His teaching is so dull and very boring. the material is impossible and doesnt give any study materials for midterm. overall horrible and makes a complicated course harder
The lectures are interesting, and he has a lot of experience in industry which is very useful. He is very nice and always open to talking to students. Be sure to participate in class as this can impact your grade. Attendance is taken regularly. The textbook is pretty useful.
Really enjoyed the class and found the Excel and Tableau really useful in my internship. Lots of technical terms but felt they were useful for interviews. Professor is really easy to talk to and provides great career advice.
Manglani is much better than the other info tech professors since he actually teaches useful technical skills like SQL, Tableau, Excel, and more. His assessments on these skills aren't tough either, you'll thank yourself for boosting your resume with this class. He's friendly, grading is straightforward, and homework only graded on completion
so glad I took this class. The lectures, particularly Sql and Tableau are so relevant to my internship.
Really great professor, interesting lectures and actually useful topics. Hes also super focused on helping you with potential interview questions, which is really useful when looking for internships.
Professor Manglani is the best I've had at Stern so far. I really think everyone who gets the chance should take his class. Its relevant no matter what field you plan on going into.
So happy I took this class with Professor Manglani. I found the content to be really valuable for jobs and internships, specifically lectures on excel, SQL, and Tableau. The other material is also good to know in any situation. He's a really caring professor who's very easy to talk to! I would definitely recommend him.
Great class... I feel like I learned things I can actually apply at my internship. Professor Manglani has tons of industry experience and makes the lectures interesting. I really liked the Tableau and SQL workshops.
One of the most interesting and useful classes I took at Stern. He makes what wold otherwise seem like a dull topic exciting.
This digital marketing class was really useful and relevant. I liked how hands-on it was. We learned Google Analytics and I was able to get a certification while taking the class. Would definitely recommend this class. Lectures were great.
Professor Manglani is a very nice lecturer. He always posts lecture slides in advance so you can review and be prepared. Very friendly and approachable. Tests are mostly multiple choice questions but some of them are pretty tricky. You should definitely go through every lecture slide and memorize terminologies and concepts to do well in the tests.
I feel like I learned quite a bit in this class. The terms we learned and skills are very useful and relevant to work in other classes and outside of school. Prof Manglani is very caring and engaging.
Great class and prof. Felt like I learned really important information and skills. Grading was very clear. Lectures were interesting and entertaining... the prof uses videos and makes it more interactive.
Excellent teacher
Great class, learned really useful stuff. He made a boring subject fun, and I'm using the material in my internship. So glad I took this class.
Great Class. The material is really useful.
Really found this class useful and enjoyed the lectures. SQL part was really useful and I'm already using the Excel tricks we learned in my internship. Prof is nice and engaging, and available for office hours / advice if you need it.
Great class with really useful information. Prof Manglani is pretty enthusiastic and kinda funny. The cases are interesting and I won the Tableau contest and got extra points!
Highly recommend this class if you want to go into tech. He covers mandatory material in the textbook/syllabus but weaves in modern relative topics (cryptocurrency, big data, AI/ML etc). His SQL, Tableau, Excel workshops are SO useful. Participation, contribution to class, weigh more than MCQ exams which I rly appreciate because learning>exams
This professor has pretty text-heavy lectures. You will need to study all of his notes, as everything is fair game for the exam. There will be times where lectures are extremely boring; however, his class was very clear cut. Infotech will not be the most groundbreaking class you take, and this professor will not be the best, but no surprises.
Felt this was a useful class and the professor helped bring otherwise boring material somewhat to life with personal stories and enthusiasm. Really appreciated the lab portions on SQL and Tableau... those were taught very well.
Good class with very useful information. Professor was engaging and nice. Be sure to participate to get a good grade.
50% is tests. The other is participation/homework/the final presentation. He's really generous and accessible outside of class. Prof. Manglani gives back points for tests and gives bonus participation grades. I learned so much about websites, google analytics, social media marketing and more, one of the nicest people in NYU. He's awesome!
The course was very well run and Professor M. did a competent job a delivering the course material.
Professor Manglani was amazing. The course was engaging and feels like I gained a lot from it that I will be able to continue to use in the future in work!
Good materials and good class. Really enjoyed the lectures, especially the workshops. The curve is a bit tight... I felt like I was doing well, but so were many other students.
Really valuable class. I got my Google Analytics and Facebook Blueprint Certification thanks to this class and now have an internship in the field. One of the most useful classes I took at NYU. There isn't a lot of work, but the exams are hard, although they are curved generously.
Great professor. I currently have him and he is very understanding, and he wants his students to succeed and learn. He relays the information extremely well and you will learn a lot in his class.
Professor Manglani was simply amazing to have as a professor. He made complicated concepts easy to grasp. Participation does in fact matter (for a grade), so you cannot necessarily be a shy person when taking this class.
Great class. I learned quite a bit.
Great professor. Straightforward with what is required of you and is very helpful. You will learn in this class
One of Stern's best professors! I didn't think I'd like this class just because of the subject matter (and the fact that it was online), but I learned a lot because of how passionate he was when he lectured. Tests are super easy, just keep up with lectures and DO THE HOMEWORK.
Professor Manglani is a pretty solid choice for a lighter course like Tech-UB 1. He has good slides that are the main point of his lectures but he tries his best to give more information than what's on slides. He's not boring to listen to and a pretty easygoing guy
Very nice guy! As for infotech, the course is straightforward -- study from the slides and you'll ace the class. One individual presentation (2 mins) and a group final presentation (5 mins), an easy homework every week, and 1 midterm and a final. Almost entirely multiple choice. This is a good professor to take.
As a person, Prof. Manglani is a 5/5. However, group projects were graded decently harshly, and exams cover more material than any exams that I've had at Stern.
boring and useless class in general. exams are not conceptual at all; based purely on how much of the lectures slides you can memorize. two presentations, one indiv & one group. very basic coverage on tableau and SQL. participation matters but he's terrible at tracking it. attendance is mandatory. have to spend 30 dollars to purchase in-class cases
Attendance is mandatary and students can not be late for more than two or three minutes since he would draw a line on the attendance sheet to mark lateness. Provide no consideration for any mistake. Things taught in class are meaningless. He is not a good person. Do not take him. Run away. All my friends hate this professor.
Engaging and funny lecturer. Gave 4 tests throughout semester rather than exams, with fair grading and difficulty. Some homeworks took a decent chunk of time and were difficult, but he was available for questions. Attendance and participation are SUPER important, and he definitely is pretty harsh if you don't show up/participate.
Great all-around professor, encourages participation and goes over concepts in-depth. Just be prepared to do a lot of reading/memorization
The class was really useful and a I liked that things like attendance and participation count. I found the material very useful for interviews.
I just got my Google Analytics certificate thanks to this class. It's a really practical and useful class. The certificate helped me get my summer internship! This material seemed hard originally, but the professor makes it fun and easier to learn. He gives great examples in class.
Terrible grading
Info Tech with Professor Manglani was a great class. I was nervous about the class in the beginning of the semester, but he did a really good job of breaking down tough concepts. I appreciated that the lectures were recorded and that there was a textbook as well. The exams were fair.
This was one of the most useful classes I took at NYU. It was awesome how the professor covered newer topics like video marketing and text marketing. I was able to get both my Google Analytics and Meta certificates after this class, and feel like I can now get a digital marketing job more easily.
This class is amazing. While the SQL section was hard, the TA really helped me get more comfortable with it. I feel like I really learned a lot in a short amount of time, and the professor's lectures were really well structured and entertaining. You will not fall asleep.
A super useful and interesting class. The grading is very clear. The professor is nice and funny. Hoping I can get into his programming class but there's a waitlist :(
Good class and great professor.
The professor has some great examples and the material is useful and up to date. It is very useful in my work outside of school.
One of the best professors I've had at Stern. The lectures are really engaging and he's a nice guy.
He is awesome. You can actually learn a lot from this class. Unlike other classes in Stern like...Org-Com. He also dresses nice.
He is okay, kinda monotone. The exam is hard and the curve is bad. Too much things to mesmerize and a blot of detail. I really think it is not necessary. Also, a lot of trick questions on the exam. It should be open book. If you at really good at memorizing stuff, like you could memorize every single detail then take him. If not, avoid him.
A great professor who encouraged participation and was very knowledgeable about the industry. Enjoyed the class.
The slides were very helpful and had all the information needed to do well in this course. The cases are interesting. The professor was solid and I appreciate the professor asking for weekly feedback.
Too many unnecessary details to memorize in the exam. I like the workshop parts, but it is deemed unnecessary to have a closed-book exam that requires tons of memorization.
The epitome of an amazing professor. He has high expectations, but does everything so the students can achieve them. He is the most organized professor I have ever seen, open to feedback in person and with anonymous surveys. He is accessible, has good TAs, his homework is constructive and never busywork, and his tests are hard but fair.
I have him for Info Tech and the material we learned in class (being able to talk about various information systems) helped me get an internship. The lectures are fun and he's really nice and easy to talk to before or after class.
This class is hard but worth the effort. I can't believe how much Python I've learned already. It's so cool to create my own database as well! There is quite a bit of homework and tough exams, but I'm so glad I'm taking this class. It's programming after all.
Taking this class right now and the Tableau workshops are really useful. Can't believe how much we learned in so little time. A lot of the content is very useful. This is one of the best classes I've taken at Stern, and the professor's lectures are entertaining for a relatively boring topic.
Manglani is a great professor. Although he does talk quite fast, his lectures are very interesting, engaging, and informative. Your grade is split amongst a lot of different categories, which is also helpful. Tests are quick, but everyone does super well so the Stern curve is ROUGH for this course.
The professor is absolutely amazing and one of the best classes ever since I attended NYU, absolutely funny and caring, respect student a lot, and truly love the subject and industry. Homework is simple, yet the test is hard and require a lot of painful memorization. However, things I learned can be beneficial for a lifetime.
Unfair grader. I don't understand why his score is so high, but there is a lot of randomness when he gives "participation points" - some people don't answer a question but get a 7 out of 10, and some people answered five or six questions but only got 6 points. And he's arrogant at times - he'll give wrong answers on exams and refuse to change them.
Great prof who knew his material! Lectures are straight forward, and you should be good for exams as long as you are able to do the practice exercises. High recommend for programming
I didn't know any programming before taking this class and can't believe how much I learned in the semester. I'm now planning to major in data science after this class. The lectures and class exercises were very useful.
Got a B+ but absolutely wanna write a fair review here. Not a tough course, a lot of memorization required. His lecture is okay, but like other posts said participation score is very random. I answer questions in most class but got 6/10. FYI you should get 94+ to get an A. Take him if you can memorize everything & raise hand in every class.
Prof. Manglani is a wonderful professor, and I definitely enjoyed taking Info Tech with him. Some topics can get confusing, but he's great at explaining complex ideas. Feel free to ask questions and make sure to participate. He can talk a little fast and the exams require a lot of memorization, but otherwise, I had a great time in his class.
Really enjoying this class and the workshops. Very entertaining professor. Plays music, tells jokes but it does move fast so pay attention. Fall asleep and you'll fall behind.
Great class. Learned quite a bit.
The content of this class was very useful in my job. I was able to land a digital marketing internship because of the class. I really liked how relevant this class is to what goes on in the marketing world.
Professor Manglani made a relatively boring topic interesting and made the topics come to life with useful anecdotes and a playlist. The exams require some memorization but are straightforward. Participation really counts, and you even get some "bonus" points for participating a lot.
The material was very relevant and updated. I liked that the class focused on things like marketing on TikTok and YouTube, and it was set up very well. Really useful class and great professor.
A good professor that is kind of silly and funny, but one on one he seems less interested in you than how he behaves to the class as a whole. He teaches content in a clear way and honestly getting a good grade is easy if you pay attention in class and study, but that can be challenging because it's so easy in class to do other homework.
Useful class. Using Tableau at my internship.
Helpful class if you're going into marketing. Curve is generous and the professor really makes an effort to teach relevant topics.
This guy is so cool, take his class. Grading is fair and class is very useful. The teacher is very knowledgable and fun.
Professor Manglani was a joy to have for Info Tech. Really charismatic professor and the lectures were quite interesting. Tests were memorization heavy but as long as you put in the work to study for them you will do ok. Participation really matters in the class so make sure to speak at least once during every lecture.
Great teacher, everything is organized. Class is graded through four tests. Be sure to participate
Not sure why there are so many 5 ratings. He just reads off of his slides. Class is just memorizing overly complicated acronyms for processes that are quite simple. Attendance is mandatory and you have to participate in class. Midterm was multiple choice for all the slide content + written portion for SQL problems. Memorize everything and ur good.
This is such a fun class. Professor really cares and it is enjoyable. Love the Tableau workshops we are doing now.
I feel like this class really helps people who don't have a background in programming learn a lot. The class is fast-paced and has quite a bit of homework, but is very rewarding. The professor is really helpful and takes time to answer questions and address concerns. You'll learn so much in this class even if it is tough.
Info Tech with this professor is such a fun class. He's great about giving really vivid and personable xamples, and makes boring topics fun. The class does require some memorization, but I've had those come up in interviews and am so glad I learned them. I feel like it's a really valuable class as you learn very useful terms and skills.
Awesome class and professor. Learned so much.
Can't believe how much programming I learned, and SQL and data science too. Great class The professor explains everything very well and is accessible outside of class.
Love some of the explanations in class, and personal stories. Great class, highly recommend taking it with this professor.
The worst professor I have ever taken in Stern. Boring class. You cannot learn anything during this class. The exam is so detailed. Be prepared to remember every detail in the slide. The worst prof......
There is a lot of memorization, but the professor is great. His class is really hard to get in to, and I think it's because those people who like it, really like it. if you want a class where you don't have to show up or speak in class, don't take this class. if you plan to come to class and be engaged, and want to learn, he's good.
One of the best classes and professors at Stern
Lots to memorize but there's a study guide and practice questions to help. At least all the content on the exam is covered in lectures, unlike other classes. Extra points for participation and very clear grading criteria.
Good amount of work but learned so much. I can program now and create my own database!
Great class, but the curve was brutal. I scored a little less in the final as the content got really heavy. You need 96+ for an A and my 93 got me a B+. If you have more important classes during the semester that you'd rather focus on instead of learning every small detail in the lectures, don't take this class.
The course is insane on curve. Test focus on understanding and small details. Need memorize all the staff on 30+pages slide for more than 20 course. need to be participate for every course, doing really good in all presentations and exam to get a good grade. If u don't have time or fail to prepare one of them really well, u are done
Great class. If you raise your hand and study well for the tests, it's not that hard to do well. Lectures are fun and professor is entertaining.
Great class
Really nice guy and very accommodating to extenuating circumstances. Fair and transparent class policies.
He makes boring material interesting.
Best data science professor I've had. Learned so much.
Really accessible and undersatnding compared to many other professors. Great guy.
Workshop lectures are fun, and even the other lectures are interesting. Accessible through office hours.
Learned so much programming in this class. Do the homework and pay attention and you'll do well. Things are well explained and the examples are great. There's time to ask questions and you learn so much in the lecture itself. Quite a few tests but it's all worth it.
The lectures are really engaging. He's good about bringing in real world examples, and showing us examples instead of just lecturing. I also learned so much and was able to get my Google Analytics certificate because of this class and just landed a marketing internship because of it. Highly recommend this class.
Great class, especially the Tableau and SQL workshops. The other material can be a bit dry at times, but he really helps bring it to life with stories and examples. The exams are tough and do require some memorization, but nothing hits you by surprsie since there's a study guide, sample questions and expectations are clear.
Was a good lecturer and homework assignments are really east. That being said he could be difficult to work out scheduling complications yet which was frustrating because it impacted my final grade.
Lectures are good. There is not a lot of homework.
Study and you'll be fine. Class is easy to get a B+ in.
Enjoyed the class and material. The professor made the class engaging.
Got an internship because I learned Google Analytics in this class.
Useful information and great professor
Really appreciate that extra points are given for participation since I struggle memorizing stuff for exams
Great class. Learned quite a bit and useful material for interviews.
Really useful material that I use in my digital marketing internship. Like the short cases and all the examples, and style of the class.
Excellent professor. I didn't have a programming background and learned so much in this class. Lectures are clear and understandable. The HW can take a while but it helps you learn more thoroughly.
Good lecturer. Explains concepts well.
I picked up a lot of Python programming in a short amount of time. The class is well structured and the curve is generous. I appreciate the extra points for participation.
Hard class with tough homework, but he explained everything well and made learning Python fun. It was worth the effort. Didn't think I can program, but now I can.
I like this professor's way of teaching. It made it easier to learn a hard topic. He's a nice guy with a good sense of humor.
Great Professor! He really cares about your learning and is always willing to take time and help you understand concepts. Only issue is exams are quite easy and the curve is extremely high. 95 was an A- for my session.
Awesome class
Enjoyed this class and liked how he taught SQL. He made it easy to learn.
Thought this would be a dry and boring core class and just took it for the requirement, but it was much more enjoyable and valuable than I expected. He's also kinda funny, or at least won't put you to sleep.
cutoff for A- was a 93.5, has some elaborate participation guideline as well if you raise your hand maybe every other lecture you get deducted from it as well, lectures have a lot of memorization. His classes were fine but stingy on points for tests and projects. if you're a good student in general you probably wont worry.
Loved the class. The professor's structured and systematic approach made complex concepts easy to understand and enjoyable to learn. I especially valued how he connected theoretical knowledge to real-world applications, which significantly enhanced my understanding of IT in business contexts.
amazing lectures. Prof was always patient with our questions, and ymaterials were super clear. Really made coding feel easier and more approachable for me, and I'm confident the skills I've learned will be really useful in the future.
Super engaging from both an enjoyable and educational perspective, easy to engage. Looked forward to the class every morning.
Easy class to coast and get a B or B+, A / A- is harder due to Stern curve.
Very useful class, learned a lot of SQL and other cool stuff . Great professor.
Good class and fun prof
Absolutely amazing professor! Really makes IT concepts really easy to understand, and the class has a very clear structure. While Stern curve makes it hard to get an A-/A, if you put strong effort into the class and try your best, you will be fine.
Databases was a valuable class and he does a good job teaching the material. I like that we get to try the problems in class and you can ask him questions individually during class time while working on exercises.
Really appreciated how organized the professor was. It's the most organized class I've taken. Slides, study guide and practice exams are posted well ahead of time. The practice questions are pretty similar to the questions on the exam, so there are no surprises. Exams are tricky with multiple choice but fair. It was also enjoyable.
Prof Mangalani is great! highly recommend him. Attendance and Participation is part of your grade. There's an individual presentation and a group presentation and a midterm and final that are MCQ.
Interesting class with engaging lectures. The professor makes dry material enjoyable. Exams require preparation, but the study guide and practice questions help. Unstuck study was a useful tool for reviewing key concepts.
Great class, and amazing lectures. I like to talk in this class and it's nice to get extra points for it. Tests are tricky but fair. He pulls questions off of slides and HW so there are no surprises. There's a study guide and practice questions too. Just know you're stuff well and you won't get tripped up on the MC.
Worst Stern experience so far
Fun class with relevant material. Amazing professor.
Really explained SQL well. Using it in my internship and glad I took his class!
First class was so much fun. The professor is kinda funny and makes the material interesting. Can't wait for rest of it.
He was very understanding with an issue I was facing at the end of the semester and accommodated specific needs I had. I greatly appreciated it.
Can't believe I actually learned how to program in python in such a short time with literally no background whatsoever. He does a great job of teaching it and making it accessible and fun.
Fair exams. Slides and practice exams and problems are really useful for studying and doing well. Great class overall and you learn a lot.
I didn't know any programming coming into the class, but left feeling like I know it. He's a great professor and really cares about students learning. I really liked the in-class exercises, and he was easy to schedule office hours with and took the time to sit down with me to explain concepts I struggled with.
Professor Manglani's class was pretty clear and structured. Digital marketing was interesting, but it was moreso an online analytical course, rather than marketing. I feel like there is not enough time given on the exam, or that there are too many questions given for the allotted time because many students didn't finish.
Chill guy, like his class vibe. Curve sucks so grading is rly hard. 90 was a B+. Explains stuff well, records lectures, super available outside of class. Worked in corporate for a while. Knowledgable and super organized.
Small class where he goes around and is always willing to help you code, and has helped me outside of class in office hours. Will definitely take another class with him.
Great discussion class and you learn a lot of analytics. The class is what it states on the syllabus. The exams are tough but the curve is generous.
I just want him to teach me everything. He makes boring stuff fun.
Very energetic and engaging professor. I felt comfortable participating because he's very encouraging. Got my Google Analytics certifiate as well and am planning to use what I learned at work.
Liked this class way more than I thought. Learned a lot too.
Very nice, very energetic, cares a lot about the topic. The course load is extremely light as well, a couple exams and some homework assignments, but you really don't have to do much. The exams are basically just brunt force memorization of the content, so if you're good at that definitely take this course. Grading still stern curved so not free A
Absolutely fantastic professor. Extremely organized on Brightspace and provides detail feedback on the curve/ranges for certain letter grades for both exams. Participation is important, and if you contribute enough, you can get extra credit. Material has a lot of vocab, so Quizlets are key. No brainer to take if you raise your hand once per class.
He is such a fantastic professor. He is so knowledgable about the digital marketing field and really wants his students to leave his class with skills they can use in their real life. He is so nice and I would definitely recommend him.
Professor Manglani is an engaging and thoughtful instructor who genuinely cares about his students and their learning. His clear, well-spoken delivery and sense of humor make even challenging technical concepts approachable and enjoyable. I look forward to taking more classes with him in the future.
Wonderful professor who is very accessible and cares about his students. I learned so much in this half semester class. I'm looking forward to taking another class with him.
Can't believe how much Python I learned in just half a semester without knowing any of it. Amazing professor who teaches it well.
He is accessible outside of class if you reach out but because of the stern curve, i got curved down. Also this is supposed to be an intro 2.0 credit class but ppl take advantage and come in with advanced knowledge so its hard to outcompete if you are a real newbie like me.
Has sm good reviews idk why. Easy A IF you come into the class with prior knowledge. Majority of the class clearly has taken Python before so the curve sucks. He packs way too many topics into a lecture & he's not very clear when he speaks. For a 1.5 credit class you need to study a lot. Regret taking it bc its clearly not a class for beginners.
Fun class and really fair professor. Let's you use ChatGPT for HW, but if you use it, you won't do well on the exam. Amazing lectures, makes me want to go to class.
I came in not knowing any Python, and can't believe how much I learned in half a semester! He explains things really well. The last two assignments are hard, but they're fun and worth getting through.
Great guy--genuinely wants to see students succeed and do well in his classes.
this guy is THE goat the's so sweet, always accessible outside of class, and will help u out with ur grade as long as u show up and participate
Last exam required a good amount of memorization and knowing terms, but it's all fair as he teaches all of them well in class. I like the extra credit opportunity of the Tableau contest as that boosted my grade.
He was very fair and tried to make contents as relevant and useful as possible, even allocating certain classes to learn specific skills for recruiting such as Excel or Tableau. Homework is very easy, he is very lenient with the use of ChatGPT, and grading is heavily based on two exams that require a large amount of memorization.
He is the GOAT
