this guy is great, he is young and he loves interacting with his students. also, he isn't all wrapped up in the right way to write papers like MLA format and stuff like that, he would rather you just share your ideas. he a great teacher, very understanding

Wow. Very interesting character. Felt like I was in a philosophy class. Very intrusive into your thoughts, beliefs, etc. If you don't like for someone to be all in your business, this is NOT the class for you. Random pop quizzes once a week, kinda easy but really wierd. Whole class is wierd. Hated it. Will never take anything from him again.

AMAZING teacher! Friday Columns are a lot of fun and you get to know each of your classmates a not so boring way. Quizzes are simple is you do the reading, which is usually like max 3 - 10 pages. EASY!! He thinks out of the box and explains things in GREAT detail! TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Nate is not really an English teacher as much as he is a teacher of life. During a summer term for CW, instead of writing we could bring an item "show and tell" but had to thoughtful and thourough in the explanation. The books he selected were classics, and he is extremely faith driven, but not at all in a weird or pushy way(and im a nonbeliever)A+

I'm taking his summer session right now and he has made it very enjoyable, even for a summer class. Everything we read he relates to life on a larger scale. He is very animated, happy, and never shy about sharing his intimate life details. I wish I had known to take him during the fall or spring. A+++!!

i ended up with an A in his class pretty easily but i never really understood how he graded the papers my first paper i got counted off ten points for having an intro so in the second paper i put no intro and got 20 points taken off but other than that i really enjoyed his class

Parker is a really great teacher, he truly does care about the students and offers help in any way possible, like meeting at the ferg for coffee or some such. he remembers your name and is always kind. he likes to share his world views rather than just teach English, i felt like i got so much out of his class.

Very easy EN 102 class. The class met on Tues. and Thurs. We had a 1/2 page written journal entry due on Tues. and a one page double spaced typed due on Thurs. over the material covered on Tues. No long research papers!!!! Easy A!!

Reading quizzes were tough, but if you read you should be fine. Thursdays are column days, and everyone writes one double spaced page and reads it aloud to the class and full credit is automatically given. Three Essays all semester, first grade was a C+, but the last two were As. Overall interesting, engaging, and has a passion for english.

Best professor at UA and very easy! I wouldn't take him if you are an English major though but if you are like me and hate English then take him.

Very interesting teacher. He's a really cool guy who loves his jobs. Its not a harder grader either but he does want you to try. But I would definitely recommend for English 102!

Mr. Parker is a great teacher. He was very enthusiastic about class and our lives. We only wrote two essays but there was a reading assignment for every other class day. Those days would usually have a quiz to follow up the reading. The other days we would write a one page journal about whatever we wanted. Overall fantastic.

Very easy class; it's not surprising that everyone loves him. No paper, just quizzes over the reading--so if you take him, read. Not hard at all. If you want to feel challenged don't take this class, if you want it easy, take him. It's all about how you relate to the works. Nice dude.

By far the best lit professor to take. He has reading quizzes every week, but they're very easy if you've read. He has one dropped quiz. Quizzes make up half of the grade in the class. There's a "mid-term" paper that is a gimme A+. The final exam is in class and is very simple if you've payed attention in class. I ended up getting an A in the class

Tues: Weekly reading check quizzes (simple) that most people just use Sparknotes to ace, and then he lectures for a little while. Thurs: columns due (a short story about anything in your life!) Hands down the most genuinely nice professor ever! He wants to get to know his students personally on top of being passionate about english. Random reading quizzes are very easy, and other assignments not very time consuming at all! Often you will get full credit for doing them. Attendance is worth points too so it's worth going.

He's the man. It's easy to pass his class basically show up. But I will say he grades essays extremely hard. I met with him over my essay and had what he called a top 5 essay and grade among the 200+ students he was teaching that semester and I got an 86 on that essay. But he's awesome definitely a must take, super helpful.

took my first 408 with him and it was great. very laidback atmosphere, got great feedback on my work. the reading was cool (hemingway, tolkien, and ashbery). also watched a couple films. class was tons of fun and he's genuinely awesome.

Hands down my favorite professor I have ever had here at UA. He only had 3 main essays and a journal/discussion every week that were easy 100's. His lectures are very entertaining and never boring. One of the best teachers I have ever taken all you have to do is read the reading assignments and go to class. He gives quizzes randomly but they are super easy if you have read. No papers other than the final and he gives you lots of help on that. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Parker's class is an easy A. It wasn't my favorite because it was a lecture-heavy literature course. We didn't discuss a whole lot, which is what I'm used to with lit classes. I had Mr. Parker EN102 as well as EN303. He is caring, nice, and so passionate about his teaching. We would discuss a reading one day and then the next day workshop classmates' poems. Fairly easy and a fun class to attend. Participation/attendance was not mandatory for my class, but I honestly loved going. If you don't take him, you're missing out.

Nathan is so nice and understanding. You have two grades each week a reading quiz that you have to show up for and a weekly "column" (a one-page paper that is about whatever you want) that you present each week. He is super cool.

Parker is a great teacher. He's kind of quirky (think Robin William's character in Dead Poet's Society) but he's overall a good teacher. Participation every class is required, though he usually asks a question he wants everyone to answer so getting your participation is pretty easy.

I had him also in my EN 101 but both classes are very similar. As for Dr. Parker he's a great teacher. Easy class and you learn a lot. I never truly liked English but his class made it very interesting and fun. Just know every thursday you get to talk about your life through Journals and there are easy pop quizzes from the book or movie

Mr. Parker truly loves what he does and that reflects immensely in the way he runs class and treats students. I never thought I would enjoy an English class as much as I did with him. In my opinion, he's definitely one of the best professors at the university.

I took Mr. Parker's Adventure Lit class & it was very fun & enjoyable. He's a great guy; really laid-back & philosophical & inspirational with his lectures. He opens the minds of his students in a fun, engaging way. The graded works are quite fun & not hard at all. And as long as you read (the books are great), the quizzes are easy. Def recommended

At first I almost dropped because of it but you get use to it and its not bad once you hear funny stories from other people. HES THE GOAT

Parker, with his with his straw hat and suspenders, is the most chill, kind prof you will find. He understands what its like to be a student and its worth waking up at 8 am to take him. A few reading quizzes and essays as expected so just do the reading since its an English course. Tons of students take more than once. He always has a smile.

If you enjoy F. Scott Fitzgerald, you'll love this class. Mr. Parker made me fall in love with really digging deep into what I'm reading and pulling a deeper meaning from the text. He's the best English teacher I've ever had. He grades fair and is always willing to help. This guy will open your eyes to ideas you never thought before. Truly amazing.

Mr. Parker wants to see his students succeed. I had him for honors adventure lit, and it was amazing. You're graded on simple quizzes based on the assigned reading and columns, which are just a double spaced page about anything you care to talk about. You do have to speak in front of the whole class, but it's for 3 minutes max every Thursday.

The work isn't hard but it does get you to think every now and then, and it may even affect your perspective. If you need a 200-level honors elective: TAKE HIM.

He is the BEST english teacher. I had him for 101 and now 102! You read and have a short quiz and the a one page column that can be about anything! He makes class so fun and it is an easy A. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!

Absolutely adore Mr. Parker! He is so sweet and so cute! Although you have to go to class to pass because there is a grade everyday he is very flexible! The assignments are so so easy ! I wish I could take him every year!

this dude is AMAZING. if you dont pass its honestly your fault. you do have to show up to basically all the classes but the class is very easy and you get out early most of the time

professor parker is one of my favorite professors at UA! his lectures are phenomenal, his teaching style is so conducive to learning, and he genuinely cares about what his students have to say. he does have short weekly essays, but he grades them very easily and they're honestly fun to do. absolutely take him if you have the chance!!

Nathan Parker is by far the best professor I've ever had. Currently I am a junior and no one I have taken has been anywhere close to him. He makes you make a quick paragraph column each week but its very easy and simple. You can do it on literally anything if i could take his class for the rest of college I would.

Mr. Parker is the nicest person ever. I had him for an 8am and he always mentioned how happy he was to see us. You do a 2 question quiz over the book and a column (1 page paper, double spaced) that you read in class every week. 2 essays total. He is an easy grader, offers conferences to review essays, and makes class enjoyable.

Professor Parker is the nicest person ever and if you are able to get into his class you are so lucky! Class is mandatory to turn in assignments but you are able to email for partial credit, he always ends class early, and there are no tests except for small easy quizzes on chapters of the book you are reading, one essay and another for the final.

Take this class! As longs you show up each class and do the reading you will have a great experience. Mr Parker is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Literally the best teacher ever, I can't say enough good things. Attendance is mandatory but I promise you won't regret taking this class. There is light reading and writing, and only mini quizzes and your final is an essay.

SO AMAZING!!! One of the best professors I've ever had at Alabama. He really does care for his students and as long as you either read / sparknote the book for the weekly quiz in class, you will be so fine. His quizzes and journals are so easy and he also grades his like 2 essays all year so easily.

The best class and so easy if you read. He tries to make it super interesting even if you don't like English. One of the best professors ive ever had!

This was legit my favorite class. I loved the discussions and the readings were super easy. The workload is light, and he is literally amazing. I wish I could take him for every English class ever.

Fantastic professor, cannot recommend him enough! Truly cares about his students and the material he teaches. Attendance is mandatory, but class time is productive, enjoyable, and he usually dismisses early. There are reading quizzes and columns once a week, but it's easy work.

TAKE THIS CLASS!! He is so kind and the class is easy. Tuesdays: an easy reading quiz and a discussion (lowest quiz dropped). Thursdays: 'column days' - read a 1-2 page paper on anything for the class - easy 100%. Only two in-class papers for midterms and finals. Other than reading, no homework. Attendance is mandatory, but worth it for this class.

Dr. Parker is so fantastic! His EN 103 course is super easy and fun. He does one quiz every week, but as long as you did the reading you are basically guaranteed a 100. The other aspect of the course is once a week you write a column about your life, but as long as you read it aloud you get a 100. Super easy, super fun!

I'm a bio major, yet this is my favorite professor I've had at UA and the only person who has ever inspired me to write. We read books and take quizzes that aren't too difficult 1 day a week, and the other day we tell stories to the class. Book discussion is actually interesting, no midterm, and the final paper is 5-7 pages, so not too bad. 11/10.

If you need a Lit credit, take his class. Extremely easy, as long as you read and know the big moments in the readings you will get 100s, a big part of the class grade is writing one page papers on literally anything you want, can be a story, a rant, whatever you want. A genuinely good guy, remembers things you tell him about you, very friendly.

His class is super chill. Each week you will have a short quiz over the reading material (super easy questions) and then the next class you write a one page paragraph on whatever you want and present it to the class. He is super nice and sweet but if you fear public speaking i would not take his class.

Mr. Parker was a great teacher. Made class reading very manageable by having weekly quizzes. Graded only on quizzes, weekly writing log and 1 paper. If you attend regularly, you will do well.

He genuinely cares about his students and their experiences at UA, and you are pretty much guaranteed a 100 in the class as long as you show up and do the reading every week.

This is one of the best English teachers on campus. He's amazing and super engaging. Attendance isn't mandatory but the days you have to come to class you do have assignments but he does do drops. Literally amazing at what he does and his grading rubric is super easy. He's understandable and caring he wants the best for you in this course!

This is the best professor I've ever had in my entire life. I couldn't wait for my class to start; he was so engaging, he made my whole class connect and care about one another. Dr. Parker would often go off on tangents during discussions that were so interesting, offering perspectives and ideas I'd never previously considered. 10000/10!

Professor Nathan Parker is a really awesome teacher. We met twice a week. Tuesday we would have a reading quiz, Thursday we wrote and presented one page essays. They could be about anything you wanted. The reading quizzes were super easy if you did the reading, and at the end of the year we had one big paper due, but it wasn't bad. (+ Extra credit)
