Great professor, explains everything, does plenty of examples on the board and goes step by step how to solve it. Jokes around to losen up the class and makes it a great enviroment. Average homework, and doesn't use calculators but helps you find ways how not to depend on them! Best Math teacher so far! Will look for him for my Math 4B class

I was scared going back into Calculus after my last professor but this guy makes Calculus fun. I was so amazed that he can teach Calc so clearly. Also he is quite a joker during lecture. :D Going to class everyday and doing your homework daily is key to passing his class.

Ok, very good professor who livens up lectures with the occasional joke. Very helpful. He's there to help you. Do not take the class if you aren't willing to do at least 5 hours of homework a week. His tests aren't overly difficult but they are designed to see if you get all the material. Take this professor if you can!

He will spend the time outside of class to help you, and he often reads the class and can tell if the class understands the material or not. Math5A is a difficult subject. Thankfully, Mr. Allen is a very entertaining and great teacher. He teaches the mathematical expressionsformulas and the conceptstheorems very clearly. He's great at teaching math and very funny, but sometimes treats college students as if they were high school students. His class is enjoyable, he's always in a good mood and plus he's smoking hot. 3. Wish he would redo his homework assignment sheet, sometimes it's confusing because there's no line separating the #s.

Allen is a great teacher. I hate math, but he teaches it in a way you'll understand. I took him at FSU. He doesn't assign much homework, but he does grade hard on it. You wont always get a perfect score. We only have about 3 tests and the final is optional. Overall he's great and he's there to help you. Oh and I wouldn't miss his class.

Allen is an absolutely AMAZING math teacher. I heard he's doing more online and lower level classes now and I could think was "What a waste of talent." His teaching style is incredibly clear and he keeps everything light and fun. He makes it clear that its, "Us against the math" and there's nobody else I'd rather have on my side.

I took him online, all i needed was the mystatlab. finish the class two weeks ahead, finial is optional, ( will replace your lowest grade) 3 midterms. Yeah, he's a handsome guy. But more importantly, he's the kind of handsome guy that you would want as a wingman. He's well spoken, funny, helpful, and cool. He's that guy that when he's around, you just unintentionally up your game a little bit. He won't seal the deal for you, but as long as you apply yourself, you'll go home with an A+.

Allen is one of the best math teachers at FCC. He is willing to work with you one on one if your struggling. He also lets you use a page of notes for the midterms and final and drops your lowest one. which really helps boost final grade for students that are struggling.

Mr. Allen is a great instructor overall. I took a full semester of Math 4A . We were required to get an online access code for mymathlab (around $100) to complete the chapter homeworks. The e-textbook came with the online account. All tests and exams were multiple choice. He is entertaining, competent, and nice. Highly recommend him.

Allen's class is the easiest I've ever taken. You don't have to show up, the homework is online, and for some of the tests he allows you to use a sheet of notes. I didn't have a calculator on the final and I got a B, that's how easy this class is. Plus he's super hot and nice. A little weird at times though.

Easy class if you have a decent understanding of the concepts. He tries to make himself available prior to tests, good with responding to emails. Will drop your lowest test score out of three, but requires you take all three. No calculator necessary for tests. Allows one full sheet, front and back, of notes with each test. Lots of HW each week.

Took his online class for Math 4B. Lecture videos are outdate videos made in the 80's on MyMathLab through Pearson but don't explain the concepts well enough to prepare you for the homework. However, online videos and asking him will get you through the homework. 3 exams that are worth 50% of your grade so be sure to do well on those.

He honestly makes math seem so easy and will help you out as much as he can! there is no reason to not pass his class. he also has a good sense of humor. Highly recommend him to those who may struggle on math!

Mr. Allen clearly cares about his students. He responds to emails within a day. Online class so you work when it is convenient for you. Assignments given on Monday and due on Sunday. Holds online study group before Midterms and Final. Reopened quizzes before final to redo and improve score.

i couldnt recommend a better math teacher. this man is brilliant in his own intellectual way. he is willing to sit down with you and make sure you personally understand the material. as long as you put in the effort as a student, he will definitely spot you as a great teacher. its a shame that the school wont let him teach higher math levels.

He is passionate, fun, and explains the lecture very well and organized but his quizzes and exams are heavy. I was on his waitlist and added to this class but finally I had to drop with a W because this class was very stressful. I went to the tutor and did all homework but still got an F, therefore, I dropped with a W maybe a better choice. So sad

Its hard to find that in an instructor, one that has the thorough knowledge of why things are used, why things happen, and how things happen. If you have to take Calc, you have to take Allen. He tries his absolute best to make the material understandable, and he makes everything very clear. He wants you to succeed and it shows. Calc is a HARD class but Allen's lectures are very clear and he takes it all very slow. Be sure to do the homework and study guides and you'll be much better off.

Professor Allen makes math fun and easy to learn. I've never had a math teacher like him and would implore you to take his classes. He uses a lot of dad humor in the class and the levity is appreciated, but you can tell he's put a lot of work into his lectures and is genuinely concerned about his students' success.

Professor Allen was a very good lecturer. His prerecorded videos offered a majority of the help for homework assignments and the weekly GQ meet further reinforced some of the concepts. It was always wise to do the homework ahead of time and he was always available during his office hours throughout the weeks for help. Would highly recommend!

Great class to take! In Mr. Allen's class, you will need to watch videos in order to understand what you are doing. There is a decent amount of homework, but it will help you understand the material. Attendance is not mandatory, but don't be surprised that you fail the class when you don't go to get help.

Professor Allen is a great professor. I recommend asking a lot of questions and not procrastinating. Most of it is self-teaching. Test are accumulative, so be prepare to review past materials on exams. Homework problems are harder vs on the exam. He provides a reference sheet for the exam aka a cheat sheet. Practice makes permanent and improvement.

Allen was a good teacher! Going into this class you definitely need to know how to manage your time and make an effort to watch the videos and be ahead of the homework since in class time is mainly for asking questions and taking the weekly quizzes.

I was unlucky enough to forced into a hybrid version of Calculus which was the worse and most terrifying experience I've ever had in school. However due to the class being mostly online I was able to make it to most of his office hours which was a saving grace. He is singularly the best person in the math department and helped me pass calc online.

I tried taking his class back in Spring 2023 but I didn't take the first test seriously, got an F on it, and was basically impossible to get a passing grade on the class. But despite all that, I believe that Professor Allen is a good professor, you just NEED to be on top of it and you will be fine. The grading is harsh but I think worth it.

Professor Allen is intimidating at the beginning, but he is a strong family man who cares about helping his students, always available for extra help, and pushed me to be better. If you follow the lectures and do notebook examples and homework could be an easy class. tough grader so do examples and work clearly. test aren't hard just lots to remember so practice lots

Coach Allen is such an amazing professor! I had a bad time in 3A but he made trig so clear. I learned more about algebra in his trig class than I did in my actual algebra class. It isn't an easy subject, but if you put in the time to learn it, you will do well. He explains things in a way that make sense to someone who isn't great at math already.
