A fun Aussie! He really knows his material and is well prepared. His exam questions are always fair. An all around nice guy (as long as you don't interrupt his class).

Pretty good. Nice to have the notes on the internet. Does a good job with the material. DO NOT take this class unless you are ready to put in an insane amount of work. Some weeks in the lab you will only spend maybe 3 or 4 hours, but there have been times where ive spent 10. Be warned...

Strict about students being quiet during lectures, which can be good unless u are the one being kicked out! Notes on the internet were helpful and he thoroughly went over all the points. All around good prof, but maybe a little too hostile at times.

He's got a crazy Austrailian accent, but he's very easy to understand. He can be funny at times. Does not like when people talk or get up in the middle of class though. But he's cool.

He's pretty good overall as the Professor and the class is fine but the tests are really hard, and I think he marks hard but... the worst part is the lab (I've spent 6-10 hours on every lab!!) I'm not a fan of the Lab... They're pretty tough

Love his Australian accent. It does not make it hard to understand him though he makes sure that he talks very clear, because obviously not all of us can be Aussie! Tests are not too bad. Make sure you take down all the notes, and go to class!

Well he's definitely not as good as Wilson, but he is better than Hudson. His parts of the midterms and final weren't too bad. He basically takes his questions right from the notes. But make sure you go to class and actually take notes (he leaves blank spaces). Love his accent too!

awesome prof, shows alot of videos and is pretty clear even with the accent (which is awesome) his notes are OK, its just u gotta fill in the blanks, so dont plan on not going to class & study off the notes online

Dr.Chilton was an amazing prof! He knows his material and his accent is amazing! I wish we could have had him for the whole term. His notes were great- they are online with blanks, so you have to go to class! Overall...amazing teacher. I would recommend him for sure!

deffiantly my favorite prof! he made class interesting and fun with the videos and comments. I looked forward to attending class. His exams were fair, all questions came from his notes which were fill in the blank. I would take him for as many classes as I could.

Thoroughly enjoyed his class. Notes were fill in the blank but very helpful. Showed some videos that were of interest. Test questions were definitely fair. Loved his teaching style and his accent was definitely a bonus.

Once of the best profs I've ever had. His notes were fill in the blank so it motivated you to go to class. He used great examples that helped you remember the concepts. He has a great accent and is an overall nice, very intelligent, helpful professor. I would take another class from him for sure!

He is such an amazing teacher. If you had any questions that he could not answer, he would look up the answer and add a couple slides into the next lectures powerpoint. He was always cheerful and was one of the only classes I LOVED going to. IF YOU CAN GET DR.CHILTON DO IT! YOU WONT REGRET IT! if you have a split class get him for the second half.

He makes this class SOO worthwhile! You need to take this from him. He teaches half of it but you will learn so much from him. Always interesting stories, extremely clear notes and excellent class discussions. Tests were always fair but studying is required.

Awesome! Super interesting. Gets the class involved. Has the best accent. His notes are very clear and easy to understand. He gives current examples and has on many occasions brought in further examples from the previous day if anything is unclear. If only he taught the entire class instead half the term! CHILTON IS THE BOMB!

Awesome prof. Posted all his notes ahead on time online. Was easy to understand and clearly outlined what was the exam. Textbook was't require but online certain pages to read to help understand lecture. Only problem was he only taught half the course. Would definitely take another class by him.

So cool - he's Australian! The accent is thick, but not to a detriment. He always wears vests to class. He's very knowledgeable out bio, especially parasites. His slides are a little chaotic, but they are fill-in-the-blank and he goes over them in detail, which is great! The class is split between two profs, which sucks, but go for him for sure!

Amazing Prof. If you have anything you are unsure about and ask him he makes sure to give you a satisfactory reply. Very knowledgeable and interesting! Notes are mostly fill in the blank which makes you need to go to class but I liked biology a lot more when he taught it! I wish he taught the whole course instead of half!!

A marvelous professor! Even with his accent, it is very easy to understand him. He is very knowledgable and answers any question you might throw at him by the next class. Wish he had his own class for a full semester instead of only half. Explanations of the material are wonderful in the fact you will remember them. Overall great professor!

Best Biology Professor ever!

Super knowledgeable about all material, and even though his specialty is parisitology, his material was never biased towards these smaller organisms. He posts fill-in-the-blank lecture material online, and it is ALL highly relevant/useful (I never felt like I was printing off useless slides).

Very good professor. He used lots of pictures and videos to keep lectures interesting and teaches the material well. Exams were fairly difficult but I would definitely recommend him!

I love him! The classes are entertaining, he is funny, he posts great videos and photos to help you understand and keep it light! Dr. Chilton is a fantastic lecturer. He is very clear, gives examples, answers questions in class, and makes note-taking easy by posting the PDFs of his notes (with blanks, so you still have to pay attention) ahead of time. There was no textbook used in class. He's funny and his lectures are far from boring. 1010 would definitely take again.

What an amazing lecturer! Dr. Chilton is funny and he definitely knows his stuff. His slides are thorough, and he tests off them for everything. He posts his notes before hand, but with blanks, so if you go to class and fill in the blanks and pay attention, it's an easy A for sure.

I'm not a biology kind of person but Chilton made the class bearable. His lectures are clear and entertaining. He supplements them with videos which makes it easier for us to stay focused and understand the content.

Dr. Chilton is a very good prof. He facilitates his lectures in a clear, organized way. He often shows very entertaining videos that relates to content and I really like how he sometimes uses TopHat to give us practice exam questions. The only con I have for him is that his notes are often disorganized and scattered. Textbook not required!

Awesome prof! He is very funny and his Australian accent made lectures more interesting. He will go out of his way to make sure everyone understands concepts. Lecture was easy but the lab was difficult with a lot of memorizing. The final was not comprehensive which was nice. I would definitely take a class from him again

Loved this prof! He definitely knew what he was talking about it, and is great at teaching. Very fair and helpful! I went into the class thinking I would hate it, but ended up loving it! Don't take the lab as a joke though, study hard!

Great Prof! Chilton is absolutely wonderful he makes the lectures very easy, the only hard part of the class was the lab, if you show up to class then the midterm and finals are a breeze. BEWARE LAB IS AWFUL.

Probably the best prof I had all of first year. His lectures are engaging and really interesting making it easy to come to class and listen. The powerpoint is really dynamic with a mix of pictures videos and some jokes here and there. He posts skeleton notes so you need to go to class.

Dr. Chilton is the best professor I have had in my undergraduate career. He is caring, passionate, and really wants all his students to succeed. His lectures are engaging and he tries to make the course fun as well as informative. It's a fair amount of work and studying - but it ended up being my favorite class! Highly recommend.

Dr. Chilton had very entertaining lectures with good use of audiovisuals, the midterm was wicked easy with studying but the final was a lot more difficult than anticipated. Despite the final exam it was a great course overall and Neil was a captivating, humorous, and passionate professor.

I took B121 as a mandatory prerequisite but it ended up being my favourite class to date. Chilton is an incredible lecturer - he knows how to keep everyone's interest and making lectures fun. I would take this class again if I could. 10/10 would recommend this prof and this class.

Very good prof, would highly recommend. Love the Australian accent. Curious to see how he would be at an upper-level class, as BIOL 121 was quite easy.

Long story short: I'd follow Dr. Chilton to the ends of the earth. Long story long: I took this course after having already graduated from a different program, but had the prerequisites and desire to take BIOL436 (parasitology). His passion and enthusiasm about his work put into perspective what my career focus should have been from the beginning.

LOVED this class. Dr. Chilton is hilarious and makes his lectures interesting. Going to the class really helps when it comes to exams since he goes a little deeper than his notes does. Favourite class and prof to date. 11/10 would recommend. Labs are information heavy but if you put the work in it is easy to come out with a good grade.

This prof uses various methods to attract students actually enjoying learning: Class survey, sense of humour, and video in the middle of lecture. Punctual at lecture time, as well as, providing course materials. Accessible by email or appointment. This prof is really amazing person

Dr. Chilton is the best biology professor I have had to date. Every lecture is interesting, the content is engaging, and he connects all the concepts together beautifully. If you can, take his class.

Dr. Chilton is amazing. I enjoyed every lecture. He engages the whole class through video clips, tophat questions and always does a recap of the last lecture. Go to class, he always adds extra information that isn't given on the lecture notes. Study the material and you can do well in this class.

Neil is just overall a great prof who's passion for biology is apparent. His lectures are very interesting and the slides are fill in the blank, so attendance is mandatory. Midterm and final were not difficult, in fact the labs were the hardest part of this course. Neil's humour and accent made learning biology very fun!

Attendance is mandatory because his midterms are based on his notes which are just fill in the blanks. However, his tests are tricky. You need to put in the work because he is the type of professor that likes to put those 'which one is the correct statement' answers and MOST OF THEM WOULD SEEM RIGHT. Great prof just didnt like his tests

Prof. Chilton makes his course content in his lectures very clear and explains everything thoroughly, even with the remote learning style. It's not difficult to keep up with him and he is very helpful. As long as you take notes and watch all the lectures you shouldn't have any trouble understanding and passing this class.

He was a great prof who made class very engaging. He does do polls to see how well everyone remembered the material from the last lecture, but they are not graded.

He must be protected at all costs. He has an amazing personality and will often make the whole lecture theatre giggle. Very passionate on the topics covered.

Midterm and Final were very easy to write. I struggled when it came to the lab. STUDY VERY HARD FOR THE LAB.

I've had Neil for another class and it was okay but he does a great job with this course! Time flew by during lectures because he was very interesting to listen to and kept everyone engaged. Lectures can get messy so it's important to take notes. Labs were interesting yet pretty easy and assignments didn't take long. Exam questions were very fair.

Dr Chilton is overall an exceptional prof. Lectures were awesome, very interesting. Talking to him via appointment/email, he is very helpful. He even took the time to discuss and give advice on answering MC exam questions and it really helped. Only thing note worthy is that the lecture slides need improvement. Lab was the hard part.
