i haven't taken him but he is a great guy. i worked with him during the summer and would have to recommend him to anyone. extremely nice and would be very helpful.
His office smells of mildew, he always wears bright shirts (and appears over-caffeinated), and he never stops mentioning The Daily Show. If you can handle that, then maybe Mr. Holic is your kind of teacher.
Very easy, never any work only the Core essays which are easy. He's always there to help whenever you are unsure of something. He dresses nicely too. I would stick with him if you have him
Professor Holic is very helpful, and is one hell of a writer. You can definitly learn a lot from him. He's good at teaching in a way that relates to our generation since he is young. And ladies-- he's very eye-pleasing, so you'll never want to miss any class time.
By far the best class I have ever taken at UCF!!! I have gained so much from his class. I am now an English major just because of him. Professor Holic is very down to earth and has a way of making class enjoyable. I didn't miss a single session all semester. Never a dull moment. I could watch him speak all year long ;)
Professor Holic changed my life!!! His unfathomably good lectures, on things I can’t remember, will forever haunt my soul
Mr.Holic is the best! I seriously come to class ever day to stare at his sweet behind. His papers are very clear and if you ever need help, he is always there for you.

Mr. Holic is the SH#T! He incorporates pop culture into writing assignments that allow you to be creative and actually care about writing the paper. And whenever you need help or suggestions able how to go about your paper, he is always there. I recommend Prof. Holic to any incoming freshmen, get him while his classes are still open!
Nate Holic, He is a very important asset to freshman and beginning writers. With his help you can become a master of the pen. If you can look past his white linen leisure suits, then you can appreciate him for the diet coke lover writer that he is. Seriously, he is very helpful even after you aren’t in his class.
At first, I had the impression that he was an amateur because he was so young and egocentric...but now I have some measure of respect for him since his critiques are fairly truthful. Not hard to get an A in his class, just don't write "pulp fiction."
Nathan Holic’s creative writing class was some of the best hours of my life. I woke up at the crack of dawn just to be apart of that beautiful thing Mr. Holic so affectionately refers to as the love making of language. I almost intentionally failed his class just to retake the experience but an “A” was inevitable. It must be stated that Holic’s cho
Holics choice in music, friends, and soda are somewhat questionable but as a professor... definately makes the mark!
He's young but he knows his stuff when it comes to editing papers. He has an awesome arsenal of selected works to read and study for class discussions - pieces that really allow you to critically think. And the man is a walking work of art. I'm not exaggerating when I say this man is stunning. He makes going to class worth it.

Professor Holic is one of the best English teachers I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! He is able to articulate to his students how to better a paper, which isn't easy. He's really helpful outside of class and genuinely wants his students to succeed. Being only a Master's student, he remembers what it's like to be in college, and is flexible.
Good Professor. Helpful, cool and all that. One thing that maybe bad about him is that he gets harsh in grading sometimes. Overall, an ok professor, I would recomend him.
Great teacher. Picky on details in writings, but it's college and you shouldn't be making those mistakes anyways. Very helpful. I loved this class and even tho on fridays it was my only class, i never minded going. He's funny, hot, and pretty easy... what else could you ask for?? Not the easiest A, but still and A if you try.
He is a down to earth teacher. He knows what he is talking about and is very helpful. His class is entertaining. I look forward to going to this class out of the other three classes of my week. He understands our generation and therefore can relate to us students on a level that is not even close to monotone.

He's probably really bummed he's not on the ratemyprofessor top fifty hottest.
he's not young he's actually in his mid 40's
Professor Holic is a great teacher, he listens and is very help. He's young too so it's alot easier to relate. There are 4 main papers, a couple quizzes here and there and some "discovery assignments" that prepare you for the next paper. Topics are interesting, and you have a bit of choice. Picky on grammar but not too bad. TAKE HIM HE'S GREAT
Prof. Holic is an amazing teacher. As long as you know how to write a decent essay, you're fine. If there is need for improvement in your essays, he'll let you know. He's down to earth and really funny. He's younger than a lot of other professors and therefore connects better with the students. He's in love with himself. Really. He loves diet coke.
He is the most amazing professor ev-er!
Mr. is an amazing writer, a young and energetic professor with a love for teacher. He's very down to earth and easy to relate to. Not to mention, he's pretty easy on the eyes ;). Definitely a class to look forward to!
Mr. Holic is an awesome teacher who relates to his students well and keeps the class interesting using lots of humor. He is a funny guy who basically had me laughing and smiling the whole semester. He may have been a little picky on grading, but it was ONLY because he repeated OVER n OVER what he wanted on our papers. Other than that, BEST TEACH!!!
The class was really easy, just proof read your papers and you will do well.
Great Teacher! Relates well with his students and is very understanding. Everyone who takes his class should end up with atleast a B+/A-
By far the best class I have taken so far. You are going to want to go to this class. You watch the Colbert Report and youtube videos in class. He is very helpful with any questions you may have and very hands on. Extra credit may be given for diet coke or a red apple! Take him, do good on your papers and I promise a good grade!
Definitely the best ENC class to take. You will WANT to come to class...it was a blast. He helps you tremendously on papers and is always available for a meeting. Mr. Holic is hilarious, attractive, and intelligent...TAKE THIS CLASS!!
decent prof, but a little too easy. would not say hot, but is nice it seems.
I'd taken Holic before and I gave him a rave review but this time his charm was lost on me. This course was interesting but not as professional as I was expecting. He lets people talk during lectures, come and go as they please, and make rude comments, and he never does anything about it but give them dirty looks and walk out of class in a huff.
Holic is a great teacher. He's very helpful and knows what he's talking about. His assignments are pretty easy, and he seems to be a fair grader. You should take this class.
(online) One word - DON'T! You don't get grades, you seldom get feedback and you spend most of your time critiquing everyone else's writing, rather than practicing your own. The instructions for the twice weekly postings are even confusing. Stay away from this class online.
not a bad prof but a bit inexperienced.....with time this may improve. my problem with this guy was his hesitance to share industry info w/us.
Great professor! Recommend 100%. Take him and you will not be disappointed. Always willing to help you out of class. Class is never boring and you will want to go back the next day!
He's a good teacher and is very helpful if you go to his office hours. He makes it very clear what he wants out of core papers, but takes off a lot of points for comma errors and stuff like that. He does make class pretty interesting, but he has these transparancy "workshops" where the class picks apart the first page of your papers on the overhead
The class was long and boring. He would go off on random tangents and seemed really into himself. Sometimes a hard grader. Don't expect feedback or why you get a certain grade in the class. I would not take it if you can. I am sure their are easier and more fun teachers to take.
Holic was a great teacher. He is very clear about the Core papers. Some busy work about commas and such but overall a good class. He grades pretty easy too!
Frustrating class. He talks to much about unimportant things and although my papers were better than others in the class my grades did not reflect it. I had an A average on my Core papers, but not in the class -so even though I was exempt from the Exam I had to take it anyway. I ended up with an A- in the class when I should have had an A+
Prof Holic is a funny guy! Makes english fun!He really does want to help you out. He is a very picky grader, takes off points for wrong comma usage, etc. You have to work very hard for an A. I ended up with an A- but because I tried super hard.
I would not reccomend this class, received very little explanation on why I was given grades on my core essays, was not very helpful, the class was three days a week, most of classes were useless, he talked about himself most of the time. I got an N/C in the class, I got a A in comp 1 and then when i took comp2 again with someone else I got an A.
It's always a wonderful thing when you get a professor who is actually excited about what they're teaching, and Professor Holic totally is. He's a stickler for punctuality, but I totally respect that and he has the right to be. It's a great class on its own if you love creative writing, and he makes it even better.
It's a workshop class, so a good chunk of the time is devoted to reading and revising. He runs the workshops well, though. Holic's a nice guy who offers helpful critiques on your papers and genuinely cares about his students. Unfortunately, your experience in the class and be kind of a crapshoot depending on your classmates' critical abilities.
Don't listen to anyone who didn't like him. He's the best professor I've had at UCF- extremely helpful, very nice, hilarious... you will have so much fun in this class. If you can't write or suck at commas, that's your fault, not his. You should've learned that in HS. But if you need help he IS there.
Holic's an enigma. Nice guy, enthusiastic, seemingly clear on what he wants. Grades pretty leniently, that is, until your draft for the class where the whole "subjectivity" issue of CW classes comes into play. Also, a lot of what you learn is identical to Intro to CW, but that's to be expected. Not a bad guy, just young with room to improve.
I took AP English both my senior year and junior year in high school. This class is exactly that, but easier. Just 4 papers, all easy. Just do the work and it's all smooth sailing from there. Doesn't really teach you how to write, just teaches what to write. Great personality, character, and a great professor. He wants you to succeed!
Really good instructor for intro to creative writing. Even if you don't consider yourself "creative" his writing exercises help ease you into it.
He is a great teacher to take for intro into creative writing. He claims his grading is hard but it really isn't. He cares about his students, and one can truly tell he loves teaching. He likes to talk about himself though...a lot.
I stood up for Holic after class, to students who ****ed about their grades. "It's about earning the grade, not getting the grade." Nobody was into working for what they wanted... Holic is pompous and green. Panders to the clueless. Wastes class time with unhelpful workshops. Mandatory attendance + Socratic Method overload = limitless boredom.
Not enough characters to describe: He's an alright guy, but relies on the students too much. When the vapid outnumber those who want to learn, classes like this one fail. Attending was a chore. If there had been less workshops/discussions and more assigned readings/writings, students could have grasped Holic's intended take-away value/ information.
One last thing about Holic: I was unimpressed because the man knows his s hit, but doesn't begin to touch upon what he could relate to students because, well, I don't know. Very well spoken during office hours and after class. It's unfortunate that he is not the same, knowledge-spilling guy during class time. He's 2 accepting of lame interjections.
P.S. If you do decide to take Holic's course, SEE HIM DURING OFFICE HOURS. Face-to-face, he can be so much more helpful. He crams so much information into just an hour that your head will be swimming with new ideas, and by the time you leave you'll feel like a better writer or at least a more knowing one. Office hrs R what made the course worth it

i agree with the long comments before mine, but i liked workshops. we had alot, but they helped me. he's cute too! class was easy and fun.
Had Holic for a Fiction Writing Workshop and thought he was pretty good. He's an equal-opportunity critic of everyone's writing, but he's very constructive and will help you very much in the long run. Funny dude and you'll never feel burdened attending his class.
Very good profesor. I entered this class hating writing; i still hate it, but he most definatly made it more enjoyable. i was a horribleeeeeeeeeeee writer, but he is SUPER helpful and you learn SOOOO much! only grades basically on the 4 core essays. there are some reading assignments, but they're about current events that are interesting.
Took comp 1 with professor Holic thinking it would be a piece of cake. But with all the homework assignments, group project, plus the core papers, you really get tired and annoyed of the class after a few weeks. Liked him at first, but as time went on, not so much. Out of 50 students, 4 were getting As on the core paper.
He's a great teacher. I was nervous going with someone so young but he is an extremely effective and hardworking professor. He'll spend extra time out of class to make sure you understand assignments and is truly committed to making you a better writer. Work load is average, but not excessive.
Professor Holic is a great professor to take for english. He is very clear on what he expects to be done and he is always available to help. Personally, I don't really enjoy writing but he made this class enjoyable for me.
Prof. Holic is great! He makes writing interesting. Make sure you keep up with the assignments. He really cares about you and your grades. He is open to talk to you about any questions you may have. He is one of the best professors! Take his class!
One of the worst professors at UCF. Before entering class i loved writing. I now hate it thanks to this man. He is one of the most pompous people i have ever met,he worships the ground he walks on. would not recommend him for any class
Holic is definitely a great teacher. He is always willing to help out with any problems you may have. He actually cares about what you write and wants you to succeed. You can go to any of his office hours and will take the time to read your essay and give suggestions to make it better. Take him any chance you can.
This guy is useless. Dont take him for a 3120. This class is identical to a middle-school version of creative writing. He just repeats 3013 and 3053. If you want to learn anything new dont take him. His feedback isn't helpful, and his jokes are incredibly lame. His grandiose arrogance is very off-putting. All very formulaic. CRW for dummies.
I took his magazine writing class. It was fun, but a LOT of work. He's humorous and his lectures can be pretty fun. I like the assignments but they are by no means easy. He's a fair grader and I enjoyed the class. Just be prepared to work and stay on top of the assignments. Don't let a journal slip past, it could hurt your grade.
Professor Holic is a great teacher, and I'm so shocked to see such contrasting comments on here. My experience in his class was great, definitely a lot of writing and a lot of work, but if you love to write, you'll enjoy yourself in his class. He's an entertaining teacher and cares about his students. Would recommend him to anyone.
Professor Holic was great. I had him for CRW3013 and CRW 3120. He is very constructive in his criticism and knowledgeable of the craft. I felt confident in my writing before this class and even more so now, thanks to him.
I didn't learn my lesson the first time and took a total of two of this guys classes. He really is useless. His expectations and schedule aren't clear enough, and he doesn't grade quickly enough, so by the time you realize you've been doing an assignment below par it's too late because half the semester is gone. Avoid this professor at all costs!!!
I actually didn't mind him, I thought he was interesting and really cares to make you a better writer. He grades fairly. Everyone complained about him because he never gave above an 85 on a paper unless it's awesome! But then let's you rewrite, I ended up with an A but I worked for it!
Definitely not an easy class. But I learned more in this class than any other class I've taken at UCF. Holic is AWESOME! He is the first professor I've had that actually provides real, useful feedback on assignments turned in.
SO MUCH WORK. His expectations are so high and he doesn't realize that you have several other classes that you're taking. He also writes a novel every week for you to read before event starting a module and doesn't understand "brevity". Literally, the most ridiculous class to keep up with. I ended up with an A after slaving away all semester.
He gives a lot of work that always isn't necessary. You do learn but it isn't an easy pass. He tries to help you understand the topic by relating it to student but sometimes english is boring. His lectures sometime get lengthy and aren't always helpful. Its possible to pass for sure, Just takes some work.
I loved this class. I love Writing. Professor Holic is very demanding but his lectures are helpful. There is a lot of online work to do and it's easier if you pick one topic to work on throughout the whole semester. Don't miss class. Revise your essay for your final portfolio. I had a B and I revised my portfolio and got an A. Recommended!
Professor Holic is by far the best writing professor I've ever had but he is also one of the best professors in general that I've ever had. I would absolutely recommend him for any class. His Writing for Publication course was so much fun and I learned a lot. if you have the chance to take him, DO IT!
DO NOT TAKE HIM ONLINE, he even admits hes harder online. DO NOT TAKE HIM ONLINE!!
Professor Holic has high expectations and this class requires a lot of effort, but it is by far the best class I've taken at UCF. Holic is extremely helpful with his feedback and really wants his students to succeed. I learned so much. Definitely take it if you have the chance.
He is a wonderful teacher, if you are an English major... take him. He teaches you a lot about writing technique and how to make a piece worth publishing. You get to write on your time and about what interests you. Well worth your time!
Holic is a nice man and it's clear he is passionate about his class and trying to improve your writing. However, I did feel like he was unclear about his papers as the semester went on. I went to speak with him one day about a paper I wrote and I couldn't quite tell how to do better next time. Be prepared to work a lot if you take this class.
He has found a format for his classes that really works for his style. He's also very personable and interesting. You obviously have to do the work to get the grade, but I would take any of his classes. Very few professors continuously strive to make their classes interesting for their students and his effort alone is appreciated. Great guy.
I took mixed mode comp 1 with Holic, half the class was online and half in person. It was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. Throughout the semester you have 3 core essays. On these essays I got a B, B and C. However, you have a chance to revise your essays for your final portfolio. REVISE ALL OF YOUR ESSAY (unless you got an A)
This is not an easy A class, but if you put in the effort you can definitely get a good grade. There were several books required (not expensive) and you will read many essays. I took the class in Summer, and my grade was based on several discussions (mini-essays), responses, and three essays.
I came into this class expecting to hate it. It's ended up being one of my favorite classes. There are 3 core essays with a broad topic. It allows you to get very specific and choose what you want to write about. The discussions are always interesting and he is very good at clarifying any information. He genuinely wants to improve your writing
He has clear grading criteria and is always there for you if you need help understanding the work as long as you put the effort into it. He doesn't just hand out good grades. No tests and maybe like 1 quiz to make sure we read something. Most grades are online discussions and 3 major essays. He makes you work for an A, but nothing you can't handle
I never have any clue about what the hell he wants us to actually do. I have written 5 other papers this semester in different classes that have all gotten an A. I am struggling to get past a 75 on his papers. He doesn't really tell you what he kinda wants until the week before. He is also only kinda attractive.
I felt like no matter what I had written he had something negative to say about it. His directions are not clear and don't make sense. I have attempted to follow his instructions but it seems no matter what I do it is not good enough, which is frustrating.
Holic is the best professor at UCF, no joke.
This guy is definitely the toughest grader i met. If your paper is not publishable worthy, then you will get no higher than a B in the class. He assigns a lot of homework that just seems like busy work, but you have to do it and he even grades hard on that. I would highly recommended picking a different teacher.
Prof. Holic is a genuinely nice guy. Expect to make a C-B due to his harsh grading.
Professor Holic's lectures were funny but his assignment guidelines were always vague and confusing. Majority of the class grade comes from writer's journal entries and papers however if you don't show up to class it will influence his grading. He is not accessible outside of class. I would never take a class with him again
Holic is probably my favorite professor at UCF. I learned a ton about making writing your career from him. If you're an English major or a Writing and Rhetoric Major, you can't go wrong taking his classes. The assignments are long, but they really are geared towards helping you in the real world. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it.
Professor Holic is awesome! Very clear about what he expects and genuinely cares for and tries to help his students. alot of assignments throughout the semester, but only to our benefit. Three major essays assigned and a chance to revise each at the end of the semester for a better grade. go into this class open minded, you wont regret it ! JD
Holic is disgustingly tough as a grader, the toughest I've had in my four years at UCF. For example, I had an assignment that required me to format an article after a specific publication's style. I had that style in the title and formatted it correctly, but he took points off in multiple rubric sections saying I hadn't done any of this. Too unfair
This is the only professor I regret taking at UCF. His class is extremely complex & boring & he likes to blab about his personal life. I don't recommend him or this class to anyone. If you think you can write good papers, think again because this man will find something wrong. Save your time & money & don't take him.
I have taken two classes with Prof Holic and I can honestly say that he is one of the best prof. at UCF. With COM 2 you will need to complete a major research project no matter who your prof is, and he lets you re-write projects. His lectures run on student participation to guide the conversation so you will need to read all the assigned material.
Professor Holic is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took this course in the honors section and it was honestly the coolest class I've taken at UCF. If you're passionate about writing, take this class. If you want to learn how to write, take this class. If you want to get an easy A? Not for you. It's a LOT of work but super fulfilling.
By far the best professor I've ever had. Great discussions, interesting assigned readings, and relevant assignments that I truly enjoyed completing. Couldn't recommend higher!
I loved taking this class. Really easy, with clear criteria on each project. He's somewhat of a tough grader, but if you read carefully on what he expects, it's easy to get a good grade. Not a lot of reading, mostly short articles and lots of discussion posts. I would love to take another one of his classes.
Holic's course can be very tough if you don't set time for it. Be prepared to draw comics (literally you'll have to do it the whole year). If you're super in to drawing and writing and are willing to WORK for your grade then this is the course for you. If not then thank u, next.
Great professor, gives clear grading criteria and expectations. He makes you work for an A, but as long as you do your assignments in a timely manner and do the discussion posts, you'll be fine. Holic gives the grade you deserve for the work put in. Complete revision is allowed if a significant number of classes weren't missed
He's not a bad prof but his class basically turned into an art class. Homework every week, some easy most annoying. Made us buy 5+ comic books that were opened for one class each. Grading was questionable (would never give an A). Participation and attendance is looked at, beware. If you like drawing and doing pointless work, take the class...
this class turns into an art class, and with all 3 of your papers you are forced to include some form of art in your essay. all of the projects connect so if you flop on one paper then the its gonna hurt you in the end. grading scale only goes 65, 75, 85, 95, etc. final was a nightmare, 10 page essay plus the other two. woulda dropped had I known.
Too many useless assignments. I had better things to do with my time. He seems to have ego issues as well.
honestly one of the worst and least understanding professors i have ever taken in my life, not only was he rude, unfunny and incredibly confusing but he has a basically lack of understanding that anyone has a life outside of this class.
Do NOT take his class. He failed me on 2 assignments 2 weeks before the end of the semester. If you disagree with his beliefs politically/socially you will fail his class. He stated that my project was "not a real issue" and backed this up with an article from Rolling Stone (not a credible source). I left his office hours sobbing multiple times.
Honestly, Professor Holic is a great professor and I really enjoyed his lectures. BUT he assigns lots of unnecessary assignments and papers. Be prepared to do LOTS of reading. This class has drained so much energy out of me every single week of the semester. I do not recommend taking this class.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. Terrible professor and does not care about his studnets. He will make you feel unwelcome and I walk out of his class and office hours feeling stupid for making any mistakes . If you don't like studnets don't go into teaching. Complete lack of empathy, teachers are supposed to educate not put down studnets
Confusing and way too much unhelpful work. His projects are so hard and none of the assignments have any purpose . Always wasting time in this class , save your self they money, I should have been paid to take this class not the other way around.
in his syllabus he show you some bad reviews he has gotten, they are 100% true. He will tell you his expectations, they are so high and unfair. don't take this class if you want to pass, find a better teacher This is the only english class I have ever taken that I don't like, he has ruined my love of writing. my biggest regret is taking this class
major ego issues, rude and thinks he is better then everyone. cant stress enough how rude he is
all he does is tell his studnets to withdraw any time they ask for help
can't grade, cant teach, confusing and rude. don't take this class
Professor Holic is in no way an easy professor, but it is a very doable class! A lot of assignments involve drawing, something that most students hate, but it isn't that bad. And for the research project, just choose something you are genuinely interested in and you'll be fine! He also lets you revise your projects at the end for a better grade
Professor Holic is a great guy and will try to help you do well but be ready to DRAW. There is a lot of drawing assignment for an english class. He is a tough grader and its really really hard to get an A in the class. I took the honors version of this course so this was even harder. He is a great person but his class is really difficult.
I would give a zero if I could he is terrible at explaining work
its the bad grades with out explaining what he wants for me
its the telling students to withdraw instead of teaching for me
Before taking this class the reviews frightened me but honestly he is a fun English professor. He gives a lot of creative freedom and wants us to actually be interested in our writing. I found his grading methods fair. He explains what needs work and explains the assignments thoroughly. As long as you do the reading and tasks you should be great.
I cant stress enough not to take him for english, worst teacher ive had at ucf. He will not give helpful feedback
Extremely rude and consecending Professor, and I dont care if he uses this in his next syllabus. if you miss one paper you fail, no exception. Extremely tough grader, got 75 on first paper, wrote 8 pages for with all required elements. All you get is straight attitude in syllabus. Zero personality online, calls 2 paragraph lectures his teaching.
Never met a so called Professor with such a low level of professionalism and high level of selfishness. He incorporates his love of comics into every assignment, this is just ridiculous no college level student wants to be writing essays on top of drawing comics in a college level course. His comics take away from the entire course, UNBAREABLE!
Professor Holic changed my life and the outcome of my career at UCF. He was my first teacher back to school after I medically withdrew and he re-ignited my passion for writing and research. If you don't like getting creative and writing about things that are passionate to you, this class is not for you. For me, this course was eye-opening. 10/10.
Good guy. Smart. Expect to work for your final grade. He is challenging, but it is college and I expect to be challenged academically in college. I appreciated his feedback and his approach to teaching. I definitely would take him again!
Professor Holic was the best English teacher I've ever had. He's incredibly helpful and caring towards his students. He will spend one on one with you time to make sure you understand the assignment and help direct you in the right path. I highly recommend him if you want to have a great ENC experience.
Such a cool professor, but still demands your best effort. You will get an A if you give it your all, otherwise, don't take this course. If you're willing to learn, this is the place for you. Loves to make the course relevant and I really enjoyed coming to class.
This Professor is actually great. I took the online class while working full time. I have four kids. He was graceful for late work, and kept up contact with me when I had questions. Just write and be curious. But, it is a TON of homework. The most homework out of my four classes and the other three are upper level literature courses.
Took him for Rhetoric of Comics and it was the best course I've taken at UCF. Holic always showed how much he cared about both the class and students through his passion for the subject and for teaching. He took the time to create his own comics for assignments and examples, which was really engaging. I learned a lot and had fun too.
Easy class if you put in effort and doesn't take much to pass. It is more of an art class than an English class but he doesn't grade on the quality of the art, more so on participation. Assignments were easy and minimal, all of the readings were interesting, and there was only one group project. There are to big comics but he gives plenty of time
Professor Holic pushed me to be a better writer. He gave great feedback and genuinely cared. He put a lot of effort into his online course with the written lectures and drawn illustrations. Rare professor. I recommend and keep in mind I am picky.
I feel like his grading was really strict for a gep class, I don't recommend unless you are a really good writer
I enjoyed Professor Holic's course. He made writing enjoyable and not tedious.
Really harsh grader unless you somehow are coming out of high school as already a really great writer I wouldn't get him as your professor. I was really excited for his class in the beginning but the assignments have alot of heavy reading that are pretty advanced and hard to read. He expects perfection to at least get a B.
made this class enjoyable and funny
Holic pushes you to improve your writing, but the workload can be intense. Leverage resources like unstuck study alongside the textbook for efficient study prep. Overall, a rewarding class for those willing to put in the effort.
Quite a bit of writing but it's worth it! Got a lot of great feedback from him! I definitely became a better writer because of this class.
His syllabus and week one materials are really intense looking, but the assignments themselves are very doable, and he is not a harsh grader. Very nice professor to work with.
Holic cares for his students & is excited about the subject. He leaves detailed feedback on major assignments & engages with students in the discussion boards. There are 2 detailed discussion postings per week which involve reading & research, aside from 4 major assignments. This course taught me so much about writing for publication. Recommend!
Do your work on time and complete it to the criteria, and you won't fail. This professor will allow you to write about what you're interested in, even things that you might not believe would be treated seriously, so long as you yourself treat it with respect.
