The teacher is very nice and lenient. He doesnt require you to turn in homework. He's got a strong accent though, but he knows what he's teaching.
Khawaja's got an accent and he's dull.
He is a very nice man, and knows what he is teaching. He grades easily on his tests, he gives lot of partial points even if it is the wrong answer. The only negative thing about him that you can not understand what he is saying.
Run for your life! He knows the material...but the way he teaches is very confusing and will mess your mind. He explains the problem in 3 different formats at once. The worse teacher I ever had. A good man...but a bad teacher! Take someone else!Trust-me!
Horrible, horrible experience...
Without a doubt the worst professor I have ever experienced. Also, he is nearly impossible to understand due to his middle eastern accent. Bad teacher and really difficult exams.
ahh! hated going to his class! I didn't understand him and his lectures. he grades on a curve, dont know if he changed that. He's really HARD to understand so don't take him.
Doesnt explain very clearly. Hard to understand b/c he has a very thick accent
He doesn't know how to explain the topics, although he does know them well. He explains one thing 5 different ways and smiles when you don't understand. Not very helpful at all. Hard to understand. Booooooooring time in class.
I don't find his accent too hard to understand, he's just soft-spoken, so if you have chattery sorority girls in your class, good luck hearing him. He knows the material but doesn't always answer questions well.
he knows what he's talking about... good teacher cuz he'll try to explain til u understand. nice guy
I could never understand him! Oh my gosh he never explained the material well he just expected you to know it. Super boring class!Don't take it with him!!!
DO NOT....I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!IT is a for sue FAIL if you do not like math or understand it well. You don't want to end up taking it over like me.
I had him for statistics and I was afraid that the information would be too much or too hard...haha ya RIGHT, I got a B in the class (and im no math fan)! It's easy, especially the way he explains, you get used to the accent. By the way, he lets us use our notes on all the midterms!Hes nice,be nice.
BY FAR THE WORST PROFESSOR AT CSUN. ACCENT IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM. VERY DISORGANIZED, OFTEN LOST IN HIS OWN LESSONS, DISORIENTED AND DOES NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS WELL. WHEN ASKED A QUESTION, HE WILL GIVE 5 DIFFERENT WAYS TO SOLVE A PROBLEM, BUT YOU STILL WILL NOT UNDERSTAND IT. KEEP AWAY FROM HIM.
STAY AWAY, I REPEAT STAY AWAY. First of all he doesns't cleary cover the information that is going to be on the TESTS OR QIUZES. He expects you to know material that someone who is not very strong in math to know. Also has a thick accent, makes the class boring.
You NEED to study for this class if you are shaky in math like I am. The concepts are not too difficult but you have to be aggressive about asking questions because chances are you WILL miss something very important. Not an exciting class but I was able to pull a C out of the whole thing.
It's not that he's a bad teacher, it's just that everyone makes a big deal about "statistics" period. It's really not that hard and will take some time to figure out after you leave his lectures (which are very boring). As long as you copy down and understand all the examples he gives you, you should be fine.

he's a really cool teacher. just understand his lectures and you'll be fine
easy class to pass! i am horrible at math and only passed one of his tests and was able to pull off a C! really nice guy, he gives no HW and lets u use notes on the tests.
its a hard class but he is very helpful. you would need to study hard.
As a person, he's a great guy. As a Professor OMG! NO NO NO NO NO. I wish I would have remembered this website to check it out before I took his class! It would have definately have saved me from a horrible experience. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take this professor if you WANT to understand the concept.
As long as you sit in the front, copy all the examples, listen carefully to the lecture and ask questions, you will get a B at least. Also, you don't need to buy the book (save you $$) the tests come DIRECTLY from his lecture, and he lets you use notes to take the test. Nice man, drops the lowest test, and gives final class grade on a curve.
He's very helpful and not hard. His tests are base on his lecture. Take good notes and you'll be fine.
Huge curve. Sit in front and take good notes. He is willing to help, very patient. Go to his office hours for help! If you miss any classes you will fall behind. Nice Guy!
Very quiet man with an accent. If your up front maybe you have a chance. If your weak in math find another section/professor. that way you won't suffer and be tramatized into the khawajafafanana coma
I think people just make a big deal out of Stats and people are making excuses because of his accent. He isnt bad of a teacher...he is very helpful. If you have questions, ASK! It was only me and 2 other girls who ASKED questions in his class and we were the FEW who passed! I say take him. His tests are easy because he writes them and he goes over whats going to be on the test. There's also a curve.

Very smart man, explains well, well organized, however, not enough office hours available for assistance

i would never suggest this teacher to anyone! unless you get help outside of class, he is very unclear!

I had this teacher 2 years ago, and you what he is not that bad. We can't blame if he has bad accent. But as a processor he knows what he is teaching. You just have to put time and study for his test.Just review his notes, keep doing the problems, and you should be fine.If you don't understand you could always go to him he will help you, so take him.
He is really nice person, but his accent makes hard to understand material. You just got to study by yourself. he won't help you much but will confuse your head like when ferrari enzo rev at 7800 rpm.
WORST teacher ever! I had to teach myself because he just doesn't explain clearly! Please do not take...you are better off waiting for a different teacher. Dont take even if he is your last option! U'll regret it. Unless ur a math genious and u dont need a prof. to teach u anything! AVOID
oh em gee. this was by far the most frustrating class ive ever taken. no one is passing, and he doesnt do the problems that he gives us, so we could be doing them completely incorrectly, and well NEVER know!!!! plus, his accent is extremely difficult to decode. i actually put effort into this class and its still a hopeless case. good luck...
At first his accent is hard to understand. Sit up front and TAKE NOTES. ask questions and he will help you until you understand. doesn't use the textbook, save your $$. very nice man, only 4 tests, drops lowest score and grades on a curve, all tests are based on lectures, offers some extra credit!!, TAKE NOTES and PAY ATTENTION
He is a really nice guy, and wants you to pass. But he is a little confusing. You need to always be in class and pay attention...and sit close to him so you can understand his accent....
Your grade depends on 4 tests - the first three are worth twenty points each and the last one is worth forty (and it's also cumulative). He gives no homework. He might give an extra credit if the class asks for it. He also has a hard to understand accent.
he's a very nice man who wants you to pass. Very understandable and helpful. The only problem is his accent. You sometimes have a hard time understanding what he's trying to teach you. I think he knows it though, cause his grading rubric is easy. 4 tests, 1 final. And to him a 65% is a C.

I really don't like this class at all. I have to drag myself to class because I hate going to it...His accent is hard to understand and he never explains anything in a understanding way...He also looks at the same person to have all of the answers.. DO NOT have this professor
ok he has an accent, but its not that bad. Just go to class, ask question, he is very willing to help, all you have to do is ask! If you don't understand, he will take the time to explain. Not hard to pass
He has accent. Yet, he lectures very clearly. You just need to come to class and I'll guarantee a A or B. No need to purchase a book.
I almost fell asleep every day. PLease dont take this guys class. I barely passed and its cuz i knew the material from highschool. You will learn nothing except teaching yourself how to wake up right when class ends.
to pretty much sum up what the other guys are saying...hee is very hard to comprehend. he is a really sweet old man and loves to teach. make sure you sit up in front...or you will fail. he will pay attention to you if you are involved by asking questions.
He does good examples from the textbook. No homework required to turn in. No class participation required. Class can be boring. Math department offers tutoring, and I highly recommend it for math 102. He sees the grade average of the class, then starts to curve if everyone is doing poorly. He may bump up grades depending on the class. Need a C
He is a terrible professor! You can't understand half of what he says and the quizzes and tests he gives you are completely the opposite of what he teaches in class. The lab tutors are much more helpful than the actual professor!
EXCELLANT AND SWEET GUY!!!HUGHLY RECCOMMEND!!
TAKE HIS CLASS!!! The highest score on any of my test was a 72. He drops your lowest test grade and curves the class. I got a B when i should have got a D. You can use notes on your tests!!!!!
I loved this professor! He is so sweet and loves to teach math. I think it is unfair that everyone gives him a bad rating just because of his accent. It does take some getting used to, but it is really no excuse to do poorly in his class. He gives tons of examples and will repeat something as many times as it takes the class to understand.
This professor is very nice. Really helpful when you ask for help. His test are really easy because you can use notes even in the final. Curves tests at the end of the semester and drops the lowest score. If you are good in math then don't worry you will do good; if you're not then you need tutoring...sseriously. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!
he is extremely helpful. go to the class everyday, pay attention and take good notes you'll get A. sit at the front and don't need the textbook if you are a good note taker.
great teacher! sweet and helpful guy. Trust me this is as helpful and easy as math 103 teachers get. Highly recommended. Take him and dont get lazy on the hw. That 10% really creeps up on ur final grade.
This teacher moves way too fast through problems and doesn't explain thoroughly. You cannot really understand what he's saying because he barely speaks up and has a slight accent. His class has a high failure rate so avoid his class at all costs!
TRY! A little hard to get used to his accent. 3 exams and final. USE YOUTUBE TO STUDY! It makes its SO MUCH EASIER! Curves. Drops lowest exam grade. HW online. ASK FOR PRACTICE EXAMS! He wont give them to the class unless you ask! VERY NICE GUY!
I seriously don't know how I got a B in his class. I barely learned anything from him. His tests were like WTF?! Hes an easy grader, drops the lowest grade, can use calculator on final. He wants you to learn but he mumbles and hardly speaks up. Take him if you want to depend on learning from the SI tutors. I don't recommend him at all.
Had him for Fall 2009. He was very smart in the subject, but his accent made it very difficult for me to understand. Sometimes lost me on how he get the answer. Will go over hw in class, be prepared to ask questions. Exams were a surprise compared to review sheet. Drops lowest test score and curves. Take at own risk.. (MOST of class failed!)
I wasn't able to understand him well not just because of his thick accent but also because he is soft-spoken. He's ready to help if you really take the time out aside from class. He would be a better private tutor rather than a professor. Class is not hard (homework = just do it & tests = easy) He's easy but you don't learn much.
He mumbles so sit in the front and pay attention! He knows his stuff, but isn't so great at explaining (accent doesn't help). If you make the effort, class should be pretty easy! Not much homework, tests based on what he teaches.
Very chill professor, will always answer your questions. But his lectures are terrible. His tests include sections that were not discussed in class. Homework is not turned in or graded. Although a Supplemental Instruction (SI)is required. Attend those! They help you more than his lectures do.
the subject is already hard enought to understand & his accent doesnt help. just ask questions & he will clarify it to you. We took 3 test(1/3 he drops the lowest one),a cumulative final &just 2 hw. study hard & do the hw & go over examples he gives.
DO NOT TAKE. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE. He looks like the reincarnation of Ghandi, and does not understand much english at all. Quizzes are VERY hard and he tries to trick you on most questions.
Mumbles as he lectures, so definitely sit in front. Does not take roll or grades hw assignments. Tests contain material not discussed in previous chapters, but does curve scores. Difficult to understand him sometimes, but will gladly repeat himself. Very nice and will be available after class. Overall, does not teach well. Take Siderow instead.
He has an accent but it's not that hard to understand. You do not have to buy the book for his class. Stats is a difficult subject, but I didn't think this class was that bad. There are 3 midterms, you get to drop the lowest grade. There is a cumulative final. You get to use notes for all his exams. He curves his grading scale, an 85 equals an A.
He's isn't a horrible teacher but he's not the best. He gets confused by what he is teaching sometimes especially when you try to correct him. It would be best to choose another professor but if you generally know the math for the class and aren't struggling with math, then it is a really easy class.
WOw he is the worse math teacher i ever had!!! my high school teacher told me: "me thankful that you understand your math teacher, in college u wont understand his/her english" he doesnt even know how to teach teh class and he doesnt give much hw to learn, also we cant have any extra work for extra credit. BS!!!
his accent is strong! he assumes you know the subject already. he is willing to help if questions are asked but if no one says nething he will cont. buy both books. GO TO TUTORING N HIS OFFICE HRS AND PRAY. his class is frustrating... ASK QUESTIONS WHEN U DONT UNDERSTAND!!!!
Stats is not an easy subject and his accent does not help. He tries his best to explain it but his wording sometimes confuses you. He begins with simple examples then uses harder ones. Overall he is an ok teacher and is a very nice man. No book needed!!!
If you can deal with accents, you have to take him. No textbook needed, no attendance. He explains everything and will go over it if you ask. Drops one of 3 test grades. Curves like crazy. Does not watch you during an exam. Sit in the front and take notes and this class will be easy to pass. Only like 2 homework assignments.
He is a confused professor. He basically shows up late to class (if you have him in the morning) and he scribbles easy examples on the board and gives you hard and tricky questions that he NEVER reviewed in class. His wording is very confusing. I would not take him!
Althought he is very kind, he is not a very good instructor. You will need your book alot because that is the only way you will learn anything. He tells you not to skip steps but does so in class. Avoid if possible! Accepts questions but doesn't give very good answers.
He does not explain very well. he is neve in his office hours even after you have made an appointment with him. very unorganized. his test are hand written and almost neve about what the class lecture was about. never used the textbook either.
Don't take. DO NOT TAKE!! Very thick accent and talks very low it was almost impossible to hear. Skips a lot of steps in class when demonstrating problem solving and does not correspond with the book. Absolutely horrible. He also shows a what-to-do vs. what-not-to-do but it's in the same board and the numbers get jumbled up. Stay faaaar away.
AVOID AT ALL COST! he doesnt do his job well. when you tell him that you will see him at his office hours hes never there, doesnt care at all and is very hard to understand.
This was a pretty bad experience. He is disorganized, has an accent, and speaks softly on top of that. He will have students in the class work out the formulas, and if they give him the wrong answers, he will write them down, without correcting them. You can imagine this leads to confusion. Don't take this course, he is bad at explaining.
This professor is so old has such a thick accent that he is unable to properly teach. He about keeled over in class one day after having a horrible cough for a couple weeks. I tried going to his office hours for help but he totally lost track of what he was even talking about. It is sad but his job has run dry. I would avoid at all costs.
This guy is a really good professor, may be a little fast but will explain things if needed keep in mind his classes are only in 50 minute sessions. I don't even have this prof. yet he still helped me out, I highly recommend him.
While he may have been a nice professor, it is hard understanding him. I did not do well in his class at all. Im not going to blame it all on him, but he is not that great at going through the material clearly.
has an accent, not very clear when he explains lectures. our class was about 2 weeks behind all of the other professors. hand writes his own test so they're completely different from the homework's that the math department assigns. he never uses the textbook and makes up his own examples.
He is easily the worst teacher I have ever had. He shows up late, goes through the material extremely fast, and does not explain what he is doing as he is showing examples. I ended up learning more from the lab than from this class. If you are not so good at math like I am, don't take him, you'll be very sorry.
His class is pretty easy to get an A in. If you just show up to class and understand the lecture you should be fine. It takes 2-3 weeks to get use to his accent but after that you should be on your way to earning a good grade. 3 tests and maybe 1 or 2 mandatory HW assignments
Very confusing and hard to understand. He writes his own tests and grades hard. He expects everyone to know Statistics by heart. He doesn't how up on his "Office Hours" at all which made me feel some type of way.
Very helpful professor, easy to pass, a bit hard to understand, but if you sit in the front you'll understand him. Allows notes & calculator during tests, allows a formula sheet during final and let's you get up to ask him questions during each test, including the final. He drops the lowest test score, so overall his class is easy.
Yes, it was my first semester at CSUN. I received A's and B's in all my other course work, but this class was extremely difficult. He is never on time to our sessions especially on test days. He jumps around the book and avoids answering the more rigorous questions that will be on our tests and final. Doesn't prepare you for Final.
The most Useless teacher around. He accomplished teaching us absolutely nothing in the class, and smiling his way through our classes. I managed learning a lot more from khan academy than by taking his class. ontop of that the homework was done online and was worth 10% of your grade. DO NOT take this teacher. You can not hear him at all.
Stats is a difficult class to begin with! Unless you're a math major DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT take stats with this professor.
It is hard to understand him, he is too old to still be teaching. And the questions he teaches in. Class are way easier than the ones on the test making got hard to pass. If you have a choice don't take him
do not take his class unless you want to fail, seriously.
Very difficult to understand at first but gets a little easier as you get used to it. His teaching methods are very odd and hard to follow. He does not write his questions on the board causing mass confusion to what he is talking about. Any questions that get asked are answered only to the one specific person that asked the question. DO NOT TAKE!!
if you take out the time and study every night for his class then you may pass with a C as what i did. he is a very nice guy but the tests and grading is extremely tough. be prepared. get the highest test scores as possible in order to pass the class. visit his office hours and sit in the front.
Worst professor known to man kind. Unless you already know the material and need to take the class for credit purposes, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Does not use book or any kind of hard copies you can actually learn from. If you ask a question, he will respond to you with something that had nothing to do with the question. Total disaster. Waste of time.
At first Mr. Khawaja is that teacher who smiles but really does not care. After you get to know him, however, you see he really wants the best for his students and provides a tough grading system to prepare them for the real world. Get to know him, talk to him, and above all remember he wants you to succeed.
NOPE. Do not take this class for Math 102. He is a very sweet guy but terrible professor. Has an accent. The whole class failed his class except for 2 people who barely got a C.
This professor is horrible. He didn't assign homework or require a text book. His notes where the only thing to study off. His lectures are so confusing and he's all over the place when he talks. Most of the class wasn't passing. The ones who were passing it where seeing tutors weekly and helping students more than the professor. DO NOT TAKE.
The class itself isn't difficult but the professor makes it hard to enjoy math. He has a thick accent so it's hard to understand him and he's never on time for his lectures. The exams are straight forward and all the homework are online.
This professor will help you if you want to help yourself. His accent is extremely thick and he speaks with a quiet tone, but utilize his office hours. Ask him for help and he WILL help you. Sit in the front and pay attention and it'll be an easy class to follow. Hes an awesome guy overall.
Do not take this class. If you are an accounting major you need to know business calc and he does not teach it.
Good at calculus you have a higher chance of passing. There are only 3 tests and a final. Don't forget the XYZ hw. Sit in the front! He talks very softly & has difficulty explaining. You don't pass the final you automatically fail. I managed to pass the class with a "C" not knowing any calculus & forgetting pre-calc bc I took stats last year.
Professor Khawaja is a great person but in total honesty i wouldn't recommend his class. He has a thick accent and doesn't really know how to explain. I personally like math but his class is boring and repetitive. Tests are nothing like the HW and sometimes he includes material that hasn't been covered in class yet.
Professor Khawaja is the first professor in my entire years of being in school from the day I started kindergarten to ever fail me and I am an A- or B+ student average without a problem. Very thick accent, so unclear, in one of my test he put random stuff because he forgot what he taught us. Everyone in class would go against him. Do not choose him
RUN AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HARD GRADER . I WISH HIS EXAMS WERE MULTIPLE CHOICE . IT IS HARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His lectures are terrible!!! It is really hard to understand him. He gives problems on the tests that he never even covered in class!!! Our whole class was having a problem with him!!! His homework material is almost never on the tests!!! Having a professor like this is bad for the school's reputation!!!
I don't know why this professor had the worst reviews! I took him for Spring 2016 and he's truly the best professor I've ever had. Yes, he has an accent but he truly cares about his students and does practice problems with the class as a whole during session. Also taking the lab with this class helped as the SI leaders went over material too.
He did have an accent but he was a good professor overall. Really cared for my class and tried his best to make sure you understood the lessons. Curves tests fairly and counts hw for quite a bit.
He is very soft spoken with a thick accent. The class is supposed to use the math note book given by the school, but he doesn't even go off of the book. Makes up math questions and his tests are not based on the book. Helps if you go to class and ask questions. He helps if you ask and explains it. If you can take a different professor.
He is really nice and really wants to give the students a lot of information. The problem is he jumps around the book and it's hard to keep up. It's not hard but he sometimes will test you on something he did not teach. But he really is nice and tries his hardest to help you pass.
He is nice but he has no structure when he is teaching. He does problems on the board without giving you information from his sheet. He does it expecting you to understand . He teaches all over the place and puts stuff on the test that he has never taught. Everything we did on the homework was different from his tests. Find a different teacher.
He was a nice guy, but I found myself overwhelmed by the class. He doesn't have much linear structure to his lessons, and doesn't teach out of the textbook he assigns. Lots of homework with very strict deadlines. It's important to ask him for help if you need assistance, and he legit cares about his students.
Just don't. If you're looking for a good math teacher, please don't choose him. He knows the info, but he can't teach it well. His soft/low voice and accent make it hard to understand him and if you ask a question, he literally makes you solve it in your own. Save yourselves and don't choose him, please. You will not learn nothing.
The professor knows his subject matter very well but he's not so great at explaining it and it is difficult to follow along because he doesn't have a clear guide to each section His accent makes it very difficult to understand what he is saying. Attendance isn't mandatory. Only take his class if you are very good at math and don't need much help.
Hard but possible. I wouldn't take him. His lectures are nothing similar to the homework. His test are similar to the lectures to a extent. I found myself in the tutoring room because his lectures were confusing.
You do NOT want this professor. He is about 80 years old and has a hard accent and has a very soft voice. His class uses XYZ homework and Aleks which is 70$ together and you must buy a 35$ workbook. His teaching style is not great at all. He doesn't really know how to explain the material well. But, the tests are quite easy and the online HW is too
DO NOT take this professor. He has an accent and cannot teach very well.
This professor can not teach at all. Forget about his accent, I know many professors with accents that are 100x more superior than this guy at teaching. He cant cover anything clearly. Skips lots of examples because he thinks that with one example you're all set and ready to test. Not organized at all. THE worst professor by far.
This professor is a genuine and very nice man, but he should retire already. His accent is too much to understand and he talks very quietly. He skips problems and steps and assumes that we can understand. And my biggest pet peeve, he stands in front of his writing so you can't even follow when he's solving a problem, you have to wait until he move
Very nice, knowledgeable & helpfull. If you hate math/independent study: just don't. Tips: Review workbook/do homework b4 lecture; go to Tutoring; DO ALL HOMEWORK! VERY tough grader but helps with final (strict dept grading). overall he's not bad. Dont zoneout on instagram during lectures! if u do don't expect good grades. studyhard itpaysoff
Professor is very soft spoken, writes small, and expects students to know what he is teaching.
Good professor and respectful, but is hard to understand due to his accent. Also hard to understand because he did not explain question well or give good notes that I can go back and study. I had to go to the tutoring center to get help after class because I would not understand.
Really hard to understand. He speaks sort of softly and is very unorganized. Im sure if you ask more questions, he'll help out more but get the class with a lab or go to tutoring for sure. Do not be on your phone too long during class because you will not understand the board when you look back up at it.
Do not take his class. Worst professor ever.
