awesome teacher
Dr. Levens is an awesome guy, very cute and a wonderful psyc prof. He taught at Indiana University of Pennsylvania before he came here and you can even look him up at that school and see for yourself!!! Take him any chance you get!! Makes class very interesting!
Nice teacher with a good sense of humor.

Nice guy. His class is both interesting and easy.
he's a great teacher. he keeps the class fun and entertaining. i would strongly recommend his class.
AWESOME TEACHER! iwould reccomend taking any class he teaches, its fun and interesting, he even makes the tests fun!
he is very nice, easy to talk to and funny, will go over anything with you, tests are long and mostly essay based but not especially hard, notes are always on blackboard but he usually goes over examples in class
He was a great teacher and made the class fun...He doesnt take attendance, but leaves notes on blackboard..i recommend him for any class!! Plus hes really cute :)
He is an awesome professor. He keeps classes interesting. The material is not that hard, mainly memorization but common sense too. If you study, it is an easy A. I give this class 2 thumbs up!
ONE OF THE EASIEST CLASSES AT USC! He explained everything so well and kept the class interesting. If you plan to take Psyc 101, take it from Levens, you won't regret it. His tests are fairly easy and the classes are enjoyable to attend. Even though the class is large, he interacts with the class and answers questions. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!
Dr Levens is a wonderful professor. He spends time with every student that needs help. He doesn't take attendance but does use Blackboard. He is interesting and extremely hot.....
I started out in this class kind of rough, but if you study your notes, and go by during his office hours when you don't understand you can definitely get an A. He has a great personality and it's mostly essay based tests. DON'T GET THE BOOK
Dr. Levens makes psychology soo interesting and as long as you study the notes (which are on blackboard) you will do fine on the tests.
This guy is real laid back, he is funny as hell and makes everything very straight-forward for exams. Go to class because he will put stuff only told in class on tests just to make sure that you are present. You don't have to read unless it's from the thin book. It's a lot of notes, but the tests are strictly memorization. It's an easy A and fun.
He is a great professor! Even though the class was boring he tried his best to keep us interested. He will always try to help. Definetly take him if possible!
Levens makes a required class for Psyc majors something that you don't dread going to. He's a fun teacher (I also had a small class though - 25 people). He puts all of his notes on BlackBoard, so sometimes it seems pointless to come to class, but it's still a good class. His exams are pretty easy, I never made less than an A on them.
I took professor Levens for Learning of Psychology and it was very interesting. HE is so nice! His tests are very hard esp. the first 2. I thought that the final was very easy. I ended up with a B in his class. The only thing I hated doing was "Sniffy" the virtual rat experiments. He does not take attendence but go to class. You need to take notes!
Very fun and entertaining class. Go to class for what you get out of it personally, since you don't really need to for the grade. Lots of fun and interesting discussions. Prof relates to students well and is very fair and easy going. Highly suggested.
Fairly easy class. Awesome professor, very funny and nice. The test come straight from the Power Point which he posts on BlackBoard. He designed fun projects and made current events a part of the class to keep it interesting. No curve balls. Straight forward and a great introduction to Psychology.
Classes are interesting and get students involved, he's hilarious, and he is SO hot. I could stare at him all day.
Dr. Levens is a great teacher. He makes the class interesting and fun. He post all the powerpoints on blackboard just in case you don't come to class. But I recommend going, because he likes to show awesome video and moving clips to explain psychology. Awesome teacher, and HIGHLY RECOMMENED!! =)
Awesome teacher. I took the honors section so the class was more discussion, but he's so fun. I had no interest in psyc before this, but I wanted to go to class. Understands students, doesn't make a big deal about helping you out. Plus he's easy on the eyes. TAKE HIS CLASS.
I wouldn't say the class was easy but was very interesting and Dr. Levens was very straight forward and I felt that he wanted his students to do good....I had to study more than I thought I would but I still got an A!!!!
I LOVED this class. It was so amazing and completely mind blowing. My music major friends didn't really find this course as interesting as I did, but I loved it. Dr. Levens is such a good professor; I'm lucky that he's my adviser for the moment as well. I'm hoping that I get him for my Psyc 226 class next semester too. I love his teaching style. :)
He's really nice, I went to class every day because he made it interesting to be there. Really clear in what he wants on the tests. Don't buy the textbook...you wont need it.
Amazing teacher and REALLY interesting class! Loved it so much that I declared my major as psychology.
very funny guy, keeps the material interesting. puts all slides online and doesn't take attendance..if you don't go and study a fair amount then you'll prob get a B or C without a problem.. but to get an A go to class-there are a few test ?s that you'll only know the answers to if you are in class. lots of extra credit opportunities. great class!
THe class was interesting and he was really funny, but his tests are hard. You have to go to class to understand anything!!!
Awesome teacher! It's obvious he enjoys what he's teaching. He makes class interesting and fun. Doesn't take attendance. Puts notes on Blackboard. Gives extra credit.
Extremely down to earth, really knows what hes talking about, everything is straight from a powerpoint which he posts on blackboard. Tests arn't too hard because he gives you a study guide.
Great teacher. Really helpful. Very laid back.
goodlooking proffesor! He is always in Chill mode, he doesnt care to be impressed, just show interest and be energetic, bc he is always energetic! I love his style, easy to approach, looks like a student, great sense of humor, and his assignments are ez! Just do your practice h-works they will help on the tests! But he is an all around gr8 professo
Dr. Levens wants you to enjoy learning. He is laid-back, respectful of his students, funny, and very easy to approach.Don't think you can slack off in this class. The tests contain mostly essays. There were also 2 papers and 5 homeworks to turn in. Do the reading and DON'T SKIP CLASS.Apply yourself and you should succeed! This class helped me greatly
honors class-My favorite class so far. Lectures were always interesting & easy to understand. 4 short papers-pretty easy. No tests. 2 bigger papers that were exam grades. 2 group projects with presentations. Doesn't take attendance. Easy class unless you wait until the night before to do the work. TAKE THIS CLASS! It is so interesting!
He is so funny! You'll laugh at least once every class. He does fun little activities sometimes too during class. This is the only class I didn't want to fall asleep in!
The information is actually pretty interesting most days and he keeps his students on their toes by talking about topics we can actually relate to, his tests however can become quite difficult if you don't stay on top of the readings and powerpoints.
He's amazing. He tries to make everything interesting. You can ask him anything. You can skip class any day as long as you can get the notes from someone else. You don't need to use the book. There's only tests in his class that are so easy and tons of extra credit. You don't need to go to SI. He makes you LOVE psychology. It's now my major!
Great guy, really funny. You will do really well in his class if you go and do the readings. Really good professor, I highly recommend him. Go to class and do the readings though
Amazing proff. He's really funny and makes going to class interesting. Attendance isn't taken. Tests can be a bit challenging, and sometimes he puts things on the test that he refered to in class or in a movie shown in class. Notes and grades put on BB. I'm now a psyc major because of this class!
Levens teaches really interesting stuff. I had an interest in psychology and thought this class would be a breeze. You do have to study for his tests and go to class to be able to do well. Not going to class = lower test grades. Fun and informative teacher.
I refer to material I've learned in Dr. Levens' classes more than any other class I've taken. He teaches on extremely relevant and impacting material. He's easygoing, respectful, and funny. 3 tests, 2 short papers, 1 paper, 1 final. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
Cool teacher, interesting class, lots of extra credit available.
Very interesting class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he is a good professor. If you attend class and take notes and don't study the night before, its an A or B easily.
The Honors section of Psych 101 was difficult at times, but extremely interesting. The course would be easier if it weren't for the huge group project at the end and the two take-home tests, but overall it wasn't bad. Levens does a great job conveying material in the class.
He tried his best to make class interesting. he hardly never used the text book. All his exams came from his lecture notes. He is a fun professor but you have to work to get an A. IF not then you'll probably just end up with a B+ which isnt bad
Dr. Levens is a chill and laid back kind of guy. Going to class is actually really interesting and he does tons of exercises to get points across. The material really was not that hard, just required a little bit of studying and I got an easy A. All we had was 11 homework assignments (lowest dropped) and 3 exams. Take him if you can!
Great teacher! I really enjoyed his class and would highly suggest it to others.
Dr. Levens is awesomee. Laid back, funny, entertaining, and the subject matter was extremely interesting. Class isn't mandatory but you'll definitely want to go! A lot of papers, but not too much outside work besides that. My favorite class this semester by far
Its fun!Hes funny and loves what hes doing. You HAVE to come to class because he loves to give examples that arent on the powerpoints. He usually doesn't put the powerpoints up until a few days after.Theres a few papers, and the tests arent too bad. Study guides arent based on readings from the textbooks.
TAKE HIM. I took this class with another professor and hated it and I took it with him and understood everything and had a great time in his class. make friends it helps to. the powerpoints are important and so are notes. ask him for help if need it.
This class was one of the best ones I have taken at USC so far and Levens is an awesome professor. Lectures are always interesting and I learned A LOT about drugs and their effect on the body/mind. The information is actually useful for everyday life. Exams are challenging, but reasonable. Three papers and four exams. Didn't use the textbook much.
Great professor. He really does try to help everyone. I found it interesting that he learns everyone's names... the class had like, 70 people in it! Definitely take him!
Dr. Levens is amazing!!! He is extremely interesting, witty and hilarious. If it's not on the study guide, it won't be on the exam. Although attendance is not mandatory, it helps because sometimes questions on exams have to do with demonstrations done in class. SO nice and SUCH an awesome guy!! TAKE HIM!!!!
Perhaps the best professor at USC I've encountered so far. Very witty, engaging, and intelligent. Study guides are straightforward and he's extremely helpful! And not too bad to look at either!
Levens is a great professor and this is a very interesting class. Levens finds interesting ways of presenting the information and the information learned can be incorporated into your everday life. 11 homework assignments (one is dropped) and three exams. Highly recommend.
Dr. Levens is one of the coolest professors at USC! He's funny, makes the class interesting, and he's kinda cute, for an older dude! If you can, TAKE HIS CLASS! Even some of the test questions are funny! You'll love his class!
Fantastic! I had him for research methods and he made it interesting and my favorite class. I didnt study much and got A's but i know other people had issues with tests. As long as you show up and listen you will be fine. He does a lot of review and practice before exams. He is really funny and uses a lot of real world examples which helps.
Great class! he made everything very interesting! funny and had great reviews. his tests can be a little tricky but if you go to class he has great reviews. plus he's not bad to look at (:
Prof Levens takes makes this class interesting. I love psychology but was not looking forward to Research Methods. But as long as you go to class & pay attention, you'll make a good grade. He's very nice, funny, and interesting. He knows a lot about his field and by the end of the course you will too. Posts PowerPoints on BB and gives study guides.
(psyc 400 and 460) LOVE LOVE LOVE LEVENS! He is not a hard teacher and he tries to make class interesting. He prefers classes of students who are outgoing and interactive so speak up and he will help you out.
Awesome teacher!!!! Not hard, don't worry to much about taking notes in class but skim the book and rely on it for details of the powerpoint topics and you will be good to go! If you have trouble go talk to him he will help!
He makes class super interesting. The reading is really interesting and doesn't take long. I didn't take notes ever and still got an A. The exams were take home and there's 2 group projects. It was a fun, easy class and he's a really current and cool teacher.
Great professor, the class moved a little slow at times for my liking but overall he was very good at explaining content and giving feedback. You can tell he genuinely cares about the success of his students. He's also pretty high up psych department if I'm not mistaken so it could be a good idea to get to know him if you're a psych major
pretty cool guy. makes a boring class fun and interactive. very high up in the Psychology department so if you have questions then definately go to him. Not hard, gives study guids
Very fun guy who keeps you interested. This class is super easy.
if you don't do well on tests that are all essay, i wouldn't recommend you take his class.
Levens is a really cool and laid back guy and makes the material as easy as he can so by all means, if you need to take this class take it with him. But I just could never get a grasp on the material and it all turned into one big gpa killer for me
Dr. Levens is a pretty cool guy. If you pay attention in class studying will be a breeze. He's very funny and relaxed. Doesn't take attendance. Refers to things on a level that will interest college students. 4 major exams. No homework. I recommend going to study sessions with the SI leader before exams to brush up on your knowledge.
He is a cool teacher who explains all the material well but the test are mostly short answer which can be annoying. The class is pretty easy and interesting, not boring at all. He takes attendance. Don't buy the book.
Levens is one of my favorite professors and makes me want to take more psychology courses. He is funny. You can make great grades reading the case studies the quizzes are on and studying his powerpoints. He also genuinely cares about his students. He is very interactive, even in huge lecture classes.
You don't REALLY need the book unless you want it to supplement your notes. He posts all his power points on blackboard and gives study guides. Not a boring lecturer! Makes class funny, you really don't have to go but it makes tests easier. Quizzes online, exam not cumulative.
good teacher. interesting class. not too difficult. everything is online. plus he's hot.
good teacher, fun class, interesting. plus he's very good looking.
The best professor I've ever had! Dr. Levens loves what he's teaching and he makes the class more interesting. I don't recommend buying the book because we never used it. Definitely take him as a professor if you can; it'll be worth it!
Extremely good looking. Doesn't grade too harshly on tests but you need to know what you're talking about. The papers are pretty annoying. Homework is easy. He learns everyones names which is pretty interesting. Don't take him if you want an easy class. Cool guy, did I mention he's hot?
This was one of the best classes I've taken on this campus. Professor Levens makes the course interesting and likes to joke and have fun. He makes the information easy to learn, and you really don't need the book. He posts the slides online and gives a study guide for the tests. The only book you really need is the Hock readings book. TAKE HIM!!
TAKE THIS CLASS. Dr. Levens is an awesome guy and makes the class interesting and enjoyable. Quizzes are online and easy, tests are fine as long as you study the power point slides and read some in the book. I was borderline A/B before the final and ended up with an A. So worth it!
Great teacher. Covered the material well and delivered very fair tests. I recommend this professor to anyone who needs the credit.
Great teacher, makes class very interesting even though it's a boring topic. Is very clear and is open to discussion. Don't need a book and don't worry if you miss class once in awhile. Just do the homework and look over the notes before the tests. One of the best professors I've ever had.
I LOVED HIM. Not only is he funny, helpful, and a good teacher but his class is meaningful and interesting. His tests can be kind of tricky, but I learned a lot and really enjoyed him.
Prof Levens is really awesome! He keeps you interested and makes the class fun. He is actually really cute too. The textbook isn't used as much in the class but there is a lot of information to be taught in class. Take his classes!!!
Dr. Levens is a great guy. I took him in a lecture hall class and many of the kids skipped class and still did fine. He posts his lecture notes online to help study but I still went to class and took my own notes. Your grade rests on 4 tests and 4 quizzes which is a little scary but if you do your fair share of studying you'll be fine
Nice professor, was still figuring out the class when I took it. Attendance mandatory, participation, writing assignments, tests, and group presentations were frequent. Clear grading criteria. Low interest in subject but liked the way the class was conducted.
I love Levens! He makes psychology really interesting. If you show up, take notes and study you will make a good grade. He also lets you get extra credit from participating in studies which can bring your grade up a whole letter grade! He is also really funny and personable. Definitely recommend!
He made this class so interesting! I really liked him. He knows what he is talking about and the tests are not too bad. He posts his lectures online which is very helpful.
very good teacher, he doesn't take attendance and you barely need the book for this class. the lectures are very interesting but the class is not very easy. If you attend class and go to some SI section you can get a good grade.
Dr. Levens is Awesome, his classes are by no means a piece of cake but if you put forth the effort, you'll get the grade you deserve. He's very engaging and makes class interesting and fun.
Such an outstanding professor! He had really amazing lectures and kept class interesting using lots of examples and jokes. I found it very easy to pay attention and actively learn in this class. TAKE LEVENS!! He will inspire you to find the love of learning whether you are a psychology major or not.
Content is very interesting and Levens makes the lectures fun with videos and diagrams. Tests are multiple choice, which makes it tricky and can be hard to score. But he's a cool guy, always ready to help. Plus, he posts his lectures online, and tests are taken from there.
Levens is an awesome professor. His class isn't mandatory and he puts all his notes online. You can basically teach yourself psych 110 in general but his class makes it even easier. his tests are really straight forward and he's hilarious. Even though going to class isn't required, it's still fun honestly. His quizzes are really easy and online.
I'm a psychology major interested in going into clinical psychology so I was not excited about having to take research methods in the least bit but Dr. Levens made it so much better. Went to every class. Tried to use the book for the first test but it was more difficult than his notes which he puts online with study guide and answers. Awesome class
He is a great teacher, and super funny. If you show up and talk to him, he's really receptive and remembers you. I sent him an email 2 semesters later and he still remembered me because I sat front row. He makes it so easy to pass by giving you all the notes for the tests and making the papers super self-explanatory, as well as office hours.
Many people enjoyed having Levens as a professor, which is why I chose him this semester. Unfortunately, I completely regret my decision and wish I chose an easier professor. If you want an easy A, I recommend taking a different professor. If you want to learn something, then take him ,but you probably won't get the easy A you were hoping for.
You will learn a lot from him, but it's hard to man an A in his class....
Really fun class; really knows his stuff. Would take him again.
Dr. Levens is a nice teacher, but the material for this class was very difficult. He's very approachable and is willing to help, but making a B or above in his classes is challenging. You will learn a lot from him, but you're going to have to study religiously to get a decent grade.
I liked him. He gave lots of help, did a lot of review in class, and worked to keep a boring subject interesting. It wasn't a super easy class, but it was a good class.
Dr. Levens is a great professor to take for 226. 1010. 2 Exams, 2 papers, a few homeworks, and a final. I barely opened up the textbook except to check concepts before the tests. Gives specific study guides that have everything he would possibly ask. This is a super straight-forward class.
The class itself is pretty dull, however Professor Levens makes lecture a lot more bearable. He's a really funny guy, but at the same time he's very insightful on the information covered. I would definitely recommend him.
Dr. Levens is awesome! HE gives great lectures with lots of examples to help you understand. The only thing that is a pain is the Sniffy hw assignments but there are very few.
Second time taking his class. He is probably one of the best psychology professors I've had in college. His lectures are worth going to although it's not mandatory. He gives easy discussion papers to pull up your grade. His tests are difficult but not impossible; you will need to study. It's not an easy class, but you will learn a lot from it.
Dr. Levens is an amazing professor. His lectures are very engaging and interesting. This was my favorite class this semester and I'm not even a psych major. The reading is optional, but I wanted to read it because it was so interesting. He's an easy grader, and there's two long essay tests, two group projects, and several reaction papers.
Very funny! Good guy!
Research methods isn't the most interesting of topics, however Dr. Levens makes it bearable to sit through class. He's funny and his exams are easy as long as you study the material! Therefore if you're there for an easy A, you should drop before it counts because you'll need to work hard for that A.
5 HW assignments, 3 exams (including the final), and 2 papers. Go to class and take good notes and you'll be good to go.
Levens makes psychology so much fun to learn. He has amazing lectures and is hilarious. 3 exams including the final that isn't cumulative, only 3 homework assignments. He's very interesting and an amazing professor.
Dr. Levens was an awesome professor. His lectures are usually pretty interesting, despite the sometimes boring material he has to cover, and he makes jokes and tells stories to make the material relevant. I highly recommend him for psych 101. I'll definitely take him again in future psych courses.
He made classes interesting. Not any homework except for 4 online quizzes which weren't long. Tests were easy if you put in time to study and attend class.
Only 4 tests.. final isn't cumulative. Very fast grader. You will need to go to class and study for the tests, or you won't pass. Make sure to keep up with the readings he assigns.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. You need to go to class to have any hope of doing well but if you go and do the work you will do well.
Was a really great 101 professor! Sitting front row with a big lecture class helps too
Dr. Levens is very helpful, but his lectures can get boring. There are 5 homeworks, 2 papers, and 3 tests. Attendance is required. You don't need the book, but you do need to take good notes to pass. He puts the power points online. The tests are almost completely open answer and can be difficult.
Great professor. His lectures were always interesting. I was never interested in phycology until I listened to him speak passionately about it. I started to enjoy the subject more as a whole because of him. This is not an "Easy A" class if that's what you are looking for. You need to work for your grade.
Dr Levens is one of my favorite professors I've had so far at USC! His tests (50 MC questions) are straight forward from the powerpoints he posts online, and attendance is not mandatory, but it helps if you go to class to hear him explain different concepts. He is hilarious and incorporates fun exercises to explain concepts- highly recommend!!
Great professor wish I could have taken more of his classes.
Dr. Levens was super chill. Tests are actually essays and based on your opinions. It's not really necessary to take notes in class, he posts all the powerpoints. There are lots of readings, but not much work based off of them. There are a few easy group projects. Make sure you participate or he'll think you're super shy.
Such a fun guy with a lot of knowledge in his field. His intelligence shows in how he delivers content---breaks it down and boils it into memorable information. Also, willing to work with you on questions! If you have the chance take his class you won't regret it.
All you have to do is study the power point slides he shows in class. The book he tells you to read won't help your grades on the tests. All I did was copy down the lecture slides and then spend a day before studying flashcards and made A's. He also offers extra credit by participating in a psych survey / experiment that other psych classes do.
Levels is the best professor to have for psych 101. Tests are relatively easy if you just read your notes and he makes psychology interesting- you can tell he is passionate about it. Don't buy textbook, never opened mine. He gives a few online quizzes, but other than that no homework. Really enjoyed this class!!
One of the easiest class I've taken and one of the coolest professors I've had! Would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Levens. He'll occasionally throw in some test questions about in class videos, so going to class is a good idea and it's not boring so it's worth it. Plus he's really funny and makes a lot of corny jokes. Great professor and great guy!
Dr. Levens is great and the class is a breeze. He is funny and really cares about making psychology interesting for his students. The class is easy and the study guides giver you everything you need to know. Memorization and common sense class but loved it none the less. Levens is definitely worth it!
He is awesome- if I get the chance to take another course taught by him I'm definitely going to take it. It's pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class and study using the study guides he gives, and I personally really enjoyed his lectures so it wasn't that hard to pay attention. Attendance isn't mandatory but it definitely helps a lot.
Dr. Levens is a great professor. I have taken him twice now and each time I have actually learned something in his class. He said the book was mandatory, but I didn't use it and still did well on his tests. The key to doing well is studying the slides and doing the study guides.
Dr. Levens is great. His class was discussion-based and it's awkward if no one interacts. We had one test and a final. The "tests" were three essays on three different topics. You NEED to start these early because they take a while to write. If you put the effort into the paper though, you'll get a good grade. The presentations were simple!
Definitely a professor I will try to take again. He makes psychology super interesting and tells stories of things he has come across during his career. The final exam is not cumulative. Pay attention and attend SI sessions to clear up concepts and you should do awesome. Take him if you can!!!
Really nice guy and makes lectures interesting. The information seems easy but make sure to study because the tests can have curveballs. Also although attendance isn't mandatory I highly recommend going to all classes because he focuses on the important stuff that will be on the tests.
He is one of the best teachers I have every had. He makes you interested in what he is teaching about during lectures and also makes it related to college kids too. 10/10 would take him again. Attendance isn't mandatory but I went just for a laid-back class and a laugh too. Best psych teacher to take
Dr. Levens made Psychology interesting, even the boring parts. He's a great lecturer and gets the whole class involved. If you go to class, you'll get a better grade than if you don't go. He puts the presentations on Blackboard for those who don't go.
Dr. Levens is the coolest. Pay attention in class. No need to buy the textbook, but if he says to buy a book on case studies or something do it! Those are what the quizzes are on. Super friendly and hilarious; really knowledgeable of the subject. He's super fun and makes psych really enjoyable
He's very funny and keeps things entertaining and tries to get his students involved. Attendance is not mandatory but he usually plays videos in class that he asks abt on tests so I recommend going. The textbook is not necessary bc all the information is on his PowerPoints which he posts online. I definitely recommend him as a teacher :)
Dr. Levens was one of the best professors i've had at USC. It is important that you don't just rely on the ppt slides to study. You should write notes and examples during lecture. I also recommend studying in a way that will allow you to answer short answer questions. That is the majority of the test. Do not buy the book.
Dr. Levens was a fantastic professor. He made every single lecture fun and interesting, and had a good way of explaining the material so that we could understand. Lectures are not mandatory to attend but I recommend attending just because they are interesting. Do not buy the textbook for this class! You only need to buy the little book.
Good teacher, take him if you need to take Psych101. Entertaining lectures, he adds his own (good) sense of humor to it. You can skip class if you want, he puts the notes online. Three tests, study his notes and you're fine. Don't need the books
He's the best!! he doesn't take attendance but I went to every class just because he made it so interesting and entertaining. he definitely gets along with his students. don't buy textbook- he puts all his notes on blackboard. if you study for your exams then those should be pretty easy. i would take him again for sure. TA was very nice too
Dr. Levens is AWESOME!!! His class is super interesting and he makes the complex topics easy to understand and super cool. The man knows his psychology and he makes the intro class that I took for requirement fulfillment my favorite class. He doesn't take attendance and you only have like 4 large assignments all semester. Take Honors PSYC101 w him.
Levens is an awesome professor. Tests were based on lecture notes and specifics that he made sure to mention from the textbook. He always includes comprehensive study guides and quizzes to help you prepare for exams. Not a lot of busywork and makes the class interesting. Attendance is not mandatory and he is also hilarious.
Dr. Levens was a great professor. He always made class extremely interesting and gave great lectures. Attendance was not mandatory but did help because his powerpoint slides dont make a ton of sense without his lecture. Honors section had no tests, just a lot of papers, but he was a lenient grader. The only hard papers were the midterm and final.
He doesn't care about students, just making sure that the syllabus on schedule.
levens is an actual angel sent from above. he is so kind and caring and funny. he tries hard to make the class interesting and engages with students a ton. attendance isnt mandatory but you should go to class because he asks Q's about stuff he specifically said in lecture. he posts the slides but they dont make sense on their own. he is the best
Levens is great. He makes class interesting for being all lectures. Attendance isn't recorded at all but going to class def helps with exams. Your only grades are 3 exams and 3 quizzes. The quizzes are open notes, online - but the exams aren't super easy, but not a burden (SI Sessions help)
Attendance is optional, but I highly recommend going because some things discussed in class are going to be on the exams and sometimes he'll give extra credit just for being there. All notes are posted on Blackboard, but again, his lectures are super enjoyable and he jokes around a lot of times. 10/10
Dr. Levens is one of the best professors I've had so far. He's so funny, and he makes learning psychology fun! The honors section of this course is paper heavy, but it's not too bad because he'll prepare you well with what you need to know. His class was super interesting, and I'd take him again in a heartbeat.
Awesome guy, hilarious and really interesting. He told us we were going to switch majors after his class and he was right.
I love Dr. Levens! His lectures are interesting, he's funny, he explains everything thoroughly and I highly recommend taking his class
he isn't s good as everyone says. it is straight lecture everyday and makes the test really hard to "show students psych isn't a easy subject"
He makes lectures interesting and is really funny in class. Doesnt take attendance but you still need to go. His tests are very hard, even though he gives a study guide.
Levens was a good professor. For an intro level class he does make his lectures interesting and somewhat funny. His class though is basically based on 3 exams and a final. If you don't do well on the exams you're not going to do well in the class. You really need to study for the exams because he does make them hard.
Dr. Levens is extremely funny and entertaining. Not too many grades but as long as you take good notes and study them well youll do fine.
All he does is lecture and then you are expected to learn it. He is not that interesting and his test are very hard. All of his test are concepts and not just what's on the notes. There are a lot easier of psych professors at USC
Not your usual psychology class - no memorization, lots of writing assignments. Didn't really use the textbook. Exams are take-home essay questions; you have a long time to do the research but they're a lot of work. Major group project you work on all semester. But lectures are interesting, and Dr. Levens is helpful and a pretty lenient grader.
I really dont understand the high ratings. This class was way harder than it should have been with super hard tests and dry lectures. It was probably the worst class Ive ever taken in college so far. He also wants to let you know that he hates the former President. My organic chemistry class was more manageable than this one. Take someone else!
Besides being a bit cocky, Dr. Levens is a very intelligent and humorous man. I really enjoyed his lectures, but didn't go to all of them since he posts the slides and does not take attendance. Despite this, his exams are relatively difficult, so be sure to study and take advantage of the extra credit.
His lectures are interesting, and he gives study guides for exams. I skipped class a lot and did okay, managed to maintain an A. He's a nice guy and he makes the material relatable to you. Far from boring.
Dr. Neil keeps the lectures interesting. If you attend class you are sure to succeed in the class. He gives study guides which match the test before each and the answers to the study guides are in the lecture notes. The class is interesting and the experiment videos and stories make everything easy to remember. He gives extra credit; lots. TAKE HIM
Overall good professor and has interesting lectures. Homework is easy and a great grade booster. Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend going because he asks a lot of questions on his exams specific to things he's said/done in class. Also make sure to take detailed notes because the ones he posts are not specific enough.
He is an amazing professor! It is an interesting class and you use the material that you learn in the class. Only a few papers and very few lectures. Hands on professor. One of my favorite classes in college.
He is a nice guy but can make it extremely difficult to pass the class. He makes the class completely exam based and they are not easy. Most of my classmates, including me would study for hours using the study guide he provided and we would still fail. The other grades he gives barely do anything for your grade. I was a all A/B student till now.
TAKE ANY OTHER PSYCH CREDIT OR CLASS. The exams can ether destroy you or help you. The final is cumulative…. There is 4 exams and they are worth 60pt,90pt,90pt,(final)120pt. The quizzes are 10pt & paper 20pt. Exams taken in class. No matter how much you study it’s like the exam is a whole other language.
Don't get me wrong, he is hilarious and a great professor but his exams are so hard. You could get 100s on the quizzes and homework but still do terrible on the exam. I study day and night for his exams and it seems impossible to get a good grade.
Dr. Leven's is an amazing professor. His lectures make learning fun and he is very funny. He gives you lots of grades and extra credit opportunities to cushion your grade. His exams are a little more difficult but gives you a study guide and makes the power points available. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it helps. I definitely recommend him!
Had Levens for psych 101 and enjoyed it all year.
I really liked this class, Levens is a lot of fun and his lectures are super interesting. You do have to buy the online textbook, and there are quizzes within that textbook but it's pretty easy to get good grades on them. Tests are easy if you know the material and put some work into studying.
Levens is such a great professor. His lectures are super fun and easy to pay attention to, but the tests can be tough. Definitely would recommend him.
Great professor. Such a nice guy and enjoyed his lectures. Exams are really not that difficult at all. This class was the least of my priorities and I made at least a B on every exam. Extra credit and the quizzes you can find online. Attendance isn't mandatory. He posts his powerpoints so if you miss class you'll be fine no matter what.
Best psych professor u could take! I thought psych would be an easy A, but u actually have to work for it. He has the absolute best lectures ever & his exams are never too hard or unrelated to lecture. Attendance not necessary but helps to go so u hear lecture & remember it more. He makes psych interesting to someone that has NEVER liked it.
Quizzes are online and extremely easy. Tests are related to lecture material and quiz material. He makes study guides for exams which are basically the exam. Funny and relatable guy that really wants his students to succeed. I'd recommend to anyone
I loved this class. It was super easy the quizzes and assignments were all online however the exams are in person paper and pencil. They are not difficult at all as long as you listen to the lectures and follow along which is not hard because he keeps it very entertaining!
Dr. Levens is a great professor, he is very funny and keeps the class entertained. His lectures are interesting, but the material is tuff. This class is no walk in the park; the exams are pretty difficult, so you have to study a good bit. 5 quizzed, three exams, three papers, and a final.
I wasn't really sure what to expect in an intro psych class, but Dr. Levens made the class truly enjoyable. He got to know each student and always made sure his lectures have real life applications. If you have the ability to take the honors section, I would highly recommend it! Also- you really don't need the textbook, you can find it online.
Dr. Levens is funny and makes his lectures interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but you should show up because some of the stuff he shows in class (videos, articles) appear on the exams. He offers extra credit opportunities and the exams/quizzes are not terrible difficult. Just pay attention and take notes
The exams were a little bit difficult if you didn't study properly, but the class itself was pretty easy. He made class super entertaining as well, and I never really found myself bored. The Pearson assignments were pretty much free credit if you did them!
Dr. Levens is a really great professor. His lectures are very interesting and the homework is all in an online textbook. To do well in the class, you'll need to buy 2 textbooks. I would totally take another class from him, very interesting guy!
Dr. Levens is absolutely hilarious and an overall great professor. Attendance wasn't counted but he gives super entertaining lectures and plays videos that show up on the exam. The online textbook reading was a lot but you could honestly find the answers on Quizlet. Exams are tricky but the questions for the most part come straight from the notes.
Dr. Levens is by far my favorite professor. Lectures are simple bc he elaborates on topics. Has visuals, personal experience, and lots of knowledge on psychology. He cares about his students and will listen to you ask questions during office hours. Highly recommend this professor, could never go wrong.
I honestly did not attend this class much because it was early and attendance was not mandatory but when I did I really enjoyed Dr. Levens lectures. He was really funny and knew a lot about the topics he covered. The material is not easy and there is a lot of studying involved but if you go through his lectures and the texbtook you will be fine.
this man is so silly I loved him so much. he's really funny and actually cares about teaching. attendance wasn't mandatory even though the syllabus said it was. exams can be hard if you don't go to class since a few questions are about videos and lectures that were only discussed in class. there were a lot of online quizzes but just use quizlet!
Professor Levens' PSYC101 class is a blast! He's a super engaging lecturer who really brings the material to life. While the exams can be challenging, using resources like the textbook, Unstuck AI, and attending office hours makes it manageable. Definitely worth taking this class!
This professor is very intelligent, but if you're looking for a comprehensive learning experience please don't take him. (you end up teaching yourself the material) - Don't be fooled by the rating.
Exams were difficult, his lectures were long and dull, and there was a lot of homework, but most of them were not graded on the Pearson Revel website.
Worst class ive ever taken and he is extremely arogant and rude. To make anything over a c+ you have to atleast put in 6-10 hours a week studying. class average was a C+. Ruined my semester
Lecture heavy, but I actually enjoyed his most of his lectures. There are 1-2 quizzes to complete almost every week, but are very easy to do. Exams aren't easy but if you attend class and study basically everyday you can do good.
His lectures were very interesting and he is a funny guy but his exams are in person on paper, based on small things he says in class, and questions tend to be worded much differently than the SI's questions. He doesn't take attendance, but a lot of examples used in class are used on the exams. He kept us engaged but his exams weren't the easiest.
Funny af, and a nice guy, def taking one of his classes again
