Dr. Warnberg is overall a pretty good teacher. He breaks everything down and explains clearly (which is nice if you arent a math person.) He will answer any questions you have. Nice guy. Very passionate about math. He expects A LOT out of you, and wants you to work for your grade.
Going into the class not taking a challenging math course for a few years I was kind of worried, but Warnberg did a good job at easing our class into the Calculus grind. As long as you keep up with the WebWork, do the suggested homework every once in a while and go in to the tutor or his office hours every once in awhile you'll do fine.
This man is a great professor. I had him for both calc 1 and calc 2. I'm actually disappointed I couldn't have him again for calc 3. He gives a good amount of homework, but he has good reason for doing so. He wants to make sure you understand things as clearly as possible. He is always there for students and will help you whenever you need it.
Quizzes have problems that aren't on the suggested problems handout.
He will give you homework but not discuss the materials in class, so prepare yourself to have to learn most things by yourself. He is helpful if you meet him at his office hours but if in the classroom you with not get specific help of things you may need. He loves questions so ask ask ask.
If you enjoy learning everything by yourself with no actual instruction, then by all means take his class. He assigns really hard stuff and spends the entire class talking about something completely unrelated. Unless you can go to his office hours every day you're screwed.
Warnberg definitely has potential, but I think he's trying to hard to be this amazing teacher and it's kinda backfiring on him. He's definitely gotten better as the semester's progressed, but his expectations for a freshman required math class are absolutely ridiculous. I think once he gains experience he'll be a really good professor.
Warnberg really wants his classes to succeed. In Calc1, we just had an exam and there was so much content that part of it was take home. He challenges people to ask questions and makes sure everyone is heard. Calc is not any easy class, so there are going to be difficulties, but I think he makes it easier and a little more enjoyable. Go to class!
Dr. Warnberg has a long road to success for his teaching abilities. He expects you to teach yourself before the class, and then when he goes over it (if he does) it is suppose to be a review for you. He gets very off topic, and doesn't clearly go over things. The homework is very different from the tests. He is very nice though.
Very arrogant and inconsiderate to students. He is not very willing to help, and assumes you know the material because he does. He often does not include examples, or will do very minimal, easier problems. Prepare to learn almost everything on your own. Harsh grader and ultimately ruins the learning experience. I'd suggest as a last resort.
Dr. Warnberg is definitely new at teaching. He assumes you know everything he does and thinks about problems in such a fashion that nobody understands. He LOVES math and shows enthusiasm everyday as he enters class. However, I wouldn't recommend taking his course. He doesn't actually teach anything and calls on students randomly. Tests are hard
Dr. Warnberg is a phenomenal professor. You do have to really work for your grade though, but he will help you through every step of the course if you show him that you're willing to seek help and study hard outside of class. I would recommend him to anyone. 10/10 love him.
Very helpful but very tough grader
Dr. Warnberg is very willing to answer questions, and his office hours were helpful. In class was off-topic and unorganized. Calls on people randomly and continually. I didn't enjoy his teaching style. Also assigns three projects throughout the semester (two are in groups) and I felt they didn't help me learn, but required a lot of effort.
Extremely helpful, always willing to answer any question you have. Very tough grader. Assignments require a lot of work and are not worth a lot of points. Class constantly gets off topic. Makes simple math frustrating. Does not give enough time in class to finish quizzes. Quizzes and tests are hard
If you enjoy not using a calculator for anything, showing work for your work, and writing weekly essays about your mathematical successes and failures, this guy is for you. Tough grader, doesn't give enough time for quizzes, I wish a different professor fit into my schedule.
Dr. Warnberg makes you justify each step of the process with math rules. There are no calculators allowed and tests are very difficult. There are three projects that are not worth the points that you receive for them. Each week we write about a fail and a success that we had in a paper. This is by no means and easy class.
Honestly, he was the best professor I've ever had. He's always willing to help and makes you realize your potential. His class is tough, but if you put the appropriate work into it, you'll be successful. He assigns bi-weekly write-ups which help understand concepts on a deeper level and overall help understanding the course material.
While his class was definitely very difficult, Nathen Warnberg is the most caring professor I have had to date. He probably will believe in you and your potential more than you do, and he will constantly encourage you given the chance. He is also very accessible outside of class and would love to talk with you even if you don't have a math question
Wish I never took this class with this prof. Everyone is right when they say he makes you show work of your work. Your answer barely matters if you don't show a rule/property of why your work is what it is. You end up explaining each step on top of the math that's hard to begin with. Exams are horrible. If you're a good student maybe you'll get C
Dr. Warnberg - a really nice guy clearly loves teaching he broke down and cried in class twice Lecture- waste of my time cold calls students whenever possible homework- essay every week that had nothing to do with material about 20 weekly math problems Exams/Quizes- fair grader 4 exams weekly quizzes fairly difficult never gives enough time
There are quizzes every single week, 3 projects which do not really help with learning any material, 4 exams that are quite difficult plus a final, have to write essays every week on a fail and success. Makes you justify all the work that you use to solve a problem. I would have taken a different teacher if my schedule would have allowed it.
He is the best math teach I've ever taken out of my three years at UW-L. He always showed up to class with enthusiasm and ready to teach Linear Algebra. My favorite part is that despite this concept being extremely hard to understand, he understood the students position and would try to help you out. Also, he made you think about the concepts.
quizzes every single week, projects which do not really help with learning any material, exams are difficult, and you have to justify all the work that you use to solve a problem
Warnberg is the coolest professor I have ever had. It's honestly a miracle I passed this class and I don't think I would have if he wasn't so motivating. Do all your webwork and go to office hours.
The only homework is always on webwork.
This class is very frustrating. He spends more time on studying habits and how its okay to fail a quiz or test than he actually does on Calculus. Way to many papers and writing activities for a math class. If you enjoy writing about your math failures then you'll enjoy it. If not, don't take the class. All you'll be in annoyed the entire time.
Try to avoid him, he gives a quiz or test every friday and gives writing assignments that don't have any purpose. You will have up to 4 assignments due at a time. He is very technical and makes you show every step of your solution. If you must take him go to office hours.
Dr. Warnberg is super hard, and I'm not good at math but he's so inspirational and always made me happy. I ended the class with a B/C which is actually amazing for me and it's because he didn't let me give up. Everyone complains about some of his unrelated assignments but they're literally free points that help your grade so don't complain.
Dr. Warnberg is an excellent Calculus professor. The negative reviews most likely came from people who don't like to work and expect grades to be handed to them. Dr. Warnberg is willing to give any amount of help needed and takes the time to actually get to know you. Calculus demands attention to detail, but I personally recommend Dr. Warnberg.
Extremely hard grader and does not take his time reviewing his exams. Most exams of cannot be finished in time unless you rush through it. He also gives a lot of assignments and exam reviews are very broad. I have NEVER worked harder than I have in this class, I studied more than 30 hours a week and I am finishing the class w/ a 75% (MTH 207)
Dr. Warnberg genuinely cares for his students and his passion for teaching shows. It was an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to learn from him. He will push you to not only think deeply about mathematics, but to think about who you want to be for others. Expect to work hard, but know he'll be there to help you every step of the way.
Dr. Warnberg is the best professor I have ever had. Yes, he will make you work for your grade, but you will learn so much more from him than any other math professor! I felt in later math classes, I was way ahead of other students that never had him. On top of that, if you take him seriously you will learn much more than just math!
Dr. Warnberg is the best professor I've ever had at UWL. If other people rated him bad, it is because they aren't hard workers. You really have to earn an A in the class. If you put in the time and effort, and take advantage of office hours, then you will succeed. He is super influential and he is probably the smartest person I know.
Worst teacher. He preaches positivity but he is a pretty negative teacher. Extremely hypocritical. If you are struggling, you are always the problem. Its more "what can YOU do different", not "what can I do to help you".Not a lot of compromise. He makes concepts WAY harder than they need to be. Also give a lot of BS projects. Would not recommend!
Dr. Warnberg is so caring and passionate about his class, it's absolutely astounding. He shows this by always being accessible and although quizzes and exams are tough, he shows everyone respect and direction.
Dr. Warnberg is probably the best professor I've had at UWL. You have to be willing to work hard or you won't pass. The webwork can be very challenging but he's super helpful during office hours! Don't always have enough time on quizzes and exams so work fast. Some quizzes were group quizzes. Also there's lots of opportunities for extra credit!
Dr. Warnberg inspired me to select a Mathematics Minor. He is one of the most caring individuals at UWL. In general Calculus 2 is a very difficult class so attending class is a must. He is incredibly helpful during office hours and really loves his students. Him and Dr. Vidden are the most passionate people about Mathematics. Makes class very fun.
Dr. Warnberg is probably one of my favorite professors I have ever had! He is extremely helpful in laying out all the steps that are needed to complete a problem and will always help you understand where certain things are derived from so you can get a better understanding of the material. He has lots of office hours and is extremely helpful there.
Dr. Warnberg was a fantastic professor, and inspired me in a lot of ways. I haven't been in a math class for 4 years before taking this course. I was nervous and intimidated, especially because I was taking it over the summer. Do the assessment questions, go to office hours and ask questions. You will be fine with Dr. Warnberg.
Dr. Warnberg is a tough grader, has a lot of assignments, and yes makes you justify your work. This class isn't for anyone that wants to just sail through and get handed an A, which seems to be all the people with negative comments on here, he makes you learn and actually understand what you are doing. The assignments and papers are helpful.
The concepts in this class are fairly simple and Dr. Warnberg makes them so much harder to learn and understand. His grading is extremely difficult, he's very picky. I have class during his office hours and he isn't willing to meet with me outside of his office hours so I have to go to the tutor center almost every day to complete my homework.
Dr. Warnberg really makes you learn why everything works and makes you justify everything. Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy A because he makes you work for it A LOT but he's inspirational and stresses a growth mindset. He cares about his students and has lots of office hours. Tests are VERY hard so do tons of practice.
Two words. Busy. Work. Be prepared to have 3-4 worksheets a week plus art projects, writing projects and group projects throughout the semester for a MATH class. Although a nice a guy, he just seems to be too unorganized for the amount of work he gives out. Would not recommend.
I'll get multiple points off a problem even if I have the correct answer for little things and if you have questions you have to go to office hours since he won't answer lengthy ones for class even if you can't make it because you have class during his hours. Also no study guides, and he has multiple resources online, but no way to get through them
Dr. W doesn't know how to teach to lower math levels. He assumes you know more than you do or you have an abundance of time to do math. He's a tough grader that will dock you points if you kinda did it wrong, but got the right answer. Calls on students with popsicle stick so participate is a must. Overall wouldn't recommend unless you're desperate.
Dr. Warnberg was my Calc 1 teacher for freshman year. He was one of my favorite teachers as he is so thorough on his explanations and really does care about each individual's success. This was, however, a class with homework nearly everyday and required constant time management. Not an easy class, but I did learn and still remember a lot.
Dr. Warnberg is the hardest professor I have ever taken for any subject. He will take points off of something you got right because he doesn't think you understand what you did. Be ready for 3-4 assignments per week, writing projects, group projects, art projects, and weekly quizes. Oh, and the hardest of exams! I would find a different professor!!
He gives lots of homework, but it's manageable and really helpful for learning the content. He is a great speaker and really encourages questions. It is a hard class, but Warnberg does his best to help everyone learn.
I loved Dr. Warnberg. He cares so much about his students and really pushes you to be a very good student. At the end of the semester, he choked up and said "Make me proud". That will stick with me forever. He is an amazing person, and an outstanding teacher.
I think he over complicated this class. I could see him being better for upper level math classes though. There are a 5 group projects and weekly homework and quizzes meant to boost your grade, annoying but help. Also I seemed to always be rushed through his exams. He is very willing to help and seems to care about you doing well.
Group projects (art, papers, etc.) do not make sense in a mathematics class.
Probably the most enthusiastic teacher I've had at UWL, really cares about each students understanding of why math works. There was a lot of work outside of class but it was expected and it kind of was a grade booster since its a tough class. His sense of humor and desire for his studies and students really made me appreciate math in a new way
For a general level class, this was one of the most stressful classes I have taken through my college career. I took it as a summer course, which made it even tougher (a full semester load slammed into 8 weeks). Dr. Warnberg really pushed office hours which were actually super helpful. He also offers a lot of extra credit which was great.
Dr. Warnberg is the greatest professor I've ever had at UWL. MTH 208 is hard and he knows that so he is incredibly thorough in lecture but you still have to do the homework if you want to pass the class. Gives out quizzes that help with what'll be on the test, believes heavily in participation and actually cares about all of his students. Take him!
One of the most passionate professors I've ever had. He cares deeply for his students and wants nothing more than your success. On the last day, he cried while telling us to make him proud, which will stick with me forever. Best math professor UWL has to offer.
Dr. Warnberg is the best math teacher I have ever had. He actually cares about his student's success and is willing to help. If you put in effort in this class you will get a good grade. Go to his office hours and ask for help because he is always willing to help a student succeed. Tests aren't too hard if you study and practice. Highly Recommend!
Very tough grader. Doesnt really seem to care about his students. Gives extra credit but only because the exams are super difficult. Classes usually end late. Calls on multiple students for every question so be prepared to participate. Do lots of studying.
Initially, I did not really like Dr. Warnberg, but over time I began to really enjoy him. Upon transitioning to online due to COVID 19, he was the most caring and understanding professor I had! Some of his assignments seem irrelevant, but they actually are useful! Exams can be hard, tho. Looking forward to taking more math classes with him :)
Although he took some warming up to, Dr. Warnberg is hands down the best professor I have had at UWL. Linear Algebra is no joke, but he knows that every student is capable of success and will help you discover that within yourself. He teaches you to actually learn from your failures, which is game-changing. Weekly reflections boost the grade too!
Dr. Warnberg is one of my favorite Professors at UWL. Dr. W truly cares about students and their success! Dr. W is going to push you to your potential. When the shutdown happened in March he went out of his way to make the transition smoothly. Yes, Dr. W does little assignments every week and webwork but these assignments will only help your grade.
Dr. Warnberg really cares about all students and their success. With classes being online, he allowed us to have a group for the quizzes and tests. He did make the tests hard to challenge our brain and the lectures were a little difficult to understand so I would recommend rewatching them. All around, I think he was a great professor.
Dr. Warnberg started out as a cool guy then went down hill. Condescending when answering questions and made it seem like you should already know the material when it hadn't even been taught. Exams and quizzes very difficult too. Went to office hours to ask about problems and told me I had to try to do it myself instead of asking him.
This class was interesting and seems useful, but was a LOT of work. I spent more time working on this class than all my other classes combined. It is not a 3 credit class, consider it a 4 or 5 credit class when adding. Getting a good grade is possible if you go to office hours often and don't procrastinate. Proofs are hard, but revisions help.
Dr. Warnberg is a really strong and reliable teacher but his class is very heavy. You have to stay on top of things and be a responsible student and there are weekly quizzes and reflections but they are very beneficial in helping your grade. He really cares for his students and if you make a mistake he wants you to learn from it.
This class requires a LOT of time outside class if you want to maintain a good grade. Theres lots of quizzes/reflections/other assignments each week that youll need to stay on top of. Prof Warnberg is actually a really nice guy though, and you can tell he genuinely cares about the success of his students.
One of the best professors I have had yet. Took the class online, all the exams and quizzes were taken with classmates. Made the questions challenging, but super respectful and wanted you do to good!
I'm going, to be honest, I believe the math department at UWL sucks. But Professor Warnberg will make sure you pass. I am so bad at math and college math in general is faster and harder but he allows you to learn at your own speed and is very understanding. He is an amazing professor and I recommend him is you struggle with math!
Very nice professor, probably one of the best, I've had. He's very caring for the students and very flexible, there are a lot of homework assignments but he is very helpful. Non-judgmental and really wants the best for his students.
At the beginning of the school year, I wasn't so sure about Professor Warnberg, but he is honestly one of the better math teachers I've had. There are lots of opportunities for you to up your grade, and though those extra assignments can be tedious, they really saved my grade. It's also obvious that he cares about his students' success + wellbeing.
At first, his class annoyed me because of all the assignments we had to due. But after having him for the whole semester, those annoying assignments really boosted my grade. He cares a lot and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions or getting them wrong. He takes late work and the exams are taken with groups, which is super helpful.
Professor Warnberg gives a lot of extra credit work and the busy works he gives you really boosts your grade. I took a regular math class last semester and I hate to drop it, but now I have a really good grade because of him. Take him if you are willing to do extra busy work to get a good grade. Also quizzes and exams are with groups.
At the start of the semester, I thought his weekly reflections were dumb. However, they ended up boosting my grade a lot. Gives many extra credit opportunities. He cares about his students and goes out of his way to help. Doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions/getting them wrong. Take quizzes/exams in groups. Can sometimes grade tough.
Dr. Warnberg cares deeply about the success of his students inside and outside of the classroom. I switched into his class after a week of being with a different professor and I am so thankful I did. If you are deciding between Warnberg and others, I highly suggest you choose Warnberg! He really helps his students all find success
Dr. Warnberg is one of the most caring professors. He wants to see his students succeed and will try to help in any way. Every test in this class is taken with a group, including the final. I had this class online, and we had a few short weekly quizzes to check our understanding of the lecture. There are lots of extra credit opportunities as well!
Best math 150 professor out there, always extra credit that is easy to do, and he cares about all his students. He gives extensions, while there is lots of work such as quizzes and group work, it makes your grade in the class not change as much if you do bad on an exam. 100% recommend.
Dr Warnberg and he was an amazing, caring professor. I took the class online, and we only met in person on tuesdays, thursdays, and fridays. Everything was done in a group, quizzes and exams, with open note. His class was a lot of work, but there were so many chances to earn extra credit or points in other easy assignments. 10/10
Warnberg is one of the best professors I've had. You will need to stay on task in his class, as he assigns a lot of homework, but the homework makes it virtually impossible to fail the class. if you are bad at math, take Warnberg. If you simply just try, even if you get everything wrong, you will pass this class. Also, exams taken in groups.
Nathan is an amazing professor. While the class is lots of work as there is a lot of small quizzes, homework, and other assignments, most work is done in groups, he gives extensions whenever needed, and gives extra credit quite a bit. He makes it impossible to not succeed in his class. He loves math and loves his students. Would highly recommend.
Overall not the best math professor out there but was decent for being online. Some of his assignments and grading made no absolute sense. But he is very helpful and reachable when needed.
For a math class there are way too many papers written about how we failed and how we made errors. Not enough class time spent on actual math and too much about feelings. Even though our exams were in groups he made many very difficult with things we never did. He also got rude when contradicting him or pointing out flaws.
You read that right. So many papers in a math class. If you suck at math you should take Warnberg. All the fail/success reflections he makes you write makes it impossible to fail. All miscellaneous homework assignments aside, Warnberg is a great teacher and definitely knows the material well. I think he has an ego problem but good math teacher.
He was just okay. Lectures online & meet twice a week online for class. Take weekly group quizzes and have group exams. Exams are very hard! Takes off points and doesn't tell you why. I should have ended this class with a B, but gave me a B/C because he graded something poorly. Write weekly reflections which boost grade. Helpful in office hours.
first half of class to talk about random stuff & 15 minutes of what we were learning; gave me 7/10 on scratch work; said I needed to explain every answer even though I had work for every problem; acts like he cares about everyone's individual learning, but obviously not about people who know what they're doing. feel like I learned nothing.
So. Many. Papers. I have never had to write any form of papers for a math class until now. Was an extreme grader, even if I had all the scratch work, I had occasions where I didn't fully explain what I was doing and then got a low grade because of it. Exams are done in groups which is nice but they are at least two hours, and the final is five.
Everything is groupwork & no say over who your groupmates are. Video lectures, you teach yourself. If you get bad groupmates, then you're cooked unless you're good at math. Would get points off from scratchwork even if you got the right answer. Weekly papers, 3 hour exams, 5 hour final. Class was a part time job. Had to go to tutoring every week.
Egotistical. Dude is teaching college algebra and making us write papers about Toxic Perfectionsism and makes 30% of your grade scratch work. Pipe down buddy. This class isn't a full time job either, the homework busy work load is insane for how easy the class is.
Warnberg thinks very highly of himself so he gives out a ton of busy work in a math class. All due respect, no one cares about papers about Toxicity, I signed up for a math class not an English class. The class is easy however, it's just basic college algebra and is very easy to do well in.
Warnberg was okay he just assigns a lot of work and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff. He teaches well it's just a lot of work for the low level class it is.
Why so much writing in a Math Class
Warnberg genuinely might think his class is a full time job but truthfully it isn't. So many papers about dumb stuff in a math class. He is actually a D1 Yapper who needs to be humbled
This professor is very understanding and a good guy - approachable but why do I have 2 papers due every week for a math class?? He also assigns crazy long exams - they usually take 2-3 hours but you can take them in a group. He always asks students to ask him something random class - for why? I feel like I am working a full time job in this class.
There is a lot of busy work, but it's basically impossible to fail and helps your grade a lot. Professor Warnberg is a really understanding guy and he makes the math feel much easier, tests are also open notes and taken in groups. If you struggle a bit in math and are okay with some extra work that boosts your grade, take Warnberg.
Be ready to want to rip your hair out. Every other week you have fail/success papers, error analysis, and a gas station project. All quizzes and exams are group work, but each exam takes at least 2 hours for 20 questions and each quiz takes at least and hour for 10 questions. We are assigned weekly individual quizzes too. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
so. much. work. This class alone has more homework than my other classes combined. If you are bad at math though, I recommend you take him as we have around 10 essays which are 8 points each. But yeah, just so much work.
Papers every other week about white supremacy for a math class. A ton of work, and it takes about two hours for each exam for just 20 questions. If you're bad at math, you should take him because of all the easy points, but otherwise, stay away from this man.
I regret taking this class. Super overwhelming. You basically do everything outside of class so might as well do an online course. Quizzes and exams outside of class time and lots of papers--not my favorite. A good guy but just very confusing at times. I don't recommend this hybrid class because it's too much for a basic college algebra class.
Hybrid class; lect. online. Group work for wkly quizzes, mnthly exams & final. Nathan was intimidating to approach & I felt he had a bit of an ego; I often reached out to my HS math teacher for help. 19 reflection essays; 103 total assignments/exams/extra credit. Lots more work than expected for the course but I really felt I earned my A.
A lot of papers and group work but worth it got an A
I don't really care too much about the A I got in his class, my opinion of him doesn't change. Warnberg has a huge ego and thinks his class is the only class you should worry about. Basically a full time job with papers about stupid stuff in a math class. If you want a free A take him but be ready to work, A LOT
Warnberg is the worst professor I have ever had. Period.
Papers about white supremacy in a math class is wild bruh
Professor Warnberg was not bad at all. Show up to class and you'll be fine. Took his class last semester and was not hard to follow along. Weekly group quizzes and unit group exams. Papers every other week. His class made it easy for me to speak in other classes, he created a sense of community. The quizzes can be tricky but not too crazy
He is not a difficult grader, however his MTH 150 class has a ridiculously heavy workload. You will spend hours outside of class teaching yourself material, then you will be required to take multiple quizzes a week and exams on your own time. On top of that he requires essays nearly every week and group projects.
Warnberg is awful. White Supremacy papers in a basic college algebra class is just out of pocket. Don't take him unless you want to work a lot for nothing.
Warnberg is the worst professor I have ever had
I didn't like Warnberg for College Algebra. Way too much for for such a simple math class and miscellaneous assignments and papers that don't do anything for your learning. Honestly speaking the reviews on here are right in saying he kind of has an ego problem and I wouldn't recommend him. Definitely one of my least favorite professors.
Way too much work from this dude. College Algebra is a full time job with bro teaching it. I didn't like him at all and papers about weird stuff every week too.
Warnberg is terrible. I would never take him again
I had to take math 150 twice, ended up failing then I had Nathan and have never gotten a grade lower than a B. He does assign quite a bit of work but you have typically have till friday-sunday to get it done. He does do a handful of writing assignments weekly/every other week, and does assign group projects. He also assigns lots of extra credit.
It's really clear that Warnberg cares a lot about his students. He's very understanding, so extensions are given if you ask. There is a lot of homework but you get multiple attempts. He drops the lowest 10ish quizzes. The tests and final are group work-- attend class. The people in your group are attendance based.
Hybrid class, wish it was all online because I couldn't stand listening to this dude talk in person. Genuinely one of the worst professors I've had in my time in college.
Dr. Warnberg is unlike any professor I've had before. He has a huge emphasis in creating a positive culture in his classes, and backs it up by being a caring guy. A very heavy workload with weekly individual and group quizzes along with other assignments, but nothing unattainable. He gives you everything you need, but it's a lot of work.
Hes horrible and irritating. If you need to pass take him.If you wanna b doing nothing else with your life besides irrelevant assignments ina math class then take him.If you wanna protect your mental health and stay sane then think twice. He barely knows whats going on and everything he says is a waste of time, you might as well be your own teacher.
Math Art Project? Like are we serious
Warnberg's workload for a College Algebra class is out of hand. Makes you feel like you're working a full-time job. Also papers about White Supremacy, Toxic Perfectionism, and Math Art Projects are absolutely dumb. He doesn't back it up by being a good teacher either.
all of these reviews are accurate. easy A but a LOT of busywork. took as a hybrid class which def recommend. everything is groupwork. weekly group quizzes outside of class. group exams (also outside of class). papers every other week- insane for a math class imo. easy A but be ready to do A LOT of work. cold calls on ppl in class to participate
Professor Warnberg really cares about his students and wants you to do well. He's easy to talk to and a little awkward in a fun way. The coursework is heavy with weekly reflections and 4–5 recorded exams, but he allows calculators and the exams are taken outside of class.
Nathan is amazing! The courseload is a lot, but all of the little assignments really help your grade and there are many opportunities for extra credit. Nathan cares more about teaching you concepts about life and how to manage it and get through it as individuals than he cares about making sure you know ALL the course information.
