He is a very fun teacher to have. I can honestly say that I have never been bored in his class.

Dr. White is very easy. He gives you the notes you need to study for the test and all the questions on the test are on the study guide he gives you. He likes to make people laugh and he likes embarassing people. Never be late for class and dont have your cell phone out. you dont have to attend class everyday, but its easy. i highly reccommend him!

He is definately the best professor at ULM. He makes coming to class fun and the class is super easy if you pay attention. Read the little stories in the chapters of the book and thats all you really need to know from the book all the rest comes from in class. The little projects are really easy and its really just a piece of cake. TAKE HIM!!

Dr. White is awesome! His class has probably been my favorite out of all the classes I have taken. Here are a few tips: Sit up front because it's WAY easier to pay attention and he's less likely to pick fun at you; NEVER be late (he will probably ridicule you for the rest of the semester), and read the little stories in the book. You'll be set!!

Will gladly call you out and take your cell phone if caught using it. Doesn't really teach by the book.

Dr. Neil White is an excellent teacher. He is a very funny person. I would recommend him to anybody that wants a good professor. You should sit in the front rows because it is easier to listen. His class is fun to come to and is not hard. The only thing you have to do is read the short story boxes in the book and he gives you a study guide.

Dr. White's class was very entertaining. He always has funny and interesting stories to tell. This is one class I never wanted to go to sleep in. The only thing about his class is if he doesnt like you then it sucks for you. You'll prob be picked on all semester! Other than that great class!

I really enjoyed Dr. White's class. He was really funny. He did sometimes go over the edge with picking on people, so stay on his good side. When he says to read the book, DO IT! The questions out of the book suck. Other than that his class was great. =)

Dr. White was awesome! He's a really funny guy, and his tests were easy if you just memorized the definitions he gives you in class. The group projects were meant to help you, not hurt you. They count as another test so just make sure you are there when he gives one out. I would definitely take him again for another Sociology class.

Dr. White is a cool proffessor. First day he may come off as a jerk but overall he is pretty funny and will have you laughing EVERY CLASS. Was my favorite class to attend and always made my day after it was over. Would definatly take him for another soc. course. Dr. White's class was defintely a good experience. After taking him, I changed my major to Sociology. His lectures are very good and understandable, and you will also laugh a lot. Im looking forward to more classes with him as my professor.

Dr White's class was definately fun to attend, By far my favorite class to attend this semester. He has a great sense of humor! The downside for me was that I had to purchase the sociology book, which was pretty expensive, and the tests were mostly on lecture.

Wow! He is a great professor! Reading the chapters from the textbook is necessary for 15 questions per exam. The other 45 are from notes and the stories from class. The class will be very large if youre taking 1001, so sit in the front. When the class gets roudy he will speak very low and only the few in the front can hear. My favorite teacher!;)

Great professor - make reading your text a priority for his tests, and show up to class! You my not always agree with every story or opinion, but you will LEARN. Never boring, planning to take his Social Psych class.

Dr. White is a great professor. He keep class interesting and fun. His test come straight from the study guide he gives except for the first 15 questions are from the book. Attendance is required because he gives in class assignments. I would recommend taking him.

I misjudged him at the beginning of the semester like most of his students, he is hands-down the best teacher I had this semester. He spelled out the tests and made learning Sociology fun. I even considered changing my major!

I loved this class. He made jokes all the time to keep the class interested. Just do NOT show up late. make sure to also read the text book chapters for tests. try not to text or he will ask you to put up your "thingy" Very good socl. teacher.

I love his class. At first I thought he was rude but he was the most helpful professor I've ever had. He not only helped me in his class but with real life situations.

Excellent professor. Makes class interesting and you actually pay attention. Jokes a lot but no harm intended. Super cool guy and tests are very easy as long as you pay attention in class and read the captions under the pictures in the chapters. I strongly recommend him for this class. Always be on time or get shamed. No texting at all. Fun guy.

Dr. White is a rite of passage at ULM. Anyone thinking about taking sociology has to take it from him. He engages the class, talks about interesting things, and makes you use your "sociological imagination". Great teacher and as long as you read your book and take notes, the test are fairly easy!

One of my favorites professors at ULM. He seems kind of rude sometimes, but that's just his personality. He's HILARIOUS and keeps class entertained. I never missed a class because I loved it that much. I highly recommend him. His tests are fairly easy if you take notes, read the book, and pay attention in class. He does not like distractions!

There are only 3 tests throughout the entire semester. Choose your seat wisely because he eventually makes it your permanent seat (since there are so many people in the class, it is the easiest way to take attendance). Lectures were easy! Dr. White makes the first 15 questions on every exam from the textbook so make sure to read the assigned chapters. Overall, he is a really nice professor and person in general, so if you pay attention you won't have a problem taking his class.

Dr. White is a HILARIOUS professor! Always loved going to his lectures, even at 3:30 in the afternoon. Gives a study guide for each test and he will answer any questions about them if you ask. You MUST read your textbook (first 15 test q's from there each time) and come to class to get answers for his last 5 test questions (ex. stories, etc.).

Observant professor. If you engage with the discussions, class will be a breeze. He does respects your presence as long as you respect his. NO CELL PHONES/Laptops. Exams- study guide and section from your readings. Simple.

Since im a social work major i have him a lot. his perspectives on everything really teaches you a lot just have patience.

At first he can come off very strict and possibly rude, but as long as you respect his rules you should be fine. Dr. White makes Sociology very interesting. He will never test on something he hasn't reviewed or told you to review. You need to at least skim the book. Dr. White says things that the average person would be scared to, so be ready for that.

Social work 1001: Easy easy EASY class. While Dr White can be quite controversial IN class, as long as you show up and do the study guide, youll pass. The study guide is the test, and while he doesnt go OVER the study guide, everything can be found in the book. He takes points off if you miss class, but gives you two freebies to skip.

I took Dr. White freshman year for SOCL 1001. I didn't take reading the book seriously and it showed when I made B's on all my tests. As long as you show up and listen to him tell his somewhat boring stories and read the chapters before each test you will definitely pass. There are also group assignments but these are always done in class!

I've taken Dr. White for several classes over the years. Although he may talk about controversial things, he will make the class a safe place to where we can talk about anything. I highly recommend taking notes, for his tests come directly from the ones he gives you in class. Majority of his notes can be found on Quizlet from previous students!

Dr.Whites class was super easy. He yaps the whole lecture and as long as you take notes and skim through the reading you will be fine. He does say some off putting things sometimes but for the most part he tries to be respectful.

Overall, a very interesting and rather easy class. He's nice, his grading is straightforward, and there is no "true" homework you are required to do. The point opportunities are SLIM, but as long as you perform well on the three exams (take notes, review study guides, and skim the online textbook for examples mentioned), you'll do perfectly fine!

For me, Dr. White was a very well rounded professor! The stuff he teaches in class is going to be on the exams but he will give you a study guide over what will be on the exam. The first 15 questions are always from the book so you will have to read the chapters. He will respond to your emails and wants to help you succeed in his class!
