Prof. Baker is an AWESOME professor!!! I really enjoyed his class and I looked forward to seeing him everyday! I was saddened when he was ommited to the hospital for a reason that was unknown to us before the final exam...I still got an A though!!!

Other than Dr. Pal, this guy is the best math teacher I have had! He turns something that looks intimidating into something that's doable. He gives you a review sheet before tests telling you what problems to focus on. Just do homework and ask questions!

I took Mr. Baker because of what I read on this site. He wasn't very nice but I think he had a bad semester. I think he got divorced while the hurricanes were happening. I am bad in Math, but his tests were easy, homework wasn't required. He started going too fast in the end, but in all he was fun!

Professor Baker is an awesome teacher. He is nice and trys to make it as clear and easy to understand as possible. If you arent good at tests then dont take him bc its just tests and nothing else. I am okay at math and got a B , you just have to study the questions he gives you and its on the test

I took this class last semester with Lisa Armour and had to drop it because she made it impossible! I was happy with Prof. Baker because he takes his time, is very thorough and the tests are fair. No homework is turned in (but do it!), and he doesn't care about attendance either.

Mr Baker is awesome. He speaks better than 99% of the teachers at Valencia. My girlfriend took him and got a B and she is horrible at Math. His tests are EXTREMELY FAIR straight from the HW!! If you are lazy and dont do the HW you WILL fail and it's your own fault. I also know people that took him for every single math course he taught purposely.

In class he will go over concepts over and over and over until there are no questions AT all. He "reviews" concepts from lower math classes to help you understand, tells you one week prior when there will be a test, uses PLAIN english to explain and all the test problems are HW or examples from the board!!! HOW can you NOT pass????

Dr. Baker is an awesome instructer. He is very informative and helpful. His tests are straight forward. If you do the homework, there is no reason that you should not get an "A" out of his class. He also give wonderful reviews for the test. He does not have you studying tons of information that is not on the actual exam. Highly recommended!!!

This class is hard, if u havent had previous trig or geometry, He goes over all content repeatedly until he thinks you grasp it. His tests are challenging, but I guess if you do the h.w. it wouldnt be that hard. Overall I would recommend him, but he is also a bit fast paced in his teaching style (ask questions though)

Im currently in Bakers Calc I. I'll be honest, Calc is hard, but Baker will take the time to teach you the material. One great thing about him is that he never assumes anything. If you encounter an algebraicly hard problem he will show you how to solve it using Calc. GREAT Professor A+++++++++++++++ (post ponds test upon majority of class request.)

He was one of the best math teachers so far, he doesn't do every single thing in the chapter, he just highlights what needs to be done. He gives a review before his test and always answers any questions you have without hesitation, wants you to learn and pass. Practice in math makes perfect, do HW problems. I highly recommend him for Pre-calc.

Warning! Warning! If you don't do HW then this class is not for you. You can succeed in this class as long as you do the HW and study! Good teacher, but talks a little fast. Very nice to look at, but he is really unorganized; you don't know ahead of time when tests will be, he just decides as he goes along. He also spent the first month yapping about stuff we should already know, it's like okay, we know we're idiots, just teach us the stuff and move on!

This class was great, for College Algebra. I took Robaudo for my first try and ended up dropping it. I took it again with Nathan Baker, and it made a world of difference. He explains things much better, and the class just seems so much more bearable. Much recommended.

I took Baker for trig,precalc & calculus. He is an awesome professor. Do your homework, study regularly. Come to class with questions and Baker will answer them. He makes a test and even tells you the type of problems in the homework that will be on the TEST! He tells you when the test is atleast one week in advance.

But if you need anything, just come by his office, Baker will be there to help you (A+), that's why i like him. Hes a pretty good teacher, hard to follow sometimes, but doesn't mind helping at all, he will spend the whole class time going over homework questions if need be.I suck at match and wound up doing pretty good. The solutions manual helped a lot. Just show up for class and ask questions .Wont collect homework but if you wanna pass you should do it

Calculus 1 was great with Nathan Baker.He is very helpful,understandble,and always tries to help.Only 4 tests count for your final grade. Final exam score will replace to your lowest test score. Do your homework, and seek help when needed. Dont get shocked because he went too fast.That is how Calculus class should be!!!

He gives you study guides w/practice test and he doesn't confuse you when he teaches. He teaches you clear concise ways how to figure out each formula. If you show up for class & do the HW you could get an A or B. If you want to get a good grade in trig i would take this guy.

dont believe everything you read. hes an average math teacher. people think hes cool because hes young. he marks down big for small things like not reducing a radical or improper labeling. tests cover a lot in the given time. and half the class dropped already. bottom line: DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ!

Prof Baker was one of the easiest professors that I have had so far. That is a little bias coming from me because I am good at math. He does know his material and is good at explaining it. His tests are made to show that you know the material and not hard basic math. Homework is not graded but if you do it, you will not have to study for the test.

if you are not good in math i you should find another professor, he is a little bit harder than most professor, his motto is either you have it or you dont so I recommend patel, or kasha, he is not that bad as long as you do your home work and study every day.

U need to take him...he's very nice and good teacher...he explains clearly...u don't have to be in class,but he gives extra credit for it...u also get extra credit in ur test if u do the bonus points at the end of the test..if u study for the class u'll have an A..he's the best..Good luck

he is amazing......... super cool and he is very easy to follow but if you are not good at math the you might wanna go to the math lab even though he will help you if you go to his office he actually gives you like 10 points or so if you go to his office the first week with the syllabus and seriously go to class anyway cuz it will make it easier

Baker is very straightforward and honest. The grade you get in his class directly reflects your understanding of the subject. He goes very fast when he's explaining which is hard to follow if you get lost, but if you ask him for help later he will help you. I enjoyed his class

Prof. Baker is a realy good prof. In the beginning, he was not very good at explaining concepts like limits but as soon as we got to Chpt 3, he became clear as day. I think he did that to weed out the weaklings. All in all, I would take himm again. Btw, he's hot! Made coming to class worth it ;)

CRAZZZZY guy and very FUNNY, but is intimidating early in the course. He builds things up a lot and it forces you to study your butt off, then when you take the tests they're not too bad. I had him for a 5 week College Algebra class. Worked hard and EARNED a 93%. DEFINITELY not for everyone. If you can't stand math take a slower teacher. He's fast!

Professor Baker is a great teacher and entertaining too. He keeps you motivated and really is very intelligent. Lessons can be quite scattered and does not teach directly from the book. He admittedly didn't like the text that we had to use. Would love to take his class again. He's a really cool professor who loves his job.

Great teaching method for Precalc w/ clear, step by step instruction. Office hours for extra help. Polite but definitely expects you to put forth effort. Test are hard b/c there are so few questions, no room for error, but he does offer lots of extra credit opportunities (take them!) Do the practices & ask questions, you'll do great.

Professor Baker is a very fast paced professor who expects you to "get on the train, because the train is moving fast!" There are no secrets with this guy. If you're willing to work hard, you will achieve success. If you do what he says, such as do your homework (although not mandatory), you will have no surprises on the test. Thumbs up!

Best professor for calculus. Boring if you are good at algebra because he goes into many details. Spend plenty of time explaining problems. Exams problems from the book. Hard grading but he give what he called outstanding list problems which you turn in the day of the exam and add 5 point to the exam grade. Funny at times. Recommended

Trig is in itself, and there wasn't enough time to learn it all in class; he expects you to read your textbook (imagine that!). He is very adamant about Calc, so he wants all Trig students to know everything like second nature. Do the outstanding list, take great notes, HW is not mandatory but should be done. 3 small tests and final. Good luck!

Great professor. He lectures and teaches in a way that he believes helps students the most. This involves very little of the book, but you have the book already...you can read it. He provides additional information or ways to learn. He teaches you to be able to solve the hardest/complex problems...so you're able to solve the normal problems.

Very easy class, the test are ridiculously easy and gives you plenty of time to finish. He doesnt assign homework so you only have test grades,only like 5 or 6 for calc 1. Personality wise he is nice, sometimes weird and awkward but funny. You dont get any makeup test though you have to be there for the test.

Most clear math professor I've ever had. Crazy & will scare you, but teaches very well. Doesn't require/grade any homework, & I honestly did almost none and scored 100's on my test, & the bonus 5pt question at the end, & the optional Extra Credit problems from the book (2) that are simple problems. If you want to pass this class you're going to need to do the homework. Go to his office to ask questions and he will gladly give them to you. Don't wait until the last minute to start studying like I did :P A lot of extra credit. And final replaces lowest score.

Baker is the best math professor in the entire school. (including the rest of the campuses). GOOD notes and represents everything! He teaches you how to present your work not only spit out the answer! Prepare to show work on the exams. Do all the homework assigned and ask questions. 3 exams and a final. Do your outstanding lists to get 5 points.

One of the best math professors I have taken. Explains math out of his head and personal knowledge which is easier than learning from a math book (IMO). The book is important for practice, practice, and more practice. He prepares you for higher level math. NOT AN EASY CLASS but you will learn trig.

He is literally gandalf the brown. He will make you think about thinking about math about thinking. His class was so good that when I went to sleep some nights I would dream about the unit circle. The radians and degrees illuminating to form the shape of his perfectly fuzzy beard. His class is bake, comma just take it.

I'd get him to teach me, but I'd avoid his tests. In order to pass his tests you have to do loads of homework, but I couldn't do bc it was summer semester and I was also working, while taking trig and bio. Is he a good teacher? Yes. Did I have the time to devote hours in the class? No. Currently contemplating withdrawing.

Professor Baker's class is not a cakewalk, but you will know your stuff when you are done. Only grades are your tests and a couple of extra credit problems. You need self discipline in doing your homework as you will not pass unless you try. Good professor, I recommend if you have a major that requires heavy math.

He is a Great Professor and very passionate but he is highly unorganized when teaching and will teach you how to do the exercises in a "rational" way as he call it, but not the way the book shows you. The test is a paper with 10 questions or so all in words, then you write down the exercise and solve it. VERY confusing and hard. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Nathan Baker is a very passionate math teacher, albeit a little to hard core for 99% of the students that come through his class. I am an Engineering student and can somewhat respect his teaching style. The structure of his class however needs some work, and tests are harder than they need to be, as you can never tell what is going to be on them.

Professor Baker is the most intelligent human being I have ever met when it comes to math. If you ask him any question about math, he will know the answer and take time to explain it to you in a way that makes sense. Here is where people don't like him: he expects a lot from you. He is by no means an easy teacher, but he is a great teacher.

proffessor baker is a math wizard. He is super passionate about teaching and you will feel the impact. You will feel a lot of pressure and a lot of expectations but once you do all the homework accordingly and master every question he gives you in the book you will be fine. It's hard not to fall in love with his charisma and energy.

This professors class is an example of: If you study hard, the class is easy. In his Trig class, attendance was not counted, home works were not included, and pop quizzes don't exist. Tough, but fair. Professor Baker is extraordinarily enthusiastic about math. Bring any question to him, and he'll fully explain how to work it out. That said, the onus is on you to do the work and pass. If you don't do the homework, you won't pass, because you're not going to have the tools. That's the mistake I made.

His classes are not a piece of cake. If you are not a math person then i wouldnt recommend him. He knows his stuffs really well, i have no doubt with that. But transferring the knowledge to students is his problem.

I really liked taking calc 2 with him because he goes over a lot of the basic stuff you may have forgotten from previous courses, whereas other proffesors dont. I find him to be very practical, homework is not turned in, all the problems from the test come from the book. gives extra credit, if you practice youll do great, i found this course easy

Okay so Trig is obviously not the easiest class but if you actually want to learn the material because you need it later on in calc 1 and 2 then take Baker. He has helped relive some stress by knowing most of the trig functions and their derivatives by heart . Awesome guy and great teacher. Lots of passion. You can't bs your way through math class.

the absolute best way to take his class is to do the homework on your own and ask questions in class on the homework. He gives lectures on the chapters themselves but you need to do your own study to pass the class, the thing is that while he may not walk you through the chapters he gives ample time and opportunity to ask him questions.

Prof. Baker is a hilarious professor. He really tells you exactly what you need to do to pass, and he tells you exactly what will happen if you don't do what you need to do. He explains everything well in class and will take questions outside of class if necessary. Overall, a quality instructor with a great personality.

Look, you get a lot of people who complain about Baker. He's very eccentric, but the guy knows his math. Pay attention in lecture, speak up if you need clarification, and stay on top of your homework - you'll be fine. Don't sleep on the homework though - it's not graded, but if you're willing to pump out 100 problems before each test - you'll pass.

I'm a absolute no-no to math and professor Baker REALLY taught me trig. Yes, I had to study a lot (almost doing 100 math questions a week) but it was worth it. Grading system: 4 tests and he drops the lowest grade with whatever you got on your final. Took him in the covid transition and it was pretty chill. I'd definitely take him for calculus.

This class was honestly not hard at all. As long as you do all of the work you should pass with a good grade. He's also good with communication. If you couldn't take a test at the time he assigned, he will work with you as long as you communicate with him.

He is a great professor to me anyways. He does lectures every class day and there is a test about every 2-3 weeks. He doesn't give homework, he only does 4 tests throughout the school year which I think is better for me so I don't have to do homework and tests I just have to study for the tests and I'll be alright. He is a character too.

Honestly super nice, he grades on understanding not correctness. Meaning, even if u dont get the right answer, as long as you show ur process of getting the answer and it demonstrates effort, he will grade it high. Only exception was the final. No Homework! This worked great for me since I could learn everything at my own pace, not for everyone.

Most people will rate him bad because he only grades on tests, which there is 4. If you attend lecture and pay attention the class is easy. No homework and All exam questions are exactly from textbook which makes studying even more beneficial. I got a perfect 105 on all tests (there's 1 bonus question) as he grades on understanding not correction
