Does not speak english very well and is hard to understand. Grades her test on how neat and how much work you have done. Even if you get the right answer she will only give one point for that question if it's not neat in her opinion.
What an amazing teacher. You can do well in her class if you pay attention, do your home work and ask for help if needed. Her accent is fine there is nothing wrong with it. you just need to pay attention and you will understand then the math will become very clear to you. Her class is a challenge. IF you pass it then you will be known as "Hero".
I love her! I took her at north lake and I was looking for her for my college algebra. she has changed her name. she was kolarova back then. I took her after falling twice intermediate algebra. I made an easy A in her class.
English isn't that great, could be better
She talk to much and her ascent terrible. She's never forcus on what you talking about. Never take her class
Very lazy instructor.
Shes a great person and she understands that not everyone is going to be great at math so she takes her time with you and really helps you out, Ive had some math teachers that were straight up jerks, so I was so thankful when I got her. shes cool.
O MY? Nena is the best. I took her for 3 of my classes. I am sorry that she doesn?t teach trig, so I can take her, but I am definitely taking her Calculus class. I haven?t seen so dedicated teacher! She is sweet, nice, helpful, and so patient! I was a complete ignorant in math, but she made me think that I could pursue a teaching carrier in Math!
I had her in summer. She is very smart, helpful, and tolerant. I went to her for a recommendation letter; she gave me an awesome one. I don?t think that her class was hard. Yes, you have to do the homework, but how else you can learn how to work the problems? If you don?t understand, she will explain to you and she will extend the due dates for you
I just dropped her class. After reading some of these comments I have no idea how we are talking about the same person. She is absolutely horrible! Yes she is nice but she cannot explain things clearly at all. This is by far the worst professor I have ever come across.
How funny! She's by far the best professor in my entire college career. She shows enthusiasm for a subject as dry as mathematics. She's an amazing professor and an even better person! All through high school I didn't really understand math but she explains it so well and i guess I'm not afraid to ask questions either.
This is undoubtedly the best math teacher i have ever had. I am telling you, there is a special spot in heaven for this women...Her teaching is clear, quizzed %100 accurate, and she doesnt tamper w/ the material, hard chpt=hard quiz, easy chapter=easy quiz. period. i wish she taught everything. If you fail, its bcus u didnt listen and didnt study.
I did enjoy her class and did improve in many areas. I think that she is a very kind and patient instructor that has a lot to offer. She gives a lot of extra credit too.
Nice teacher. Class was easy. Do your homework. Test reviews are pretty much how the test will look, which make the tests easy. I made 110 % on one of them and I am not good at math.
Love Going to this class. Fun and I learn so much.
She is a Blessing! Love her!
Math isn't easy--so don't expect that! But Nena is a wonderful professor!! Very helpful!! She tries everything she can to make the subject interesting, and easier for you! Highly recommended A+++++
I am terrible at math and have an extremely difficult time understanding a lot of it but Professor Kabranski explains everything in a way that even someone like me can understand and when someone doesn't get it she will explain it as many times as is necessary until they get it.
I hated math before Calc1 @ TCC, but Prof Kabranski almost convinced me to roll math major. Her lectures varied very little; for the most part they were interesting and easy to understand. My only advice for this class is to do the homework, believe it or not homework can make or break you in the end.
She's a great teacher. She makes everything crystal clear, and can answer any question you throw at her. Definitely knows her stuff, and knows how to articulate math concepts very well. Also a really nice person.
Simply put, she's not the worst or the greatest teacher. Math is no fun, but she will probably make you smile once or twice in the semester. Also she is pretty helpful. I WOULD RECOMMEND HER. She will help you and is nice even though she is not always the easiest person to understand.
Prof. Kabranski was my most helpful professor my freshmen year. If someone in the class didn't understand something she would either go over it again or give that person special attention after class. Extremely helpful. Will work one on one with you if needed. Wonderful person.
I LOVE THIS teacher. she really cares about the students if you talk to her. she also tries to get to know all her students. if you have a problem just talk to her, it doesnt even have to be math related. she dresses soo cute! take this class. she explains the stuff well, she kind of teaches it like it is a highschool class.
OMG I love this prof! She's passionate about what she teaches and loves to teach! All that say something bad about her are losers! A+++
Great teacher, she is good at slowing down and explaining things. Homework is very important, not for points, but for a better understanding.
this is one of the best teachers i've had so far in TCC. she knows her material, explains every detail. goes over homework with students in class no matter how long it takes. she puts the students needs first.friendly 2 her tests are really within reach if you take your homework serious and participate in class. one word can describe her **GREAT!!*
I love her! I asked her a question at 12:30 am, she answered at 12:35 am. Take her! She's the best! A+++++
The best teacher ever! A++++
I had to drop her Cal I class. She asked me came to her office but not help me at all. Never recommended.
HORRIBLE!!...i took her course and she was no help. If you are good in math she will love you but if you have trouble she jumps to conlcusions and says that you don't study or try. Her emotions take over and she stresses you out!
Stay away from her. She will stressed you out and she is very unreasonal emotion instructor. She is only INSTRUCTOR level but in her email she always said: PROFESSOR. Get away from her.
I took the Hydric class which met only once a week and she did not lecture much in class. She's terrible instructor I've ever had. One of the bi**** I've ever known.
This lady is CRAZY!!! She is very unstable and claims that she works so hard to help her students yet she gets frustrated all the time. Doesn't sound like much of a helper to me. Her math techniques are very difficult to understand and she is pretty much all over the board and even confuses herself.
I loved Nena Kabranski. I took her online summer class 0350, she was very involved with the students. Cared if I was doing well or not. Pushed me when i slacked off. Helped me with problems. Quick to respond. Show effort and do your stuff on time.
0350 Online 4 week summer? I cried a lot in the beginning. Very mentally draining. but worth it in the end when I got an A. She pushed us hard. Deadlines are not negotiable, but all around I feel that she really cares about her students and she motivated me to do the best I could. Take this summer class if you like a challenge. She is helpful.
Nena Kabranski is the most caring professor I have ever had. I hated math before taking her class. Now, I do love it and I do understand it. I was thinking of dropping the class at a point, she motivated me to continue and I made a B. I might have made an A if I didn?t go so lazy the first 3 weeks of class. But then she helped me? A lot?
I took Cal I with her twice and dropped twice. She has much ascent and not explain materials well. Never take with her again.
Very emotional instructor. She is only instructor rank but always introduce her at professor. She used the powerpoint to teach which is not professional for Mathematics. I got "D" and have to find another instructor to take with. Get away from her.
Somebody is obviously dedicated to mislead about Kabranski?s personality. For me, who has taken 3 classes from her it is obvious that this person is talking BS. In our Calc Class everybody made either A or B. She gives free 7 points at the end of the semester.Yes, if you don?t do any work, you?ll fail the class, but this is true for all the classes.
I haven't passed a single test but I made an A in the class. I can't imagine how somebody may manage to fail her class. That has been hard on you dude ;)! Did you ever show up in class?! She repeats the questions that are on the test until you memorize them. Group hometake final.. No one could wish more. I took Price before. That sucked.
I liked very much Nena Kabranski. What I liked at most was that she does care for her students and she passionately loves mathematics. One more thing: I use this website to find instructors for class. Please do not make it a field for personal debates. If you really want to tell something to each other use a personal email.
She was the best teacher i have ever had.She took Quizzes a lot though. She gave extra credits and was really helpfuL.She used mathlab in her class.and there were 4 tests in this class. In the end of the class she addED extra points if your grades were consistently better. P.S I made an A in her class.
This was a great class learned quickly and efficiently. There are assignments daily and although it seems like a huge amount of work it prepares you for the tests. She gives exra credit and gives points for showing work on tests. She is willing to answer questions and help as needed she is better by phone or in person than in email.Great instructor
Please take her class and then you will know what the heck out of this lady. She will teach you nothing and will curse on you a lot.
Worst teacher ever! She changes the tests all the time. And she always goes back on her word. Do not take her. She can barely speak English
She is very nice. She understands students' needs and problems. If even one person does not understand the material, she is going to go over everything again. So kind, so sweet, so attentive? Every time I called her she took so much time to make sure I felt well and understood. She is not just a professor, she is an angel!
she doesns't speak a bit of english! she is constantly rushing taking the entire to teach one thing the you won't understand. Stay away from this crazy lady she got hit too many times by coconuts in her mud hut tree swinging village.
At first I thought she was a good teacher. But now that I'm farther along I HATE her. She never teaches everything that's due on the Homework and she gets frustrated easily when a lot of people have questions. If you want a good teacher especially for 0350 DO NOT TAKE HER.
She's amazing
The calc class is not easy, but she makes it easy.I enjoy her and the class.Do your homework! She gives a lot of extra credit and very nice practice tests. If you do the practice test you are pretty much prepared for the exams. Also, she gives a lot of partial credit.I cannot wish a better teacher for a calc class.
She is unstable and show off. Get away from her with all oost.
Good at math, pretty much useless at a teacher.
STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! I had her for Math 350 online. She gave way to much work and a lot of stuff about Math Anxiety, which is ridiculous. She would not answer emails and when you go on message boards to ask your classmates a question (since she wont answer emails) she replies with bitter comments. Horrible teacher!
Epic and stunningly elegant.Critics rave her 10 out of 10. A Mastermind at teaching mathematics. TCC could have not offered more.
Still wondering who teaches better, Kabranski or Do? Feedback please! (calc 1)
Very enthusiastic and though I HATE Algebra and never understood it before, she made sure I did. Very helpful and RESPONDS TO EVERY E-MAIL. Practice tests are great!
If you want to learn math, take this teacher. She will explain everything. She is very passion in what she is doing and will always take the time to explain, more than once if needed. I agree that she is a 10 out of 10. She is very fair in grading too. A lot of extra credit.
Actually wants to help her students understand the material. Ask for help, she won't go on til you understand. Daily work+HW+Practice Tests+Reviews before the test, which helps alot. If you put your mind to it, will definitely make an A. Math does need practice. Need textbook only if you don't understand the material in class.Overall,GREAT teacher!
Definitely one of the BEST teachers EVER! She is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND WILL HELP you until you understand the material. I recommend her for College Algebra...even you never understood math in the past.... I can't rave enough about her... She has several teaching styles that she uses when you cant understand it initially.... Very helpful!
I took the wintermester. I learned more in 3 weeks than from 8th grade Pre-Algebra until now.... :) her passion for mathematics and her compassion for her students combine make her one of the greatest teachers I have ever known. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Mrs. Kabranski is a GREAT teacher. I am very good at math and she noticed. She actually cares about her students. SHE WANTS YOU TO PASS. Her accent isn't that bad at all. You can completely understand her. I got a 104 in her class. Amazing teacher
Great professor, great passion for teaching math. Cares a great deal for her students, always willing to help durring office hours.
Best teacher i have had so far! Nice and helpful. She helped me every step of the way. I recommend her to anybody. just dont interrupt her teaching. beautiful accent!!
math is not easy, but she makes it easy with good explanation at class+daliy homework and a lot of extra credit. I had three classes with her and I got "B" because I face with a family problem. SHE IS A WONDERFUL WOMAN.
I've taken the class 3 times before. I thought I would never be able to pass this class at all. Not only did I pass but I made an A in the summer semester with her. She is fast to answer her emails, helps you with every question you might have, and one can see that she cares about her students. And I learned Math. I made a 98 on the final...A++++++
She is a blessing! Her classes are interesting. She makes jokes and you don?t fall asleep? in a math class! A lot of homework, but at the end you learn? I made 89, but she gave me an A, because I had all the homework done.
She is a very reasonable and very caring professor. I have her for a second time. She requires a lot, but gives twice more than you give. Take this professor if you want to learn mathematics. A++++
Ms. Nena is everything you need to learn math. I am returning back to school after 25 years. I learned a lot for the 2 months I am taking a class with her. I am sorry that she's not teaching the next level the following semester. I do not want to take another Math class if it is not from her. She is a giver! You will be blessed to have her!
Ms. Nena is my hero! She is beautiful, stylish and so smart! I wish she was teaching Calc 3! She is the most helpful teacher I've ever had and has the funniest, bubbliest personality. You will love her! But don't expect a free ride. Her class is very tough and she expects you to learn the material THOROUGHLY! Make the effort and you will prevail!
Ms. Nena is a very smart, helpful, fun teacher. Her classes are always very fun and interesting. I highly recomend her to anybody taking math.
Ok I have to be like the dumbest person in math but this lady here Mrs. Nena is the greatest angel ever she took someone like me and turned my grades of f's in math to A+ high a's. She explains things in such detail that you cant go wrong. There are practice test and homework problems on My MathLab that she grades. TAKE HER IF U WNT TO KNOW MATH.
Had her for precal, overall I would say she is an exceptional math teacher. However, if you're not a fan of somewhat bubbly personalities or can't understand a European accent you might want to someone else. There was homework due every test as well as random quizzes and assignments to make you show up for class.
Avoid this professor if you are taking distance learning. She has no understanding of why people have to do D.L. to begin with. She requires mandatory on-campus assemblies and will drop you if you are unable to attend. Her first one was scheduled for a period during which I will be at work, so I saved us both the trouble and dropped the class.
Although the meeting is mandatory, there were many people who did not show up. you are not dropped from the class, just listed as absent. So far, she has annoyed me but the opportunities to make a good grade were there.
I have 103 in the class! I love her. Very loving and caring teacher. By the way I am taking the class online.
I have never done so well in math until taking this class. Nena Kabranski is dedicated to helping her students. She is extremely friendly. If a student does all of the assignments and asks for help when needed, there is no reason they should not pass the course. For those who want to excel, the opportunity is there. A++++++++
Nena is the best, and she made calculus awesome and easy to learn. I struggled through two calculus classes and then I took Nena's class and she helped me after office hours and she really does care about her students. She was great, she gave a fair amount of homework for a math class, and gave thorough reviews for the exams. Awesome math teacher.
Nena is a really nice individual her tests can be tricky. She makes you memorize all of the Calculus 2 formulas you do not get anything on the tests homework is easy usually 15 problems from the book. Quiz's about 1-2 times a week Calculus 2 is a hard class but with Nena you can't fail. She also scares the students on purpose but hang in there.
Loved this professor. She is very helpful and really nice. If you do the work, you will do well. I am terrible at math, but she makes it easy to understand. If you need help, ask. She wants you to do well in the class.
If you want to learn this class is the best.No late assignments, but she gives you heads-up on what to expect. The class is hard, but I haven't seen a prof like her: I've tried her at 3 am and here she was,she emailed me back 10 min.later… a long email explaining the problem. For a DL class this is the best instructor you can find. She is beautiful
Always available to help. The homework is reasonable, but she doesn't want you to simply copy from the solution manual. If you hate math that's probably not the best instructor for you. She loves what she's doing and is fun to be around. You won't sleep in class. She will help with your grades if you do the work. I will take a class from her again.
Nena is a very nice professor out side of the class and good looking too. Calculus 2 is hard with her the reviews will no help much. The best thing is to practice the homework many times. She is very helpful if she sees you trying hard, but she will ignoring you if sees students get kind of lazy. I went up from a C to an A whit her help.
Nena makes Calculus 2 harder than it should be. She takes 20 min. to work a problem on the board, but gives 24 of them on a 2-hour test. Then she's surprised when the entire class is still there at the end trying to finish. She accused everyone of failing the test to make her feel like a bad teacher-and actually cried. Have to memorize EVERYTHING.
CALCULUS 2 is the hardest math class for anyone in the hard sciences or engineering. Ask anyone. Nena does her best to make a difficult subject seem manageable. Work hard! She is considerate and knowledgeable. Responds promptly. She is full of energy, and it is a joy to see a professor get excited about their class. Look no further.
Not easy. Calc is not easy, but Nena is going the extra mile to help you understand. She WILL make you understand even if you don't want to do that. She is the best Math teacher ever! I make a D in the class but that is entirely my fault. She gave plenty of opportunities to pass; I just had my stuff going on. I will take the class again with her.
Although I am poor at math and the course was difficult, I still passed because of Mrs. Kabranski. She is truly committed to her students, going beyond what is expected to help you understand and succeed. The only obstacle to getting a degree for me was Algebra, and now I can do it. My whole life is going to be changed thanks to Mrs. Kabranski!
This class was tough, so I had to put a lot of work into it. I despise math, but made out with a 99! Lots of memorizing. Mand. orientation. I absolutely love her, esp for her reviews that she ACTUALLY WORKS OUT for us. Past DL courses, I would take the prac test & wouldn't know why if I missed the question. Recommend! um, need more than 350 words..
Nena Kabranski is a great teacher who grades easy and is very dedicated to her students. I found her class to be easy at the beginning but by the end I was a little burned out and kind of sick of her teaching style. I absolutely recommend her to anyone, I just think that she wasn't the professor for me, as there are some things lost in translation.
Her Calculus 3 class is very difficult. We only had 3 test, she drops one which means only 2 test count 70% of your grade. And she provides no type of formulas for tests.
She doesn't teach. I had to resort to the text book and lectures on youtube. She makes things harder than they need to be. By far the WORST teacher i've ever had. don't take for cal 2 or 3!! RUN!!!
Time will tell everything. One of terrible instructor ever
She doesn't teach and blame the entire class. She makes things harder than they need to be. By far the WORST teacher i've ever had. don't take for cal 2 or 3!! RUN!!!!!!!
This professor is very unclear while she is teaching. Her tests are hard and usually are conceptual. While working out problems during class she could not even finish them herself. There is ALOT of homework for this class. She is helpful and does care about her students.
Calculus is a hard subject, and no matter how great the professor is, if the students don't take it upon themselves to study on their own it's very hard to pass. Ms Nena is a really great professor and it is obvious that she really wants her students to succeed. She pushes us to study and really breaks down the hard material in class.
Mrs. Nena Kabranski is amazing!!! Shes patient, she does not hesitate to help her students and shes 100% and beyond recommended :) She is a believer of all her students capabilities to succeed and never gives up on us :)
The class is really easy. If you do your work you'll be fine. Attendance should not be required. Everything is done online.
She is GREAT!! Loves Math and loves her students!! Willing to meet even during her off times. Responds to emails. Very helpful!!
Because the schedule so I must take her. The way she teaching was so confused like Johnson to Johnson method. The first day of class there were 25 students, but in the end 50% students drop this class. Test was 3 tests and count 60% of grade, and the test review were a long list of 30-35 questions that made you going crazy when look at it.
For the most part it was easy. But dead week was a nightmare. She doesn't create a review, she spends the whole week teaching a new chapter and with the final on Monday, it's friday and she still has not made the final. The only way to study is to redo all previous test reviews averages out to 100 pages... And then there's another chapter left.
Online class was well structured. Two assignments and quizzes per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays. Review for Mid-Term and Final were pretty much what was exactly on the actual test. Straight forward class--do your work, get your grade. Nice lady to talk to if you need help.
Thank God I am good at math. If you are not good at math, STAY AWAY. Mrs. Kabranski tries to appear like she cares for her students, but she is not organized and does not have an efficient and clear teaching style. If you are able to teach yourself and keep up with assignments than this is not a bad class.
Great instructor. Some people may not care for her because she is blunt and expects a certain amount of effort from her students. If you do not ask questions, she will assume everyone understands. That is how a classroom should be conducted anyway. She is always available to help during office hours. This class has prepared me well for Calculus 1.
Nena makes class harder than it should be.
Nena Kabranski's Pre-Cal class was the hardest class I've ever taken, poor communicator, so you'll teach the class to yourself then to top off that she'll give you one day to complete a homework assignment that you have to teach yourself and then complete. Staying ahead of course material and lectures is mandatory, no formulas on tests so memorize!
Ms. Kabranski's class was very tough. She deliberately tries to make it tough on her students to "prepare" them. Very short time to complete assignments, pop quizzes, no formulas on tests, sometimes no calculator, and requires THOROUGH memorization of course content. She's also poor at communicating the material, so you'll probably teach yourself.
I would say Professor Kabranski was very misleading especially when It came to grades and your overall final grade. I wasn't very strong in math so It was a struggle for me and I gave it my all. I did come out with a descent grade; not what I think I deserved but overall she was a OK teacher. Wouldn't be my first choice but It wasn't a bad class.
SUPER helpful and sweet, but it does NOT make up for the horrible teaching. She can't explain things and makes math harder than it is. You have to teach yourself which takes up too much time. TOO much MML hw, not enough time to complete. Lots of tests. Long reviews, but test questions come directly from it. Unorganized. Take S. Perry if you can.
I am okay at math & I was afraid to take Ms. Nena because she wasn't who I originally tried to sign up for. With some administration errors, I ended up having to take her class & I'm glad I did. My final grade was a 99.3 & was bumped to a 100! Do the homework & do her reviews, get an easy A. Didn't really use the book, and she can be really funny.
Got an A. Really funny teacher actually. Pay attention, do the examples, reviews, and homework. Failed some quizzes but she drops quiet a few of them and the homework. Gave extra credit in the end for me to get an A+. Will move the tests if you and majority of students don't feel ready or have another major test in another class to study for. GREAT
She's not a hard professor but if you are knowledgable of math or good at it expect to be told how you shouldn't be in the class at all. she does smoke e-cig during exams so if that bothers you don't take her, although it didn't bother me much(you don't smell it). Homework is a constant and its using mymathlab and mandatory although a book isn't .
I feel better about math than ever before, and I owe her that. She is caring, encouraging, and helpful. She pushes you to your best. She would stay on the same topic until every single one of us understands it all. Professor Kabranski is a gift to the math department, and every math student whoever struggled with math. She is very funny too.
Ms. Nena is awesome! The homework is acceptable. She will give you an extension if you dont meet the due date. The tests are OK. If you do the practice tests you wont have any problems. I was having personal issues and was about to drop the class, but she talked me out of it. She extended the test due date for me and I will end up having a high B
That was an example for an online course. She showed me step by step and explained how to do the math correctly. She answers emails immediately. Overall, the course is very straight forward and simple. I learned a lot and would take her again for Precalculus. You can take the exams online, which helps if you cant go to campus. She is an A+++
I took this class online, but from the immediate replies from her emails, she seems so sweet and really cares so much about every student. I encourage to take the online class it's really easy and helps if you are busy with working. She also gives extra credit. Easy A!
Ms. Nena is extremely thorough and interactive with the students in her lecture and sees our understanding of the concepts as the most important element in her class. She is always willing to help and always willing to go over a concept a million times just for our benefit. She truly cares about her students success.
She is sweet and cares about her students. In class she is willing to go over a concept as much as needed, and if still vague then she is very accessible for any questions. Pay extra close attention to the homework that she gives you (which is a lot) because those prepare you for the tests.
Nena is one of the most difficult teachers I have ever taken. Her class is tailored specifically to people who don't have a job, and have plenty of free time to do hours of homework. She is the nicest lady in the world, but that really doesn't make up for how horrible a teacher she is. I thought I was good at math, but obviously I was wrong.
shes caring wants you to learn, i mean really wants you to learn would stop the class to make sure you get it. regarding her exams they're not hard and not easy but with enough studying you'll get through it
The only downfall of Mrs. Krabranski is that she loves to give out pop quizzes and (at least for my class) she never goes over the review in class. Other than that she's great.
she cares a lot and will definitely give you help inside or out of class if you ask for it. she can be a tad difficult to understand at first but she makes up for it with be willing to help. I prolly wouldnt have gotten an A if she wasnt so helpful outside of class.
Took the class online and really enjoyed it. I could go at my own pace and if I had any questions she responded quickly. MyMathLab was easy to navigate and understand. There were examples and notes if I needed help with anything. She drops your lowest quiz and homework grades. You also get multiple attempts at tests and homework so you can get 100s
Ms. Nena is very nice and willing to explain until you understand but I think the online homeworks and quizzes are too much time consuming. If you are taking other courses too then you won't have enough time for them! She also gives pop quizzes in class, the exams are not difficult as long as you do the review a few times. It's not an easy A!!
I have to admit, Ms. Nena is a colorful character, but she really does love to teach and wants to see her students succeed. She's lenient, for the most part, and tests were not all that hard if you do the required homework. I'm a science major so math isn't exactly my strength and I still made an A. I would definitely recommend her.
A few semesters ago I posted a very bad review for Mrs. Nena. I was fresh out of high school and I was complaining about how she wanted us to remember the unit circle and the formulas. I am planning to go see her and tell her thank you for all shes done and that shes the best instructor I have ever had. I feel so well at UTA compare to the others
Hands down the worst professor in my whole history of professors. She did little to no explanation what so ever and worries more about finishing the section before class ends. Confused about a topic? She won't help explain it. Ask her a question? You'll get a frustrated answer or ignored. I wouldn't even recommend my enemy to take her class!
Despite the social barrier that comes with having a teacher who's not too fluent in English, she's a good professor and wants all her students to pass. If you have a question I'd suggest going to her after class because she likes to finish each unit per day without many interruptions. She's kind and sweet if she knows you're trying and doing work.
Really feels like she won't let the class take the test until everyone is certain they're ready. That being said, it's still Calculus 2 and it was a very difficult class. Do the homework, see her in her office if you get confused, and you should come out okay.
Love this professor so much! She was hands down the most caring math teacher I've ever had. She literally won't move on until she feels like the entire class gets the topic down, and she is always accessible outside of class. She won't let you down, but you also can't let her down. Take her! Only lazy people fail. Remember that!
I took Prof. K for MATH 1314 online during the summer. Be prepared to buy a custom book ($95) and to work on homework about every day. You can get ahead if you want. She uses ProctorU for the midterm/final, or you can go to the S campus. Pop quizzes via email. Lots of study resources provided. She's a nice professor, just assigns a lot of work.
At first, I found Mrs. Kabranski to be very intimidating. That all changed for me. She's very caring of her students and really wants everybody to pass her class. I think she teaches well, and she incorporates tips that will help you in future classes such as calculus and calculus 2. I would recommend taking her class.
Took her for my pre-calc class. If you struggle in her classes you should just quit doing math. Super easy. She will make sure you will pass the class, no matter what.
Please don't judge kindness over quality, Nena Kabranski is one of the hardest professor i ever took. Her lecture is so heavy and you won't understand a single thing in this class, homework is like everyday that makes you feel so tired especially you have a job. Her ascent is so hard to understand and listen to what she say. DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE
I have never done so well in math until taking this class. Nena Kabranski is dedicated to helping her students. She is extremely friendly. If a student does all of the assignments and asks for help when needed, there is no reason they should not pass the course. For those who want to excel, the opportunity is there. A++++++++
Ms. Nena is my hero! She is beautiful, stylish and so smart! I am glad she's teaching Calc 3! She is the most helpful teacher I've ever had and has the funniest, bubbliest personality. You will love her! But don't expect a free ride. Her class is very tough and she expects you to learn the material THOROUGHLY! Make the effort and you will prevail!
Her class seems alright at first but it get really tough. The homework assignment on web assign gives you an idea of what her exam might be. However, her exam is really tough and she has no mercy for you when it comes to taking points off. Unless you are really into math, she might not be the best professor for you.
Mrs Nena is the best math teacher. She's caring, and love her students. The review for her quiz and test are the same as the test, so study the review and pay attention to class you'll be fine. Don't think you'll pass any class without studying. I recommend her. I would love taking her for every class. TAKE HER
I have taken classes with all kinds of instructors, for all kinds of classes both at UTA and at community colleges in 3 states. I have never enjoyed math or ANY of my other classes as much as I enjoy hers. Mrs. Nena, She is charming and bubbly, and she wont let you down. She just loves you unconditionally and she helps you whatever what. Just ask!
I have never enjoyed math or ANY of my other classes as much as I enjoyed Precalc with Mrs. Nena. She is charming and bubbly, and she wont let you down. She just loves you unconditionally and she helps you whatever what. Just ask!
I'm a math major and enjoy math so much, but she made me hate it. She doesn't allow real calculators on the test. An online graphing calculator that literally only graphs is allowed. The website also has a regular calculator, but the rules for the test are so strict it states you can only use the link provided which takes you to the graphing page.
She is a sweet lady, very kind, nice ,and stylish. I wasn't interesting in math but she make it become easy to understand and now I can do it easily. Not a single one person have a grade below C on her class. Be in class, get the home works done, and you'll be fine. Don't expect to passing math classes without learning anything
She is so kind, caring and so nice. Took her for my Pre-calculus and she is the best, although there are a lot of homework and tests but she drops the lowest grades and curves your grade. Please take her, you wont regret it.
Hands down the hardest C I ever got in my life! I took the online summer class and it was a massive mistake. Very long and difficult assignments due daily Mon-Sun. If you work or have a family, I highly recommend not taking this class/instructor in the summer. Very little instruction or interaction and the tests are brutal. Stay Away!!!
She's super sweet but sometimes you can't understand what she's trying to teach. If you have MyMathLab you'll definitely pass the class and she drops the lowest test grade at the end of the semester! She really cares about her students
Please dont take her for Calculus II, I wouldnt recommend her. She is by far the worst Professor in TX for Calculus II. Her teaching method is horrible. Her tests are absolutely impossible. You are not allowed a graphing calculator just a regular basic one. She is a bad explainer and doesnt care. And she forces u to volunteer as a math tutor.
Ms. Kabranski is a very sweet woman. She is so nice to her students to the fact that students run over her. She gives challenging homework but the test is much easier. It does get a bit bored during the lectures due to an enormous amount of information, but if you can just follow and ask questions. It's an easy A class!
I took the class over the Summer. The class was a breeze. Mrs. Nena has video lessons on every section from the homework, so if you don't understand something, just listen to the video and it will become crystal clear. We were 30 students in the class and 24 of us ended up with an A. Mrs. Nena drops the lowest homework and test grades. She's a gem!
6 exams (60% of grade) and lots of homework (15%). 5% of the grade is tutoring at the Math Resource Center for 16 hours. EXTREMELY hard class, but Ms. Nena offers partial credit on all tests and tries to help students any way she can. She drops the lowest test and quiz grades, and will provide reviews for all exams. Pop quizzes once in a while.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken. I've had some hard classes before but at least I had hope in passing those. The lecture are sped through, homework is overally difficult. Practice exams are 50+ questions. I was open minded to this class but she made me hate math more. Highly don't recommend. lot of homework and the exams are 65% of grade.
I took Mrs. Nena a few years ago but I had to drop. However, I loved her and the way she explains things. She won't let you fall behind. You feel loved and taken care of. I took her class again this past summer and even though I work full time, I made a high B. She was trying to push me to make an A but I did not have time. She's born to teach A+++
Mrs. Nena provides videos that are very helpful, explaining step by step. The course is extremely well outlined for us to go at our own pace. She is nice, helpful, and approachable. She helped me at my last breathe. It was a fresh feeling that I will always be grateful for. I really enjoyed the class and I will take future courses from her.
Do not take this teacher if you love your GPA. She'll show you how to do the easy questions but not the ones that require more work, she makes you do that on your own. Also she's not understanding of certain situations when it comes to not having what other kids have. She'll fail you for suspicion before asking questions. Worst professor I've had.
I have no idea why she is rated a freaking 3.8!!! She is literally the best math professor i've ever had! I'm not the best at remembering formulas but she is available outside of class hours and she reminds you way in advance when things are due. She explains the material very well and she just really cares for everyone. Her emails are so cute!!!!!
Professor Kabranski is AMAZING, she really knows how to teach. All the homework was on MyMath lab and the reviews were just like the test. She is always available to help virtually and she genuinely cares.
Mrs. Kabranski is a great professor who really cares about her students and how they preform in her class. Her lectures are very detailed and responds quick to questions regarding the material. Some students might complain that her Bulgarian accent is hard to understand, but I never experienced that and really enjoyed hearing her talk.
If you know how to calculate without a calculator by all means take her class but if you dont jeez. No calculators allowed on tests!!! Prepare for A LOT of homework on mathlab. She means well and she does care for her students but the class is tough. If you miss her class at least one day I guarantee you, youll be lost for the rest of the unit.
I took her class online, she doesnt teach, we use Knewton Alta BUT she WILL tutor! Most assignments take 2+ hours to complete there are 4 assignments & 2 quizzes each week. Assignments due on WEDS & SAT. There are 3 tests & are 50% of your total grade. She WILL drop you for turning assignments in late. dont take her unless you wanna cry every day
I love Ms. Nena. She is the most caring and the most reachable professor I have ever had. I had called her for help at midnight and he hopped right in to help. The class was very easy. HomeworkQuizzesTests. No surprise anywhere. I only paid $9.99 for the homework software. Take her class. It is an easy A.
The class is in Knewton which only costs 10 bucks. Everything is very clear from day one. She has broken the material into tiny pieces, so you have to be very lame not to pass. Ask her for help and she will go above and beyond to help you out. She's an example of an outstanding professor. I loved the class. Easy and straightforward. Will take again
I loved the class. Mrs. Nena breaks the material into parts so it is not hard to understand or learn. Just going to class is enough to learn. I did not have time to do the homework as much as I wanted to, but the tests are all about what she teaches in class. It is an easy A. Show up and pass
I took her for MATH 1314, and she was amazing, very caring about her students. She is the type of person that puts their heart into work. She will go table by table to look at your work, and if you make mistakes, she will explain right the way. If you want to learn and not be judged for minor mistakes, take her! The tests are only 50% of the grade.
You cannot go wrong if you take Ms. Nena. She's the best professor I have ever had. The tests are every week on the material learn the week before. If you go to class, you will just memorize everything while she explains. She will answer all questions. She will never leave a student behind. Her bubbling personality inspires you to learn.
She cares about all of her students and makes sure you pass the class with an A. Even if you email her with any difficulties last minute, she's always available to help.
I absolutely loved Nena, math isnt my strong suit and I was lucky to be in a class where the instructor is understanding, helpful and genuinely wants to see you succeed. She gives a lot of work, like a lot, but always responded to me as quickly as possible when I needed extra help.
The only thing needed to pass the class with an A is to be in class. She will explain, repeat, ask you to repeat, practice. It is like no way you can fail this class if you go to class and participate. She is always positive and encouraging. I had a great time in this class. The tests are easy and reflect everything you practice in class.
My last math class was in 2004. I had forgotten everything from back then. Mrs. Nena spent countless hours helping me catch up. There are no words to explain how much I appreciate her help. I don't think that any other professor would have bothered with my emails every other day. She spent her weekends with me. Hat down to a professor born to teach
One of the best professors to this day. SO NICE and is so easily accessible. Emails back almost immediately. She was very understanding when I emailed her that I do not own a webcam, she had to make a whole new test and worked with me. She is a 10/10 professor. Take her class if you have the chance. She drops the lowest test grade.
Mrs. Nena was one of my favorite teachers in my life, she is so sweet and cared about everyone in her class, she treated us like how mom treats her kids. Algebra is a hard class, and you have to do so much work, but she helps a lot, and at the end of the semester she will drop the lowest scores, and she will do her best just to upgrade your grade.
Mrs. Kabraski is one of the most caring, sweet, and hardworking professors Ive ever had throughout college. Shes attentive and very much wants you to succeed and learn, and does everything in her power to do so, even with it being an online class.
I would take Mrs. Nena for all of my classes from now to infinity! She's amazing, caring, helpful, inspiring, you pick it. She made me love math and made it so easy that I forgot how much I hated math before. I wish she teaches history, biology, and all other college classes. I wish all professors were like her.
I did not fall asleep once during Prof. Kabranski's class. She is so full of energy that you can feed on her. Loving, smiling, and caring professor, who does everything to help you learn and succeed. I don't think anybody dropped from the class. We all did pretty well. We bought her a cake on the last day of class with sin 30 = 1/2 written on it.
Mrs. Nena will go out of her way to help, but her teaching was fast & felt like review. I thrived from daily outside tutoring & videos on Newton Alta, which hold you back if too many questions are wrong -making homework aversive, hard, and long. Multiple-choice exams & quizzes (online graphing calculator allowed). Generously drops low grades.
Professor Kabranski is a really passionate and caring professor. She goes above and beyond for every student.
Professor Kabranski is nice, but she's very horrible when it comes to testing. SHE DOESN'T LET US USE CALCULATORS on tests like she's supposed to. She makes us solve everything by hand and so when we take the tests, it takes about 3 hours to complete a total of 34 questions because she doesn't let us use calculators.
Ms nena is a very loving and happy person but I personally don't like her teaching. She doesn't teach but rather goes over question problems in class. There's a lot of homework and there are 7 test. She expects you to know exactly what shes talking about even if you have no clue.
She is so sweet & understanding! I took her from jan-march. Her class was through KnewtonAlta, there was a lot of homework & quizzes but it wasnt overwhelming if you did the lessons on KnewtonAlta. Since she did have alot of assignments, its almost impossible to fail her class & she does take off 10 points from every assignment you turn in late.
She tends to change due dates to later date without warning, so if you study all night there's a chance the test will be extended till next class. Also tends to cram the last topics in before finals, which is alot of homework on top of studying. It isn't so hard if you have prior pre-cal knowledge. Cumulative final, no midterm. Overall,alright-ish.
Great math professor, caring and excellent lecturer. Attended every class and had no trouble passing. She takes the time to ensure every student understands the material. The tests are every two weeks, so the amount of material on the tests is not overwhelming. I am taking her for Calc I in fall. Highly recommend!
Nena is the most kindest professor I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and their success. She made sure you had more than you needed to be successful to appeal to all types of learning. She is interested in her students succeeding, not stumping them to weed them out of college. She is truly an asset to TCCs campus and students.
professor nena is the only reason i survived this course. She is an absolute angel, she loves teaching. She did everything in her power the whole semester to make sure all her students were on the same page and that we all understood before we moved on. She was wonderful all around and i am so glad i took her for pre cal.
the homeworks were easy to complete as long as you saw the videos. theres great resources if needed. shes AMAZING. you can tell she cares so much. shes wonderful. I wish I could have her for every class
Super sweet teacher that grades fairly and is invested in her student's success. 10/10 would take her 100,000 times over.
Her grading and learning criteria was straight forward! It is super easy to use Knewton-Alta, which is mostly where everything will be done. She is caring and makes an effort to communicate with her students.
I appreciate the way Ms Nena cares about her students, you can tell she wants to be here and help us understand the material. If she was teaching Cal 2 next semester, I would take her again. She is great with responding to questions and explaining things.
Professor Nena was always there to help, even on weekends. She would stay and explain everything over and over until you got it. Her test reviews were great for figuring out what you needed to study. She gave lots of examples in class. She's one of my favorite teachers at TCC!
Truly cares about her students and their success. Always willing to work hard in helping us grasp concepts, even outside official office hours. Created an engaging "classroom" with discussion boards to help us feel connected. Great online course: Knewton Alta. Only 3 tests and a final with practice tests and lots of great optional review material.
Please never take this professor she failed every student at the final exam thinking we all cheat and now we reporting her ass I just wasted a whole semester she failed every student including the smart people worst professor including her writing
She's by far the worst Math teacher I came across. She's caring but she can't teach math. you have to learn everything yourself. her exams are so hard and nothing like the review. you will be living in the math center or library for the whole semester and still may not pass. if you ask me pass it's not worth it!
We DID cheat on the final exam, and I am deeply ashamed of my actions. Professor Nena did not deserve what we did to her. She was compassionate and willing to help us succeed in any way possible. We broke her trust. Despite this, she gave us a second chance by not reporting and helped us pass the class. I will be taking her class again in the Fall.
Prof. Nena went above and beyond to provide resources for the coursework. It was nice to have several different options to choose from. When I was struggling, she went out of her way to check in on me and make sure I was ok. I ended up with an A. One of the best teachers I have ever had and it's easy to tell she enjoys and takes pride in her work.
GREAT TEACHER! If I had the opportunity to take her class again I 100% would. She provided soooo many resources i LOVED it. Mrs. Nena was amazing and she would help you and teach you whenever you need it. She allowed me to understand math when I was confused.
Prof. Nena is the reason I survived this course. she's an absolute angel, she loves teaching and that can be seen throughout her teaching and enthusiasm for the material. she did everything in her power to make sure all her students were on the same page before we moved on. she's wonderful all around and I am so glad I took her for calc 1.
Mrs. Nena is awesome. She sincerely cares about her students. The homework load is heavy, but it needs to be so you can learn. The classroom was active and engaging overall. Mrs. Nena would ask the class if everyone understood, and if there was a question, she would take the time to explain. The way she's able to simplify these concepts helped me.
Since it's a hard course, you need to practice the questions the professor gives. There is a review over every 3-4 sections and a test over every 2 reviews. There are 4 tests altogether. Most of the tests are multiple-choice. The professor is very engaged. Undoubtedly it made her tired, but I'm glad she's so enthusiastic about making connections.
Prof. Nena is an amazing professor who is very passionate about her job. You can tell right away it seems to be something she truly enjoys. She lets you work on the assignments ahead of time which was awesome. I did the homework before class, so I made the most out of it. There is a lot of information in this class, so make sure you be proactive.
i took her summer class, all of the videos of lectures were on canvas. i never emailed her about anything because i had no questions, her grades were pretty straight forward. I don't like how the hw website works but that's not her fault. If you actually do the hw you'll be fine for the tests. anyone who's mad at her just doesn't like math.
Professor Nena is passionate about teaching and genuinely wants students to succeed. The course is challenging, but engaging with the material and using resources like Unstuck AI can really help. Overall, a rewarding experience.
Prof. Nena is the most caring professor I have had. She is very encouraging, and was willing to jump through hoops to help us at almost any time, and gave us many chances to succeed. There are reviews for the exams, and the final exam is over one chapter only. I recommend her to anybody who has math anxiety. She is a gem.
I appreciated that the assignments were graded on completion, making it easy to score 100 if you answered correctly and finished them. Knewton was simple to use, and you could keep practicing. The tests were like the practice tests. Ms. Nena was incredible—she went above and beyond to support us and provided plenty of resources to help us succeed.
Prof. Kabranski has done an outstanding job, responding to questions, and demonstrating flexibility when life events have arisen. She is one of the best instructors I've ever had, and her commitment to ensuring we learn what we need, along with her willingness to provide assistance, has truly made a difference.
Professor Kabranski has done an outstanding job creating this course and responding to questions. Her prompt, thorough email responses and swift resolution of minor issues are greatly appreciated. Her clear and engaging teaching style, along with her dedication to student success, makes her one of the best instructors I've ever had.
Professor Kabranski has done an excellent job creating this course and responding to questions. Her prompt emails and swift resolution of issues, like software glitches, are appreciated. Her clear, engaging teaching style and dedication to student success make her one of the best instructors I've had. I've gained valuable skills and knowledge.
Mrs. Nena is a great Prof. for an online class! She has communicated efficiently and effectively and sends words of encouragement which I love to see. It gets me motivated and that means a lot cause I don't particularly like math so getting through the course would have been 10 times harder without her and how she's willing to help any time of day.
All recorded lectures, lots of assignments if you are a lazy person don't risk. Exam proctored.
The notes, quizzes, and homework were all helpful tools. Prof. Nena is genuinely caring, and the discussion board assignments helped lighten the mood and made the class more enjoyable. I made good use of the office hours, which were very helpful. Overall, the course was wonderful, with clear expectations and plenty of resources to help us succeed.
Super difficult class if you're not good with math, overall Ms. Nena is nice and good at her job but online classes are hard when it comes to contacting teachers or asking for help. If you don't get a great score on the entrance exam this is a mandatory class and its accelerated. Overall its fine.
started this class because her reviews were quite good however she goes extremely fast while teaching and expects you to grasp the concepts as fast as she's going. when you ask questions she can be helpful but also passive aggressive. likes to cold call on students and if you don't know the answer she makes you feel dumb. also sm homework
Honestly, it is the worst class I've took, when she teaches, she expects people to know the material already before she gives you a cold shoulder when you do ask questions. I have gotten an A in Algebra and PreCal and this is the first time I had to drop a class because I could make it and never could grasp the concepts. PLEASE DONT TAKE IT!!!!!!
Professor Nena is a sweet lady, however if you aren't someone who is good with math in general this will be a difficult class. She moves very quickly through the material expecting the class to understand the concept immediately. Then on the exams she only allows a 4-function calculator, which makes going through complex questions very difficult.
While there is a lot of homework, she posts all of it at the beginning of the semester so you can go ahead. Nena truly does care how you do in her class and will be up at 4AM with you explaining problems. The homework is a completion grade but she does have quizzes before every class basically (4-6 questions usually).
I usually struggle a lot with math but luckily this class has been so easy to understand I really like the way this class is put together. I found most enjoyable was her ability to present math concepts in a clear and accessible manner, making it easy for me to understand and grasp the material.
I am not usually one to write reviews, but I had to speak up after seeing unfair comments about Prof. Nena from my current Precalc classmates. Total lies. This is honestly the easiest class I've taken, all because Prof Nena explains everything so clearly. If you're failing or dropping, that's on you. Easy A for anyone who shows up and tries.
Ms. Kabranski really helped me get through this course, and the amount of resources provided, including the online learning program, were fantastic. It's a lot of work, but if you're even a little inclined to math, it's pretty straightforward and easy. Would take again if needed.
-Organized -Caring -Talented Mathematician -Provides a wide array of learning resources. -Prompt with email responses. I took Algebra as a 4 week summer class, she was invested 100% in giving us a positive learning environment every day of the week. Not an easy class, but you will be very well prepared for future math courses.
Professor Nena is such a sweet and caring person. She genuinely does want all her students to succeed, and has personally given me multiple chances to do so as per the rules of TCC. I may fail this class due to my own irresponsibility, and I would take it only with her again. I truly enjoyed her class and having her as a professor.
Ms. Nena is one of the best math professors I've had. She explains clearly, truly cares, and makes class welcoming. Her passion shows. If math isn't your thing, take her. She makes it make sense. Weekly quizzes are easy. Tests match the homework. No surprises.
The class was very manageable. The test is 65%. Class consist of Knewton homework and quizzes, discussion board, and the tests. The tests are monitored on lockdown browser. She has notes that you can print and follow along with videos that are made. Very easy to access. She answers her emails even in the middle of the night. A++ professor.
Professor Kabranski is amazing! She breaks things down clearly and gives plenty of resources to practice. Her chapter reviews, notes, videos, and group quizzes really helped me understand the material. Easily one of the best math teachers I've had. There are 4 tests, test 4 is the final exam, 65% of the grade. Webassign is 25% and classwork is 10%.
Professor Nena is always willing to help students. The practice assignments don´t let you complete them until you get a 100 to make sure you understand the content, and the quizzes are only 4-7 questions. There is 4 tests (3 unit exams and 1 final) that added together are worth 60% of your grade; however, the practice tests prepare for them.
I love Professor Nena. She is very sweet, and always willing to work with students if they need help. Math is my least favorite subject and one I struggled horribly with, but with her I found myself enjoying it. I wish all my math teachers had been as great as she is.
She is very energetic, gives formula quizzes, and group quizzes. The test aren't too difficult. She gives extra credit, there are review modules that get counted into the exam grades. Would definitely take again.
holy moly its just so much work
