I loved taking Nate's intro to Advertising class: He gives awesome lectures with lots of videos and examples, he clearly explains the grading of the class so you don't feel tricked, and he is really helpful in person (over email, not so much).
Nothing special. Big lecture class so lectures every day except for creative work days for a big group project. Lectures were made more interesting with tons of advertising examples. Very easy to get a good grade in.
Dr. Evans was a pleasure to have. He made his lectures very engaging and encourage participation. Actual course work isn't too hard. Don't bother buying the textbook, and take advantage of all of the extra credit. It helps BIG TIME
Dr. Evans was amazing! He gives tons of opportunities for extra credit, drops your lowest test grade (you can choose not to take the final if you're satisfied with your grade) and provides several advertising examples in class which makes class very entertaining. I hope I can take another class of his in the future. TAKE HIM for an easy A!
Professor Evans sincerely wants you to get an A in his class. Study the lecture slides before exams, do the homework assignments, and do the extra credit SONA studies and you will get an A.
Dr. Evans really wants all of his students to succeed. Lectures are interesting and topics are clearly and easily presented, never confusing. There a multiple extra credit opportunities with an optional final. Highly recommended.
The first exam is only difficult because you need to read the textbook- you don't really need it for the other ones. He drops your lowest test grade even if it doesn't say so in the syllabus. His class was OKAY. I'm a PR major but I didn't necessarily enjoy his class. There are tons of extra credit- do them and you'll be fine.
Literally the easiest class ive ever taken. Never went to class, still made an A. First test is the hardest, so study for it. Do your part in the group project, and all the extra credit opportunities. He drops the lowest test grade.
He really does care about his students and wants them to do well. He drops the lowest test score, and by volunteering for research studies outside of class you can get 5 points added to your final grade. One easy group project, 3 tests total, 5 easy assignments to boost your grade. Material was pretty interesting even if not an advertising major
Hes a great professor. the first test is the hardest due to a ton of memorization and book info, but other than that it's good! he's awesome and makes the class fun and interesting. Can't wait to take him again.
Not only is Evans a really nice and caring professor, his class is also easy and he's passionate about what he talks about. Very rare textbook use except for the first test and one simple group project that he gives you a ton of days in class to work on. He really wants his students to do well and also a fashion icon
This class isn't difficult. I personally just wasn't really into advertising so it wasn't amazing but I would still recommend this class. Marketing majors may enjoy this, along with advertising majors of course. Evans is super chill, pretty easy, & really passionate about his craft.
I really enjoyed his class. He's very nice and open to answering questions. You can tell he's passionate about the subject because he has shared his research with us and includes lots of examples in class. The group project was especially helpful if you are an advertising major because it gives you hands-on experience with executing an ad campaign.
Dr. Evans was a great professor. I would definitely take him again when it's possible. The tests are very straightforward from the notes. He recommends you buy the book, but there isn't much to know from there so you could do without. The group project is really fun actually and its a chance to get a good grade.
I loved going to Dr. Evans class! He is very nice and cares a lot about his students. He makes lectures interesting and enjoyable. If you go to class and study the material he says to in the book, you should make an A easily. There are also so many extra credit opportunities, and you can potentially get 5 points added to your overall grade!
I loved this class with Doctor Evans. Definitely do all the extra credit and it will be an easy A. The group project isn't bad at all. He gives you a lot of time to work on it in class. He really cares about teaching and making things easier for his students.
This class is very interesting and also very easy. Dr. Evans is a great professor who is passionate about the subject. The tests are easy and so is the final group project. The textbook is not needed, I never even opened it and got an A. Highly recommend taking this class!
Intro to Advertising was really easy! There are many extra credit options and lectures are interesting and short. It's not mandatory to go and he puts the powerpoints online. You only need the book for the first test.
If you put in the effort, you'll do well. Nate is very nice and is clear about what he expects from us. I would recommend going to lecture but you could probably do alright without - it's not required. He also offers extra credit through SONA studies which is awesome.
Attendance isn't mandatory and he posts the slides on ELC so you don't necessarily have to go. He is very passionate about the subject, so the lectures aren't boring! If you go to class and read the book, the tests are easy. He gives out so much extra credit that you would have to try to do badly in this class. Stay on top of due dates!
This class actually had nothing to do with my major. I took it for fun and I don't regret it! Evans is so easy-going and the lectures were enjoyable. You just have to do the work assigned and study a little for tests and you'll ace the class easily.
Dr. Evans was fantastic. His class was easy and he posts the lectures online so as long as you listen to them while you're there or read them online, you'll do totally fine on the test. He was very approachable and gave great project feedback, plus he's a cutie. Would definitely take again!
This class wasn't bad at all. I didn't go to class much, but still managed to get an A-. It is very lecture heavy, but he does a lot of videos and commercials which makes it interesting. The group project is kinda a pain, but he grades it easily. Study for the tests! He drops the lowest of 3 tests. There are assignments but those are easy A's!
Fun class! Interesting lectures and Dr. Evans puts everything into ELC (slides and grades). He is very quick on grading, so you know where you stand in the class. Take him if you can!
Evans is awesome. His lectures are really interesting and if you go to him for help he gives you really good feedback. I highly recommend taking him and this course.
Nate is a great lecturer and straight up tells you on the first day of class that this is an easy A. He cares more about making you care about the class than making the material seem dense. He makes the material interesting, and he obviously is passionate about it. Don't bother with the textbook, just show up to class. Didn't read once and got an A
Evans is a great professor. He keeps lectures interesting and makes you feel like you're actually learning something. This class is an easy A. He takes the highest 2 grades out of 3 tests and there's one group project. He is clear on what he expects.
Evans is super chill and really loves his job. Class was lecture and test heavy but if you just study the notes and do the group project you will be fine because he offers extra credit. Highly recommend!
Really the only complaint I have is that he has such mundane lectures. The class is really easy and he actually will answer your question. Project is easy and the exams are really straight forwards as long as you read the book for two of the exams. He will let you know what to study and what to read. If you want an easy A, take his class.
There are 3 exams(drops the lowest), 6 very easy assignments, and a group project. The only thing that was difficult about this project was taking notes in his class. He does not hand you notes, you have to be physically present in his class to understand the lectures and his notes. STUDY BOTH lectures and the book. Do all of the extra credit!!
Sorry to other raters here, but even though I got an A in the class it just was not challenging and he seems more concerned about being liked than preparing us for a career. Nice enough guy, but as you can see from other ratings little substance.
Super easy class. Watch the lectures and you will do fine on the tests with minimal prep. Extra credit is 5 points on your class average and easy to complete. Lectures can be a bit boring at times but has some interesting content
Professor Evans is awesome! He has very interesting lectures and clear grading criteria where we are graded by 6 assignments, 3 tests, and a group project. All are easy to achieve A's on if you take notes and pay attention! There is also an opportunity for 5 points of extra credit through Grady Sona added to the final grade.
Dr. Evans is a super personable guy. His exams are fairly challenging, but he provides a clear outline for studying and is not out to trick you. Group project is pretty painless and he is always there to answer any questions you may have. Solid option for a Grady or general elective course, his lectures are really interesting and engaging.
Evans is an amazing professor!! He is truly very passionate about what he teaches and it shows! He has a very clear grading policy and theres a big group project at the end of the class that is super easy!! As long as you study the slides and read the book you will be perfectly fine! I do recommend reading the book for the first test!!
The first test will scare you but you can bring your grade up with extra credit and projects. Cares a lot about the subject and answers questions. Not mandatory but his lectures are very helpful
Overall not a bad class, theres just a lot of notes. 3 exams, 6 assignments, and a project. I feel like you cant get less than a B.
He is an expert in his field and is good at teaching it. My only problems with the class were the 30% weight with the group project and some questions from the lecture would be on the test so attend class.. Good professor but would change a few things about the course.
Good guy and interesting class but there are three tests and a group project that decide a lot of your grade and they can be hard. He also pulls from lectures and readings for tests. While he does post the slides I would still go to class because you'll miss things.
I really liked this class! If you actually go to class and pay attention you can make an A. There is a group project for 30% of your grade and a ton of extra credit oppurtunities so even if you flunk an exam you can boost your grade.
ADPR with Evans is an interesting and engaging class, so even though attendance isn't required, it will 10000% benefit your grade if you attend the lectures and absorb the content. Your grade is based on 6 easy assignments, an easy group project, and 3 tests which aren't the easiest but very passable. Opportunities for up to 5pts extra credit.
Literally an amazing professor!! Go take him
Group project is crucial for a good grade, but it is very simple and forward. A textbook is required, but it is really not worth it. I read it maybe twice and still received an A in the class. His lecture material is posted online and he bases tests off of that. Very easy class if you do the work required.
The first test is definitely the hardest, but that's the only time you really need the textbook. Group project is really easy. Homework grades help boost your grade. Lectures can be boring. Professor Evans is a nice guy and the class material is pretty interesting.
Evans is a super easy grader. He keeps class entertaining by playing a bunch of ads every class. He seems passionate about advertising which makes class enjoyable and light. I wouldn't say I learned much but good thing this isn't my major. If you want an easy elective take Evans
He is a really great professor and has a really interesting course. As long as you show up to his lectures and take good notes you can pass the class with an easy A.
Great lectures, funny & nice, and the slides have lots of pictures/examples. Class does have a textbook but he gives the exact pages needed so it's not overkill reading. Very clear about what will be on tests, and provides help when needed. Final project is easy and graded fair. If you go to class, you should get an A. Keeps his ELC updated.
Lectures can be a bit repetitive and unengaging at times but overall an okay class. Good thing about lecture though is he shows lots ad videos for examples. Assignments are pretty easy and line up with the material. One group project that makes up a large part of the grade but isn't too hard. Tests are not too difficult if you study beforehand.
All of the assignments and the group project are pretty easy. Tests aren't terrible if you study. He posts the powerpoints but I still recommend going to class as he goes more in-depth. Some lectures can get a bit boring but he shows lots of interesting videos. Offers up to 5 extra credit points. Definitely passionate about the class and caring!!
This class was pretty easy with a bit of light studying. I ended up barely using the textbook. Dr. Evans was a pretty boring lecturer and talked really quietly at times, but I can tell he's a really cool guy. The content is cool to learn about and the group project is honestly fun if you have good members! Take Evans!
I read the reviews before this class and everyone made him seem so nice. And I guess he is nice, but this class was SO hard. Maybe I'm just also not a good test taker. He definitely answers questions if you come up to him. He seems prideful and cusses a lot. He also talks very quietly. There are 6 assignments, 3 exams (no final!) and group project.
Get to class earlier and sit closer; I understand what people mean when they write they can't hear him! The extra credit is extremely helpful, upped my grade by a letter. 6 easy and simple assignments, a group project that is not terrible, and three exams I made low Bs on but still did fine. Attendance is not mandatory, but GO for the tests!
He made advertising super interesting. You did not need to attend the lectures, but it helps give you some insight behind the slides. You had to take a couple of tests (which the 1st is the hardest), some hw assignments, a group project (which is super easy if you can get all your group members to carry their weight), and extra credit through SONA.
Really accessible professor who cares about what he teaches. Interesting group project and tons of extra credit, would definitely take him again.
I really enjoyed Evans. He was an interesting guy who was actually interested in what he taught. The class was overall super easy, lectures are not really necessary. The creative project was super fun and insightful.
The professor likes to engage with the class and have discussions, which makes learning the content interesting. His tests were so hard and tricky because they were very lecture-heavy and specific. I went to every class and still didn't make the best grades on the exams. Extra credit was the only thing that saved me. He's also very prideful...
Professor Evans is clearly knowledgeable about advertising. He uses a lot of examples in class to help further explain concepts that he is talking about. There are a few assignments, 3 test, and a group project. The test are average. You definitely don't have to attend everyday. He will have a few guest lecturers. Sit at the front of the class.
Lectures are boring.Tests are difficult and I attended every single session. On the 2nd test, he made us memorize 15 formulas, which 5 we literally "learned" like two days beforehand. When questioned about all the formulas we were supposed to memorize in a limited amount of time, he got very defensive and rude with a student.
Professor Evans is super nice and makes lectures interesting, but by the end of the year the hour long lectures get a little boring. There are only 3 exams and they count for half your grade, they are harder than you'll except but he gives extra credit. There is also a big group project but it's very doable and makes for an easy grade.
The actual GOAT. I love Professor Evans. He is very understanding and kind. If you are interested in advertising, the class is very informative and interesting to attend. If not, it is still a fun class and the lectures are optional. There is a group project, but as long as your members are somewhat decent, you'll be fine.
Professor Evans was a great instructor overall. Attendance isn't mandatory but it pays off to attend class. He's very knowledgeable in the field and some test material is based on discussions had in class. Some extra credit is given at the end of the semester too. Great class overall.
He seems like a nice guy and was a good teacher. This class is pretty easy and would recommend. The tests are easy as long as you study and know what's on the slides. There are a lot of extra credit options for this class.
Not a bad class. Lectures follow powerpoints that are posted on elc and he makes thing pretty interesting. Also offers extra credit for overall grade.
He is very chill and is obviously very knowledgable about the industry as a whole. The tests were multiple choice and not too bad if you show up to class. The group project is easy as long as you communicate with your group.
Super interesting class and he's a great professor. Although there is no attendance, the tests have a lot to do with what he actually says in class, not just the slides. Very organized professor and passionate about the subject. 4 tests, 6 assignments, and group project. Easy A if you go to class.
Prof Evans is AMAZING! There are 4 tests, 1 group project making an ad campaign and he allows you to get 5 full points on your final COURSE grade if you participate in 5 SONA-studies through Grady. If you participate in class he recognizes it, and is very kind! Attendance is not mandatory but if you go and do minimal studying you can get an A!
Professor Evans is fine... I personally did not like his teaching style or the fact that the class was at 8 am. He tends to be sassy when questions are asked but overall cares a lot about the subject. I had trouble with the tests but I did really enjoy the project. Not the worst class but definitely not the best.
he's chill but nothing great to say
Lectures are so boring. And also at 8am. He lectures in a really slow, tedious way. Tests are difficult and I attended class. When questioned about anything he gets very defensive and passive aggressive. If you're the type of person that needs to feel like what they're learning is important to do well and "care" about a class, don't take this one.
His class was fine, wasn't really willing to work with students about looking at grades or points. Having a group project in a fully online class is crazy work but it was easy. The exams we're fine, teacher was okay. Overall just an average class, didn't require alot of time.
I took this as an online summer course and would definitely recommend! The exams were very straight forward, with just a few homework assignments and a group project. Dr Evans gives tons of examples and makes the concepts very clear and understandable. Professor seemed nice when responding to emails, although it did take a couple days to hear back.
most exams seemed easy at first glance (besides the one where you had to memorize multiple mathematical formulas almost overnight) but in fact were not so straightforward
You need to study more than you think for the exams, but I hardly attended this class because he posts all the slides. He is nice and makes the lectures interesting with plenty of examples and clear definitions.
Attendance is optional but I would recommend going. Exams are pretty easy if you study and there is basically no homework for the class. Pretty interesting material if you are a Grady student. Lectures can be boring sometimes. Group project which isn't too bad and honestly kind of fun. Would definitely take this class and prof again!
There are online quizzes which are easy and then 4 exams (no cumulative final). He posts all of the slides on elc so you don't have to go to class.
Evans is the classic entry level professor - oddly formatted slideshows, scantron exams, and a little attitude. On the flip, attendance isn't mandatory, five extra credit points, and overall easy material. There IS an important group project, so mentally prepare. I wouldn't have taken this if I didn't have to for my major, but not a bad experience.
Was lowkey mean and not that understanding, his material on the test was harder than the class
Attendance is not mandatory, but would recommend going to the review day before test. Grades consist of 3 Exams, a group project, and a couple of assignments. The exams are a bit difficult, but as long as you study you'll be fine. The group project is very interesting and insightful (especially if you're an advertising major).Good professor overall
Evans doesn't require attendance, but if you don't attend class, you wont have a clue what to do on the tests. All multiple choice, though. There is one group project that you have in class time to do, but he doesn't give very clear instructions on it imo. A few outside assignments and readings that were easy, and some extra credit which is nice.
I took his 8am class and although he didn't take attendance, I tried to go to as many as I could. He posts slides but they wouldn't really maker the most sense if you didn't hear him talk. There are 3 exams (in person on paper), and one group project. Pretty chill id have to say
Great professor overall. Attendance is not mandatory but I suggest trying to attend. Tests are not difficult if you take notes and go to class. Easy A.
This man is truly stubborn and a pain. I did bad on every single test and I blame him.
He was okay. Very sub par experience, and his lectures are not really all that engaging so coming to class was incredibly hard. He gave somewhat passive aggressive responses to students and was just kind of a meh professor overall. If you study you'll do fine on the tests and he reads mostly off slides anyways.
I found the class to be super easy because I attended the majority of his lectures; however, I didn't really care for him as a person. He's a bit passive-aggressive when answering questions he deems stupid or repetitive, which I get, but it doesn't make him the most likable guy. He only had 8 AMs available, which was honestly my biggest struggle.
he is the only prof for this class + only 8ams. that being said, attendance is not mandatory. i never went - only for the group project which was an easy A. assignments were easy, averaged a c+ on the 3 exams (just couldn't get myself to be interested, which unmotivated me) did extra credit, and ended with an A+! study the slides he post
Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want to do well you need to attend. Tests are lecture heavy but you also need to pay attention when he mentions important readings. There is a group project that was fun to do and relatively easy. Overall the class isn't too bad.
He may come off as cold sometimes, but if you are interested / majoring in Advertising, then this is a great course for you. There are three pretty basic tests and one group project. I also did the Honors Option for this course which was pretty straight-forward.
there are 3 test, a big project and hmw assignments with some extra credit. You kinda have to do well on the tests and study for them. You have to put in the work for the exams, and the project was pretty interesting to do. Only teaches 8 and and i never went to class. He offers extra credit at the end which helps a lot.
Overall, Dr. Evans was a good professor for the course. The class consists of 3 exams (50%), a group project (30%), and 6 easy homework assignments (20%). The project is straight forward as long as you follow the rubric exactly. He gives you about 2-3 weeks in class to work on the project. He's sassy lowkey, but its easy to get an A.
