Professor Rattan is my idol when it comes to rapping. She raps a lot and listens to sean kingston and talks about stunna shades. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Psych of Prejudice--2 exams, both take home (maybe for future semesters, it's not take home anymore). Thank God they're take home--they're not easy. Interesting class w/ many random presentations, 2 writing assignments. Overall, with the take-home exams, it was easy. If it's in-class, it's tough.

Has an Indian accent that you will get used to. Very funny for a woman around her 50s to talk about MTV shows & slang talks. Very kind. Helpful to contact her if you need clarifications. Lectures are VERY boring, but can be interesting. Her tests are usually pairs or open book. 1 group presention, about 3 essays, and 3 chapters test.

Really a great teacher! She's enthusiastic and actually gets to know your name in a relatively big class. Fun and interesting and very sweet. However, not always clear about papers and need to keep questioning her to get an answer.

Professor Rattan is by far one of the most spunkyess teachers at SJSU. I'm Taking her MUSE class and she is constantly concerned with the kid missing. Dr. Neelam Rattan is a wonderful teacher!!! She is ever so sweet and LOVES all of her students. Be sure to go to class because she remembers your name and gives extra credit to students who attend class. She uses many examples to support ideas. 2 short papers + 2 tests + 1 Final= easy if you review notes. Gives very detailed study guides!!!

I loved her class I had her Spring 09 and she is the best. Quite possibly the best professor I have ever had. I needed a GE credit and took psych with one of the open courses, and she is just incredible. It was amazing, and I really can't think of any other professor on campus at this level. You will do slightly more work than other psych classes, but it really is worth it.

Dr. Rattan is hilarious! She is extremely entertaining and very fair in grading. Sometimes class can be useless though since she posts her slides online. I showed up maybe 50% of the time and got 100% participation so skip your days wisely. It's an easy A/B class. Take her!

The lectures are the entirety of the class, but boy are they good. Professor Rattan goes into detail on all the important topics and explains them in a way that everyone can understand. Not to mention how funny and interesting they are - she's the only professor I've seen to make an all-lecture class one you want to attend.

Dr. Rattan is one of the best professors at SJSU! She is so incredibly caring and treats her students with kindness and compassion. She gives hardly any homework and gives glorious lectures. 100000/10

Dr. Rattan is an awesome professor. Very caring and treats each student as if they are her child. She wants to know what is going on in your life and how she can help. Quiz answers are found through her lecture slides that she posts on Canvas. Few assignments, most are group projects. Really engaging and fun professor. AWESOME!

She is one of the best teachers hands down, she is someone that really cares for her students. She does give out homework and its not hard. If your late turning something in she'll accept it. She's great and I love her

Very funny and nice! Definitely going to miss her class. Her lectures are very information heavy, but the lectures are recorded and the slides are on canvas. Do the reading because it helps and you're quizzed on it. SI sessions are sometimes mandatory and count for participation.

Lots of chances for extra credit, super sweet and really cares about students, passionate about the subject, and very accommodating! The research paper you write is very straight forward and is a good step toward the advanced research methods.

The lecture slides are rather lengthy and boring. However, she does try her best to keep the class engaged. She takes attendance and there are in class activities for extra credits. Exams are not too difficult, open book, open notes, with study guides provided. There's one big paper at the end of the sem but she gives a lot of instruction for that.

She was so cool! She was one of my first professors and the class was super chill. She really cares about her students as well so if she notices you havent been attending class she will ask about it but in a nice way. Overall her class was very interesting!

She takes attendance at the end of each meeting, but it doesn't affect your grade. Highly recommend attending classes because there will be extra credit opportunities. Tbh I barely paid attention to class and I still passed with an A after reviewing the slides and reading the book before each test. Very simple and the tests follow the book.

She's a nice teacher. She does do lectures every class but attendance is not mandatory. We had to buy Revel online textbook to do HW. The class overall was very manageable. Not a heavy class. She is flexible on due dates. The tests were based on lecture/textbook but she gives study guides and you can pass that test with just that.

Dr. Rattan is absolutely AMAZING! She entered every class with a beautiful smile and a cute but corny joke. Every class, she goes over presentation slides and while the slides can be sometimes long, she tries her best to engage the class with stories and interactive discussions. 3 exams, all open note & 1 1,500 word research paper. Take her class!!

Professor Rattan is so funny and kind and all of her lectures are so interesting. There is little to no homework besides one group project, submitting video notes, attending 3 workshops (2 in class) and one paper. She is quick to make accommodations for anyone and always makes sure to do check in with every student at the beginning of every class.

She's one of my favorite professors ever hands down! She's very empathetic towards others, especially her students, & treats them w/ kindness & respect! She's very flexible and accommodating. There are very few group assignments within the class but they were easy and fun to learn. She gives extra credit for being in class (zoom). 110% recommend!

Dr. Rattan is so sweet! She's very humorous and always called us her "dearies". There were a lot of EC opportunities, even just for showing up to zooms! Very low-stress class and weekly homework consisted only of easy quizzes for each chapter. Exams are open-note and based on lecture notes, which are always posted on Canvas. Take her if you can!!!

Dr. Rattan is such a caring and amazing professor! She understands how difficult some students' classes are, so she makes her class very low-stress and always shows how much she cares for us. Her lectures are very interesting, and she conveys psychology concepts very well through stories and examples. Midterms and final are open note.

This teacher is one of the best teachers I have had in a long time. She is wonderful. She prefers it if you show up and engage with her. She speaks to you when you are missing assignments. She is literally fantastic. I recommend her every time. She does have a lot of papers but they're easy and she works with you on the length.

This class is great, and Professor Rattan is kind. There were a couple of assignments, one scholarly essay, and multiple-choice exams and quizzes. Remember that if you sign up for this course, you must complete the research requirement. Take her class!

Great Professor, cares about her students and getting to know them! Is willing to extend assigments for students if you just communicate/ask. Class is pretty easy and interesting topics, just pay attention to lectures and study the powerpoints/textbook. Open note quizzes/tests.

I'd take her again if given a chance! Her classes were pretty interesting, and she did her best to accommodate everyone in her class. Her exams are pretty straightforward, and she grades assignments fairly. If you are looking for a good elective class, her classes are the one!

She was so nice and really cares about her students and their well-being. She is very interactive with the class too and is very passionate about what she teaches and what we're learning. She will make u do a lot of group projects and a couple of group presentations. Sometimes you'll get away with not saying anything, but just be prepared.

I loved taking her class. She is very kind and understanding. She gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and is quick to respond to emails. I learned a lot in her class and the lectures were never boring. Note you do have to attend 2 SI sessions but they were extremely helpful for exam prep.

Took Rattan for PSYC 1 a few semesters ago and decided to take her for PSYC 191. Homework load for this class was honestly manageable, there were just times I struggled writing papers due to time crunches, as I had work for my major and Psychology is only my minor. All quizzes and exams are open note with no Lockdown. Take her!

Professor Rattan really cares about all of her students and checks up on everyone. Attend class! Quizzes every Sunday. She rambles a lot so be prepared for her stories. Participate! Attend S.I sessions! SIGN UP FOR STUDIES!! NO NOT WAIT TIL THE LAST MINUTE!!

THIS CLASS IS SO EASY. In class she gives lectures, and she is also always willing to help out her students when needed, as she would take lecture time to do that. I also love her overall caring personality to her students and her compassion to teach her students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Dr Rattan takes pride in caring for her students and diving deep into her lectures. You'll have easy assignments and research participation to do (two online and two in person). If you want a good and easy online class she's the one to take!!

LOVE HER!!Honestly for it being a zoom class she took a lot of her time focusing on us.Would fr remember students names n there were 100 students in the class. extra credit!!! We did have to use pearson for all assignments but it wasn't that difficult. We had one "big" essay but other than that its an easy A. Midterm/final online not on zoom tho

Had her for the first five-week summer session. One thing I liked about her for the summer class was that there weren't a lot of assignments since there were case studies, a TED talk video, 3 exams, and there was a research project that was due by the end of the term.

Professor Rattan is awesome! She really cares about her students and makes the class engaging. With easy assignments, extra credit, and helpful SI sessions, this is a great online class. unstuck study also helped with study prep.

Professor Rattan is a very easy and straightforward instructor. Her class is mostly based on reading modules with only a few assignments, and the workload is super manageable. Most weeks just involve going through the module and answering a small set of questions. There's only one main paper in the class.
