Good guy. Speaks English, knows what he's talking about, helpful.
Went through the material far too quickly and ended class early every day. Especially at the end of the semester and those chapters were the bulk of the final. Assignments and tests are very different. Study hard and don't be scared to ask questions as he is very helpful and seems to enjoy teaching.
this man is sexy
good prof, very helpful. Make sure you study hard though, the exams are not that easy.
Clear, well organized, knows the material very well. Helpful and humorous, wants students to succeed. If you take this class as the three week version be prepared to cover a lot of material very quickly.
Extremely organized. Excellent speaker! This guys is totally hot and could possibly be the hottest guy on campus if he lost the stretched out white t-shirt and high waist jeans.
Excellent instructor! I think he's very helpful and clear in what he wants. Veyr easy on the eyes, even hotter when he wears white!!
I took this class as a summer class and although it was tough, he tried to make it as easy as possible and used great examples.
Nick is a great instructor to take stats from. He is very approachable and uses good examples, he gives sample midterms and finals so you can practice before you write the test. Awsome guy!
e-Great teacher, very interested in the material and make the calss fun. Don't take all of the notes on the slides, too much info, take quickpoints and wait until fridays when he posts them on webCT. Study everything, tests are not mear deffinitions and are hard, know how to apply the concept to daily life issues!
Pretty interesting class but exams are flippin hard.
He's a complete jerk and trys to make u think hes being helpful when he is not. Midterms are hard slides are not very clear and he manipulates his words so you think they mean one thing when they mean another. self involved, conceited. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
He comes across very intellegent, but goes through lectures way to fast, no time to take notes and the exams are WAY to hard for the amount of time he spends on the material.
neat class, he tries to make it interesting. to much information though. exams are hard, not just memorizing, but all the notes go on webct and basicly tells u what questions are going to be in the short answer questions. read the book, that's where he gets the mc from, which are pretty tough
excellent prof, wants students to do well, very clear, lots of great examples, gives practice exams, lots of work though
Carleton is a horrible prof. There is too much content for what little time you have in class. He goes through the slides way too fast and the exams are ridiculously hard. He's an arrogant jerk who thinks he's the know-all of psychology. Don't ever take a class from him unless you want your average to drop substantially.
good lecturer. entertaining. brutal exams, but high average in our class. no spoon feeding here. would take from him again.
Love this prof! He is clearly interested in what he does & is excellent at getting the material across...keeps you attentive with lots of examples, esp the old Simpsons references lol...Note taking is a bit difficult but you figure it out; exams multiple choice which are a bit tricky, but no stressful essays. And yes, I'm going to say it..he's hot!
One of the best professors i've had. He explains everything very well and it's clear that he wants everybody to suceed. He made a boring and hard topic the most interesting and easy he could. To all saying his 220 class was too hard and there was too much info. 220 is a hard class with lots of info no matter who you take it from.
He is awesesome. I would take another class from him in a second. He made hard, boring material fun. He is very helpful and willing to go out of his way to help his students as much as possible. I highly recommmend him.
Hot and likes to have fun in class. Seems like a nice enough and tries hard to make the boring stuff interesting. Lots of simpsons analogies.
Yeah sure the girls may think hes "hot" but the fact is he offers an unfair teaching method. Talking for hours on end,and giving exams most 4th year students would fail. Hes a nice guy forsure but it is totally unfair the difficulty of his tests. unreal. u have a text to read, and about 60 pages of notes. studying 10 hours plus means nothing.....
Awesome Awesome Awesome proff!! He explains everything very well, makes the topics make sence, is really funny and makes it easy to know what is going to be on the tests! He is great.
OMG! BEST TEACHER EVER!!! 2 exams 1 paper. Tests are E-A-S-Y! Multi Choice, short and long answer. He uses powerpoint all the way thorugh, and he makes sure everyone has the notes before moving on. He also gives "this will be on the final" hints. Funny, modern, easy to follow, upfront. Takes care of individuals even when its bigger class like mine.
Makes the class fun and memorable, so it's much easier to study for exams! There is a LOT of information and a LOT of notes, so if you're not prepared to do some intense studying, stay away. But if you know the stuff, his tests are a breeze! He really develops a great base to build the rest of my psychological education on!
VERY GOOD PROF! He knows what he's talking about, makes the class interesting and funny, and has good notes! We had one midterm (very straight forward, you could guess what the question were going to be), one paper and a final. He's also very good looking!
"I'd be very surprised if this didn't turn up on the final. Keep in mind..I've already written the final." clearly gave us pretty obvious hints, was clear, used funny and memorable examples to explain..I really enjoyed his class. A lot of information, but that's what all psychology classes are going to be like.
REALLY AWESOME! he's funny, aprochable, fast responds to emails, and basically tells you exactly whats on the exam, and then gives u choices on it!! careful about the MC though, can't guess his, u know it or u dont
Very good! awesome prof
nick is okay. the tests were cool cause you get to pick from certain questions and they were easy. classes were okay, nothing special!
Great professor! He knows how to keep the class entertaining. The exams are a little tricky but with proper review everyone should do fine. Also, I really enjoyed writing the paper concerning psycological perspectives. This is an awesome class!
Hilarious teacher, really understandable!
Nick was really fun and interesting, I would definately recommend him. There were 2 midterms and the final, all of which had multiple choice, short answer and long answer. But he seriously made class worth going to and when he explained the topics they made sense. He's also a pretty cool guy regardless of teaching.
super helpful and funny and wants students to do well and a hottie especially in the gym
VERY HOT... all that needs to be said
Excellent prof....one of the few good ones willing to teach night classes. He explains the material well, clearly puts alot of effort into his powerpoint and exams, gives excellent practice exams and advice, is available for help outside of class and is rather humorous when he lectures(which is necessary for a class like stats). Highly recommended!
Even though the material for stats is dry, Nick did his best to make it interesting (sometimes to the point where his enthusiasm got annoying, but that's beside the point). EXTREMELY willing to give help outside of class. Would recommend.
Man, I would have laughed at him attempting to get through the curriculum, if I was not crying (that I had to know it all). He talks fast and moves fast, and yet still misses a few sections. This is not his fault, 305 is just that insane. Come on, we're Arts students! Excellent prof, challenging class to take.
SUPER AMAZING. He is so clear in everything he teaches, and yes there is a lot he has to cover but he makes it understandable. He concretes things by giving good examples and getting into his teaching. You can he's passionate about it and it comes through. He's a funny guy and his lectures are real interesting!
OK - he IS amazing! Totally funny, super sexy, really helpful and nice! Totally recommend to take a class from him!!
Absolutely amazing prof!! It's really too bad he's leaving. He makes class interesting and comedic. Know the material and you'll do well on exams. He's happy to answer emails and questions from students. Would highly recommend!!
Best prof I've had. Puts effort into lecture presentations to make them both entertaining and informative. Responds to e-mails within a day, and will meet with students. Approachable and genuinely interested in the material and student progress. I think I speak for many when I say I hope he comes back to Regina after his year away!
OKAYYY!!! HE IS THE BOMB LOL. no Nick is a good prof. I found his midterms to be easy but the TA's...god knows how they mark! seriously. I'm still mad about them to this day! I wish he would mark them himself coz it would make my mark probably way better :( i'm sad i have to take this class again. but it was worth it i guess...but he's gone!!
Nick was entertaining, educational, and articulate. Exams were fair, with choice, and focused on material he said would be tested. You need more than "street"/"common" knowledge for the short answer questions, but it is university. I would definitely recommend him as a professor when he returns next year.
Very into the material makes it very interesting. Class isnt mandatory although he will appreciate it. Read text, read his slides, easy class. He's not very approachable.
Nick was awesome! Very enthusiastic, clearly wanted us to do well, funny. He was quick to respond to emails and encouraged us to contact him or the TAs for help or questions. Would definitely take a class from him again.
I loved this guy!! He was funny and current and nice also easy to look at!!
Dumb jokes that I liked. Most pysch profs are fun and interesting, he was no exception
Awesome, probably one of the best profs I've ever had, works hard and is entertaining, even in a night class. Definitely recommend.
Very entertaining, very clear. Exams are a bit difficult, heavy on the writing and memorization.
Very good prof, but a little too obsessed with Moxies white chocolate brownies. he's really enthusiastic about what he's teaching and knows his field well enough to explain everything if you ask, and he gives lots of opportunities to ask questions. Exams are really short and fairly easy as long as you read the textbook.
Excellent prof. I made sure I didn't miss a class because it was that enjoyable! He cracks some good jokes and keeps lectures very interesting. He is so dorky but he's cool. This was probably my favorite class. If you are a female, you will develop a crush on him... Believe this.
DREAMY.
Loved him, so funny, helpful, clear for exams, really consistent, super fast to email back. Totally recommend.
Lots of memorization..Most of the info was contained in the slides with alot of content covered and random things on exams that were maybe mentioned in lecture.
Tons of memorization, but it is psychology. Went through lecture notes super fast and expected you to write them out, but did post at the end of the week. As for tests, memorize EVERYTHING...notes and text. Hated this class...
Such an amazing class! I wasnt sure about psychology before this class... but now I'm planning on pursuing it as a career because of this class! Soo funny! Made everything relate-able! great prof
This was a 3rd year elective. Standard workload for a year 1 class, lots of material, not much depth, lots of memorization. Want a class where you learn nothing and get marks for your opinions? This isn?t it. He was entertaining, engaging, enthusiastic and helpful. He is fast on email. Exams evenly covered lectures (notes online) and text.
People whining about psych tests need to take a science class. Tells you what to study in the review, gives the format, gives you choices about what to answer. Easy A for me. Guy was funny, clearly loves his job.
Laughed frequently. Great examples. Slides provided after classes. 3 Tests not cumulative. Have recommended this class to others.
By far my favourite prof, funny, smart, keeps the class interesting. I had it in a night class for 3hrs and the time just flew by. He hints when a section is important and will be in the MTs or final. As long as you study and pay attention you will do excellent. Textbook isn't very useful besides 1-2 questions on the tests.
Amazing. Highly intelligent, adores his subject, and is exceptionally funny. I have recommended this course to many people, and will continue to.
He was literally the BEST Prof, I have ever had. He made class so interesting, I never missed it. He keeps you laughing and interested. Midterms and Finals weren't too hard, so long as you read the slides. I HIGHLY recommend this prof to anyone looking to take Psychology.
Awesome prof! Loves stats and wants everyone to do well! If you are taking a psych 305, I definatley recommend taking it from him!
Honestly, the most amazing prof I've ever had. He is hilarious and makes coming to class at 8:30 easy. He makes the information super interesting and his tests aren't too hard. I seriously recommend that anyone needing psych 102 should take it with Nick.
Nick is possibly the most charismatic teacher/prof I have ever had. The class is BEYOND entertaining and funny, all thanks to Nick's animated way of teaching. The material however is both bountiful and tricky. Study ALOT as grades are based purely off of test marks, and the tests are difficult. Still, Nick's personality makes up for it! Good class!
great prof
Best prof I have had so far! absolutley amazing professor! Keeps class interesting and soo funny! Constantly had the class laughing. No assignments just exams. Exams were'nt too hard as long as you know textbook and class notes! Recomend him to anyone! I hope to have him again in the future!
Love this professor! Sad class is over with him now! Definitly recomend him!!
Definately an awesome prof. always made class interesting and had the class laughing all the time. tests were easy if you studied the text and class notes
AMAZING professor! Dr. Carleton keeps the lectures engaging and interesting, which makes the material much more digestible. Two midterms and a final, all weighted the same; study the textbook and class notes, and all exams are very fair. Constantly had the class laughing, and links the material to contemporary topics, making it more interesting.
Tough class, he's a good prof but tests are somewhat harder than what I was used to in my previous class. All you are graded on is tests, so be extremely prepared or else be ready for failure. Carleton is a funny guy, and very easy to understand.
Excellent Professor, makes the class very interesting and very helpful.
Its hard to get a super high mark in this class. with effort, you can get 100% on the written portion, but although you should read text, there will always be tough MC. Its a good idea to study with someone for exams, since his notes aren't exactly this topic- 1, 2, and 3, more so about important little notes that carleton highlights in lecture.
Such an amazing prof! So funny and helpful, really wants his students to do well. Assignments are useful and tests are tricky, but fair, as long as you read the text and understand your stuff. Seriously, take this class with Nick. Amazing!
Absolutely recommend Nick. Such a GREAT lecturer; his public speaking skills are amazing. He really knows his stuff too, which makes class enjoyable. From my experience, you don't need to read the textbook. Multiple choice are always tricky, regardless if u read it or not. Definitely take a class from him tho, u won't regret it!
Nick is my all time favourite prof. He was very entertaining and humourous with every lecture. I am very encouraged to continue taking psychology classes and of course more with him.
Awesome prof. Makes things interesting and funny. Had one terrible student in the class who questioned every. single. thing. but he handled it pretty well. Reading the textbook is necessary for the multiple choice though.
He makes the topics interesting and gets the class laughing. Two straight forward midterms and a final which are not hard but you will fail if you just wing it. Also, he posts his slides on UR Courses.
Nic doesn't really teach, he talks very quickly & covers tonnes of material without really explaining anything. I didn't go to class after the midterm #1 & still got an 83 on midterm #2. thanks to his notes on UR courses. Class is easy to pass if you can teach yourself the material and MEMORIZE like crazy. 12+ hours studying per midterm.
Very clear, covers a lot of material but is entertaining and the tests are very fair with half from the book and half from the slides he posts. You could do well without going to class, but I like the class. Will take from him again.
Best prof I've had. Interesting, funny, really knows his stuff. Crammed the night before exams and got in the high 90s every time. Pay attention, attend class, read text, and study and you'll do insanely well and enjoy the class. Extremely fair exams, easier than i expected. I plan on taking more with nick.
Awesome Prof! Would definitely take another class from him. Highly recommend taking his PSYC 305 or any Psyc. class. He takes the time to thoroughly go through the course material and always willing to help students out. He makes the course really interesting and fun. Never a dull moment. Hard marker but very good prof.
I completed Psych 101 taught by Nick Carleton. He was charismatic and enthusiastic during his lectures, which made me want to attend them. Overall a great experience I will be looking for Nick Carleton as a future instructor. I would highly recommend taking a class taught by him.
Great Prof, very funny and know the material extremely well. Never a boring lecture. However, there is a lot of studying (memorizing) required for the exams.
Great Prof! Made class interesting and kept the students laughing. Studying and reading the textbook is a definite MUST! Really knows the material, tests were consistent and fair and he always told you want to expect on exams.
Fantastic Prof. Very interesting lectures, tells you exactly what to expect on exams and grades fairly. If you pay attention in class and read the text you will do very well. He's also really funny!! Never a dull class.
awesome. Funny guy, gives you all the info you need to do well on the tests, dragged on at times but it was 1 1/2 long class so no way around that. He told us to rate him on here. Everyone should take this class. If you're reading this, Dr. Nick, go easy on us for the final.
Probably the worst prof I've ever had. Condescending, not helpful whatsoever. I learned everything out of the textbook. Stats are not hard but Nick managed to make them as difficult as possible to inflate his own ego. Avoid at all costs. Never had a prof who made me feel worse about myself.
Nick was an awesome stats prof! I was scared of stats but he was funny, super helpful, met with me for hours to explain things, answered emails at all hours and told us what was on exams and gave practice tests, clearly wanted everyone to pass. Totally recommend him and will take another class if I can!!
This class was very difficult and takes a lot of work. But Nick is a great prof. He is very clear and very fair. He expects you to work and as long as you put in the work you will do good.
Great class!
Psych students taking a stats class and the final average was 71 with almost half the class getting an A or B - amazing prof - take this class only from him - enough said.
Nick is a wonderful professor. He is always there to help whether that be meetings or over e-mail. He explains everything and is funny (which makes stats almost enjoyable)!
Nick was exactly what you wanted in a prof. He was knowledgable, welcoming and funny, and he was very clear as to what was going to be on his tests. Class wasn't easy, but it wasn't extremely hard either. If you're taking Psych, take it from NIck
I had always struggled with math my whole life and avoided it at all costs. In High School I only went as far as Math A20 and I bairly passed. My final mark for Nick's UNIVERSITY LEVEL stats class was an 85%. This prof is passionate, driven, very approachable and literally makes stats fun. As such, he has single handedly inspired me to love math.
Nick is an amazing prof!! Super nice guy, very approachable with any questions you have, and really tries to make it fun with jokes (even threw in some Game of Thrones in there!). I highly recommend him, wants everyone to pass!! :)
He was a good prof that helps his students in anyway he can to make sure they know the material he does not want anyone to fail
This was a great class and Nick is a great prof. The lectures are usually very interesting and if not he will find some way to make it entertaining. You will NEED to read the textbook because half of the test is on textbook material. The tests do require studying, but are fairly straightforward and easy. If I could, I would take another class!
Teacher was great during the lectures, made the class very interesting and was very helpful outside of class as well. Would highly recommend taking any classes from this prof.
somebody in the class literally got 100% on every test. I mean, even if that person is freakishly smart that should still tell you how easy the class is
So far, my favourite prof! Funny, nice, helpful, and just great all around. Everything you need is in the slides and textbook. Won't test you on anything else. Easy enough :) So, I took another of his classes.
Great class! The lectures were very interesting and the tests were straight forward.
Fantastic prof!! Believes in making education fun, I laughed at least once every class. He makes it so interesting. Exams are super fair and easy IF you study. He or his TAs were available for help and will go over your exams with you. Take a class from Nick you will NOT regret it!!
Best professor I ever had! I love Psychology but was about to give up my major because I didn't think I could go through with a Masters, but he sent me an e-mail congratulating me on my work in the course and this encouraged me to continue. Side note - Be sure to read the chapters in his class, and do the MyPsychLab online, it helps a lot!
His class is amazing! I looked forward to going to his class because he made his lectures interesting and you can tell that he is really passionate about the work he does! Also, make sure that you go to the bathroom before class, because he is hilarious. His tests are easy, BUT you have to study!
Probably the best prof at the U of R. Class was never boring and as long as you paid attention and studied the exams were fine. If you're taking the class as an elective this guy will make you want to major in psychology. NICK IS AWESOME.
Nick seems like he knows his stuff but when coming to the tests there is way too much information to study and it's hard when his review is literally just study everything you've learnt for the past 3 chapters. ugh the tests are so hard and even if you study good and you think you'll get a good mark just be ready to be disappointed..
Lectures and posted notes were very straightforward and easy to understand. On all of the midterms and on the final you get a choice of which questions to answer (not including multiple choice.) His lectures are hilarious. If you pay attention in class he gives a lot of hints about the midterms and final. The study guides are excellent.
Nick is so funny. His lectures are very entertaining and are easy to pay attention to. He doesn't give any assignments so people who are good at testing would do well. Because of the large class sizes you don't get to know him very well, personally.
Nick's lectures are hilarious and it makes you want to go to all the lectures. His tests are a bit tough but if you study you can get a decent grade in his class. He gives tons of hints for midterms. The lectures were by far the best part. You are never bored when he's teaching! I would definitely take another class from him. Highly recommend.
Love this guy! He's entertaining, covers current topics, and clearly loves teaching. The tests are easy if you study because he gives you the slides, gives you choice on what to answer, tests only 3 chapters at a time, and the final is not comprehensive. Every exam someone scored a 100 and the class average is almost 70. I would definitely take a
I don't think I would ever take another class from him again. makes simple concepts confusing and hard to understand. expects way too much from first year students. If you take a psychology class from him, be ready to memorize every page of notes that you have written, because it will all be on the midtermsfinal. there are way better psych profs.
Carlton talks SOOOOO fast! You HAVE to read the textbook chapters that he assigns bc 21 marks on each test is strictly from there and not from lecture. Sometimes can make a easy concept quite confusing, however, is a really funny guy with great comedic timing. be prepared for a lot of reading and reviewing to get a good mark
Talks fast but only tests you on notes he gives. Didn't write any notes, just used his, scored high. Gave lots of choice on every test, easy A if you read and study, pretty hard if you slack. Funny. Would take again.
Loved him! Funny, no need for in class notes, choices on all the exams, only 3 chapters each, final is the same length as midterms, easy class if you actually study AT ALL! I got an A, would take again for sure!
Nicholas expects too much for an introductory class. He expects you to read through hundreds of slides as well as the textbook chapters for midterms that are only worth around 30 marks each. It is a must to read the textbook as many questions on the midterms come from it. There are better introductory psych profs at this university to choose from.
Funny interesting clear gives exam qs in advance, even mc, with choice on the exams & no comp exams
Not as fast a talker as I expected from the comments, a bit fast, but I was never bored. He gives you everything you need and tells you exactly what will be on the tests. I took no notes in class, didn't read the book, and still got a B. Like have my class got an A or B. I would take another class from him, but I guess he only teaches intro.
He tells you that you need to read the textbook, don't, waste your time. Buy the grade aid, he takes the multiple choice from there. His lectures are funny and interesting! The best psych prof no doubt. So much choice choice on exams. If studied at all, you're fine!
Lectures are interesting, professor engaging and knows content. Since a lot of material is in the tests, a lot of studying is required.
This guy is funny. He takes current events and applies them to his lectures. He makes the lectures actually enjoyable. From doing accents, making jokes, turning down the lights while learning about night terrors, you name it! Get the Grade Aid textbook, multiple choice are directly from there. He literally hands you the grade if you study.
Lectures are interesting probs my favourite lecture to attend. He is a very good speaker but tests are pretty tough expects you to know way too much info. Need to read the text book. Overall probably my favourite lecture to attend but this class is not helping my GPA :/
Very nice professor. Lectures are fun to go to but won't miss a thing if you don't attend. You don't need the textbook, but will need the grade aid. Getting the textbook is just a good tool. He marks hard on the tests as they are only out of around 51 marks. So every mark is critical. This class did not help my average one bit. Lowered it only.
Best prof I've ever had! Very enthusiastic about the class content. Some of the content is dry but he does a good job of making class interesting. 3 exams, all noncumulative. The textbook isn't necessary but the practice book with the multiple choice questions in it will make a good difference in your grade.
Carleton gives great lectures and he is very clear and pretty funny. The only problem I had with the class is that the exams had way to much material to memorize and they were marked really hard. I did ask for help from one of the TA's on how to do better on the exams, and she basically told me it was a hard class.
If your brain is the size of a train, then get ready to gain However, if your mind gets behind you will be blind as every exam should have a plan, 36 pages is gunna take ages so strap on your boots and put on your suits cause you're in for a ride, My advice, roll the dice, or you'll be paying the price
Nick has been my favorite prof this year. Get ready for lots of nonsense and talks about his dog (whose name is toaster by the way) Defiantly recommend him for anyone needing to take intro psych!
He is absolutely hilarious, easy to understand and sets the class up for you to get easy credit! There were only two midterms and the final, all relatively easy as long as you studied and the lectures were pretty interesting as he is just a funny guy!
Loved this guy! Literally gives you the MC questions and short/long answer questions in advance. Cant get much easier and still be a university class. Several people in my class got 100%, so if you put in any effort the class is easy. He's funny and fair but does expect you actually try and learn.
awesome guy. lectures are always entertaining and he likes to put humour into them. by far the best prof I've ever had. he is very caring towards his students and makes sure the students know he is available to help.
Nick was an awesome prof and really made the content interesting! I would highly recommend him.
Very clear about what format the exams are. If you have any questions or need clarification, he will respond back to your emails. Gives lots of examples to help explain the topics.
Really liked him and the class. Really clear about what will be on the exams and how to study. I did really well.
Nick is easily one of the best profs at U of R. His lectures are hilarious, he incorporated fun things into his tests (Greys Anatomy, ect), and he truly makes class amazing. He gives you the resources that he gets the multiple choice from, tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test, it doesn't get easier. He is seriously amazing. Take his course.
If you truly care about psychology and want the funniest, most hilarious prof in the world- take Nick. A mistake a lot of students make is thinking that psychology is an easy credit. IT ISNT. It is three full booklets of diagrams, charts, and memorization. HOWEVER, if you go to class, Nick makes it easy to understand and remember. Take psych & Nick
Got all 90s on my midterm and attended lectures maybe twice during the whole semester! Just memorize all the short answers and remember all the answers for the multiple choice on the grade aid book and you'll be golden. Easy credit but lots of memorizing.
Nick is great! You can really tell he cares about the students and the content matter. I was in a class with about 300 people in it, and he still managed to help everyone with questions. Real great guy too! Though he may have an unhealthy addiction to The Owl haha!
Overall really enjoyed the lecture topics and the professor. Course is very dependent on the textbook and lecture slides (which coincide). Reading the textbook is necessary for a good grade and understanding. Course is not very difficult, but is very note-heavy, and lots of reading. There was also no assignments, just midterms and the final exam.
I looked forward to every lecture with Dr. Carleton, he made even the dry material seem interesting and kept us laughing the whole way through. He is incredibly passionate and charismatic and exudes excitement for the subject. Exams were fair, he does not expect you to know everything but rather a few things well. Can't recommend enough!
BUY THE PRACTICE EXAM BOOK. He takes the multiple choice questions directly from the practice exam book. So if you memorize them then you would get at least 40% of each exam completely right. There is a lot of material but it is manageable. He gives your best test grades the highest weighted percentage.
the class was only graded on 3 tests but he was a great prof that keeps you interested even during early mornings
Nick was hilarious and engaging. My best class yet.
3 exams & lots of choices were given for each part. Label/explain the diagrams on slides (structure of the ear, brain) long questions "Explain in detail the Charles D Theory " "processes of long term memory" "explain bulimia or anorexia in detail". Overall , an easy grade if you are good at memorizing. Textbook needed for understanding concepts.
This class made me enjoy psychology again!!
First of all, I improved just by skipping his classes. I've learned everything by reading his slides at home. When I went to his lecture, he's always engaging, enthusiastic, and eager to teach. He also has a good sense of humour.
Nick is a great prof. He is hilarious and engaging throughout all of his lectures. Only 2 midterms and the final. Lots of memorizing and diagrams. Not too challenging, but you need to read textbook to understand concepts.
Nick is a great prof! Get ready to memorize because you have to memorize a lot of things so that youre prepared for the exams! Midterms and final wasnt that hard but the multiple choice was a little challenging so make sure to pratice the cerego questions very well. Overall, nice class and nice prof!
The textbook is given online so you can save some money. Reading through the assigned readings and taking a few notes to look over before the exams worked for me (finished the class with a 90). Show up to class and follow the notes (don't try and take your own notes - he goes too fast) and you should be golden. Always enjoyed his lectures!
Nick was by far my favourite prof from all of first year! He's funny, his examples in class are understandable and relatable, and he really makes the class enjoyable. Whenever you can, take a class with this guy and you won't regret it!
He is good at incorporating humor into lecture material, always keeping students laughing. However, his exams are quite difficult. The preparation he gives is fairly minimal
Super awesome for lectures. Always keeps your interest. Makes learning fun. Class grade was based on three exams. Grading style is easy but you need to know your material. He's really great if you need questions answered and notices you when you do well. Overall 10/10 would take again!
Nick is a fun professor who is interesting to listen to and likes to make lots of jokes. His course consists of two midterms and a final. He has a textbook that I feel is useless, but he has another optional reading purchase which has all the multiple-choice questions and answers in it for the midterms and final. Buy it and you will do great.
