.
This Professor was honestly an easy A as long as you read your book and do the work. She was constantly giving extra credit throughout the semester. I would take her again because she cared about each off her students.
Too much for a gen ed fr. I had to drop her class cause she was asking for too much. She is the type of teacher who has multiple parts just for 1 question. Likw 1a,1b,....1f.
It took everything in me not to drop this class at every point in the semester. She is extremely caring & loves her profession, but this is not an easy A class whatsoever. You're going to have to work extremely hard in this class to make a good grade. I definitely shed tears! She is an extremely harsh grader and has extremely long criteria. Beware!
Professor Giardina is honestly one of the best professors Ive had at KSU. This course is unique and intriguing. I was surprised at how much I learned and how interesting it was. Her online course is well organized. The live performances are cool too. I definitely recommend her and this course.
Really enjoyed this course. Excellent elective which enriches understanding about theater arts. Recommend to any major to have this as part of their studies.
Giardina didn't really teach; the recorded lectures were just her reading from the slides and then rambling. Horrible communicator; there were several instances where she obviously copy-pasted instructions from previous assignments onto new ones or didn't update the due dates. When clarification was requested, she was unhelpful and useless.
With the amount of work assigned and the way this professor grades, you would this was a 4000 level theater major class. Took it as an elective box for my major and spent more time on this than any of my much more important classes. Final was 3 parts- one of which was a play written, recorded, and performed by YOU uploaded to Youtube.
Way too much work for a gen ed class. Has very specific guidelines for everything. Gives A LOT of busywork and much of it is very time-consuming. On the bright side, most test questions can be found online. Do not take this class unless you're very passionate about theatre ... passionate enough to take an elective class that has 3x the course work.
She just gives so much extra work that is so unnecessary. There's an assignment every other week and you'll end up having to write basically an essay to get full points. Even then you aren't guaranteed to get a good grade if you don't make all your comments on other people's assignments. It's ridiculous.
if I could use profanity I would. the sassiest, rudest, most extra professor I've ever had. avoid her like the plague
Professor Giardina is amazing! It is clear that she is passionate about her subject. I left this course inspired about art, performance and theatre. I learned things about performance in other cultures, which was new to me. The plays we read were very interesting as well. I didn't think I would like reading a play. I really liked this class.
Compassionate. Cares about her students. So helpful. Every time I emailed her with a question, she was quick to respond and willing to help. I learned so much from this class. I have a new appreciation for theatre and performance. I loved the assignments because they were more creative. Highly recommend her and the class.
Great professor, always available and willing to work with you to resolve issues. Even with the crazy stuff going on this semester. Ive told all my friends to take this class.
Excellent course. Learned many new things in theatre and skills to use in other studies. Loved the creativity in teaching. Highly recommend this instructor.
I took this class online and learned a lot! It is obvious that Professor Giardina is passionate about what she does. I believe she won the KSU Part-time Faculty award a few years ago. She wants you to succeed and will respond quickly to questions/emails. You have to do the work, but what is expected is clear and she is fair.
I really liked Professor Giardina. She was clear and I learned many things about art, performance, & theatre. The plays we read were enjoyable. The performances we saw were really cool. I was pleasantly surprised.
One of the best online courses Ive taken! Plus, the professor is clear and cares. Highly recommend her and this class.
I was surprised at how much I really liked this online course! The professor is is easy going and helpful.
The best online course I have taken. The content and delivery were pleasantly unexpected and unique. Very engaging. The professor is dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable and undrestanding.
Great online class. Probably one of the best online classes I have taken. Surprisingly, for an online course, it was very engaging. I enjoyed it a lot. Professor knows her subject well. Great communication as well.
Best online class Ive taken at KSU.
Really great professor. Loved this course. It was not a subject I gravitate to, but Professor Giardina made it engaging. There are creative type assiggnments. Not a hard course really. Professor is an expert at her content and a caring individual.
From currently taking this class, I'm shocked that the previous reviews are so positive. Very demanding amount of work (mostly feels like busywork), more so than my upper-level major classes. I was actually looking forward to this class, but the fun has pretty much been sucked out of it. If you work full time, I would NOT recommend this prof.
I loved this class! However, we had to read a LOT for the textbook, and we read a few short plays. This class focuses a lot on creativity as well, and we had a lot of long assignments. I probably did more work for this class than all of my others. But, it was fun work, and she isnt a harsh grader. Take her if youre creative!
I was surprised at how much i loved this course. Professor Giardina's online course is unique, inviting and allows for many perspectives and voices to be known and heard. The plays we read and saw were inspiring. Professor Giardina is encouraging too. I highly recommend this course and professor.
For an online class it was unique and fun. It's more interactive than most online classes. I was surprised at how much I ended up liking the topics and assignments. Professor is great. She communicates well and answers questions in a timely manner. You can tell she cares about how well her students do. I especially enjoyed the plays we read.
Great online class. Not hard. fascinating topics that have to do with performance and theatre. Surprising performances even thought they weren't live b/c covid. Professor Giardina is great. She is clear.
Best online class. Clear. Easy. Professor is great too. The plays we read were unique and inspiring. I learned a lot and enjoyed it.
Granted, there is a lot of busy work for an online theater class- it isn't hard by any means. It is all just time consuming becuase she requires very specific grading qualities. However, at the end of the day she is a solid choice for online TPS1107. Just do the work as she says you will be just fine!
If you have no interest in theatre, and were planning on taking this class for fun, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Total grade is based on several 'padlet' assignments that are honestly exhausting to get through. You have to watch performances and then sort of do a short essay on it. All in all, way too much effort required for a gen ed, intro class.
Professor Giardina is a sweet lady, however she is not very tech-savvy and I have had issues with her not being able to find my work despite having prof to show that I submitted it. There are a lot of Padlets and Quizzes you have to do. If you read what you are supposed to, they shouldnt be too bad.
Excellent course. Excellent professor. Passionate about her subject. This course is interactive and unique for an online course. Professor is always prompt in answering emails and communicating. She is very understanding. I feel enriched for having taken this course.
Good, easy A. Just follow what the syllabus, no brained.
I really liked this class and wasn't sure I would. It had many unique perspectives on world performance types. I learned how community is fostered through performance. I had never looked at performance in this way. I always thought it was huge entertaining type things, but discovered it could be simple. The plays we read and watched were cool too.
Overall this class was not easy. You have to do the work in order to pass. The test are straightforward for the most part. You MUST read. There's a lot of grades which made it easier to get an A. Overall I would take this course again.
Surprising great course! Professor made the online course interactive which made it engaging and fun. Loved reading and seeing the live plays. It has inspired me and my family to see more live performances and theatre.
Professor Giardina is awesome. There IS a good bit of work to do, but she lays it all clearly and literally step-by-step tells you what she's looking for with each paragraph of each assignment. She's very enthusiastic, so the lectures are fun to watch. If you do the work as assigned, it's an easy A. There are 0 surprises or gotchas.
Best online course I've taken at KSU. Clear to follow. Also, the course content was engaging and interesting. Professor is super helpful and nice. Highly recommend.
Professor Giardina was amazing. I've been taking online classes for a while and this was one of the best. I'm not the biggest fan of theatre but her connections to culture and theatre were engaging especially since the plays that you connect with. The workload was quizzed every week and padlets every other week. A very interactive and kind prof.
Professor Giardina makes an online course fun & interactive! I actually ended up really enjoying the course more than I thought I would bc of the creative assignments and final exam performance project. Learning about other cultures' performance forms was really interesting. Probably the best online course I've taken at KSU. Highly recommend.
One of the best online courses I've taken. Not a hard course. Professor Giardina is knowledgable & provides clear instructions. I learned much about performance forms from various cultures which ended up being interesting. The performances I saw & the plays we read were inspiring. Professor G seems to care about her students too. Highly recommend.
Took her online theater class and that was a mistake. There is a lot of busy work for a required (online) class. Discussion posts, writing and filming your own play, and long chapter quizzes, and attending 2 mandatory plays. If you are not an arts major, I do not recommend her.
Best online course so far at KSU -engaging, captivating; not typical. Enjoyed exploring plays and diverse performances. The challenging performance project proved highly rewarding with skills applicable to my future. Assignments are creatively stimulating yet not overly difficult. Highly recommend.
Overall pretty chill teacher. You could just read the chapters and pass the class. Honestly just do the work and don't slack.
Professor Giardina is a very nice, caring; and enthusiastic lady but her workload is like MFA level
Overall decent professor. Your grade is mostly dependent on quizzes, a project, one major test (based on the quizzes), and lots of discussion posts. Most of the work can be completed fairly quickly and is not very challenging if you read the material. If you turn everything in on time and follow the listed criteria you will 100% get an A!
Best online course I've taken! I learned much about performance including non-traditional performance forms and performance forms around the globe. Seeing the live plays instead of recorded was inspirational. I am grateful for my new appreciation for live theatrical performances and will being seeing more live theatre in the future.
Professor Giardina was not great. She gave a lot of busy work. I was doing more work for her class than all of my other classes combined. Her lectures were long and repetitive, and she was an extremely tough grader. She did give extra credit though, so at least there's that.
Professor Giardina makes this engaging online class worth taking, even for non-theatre majors. The course content is captivating, and unstuck AI was a game-changer for study prep.
Nice and clear expectations
The class was online; she gave us at least one assignment per week, which was not so bad. You do have to read, but some of the readings were actually interesting. She gave us extra credit too, so it wasn't terrible. (still kinda mad about my final grade :/ )
Not worth taking her class, find another professor. Besides the unbelievable amount of work, long lectures, discussion posts, assignments, and long quizzes, she requires you to watch two plays, one can be online and the other in person. On top of that she is a tough grader.
I understand that a 4 week summer class has to move faster than a full 15 week semester or even 8 week course, but good god, it is an insane amount of work.
Good lawd this is probably one of the worst professors I have had in a while. I get that the course is 4 weeks long and is supposed to be condensed for time purposes but oh my god. She is such a harsh grader too, I can't remember the last time a teacher has knocked 5 points off of my paper because I forgot a comma. Stear clear take art or dance.
This course was a surprise. I didn't expect to enjoy it, but Professor Giardina made everything clear & engaging. The creative assignments helped me understand the process of staging live theatre, which I knew nothing about before. Now I actually want to see more live performances. One of the best online classes at Kennesaw. Highly recommend.
Theatre in Society was one of the best courses I've taken. Professor Giardina was inspiring and passionate, introducing us to global performance traditions. The plays (Love Suicides at Sonezaki, Ruined, Pipeline) were captivating, and the performance projects broadened my appreciation for theatre's power to connect and reflect humanity.
Online class - DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. SO much work discussion posts, watching plays, excessive writing, nah don't take it. Professor was great though, she will negotiate with you if you communicate. She's great but the classwork was insane for an ONLINE class. Nah, then you gotta make your own play @ the end and comment on other people.
Amazing class. Wasn't expecting it. Most of the work is creative with some reading quizzes and a final exam performance project. I took the 7 week course which moved at a fast pace so the 15 week may be even easier. Professor G is supportive and helpful.
For an ONLINE THEATER 8 WEEK COURSE, the workload is ridiculous. The course is clearly designed for someone who is only taking this class. So far, absurd amount of work that is way too excessive given the material. The general knowledge tests are subjective. Overall, highly recommend steering away from this class. It will not help your GPA!!
I am enjoying this course. The 7-week version does move at a very condensed fast pace (15 week course condensed into 7 weeks) but overall it's interesting and enjoyable. It is surprising me which is refreshing for an online course. It's not hard.
i'm still taking the class so there's no grade yet, but i wouldn't recommend taking this class unless you're also taking really easy classes on the side. there's so much hw it's actually insane, not to mention quizzes on the side as well (some you have to make urself). only took it cuz art in society was worse and i needed the credit.
The content was very interesting to me, even as a marketing major. Any questions I had she answered very quickly via email and was always understanding even if my question was dumb. There was a lot of writing in the class and there is ZERO ai use allowed. Be ready to watch plays, not just read their sparknotes, and then write detailed reflections.
I'm still taking this 7-week accelerated course and expect to earn an A. It's dense but the concepts are manageable and interesting. I loved exploring different plays and especially the non-Western performances that were new to me. Overall, I recommend it; the 15-week version would feel less intense.
This class surprised me. Not gonna lie, it took me a little out of my comfort zone, in a good way. I learned about other cultures' performance types and got to learn the process of creating a piece of live theatre. Some assignments are creative and some ask for us to analyze a performance. Making the performance for the final was fun.
I took a 7-week online course, and I knew going into it that the class would move at a faster pace, meaning more work, but I definitely underestimated. Just be ready to read and, if you can, do the extra credit. Just a heads up, this class is not like many online courses, where you could get by without reading the textbook.
Different online class, but a great experience. It's more interactive than most, with interesting content on global performance forms and unique plays that isn't overly challenging. Assignments are creative with reading quizzes, and the professor is engaged and communicative. I took the 7-week version, which was condensed and fast-paced.
