Fun Class, Interesting and Clear lectures
Very smart, intelligent and funny. Overall, great class.
Nick is a great professor! He's new to Deanza, so BE NICE! He's very willing to meet with you outside of class. Is available online for any questions through e-mail, so he's accessible outside of school as well. Take Nick for Philosophy! You'll have fun, learn a lot and make a friend!
Very easy, only tests and attendance count for your grade. Gives you all the notes in a reader so if you miss class you know what was talked about. However, the subjects are quite boring and he tends to be repetitive so we fall behind the schedule he hands out in the syllabus and then its a rush at the end.
Nick is a cool guy; he's no ****, down to earth, and always very clear. Sometimes philosophy can get boring, but he always throws in some jokes to keep you awake. My only complaint would be the students in the class. Note to potential students: you don't know more than Nick or any of the philosophers being studied, so sit back and shut up.
This class`s grade was about four midterms. Thats all. NO HW. NO Extra Credit. Nick was obviously very passionate about philosophy and sometimes even a bit clear. I would recommend this class to any one who does really good in tests.
Nick is a brilliant person, but is down to earth and friendly. Very clear and patient, even with students who have 1,000 questions or who try and railroad his lectures by babbling about random, incoherent ideas completely unrelated to the ideas he is presenting.
Nick is fun, charismatic, very helpful and interesting. Anyone that states he is boring is obviously not listening to his lecture.
Great teacher, loves the subject and knows the material backwards and front. Talk to him beforehand if you are going to miss a paper or test and he will work it out.
Nick is awesome. Philosophy usually is boring, but he is so cool that we honestly never felt bored. He's so helpful just study hes study guide and your set. hes so nice and kind and understands you. I truely start loving philosophy after taking his class.
This class was pretty easy. Some of the topics really got me interested. He's a pretty chill guy. Just go to class and take notes and you'll get a B or higher
Great teacher. Very easy, very entertaining, and teaches the material very well. Really nice guy, very approachable, knows his stuff, and you do learn quite a bit. There's a lot of discussion in the class, which keeps it interesting. You probably don't have to go to class every day, but you should, cause it's a fun class. Fully recommend taking him
Agree with the previous users on Nick's knowledge & personality, esp. on being approachable. Thought-provoking, intriguing lectures. Offers good breakdowns of the material and does it so well that most students understand the ideas presented right at the spot. Clear & comprehensible even when covering a difficult philosopher without oversimplifying
He was really understand when I had problems with not being able to attend class. He's good at hampering the information you need in your head and the tests are to the point. If you take notes and listen in class, you'll do fine. He's really nice too!
Very Easy Teacher, I would take him all my Phil class! 1)His class is very enjoyable, sometimes he has some movie show in the class. 2)His HW is easy. There are some reading, still easy. 3)Funny and clear explaination. He would listen to you 4)Tests are easy, I have got a MC test in his class XD~ 5)Handsome look & DJ voice. He is a great teacher.
This guy is like Keanu Reeves with a Ph.D. in psychology. He is really laid back and the class is easy but you really end up learning a lot. I'd recommend him for anyone.
Highly recommend!!
Nick gives a diffrent approach to philosophy. He taught diffrent philosophers such as Kant and Plato and made their ideas easier to understand by giving examples from his own life.Overall, it`s pretty easy to get an A in this class if you show up and listen.
Mr. Baiamonte is probably the most chill teacher at De Anza. His tests are exactly what he talks about in class and he is beyond fair in grading. I would take his class again anyday and he is really charming (:
Professor Baiamonte is very kind! His PHIL 1 class is super easy. He's very straightforward and clear when lecturing. He can be very boring at times but I don't blame him cuz philosophy's a boring subject. He drills things into your brain. He oversimplifies things though. However, his tests are super easy and super short. The papers are easy.
Nick is one of the nicest teachers I've ever had. His lectures are very simple to understand and the tests come straight from his lectures, if you take good notes you should have no problem acing it. Theres very low reading in his class but just make sure you come to class. I got an easy A.
Baiamonte is hella awesome. If you like learning but don't like doing a ton of hw and writing...take him!
He's an awesome teacher, very clear and very funny. He always wears suits, and it's kind of funny I saw him once at Santana Row and he was wearing a suit there as well. I recommend taking it for honors, a little extra work but it's worth it! I got an A+
Nick is at times a stand up comedian. He expects people to be late and to ditch class, and it seems he designs his lectures to give everybody a fair chance to learn (even if they missed a lot of class) He loves showing movies and is very intelligent. His stories are funny, lectures are comprehensive enough you don't have to read, easy A!
dope class, hella nice guy. tests are easy and he give lots of extra credit. I enjoyed every time i was at class and the reader he assigns for the class has all of his powerpoints in it.
great teacher makes learning fun, kinda reminds me of paulie shore
Totally awesome teacher. The most that I have ever learned at De Anza. He should be at a major university. He is also very nice, dresses great, and makes class fun.
Dr. Baiamonte makes philosophy very interesting for all. There are 3 tests and 1 paper, which are easy if you pay attention. Attendance is mandatory (he doesn't take role but remembers). I am a science major but really enjoyed his philosophical teachings. If schedule allows I'd take him again just for fun.
great teacher, pretty easy..cooh dude
He is very easy and easy going. I can guarantee he is the nicest teacher on EARTH. I will tell you why. I was late to class and missed the quiz... i asked him for the quiz at the end of class and he let me! Another time, I turned in the quiz. After 5 mins, I found out and told him that I made a dumb mistake. He said, "go change it"
Great, easy, entertaining teacher. He has a way with his lecture to make them interesting to think into. His tests are SO easy. Just read over the reader and the answers are all right there. No need to take notes and it's a 5 quiz class. Score A's on all those and you're set.
Awesome guy. Fav prof at De Anza. Interesting to talk to outside of class. Didn't study at all for his exams but ended up with the best two scores of the class for the first two exams. If you go and take good notes you will do the exact same.
Dr. B is one of the greatest teachers on campus. Just attend class, relax and listen to some great philosophy, 3 super easy tests, one paper. Walk out with your A, and you actually really learned something! plus he's hot to look at. ;)
Easy A+. He gives 6 quizes with only 10 questions, 6th quiz is the final. Either drops the lowest quiz or just makes the entire final bonus points for your grade. You can't help but learn, even if you don't pay attention. Text book is just a print of all of his slides and any reading materials he may cover. He makes PHIL fun and interresting.
Easy class. 6 Quizzes the whole course. The 6th quiz is the final and he drops the lowest quiz.
omg Dr. Baiamonte rocks!!!!
Class can be pretty boring. His exams are easy. Got an A. No sweat.
dr baiamonte is definitely a cool teacher. but just KNOW that you will never be let out early, and you will often stay in class for longer than the scheduled time. He starts class early, lets you out late. you start at 10:30? no, you will start at 10:25. you get out at 11:20? No. you get out at 11:30. Well he is a good teacher, deserves respect
I wish every professor was like Dr. Baiamonte! He makes philosophy fun! Got an A+ on his class three quarters ago. He is very smart and cute too!
I really have no interest for the Chinese philosophy but this guy makes it pretty smooth for me. You can count on him to be extremely well-dressed, go through at least 2 water bottles per lecture, and have occasional rants that suddenly turn him into a comedian. He's so intelligent, it makes him so HOT. yes,i have a crush on a crush on him!
i took two classes with him and he's one of the coolest teachers at de anza. people don't appreciate him like they should but i guarantee you won't find a professor as chill as him anywhere else!
Easy A. Midterms and Final are based on his lectures and powerpoints. If you read the powperpoint files he sends to your emails two or three time before the exams, you will spend no more than 15 munites on your exams and get an A for sure.
Baiamonte is a great man ? open-minded, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You will learn a lot. Do not worry about the tests and your grade, just take any of his classes and have fun. You will not regret!
He is very helpful when students have questions. He is lenient and funny sometimes. If you study then you will be fine. The quizzes weren't hard but still require you to study. I would take more philosophy with him for sure!
Great teacher! I wouldn't rate him the highest because I will put my honest feedback for him. I got a great grade and I felt that I earned it. He is a funny guy. When you need help, ask him after class. Even though you're shy, he is willing to help you, but you need to do your part. Dr. Baiamonte actually teaches you some important life lessons.
This class can be a little boring if you have no interest in philosophy. However, if you do, he's THE professor for you. He's extremely knowledgeable and quite nice, if you actually get to know him. Beware that he has a strict attendance policy though so be on-time! 3 quizzes, 1 paper, in-class movies, and very informational lecturing. Take him!
-He always wears a suit. -He seems to always pick on the small asian girls in front of the class. -He will accept you into the class no matter what. -Grading is easy and simple. -No real need to buy the reader, just take notes. -He loves movies -No matter what you wont be bored in this class, took 3 of his classes, and considering a major in phil.
not easy b/c he is easy, but makes everything seem easy and understandable. reader is optional because of price. he is very fun and picks the perfect words and time to cuss. very educated, has a doctorate. highly recommend. no homework just reading... tests are all multiple choice
Well, he is definitely a delicious looking man, but I do tend to get a little bored. Not that he's boring, because he's not, it's just that you'll either be really into the subject matter, or really uninterested. I was uninterested, so I skipped a lot of class, but his (expensive) reader contains all of his ppt slides, so it doesn't matter that muc
He is a good teacher, and is pretty easy. Im rating him high mainly because his lectures are interesting and his clarity is superb. Philosophy can be a boring subject for some, but I like it because it teaches you life lessons and makes you think about life as a whole. He lectures off his powerpoint, so study those before his tests and you'll be ok
Knows what he's talking about. All you gotta do is pay attention to the lectures or read the book if you want to do well on the tests. Tests are decent if you have a basic understanding of what's going on. You may fall asleep at times, but it's probably the subject. This guy gives ridiculous yet funny examples that help make sense of the material.
Baiamonte is an awesome teacher. He teaches very interesting topics and provides very clear ppt slides. Go to class and study the slides and you should be fine. 3 exams (MC)and 1 paper. Engage in class discussion, I promise you won't regret it-- even if it is to ask a "dumb" question!
Took PHIL 1,2,3,4,14B with him. Very professional and takes questions. Uses films as a method to explain deep philosophical ideas. Grade is based on 3 or 4 short exams and 1 paper. Shouldn't be hard. Able to communicate effectively so everyone can understand the most complex philosophical theory. On top of his game and helpful, one of the best here
he's pretty chill. class was kinda boring though. everything you need to know for 3 short tests is in the course reader plus 1 short paper. he could've been more organized with the course plan, we didnt even finish all the material. not very challenging but you guys are reading this to know if he is easy.
He is easily the best teacher i have ever had. i wish i took him for my first phil class (phil 2), but i didn't know about him so i got stuck w/a bad teacher. he's great, the best, 100% worth it. i wish he taught more, i wanted to take existentialism next quarter, but it doesnt work w/my sched. :( best teacher ever, & will remain my fav teacher 4ev
bai is awesome! i have had him 4 classes. he sometimes can be boring and sometimes funny. exams: all multiple choices, super easy, only 13-25 quesitons. Study ppt, then you will ace it. He has good memories. He always wear a suit to school, but if you wanna see him different outfit, check him out in facebookXD
HE'S ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. I hated Phillosophy when I signed up for the class as GE. But when the quarter ended, I don't think it's so bad. EASY CLASS, but you will still learn a ton from it. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
He is AMAZING! He sticks up for what is right and is extremely passionate. Everything you could possibly want in a teacher
He is probably one of the best teacher I've EVER had. I love his class. He's so dreamy. I wonder if he's tasty..
I've taken Professor Baimonte for 3 classes. PHilosophy 1,3 and 4. I keep coming back for more because he is so passionate about what he preaches and you get entranced by how much knowledge he possesses and how eloquently he speaks about the subject. He's a wonderful caring teacher that will teach you everything you need to know about the subject.
Probably the best professor I've ever had. Extremely easy A, but you will learn a lot from him. Very passionate about the subject, and hits the metaphorical mark dead center. He explains things very clearly, cares about his students, and has an excellent taste in movies. I've taken Phil 1&2 with him, and if I take any more classes in Philosophy I'l
Philosophy has never been so clear to understand till i took this professor!!
He is the coolest teacher ever. Taught philosophy in a unique way. Easy A. Loves teaches and is truly interested in the wellbeing of the student. Take this class!!
he is a good teacher! make sure you study the slide shows for his test because some of the questions are confusing..
You have to attend this class or he does get mad and will confront you. I learned a lot from his lectures, and you can purchase all of his notes at the printing store (may be required). Tests were difficult for me at least, but I did learn a lot about philosophy and ended up with a B.
For anyone genuinely interested in philosophy who has a modicum of knowledge of the subject, you are bound to find that you will not agree much with this teacher, he is a continental philosopher who loves Heidegger and Derrida. Most people who love him are new to philosophy or were already in his camp. He is a good teacher overall though.
Dr.Baiamonte is super easy, and he's really funny too. but the subject is really boring, I wouldn't take it if this class was not required for my major. Give him a try! cool guy
Show up to class and listen to what he's telling you. Youll do fine. Awesome teacher.
If you need to take a Phil course to transfer, take this class at De Anza while you still can!! I ended up having to take another Phil class at UCD, and my prof. is a grad STUDENT and very unorganized. Dr. Baiamonte is an EXCELLENT professor; very caring and entertaining. Ask him to tell the Jeremy Bentham story!
I took him at Santa Clara University. What a great teacher. You will learn alot of interesting things that apply to now. TAKE HIM you wont regret it.
Really Funny Teacher. Easy class, Ended up signing up for the Honors Phil class @ De Anza & got an A. Come to class, listen to the lectures, & you'll do fine. He's a hot teacher (for the ladies)! Nice to look at :]
You can't learn much. I'm sure you have no interest in Phil after taking this. People don't even attend class because they are damn bored.
Boring class. NO gain at all.
Super boring and meaningless.People don't even want to attend class.
It looks like the three bad comments below this were written by the same student, and the rest were rated by the professor. i have to admit that the class is so boring but it's an easy A class.
Class is extremely easy, just buy the reader and listen to him. 4 small quizzes, easy to calculate your grade. Informational powerpoints. You SHOULD attend class for information included in powerpoints. Shows relevant movies, which show up on quizzes. He knows what he's talking about (compared to the rest of DA's Philosophy department). Recommended
One word for this professor: wow! He really knows what he's talking about, a real philosopher! I don't think Japanese Philosophy is his cup of tea but nevertheless sparked many interesting discussions in class. Loved the movies! Seen some of them before which makes the final a bit easier. Highly recommend his class
One of the most boring professors I've had at De Anza. Class was almost too easy, it was a joke. One of the questions on a test, mind you this is a Chinese philosophy course, was "True or False: Confucius was Chinese".
the most intelligent professor at de anza by far. take his class if you want learn about philosophy and get a easy grade.
He is an amazing teacher, very easy going and laid back.Always willing to help and very understanding. Tests are multiple choice, some are easy and some are hard.I am glad to have taken a class with him. He is a gentleman.
He is very entertaining and funny. Since he's also a film teacher, his class incorporates a lot of classics and keeps it interesting. Grade is based on three essays, all based on notes and films you watch. Absolutely recommend!
Professor Baiamonte is a cool guy I guess but he seems incredibly full of himself. I had really high hopes for this class but was let down. The class is pretty unorganized and we did not follow the syllabus. The lectures can be extremely boring and there was always this guy sleeping on the floor by the door (wtf?). Overall it was okay at best.
Well, I was looking forward to this class but it turned out to be disappoionteing. Very unorganized teacher. The green sheet he gave us stated that we would have tests. But half way through the quarter he started to make us turn in 3 esssays.
Very excellent teacher! Fantastic use of films to explain concepts. I have no idea what the other people are talking about. As long as you attend, the class is informative and very interesting.
This class was unusual. We studied the nature of good and evil. The Prof used lots of examples from psychology, history, and film. Great class! The best that I have had at De Anza. Not too hard, just show up and follow the reader for tests.
hes really smart&doesnt waste any class time; very lecture-based with powerpoints. makes sense. no homework, couple of easy quizzes but just read the reader&youll be fine. take him
Very fun class! This teacher is hilarious!! Lots of cool old films that I have never seen but loved. Well organized. Lecture based course with good powerpoints. Very fair. Not too hard.
Ridiculously good-looking.
i really loved him! Super nice and passionate about philo. he was great! i took him for Indian philosophy and although it was boring sometimes the work was so easy! we had to write three papers and they were only 2 pages long. & watch documentary's about India. I must say if you actually pay attention you'll find a new appreciation of the culture.
the BEST professor I've ever taken! I've taken various philosophy classes with other professors but Baiamonte breakdown philosophy so clearly that allowed me to really chew up the material! He makes philosophy so easy and still learn tons from it!
Awesome professor!!!
Excellent professor. Very clear and makes the material interesting to listen to. If you need take a philosphy class, deffinitely try to take his.
attend class, movies are fun to watch lectures are boring however necessary for exams. you will receive an A if you follow this guidelines. Whoever wrote he was hot must have 0/20 vision
Easy class, and fun
The only teach I will ever love going to class....
Class is based off of 3-4 papers (3-5pgs each depending if you are honors or not). Class in really interesting if you are interested in philosophy. The second half of the classes is pretty much watching Akira Kurosawa films.
Material is a little difficult just because he covers Decartes, Hume, and Kant. Baiamonte explains it pretty clearly and the exams are wayyyyy too easy; multiple choice and fill in the blank.
Funniest teacher ever. Hella chill, just go to class, sleep during lectures, and then go home with an A. Sometimes when alot of ppl ditch, he does a pop quiz (where you can answer "i dont know" and get full credit) everybody passes the pop quizzes as long as they're awake. Quizzes are easy as well. No final.
Teacher is very good looking and overdressed but class is extremely boring. Quizzes are easy if you are interested in his material. If you are bored, you will fail miserably. Ok class for credit but avoid if you can find a better teacher.
Awesome teacher took a few classes with him already, super clear one of the top instructor at De Anza by far. I didn't find the class boring at all and everyone around me felt that he was a excellent instructor as well, (highly recommend). He fills up fast so get in quick (his humor/wit is also hilarious on a side note).
AMAZING!!! I want to marry him!!!
Great teacher if you're even just a little interested in the subject. Pop quizzes in class so make sure you attend! Many people failed in my class because they skipped. Overall, easy class filled with good vs. evil, Woody Allen, and Baiamonte's witty jokes. Definitely would take another class of his when I can!
If you don't have interest in Philosophy, this class will be hell... 3 Quizzes, 2 Papers and Pop Quizzes, out of 100 points total for the class. I find the class extremely boring and the seats are way too uncomfortable. The reader is very complicated to read and absorb, good luck if you plan to take
Excellent teacher. Very organized. Not boring at all. Shows fantastic films to help us understand the subject. Highly recommend.
Great class and teacher!Took the distance class which was very organized, informative and the subjects each week def. caught my attention. A couple of short quizzes every week based on readings, videos & vid lectures. Easy to pass the quizzes as long as you read and watch the videos. Made Phil class intriguing and not so boring. Def recommend!
Yea, it's an easy class but I don't feel like I've learnt anything at all. He grades easy but he doesn't care to teach. :\ Class mostly consists of his half-hearted lectures, and A LOT OF MOVIES (which is okay haha). If you want to learn I don't really recommend him.
I took his Phil 20B class and decided to try his online PHIL4 class! I love him, his classes are straight forward and he tells you exactly what to expect. You watch a TON of extremely interesting films.
Great class. Work is easy, quizzes are straight forward. Showing up to class isn't mandatory, but there are "pop quizzes". Definitely would recommend.
I had his online phil2 class, and it was easy. Two short weekly quizzes, one based off the reading/video lectures and the other off a movie (you have to buy them from him online along with the textbook, seems pirated lol). You /will/ need to watch movie to pass its quiz, but with the other quiz you can ctrl+F on video scripts (try to read too tho).
I don't get why everyone thinks his classes are so easy, the guy doesn't teach, all he does is gives a bunch of useless reading material that have nothing to do with his tests and he times his tests like crazy so you don't really have time to look up the answers. Hardest online class I've taken so far!!!
LOVED the class! I love films and analyzing them and that's exactly what this class was! He is hilarious and very clear in his lectures. Very nice guy! Seems like a hardass at first (locks door, kicks you out at the first sign of a cellphone) but he's really a sweet guy after the first week. Come to class and take notes and you'll be fine!
Good class. I really enjoyed his choice of videos we watched in class. They were very interactive. He also makes it very clear whats on the midterm and final and wants you to succeed. Only criticism is his lectures are dry but he makes up for it with awesome videos. Definitely recommend regardless. Take him
Dr B is my man! I have taken a stack of his classes and I loved every one. If there were more to take I would take those too. He helps the student relate to the material in relevant terms and he wears great suits every day. Every day! Take him now.
I took 14C and Phil 3 with him at the same time and got A's in both classes! Didn't attend some classes but I was lucky since he didn't give any pop quizzes or homework on those days so be careful! Overall, some of the material was interesting &some boring but he was a cool teacher(just don't use your cell phone in class or he will kick you out!)
As cliche as it sounds, Baiamonte is seriously the most laid back/intelligent professor I've ever had. On the first day of class, we watched Pulp Fiction, arguably the greatest movie of all time! You'll need to skim through the course reader to get an A in the class but it's really not hard at all. Couple quizzes/papers. Class is an easy A
BEST TEACHER EVER. He is extremely laid back even though he hates technology. Lecture very clear and accurately reflected on tests. If you attend classes, the tests should be easy As. TAKE HIM!
Had Dr. B online, but also went to his office hours, and he's a professor that keeps his personality clear- extremely chill and knowledgable. The class is straightforward: Watch lectures, take quizzes, contribute to the forum every now and again, and expand your mind. People complained in our class, idk why, its' straightforward so DON'T. Rec'd.
This was the most interesting class that I have ever taken. Dr. B is the BEST teacher at De Anza!! He is very clear, funny, and chill. He shows awesome films. Highly recommend!!!
Dr. B is way cool!! I took his PHIL 003. Got to watch Pulp Fiction and some other great films. He explains everything. Just show up on time and take notes. Very funny. With a nice curve to every test I got an "A." Highly Recommend
Super easy class. Tells you exactly what topics will be on exam. All we did was watch movies which he later covers in lecture. One midterm(super east to ace) and final, that's it! oh and the final, take home essay. :-)
Great teacher, very passionate about philosophy. Took this class online, as long as you remember to read, watch the videos and to take the weekly quizes its an easy A. Didn't need a text book just films and readings,
Philosophy is never boring in his class ! He is very knowledgeable and super fun. Take him! You'll get both knowledge and good grade.
Super easy class and you get to watch a lot of Japanese movies that become overwhelming having to watch them every week. He rarely talks about Japanese philosophers which is strange. Nice guy, and I'm sure he's a great Western philosophy teacher but he's kind of stubborn to Eastern philosophy. I recommend the teacher but maybe not the course.
this online class was actually difficult, mainly because of his quizzes. The movie quizzes are not that hard, but the reading onesare, you really have to know your stuff. plus the readings are really long. short timed tests (10min). and lecture videos are informative, but are pretty long as well, might as well take it on campus, since he speaks well
Easiest, grade-padding-est class ever. We didn't even have to show up about a quarter of the days scheduled, and I missed a bunch more. Class consists of watching movies and taking some easy quizzes. I thought some of the wording on the quizzes/tests might be problematic for students with poor English. I got my A but the class is sort of a joke
Nick is one of the best professors I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He made Japanese Philosophy super chill and funny; sometimes even ranting to the class about his frustrations with the mundane. Just show up, take notes, do the paper, and you'll be fine. He usually leaves after he puts on the films, which are always interesting and poignant.
3 words: EXTRA CREDIT QUIZ! Extreme boost at the end of the quarter. Timed quizzes will make you panic if you don't know the material! I suggest reading the transcripts of the videostreams because watching him talk for over an hour is kinda uncomfortable... Not hard to get an A if you're on top of things!
No textbook required, which is always a positive. Tests/quizzes are reasonable and based on his lectures and some online reading. The lectures were long and at times extremely boring. All in all I would recommend Professor Baiamonte to anyone taking Philosophy courses.
Great professor! He's very passionate about teaching philosophy. Uses an unorthodox way of teaching the class by using movies as oppose to assigning a ton of reading. (There are some reading assignments though) My advice: Don't be late, take good notes, don't use your phone in class (you know who you are), and you'll be golden; if not SOL for you.
He is young, relatable and pretty funny. He led a very easy class; there were no readings or homework. I received an A+. My only issue was how irritable he could get. I was 2 minutes late to class once and missed a full lecture because he had locked the doors. This material was a considerable chunk of the final..it really stressed me out.
I enjoyed Dr. Baiamonte's class very much. Definitely one of the greatest professors in De Anza in my book. The only downside to his class is these people interrupting with their stupid questions while he is lecturing. All I can say is (also for future students): SHUT UP, SIT BACK, AND LISTEN TO THE WORDS THAT THIS GREAT PHILOSOPHER IS SAYING.
I went into this class as a typical "it's GE get in get it over with". I ended up actually liking the class alot and consider this guy one of the best lecture teachers i've had. Whether its for your minor/major/GE I highly reccomend him.
Phil 1 was so easy. If you go to class and take good notes, it will be an easy A. He doesn't take attendance, but there is no textbook or class website to get lecture notes from if you miss class. Exams are straight forward. He makes it interesting and tells funny stories.
Class was simple but not... lectures were sometimes long so you really had to pay attention on purpose on his videos. Reading material was provided for free and quizzes can be quite tricky, but he does give an EC quiz in the end. I didn't need it, I aced the class w/o taking the last quiz. Grade is based on points and it's quite easy to get em'.
take all the quizzes that he gives and your going to be fine in the class.
Baiamonte is the best professor at De Anza. His lectures are super interesting and he uses great films to illustrate the philosophical concepts. Great class. Highly Recommend. P.S., super funny guy!!!
I have taken 3 online philosophy classes w/ Baiamonte and all of them are structured the same way: weekly quizzes (can't be made up) and posting twice on the forums. His quizzes can be tricky but I found having his lecture transcripts open during the quizzes to be really helpful. Extra credit quiz at the end of the quarter = extreme grade booster!
Amazing teacher. He's pretty funny. His lectures can get long but the good thing is you won't get confused. Very simple and easy class. Pretty hard to fail. It's a class that's easy but you still learn a lot. Great teacher. Lots of EC. Not much to say other than easy class, great teacher = easy A!
I've taken many classes with Baiamonte, and he is the best teacher I've had at De Anza, hands down. He is very knowledgeable, which is great if you're actually interested in Philosophy. He's also very helpful and willing to answer any questions you might have. Additionally, as long as you consistently show up and pay attention, you will get an A.
Easy teacher. 1 mid-term, 1 final, and a critical essay. For my class we watched movies while he related it to his lectures. Didn't bother reading at all and still passed.
He is very monotone and he lacks the tone of excitement and passion when he lectures. Baiamonte will read the notes to you at times. No visuals, very dry. And he can very rude and unprofessional with some of the things he says.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this professor!! Prof. Baiamonte is sweet, funny, and passionate about philosophy. I had no prior interest in this class before taking it and he managed to change that! 1 quiz, 1 mid, 1 Essay, and final. Attend every class, don't be late, and pay attention!
he is easy going and funny, but he can also be rude too IF you come to class late and DONT EVER USE YOUR PHONE COS HE GONNA KICK YOU OUT WITH NO MERCY. He also swears a lot. anyways, it is a super chill class. We watch several interesting movies and video clips throughout the quarter.
I really enjoyed this class. He is not your ordinary teacher. Online class is taught by video, but they are interesting to watch. Prof seems like a very knowledgeable guy and I learned a lot from the class. I would like to take more classes from him. Do the readings, watch the movies, pay attention, and you will get a good grade.
Really easy and enjoyable class. He can come off as a bit rude and swears a lot (which I don't mind). You get to watch movies that are entertaining and listen to him lecture about various philosophers. Would recommend if you want an easy A and don't want to take EWRT 2/SPCH 9.
Baiamonte is a really reasonable and nice professor. His lectures can be slow and boring, but the benefits outweigh the costs. You watch many many movies in his class and his explanations of the movie in relation to it's philosophy helps you understand more. Baiamonte makes Philosophy a fun topic, not just reading about old wise men.
TAKE THE CLASS TAKE HIS CLASS. He's awesome! very very chill class. We watch really good movies that connects with the topic we are learning in class. His exams are easy as well.
Not your average professor He is very passionate about the subject and I love how the lectures and readings relate to the movies we watch. 1 quiz, 1 midterm, Final, and essay. Come to class, DO NOT COME LATE, do the work, and you should not have a problem passing. He's also easy on the eyes.
Always wears a suit. Loved his lectures, informative but interesting. He's hilarious and comes up with funny scenarios to connect with topics. U watch so many movies, it's great. Take good notes, attend class and u'll get a good grade. Best 7:30am class I've taken. Who needs coffee when you have Baiamonte lol. Def recommend!
He is an easy teacher who is knowledgable in what he teaches. I like how he tries to entertain the students with his humor but I don't appreciate the amount of curse words he uses in class, especially bcus I had him at 7 in the morning, it kind of ruins my morning every day. But if you don't mind constant cursing, then this class is a must-take!
As long as you show up to class and do the reading you'll get an A. I really liked him, his lectures are very entertaining so you wont be bored.
Super interesting guy. Watched a lot of films in class that closely relate to his lectures. One word of warning though, don't ever come to his class! Other than that, course is highly recommended!
Great online class. Clearly laid out with all the dates and materials step by step week by week. Provides all the reading materials for free so no textbooks! Quizzes require you to do the reading and or watch his video stream lectures. Lectures can be long and some weeks there are up to 4 so don't procrastinate.
Good lectures and tests were easy.
Often canceled classes, and he rarely answers emails.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Any teacher that charges his students $170 for a ebook that HE WROTE HIMSELF is just looking out for himself. His lectures aren't even interesting. Don't do it, save your money.
Pretty easy class, watch the lecture (up to 2 or 3 per week sometimes) on online readings or on the movie of the week. The lectures can be anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours long so dont leave it until the last minute! Just two postings to the forum in the term and a quiz every week, a chance for 150 pts extra credit quiz as the final
I missed the half of the entire course and still got an easy A. You have to pay a lot for a etextbook but instead you can have a guaranteed pass.
No need to attend class, everything (textbook, quizzes, exams) are all online. Professor writes his own textbook, which is just a collection of lecture notes, and charges $190 for it. Class is an easy A, but you won't learn anything, and you will pay some serious $$ for that textbook and online access.
10 question quiz for each chapter, which is once a week, but at your own pace. Two exams. He gave us everything to do & we turn in whenever as long as it's before the quarter ends. I started the quizzes two days ago and I only have 2 more left and then the final. Book is $200. Ridiculous. Basically paid for 4 units tho! Easiest class I've ever had
Extremely easy online ethics class. There are 10 quizzes for 10 chapters. All are multiple choice questions and extremely easy. You dont even have to read the passage before doing the quizzes just open a separate tag and ctrl F to search for exact wordings in the questions. Questions in 2 exams are all from quizzes. Self paced class. No deadlines.
Took Chinese philosophy and I discovered a new love for a diff. Culture. Class was easy and lectures are very thorough. He answers questions but pls don't ask stupid ones. Easy A will take another class with him.
I only showed up to class on the first day. Everything is online and is extremely easy. You can take the quizzes next to the text. Just use command F to find key words. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants the easiest A they're ever going to receive.
He tells you to get his required (REQUIRED) e-book and online system at the bookstore, which when I last checked cost $190. He doesn't tell you that you can get the same materials on the Great River Learning website for $30 cheaper. Did I mention it is REQUIRED to pay that amount of money for the materials? Stay away from this guy, save your money.
This class was so interesting! It's completely online and plenty of opportunity to really succeed. It's pretty easy. Read the chapter then quiz and the test is question from the quizzes so studythose! gives lots of extra credit. GREAT GE class and also super interesting. try to buy the txt at the GRL site its cheaper than at the bookstore
EASY ONLINE CLASS. This class is only based on 10 quizzes (50 pts) & 2 exams (50 points) 100 points total. The only thing that sucks was paying for the access code $190. I finished this class within 6 weeks. SUPER EASY GE.
Extremely interesting material. Fantastic book. Very convenient and effiecient online learning system. Did the whole class and tests from my phone. Well worth the money and I learned so much.
My favorite class of all. Sparked my interest immensely about God's existence, the problem of evil, and the meaning of life. If you are genuinely interested in philosophy, the reading won't be a drag. If you aren't, "get ready to read." Nevertheless, the quizzes are so incredibly easy. There's no time limit on 10 quizzes. Great class to take.
The EASIEST class I took this quarter. Quizzes are not timed and the tests consists of the quiz questions. You can find all the answers on his lectures. Didn't watch the videos and finished a 12 week course in 3. I pretty much relaxed with a 98%. He also gives extra credit. Take if you want a SUPER EASY A.
If you are busy with work and want to sleep in the morning take this class. He allows you to just take the quizzes and tests online. You can just show up the first day to know what to do specifically regarding the 190 dollar book then never come back. Cannot resell. it's online access. The online gives you readings to do then take quizzes and exam.
I have taken this class for Phil 1, 3 and 8. I got A+'s in all. It's a self paced class so you can finish the course in the beginning of the quarter. Book costs $195, which is more expensive than my math and science books, but its THE easiest class ever and I can focus on my more demanding classes. Recommended for high unit majors especially
There are 3 quizzes need to be completed within the first 3 weeks of taking this class other than that, you can take the rest of the quizzes and exams whenever you want. Each quiz has a page of reading and it's not hard at all! The exams are similar to what you read for each quiz. Just do your work and you should get an easy A.
Ridiculously Easy A
lol, I literally only attended the first week of classes. This is a self paced class. Everything is online. You need to buy an access code for $196. 10 quizzes, and there's a page of reading for each chapter. Pretty easy if you understand the reading. I ended up with a B.
Easiest class I've ever taken! Finished it in 1 week. Downside is that the required ebook is $195. Class is 100 pts: 10 pts for each quiz. Answers can be found in the ebook. Quizzes are untimed. Professor responds to emails quickly. Take this class especially if you have other hard classes or don't mind spending a lot of money on the book. Easy A!
Only problem I see with him is that his articles are all leading towards atheism. He isn't objective, theism is always shown as if it were ridiculous. Any argument supporting theism is supposedly proven to be false. I hated this one-sided show. His quizzes were easy, but on some you are obliged to answer against theism. Easy A, but not taking again
TAKE THIS GUY. He is the easiest class ive ever taken. Only went to class a total of five times. The grade is only 10 online quizes.
Don't take him. Not an easy any longer.
boring class. Need to go class early morning. prof changed exam.
I finished this entire course in two weeks. I got an A+ Enough said.
He changed the exams , not easy any more .
Don't take his class. You'll regret :/
DO NOT take him! He has changed the exams.
His test is extreamly difficult. If you are not understanding a whole lecture, and book, You will not able to choose the answer. It is not little bit confused, he require you to exactly understand and memorize the whole stuff.
The test was honestly standard, or easy if you actually care . I don't even pay attention to lecture but I listen to bits and pieces and the test covered stuff he lecture over and over again so you could tell which information will be important. If you spend 30% of the effort in your math class for this class, this class is still an easy A.
Quizzes are untimed, tests are 90 minutes each. There is a quiz every week and two exams throughout the quarter. Be ready to read. His tests are difficult. I would choose to take a different class to get the GPA boost you want. The textbooks are also expensive. It is not worth it if you want that A.
Class is VERY hard and while the quiz were kind of okay his exams were crazy difficult. DO NOT TAKE.
He was very strict with the grading criteria. NO extra credit. Quizes are OK, But the Test was HORRIBLE! Not recommended.
You need to show up on time and don't skip more than 5 times you will get 10%. It's enought fair, I think. Online quizzes are easy, take some note, read the online book, and 30% efforts you will got A. Some students got catch so they are bitter but they still have chance to past if they study. He is a really smart professor
Although he changed the grading criteria, exams and quizzes are still easy as long as you read the textbook. The exams' format will be multiple choice and short answer (--small paragraph--). Reading materials may be a bit difficult for ESL students (Remember, it's philosophy), but it's not impossible at all to get an A.
To all of those who said that his new tests are hard - Welcome to College! You obviously didn't put an effort in actually reading his notes. Everything that you need to know is in the notes, which could be interesting. The textbook (his webpage) is expensive (a little less than $200), but all you need to do is read the notes and you'll get an A
AVOID. There are better ways to get your credits done where you actually learn. He's boring, didn't promote discussion, & his slides were exactly like the $200 online reading. He swears a lot and thinks he's funny but puts in no effort. Attendance was required so it was a huge waste of time. If it's a last resort: Read & focus on text examples.
all you have to do is to attend class ON TIME. if you are lateyou are absent (5 free absences w/o affecting your grade) his lectures are the same as the readings online ($198 w/ access code). online quizzes are based on the reading. he responds to his emails FAST. feel free to ask questions. **EASY AS 1,2,3**
Awesome GE to take! Learned a lot but also works with student schedules which was a blessing since i was taking 6 classes! Would recommend for anyone who isn't a procrastinator and can manage assignment due dates well! completely do-able very helpful! Super passionate and enthusiastic. Book is on the expensive side tho!
This class is not hard as long as you show up to class on time and listen. Easy A for me, didn't have to put in any work outside of class. Take notes, pay attention and you'll be fine.
Only issue was the $200 online quizzes
TBH, if you want to learn stuff, DO NOT TAKE HIM. Basically what he did in class is reading the powerpoint and that is COMPLETELY the same as the textbook saids. But his tests are online and not very difficult. Easy to get a good grade. the only thing is you have to buy an ridiculously expensive e-textbook to do all the tests.
His lectures are very fun and interesting, even if you take him early in the morning. He's a very professional guy, but certainly approachable. He's also very passionate about the subject. For the most part, everything is done online (quizzes and exams). You don't really need to take notes, just read the online text. This class is easy.
If you like history, don't take philosophy. Teacher is fair, doesn't assign much other than 5 quizzes and 2 exams based on the readings and movies. Material is dry and really hard to read. The multiple choice is extremely easy to search up but beware of the essays (you have to read to do them). No extra credit, point system, total 100 pts.
He is awesome. Just read the textbook and you'll get a B+ at least. Impossible to fail. Interesting lecture.
Great professor. Very interesting lectures, and he's fun to listen to. The class was based off of 5 quizzes and 2 exams. They aren't hard at all if you do the readings, which are pretty short. It's impossible to fail this class, it's very easy. Attendance is required, however. The films we watch are fun, too.
Summer class. Just read the online book, which takes 1-2hr, do the online quiz while having the online book open and you will be fine.
Tough and expensive. What was difficult for me is the differences between the reading and movie content and the quiz questions- couldn't quite get a C on a quiz even when I read everything. Interesting class- loved the movies assigned. Did not like having to purchase an online course system ($200+) separate from de anza's typical online systems.
Took summer online class. His class is simple, read 10 chapters and take 5 multiple choice quizzes and 2 exams. Textbook and online course cost was about $140. Some of the questions are tricky but all the answers are in the textbook or the movies that he makes you watch. Highly recommend for a gpa booster and easy credits.
He can be a little bit awkward sometimes, but you get used to it throughout the quarter. This class is very dry. I took the 7 am class and towards the end of the quarter only 4 people were in class. This class was hard to force yourself to go through. He only took attendance a couple of times
Dr. Baiamonte is a great professor. I highly recommend taking his class for IGETC. His online course work is user friendly. He is funny and approachable. Before taking his class I had no interest in Philosophy and now I plan on taking Philosophy 1, Philosophy 3, and Philosophy 8 with him.
Hilarious guy. He tells the best stories. Very approachable as well. Definitely knows what he's talking about. Attendance is not required, only like 5 people show up to class.
Baiamonte gives you access to all of 5 quizzes and 2 exams after the first week of class so you have all quarter to complete them at your discretion. Quizzes are 20 questions untimed/Exams are 25 questions timed. Open book on everything. All answers are online so you do not need to read the book. Really easy A for someone needing a GE requirement.
I sat in the exact same seat the entire quarter. There were only like 5-7 people that attended class daily. He is a really funny professor who hates rain and enjoys philosophy. Sometimes PowerPoints could be over baring but the lectures were very interactive since it was a smal group. Easy going class and everything is online, quizzes and exams.
I attended probably 2 out of 11 weeks of class. I think I only got away with it because it's a 7:30 class so he's less strict about attendance, so don't be like me(at least attend a few classes first) For the few classes that I attended, I found his lectures to be interesting & he seems like a nice guy.
Nick is a homie. Usually doesnt take attendance, all quiz's, midterm and final were online. I really enjoyed his lectures. Uses lots of examples so you understand what you are learning. He has no filter when voicing his opinion on other philosophers and their ideas; it was hilarious. This was a 5 day a week class, he cancelled all Friday classes!
One of the best teachers out there, amazing lectures and very easy class.
Nick is actually a pretty cool guy. You dont got to show up at all LOL and everything is online and due at the end of the quarter! Thats pretty much it for this class. SUper super super easy.
I took Professor Baiamonte's online PHIL 8 (Ethics) class because of the good reviews here. I was surprised to find out that there were too many readings, essays, and quizzes in which he gives very little time on and grades hard. I would not recommend taking his online classes. Take his on-campus classes instead.
Nick is actually a pretty cool guy., but he is very difficult. Assignments take a very long time to complete and he has a strict grading guideline which was a huge headache for me. I would not recommend taking PHIL 8 online from him.
RIDICULOUS amount of work. 2 weekly discussion posts (can't reestablish what's already said, but that's difficult given that the you must answer a set of questions and there are 100+ students ). 1 weekly hw. Midterm, Final, AND Term paper. No powerpoints. No reading notes. Just straight up text (have to read to do well on exams) hope he reads this
Very easy A. Took this class online and it was a breeze. 10 quizzes and 2 exams. The class is worth 100 points total. All questions multiple choice and can be found on quizlet or course hero. Highly recommend taking online! Easy critical thinking GE requirement class. Finished the class in less than a month. You're Welcome!
He is the worst professor I have ever had. His grading is impossible and he is very rude which makes the class miserable. It's his way or the high way and as if it wasn't bad enough he is not willing to help his students at all. He expects you to come into his class being as knowledgeable about the subject that he is. So unfair!
Barely took role. Lectures were interesting, if you paid attention. Good taste in films. Recommend taking him.
Nick is easygoing and funny. His class is extremely easy and there are only 10 quizzes and 2 midterms which you take them online and answers are all over the internet, take him if you want an easy A.
Easy class, but Nick is a stickler.. I think he can be a bit rude and strict about the quizzes.. He has wayy too much time on his hands and literally does not let you retake any missed quizzes.. Overall, his class is great and he teaches interesting topics but he really needs to relax and be nicer... I mean chill dude seriously
Dr. Biamonte is a great professor. His knowledge goes beyond philosophy. He can relate Mencius to Hannah Arendt , and Kant to Soup Nazi and Wimpy the Moocher. He has the skill to make every topic easy to understand. You'll never fall asleep listening to his hilarious lectures. He is a great asset to De Anza.
Took the course over summer and Professor Baiamonte was always clear on grading and what was expected of us. Online course is very easy, made up of 10 quizzes and two exams.
dont be fooled by all the good reviews here. He changed his syllabus and curriculum recently. Now you cant find any of the answers to quizzes online. YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK! he's the worst. don't waste ur money with his class and expensive as* book. this class is total scam.
I took Dr. Baiamonte's online Ethics class this Spring. Class is very relaxed; short 2-3 page essay double spaced, weekly discussion post, unlimited time on LearningTree assesments, unlimited attempts as well for Canvas quizzes and final. Pushed all due dates to the last day of Spring quarter due to COVID-19 disruptions. Very responsive to email.
Took for an online Ethics class over the summer, easy money. It was more of a global history of philosophy class more than anything, not much in the way of exploring your own ethics, but online class was easy money and great selection of readings. Banged it out in two weeks. Answers on Quizlet!
The textbook he uses is terrible, it barely explains anything. I'm pretty sure he must get a kick-back or something from this website he uses because the textbook and website overall is just terrible otherwise. The class would be otherwise quite easy if the textbook/readings weren't so damn bad.
Professor uses a textbook that barely makes any sense. Comes from a place called "Learning Tree" and I think he is the author of the book and gets paid for it. All quizzes are done there too, and it is impossible to pass them even with the textbook. No extra credit, either.
$150 book code, 1 canvas quiz,1 quiz thru website,1 discussion post every week for each chapter. 1 final exam from canvas quizzes. 2-3 pg essay due 2nd to last week. Generally interesting readings, just expensive. Sort of biased on diff philosophers. But overall solid choice for taking class. Don't b phased by neg reviews, just read the book :)
Took his class asynchronously, and work consisted of just reading a textbook, making a discussion post, and a weekly quiz. There was also a midterm and final, and a short paper due at the end. He responded to my email quickly but did not grade a single thing until the class was over. As other reviews said, the book was expensive but had typos
Pretty simple class imo. A quiz + discussion due every week and everything is through LearningTree, then a final paper. Pretty easy class tbh.
No meetings. 5 assignments a week at the beginning. Then everything was due on the final week. 10 chapters total, for each - read chapter, listen to recording, discussion post, take canvas quiz (unlimited chance), online quiz (1 chance). One very easy paper 1-3 pages. Easy final (unlimited chances). Only complaint is we couldnt see our grades.
The textbook had a multitude of typographical errors and seems to be more like a philosophy students synopsis of major ethical schools of thought, and is written more from the perspective of the "teacher" and therefore has opinions throughout. With that, the class is straightforward enough and you could complete in a couple weeks and get an A.
this class was legit a joke lmao. The quizzes are actually tricky but just don't overthink about them. 1/3 way through the quarter he made everything due from that point due at the end of the quarter for some reason, so I just ended up completing 2/3 of the course in 1 day. He also "curves" but idk cause I never saw my grade. Guaranteed A lmao
$150 course code, 1 quiz and discussion every week, 1 essay, and final exam. This class is so fun in my opinion and the professor is very understanding. He opened up three weeks of work for me when I emailed him an explanation. This is a philosophy class, so expect reading! However, his lectures are amazing. I totally recommend this class.
He is one unreasonable mean professor, or should I not to call him a professor at all.
class is non-contiguous meaning you can do the assignment anytime no lectures just recordings. Have to spend a lot of money on the online module where you will do work. Very easy class to get a.
Through Learning Tree and Canvas. Weekly textbook reading, lecture, discussion group post, canvas quiz, and "exam" on Learning Tree (multiple attempts on both). Stuff starts getting due at end of the quarter mid-way through so be responsible for keeping up. Manageable but still a large workload and complex. Pretty straightforward assignments.
EASIEST CLASS I EVER TOOK! Only graded by discussions/quizzes/final paper. Discussions have no min word count, quizzes have at least 2 attempts (you see the answers after the 1st), final paper is a 1-2 pg paper on a topic that you choose from a list. take if you want an easy A.
Although this class had a lot of assignments, it was very easy to get through.
Lmao this guy is too easy I don't think he even looks at what we write
I did not appreciate how Baiamonte taught Philosophy. He played around too much with the class and got off topic. I almost didn't take any more Philosophy classes because Baiamantes's lectures didn't translate the beauty in Philosophy. Sorry for the review, but to be fair, students go to class to learn and hopefully be inspired by the professor.
Great Teacher!!!!!
Stupidly easy class, but also severely lacking in actual education. I got an A, but I didn't learn too much. Took online with no meetings. There were lectures and readings to do. All quizzes could be taken twice, so you should always get 100% on them. Discussions were simple, probably the easiest class at De Anza by far IMO. Had no prior knowledge.
Baiamonte does not teach the class, the textbook is required and everything goes through the book. No meetings, or lectures, only discussions weekly, he sits and collects paychecks. Worst teacher to choose if you want to learn anything.
The professor wants you to do the work and provides no feedback. He didn't grade any of the discussion posts and does not give us access to the grades. After the last day of class, he then grades you but doesn't give you access to the course anymore and you find out your grade on your transcript so you can't dispute it. Not taking him again!
Turned out to be my most expensive class. The professor wrote the book himself, charged around $200 between subscriptions and the textbook itself, then was weird about the origins of the text (invalid ISBN, professor urged us to cite the text without an author). Class was easy but the price and sketchiness was off putting.
He requires students to purchase his $200 online textbook for access to the course. It was not worth the money. I didn't feel like there was much knowledge gained and there were no meetings, lectures, announcements, or feedback. This gave the impression that he collects money by twiddling his thumbs. Grades for discussions remained undisclosed.
Easiest A in my entire life. Entire course is accessible from day 1, can be finished in one week, no joke. There are 10 chapters, each has a reading, discussion, quiz, and exam. Quizzes and exams have multiple attempts, and they show you the correct answer after the first attempt. Also a final paper, but its only a page and a half. Extremely easy.
Basically you're paying $170 (for etextbook) for a free A. Class could be done in a day if you started in the morning and ended at night. unlimited attempts for practice quizzes, 10 discussions, 10 quizzes and a paper. You don't have to read a single word because you get 2 attempts for quizzes and answers are given after the first.
Learning is optional in this class, but the A is automatic. The only thing he cares about seems to be getting $180 for the online book he wrote himself. To add insult to injury the book is riddled with mistakes and his own opinions. Take the class if you are willing to pay for an easy A, but don't care about ethics.
easiest class ever. the textbook is extremely expensive ($180 for the course) but an A is guaranteed.
class was fully online and we didn't have to meet. he was honestly such a chill teacher, I took him last winter 2023. his material wasn't difficult, just a good sum of reading. we had weekly assignments, and honestly I got the whole class done a month before the end of the quarter. his material is pretty interesting and the workload is managable
Honestly, I did not enjoy the Phil class Prof Biamonte taught. It is a shame he didn't emphasize the beauty of philosophy; he joked around too much with the course, which I didn't find professional. I went on to take additional philosophy classes, and they were better.
Just pay $180 for the mandatory online textbook that HE WROTE, and do a couple hours of work, and you get an A. I'd probably do it again too, but I have to point out the irony of him being the professor of an ethics class and ripping off broke community college students for monetary gain, while teaching them little to nothing.
Pretty easy class, but you have to pay $180 for his book practically out of pocket. If you use the de anza bookstore, its gonna be like 220 or something and I dont even think financial aid covers it. Its practically just the online course once you buy the textbook, I finished it in a week.
This class is very easy. The curriculum is on Learning Tree where there is an exam each week, about 10-20 questions per exam. There is also a practice quiz each way that you can take multiple attempts on with only 5 questions. The final is a short 10 question quiz and a 2 page paper. Easy A as long as you complete assignments.
You have to buy Learning Tree. Read the chapter and then take a quiz and exam on it. Also write a short answer for a question he posts related to the reading. 1 final and an essay. You can retake the quizzes unlimited times and the exams twice. You can finish it all in a week.
Pay for a grade. The professor wrote the textbook and you have to buy it to complete the class (learning tree). When I took it, it was unavailable through the De Anza bookstore, meaning I couldn't use financial aid. It seems super unethical and sketch. Course material: super easy: multiple exam attempts, possible to do whole course in 1 day.
Great teacher, easily understandable course material, lectures were funny and engaging.
Its a pay to get A+ class. You have to buy a platform learning tree for some 170 dollars. Every test has 2 attempts and you can see the correct answers after the 1st attempt. Easy class, chill prof No final exam. Take him if you want an easy A+ for $170
You need to buy access to Learning Tree ($160ish) to submit the tests on, but you get two attempts and the answers are revealed on the first one. There are weekly discussion posts and practice quizzes worth 1 point each on Canvas with unlimited attempts. You can finish the entire course in 3 days if you wanted.
Pay to pass. Easy weekly quizzes on canvas. Exams/quizzes on Learning Tree ($160). Finished everything in 1 week. Final is a 2 page MLA format, paper about 1 of the 4 philosophy questions given. Easy pass.
basically pay to get an A. textbook is $170 or so, then u js take tests in it (which you can retake and see answers of previous takes), do discussion posts and quizzes on canvas (w multiple attempts). i didn't even do the final paper (worth 5points) and i still got an A. easy ahh class bro does not care
Pay for a grade. Easy GE class but worst teacher to choose if you really want to learn. He only cares whether you pay the money for Learning Tree
Easy class with weekly quizzes and a final paper. Professor doesn't really teach, but if you complete the assignments, you can get an A. Unstuckstudy AI can be helpful for study prep.
$180 textbook, but it's pretty much a free A. Lots of reading passages and exams with only two attempts each. All the material is posted at the beginning so you can basically finish the class before it even starts. The only paper you have to write is basically optional if you finish everything else because it's worth so little.
Do yourself a favour and go get your "easy A" somewhere else. You will not only learn nothing but the video lectures are so painfully boring! This is the only class I have ever regretted. And will stay away from this teacher till eternity.
Good prof if u just care about getting an A and have $180 to spare.
easiest class ever just pay for the textbook. tbh you could finish the whole course in 2 days
Insanely easy class if you want to spend $180 for the textbook. I took his asynchronous class and didn't email him once or even receive a grade back during the entire quarter. Everything is participation and you have multiple attempts to get 100% on the tests and quizzes.
Such a chill and free course. Literally just small quizzes each week and online discussion. Can be all completed all within a week or less if you put in the work. The final was just an essay--- not bad at all. He is very clear with his grading at the start of class. Super quick with email responses. Wish he didn't hide the grading section on canvas
Overall, an easy class to pass. However, you have to pay $200 for an online book/course.
if ur willing to pay $170+ for his textbook, you get an easy A. I finished everything in like 6 hrs. Multiple tries w answers shown on quizzes/tests/final exam. Like 10 discussion posts, and one final essay (2-3 pages). ion een think he reads half of the stuff u turn in tbh
not clear with directions and grades very harshly for everything. 1 bad grade can drop your whole course grade. I wouldn't recommend this course at all. save urself and ur gpa and dont take it
save urself and don't take this class. it will fry ur gpa and dont listen to the other reviews. the prof has a lot of favoritism
