Great Professor. Basic english class. class is not hard and reinforces previous things learned. Papers can be rewritten for a better grade. And students still expected to perform their best.

This class is very remedial for a college course, but Makki is very good and knows his stuff. There's no reason why you shouldn't pass and the discussions in the class are very interesting and make the comp part more bearable.

Very nice guy, really funny, who doesn't like him?! Class based on a few quizzes and papers, but its really easy stuff that you have probably learned already. He does make the class fun!

Makki was a little wishy-washy for me. He is an okay grader, and he'll let you redo papers if you aren't satisfied with your grade.

If you complain about Makki, you have never had a hard teacher. his papers are easy, class is not bad. dont even read you'll get at least a B

By far the nicest teacher ever. dont listen to what everyone says they're just all haters. i've never met anyone more easy going then him for gods sake he lets you do your papers over to get one full letter grade higher. Easy and easy going just go to class and you'll definetly get an A.

Get on this teachers good side and he'll take it easy on your papers when he grades them. Laugh at his jokes that are not very funny and talk to him whenever you can. He makes you write like 5 essays during the semester and you can revise them when you get them back. The essays are short and easy. T

Mr.Makki is the best professor at UofM.He is the nicest guy and hes always cracking jokes in class.He is really easy to get along with, always lets u revise ur papers after you get them back. The lowest grade he will ever give out is a B and u get to revise it to get an A. I mean come on he rocks!

By far the best comp teacher at u of m. His class is a breeze and hes very nice and understanding. The class consisted of 4 papers and a final. You get to revise all your papers a grade higher. Take Professor Makki if you have a chance.

mr makki is by FAR the best comp teacher at uofm. there are quite a few papers in his class, but he always lets you redo them for a better grade. hes so nice, very helpful, and so funny! lots of group work & no one ever does the readings he assigned. all in all, great teacher!

He is SO easy. He lets you rewrite every essay for 1 whole letter grade higher. He tends to not let class out early, but he is really fun and easy to get along with. He grades fast and fair, and is not picky at all. He is so easy its funny, take this class for an easy A.

Class was very very easy, but professor was boring in class. Going to class was not important except that you lose part of your grade if you miss more than 3 days. Prof doesn't care if you are late though and is a very nice fellow.

Mr.Makki is an easy "A" professor. If you don't feel like trying to hard for comp 106, he's the one to take.

He's the perfect professor for the high school to college transition. Doesn't assign lots of reading and his papers are actually interesting to write.

He is very "high-schoolish." He gets mad if we leave to go the bathroom or take a phone call, and he's strict with attendance. But that was totally OK with me because he is SO easy. The essays are all very short and he lets you re-write for a grade higher. You just have to correct whatever he says to correct. It's an easy A.

Makki is a very cool professor. We read some pretty interesting articles. The class can be very boring at times because he'll lecture about writing techniques, which are pointless. But what's good is that when he hands you back a graded paper, you can revise it for a full letter grade higher, which is just correcting everything he marks down.

Mr. Makki is a sweetheart. He's super sweet and likes to see you actually understand what he teaches. We read articles in the book that actually make you think and are interesting. I highly recommend him for any comp or english class. I'm taking him for comp 106 also.

This man is the cutest thing ever. The class is ridiculously easy, and the lectures can sometimes be boring, but I really liked him. He lets you revise three papers, and he only assigned three papers. Attendance is required, and he doesn't like when people carry side conversations in class. Easy going and friendly! I highly reccomend him!

Very easy class if you do what Makki says. The grading is not very strict and you can revise your first three papers for a whole grade. He is the easiest way out of Comp requirement

Easiest class ever. Show up, do all homework assignments, spend some time on papers, and be creative, and you will get a good grade. Longman's Writer's Companion is unnecessary..so don't get it. I highly recommend Professor Makki if you are looking for a good grade and a good blowoff.

Don't take him because people say he is easy, take him because he is very helpful, kind, funny and most importantly you will walk away learning more then you expected. He is a phenomenal teacher, and an even better person. I have had him for 105 and 106 and he is simply the best.

Great Professor. Very straightforward with requirements, lets you rewrite first 3 papers for a grade higher. Material gets very boring but he's a funny guy and very helpful.

Simply the best. Makes class extremly fun. You'll always leave with a smile. As for the work; just put in some time. Its not very demanding but it does require you to work a bit when necessary. Highly Recomended!

This was the best comp class I have ever taken. His assignments are very reasonable, I wrote all four of my required papers 2 hours before class, got an 'A' on every one. Class participation is a must, usually its reading out of the textbook or answering simple questions about the reading. Show up to class, do your work and you will be all set.

Makki is the man. Great class that will keep you interested. He has a great personality but will make you write a few papers. Just show up, be friendly with him and you should get a good grade and something from the class.

Awesome professor. Teaches you what you need to know to write a research paper. First two (out of 4) papers you can revise, and I highly recommend doing this. He almost always gives you a full letter grade higher. Research paper was the worst, but the rest of the class is a breeze!

He was a nice professor, and he knew his material. He allows students to revise first 2 papers for a better grade. He does want students to speak up in class, and that does effect participation points. Good essay topics, enjoyed the class overall.

Great professor. Only down side is that class is early. Tardies 3 count as 1 absence and you're only allowed 3 absences total all semester. I feel like he was trying to be a tough grader. I think I deserved a better grade, because I usually do very well. ...whatever. take him.

Professor Makki is the man. He is a very cool teacher. He is always joking around and having fun with the class. Very lenient if you turn an assignment in late or if you mess up on a paper he gives you a chance to get some points back. This is the best teacher at UMD. I will be taking this teacher for every comp class I have throughout college.

Extremely easy course. Gives straight forward directions. Only gives a handful of assignments, which he lets you revise for better grades. Attendance is necessary though, after so many absences you will fail the course. Other than that, great class.

This class is good to take if you want to lighten you schedule because it is not demanding at all. Although, this class is super easy, you need to PARTICIPATE. Also, this professor does not believe in A's, for the most part the best is an A- because he knows his class is easy. He HAS to like you, and know your "serious" about his class. A good man
