Study notes ahead of time bc there is alot of notes very detailed but easy plus he give extra credit for just attending class... i would him a bit boring some times dont know why i would just get very sleepy but just make sure u study notes...

He cares about his students. This guy truly cares. He is one of the nicest professors I've had. He types up a great set of notes for evry chpt for you, his lectures are clear and his tests are fair. He is very down to earth (call him Neil, not prof) and extremely knowledgable. Highly recommend him!

I found this class to be unintimidating, considering that I was coming back to college after a long break. Neil makes the class interesting and you want to learn the material. He gives you a copy of his notes to study from but you also have to take your own. He's very down to earth. I would recommend him to everyone, he's a good teacher.

This is a very nice prof. And he is really helpful. His test are base on notes and lecture which straight forward. He is funny and really knows what he is talking about. He gaves hints what will be on the test. I would highly recommend this prof to anyone.

If you are really interested in science you'll learn a lot, BUT beware his tests are EXTREMLY HARD. Be prepared to study for HOURS before each test. FYI I didn't even pass one of his pop quizzes. I agree with the other students: don't take him if you work or have a life!

Every prof in BCC knows about this site! I have written great reviews about Neil and know others who love him as much as I do. He cares, he's so intelligent and makes you actually learn! no student in college registers wants to pay from financial aid or through there pockets for a class that they are going to fail. This class is not that hard but his reviews are not relevant to the test. so that smart comment below is nonsense we write the comments to warn future students. if the majority of a class does not pass its a problem.

Wonderful professor. Its not that he is hard, ithe material is. He emails all the lecture notes, then when you go to class he further explains the material. If you study the notes you will pass with a high B or an A. We need more teachers like professor Mulchan. Take his class you will learn alot. Great guy. Always helpful, most times in his office

Great professor. he emails the notes for the chapters to your bcc email, then he explains them in the classroom, and also explains contents from the book as well. so, he goes over everything and will answer every question you have. he makes the class very interesting too by giving you real life examples of everything he talks about. he has passion.

I absolutely hate science and find no reason in learning it but after taking his class i found a new appreciation for it. he's very passionate about what he teaches which makes it interesting. you really learn with him. great in explaining and giving examples. show up and memorize your material for tests and you'll be good.

Excellent Prof To pass this class you must study hard! His exams can be tricky but if you study there is no way to fail! Study everything in the notes (even details/percentages) and you will do good. Ask questions, he answers every question if you do not understand, and need more clarification. You must study to pass this class! No Slackers Allowed

Super cool guy and YOUNG. He knows his material very well and LOVES to explain if you don't understand. His tests are hard so you must look at your notes at least 3x a week in order to pass with a decent grade. He offers extra credit like field trips and pop quizzes. I HIGHLY recommend this professor!

EXCELLENT TEACHER. Tests are very easy, just read his notes and pay attention in class. He is very passionate by his subject which makes it easy and enjoyable to attend his class. Very Smart Professor, the BEST you'll ever have! Does not carry a suitcase with class material, he carries it in his brain and on a CD. Loves to teach, helps and understands students. Neil knows his stuff, he really does. He is smart and he has been everywhere. He has his study guides available the book is only used as a guide. Study really hard, his class may seem like a breeze but you have to study or you will get to the test and go blank. Start to study as soon as you start the first class. He's a VERY kool teacher! I made an A in his course. Curves grades sometimes & usually gives extra credit up to almost 2 whole letter grades! Relaxed and you can pass his class just by attending and taking notes.

Neil (he goes by first name) definitely knows his stuff and gladly shares his knowledge. He assigns homework, but he never collected it in my class. His tests are reasonable but if you don't pay attention and don't do the homework problems, you will fail them. He gives plenty of extra-credit opportunity and grades on a curve.

I do not recommend this teacher if you have a full schedule. It is a lot of information. Test are multiple choice but it is 50 questions. It is hard to prepare, so much information. I did not like this class at all. After all I got B.

Great, casual guy. You don't need to buy any book, he gives you notes to print out. Study and Read EVERY word, his tests will cover it all. Don't ever come late. He gives extra credit, sometimes involving field trips. If you ever wanted to learn how life works then this is the class for you.

He is bad ass!!! Gives you what he calls a "text book" but is just like 10 pages that he printed out for you. He basically takes the notes for you and you just have to listen to his lectures to make sure you understand everything. Gives a lot of extra credit which is a plus, and if he's in a good mood will also give you open notes tests!!! :)

So I had him for physics and it was the hardest class I've taken by far. He's a guy nice and his lectures are interesting but the tests are difficult even after studying a lot. He offered help in his office and extra credit though, nothing against him I guess it was just this subject material. I'd probably take him for other subjects

He makes it very easy to pass. He even emails you a study guide that has all of the information that you need so you don't have to buy the book if you don't want to. He gives a lot of extra credit. He is always very happy to help if you don't understand something. Good sense of humor, but DON"T BE LATE. He is very strict about punctuality.

Pretty easy class. First test is open notes. The other two aren't. He gives us a packet with all the notes for the semester. No textbook & no classwork. Lol his tests are not hard at all. People seem to think because you read something over, you've studied. He gives you reviews for each test, and it tells you exactly what you must know. There's no more than 16 key points---just memorize them. There are three tests, and oppurtunities to get 30 points extra credit---take advantage. No book either.

So glad I took Astronomy with Neil. he is the best ever and you learn so much. TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Professor Mulchan is a very intellectual, caring professor. I took him for Astronomy. We didn't need the book. He taught the subject very well, and kept us awake, which is something a lot of professor's can't do now a days. Like any other class, in order to receive a good grade, you must STUDY. This is not high school anymore. I anticipate an A. :)

He is a cool guy and straight to the point, interesting class. He bases your entire grade off of 3 tests+xtra credit but he lets you use the study guide he gives you in the beginning which is your "text book" and any notes you write down so you should be able to pass the tests easily with A's or B's. BUT DO take notes during lectures for the test!

Take his class... you won't regret it. Just show up everyday and take good notes during his lectures. Do NOT buy the book; he will ask you to return it, as his notes he emails at the beginning of class will be the study guide. Make sure you do the written assignment and at least try to do the extra credit; it may bump up your grade for the class.

No regrets. Actually teaches matial thouroughly and gives exaples beyond the material for better understanding. WOW! This class was great! Do not buy the textbook. All test questions come from notes. Dr. Mulchan explains astronomy in a real world way, so you really understand the vastness of space. Neil is not your typical "stuffy" professor type; he has a relaxed style of teaching that is unpretentious. However, he seems to know everything about the world in which we live. He provides you with the tools to pass, you just have to do your part! Every class was an adventure into the mysteries of our great planet. I enjoyed immensely! He's A+++

AST1003. My finall AA class at BB and Neil is by far the coolest prof; fun, enlightening and interesting; He has a gift for teaching, though he doesn't think so. No book, he gives notes that is used while testing. Although this class was easy, I learned much about the universe around us, and how our ultimate demise...lol every class is about doom

Neil (NOT Niel- he was named after Armstrong and not Bohr)is VERY smart which sometimes makes the material he covers to appear easier than it actually is. If he is not 'easy' it is because the material isn't easy. Be prepared to put in hours of daily study to keep up with PHY2048-that is what it takes. Extra credits can give another letter grade.

Second semester physics is very hard, regardless of the teacher. Neil is smart, well prepared and clear in his explanations. Tests are hard, but so is the material. This is not a cruise-by class-many hours of hard work per week are needed. Extra credit helps about one letter grade. You must also read the book and do extra problems to make it.

This class has only 3 tests that you can use notes on but trust me it's a lot harder than it seems he offers a lot of extra credit but most of the times it's out of town trips which is a hassle,teaching wise, he is a natural,his lectures are colorful and never boring,I just wished he gave more assignments

By far the smartest human being i've ever met. He teaches from knowledge and you can ask him about nearly anything and he'll know about it and make you understand it. Always had a blast seeing the amazing places he's been too. Great class, be there, don't sleep or text, and study and you should do good. Wish I could've taken more of his classes!

This guy is by far the smartest human being who has ever lived. Seriously he knows everything. I thought his class was easy, 80 percent of students passed and of that 80 something like 70 percent were As. His lectures are more like stories. I took this class at night, once a week, and I was never bored and never wanted to fall asleep. Great Guy.

Neil is a super awesome professor. Really knows his stuff and makes the class interesting. There should be a National Geographic article about him because he's been literally all across the world and likes to share his stories with the class. The tests are easy because he lets students use their notes and there is no homework.

Neil's one of those teacher's that helps you remember why you come to school. Most classes are just lecture, study, & hopefully pass but we never really retain any of the information. God, where do I begin. Neil is the BEST professor I've had so far in BC. Extremely chill, funny, and friendly. Test are open notes, no use for a textbook, this class was just heaven on earth. Neil was a very amazing teacher. Every lecture was mind-blowing. His tests are all easy and open notes. There was one group project but it was simple. He will never assign homework. The only thing about him is no phones but if you heard his lecture you wouldn't want to be on your phone. He offers field trips for extra credit! Definitely take Neil!

My whole life I hated Science and every science related class I've ever taken until I took this professor, he had the most amazing, mind boggling lectures and would go into detail and explain everything. He lets you use every piece of notes on the tests and offers a lot of extra credit. He truly opened my mind to want to learn more about science.

Neil (not prof mulchan) is great! Lectures are inquisitive and inspiring. He shares life experience to bring subjects to light. He is attractive but very professional when people can be annoying and go off task. Tests are open note open book but you don't need the book. I'm looking to take him for physics although I hear he is MUCH harder.

His lectures are amazing! He has a way of ending the class that leaves you mind blown. His lectures go into a lot of depth & u should take extensive notes. Don't miss class. The books are open notes/book though I don't recommend buying the book you don't need it for anything else. There's 1 presentation and 3 exams. Extra credit community service.

What an amazing Professor! Extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession. This was the most challenging class I've ever taken, but the pay off was how much new knowledge I've gained. I've lost a lot of sleep, but that's why I'm here! I highly recommend Dr. Mulchan if you want to learn anything and are willing to work for it.

Fantastic class! Multiple choice exams, no final, and a great professor! He's very energetic, and gives amazingly interesting lectures! Highly recommended!

His lectures are forever life changing! He is amazing!! NO homework; Already has a study guide ready for you-- THAT'S ALL you need. His lectures are beyond interesting! he doesn't lecture like a "normal" prof. He puts up a photo on the screen and basically talks about it- Almost like having a conversation with you! Neil is a very interesting professor, his lectures are very inspirational and come straight from his mind. The only thing I did not like about this class is you don't have much opportunity for grades. Just 3 exams and thats it, and the extra credits are not really worth much. The class is fairly easy just show up and don't miss the exams.

Neil is an amazing professor , he is so smart and full of passion every lesson. His lectures are captivating, just make sure you take careful notes because he lets you use them on tests. There are only 3 tests all semester so you cant mess them up . He doesn' require the purchase of a book which is great. If you get the chance to take him do it !

professor Neil is great and very knowledgeable with Astronomy. I learned many knew things with him. He is tough on attendance, no cell phone visible and class participation. Professor Neil is very approachable, but be sure to ask a clear question. Great class!!

Wants you to improve and If he sees that you are putting long hours of studying you will pass. Physics is not a easy subject. This class changed my life. Also, You will see at the beginning how difficult this class is but try your hardest to not drop out.

You will leave his class questioning life. There are 3 tests, all open notes. He is tough on attendance, if you walk in 5 seconds after he called your name you will be marked absent. He takes points off for each absence so if you are late often do not take this class. other than attendance this class is an easy A

Challenging material but learnt A LOT! Not an easy class, but that tends to happen when you take Physics with Calculus! He does many worked examples in class so that helps with the application of the lecture material. He's also got a great sense of humor and is well travelled to all 7 Continents so that makes for some very entertaining stories!

THANK YOU Professor Mulchan for a great semester! Your class was truly an inspiration. I'm now officially done at Broward College and off to Georgia Tech. You were by far the best Professor I had at Broward. You fostered a calm, relaxed classroom atmosphere and always made yourself readily available the many times I needed help with the material.

What a great class! Great guy. Very casual and easy-going which made it comfortable for everyone in class to ask a lot of questions. He knows Astronomy like no one else. Provides multiple opportunities to earn extra credit, like Field Trips & Volunteer work. He's strick on attendance. I definitely recommend him!!!
