Hard to understand, will deviate from syllabus
she is the worse teacher i have ever had. i can't imagine she passes chemistry much less teaches it

She is very rude. She will totally ignore you when you ask a question. She only reads from the book when she lectures. You can't decipher her writing. You can't understand a word she says, not even after listening to her for a whole semester. If she is your only option for a teacher...wait until next semester.
Figured I'd ignore RYP and take her anyways since it was just math 70. Honestly i think she taught more incorrect math than correct. Does not know english or math.
This teacher is seriously the worst teacher I have ever seen in my life. She had to have gotten her degree over seas somewhere because she cannot ever speak english let alone do teach BASIC MATH! DO NOT TAKE
She is easy in that she only teaches from the book, so you can always teach yourself. She is hard to understand. she gets frustrated if smoeone does not understand a concept. I would take her only if you are a self learner. don't expect her to teach you completely.

Does not explain things when asked questions.
She never spoke clearly and if a question was asked of her, she would look confused and answer your question by posing another rhetorical question...She seemed to have no clue about the subject that she was supposed to be teaching...
She does have a thick accent, but once you get thru that she is very very easy. I didnt have to study once, and besides that she lets you grade your own tests. all other homework is just to keep you busy. easy A
I highly recommend for MATH 60. Very easy class. Great Lady!
she is a horrible teacher has no compassion for her students what so ever. she makes you feel really stupid if you ask her a question. and she acts like she does not know what she is doing. i do not recommend taking her at all
Very difficult to understand. Doesn't explain things clearly. Doesn't answer questions. Uses the attitude "I don't understand why you don't get this." Sometimes acts like you're not there. Got better instruction in SA then in class. Started tuning her out and saving questions for SA instructor.

Hard to Understand
This is the worst teacher I may have ever had. She was unclear with directions. She was flustered by questions, and very irritable. The class had to correct HER mistakes probably 30% of the time. Her class was a train wreck. We had SEVERAL students drop her class and add OTHER teachers within the first week! Avoid if at all possible.
Mrs. Suri is the worst chemistry I have EVER had in my life. She has a HEAVY indian accent which makes it difficult to undestand her. Its double work because youre trying to understand her and the material at the same time. Her lectures are a waste of time and her tests are ridiculous! SHe has no modivation for being a teacher.
she is rude, dumb founded, and the worst chemistry teacher in the world. I cant believe she is teaching college students, I honestly think that the only reason she has a job at AV is because of her husband. when you ask her a question or tell her to explain it again, she gives you a long hard stare with attitude. Shell say "why dont you understand?
Nice lady! Her accent is heavy, but if you LISTEN, you can understand. Lecture tests are multiple choice, she goes over what to study. Lab tests are short answer, pulled right from the lab quizzes/reports. Strict on attendance. Maybe if she got a little more respect, she would open up a bit. She did at the end of my class, after the jerks dropped.
Do not take her if you can help it. She is very hard to understand. She does not explain anything and you have to figure out how to do the lab by yourself. If you don't understand something, then forget about it. If you ask her to explain she will look at you like you are stupid. The same questions that are on the lab are on the test and quizes.
Though an easy class bad techer. doesn't seem to care about her students. and really no personality at all. if you can learn fine by yourself and are somewhat smart it's easy to learn the material. I got a B but the class really does suck and just no passion involved

Mrs Suri is a hard teacher, but if you respect her and pay attention she really isn't that bad. She gives a test every lab so make sure and study your labs from the week before and you'll do fine. Midterm was really easy. Not very helpful uneless you ask ?'s, but will help. I have Mr Hernandez for lec and her for lab and have an A in her lab now.
She is an awful teacher does not teach! She just reads off the book slides! If you can teach and understand yourself you will do ok! Confused? Don't ask questions she won't work them out and half the time doesn't even know what she is doing
I was nervous about having her because I read the comments on here first but with only 1 week left, I can say that not much written about her was true in my class. She made jokes, reminded us she was here to help and walked around during labs to assist. She does have an accent but it's pleasant; lab quizzes are easy if you do some review beforehand
Professor Suri has a very strong accent but you get used to it. The daily quizzes were easy IF you study.
HORRIBLE TEACHER. I passed with an A, because I taught myself. SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING COLLEGE STUDENTS.
If you have a bg in chem, this class will be easy. If not, then DO her online hw & the extra hw; she takes questions from there for the tests. For lab: STUDY the post questions from the ws, they always appear on the quiz. Her teaching isn't great but she's a good lady once you get to know her. She's harsh cuz she wants you to know the materials! gl
Worst teacher i ever had at AVC and I will never take her for any class in my life.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. She has a very strong accent so you have to either write notes or listen to what she is saying, you cant do both. The only way to pass her class is to study your labs,HW, and book questions. Thats where she gets her test questions.
She is not the best teacher that I have had but not the worst. She teaches the bare minimum to get students to pass so if science is your major I wouldnt recommend her. Over all she is plesant and. She always releases class early.
Her homework is very long takes hours to do and its all online. She doesn't help at all. Her lectures are all powerpont if you ask her a question she responds with why weren't tou paying attention. I don't recommend at all!!
Not the best teacher, her accent is easy to understand but she is not good at explaining the material, I had to learn everything myself. She tries but doesn't answer questions well. If you study hard her tests aren't difficult. If you want to learn on your own take her but take another professor if possible

She is a tough teacher who doesn't want to talk to her students. She reads power point slides and leave classroom. You're questions are not answered clearly. HW are difficult and long. Quizzes are not easy to answer. She loves to give tests because we'll leave early. I couldn't learn chemistry in her class. Find another instructor like Dr. Harper.
Ms. Suri is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She downgrades her students and laughs at you when you don't understand something. Her small assembly class is a joke. She assigns the easiest problems in the book, doesn't explain a thing, and plays games on her phone the entire class. Lectures are blindly read from PPT. I could go on forever.
Don't take! Wait to take CHEM next Semester.
She was not the most popular or the most helpful teacher, but I felt she had exceptionally good homework problems and test questions. If you studied and understood the homework, you were prepared for the tests. Many students expressed a dislike for her teaching style, but for myself, I really liked her class.
I would not recommend her to anyone. Probably the worst professor I've had at AVC, all of her lectures are straight off of powerpoint and there's no point in attending class because she is not helpful at all. Stay away from her if you can.
I had her for my first semester at AVC. She was just terrible; she didn't bother to help and she would give me attitude when I had a question about a specific problem. DO NOT take this class. I didn't check this website in the first place so it's my fault for randomly choosing teachers. If you are new, take this to heart and just take this advice.
Overall, Neena Suri was a great teacher. She does have an accent so sometimes it is hard to understand what she is trying to say. She comes off as grumpy, but she cares about her students. There is a lot of work and memorization of formulas.
Mrs. Suri is not as bad as they say. She is nice, but also very blunt, it's very funny actually. Her lectures are basically the book, which explains everything with examples. Most of the work is plugging numbers into a formula then converting units. I honestly don't know how people didn't pass. Just READ the book. You will understand. Good Luck!
Lectures are fast but go to SI to get one on one help! It was very hard for me cause I didn't take any college math. If you talk to her and be honest she'll slow down. She's not a babysitter. Don't be shy or you'll get left behind! I worked my butt off but I will take her again. Gave extra credit at the end!
Get to class on time, be prepared to work. Extra studying required, all lab tests are fill in the blank. The information she gives you will be on the test. Mrs. Suri is caring in her own way, and she does want her students to pass, if you are a chemistry major she is the teacher to take.
Prof Suri is one of the best teacher I have. She explain very well. We are very comfortable with her notes. Some students just studies her notes. She does chemistry problems on board. At end she give very good project for extra credit project. That help for final.
She literally reads everything from slides that the school gave her while shes sitting on her chair at the podium. She also goes through them so fast that i had to take pictures of the slides and write them when I got home, but here's the kicker, i got kicked out once for doing it and arguing that i had to in order to have the notes. Shes terrible.
She lets you grade your own labs and quizzes in the labs but is hard to understand. She reads off PowerPoints and goes pretty fast. Shes pretty impatient and will deduct points for small things like forgetting to capitalize a letter. Shes pretty nosy as well. She asked me personal questions and kind of made a face on the answers I gave her.
She does not teach! she does not help! she doesn't answer questions correctly! she is very impatient if you do not understand! You can tell she doesn't want to be there! she tells u to ask for help from classmates and not her! book and code mandatory, attendance mandatory, no study guide she said learn and memorize EVERYTHING
Doesnt actually teach, just reads off the PowerPoint. Cant ask her questions because she tells you to just practice at home. You also cant email her asking her questions, because she doesnt use her email. She sort of expects you to know how to do everything and doesnt provide help for those who dont understand.
This class was tough! If you don't study you will not pass. Use the practice questions from SA to study how to complete the test. She gave one extra credit assignment and curves the test score. I will say it again, you need to study!
Worst teacher I have ever had. She is very rude and condescending towards her students. Does not teach anything & expects you to know how to do all the work & would get mad if someone had a question. Gives no study guides & does not go over quizzes. For your own sake & GPA, do not take this class unless you want to teach yourself & cry every night.
This class was tough! Be prepared to teach yourself every chapter on your own time. That was the toughest part. Professor reads off her slides for "lecture" and expects you to know everything. She seems to get frustrated when students need help and don't understand. No study guides or anything for exams.

God forbid you ask a question because if you do be prepared to be belittled and never get an answer to the question. Class content isn't hard; however, she was rude and condescending. She would get mad if people asked for more examples of a specific type of question Just save yourself and don't do it.
The only advice I can give you is DON'T TAKE HER!!! She doesn't elaborate on anything when explaining. Don't ask questions. She doesn't leave her seat. Her "Small Assembly" is more like do 3 questions on your own. Here are the answers. Now go home. I honestly do not know how she is allowed to teach. JUST DON'T TAKE HER.
I took her over the summer and just don't do it. So many problems In class and arguments. She was rude and super insulting. I didn't have conflict with her since I didn't talk in her class, but it wasn't until the students made a chat and helped each other we got things done. If you take her, make a gc with your classmates. Your gonna need it
Tests and quizzes are done on our phones. Her lectures are easy to follow, but she doesn't give many examples or explain them very well. As long as you pay attention and make sure you review the theories and formulas before tests, you will do good in this class.
Prof. Suri will answer your questions but answers it with attitude. Her SA sessions are useless as you sit answering questions while she plays around on her phone. Long lecture and hard tests. Better off with any other professor except this one. You'll learn more from reading the book on your own time than her lectures. Don't pick her class.
This is my first semester taking Chem101 and Prof. Suri treated her students as if they were in Chem 120. She does little to NO explaining, examples, or demonstration. She does not leave her seat, she just reads the slides off a PowerPoint. We are currently on Chapter 7 and I have yet to learn anything from her class. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
I got an A+ 'cause I was self-studying. All she did in class was to pull up her PPT then read what was written but didn't explain a thing. We've always been confused at class. She doesn't answer our questions straight and again proceeds to her power-point. I mean yea, she's good and approachable too but never will I take her class again.
Absolutely awful. She is extremely abrasive and acts as if she doesn't even want to be there. She didn't explain anything in lab and we were all left very confused. She is extremely rude and will not really work with you. If you ask her a question she will make you feel stupid for asking. Luckily I only have her for lab but she has not been helpful
Professor Suri is honestly a very easy professor. We take all of our quizzes and tests on phones and she offers extra credit at the end of the semester!! She can be a little rude at times but she is funny in my opinion. IF you are looking to pass chem but not really grasp ALL the material take her :)

Fine if u only want this for credit . HOWEVER, it is impossible to learn. you cant ask questions without her making you feel dumb even though all she does in class is read off the slides, no office hours. you need to ask to use the bathroom, makes the class feel dumb for not being able to go to a uni. why become a professor when u hate teaching
If you've never taken chem before and not comfortable with it, do not take her you will learn nothing. She reads of ppt slides, does not answer questions. If you took chem in high school you will be fine bc it's the same thing. Quizzes are all multiple choice and taken on canvas. Can be rude. Gives lots of extra credit tho so it's easy to pass.
Honestly if you need this class for credit go ahead but if you want to learn then don't take her, if you ask a question and don't answer or answer wrong she'd probably look at you like you're stupid you kinda have to teach yourself things especially for labs, she isn't that gloomy anymore and tries to laugh with her class.
She's blunt, can come off as rude. Old school teacher. Great if you just need to pass. Not for deep understanding. Online coursework. Sort everything out in advance to avoid being singled out. Do pre labs before class, if you have her for lab as well be prepared to jump right in, she doesn't explain it in full detail. Just be polite.
mandatory attendance, dont come late. she reads off of slides and her tests are pretty easy. she doesn't answer your questions that well, just try not to get frustrated. if you need the A, take it. if you really need it for your major, consider someone else
I took her for lab and she is an awful prof always mean. I got a good grade in her lab but if u need this class you wont learn with her. Her quizzes are on canvas and they are easy and you use your phone iykyk. I only recommend her if you dont care for chem and only need it for GE. When shes mean to me i just stare at her lil stache shes funny lol.
Honestly if you're not passing this class you didn't even try. She's so easy even if she's frustrating. Take her if you just need the grade.
Everything is online for her. At least try to look interested during lab/lecture. Come prepared and just listen to what she says it's not worth the headache. Not for people who actually want to learn, take her for a passing grade

If you want to pass your lab, take her. if you want to actually learn about chem, do not take her. Quiz heavy. Hardly explains labs, expects you to do everything on your own & then gets mad at the class for talking during labs. She will make you feel dumb & embarrass you in front of the whole class for asking a simple question.
Worst class ever the whole class failed expect for 2 person that barely passed with a 70 no extra credits no curve no nothing. Hard professor to work with she honestly don't care. If you want to learn and pass don't take her!! RUN AWAY NOW!

The substitute professor was extremely rude and unprofessional. She didn't trust us to perform experiments, took over our work, and scolded students for packing up. She even threatened to contact our teacher for leaving after lab. Her attitude made the class uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Extremely rude and condescending
literally the easiest A to get during intersession, had her January 2025. It's an exhausting month but all the tests are online. Take her for an A and just suck it up
Pretty hard class and the lectures don't make much sense. Moves very quickly so it's easy to get lost but its very easy to get a good grade because tests are online and the homework is easy. The lab is easy but if you miss class its likely you will lose points for missing a lab, quiz or participation points in the small assembly.
