She has to be the absolute worst professor I've ever had, I have never met someone so rude who seems to actually want their students to fail. Several of her students went to the board of chem to complain about her and many of us even went to the president. If you want to pass this class plan on getting a tutor because you won't pass otherwise.

TERRIBLE TEACHER! Does not know how to explain info in a way for students to understand. Emails you to study certain things for exam then DOES NOT put it on exam. Questions are met with an attitude or openly ignored! Very defensive! No explanation of equations! Tutoring needed! Does not care if students understand anything! WHY IS SHE A TEACHER?!?

worst professor i've ever taken. she swears that her pps will be on the test but puts topics from the TLOs instead. everyone keeps on failing her tests and she can't explain topics when asked for help. i do not recommend. she gets very defensive or ignores students when they ask her for help also, on the rare occasion she answers them.

Professor Onyia is one of the rudest and hardest professor I have ever experienced here at Adelphi. Professor Onyia stares at the powerpoint and just reads off of them. She will also give an attitude when asked questions and roll her eyes. Her tests are irrelevant compared to the material. I AM WARNING YOU DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO PASS!!!!

Professor Onyia is by far the worst professor i have had at Adelphi. Not only does she have no idea how to teach or even what she is teaching but she is extremely rude. Every question is either not answered or answered with an attitude. I spent a majority of my time in this class being yelled at. If you wanna pass hire a tutor!!! STAY AWAY FROM HER

Professor Onyia was by far the WORST college professor that I had. Nasty attitude & doesn't care about students when you ask questions; she either does not know the answer, or they are ignored. She uses other professor's tests, and what she tells you to study for is NOT on the exam. You have to teach yourself the material, DONT TAKE HER CLASS!

She is by far the worst professor Ive ever had. She does not care about students at all. She only cares about what is the easiest thing for her. When students would ask questions she often skips over them or straight up says no. Ive had so many problems with this professor. Do not take her class!! Please do yourself that favor.

Dont take her she is awful! doesnt help students at all when they ask for help. I had to teach myself everything this semester she did not help me learn one bit. She obviously doesnt care about her students and their grades because I have asked for help and she responded with "well you should know, Im not helping". So u need lots of luck w her

When students ask questions in class she gets frustrated and doesnt go over anything or clarify. She is not avalible or willing to help students do well and does not answer emails that question her grading. She failed me on a homework assignment that was submitted 30 min utes late even though I notified her earlier that I was in the hospital.

This is the nastiest professor I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE HER. She does not care about helping students do well. Her teaching is absolutely horrendous. Her tests are nothing like the review and she gives questions she never taught before. Be prepared to teach yourself, or get a good rec prof who can answer your questions because she will refuse.

Easily the worst professor Ive ever had. Rude and uninterested in her class. Difficult accent that does not help with text heavy slides. Little to no explanation given on practice problems. Flies through slides and makes tests on never before seen material. Wastes time by critiquing basic math and standing in silence while flipping through slides.

She is very difficult to understand both because of her accent and because she does not explain nor know how to teach. She is rude, disrespectful, and does not care about her students. She will spend class flying through slides with no explanations and then give an exam that has material she has never taught. So stressful!!!!!

I work for my grades and I only managed to get a B in this class, even with tutoring and studying at home. Her review sheets only covers 30% of what is actually on the exams. She is available in office hours but isnt really helpful. Do not take her. The textbook isnt used in class at all.

Shes never on time for her office hours making the hour available to you is only 15 mins of your time. She should not teach phy chem she should teach chem 100. Its like your paying to watch youtube. Her powerpoints are very unclear.

DONT TAKE HER! She is a horrible chem professor, to say the least. She does not answer your questions, instead she stares at you like your question is stupid. She is always spaced out and plays with her hair rather than teaching us the content. If you want to pass, do not take her.

DO NOT TAKE HER, if you dont want to waste your time or money, avoid taking her at all costs. She looks at you like you are dumb if you ask her a question and gets mad, but she always says "ask questions if you have any". She doesn't even lecture she shows us videos on youtube during the entire class. She just plays with her hair during class.

Professor does not correctly or clearly explain coursework/homework. Lots of homework with no feedback other than point deductions. When I tried reaching out personally via email, didn't respond until a day or two later with a response that never answered my original question.

She is a very harsh grader. She scrutinizes each and every error in your lab report. She assigns excessive amounts of homework. I averaged about 20 pages per lab report. This left me with little time to study for my other lecture class. In addition, she provides few answers regarding the structure of the lab report.

there is just so much to say about Prof. Onyia. The woman is clueless when it comes to lab. Her nor the TA know what goes on. She is sweet on the inside and wants her students to succeed but she doesn't come off that way. She yells and talks to us like we are 5 year olds. Dr. Onyia has got to be the worst professor I have ever had in my college career. She spammed students with tons and tons of homework, only read off textbook slides during lecture, and did not have a clear curriculum the entire semester. She also has many hidden assignments that she expects students to know about without telling them anything.

This professor is genuinely the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. She has zero respect for students, refuses to answer many questions in class, and makes little effort to ensure that students can understand topics. The pacing of the class is so off that you end up taking tests in the middle of a different module. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Tests are very difficult and lots of material. Her grading criteria forces you to take the final and pass it with a good grade. 10% participation, 25% lab, 15% quizzes, 10% for 3 tests, and 20% for final. If you do bad on one test you will have to study EVERYTHING before the final. She yells at students and watches over everyone like a hawk. DNT!

Literally screamed at me for trying to show her my medical device. Answered students passively aggressively as she didn't want to repeat information. Blamed students for not understanding when she barely skimmed over the topic. would never recommend anyone to take her class and honestly, I feel bad for anyone unlucky enough to have to.

She has social-emotional issues. Only knows how to yell. Gives TONS of HW and has no problem deducting 10 pts for leaving out the yr in the date or if you dare write the title on the wrong line. Grades tests extremely critically and is unreasonable to try to talk to. I did well on tests but it is no thanks to her. I taught myself the entire course.

Funniest teacher ever. If you don't get the answer correct you get the whole thing incorrect on the test. If you get the answer correct but don't do dimensional analysis it is all incorrect. All the tests are cumulative. Her grade shows how well she is teaching so if we are doing bad she will curve it to make herself look better. Screams at student

If I were a cat, I would have two lives left after taking this course with Professor Oniya. By far the WORST Professor at Adelphi. Lots of HW assignments and very disorganized. Class time was used ineffectively, and she never actually taught anything. I had to find outside tutors to teach me the material from scratch. Stay away and do not take!!

bad professor do not take! she will laugh at your failure and mock you for not succeeding. She likes to say "you should know this already" or like "I already taught you guys this why did you get it wrong."

Her accent is super heavy and nasaly, often making her sound like elmo and honestly its completely unintelligible. She is rude to students, her being a bad prof leads to an unserious environment which makes it hard to focus. She gets sidetracked & most of her lecture is just us doing questions, barely goes over them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SAVE URSELF

I have never wore a seatbelt before coming to class. The prof cannot speak well as she has a thick accent and she does not help in labs nor does she know how to do it herself. She is confused when u ask a question and yells as well. She just lets u do the lab and thats it, no help shes on the phone and tells u to do it ur self.

SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH, THROWING THE PAPERWORK AT YOU AND TELLING YOU TO DO IT. She called security on two girls in my class for no reason because they had their phones out. Security took the girls' side and reported the professor. Everyone in our class wrote a complicated argument against her. She kicked us out, the teacher's assistant.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. If I had the option to get run over by a car or have her as my teacher, I would get run over. She does not teach. She throws work at you without even explaining it. When you ask questions, she gets upset and yells. Wow, one of the worst professors I've ever had.

Be prepared to teach yourself because she doesn't teach a thing. She posts presentations you have to share with the class and doesn't mention one word of it in class. She has no clue how to do lab and makes the TA do everything who also has no clue what to do

She is tenured so Adelphi can not fire her. Everyone in the Science building does not like her. She knows how to work the system and the "cards" she can play to not get in trouble. Never take her. Her department knows about how bad she is and they are stuck. Her students are stuck. Avoid!

Professor Onyia is the worst. She's rude, cold, and penalizes students for walking in on time. She talks in a low, mumbling voice — you can't understand a thing. Asking questions feels like a crime. She makes chemistry miserable. Avoid her class if you want to keep your sanity.

This class makes you wonder what you did in a past life to deserve this.

If I had to choose between 2 days of being water boarded or taking this class, I'm taking that water.

She must've been severely abused to be this way. She needs to be in a textbook and studied.

if u not religious pick one and start praying. hard to understand lecture wise, only good thing is she'll put you in groups for both her lectures and labs so the workload is shared. otherwise run in the other direction. curves everything cuz no one is doing good anyway. i wouldnt recommend

She is the worst teacher that I ever had. She curves all the tests because the class average is always below a 70. She does not teach and all she does is give worksheets. Most of the time in class she just sits on her phone or stands up doing nothing. She has a disgusting attitude and is incredibly rude. She also takes off points when you are late.

Her demeanor is very nasty. Tons of homework and she doesn't even teach in class. She gives us a daily worksheet and just tells us to do it. Didn't learn the whole semester BUT one good thing is that she curves the tests like crazy and lets us work in groups so you're bound not to fail. Has no problem sitting on her phone the whole class. So bad.
