Best instructor ever had, period.

Best class ever! You honestly learn so much, and Neil is the funniest guy I've ever met! He is so intelligent and it truly shows in his lectures!

Knows his material very well and explained through wisdom and understanding that was very straightforward, almost as though talking to a friend about a past experience. I took one of this three hour classes, so be prepared to go all the way up to the three hour mark. Other than that, very easy teacher. If you show up and take good notes, you'll do fine. He has "quizzy things" which you literally write your name on a paper, and turn that in. Only trouble i had is the info itself, it gets very confusing. (bio psych)

He is a sweet person! He is very very helpful and he knows what he is talking about. He always has a positive attitude and he always answers your questions. He makes sure that the class doesn't feel confused. There are a lot of small quizzes but they are based off of the lecture. You do have to read the book and it's a lot of information to grasp.

He can talk for the whole class time, no problem but he is NOT boring! He gives pop quizzes in the middle of lecture on what you've talked about THAT class period and they're super easy. Take thorough notes and just review those for an easy A, he relays topics very clear! Tests are easy and theres 1 paper that you work on all semester! TAKE HIM!!!

He is hilarious and he doesn't teach you things you don't need to know. Pretty forward class as long as you show up to lecture and read your chapters. Overall, he's a cool guy and the class was interesting and easy.

Walker's class is beyond easy. PowerPoints are online & he gives study guides that cover the EXACT material on the test. You don't even need to go to class, but you lose points for each day you don't show up. Not going will hurt your grade. I never used the textbook once. He'll answer any questions you have.

I loved this professor! He made all of his lectures very interesting no matter how long they were. He is also super funny! I honestly never needed my book because he would cover everything on his power points. I would absolutely recommend him!

Very easy course. Kind of worried though since need to take advance neuroscience and I don't feel adequately prepared by his teachings. Easy course just beware it may bite you in the future.

He is one of the best teachers i have had a COC. His lectures were long, but that is bc i took his class over summer and he you don't even need to use a textbook. He is funny and keeps his lectures entertaining so his class isn't that boring. Also, his tests are exactly like his powerpoints

Easiest, and best professor yet! No extra credit but its not necessary. Gives study guides for every chapter, and covers ever tested subject in his lecture. Pay attention & you'll never need the textbook. Very dorky and entertaining teacher If you ask questions about a subject, he will tell you exactly what part of the infer will be on the test

This is a super easy class. As long as you sit down and read (or even just skim thru) the chapters, you'll get a good grade on the tests. I took short term class so we had tests every Thursday, but it was easy. Just take notes on his slides and read the chapters. It's not that much of reading, but it was actually interesting. I ended up with an A!

such an easy A. the tests are literally the study guides and the one paper he assigns if u basically turn it in on time you get 100% which makes it an easy 250pts. he is by far the most laidback not strict in any way professor I've ever encountered. print out the studyguides b4 class and do them in class instead of taking notes, trust me

The best psych teacher ive ever taken. he is hilarious and is very logical about the discussions and amount of homework. you wont get bored in class and he is very approachable if you are having trouble keeping up. he is very understanding. probably my favorite professor this semester

I'm taking this class as a winter semester class, so it's 3+ hours of lecture. But to be honest the lecture is never boring as he is both hilarious and interesting. The class is fairly easy, and I would definitely take any class being taught by him.

Walker is a very understanding teacher, willing to be flexible with tests and quizzes to see what is best for the class. I only took the Intro to Psych class, but he is very knowledgeable and has great stories about the broad subject. The only thing to worry about is the book, you'll need to read to pass the exams because he doesnt touch everything

Neil is a laid back and knowledgable professor. His lectures were never boring and he made all the material easy to understand and grasp. He wants all of his students to pass and I highly recommend printing out his powerpoints for class as they help tremendously with exams.

He was honestly the most funny lecturer I have ever taken. Psychology was a bit boring but he made it really fun with simulations (which he was the star of the show). Pay attention, take notes, you will pass.

Every class is just a lecture, apart from exam days. The book really isn't needed everything you need is in his lectures. He has a "quiz" every class at the end but really its just so he can give you credit for showing up, but these can help your grade a lot so go to class. The quiz is really just your name on a paper. Easy class to pass.

He is super funny and makes the lectures super interesting. I would take this class over and over again. He truly cares that you understand the information, and allows for stories to be told as topics come up. He's amazing! Take his class!

This class was so easy to me. Show up, pay attention to the "ESTERS" (whats going to be on the test) and study them. He grades papers really easily and there isn't much work in this class. I do recommend showing up to the class though, as he gives participation points. Didn't crack my textbook open once though.

This professor really wants his students to succeed. He is very specific about when things are due. He even lets you know what parts of the lectures will be on the test. I totally enjoyed psych 101 thanks to Prof. Walker!

Grade is 5 Exams and pts. to show up and then there are 4 outside assignments. Average was around 86 for all exams. I got the highest 99.5% overall with exceptional study. There are 4 points extra credit. Entertaining and cares a lot about student success. Everyone passed. Hardest exam was first by far. That was the only one I didn't get a perfect.

As long as you show up, pay attention to the lecture and study the ESTR's you'll do extremely well. There is one paper you have to do outside of class, but breaks it into parts so you don't have to do it all at once. I got an A in the class and I didn't even have the textbook. He is super nice and tries to make the lectures interesting.

Neil is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's funny, gives easy participation credit as a booster for grades, is understanding for absences on test days, and is an absolute must-take :) Study what he tells you to and you'll pass his class easily.

If you're taking Professor Walker show up to class and take good notes. Neil gives you assignment quizzes every class that are free points if you show up. He also tells you exactly what parts of the lecture will be on every exam. Neil is a little odd, but very funny. His class was one of my favorites; I definitely recommend him.

He's honestly really easy going, and learning from him was no challenge either. Just print out the power point slides follow along with his lectures, mark down and study what he says will be on the test and you'll do great. One Paper you'll have to write and it isn't too difficult if you understand the study you choose. He's a bit odd but great.

Professor walker is the best psych teacher out there! Very funny man who makes lectures interesting and engaging. Very easy hw and not alot either. Tells you exactly what to take note of during lectures so you know whats on the test. He literally says this "is on the test make note of that" highly recommend very easy and enjoyable class.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. He gives you all the answers to the test so if you pay attention you should do really well. Neil was one of the best professors Ive ever had. His lectures are hilarious and anyone who says otherwise was probably on their phone the whole time. His class is super easy, he basically tells you whats gonna be on the test. Easy A. He also gives free points for attendance, so go to class.

He is such a funny teacher and I can't emphasize enough how he makes learning so fun. I took him for a winter class and all the work was compacted into 4 weeks so the workload was big but as long as you study and write down the RED colored notes and study them, you should do fine. He made a 4 hour Psych class fun and I loved him for it.

Professor Walker is a very charismatic and fun instructor. I'm not entirely sure how he is in other Psych classes, but Psych 101 was one of the most fun courses I've ever taken. Obviously, like any course, if you don't pay attention you won't do great, but as long as you listen to him during lectures, you're pretty much guaranteed a good grade.

Neil Walker has been my favorite teacher at coc. I took his class for pych101 and 102. His lectures are very entertaining and full of humor so they are easy to get through. The class has 5 exams and as long as you study the notes taken in class and the "esters" you will do great. He gives numerous examples relating to the material and is helpful.

Taking professor Neils class was just wonderful. The materials that we learn in psych 102, may be challenging. However, he makes it easy and understandable to us. I loved his class and you should definitely take his classes whenever you have chance to. Youll figure out what Im saying when you take his class. Hes the best and fun!

Neil Walker is the best professor I have had so far at COC. He makes learning the material for the exams easy with the type of notes we take. You only have to do 4 GLA/essays throughout the semester that are super easy and 5 exams. He is a hilarious and great professor and made a 3 hour class interesting the whole time.

Taken as a winter class. Lectures are really informative (and funny) and Professor Walker highlights the necessary terms that will be used on the exams. Exams are straight forward and multiple choice. The two papers you will do are extremely easy (he provides samples). He answers any questions. I would recommend Walker for any COC and AOC students.

walker is the absolute best professor i would definitely take him again. he highlights whats on the test in every slide he has so if you show up you'll do fine. he has occasional essays that are only 1 - 2 pages long on interesting topics so it makes it fun. hes super cool i definitely recommend

Honestly a gem. Neil is funny and knows how to teach and is open to any question or remark. Its important to attend lectures bc he highlights what are on the test and that's the only thing that will show. Honestly even if you dont study and just listen to the lectures its an easy C. Not hard, caring man.

Professor Neil Walker is an amazing teacher. His grading criteria is clear and he gives amazing lectures. I definitely enjoyed learning about the fundamentals of Psychology thanks to Neil. I took his class in Fall 2019. Only reason I got a B+ and not an A was my fault.

Very easy class. Zoom meetings are all recorded so you don´t have to show up for the meetings. 5 exams and one paper and weekly discussion and that´s it. Very easy and I´d take him again.

Funnest professor

Neil is one of the kindest and funniest professors Ive had. Hes very understanding and very clear on what needs to be done in order to pass. I was taking his class when COC transferred to online classes and he made it so easy for us. I 1000000% recommended his class.

Professor Walker gave really engaging, straightforward lectures that didnt have me yawning or wishing class would end. He was very sweet and kind to everyone. He wants you to succeed and understands how hard psych 102 can be. However his exams were not hard. He gives you all the info you need for the exam. I also took his class online.

I loved Walker. His lectures were educational and entertaining, and he is a very understanding and helpful guy. The exams are open note, and there are a few essays throughout the term that I actually found to be enjoyable, since they only had to be about a page and a half long.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! Amazing, interesting lectures. He literally highlights what you'll need to know for the tests. Even though attendance wasn't mandatory, I found myself joining the zoom lectures anyways. He was funny and nice. Sometimes class was only 30 minutes. If you need a PSYCH professor, CHOOSE HIM! This class was incredibly easy.

I definitely would suggest Neil! I love his class, and everything highlighted in red is on the exam. Plus, when you take the exam, it's open notes. Books are not required, you need the printable handout that he gives, and you're set. I wish you well with your college journey!

I highly recommend taking Mr. Walker's class. He is a kind man with a good sense of humor. The work load is not bad at all. Essays only have to be 1-2 pages long and it is based on critical thinking. The exams can be difficult but he highlights the important things during his lectures so it is clear what to study and take notes on.

This course typically has difficult material however he makes it the easiest way possible to retain the information for tests. he has a project that you do throughout the class that is fairly easy and worth alot of points that helps your grade massively. He will never put something on the test he didnt teach you n if he does he removes the question

It was an absolute joy to be taught by Neil. Hes kind, funny, brilliant, and very enthusiastic in his lectures. There are a few exams and one critical thinking essay, but if you pay attention, study, and try your best, you should get along just fine. You wont regret taking this class. Thank you Neil!

Amazing Lectures, easier tests and show up for class review question points.

I loved having Neil as a professor! I had him for both psych 101 and decided to have him again for 102. He is very funny and his lectures are always so interesting and engaging! Just show up to class to get the notes for the exams because they really help. There are review quizzes at the end of each class for points which also do help your grade!

Professor Walker was such an amazing professor. He was enthusiastic and had a great personality. Class was mainly lecture, but he was sure to provide us with key information that would be on the exam. As long as you follow along with the reading and lecture, you'll be sure to pass.

He's an amazing professor! His lectures are really entertaining. All of the things to study are written in red so it makes notes really easy. I would recommend reading the textbook before the test. It's accessible online and free. There were about 3 questions per test that was only in the textbook. I would highly recommend taking him for psych.

Overall Professor Neil was amazing. We had a total of 3 exams and a an essay due right before/after the exam day. All his lectures are clear and whatever is on the test will be in the lecture, so definitely show up to lecture. He lets you have one index card with information on it for the exams. He is a really really amazing professor.

My favorite professors I have ever taken at coc by far! His lectures were engaging and easy to follow along, it felt like I was listening to a podcast! Never had a dull moment in his lectures because he is hilarious and passionate when lecturing. I strongly recommend him, accessible outside of class and is super understanding. A+=never miss class:)

He's genuinely so kind. I was terrified to take this class because I dislike anatomy and have never taken an anatomy class before, but he provides all the answers for exams in his notes and you can use a 3x5 index card on every exam. I enjoy listening to his lectures, he's very outgoing. Ironically, it's an easy class for the subject it is.

The funniest professor at COC. His lectures were informative and entertaining at the same time. He allows an index card for your exams, but you basically don't need it. His exams are solely based off what his lecture slides say, or something he may have said during the lecture. His exams were light (as long as you pay attention) and yeah. Take him!
