He is quite helpful and willing to help if you had a problem while doing his lab. If you put extra effort in lab and do well in his exam, no reason to not get 3,5 and above
His lectures don't help at all. He is a super hard grader good luck getting good grades. He is nice guy but that don't matter because he is a hard grader.
He is not a good teacher overall. I have a good chem backround and i tried hard and got a ok grade. He is very hard Grader, and grades is all it matters. If you wanna just learn chemistry take him but want a good grade dont
He is an okay grader. His lectures are very very boring. He grade homeworks, so make sure you do all the steps and get the right answer. His grading at lab is okay, he doesn't really checked a lot, just be careful with sigfigs.
Extremely easy but helpful
HE is a really good teacher! Overall, he was helpful and explained everything well. Even if he doesnt give extra credit, expect to do great on the tests and homework if you attend class daily!
He is extremely helpful, ciriculum is usually based on lectures and assignments. when i needed to verify if my answer was correct he was always able to help and direct me to the right answer. if anyone of my friends were needing to take a chem class i would reccomend taking chem with him.
Dr. D is super helpful and will help you with absolutely any question you ask. The coursework is rigorous but if you do the worksheets he gives out and attends class, he will give you everything you need to know. Best chemistry teacher I've seen at Greenriver!
I loved Dr. D. He was one of the most helpful professors I've ever had, and he would always explain things in ways to get any particular student to understand. Very kind!!!
Dr. D is an awesome instructor who clearly has a passion for the subject and loves his job! His exams can be difficult so study hard and put effort into the homework and you should walk away with a good grade. I'm taking him again for 162.
Dr.D is a great teacher. He always answer all of your questions. His tests are a little bit hard but he will give you some extra credits on the review days if you study hard.
He is really helpful. His test is quite difficult as you have to be careful with the sigfigs and some of the questions require explanation.
Fantastic teacher, I really hope he teaches 163. He's very clear, concise, thorough, and helps students out if need be. In terms of difficulty it's neither easy or hard. You do have to put in effort but none if it surprising (the content tested). Definitely the best chemistry teacher out of the current faculty. Remember sig figs!
Even though the tests are not easy, he gives high partial credits if you written down something related. Easy grading on lab reports as well. He is very nice answering questions at anytime, and he makes sure students understand. Work sheets are mostly done by group work. Lectures are fast so be sure to come to class everyday.
Dr. D is awesome! Really clear to understand and always willing to help you fully grasp it. If you study hard you will achieve the grade you deserve. He is very picky on the way lab reports are done. (use a ruler for the tables, always label, etc.) But overall he is definitely one of the best teachers I've had here at Green River!
Dr.D is by far the best chem professor you will ever have. He goes above and beyond for his students by staying after class and countless hours to help his students study and understand the material. He believes in his students and will push you to become a better chemist. By far, you are missing out by not taking his class. I LOVE DR.D!
Dr. D definitely knows his chemistry material really well, except he has the tendency to put students on the spot and give them a disgusted look if they answer something incorrectly. He gives a reasonable time to complete each assignment, but his exams are really hard and he is a tough grade make sure sigfigs are correct. Good luck in his class.
Dr. Duldulao (or Dr. D for short) is an acceptable professor. Expect many powerpoint lecturesslides and homework is done as a group of students of at least 2 or more. Tests are fairly difficult, but practice exams from his previous classes are given. He is very picky on sig figs, so be careful on lab reports, tests, and homework.
Best chemistry instructor I've ever had. He's really helpful, funny, and he explains everything clearly. He's an easy lab report grader, but his tests are hard! I definitely want to more of his classes!
Dr. D is a great teacher and is always willing to help students. He goes above and beyond for his students. Although, his test are a bit tricky. He makes class time very fun and learnable. He always has funny comments/ stories to share. I really would recommend you take his class, but be prepared to attend and ask a lot of questions.
Awesome teacher. Put in the effort and you will get a good grade. Tests are very similar to the pretests and in class games are played for extra credit on tests. He does kinda force you to be very social in his class and he WILL NOT hesitate to put you in a very awkward spot in front of everyone, just beware of that. I really enjoyed his class!
The best chemistry teacher I've ever had . Hilarious and very outgoing person! If anything doesn't obey the law of chemistry, the university will blow up!
Best chemistry teacher! His tests are a little tricky. Chem 162 is generally hard because of a vast amount of theories :(
BEST CHEM TEACHER EVER. His tests may be (extremely) tricky, but as long as you put in the effort, you will get what you deserve. Lectures are very clear. If you have any questions, he got plenty of office hours. JUST ASK! He is very organized and returned everything fast (about 1 day). You'll learn a lot with him! His Game of Evil is really evil.
Best Chemistry teacher! I took him from Chem 161 - 163. His tests are quite tough, but he's easy on the lab reports. Just go to class every day for his amazing lectures and do homework, you'll get an easy A.
BEST CHEMISTRY TEACHER EVER. He gives students ALL of the material (labs, in class activities, homework, practice tests) on the first day of the quarter. He is always available during office hours. And he is constantly refining his teaching to better fit the needs of his students. Extra credit must be earned in Dr. D's Game of Evil ;)
Dr. D is a good professor, but I noticed he covered a lot of material 161 classes are not supposed to cover, and I know this because I retook 161 and got him. I was also taking 163 at the same time, and we were both learning about pH's at the same time! Also, he is not very supportive of students going through things.
I'm not that bad at Chemistry. Moreover, I made a lot of efforts for the class. He still gave me a terrible grade.
if you want your life easy, dont take his class. His lecture is thorough and super clear. Therefore, u can tell he expects students a lot on exams. If u wanna pass his class, pay attention to every single detail in his slides. DO NOT skip any class. 40% in his test literally requires students to think outside the box !!!
Dr. D is mostly a great teacher until it comes to the final. The highest grade on the final (which is worth a ton towards the final grade) was an 82.5 while a 4.0 is a 95. My grade went down from an A to a B thanks to that. I don't know, maybe I'm just terrible at organic chemistry. Tests are very hard, but he is helpful if you know what to ask.
Dr. D is one of the best chemistry instructors. He's intimidating at first but he's really helpful during office hours and is always ready to answer questions. Although he is mean at times, he cares about his students. I highly recommend his classes!
Dr D is an excellent chemistry professor, the best I've had. His lectures are interesting and humorous and he's always willing to help after class, during office hours, or over email. He can come off as mean sometimes, but you'll get used to it. The tests the tricky, but not too bad if you've studied. Absolutely recommend his class!
For those starting OChem, I wish you the best of luck. It's NOT going to be easy. But trust me, it all depends on you and your effort. Do your reading, hw, practice exam. Don't rely on online answer key. His exams are tricky. BUT, HE IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND INSPIRING. He is the most ACCESSIBLE prof and willing to answer outside office hrs. TRUSTME
I love his class even though he is a very tough grader ! I really enjoyed learning Chemistry from him !
The most inspiring instructor I've ever had. He extremely loves Chemistry and he knows what he teaches. His lectures are always enjoyable for his humorous. He cares about his students, replies email really quick and is willing to answer questions outside of class. Fast grader as well. His exams are tricky! Study hard, and you can make it through!
No joke, he could be the best professor if you accept his teaching style and do not mind a small part of challenging problem on test. absolutely a 5 star instructor for me and most of the students in GRCC
I took the Ochem sequence with Dr.D and have to honestly say he is one of the people who had a huge impact on my life. I've transferred out to the University of Washington but will never find a professor who cares more about what he does and the students he teaches than Dr.D. I visit the school just to keep up with him
All I could say is that he is the best chemistry professor you can find out there. Trust me, don't expect this sequence is easy in a community college like GRC. Dr. D really makes you work for your grade, and once you survive his classes, you'd realize that he has given you a strong, stable foundation in organic chemistry.
I love his lectures and how he cracks jokes all the time in class, but as soon as you get into the lab room with him all fun is off and he is very strict. But if you need help he will provide it at any time of the day and cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is very passionate about what he teaches. his extra credit games are hell
i wouldnt take his class if u expect to pass just knowing the material. u need to know it really well, which sucks because when u transfer ur grade in the class matter and they dont care how hard your professor is. I know a lot of ppl who failed his ochem series and had to take it at highline becuz the teacher is easy and gives 4.0 if u do well.
Also it was very hard keeping up with class when you are taking a math class and a physics class. I did well in these classes becuz the prof are simple. He expects a lot for his student here he should teaching at uni not here ppl are trying to transfer to uw to get a bachelors but that wont happen if u do bad in this class. too bad hes o-chem
this is possibly the worst teacher I encountered in my life. I studied so hard in the class it wasn't enough to get an A. The problems on the test are impossible then the study guide. Many of the problems required a lot of thinking which isn't possible since it time-limited. He stares at u like a hawk while taking the test too much anxiety. I cried
If u thought u can pass this class think again. The way he structures his lecture prepares u to fail. I saw this because some of the smart ppl didnt take notes they read the textbook and did all the problems and watched videos. He only does 1-2 problems straight from the text. When the test comes the problems don't match. very mad ochem with him.
He is really a best professor in GRC. Ochem is basically not easy. I can see he prepares really well on how to teach students. He cares students a lot. If you are not understanding the materials, you will more likely suffer from biochemistry or physical chemistry in Uni. The students completed his ochem series more likely to get into great schools.
It makes me wonder if his job is teaching ppl the material or screwing over the kids who are honest workers. The only way to get an A on the test is to know what the earlier section was tested so many students got a high grade from cheating not fair at all. If u have friends u do well from this. Also impossible to do the hw unless u cheat on it.
He's really not a great professor for testing students the material. His tests are difficult with low averages. He even says he expects that from his students. What type of prof does that? I thought profs care about how well students do and help them win in school. He's happy to see u fail. I never cheat maybe I should now because its all about A.
Dr. D is the best professor that you can have for Chemistry hands down. He always provides great feedback and communicates well with his students. His teaching style is also very straightforward. OChem is a really difficult subject, but Dr. D is really helpful if you spend time with the concepts and communicate your questions to him.
Dr D is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is a fantastic lecturer and frequently holds office hours in which he is very helpful. Ochem with him was challenging, but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed. His course was demanding , but very fair. He is a very responsible professor, and grades extremely quickly.
I have learned so much from Dr. D. I took his classes for both gen chem and o chem. He delivered all material very logically and clearly. I transferred to UCLA. IMO, his way of teaching exceeded most of the uni professors', he is fun, attentive, and a phenomenal teacher. Compared to others in uni, my lab skills are solid after I transferred.
I had him for general chemistry and then the whole organic chemistry sequence, while at first he was not my favorite teacher because he makes his exams so darn hard I realized that hes preparing those who want to actually do chemistry as a job he is a great teacher, but his exams are harder than any other college exams are deadly though, good luck
Just finished the whole organic series and let me tell you Dr. D is one of the best instructors at GRC. His tests are really hard but are designed to help facilitate your learning. Doing lots and lots of practice problems from the textbook as you can and adopting effective study methods will definitely be beneficial.
An extremely inspiring instructor, his exams are challenging even compare to grad school, but you will definitely learn something from him. He will always provide help when you need it, and judge you brutally when you make stupid mistakes. Still, my favorite instructor so far. I would recommend him if you truly want to learn.
Dr. D seems nice, at least from what I interpreted through email. however the tests for this class are extremely difficult and you have to put a lot of time into this class. hes easy on grading lab reports, though.
lectures mediocre, need more interactive aspect. needs to elaborate more on each subject/concept. lectures were not really that helpful and I had to use alot of outside resources to learn what he was teaching. he is very nice though. just too independent of a class for these big chem concepts
Dr. D is the type of proff that actually knows how to teach chemistry. Even though his exams are extremely hard but they will prepare you when you transfer to undergrad. I did badly in my chem 261 but I was able to bound back in Chem262/3 so don't give up! You will learn a lot from him but you will have to put tons of effort into it. Good luck
He is the best prof at GRC. He graduated from UC Berkeley then done his Ph.D. at Yale. He allowed me to know what it likes for a student who attends a prestigious school through his exams and his class structure. If you truly want to learn about chemistry, take his class. If not, don't do it. Because it won't be an easy course.
Dr.D is great, compared to other chem professors. His lectures are interesting but gives so much information all at once! Be prepared to get external help in terms of understanding the material. A tough grader but gives extra credit questions on some exams. It is very difficult to get a 3.6 n above, but not impossible!
I absolutely loved this professor, he is such a nice professor and made the classes enjoyable and interactive, even through Zoom. There were a lot of assignments but he also gave a lot of clear and helpful feedback within a short time period. The teaching style made it fun and relatively easy-ish to learn the material within the given time.
Dr. D. Is. Amazing. I hated chemistry and was not happy I needed to take it (I'm pre-med), but his engaging, humorous teaching style made chemistry one of my favorite subjects! Exams are difficult, but he provides you with everything you need to succeed, and is incredibly gifted at explaining concepts. Be diligent and you'll do well!
THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! His classes are not easy, but it isn't unreasonable and will prepare you for upper-level classes. (that's why I love it!) If you work really hard, it is even possible to receive over a 100% Watch the lectures carefully and DO THE WORKSHEET! Just remember you'll be putting a lot of time and effort for this class :)
probably gave himself all the good reviews
Okay teacher all lessons are online and purely confusing. I used to love chemistry but he changed my thought on that,TEST MATTER and study well.He gives practice tests that are okay but still not enough. His test requires a full understanding of the topics, as he pulls out many small details,I wouldn't take it again,to much effort not much earned.
His communication skills were subpar. He rarely responded to emails or messages promptly, leaving us hanging with important inquiries or concerns. It was frustrating to feel ignored and unsupported, especially when we needed clarification on assignments or course content.
A significant issue was his inconsistency in grading. There were instances where he provided vague feedback on assignments, making it challenging to understand where we went wrong or how to improve. Additionally, it seemed like he played favorites, as some students received higher grades on similar work without any apparent reason.
To start with, Mr. Duldulao's teaching style was incredibly monotonous and uninspiring. He seemed disinterested in the subject matter, and his lack of enthusiasm was contagious. It made it difficult for students to stay engaged during lectures, leading to a significant loss of interest in the course content.
My time with Mr. Neil Duldulao as my teacher was nothing short of a disappointment. From the beginning of the course until its end, I found myself constantly frustrated and unimpressed with his teaching abilities and demeanor.
His grading system appeared inconsistent and unfair. It felt as though he had a predetermined bias against certain students, as evidenced by the significantly lower grades they received compared to others who submitted similar quality work. This favoritism only served to undermine the credibility of his evaluation process.
The lack of respect he showed towards students was particularly troubling. He often belittled and embarrassed those who asked questions or expressed differing opinions. It was disheartening to witness a teacher displaying such unprofessional behavior, which undoubtedly contributed to a toxic learning environment.
the most frustrating aspect of Mr. Duldulao's teaching was his refusal to adapt to the evolving educational landscape. He seemed unwilling to incorporate modern teaching methods or utilize technology effectively in the classroom, leaving us ill-prepared for the real-world challenges that demand adaptability and digital skills.
I regret to say that my time with Proffesor Neil Duldulao as my teacher was nothing short of disappointing. From the very beginning, it was evident that he was ill-suited for the role of an educator. His lack of competence and dedication severely impacted the quality of our learning experience.
First and foremost, Pro Duldulao's knowledge of the subject matter was questionable at best. It was clear that he had a limited understanding of the material, and he often struggled to provide coherent explanations for essential concepts. This lack of expertise hindered our ability to grasp the content and left us feeling confused and misled.
His teaching style was incredibly ineffective. He relied heavily on outdated teaching methods, such as monotonous lectures and dull PowerPoint presentations. There was a notable absence of engaging activities or practical applications, making it difficult to connect the theoretical concepts with real-world scenarios.
Duldulao displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. He frequently arrived late to class without any explanation or apology, wasting valuable learning time. Additionally, he seemed disinterested and apathetic during lectures, giving off the impression that he was merely going through the motions without genuinely caring about our education.
One of the most frustrating aspects of this experience was Mr. Duldulao's inability to provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments. It took weeks, and sometimes even months, to receive any form of evaluation, leaving us without the chance to improve or learn from our mistakes.
Classroom management was virtually non-existent under his supervision. The classroom environment was chaotic, with little respect for discipline or order. He seemed unable to control disruptive students, making it challenging for those of us genuinely interested in learning to concentrate and participate actively.
Dr. D was a fantastic professor. Had office hours every day, excluding Friday. He was always willing to meet students outside of his office hours and was highly accessible outside of class. He offers practice tests similar to content covered on the actual tests! Drops lowest HW and lab, replacing the lowest exam grade if u got high score on final.
Worst class ever taken. I tend to be good at chemistry but this class made me rethink my profession. His test made sense zero sense, I studied for more than 8 hours a week and still couldn't get it. This is the only class I have ever taken in which I almost got a B. Suppose you plan on getting an A, plan on not taking this class. Just don't do it.
Dr. D is a great professor. His class is difficult (chemistry is a difficult subject) but if you do the work and study you'll pass. There is lots of memorization so don't wait 'till the day of the exam to study. The lectures are long and feels like material is constantly being piled on, but that's not necessarily his fault. I enjoyed the class.
I've taken Dr. D for the following classes so far: CHEM&163, CHEM&261, and CHEM&262, and I will continue with him for CHEM&263. Dr. D has been excellent in my experience. He has been teaching at GRC for some time, so he has experience in teaching classes and, over the years, has shaped the course to be well-suited for students' learning.
There's no words that could express my respect for Dr. Duldulao. He's a tough professor and grader but he helps his student succeed. You won't want to miss his lectures or homework because they will help you get through. Told him once about my goal and he knew instantly when we made banana flavor. Much love and respect from a former student. 22-23
BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!!! Initially, I was hesitant to take the organic chemistry sequence due to its reputation for difficulty. It was indeed challenging, but manageable with regular study. Utilizing office hours is crucial for mastering the material and excelling in the course. The professor also really cared for his students!!
One of the best instructors at GRC! Ochem can be challenging, but he makes it more enjoyable to learn. Make sure to understand the connections between concepts, and spend proper time practicing. He cares a lot about his students' success, so if you need help, don't hesitate to ask him during office hours or via emails.
Nice teacher to talk to, was very helpful during office hours. Lectures were boring, although it could also be that the chem163 didn't feel as interesting as the previous chem series. Very little opportunities for extra credit, usually a multiple choice question that gives +3 pts if you're right on exams.
Inevitably, organic chem is hard, but Dr D makes it so much easier. He is not only a kind, caring and hilarious person, but great teacher. His lectures are very clear and easy to follow. He has daily office hours that help a lot! He is also a very fair grader and has clear criteria of what he expects. He is well respected, 10/10 would recommend.
He is a tough grader, and he does swear quite a bit, (although it's not a problem and he says he will stop if asked), but he is good at giving feedback as well as explaining what you did wrong, his lectures are informative and engaging, and he cares about his students and helping them to improve. He is an all-around amazing teacher!
One of, if not the best, general chem teacher to take. It's a lot of work but he makes lectures fun and gives a bunch of feedback on work especially if you ask. On tests and finals he gives lots of partial credit on questions even if you get them wrong.
He is very generous with partial credit on tests but assigns a decent amount of homework. It's not really a problem with him, moreso the class as its a ton of material to remember. Hes very funny and cracks a lot of jokes but the material can be very boring especially during 2 hour lectures. Hes always accessible outside of class which is good.
Best teacher
His class is not the easiest class ever but his lecture are clear and you can easily pass the class by showing up everyday, very funny and friendly professor, taken him ever since Chem 141. He's very willing to help as long as you ask him for help.
