Mann this guy is AWESOME, 8 out of 10 questions in the test are straight form the reviews, just listen to his lecture and do the HW you will get an A. He's a bit strange! Has some weird quotes about life not being fair. Sometimes when you ask him a question he doesn't really understand and starts explaining something else. He has good intentions though, he's very helpful if you need it. He gives a study guide before each test and does not check Homework. Should take him.... =)

He looses his patience from time to time. But he teaches very well he know the subject and if you study the review you will do great. I never study and I got an A in the class. What can I say when I seat in his class, is just super fun to be in that class hearing him teach about math, its an easy class on which he gives review sheets for every test, also he gives extra credit with students love. Every EXAMPLE he does on the board and in his review sheet comes out in the test NO TRICKS. YOUE THE BEST, MY NUMBER #1.

i took him for virtual college and all you have to do is take 4 quizzes and an *optionaL* final test.No homework, no assigments , but he does offer reviews for quizees but i warn you dont even fail one of the quizzes. I had a b+ and it went down a c just because i failed one and i had b and a in all of the other quizzes, theres no extra credit.

Best teacher ever!!! so nice easy class take notes do h/w which is optional to understand the stuff and his exams are just like the reviews which he gives before each exam. If you need help he is very helpful. Now if math isn't your thing and your not going to try then dont waste your time taking him.

Professor De la Rosa is awesome! I took him for mat1033 and mac1105 and passed both times with a high B. The class was half online so the hw was easy and helpfull. We had 4 exams [2 in class 2 online] and an optional final that replaces the lowest grade. You need to study but he explains things so clearly and gives so many examaples its a breeze!

I took him for 1045 & 1105 and he is a GREAT Professor. He explains everything on the board, and gives a lot of examples. half of the class is online, so there is 2 exams in class and 2 online. PLus he gives you extra credit. And for every test he gives you a review which explains everything that is going to be on the exam. I got A in both classes

Im taking him for MAT1033. Super easy class if you come and pay attention. He explains everything you dont understand. I've gotten an A on every exam. He does have a Latin accent but this is MIami, who doesnt. HE is not mean at all. He, like other professors, dont like to baby sit or repeat themselves. If you dont get an A then the problem is U.

Teaches and reviews ONLY what's on the tests - Pass 6 and avoid final.. NO book necessary, no homework given, no lab required - unless you need the practice. Thank goodness!!

AMAZING professor!! I took him for both MAT1033 and MAC1105 lets be honest math isnt exactly the easiest subject but professor de la rosa explains everything so clear and gives so many examples that everything will make sense. I learned so much from this professor and i wish he taught every level of math so i could keep taking him!

i took this class virtual blend and do not like it. half his test are online and they are hard because you have to have the precise answer. he is not a bad teacher but i prefer paper and pencil,don't take virtual blend if math is hard for you

At first, this class was a complete nightmare and Professor De la Rosa wasn't making the experience any better. After the first test, though, he really changed. He sent reviews and even gave us a sheet with 5 problems worth 50 ex.credit points! Thanks to that, I managed to pull up my grade to an A. He really is a nice guy and he's fair. Take him :)

Professor De La Rosa is the best math teacher I have ever had. He is clear and explains all concepts in full. If you have trouble with math, take him! He will get you through! That being said, you must do the homework or you will not get anything from his class. He's all about the practice.

You must know a little about basic math to understand the concepts he uses. He teaches the material greatly and if you ask a stupid question, he will make you feel stupid. But he's a really funny/sarcastic guy. If you REALLY need help, you have to ask him face to face, he's a really nice guy when you talk to him personally.

Professor De la Rosa is a 90% good professor. the missing 10% go to his explanation on the material. I took his blended class, we did homework online, which was east, took 4 test, which if you have a 70% or better with the 4 test you didn't have to take a final, we didn't use the book, he did a million examples so you could understand it. I hate math, but I passed his class with a B, I'm taking him again for Mac1105. His classes are easy!!!

4 test 2 online 2 in class, final is optional because it replaces an in class test... He's amazing at teaching the stuff, I hate math, but with him it didn't seem as bad!!! I ended with a B but I'm sure if I would have studied harder I would have gotten an A.. Reviews are similar to test...he's a serious man so don't go to fool around !

I took his blended course. 2 tests in class (60%), 2 tests online (30%), and hw (10%). He's a really nice guy. He responds to emails very quickly. Does a good job at breaking every step down for you. I never payed attention in class all that much and I ended up with a B. Do the homework and the study guides (very similar to the tests).

He is a very good teacher! 2 in class tests and 2 online. (Blended course) He puts study sheets online (very helpful & similar to the test). Take notes and do the homework and his class will be a breeze! He quickly responds to emails and is very helpful!

He is pretty easy if you pay attention, although he does make mistakes. When you point out something he does wrong he gets a little defensive. He has random moments where he would stop the class to say something completely unexpected because someone is texting or sleeping. all in all he is a really easy class if you pass the tests

Personally I hate math, but he made it clear and simple. I passed this class with an A. If you do the homework, the reviews he gives and come to class you should pass with no problem. He doesn't mind if you ask questions. so ASK! And take notes.

Online class. Basically you teach yourself with math homework, you don't need the book but you do need the access code. He gives reviews that are the same as tests just different questions. 4 Tests 1 optional final to bump lowest grade. There are also 4 easy discussions. You need discipline for this class. You teach yourself!!

Im HORRIBLE at math so this class wasn't easy for me. I had to study a lot to really understand the material, but I suppose that applies to everything in college. De La Rosa was very helpful and clear. You certainly have to study and the online textbook is somewhat optional depending on how you do on the tests. In class tests will make you or break you because they make up 70% of the overall grade but, the tests are what you see in the reviews. He is eye candy but not for the fainthearted. PS: PARTICIPATE!!

Wonderful professor. If you do your homework and review his tutorials in each module, you'll pass! 2 online exams, 2 proctered exams, optional final. His review tests mimic the actual test. Study and you'll pass. He responds quickly to emails and is really nice. You don't need the actual textbook - etext and access code is sufficient.

Good math teachers are hard to find but he's one of them! If you go to all the classes and pay attention you'll pass with flying colors. Half of the tests are online and the other half is in class. He makes everything clear and gives study guides before the tests. 2 tests online and 2 in class. Do all your connect math! He boosts up your grade by a lot. I took this professor for mac1105 and it was the best decision ever! He gives you 2 online tests and 2 in class tests. Obviously the in class tests are worth a lot more but he gives really good lectures so take good notes and you'll pass! His study guides are exactly the same as the tests!

This guy is straight to the point. Theres 3 tests and a final. He is a great teacher, for the time he gets he covers everything you need on the test. He teaches a little fast but homework isn't a requirement. the only grades you receive are for tests. Out of all my math professors I've had while in college he is one of the best!

This guy is amazing! He was very clear with every lesson he taught and was always available to answer any questions or help you with anything. Took him online for Trig. Responds to email quick. Provides worksheets and notes that will help you learn the material. It wasnt easy taking trig online but I still mange to pass. I recommend that you review the notes, book, and any material that can help. The assigments where open from day one so you will have plenty of time to do them.

Professor De La Rosa is AMAZING! I took him spring semester 2015, blended course- 4 online quizzes, 4 in class tests, and final is optional. I would DEFINITELY recommend him! He's understanding, nice, respectful, and answers emails quickly! Would take him again! Passed the class with an A.

I hate math and never have enjoyed it. I get test anxiety and this man has taught me the material and I aced the class. 3 in class exams and 3 online if you take the blended course. He's has funny too. You have to attend to pass or you will be confused. He gives reviews and lots of similar test problems for practice. You'll pass for sure!!

This guy is so stoic! I think he smiled like 3 or 4 times. Regardless, this class was pretty straightforward. Do examples during class, and similar questions pop up on the tests. A lot of mymathlab stuff but that's pretty unavoidable in any math class. The prof is polite and approachable. Would recommend.

Took MAC 1140 on Summer C 2014 at FIU, random prof. and DROPED IT, took it again on the fall with "an awesome prof.", GOT AN "F". Took it with Nelson and got a B+. He gives you exercises as similar as possible to the ones on the tests. Straight forward guy. He will help you when grading. Just do the homework and know how to do the ones he assigns

Really knows his stuff. He's clear in his explanations and works everything out step by step. Homework is due at the end of semester, 3 online exams, 3 in class exams. No extra credit but if you attend class it's not even needed. Math isn't easy but he makes it enjoyable and you actually learn. He's a professor who cares, take him& see for yourself

Taught what he had to teach and he always got to the point of each lesson even before class was over giving students a chance to ask questions. The only negative thing I have to say about him is that he was very negative and always made the students feel bad saying things like "youre not going to pass" and "ive done everything i can".

This professor is crystal clear in his grading criteria. Although I took his online class, he was still able to reply to questions, give feed back, and remind us on due dates; which is something he is not obligated to do. I took him for MAC1105 and statistics was no easier. He makes you work for your grade and if you want an A, you will have to earn it. His tests are VERY similar to his reviews so do the reviews and you will be just fine. I highly recommend to get a study group, that will make the difference between getting an A or a B in his class. Its Calc, you need to show up to pass unless you're a brainiac. I've 3rd attempt at calc, and it clicked with this guy. Exams are like the reviews, study that, and the online hw and you'll be golden. I did this in a 6 week summer term and got a High B, considering I have failed or dropped every other time, thats saying something. TAKE THIS GUY!!!

Stats is usually a tough math class especially for those who struggle in math, but this teacher is AMAZING! He made sure you understood the concepts and he really helps out with any homework questions. Heavy homework but thats what helped me study for his tests, and his tests are pretty easy everything in the homework is in the test. he's great!

By far one of the best math teachers I've taken. I had him during the summer tho so it was a bit fast-paced but he helps you along the way. he literally makes sure EVERYONE understands a concept before moving on. make sure you do that online math work, huge amount of your grade. if you take good notes and go to every class you'll do fine on tests

I took his class half-online, half-in class. The overall grade is based on 20% homework and 80% exams. There were four exams. He offers reviews for each exam and they are nearly identical to the actual exams. The final is cumulative, but it is optional.

Math is hard if it's not your forte, and after failing it two times I thought I was doomed. This professor was the best, I took his online course, and I passed the final with flying colors, trust me, if you have a hard time with math, and you need to pass MAT1033, do yourself a favor and let him show you the way to glory!

He knows Trig pretty well and can explain it clearly, his accent is barely noticeable. His lectures are straight forward, and similar questions appear in his quizzes. The test and HW are out of his hands, the math department takes care of that, but he does a good job of explaining trig.

Nelson de la rosa, is an amazing teacher I highly recommend although there is a lot of online homework but its fine since you have unlimited tries. He is super cool guy I bonded with him well he cares if you place effort in class. Focus in class and STUDY for the exams as well and you should be good, but I enjoyed his teaching and his grading. I loved this professor it was online math on blackboard and I finished with an A. Five quizzes (he drops the lowest grade) one midterm and a Final. Do the practice. Homework was at Pearson around 23 all due at the end of the semester.

I took this prof for MGF1107 & 1106. He is so nice & funny and loves helping his students. You do have tests but he gives reviews that are pretty much identical (he goes over reviews before tests and answeres any and all questions) Homework is online, attendance is not mandatory. Just keep up with what you have to do and youll pass. Hes fantastic

this class was such a relief from a professor i had in the fall. Prof. De La Rosa really cares if you're learning. He provides reviews for his exams. The online homework helps as well. I took Prof. De La Rosa for MGF 1106 and 07 ... he is a very good teacher and math could not be more simple because of HIM. The only fault is he is very sarcastic and will put you on the spot. Show up to class so you are not left behind, do homework/it does help, and take advantage of exam reviews found on Blackboard. Studying easy grade.

If you get can pass how extra he can be at times with what he says then take him. I liked him! I dont think that his class is hard, he goes over everything in depth. Took lots of group quizzes in 1106. Theres online hw that is due before the last day of class. Recommend taking 1107 & 1106 one after the other as mini terms in the same semester.

I took him for Stats online. You do need the book only because of the fold out guide it comes with you will need to solve problems. I didnt use the book I just wrote down and followed his chapter reviews( not the power point one). If you can do the review you will ace the test. I just took them over & over until I could do it.

Clear & helpful lectures. Hes understanding and available. He truly wants students to pass his class. All work is due at the end of semester. There is a lot of quizzes n test but he teaches well so its easy. He posts test reviews. He is so nice & structures the class so that you can succeed. You have to buy the access code for book & HW.

Honestly the easiest online class. Just do the hw online quizzes per each chapter and a midterm and final. He provides review to all quizzes, midterm, & final. I asked for more time in the quizzes and final and he helped me out. Replies fast to emails. Very helpful. Take him If you want to pass. I wish I can take my other math classes with him.

I took MAC2233 online during Summer 2019, content was hard but if you do the homework and quizzess you should do fine on the test. HW assignments not bad just make sure you turn them in on time no exceptions. BTW, his grading is fair and he does curve the quizzes and test.

He was great. A lot of HW 25%, Mid term 25%, final 25%, 4 quizzes 25%. He has a lot of material available to practice.

He is the best! If I could take him again I would. He took my worst subject and made it totally easy! There is a few tests and only one or two quizes (which you do in a group) and your homework which is all due in the end. He is the right choice!!

If you are respectful towards him he will be respectful towards you, his goal is for the class to pass. There is usually a quiz before an exam but he doesn't warn you when even if the class doesn't have mandatory attendance so beware of that. No midterm or final, four exams and the fourth is just to replace your worst previous grade. Easy pass.

If you're bad at math then definitely take math with his professor. He's big on respect and will call you out if you're not paying attention. But other than that his class is really easy and straight to the point. You need to buy the textbook in order to do the homework. And all his hw is due at the end of the semester.

I took him for MGF 1107 and now I have him for MGF 1106, he is super nice, super caring and encourages you to ask questions. He lectures of different word documents and he grades off Pearson MyLab Homework, which is fairly easy, he gives until the end of the class to turn it in and he gives 4 easy test throughout the course.

Hes super sweet and patient with his students and the work. He makes the work easy and is always open to questions. Ive already registered to take him for my next semester. Work is easy and if you ever need help he replies quickly through email.

It was very self-paced, all assignments were open right from the start. Very nice guy, even checked in every few weeks when it was time for an exam or quiz. If you need to ask something, email him and he will help you. As long as you study from the sources he provides, you're good. The homework was a bit rough at times, but nothing too challenging.

I had a bad professor for statistics, but I encounter Nelson de la rosa and he's the best. He cares for his students and wants them to pass the class. He answers emails quickly and likes to help out. The exams are on lockdown browser, but he allows you to use formulas and notes during the exam. Overall, I would recommend taking him.

His notes are pretty messy and it was hard for me to decipher. 4 exams, each with their own review, but it was 50/50 whether or not the questions on the reviews helped u prepare for the exam. 20+ hw assignments that were available throughout the course & due at the end. Gave us a day off to work on hw bc people were behind.

I've previously taken him for MGF1106-7 and truly believe he's one of the best professors at mdc. His lectures are easy to understand and he explains concepts very well so it's hard to not pass the class. He responds to emails promptly and doesn't give much hw apart from the online assignments followed by exams and you can work at your own pace.

Super sweet teacher I had him for MGF 1107 as well. Make sure you do the homework and don't do it last minute because it is time-consuming. Tests are done on a lock-down browser but you can use notes during them.

Math has never been my favorite subject. I Have always struggled with math. This semester I took Professor Delarosa's class, and I am so grateful I did. He is by far my favorite math professor. He is kind, understanding he really does care about his students. It really shows. He also loves teaching and that also shows in the way he teaches.

Prof. De la Rosa walks you through the process of doing statistics and his explanations and examples are crystal clear. His grading is fair and there's a lot of homework, but if you do it the exams are easy cause it's just the same stuff. If you need to take stats, take him, he's great.

Prof. De La Rosa is very educated and caring. I took his MDC LIVE class during the Spring 2024 term and it was overall very good. Very good lectures and makes sure everyone is on board. His grading consist of ALEKS homeworks (all due end of semester), participation, and 4 exams. Made STATS very easy to understand and reviews everything on each test

Second time taking this course. Participation matters a great deal with this professor! You will pass if you pay attention, participate, and study. He gives you plenty of study guides and material to practice with. Use the study guides to help with the exams, which are not proctored! The guides really do come in handy when you get stuck. Great professor! The class was easy to follow thanks to his clear explanations. There were 4 tests and the rest were assignments given early in the semester, with plenty of time to finish. He replies to emails quickly and is always open to questions. I'd take his class again!

Love him! One of my favorite professors, all of his assignments are online and the tests match exactly to the study guides and homework he assigns on ALEKS. Lecture attendance is not mandatory, but he does keep track of participation, which 10% of your grade. Other than that, his class is both incredibly chill and fun! Take him!!!

just take him bro. he's really nice and always wants you to ask questions. he explains everything to the detail and provide multiple practice exercises. the homework and tests are on aleks, they're fine and very similar so if you study for the homework you're test ready. again, TAKE HIM.

I really enjoyed his course, very challenging but he provided a lot of resources to help you. He gives you reviews for midterm and final so just study for those and you will do fine. Would take him again!

Honestly easiest A i have ever gotten. Attendance wasn't mandatory so it was just online homework with a project that was relatively easy. Good teacher also gives very good explanations.

Professor Nelson De La Rosa is one of the best math professors I ever met. His lectures are straightforward and simple to learn. If you have any plans to take statistics class in the future, I recommend you to take him, he's one of a kind!
