Prof. Latham is the worst teacher i have ever had. she does not explain the math and she rushes through her objective and thinks everyone should know contempoaray math. If you are not real good with math don't take her you will be sorry. only 5 people out of her class understood the math. the rest of us she just passed with low grades.

Doesn't teach well, and when she attempts, we do most of the teaching. To much like a highschool class

Absolutely horrible professor. Do not take under any circumstances. Demeans the students, marks you late if you literally walk in 1 minute after class starts, goes out of her way in the middle of class to get into arguments with students, pesters you about leaving to use the bathroom, and goes off topic constantly. Stay far away as possible.

avoid at all costs. should be fired. teaches class like its the 4th grade. strict about bathroom breaks and hw. demeaning, will lower your self esteem guaranteed. people like this shouldn't be teaching.

TRUST ME!!you dont want to have this professor as ur instructor.she gives unclear notes and her method of developing and grading tests are completely unfair.there was even one test when we ran out of time and everyone in the class was still on the first problem.no tests are dropped or curved.she gives out seating charts and she embarasses students.

She is very unorganized and go to fast and doesn't explain how you get the problem by step. she is very complicate.. you must study hard and able to understand this material. Don't take her class.

Worst teacher ever dont take her. Says she drops the lowest test score I don't believe her I got 100 95 110 and 66, but somehow my final grade wasn't an A it makes no sense considering I did all my homework and did well on her quizzes. Dont be late for her class!

Don't take her if is at 8am she will mark you late if you get there one minute late. she takes points off for every time you are late.she does not consider anyone. I dropped her class and decided to take a different professor.

I am carrying a 3.6 GPA, finished Calc II, Physics 200 and Chemistry 200 and this professor is by far the worse. If you want to feel like you are in High School all over again go ahead and take this class. She is horrible in regards to her teaching methods and her attitude. Not professional at all.

Its not that the class is hard its that she makes it hard. She ignores students, she's never thinks she is wrong even when she is. Honestly if you want a good grade DONT TAKE HER. Literally we argue with her everyday in class. she is also very prejudice towards people. She gives too much work and. There are no reviews for test at all.

UNCLEAR and AMBIGUOUS

If you do take her, BE EARLY. She'll come in class about 10 mins early and if she's ready, she'll start, even if class hasn't technically begun yet. Gives a lot of homework, but I personally don't mind it. Very unclear and makes math a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Horrible teacher - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

She is very unclear when she teaches. Just read the book and pay attention to what the book says. Her notes and study guides are not helpful at all.

Takes attendance at least 5 minutes before class, is extremely eager to mark people late and omit their homework, and will regularly rush through class to fit as many topics as possible. She messed up on a quiz, and individually scheduled each student to come in for a retake. She said she would contact me but I ended up having to chase her down.

She is the worst professor I've ever taken at Bergen. She explains mathematical concepts in ways that make you want to stick your head in a blender. Before a test she'll go over the topics covered and half the time it seems she doesn't even know what she's saying. She frequently makes mistakes in her explanations. Probably one of the worst teachers you will ever take. very rude and goes through the material very fast. She takes points of for the smallest things. You need a doctor note to go the bathroom. you can talk or breath in class. theres homework every class. more than 80% of the class ended up with a D or an F.

One of the hardest classes i have taken at Bergen. She is horrible at explaining a lecture if you did not understand your out of luck. I learned more on youtube then i did with her she makes everything harder. I felt like with her i was set up for failure no extra credit no drop on the lowest grade. She is very rude and very unprofessional.

Trying to learn math from her just made it so much more complicated than it needed it to be. Your better off learning from the textbook or getting a tutor. I cannot recall the amount of times that students would need to correct her for her mistakes. There were so many times where she would tell us the wrong things. Avoid taking her classes!

Worst class ever. I wish i can take it all back. Very tough grader. Very strict professor. Shes very accurate when it comes to grading. Do not take her class!!!!

My concerns are toward how she got her degree and how she is able to hold her job. This professor is not interested in the student because she only interested in getting the money for work. I cannot further explain how much of a disgusting, vile and unprofessional experience Ive had the displeasure to work with. This teacher is beyond for words.

She doesn't go in order of the book. Jumps around. Expects the class to memorize things right away. doesn't know how to teach

Never answers emails, doesn't allow retakes, sweet lady but makes everything harder then it's supposed to be. if you missed homework forget about it.

I have a 3.8 gpa and this is the first class I have failed. Many of the students either fail or barely pass. She does not teach in order and skips around the text book. Start with the hardest concepts without any prior foundation. We learn the foundation after we're struggling. Problems on tests are a lot more dif. than prob. in textb.

She has no remorse with her students. Due to the coronavirus, classes were cancelled and she has done nothing but make things ten times harder. She's purposely making tests harder, and giving us plenty of work. Many peers are working, going through personal tragedies; and she is being nothing but inconsiderate

Took this class because I am a fan of math, however half the semester was online due to the coronavirus- worst news ever. She refused to show grades and discuss grading with students. No help for online quizzes/ tests. Did not give any feedback for HW submitted. She was rude in class, and did not fail to keep that consistent with emails at home.

This professor was the absolute worst professor I have ever had in my life. She does not care about the students and basically leads them to failure. Although she knows her material well, she does a poor job at explaining it to people who may not be as good at the subject. DO NOT TAKE HER. This class is a waste of time, energy, and money.

She is rude, condescending, and runs her classroom like a pre-school. She yells at students for small things, makes constant mistakes in her teaching, and is often corrected by students. Lots of tests, no laptops allowed for note taking. She locks the door if you are over a minute late, if you ask for help she tells you to pay attention next time.

She posted 4 different exam versions with no explanations attached. After doing exam 1A, I found it odd that there would be other exams involved. Lo and Behold, I found a Gmail from her regarding taking the right version of the exam. I took the right one again, and asked her to please give me the lower grade of the two I did. She refused. So unfair

Absolute disaster. It is like she is trying to fail you. Makes everything complicated. If online classes was not already pain to deal with in terms of tecnology and getting familiar she makes everthing even more complicated. I have never had a professor this bad. This class will break you.

Dont not waste your time with this lady. She shouldnt even be a teacher and gives the least amount of effort I have ever seen a teacher put into their job. In addition dont bother emailing her because she doesnt care and wont respond. Also, she is very condescending and not easy to work with onto of being a very difficult grader. Listen to me

This professor is a very strict grader. She does not offer partial credit under any circumstance which guarantees failure on exams. Even if one fragment of a question is wrong she will mark the entire question as wrong. Do not take this professor under circumstance as she does not listen to students and the school will do nothing to stop her.

Easily the worst professor I've ever had at Bergen Community College. I've been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA in my degree program because I've been able to work with every professor I've had - albeit some were difficult. Prof. Latham isn't interested in teaching the course and much less in your grades/future.

Conveyed information incredibly poorly, and about half of the information on each test was never gone over in the homework, despite each homework assignment being upwards of 80 questions. Expect to put in a lot of work for almost zero output, as the only thing this professor tries to do is cut your grade down by any means.

I really though I was good at math. I have never get less than A in a math class. I think I am getting a C now. If you care about your GPA, DO NOT TAKE HER. SHE WIL TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE POINTS AWAY IN YOUR TEST. She never gives feedback. How do you expect a student to do things correctly if they don't even know what are they doing wrong?

if I were you, I would not take her. lectures are heavy and confusing. homework is even worse. Save yourself

to this day I am not fully sure if my experience in the class was real. She does not give any feed back at all, is incredibly rude to students, and barely teaches. We show our work to learn what we might be doing wrong and she just responds with "ok".

Easily one of the worst professors I have had. She would post videos of the lectures with the work already done and she would just talk about how she got there instead of actually doing the work. I took the same course but with a different professor and the class is a breeze. Do not take her class!!!

I have always been studious and naturally able to pick up on math and my goodness this teacher is just absolutely the worst. I'm not fully convinced she even knows what she is saying because 9/10 times she is wrong and realizes what she said made no sense, and then goes back to fix it. Took this class again and got an A.

Yeah, I'm already regretting taking a class taught by her and I dropped it for a better cause. She often calls out on other students and barely gives any good feedback on the work that you do for her. Since the class I took was a hybrid program, she will constantly push lectures, which weren't made that well. Just please avoid learning from her.

Over the years I've had some professors that I didn't like, but this has been by far the worst learning experience I have ever had. Topics that I had understood perfectly in highschool were retaught poorly and ended up confusing me immensely. Aside from the poor teaching, she is outright disrespectful to students, especially if you have a question.

She is not easy nor simple, she will make you work like this isn't just a community college calculus class

Great person and definitely knows math. But her teaching style is out of date and confusing and lectures often left me more confused and lost than when I started. I had to learn everything on my own I could have received the same grade for this class if I didn't attend a single class.

Somehow she re taught things I had already learned in highschool in a more complicated way. She's ruthless when it comes to grading I forgot to include a line while subtracting and got points off. Lots of homework is assigned each class around 20+ problems from the textbook. Her teaching style is more so doing the problems and hoping you follow

I never felt the need to write a positive nor negative review about ANY professor. But my experience in this class was so unpleasant, I felt the need to warn others. Professor Latham made me hate math. My favorite memory was when after I failed a test, she came up to me and started showing off what Calc 2 looked like...to spite me.I switched majors

She is not a good professor, not due to her not knowing her material, but because she improvises her teachings and expects people to know the material instead of explaining it from scratch. This only gets worse as the class progresses since she assumes everyone is caught up, and if you are not you will get steamrolled. Hard. shes no charmer either.

I read the reviews and figured it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. Homework and lecture do not prepare you for the exams, which are way more difficult than the homework. The only people doing well are those who were already good at math. If you struggle with math, do not take a course with Prof Latham.

Be prepared to learn everything on your own. Do not rely on the lectures

If you care about future and TRANSFERRING DONT TAKE HER CLASS. She doesn't have the SKILLS of teaching but rather should just be a test proctor. Lectures are overall characterless. You cant make mistakes without being scoffed at, yet her lectures are riddled with inconsistencies. At times she teaches material which isn't on tests! Her way or wrong!

Awful, she gives so much homework. Homework isn't even what we learned its what we are going to learn the next week so no one knows how to do it. Gets mad very easily. Threw out so many kids for being "disrespectful" even though they weren't. Bad teaching she doesn't explain good. She stands in front of the board so you dont know what shes saying.

Her class was so terrible I switched majors and transferred early and I am now incredibly successful in my new path. I can attest my success to her vile behavior during class, If you need a challenge or a smack in the face, take her class. If you could do without a life changing-ly terrible class, then avoid this professor at ALL COSTS

Normally, I do not write reviews for professors, but here I am. She is the most inept educator I have ever encountered. There is no partial credit or opportunity to fix your grade! Her teaching approach is like that of instructing young children. I wish I had dropped out of school. You should stay away if you respect yourself!

Avoid this professor's class if possible. Lectures are disorganized, and she is often disrespectful to students. Homework and exams are extremely challenging, and not well-aligned with the material covered. Unstuck study may help with study prep, but this class is best skipped if you can.

She seems nice in the beginning, but then is very mean spirited. Treats students poorly and unfairly but expects them to be kind to her. She even mistreats the students who do well.

Just don't take her..so rude. This class was hybrid, and her online videos were just so confusing. The online video problems are already written out; she just reads over it and doesn't explain.

Someone else said this, but yeah just read the other revies. Gives out homework she doesn't even grade. The online lectures aren't great. You're better off using khan academy or organic chemistry tutor on YT. In person lectures aren't great either, grade relies basically solely on quizzes and tests, and she's quite rude. Find a different professor.

This was the worst teacher I have ever had. She gets her own problems wrong and a student has to correct her. She assigns lectures to watch instead of teaching even though it's not a hybrid class. gives problems on the test that were not on the review sheet. If you need to take this course make sure to take it with a different teacher.

I would rather get a root canal with no anesthesia than take her class again. I barely passed because she drops one test grade depending on what you get on the final. (BTW the final is infinitely easier than any test she gives in class). She absolutely refuses to curve the test grades even when the whole class gets below C's. Try to avoid taking.

This professor will call on you at random points in the class, so if you are lost, be prepared for her to judge you. She gives no study guides, and if you are a little late to class, she will not accept homework. For your own sake, don't take this professor. My class started with 25 people and ended with 5.

I can't say here what I want. Beyond rude, will say publicly you need to study more and will discuss your grade at regular volume, letting the whole class hear. Incredibly disheartening to come back here and see that she hasnt changed her ways. Some people can not be helped. She is an ailment of society. Incomprehensibly rude. She is designed like a villain you'd only think you'd see in a Disney movie. The teacher in every rap song who didnt believe the rapper would make it in life. Just a horrible person.

Lots of cold calling its genuinely tiring. Quizzes and exams are not the hardest if you study a lot. The problem comes with how she grades she is BRUTAL. A lot of my exams I could have scored a B or A easily but instead of giving partial credit gave me full points off! Homework and attendance is not graded but instead penalized if you are absent.

She did little to no teaching in the class and relied on low-quality lectures from quarantine. She gave an insane amount of homework (double on holiday weekends). I had to teach myself everything. I studied for 9 hours the night before the final and still failed. Please don't take this teacher if you care about your GPA or your sanity. Bad teacher
