Mr. K is an awsome teacher, hands down. i struggle with bio but im doing great in his class because he makes the lectures very very very interesting. he shows alot of pictures and has many slides so he could explain step by step he even shows videos to make thing a little clear. over all hes pretty awsome. i recemend him

Class is not that easy but teacher is very nice and helpfull. Just make sure to come to class and do all homeworks and study for tests and you will be fine :) gives some extra credit!!

I just took Mr. KP for the 3 week summer course. He is amazing! I hated biology coming into this class because of high school but he made me LOVE biology! Tests can be a bit tricky but nothing some studying couldn't fix. Overall one of my favorite teachers at MVCC. Taking him again this fall for BIO 112! Take him!

sexiest teacher at moraine . he makes biology very easy and very fun. he does many games and silly little activities unlike most teachers that just read out of a book and give you notes. hes not hard . he helps you and hes very clear and not confusing. i love him.

very helpful teacher! he has fun lectures and hands on activities to go with a few of the lectures. he will go with the pace of the class. if he sees that the class is struggling he will take his time and push tests back. i highly recommend you take him!

He's an awesome teacher, I enjoyed his lectures and the class overall. I did not feel it was difficult but me and another student were the only ones with an A for the final grade, don't get intimated though just pay attention and you should be fine

He is willing to explain anything and everything!If you are really interested in a topic ask him about it. He has a ton of knowledge on a wide range of topics and is really interesting to talk to. Mr. Kirkpatrick is caring, loving, and hot!! His lectures get to the point and he explains things well!! Take him if you don't like boring lectures! Barley any hw, didn't use the book at all! Only for finding definitions, so save your money and don't buy it! He will answer ANY questions you have! I learned a lot! TAKE HIM!! And he loves water!

I recommend him. He is nice and he explain if further needed. Offers E.C. Easy work, test and quizzes are easy. DO NOT turn in work early because he will probably lose it. you get extra credit on each test, even the final. everything you need to know for his test and quizzes are in his power points, DO THE OBJECTIVES. they are extra credit and actually help you study a lot. he's funny and a good teacher!!

Mr. Kirkpatrick is a pretty awesome easy going guy. He is a good teacher but doesn't go slow enough I feel. You need to study in this class. He makes class fun and interesting. His tests were tough to me because it doesn't really follow the study guide. The study guide can be turned in for extra credit though :). He is a really nice guy.

He is very sweet and helpful. He does make you work for it though. I am not good at science so that is why it was harder. He loves his job and is good at it! if you have to take BIO 111 i would take him.

Mr. K is awesome. His exams are fairly simple and he is always willing to help. Practicals are okay. He gives extra credit! He is very knowledgeable in the subject far beyond the textbook, and makes the class easy to understand. Put in the work to study the slides and you'll get an A.

If you find his class hard, school might not be for you. He goes over everything, tests are no surprise. He's a brilliant professor who is very passionate about the subject and is always there for his students when they need him, past or present. He is by far the best professor I have ever come across there isn't another option at MVCC for Bio!

DO NOT take his class if you want an easy A. I thought he was going to be a moderate teacher, but he really wants you to earn your grade. He gives study guides, but honestly if you struggle in bio like me, you should read the textbook to study for tests. He tells you what are on quizzes, but it's always different, so study beyond of what he says.

He is honestly amazing. He's extremely smart and teaches outside of textbook material for students to be successful. I would definitely take him for 50 more classes if I can. His 112 class is a lot more challenging than 111. He says if you barely passes 111 you will most likely do bad in 112

He's a great teacher but get ready to work! At least he gives good study guides and makes the class fun, so you're not just sitting there listening to him talk for three hours.

He's very kind and understanding, won't trouble you about being late/absent. He has good, clear teaching methods. The class does require a lot of studying, but nothing crazy. His lectures are a little fast, but he explains them extremely well and makes connections. Loved him and the class. Highly recommend him.

Professor Kirkpatrick is a great instructor. His class activities allowed students to get their brains to think about what he lectured about. Didn't really use the book,because his Power Points had everything you needed to know, so save yourself the extra expense. DO OBJECTIVES! They count as extra credit on exams & final! Study and you'll do good!

Unless you are lazy, never study and are forced by your parents to attend college, you should do great in Prof. Kirkpatrick's class! He teaches the subject well and offers E.C. that goes toward exams, EVEN THE FINAL!!! Study your butt off for exams, ask questions when you don't understand and you should get at least a "B"!!

Honestly the BEST bio prof @ moraine! Take him!! 2 Scientific articles and 1 sustainability project all assignments easy A. Study OBJECTIVES (EC) for tests and quizzes (sometimes partner quizzes). Do not be lazy in his class and he loves answering any questions. Practicals & quizzes were super easy if you took the time to study :)

best bio teacher ever!! if youre not good at bio take him he'll help you get a good grade and he answers questions, although sometimes he makes you feel dumb for asking them. i did terribly in high school biology but i did really well in his bio class. group quizzes, fun labs, interesting and engaging lectures. register before his class fills up!!

Mr. Kirkpatrick is a great biology professor. Textbook is optional but recommended. Uses power-points to lecture, then the other half of class is lab. Gives many chances for extra credit. Not too much homework, and the tests are somewhat typical to the average science class. Great personality, actually cares, and is interested in your education.

Hes an awesome teacher! Great class! Lectures with power point and he includes pictures and videos also polls so you wont get bored during lecture! Simply amazing! Would take for all my bio classes! Strongly reccomend

wonderful professor, took his BIO 112 four week summer class, it was a great experiment, he's a great professor that is passionate about what he teaches, he's a really nice respectful professor that would help you with anything, easy fun class, easy tests for sure, 2 super easy papers, I had to give him feedback, wish I took him for BIO 111.

Honestly one of the best out there. Clear and concise. Great about answering questions. Tries to spice it up during lecture with various activities. Different extra credit opportunities throughout. HIGHLYYYY RECOMMEND

Knows his stuff, does a good job at explaining the material. Goes over things that will be on the exam and quiz a lot. Grades papers decently, puts in exam and quiz grades the day of or the next day. Homework is pretty rare but if there is homework it is very helpful.

Good teacher if you care and show up then you will pass very simple.

We use the text book a lot. He's a great guy and teacher, passionate about bio and is good at explaining. He is kind of strict. He flies through the notes very quickly, so you cannot rely on them. Instead, go to his web page and look at all the notes there, and start study guides as early as possible. Class is not hard but requires lots of work.

Really chill, laid back dude. He has a lot of activities planned during class so he isn't just lecturing the whole time. Labs can be fun but mostly they're just annoying. Tests are easy and he gives study guides. Class was mainly basic anatomy, a little bit about diseases, and some genetics/DNA. Very basic biology class. Easy!

Even though I was terrible at science, I felt that I understand more about almost everything I learned now taking his class! I highly suggest to take his class. He's a real cool guy. His way of teaching is really effective.

Professor Kirkpatrick is a great teacher. He relates the material to what you can use in everyday and how it relates to you. He always answers your questions with no confusion. There's a lot of work , but is super easy. Material is easy and offers extra credit on every exam.

Mr Kirkpatrick spells everything out clearly in the syllabus: assignments, tests (even gives study guides), what's due and when. All you have to do is participate and make sure you go to labs. Effort is key, so how much you put in determines how well you do. He knows his stuff, and showed us how so much is interconnected. Loved this class.

Amazing teacher! If you show up to class and participate, it is pretty hard to fail. He has a lecture rule where every 20 min or so, he likes to change up the activity or material. He really cares about the success of his students.

Mr. Kirkpatrick is an amazing professor! He explains everything so well and he likes to switch up his lectures so hes not just talking the entire time. He really cares about you being successful in the class. I would recommend taking him any chance you can. :)

This class was similar to a high school class, where you're given information to memorize and recall for a test. After learning you do a lab. He gets strict about late things and Is a nice person. Unless you're knowledgeable about biology get ready to study.

I would highly recommend Mr. Kirkpatrick. His lectures are all power points but he does a great job of breaking up him talking with other ways to learn the material. Lots of easy points available and extra credit offered on every test.

This Professor was fantastic. His lectures are all about participation and group work to understand biology from a non-STEM major perspective. We saw everything in a real world point of view, and it was great. If you showed up and studied very hard with his study guide materials, then you should be fine. I can honestly say this was a great course.

I'm not super into biology, but I really enjoyed this class and Prof Kirkpatrick. He relates the information to you and why you should care; he also does this in an easy to understand fashion. Rubrics and grades are straightforward and planned ahead. Uses canvas so that's wonderful. Only wish was a bio major so I could take his class again!

I am taking his class during the first semester of being completely online and he is really clear with the material and expectations. Each week is the same so you won't be confused. There is a weekly quiz but it is nothing crazy. All kind of assessments stick to the material.

Prof. Kirkpatrick is a FANTASTIC teacher if you don't mind note-taking. His lectures are engaging & very easy to follow/understand. Labs are interesting & easy too. As long as you keep track of Canvas & take good notes, this class is fun & simp. Kirkpatrick is great to talk to both in & outside of the classroom setting, & he's pretty funny too!

One of the best professors I have had. I struggle with science but he has such great lectures and will help with any questions. He responds to canvas questions pretty quickly and gives good feedback. He also includes present issues that relate to the class which was cool to see the things we learn happening in the real world.

This was my easiest class all semester. The tests/exams are all based on the lectures he has posted on Canvas. I took this class hybrid, so all of my labs were done in person. He also offers extra credit if you do the study guides for each unit. Definitely recommend.

Had him human biology, was an amazing teacher. I hate science, but he made it very accessible and understandable. Some would say his workload is overbearing, but it should not take you more than 30 minutes a day. he worked very well with my schedule and my other classes and was very understanding. TAKE HIM, you can tell he cares about teaching! :)

Teacher is great, took him online for BIO 104 and it's an easy A - as long as you do your work. There are labs and homework due Tues, Weds, Thurs, and Fri. Sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Everyone says the labs take like 5-6 hours but I got them done in a way shorter time. Super chill teacher who is very accessible and kind. TAKE HIM!

I took his 4-week long class. It was a ton of work (as expected), but totally doable. He is well organized with the lessons and gives good feedback too. His quizzes were everything that was covered in the notes/lecture, and the final were written essay questions instead of a lengthy multiple choice test. I bet he's even better in person; take him!

He was a bit excessive with needing pictures for the labs but class was very easy. grades really easy and gives great feedback. easy to contact out of class.

If you are a non-bio major looking for a science class to take this class! Prof. Kirkpatrick is an amazing teacher he is passionate about what he does and he makes biology so easy to understand. His quizzes are open note and his exams are very easy if you pay attention and study. Labs are also very simple you just show up do it and get points.

I just knew once I took BIO at a college level, I would hate it. But I did not! Mr. Neil was such a great teacher to have. He's super passionate about teaching and its noticeable in his lectures. He interacts with students in class which is always nice. And there are opportunities for extra credit and test corrections. I would def take him again!

Amazing! Mr.Kirkpatrick made me fall in love with Biology and his class! I am a Business major and intimidated with anything Science related. Found myself intrigued by every lecture and enjoying the class immensely. Lab kits were educating and enjoyable, never took more than 2 hours. Amazing feedback and follows every students progress closely.

He is a very nice teacher. Book is not required for online class everything you need is in the lecture notes. The exams are five essay questions and the final exam is five essay questions from each unit. You complete all the assignments, labs, and provided study guide/outline it's impossible to fail.

anyone who said this professor is bad truly did not try in his class. Ive taken 3 labs and this is the best one ive ever taken. He doesnt make you feel slow if you mess up or ask questions. He offers lots of extra credit and is super understanding as long as you put in the work. A lot of his lectures has information that was genuinely beneficial.

This class is a 10/10. He is very understanding and will let you complete your late work when you miss class for a valid reason. Allows extra credit and helps you when you need the extra help on anything, I definitely recommend him and would take a class with him again.

I just finished this class, and this professor was great! I hate lectures, but his are very bearable. He tries to make them interactive and easy to understand. Labs are veryyy easy and fun. He gives extra credit and list of objectives to know before the test which are super helpful. He is always available and happy to help.
