Seems to be a little up tight but he gets the point across and does lots of examples.

he seems more like a confused student than a professor... i wish i could have Korytowski back!
He does seem confused, but it adds to the interest of the class. He teaches out of the textbook, so if you don't feel like going to class don't. However, make sure you attend some because marking style on the exam is very specific and a little annoying. You could lose marks even if you understand it
Nice pro. Clear presentation, patient and responsible. I like this kind of pro.
Nice professor. He need try to make class more interesting.
Absent-minded goof! He does a good job with the material given (it is hard to make calc anything but awful). Deducts marks for stupid stuff but is still fair.
he is a great guy
worst prof ever. he will give me the first F after 3 A+s and 2 As from last regular session

patient! thats why i like him
I think Nick is an excellent prof. He does an excellent job of teaching the material and uses lots of examples. Sometimes goes through material a little fast, but not too often.
Good profssor! His teaching method is very clear, and what he wrote in the class is very helpful.Go to the class and do some exercises, you will get a goof mark.
Nick is the best instructor i've ever had in UM!!!
Very good prof, hard for smarter students because he tends to over indulge very simple questions.
excellent teacher... opens the floor often for questions. really knows what he's talking about
He's alright. He's a pretty new teacher and a masters one at that so don't expect some brilliant guy. But he's okay. Really approachable, fair, has good office hours. Doesn't make you feel stupid. Not much experience but nice guy nonetheless.
He's fair and helpful, and English is his first language so that's a bonus! Easy to understand and to follow. If you do the exercises and come to class you'll do fine.
A really nice guy, knows what he talks, clear and easy.
Really nice prof, and young too. Approachable guy, good office hours, very helpful. BUT THIS CLASS SUCKS! WAY too hard for arts students! For being the easiest math class, it's sure hard! Incredibly pointless material that angers you for how trivial and hard it is! Too much material to remember for course geared to arts students.Very unfair course.
Great Math Prof. While he does make a few errors here and there, they are good indicators as to whether or not YOU understand the material. Always asks if there are any questions, and answers them fully.
Good teacher, pretty boring class. If you took either pre-cal or applied math in high school you should get at least a B+. Midterm & Final are fair.... go to class, take notes and you'll do well.
Good Prof. Knows his stuff. The lecture itself is boring. There is minimal interaction with the students, but hey: that's calculus!
He explains concepts well and doesn't go too fast. Seemed boring at first but turned out to be a pretty funny guy. The course is difficult but ff you do all of his example worksheets you should be fine. Would take a course with him again.
Great prof. Very clear, provided a lot of practice, and encouraged participation so he knew if you understood or not. Definitely recommended.
Great prof. Very easy to understand, did lots of examples, and had lots of office hours.
Had office hours 5 days a week. Makes himself available outside those times as well. Always ready to help. Explanations usually clear and concise and lets you know what you need to know.
In my opinion, he taught the course exceptionally well, if you want high marks take courses with him, be ready to work hard and you will get great marks.
Good professor, stresses the importance of every topic in the course adding why we need to learn them. He is an expert in this field and also a native English speaker, so no problems of inaudibility. only thing is in his effort to explain properly, he goes over simple concepts a lot and this can be boring if you already knew some of these things.
He tends to botch examples, but if you take notes in class, the exact same problems tend to show up on the tests. He put up with all my stupid email requests, but is quite punctual when responding, and exceptionally helpful. Would recommend
Got my first A+ in math with him! Great prof.
Really good prof! Explains things clearly and is really helpful! Be sure to go to class, take notes, and practice the questions at home and you will do great! the classes are somewhat entertaining as well as he is easy going and tries to be funny.
Seems like a real good guy. Good prof and taught very well. I still didn't understand the material but that wasn't his fault. He worked his way through many different varieties of problems. Notes and explanations could sometimes get a little confusing.
First F in 5 years, tests on material more advanced than what is taught. If you understand math and you don't need help with new materials he's great, if you struggle, try and find a different professor.
Very nice Prof! He explained everything super clearly and his final exam are not hard! The average of our 2nd term was 82%!
Exam was on way more complicated material than what was taught in classdone in tutorials, but I'm pretty sure that was the other section's prof's fault. Harland was incredibly helpful and kind
Good teacher. Difficult exam.
I had him for math 1 and it was a breeze. He teaches everything so well that after the lecture I can go ahead and start doing chapter questions. Also, he speaks very loud so if you're in the back you will be able to hear him easily.
Good prof. Notes are clear to understand. The first midterm exam was easy and fair, but the final was brutal. Make sure you practice a lot.
Very clear lectures. Explains difficult concepts well and is always looking to help.
Professor Harland is a good prof. You need to attend each lecture, do many practice problems, and do many past exams. My final (Fall 2014) was the hardest compared to past finals. The midterm was easy though. I never opened the textbook because I used Grant's booklet and it helped me a lot because it has clear explanations of the course concepts.
HE is a very nice professor, vey clear for his notes and explaination. Exam is not easy.
Was great for responding to questions. Very fast and helpful responses to questions. Course went great, final exam was beyond brutal. The exam seemed very differently formatted than course work and was hard to finish within the amount of time given. Study hard for that exam!!!
He is the best math prof ever I have met. His lecture is well organized and clear. You might feel his teaching pace is lil bit fast but I really loved it. His jokes were good and he is very helpful even outside of the class. He usually comes to class way before class starts and helps students. Tests are reasonable and I highly recommend his class!
Great prof very interesting lectures very helpful outside of class. Attend the lectures if you want to pass.
Already my 3rd math class with him and I absolutely love Professor Harland. turns hard complicated material into easy. definitely recommended !!! Make sure to attend his class, he is old school and by that I mean he prepares notes as he goes through material, amazing prof. Very helpful after and before lectures.
Exams ALWAYS have one trick question, usually something from the notes that aren't in the past exams. I learnt most of the course on my own time doing past exams so his teaching style may not be the best but has GREAT notes even if you can't keep up.
awesome
He's always willing to help you, and he's pretty clear while going through examples in class. The midterm wasn't that bad, but the final was something else. Study hard for that final! Purchase the old exams booklet from the bookstore because it really helps. Use Grants and the textbook for more practice if you're struggling on a certain concept.
I took this math class online... best decision I've ever made. He is incredibly helpful and kind. Math is not my strongest area, but he challenged me to do my best and I am so happy with the outcome!
This is a pretty difficult class, but Nick makes it as pain free as possible. Nick is an extremely friendly and genuine prof that is always around, ready and willing to answer any questions. Lectures are concise and very helpful with the overall understanding of the class. Very good prof!
I had him for 1710 and 2132. This proff is a genius. He knows his material really well. MUST attend all his lectures to pass. Notes are well organized. For 1710, he was going at a reasonable pace. But for 2132, his pace was too quick, you had to copy notes during lectures then try to understand later on your own. Very hard marker.
Already a 5th math class with Dr. Harland. Clearly the best math prof at U of M. The guy is a genius and he clearly knows what he is doing. Go to his lectures copy notes do practice questions from all exams and you are good ready for his midterms/finals. Yes they are pretty difficult but they are straight forwards (less theory) which is awesome!
he was funny, and very helpful. make sure you go to labs and most test/quiz questions are taken from the lecture examples and from suggested homework. Dr. harland is a great prof and i would definitely take another math class with him as the prof!
Great notes. He rewrites his notes on paper on the overhead camera and explains as he goes. Doesn't post notes anywhere so if you don't attend you gotta get your notes from someone who attended. He can really math and hes really good at teaching it to students.
Very poor distance education teacher. Our "lectures" consist of a couple of sample problems for each subject, no recorded lectures, no lecture notes. We're basically thrown into the deep end with only Google and our textbook as a flotation device. He is accessible for questions over email, but we basically have to teach ourselves this entire course
Amazing Proff!!!
This prof was my favourite math prof. He had super good notes and taught the class at a good pace. Use the Math 1500 final and midterm exam book from the book store to study for the exam and you will do great!
Horrible prof. Accuses students of cheating and copying assignments. Exams are hard, and not based off old exams or no similar problems.
Don't take this course online unless you want to teach it to yourself. He gives really hard assignments and does not grade them generously. His notes are not good at all with a few practice problems that are nothing like the problems you will get on exams. Learn everything and do every kind of question you can find. Don't rely on old exams only!!!!
Teacher? Uh no. If you're in distance taking calculus, you're gonna have to teach yourself. What I did was went to Grants weekly tutoring sessions, and it turned a nightmare into a doable course. Math distance courses are over priced compared to quality of teaching.
The David Blaine of mathematics! Blows my mind every class!
He is a really good prof, very nice, and knows what he is talking about. The lectures are a little fast paced, which I had no problem with. I would definitely recommend!
Amazing video lectures/problem solving tutorial. He replied emails promptly. The assignments were lengthy and some of the concepts were not in the textbook. Feedback on assignment/midterm is helpful and he is very specific about how he marks, so after the first assignment, you'll know what not to do. Make sure you ask questions as soon as possible.
Super entertaining guy. Obviously the material is a little dry, but he does his best. Does great examples, and is by far an above the best and most understandable Math prof I've had at the University. Midterm/Final were relatively tough, just make sure to put in your time to study. Can we pLease have a past Mid/Final Exam exam booklet like previous
Good math prof, the class was good and he is good at explaining the material. Exams really hard though (especially final was ridiculous) and I also didn't appreciate his very arrogant approach.
Great Prof. Highly recommend. He writes the notes/ examples as class goes, and does a bunch of different examples, and is very good at explaining 'why'. Explains the proofs so they are for understanding rather than memorizing. Despite the course being hard and requiring practice, he sets his students up to have enough knowledge to succeed
Funny guy, makes class somewhat bearable to attend. But that's about it. Not completely his fault as Calculus is a very hard course. He's the definition of an average teacher. Which is honestly not that bad. You have to work outside of class for your grade and I didn't, so I got the mark I deserved (C+) and I can't complain.
He did his best, but the material was difficult to understand and present. This could be partially his fault, as he would state a definition and move on, assuming we immediately caught on to the concept. It seemed like he was trying to "prove" how much he knew or how good he was at math, instead of humbly teaching us the material.
One of the funniest persons i have come across in the university. Also really helpful
Probably my best prof in first year, really set the bar to high for the others.
Dr. Harland is an exceptional professor who combines humour with complex concepts to increase student engagement and performance. He is an approachable and relatable instructor who exceeds all expectations! The course was far easier due to his superior teaching abilities. Note to students: check if there is a back page on your exam.
solid choice, but im not math major so marking was quite hard. good humour, good examples, but class average after the midterm was between 40-45%.
Not a great professor. He tried to make the material clear, but clearly his material was tailored to the community of math geniuses in the class (a clear minority). Class averages were below 50 mostly. I consider myself good at math, scoring As or A+s in other courses, but he seemed to be too caught up in his own brain to teach effectively.
not nice
Very disappointed. There was a typo on a term test, which had not been noticed or fixed even after 2 days of the test being written. It made the question a complete waste of time and ruined my term test, as I was unable to finish another question due to the lack of time. I would expect a higher standard from this prof and am left deeply disappointd
Great prof, highly recommend. Makes the lectures interesting and is always happy to help during office hours.
Professor Harland is fantastic at explaining mathematical concepts, and his lectures never fail to capture your attention. Definitely the best professor I've had so far. Calculus is tough, but you'll be at a significant advantage if you take it with him.
Worth it to go to class as he gives feedback about what to expect on assessments, lectures were also extremely useful as he emphasized certain tips and gave hints as to where students tend to make mistakes in the course. If you want to succeed in the course, youll need to put in the work outside of class by doing practice questions.
This man is an absolute gem. Class was unbelievably hard but he did an amazing job and was great in every way
Great prof. Hard class but if you practice and do the assigned work it will pay off. Exams are challenging but fair.
Personally, I didn't like his class, but he wasn't bad. After this pandemic, I found many videos uploaded in the university portals for other professors and I liked them. They are clear. I feel that Prof Harland complicate the stuff. Even his questions in the lectures makes you to feel that this simple part hard. I always felt stupid in this course
He gives very clear expanations to difficult questions.
Really amazing professor. Great lecture and he helped me with each and every question I asked him after or before classes. In short, I strongly recommend you to join his classes. **And make sure to get benefit of office hours. **
Haven't finished the course yet, but I can just tell from the way this guys speaks during his lectures that he cares and he wants ALL of his students to pass. He always makes use of good real-number examples during his lectures to make sure that students know how to apply their knowledge. No long lines of confusing algebra, just math.
One of the best profs I have ever had. He tries his best to give students as many opportunities to learn and get feedback through optional assignments and class participation. He is very understanding of students' perspectives and truly wants his students to succeed. Worth joining a waitlist instead of registering under another prof if you can.
He was amazing, his tests were fair, his classes were worth going to, and he always explained everything clearly. He wore a funny hat for us on Halloween and he overall is an amazing prof! If you have the option for having him TAKE IT! you don't regret it.
Nick Harland was a great prof. He converted the online learning of MATH 1500 very well, where you would follow through a set of established problems he made. I found his lecture videos to be a little dry. Homework wasn't bad, just put in some effort and you should be fine. He's also easily accessible outside of class. Take a class with him if u can
One of the best prof!!!
I would say professor harland is one of those middle of the pack professors. He wasn't AMAZING but he wasn't awful. He provides lots of resources for questions (lectures, lecture videos, extra practice videos, youtube videos, textbook). No midterm or final, my grade was based on 9 tests(lowest test dropped). Which definitely had its pros and cons.
he is a great prof, term tests can get tricky but if you do homework it is easy to succed
Very good prof overall. I found his notes quite clear and material easy to follow. Tests and exams can be hard but are fair.
Pros: Tons of studying material to choose from No final exam if you don't miss <2 weekly test Explain things in detail Cons: Since his class was so big, so he couldn't answer private message. However, TA was always available on every lecture Note: You need to attend every lab since the test is on lab hours and occurs every week
I took intro to calc in high school, and good thing I did because his teaching style was so hard to understand. Gives you one to two examples depending on the topic in his lectures, but you don't even get tested on those kinds of examples? Talked like that sloth from zootopia I'd rather bang my head on the wall than listen to him.
No final exam as long as you do at least 9/10 term tests. He was understandable and answers questions well. Tests are during tutorial, I would suggest to choose a tutorial after your first class of the week, sometimes questions would show up on a test I took at 8:30am and we'd do a practice question similar later that day during the lecture.
Pretty average as far as professors go. Great lectures and he took the time to break everything down into smaller steps, but the practice examples done during the lecture period did not usually line up with the difficulty of the questions on tests.
Due to online, the structure of this course was modified to have 10 short tests instead of an exam, with the lowest mark dropped if you complete all 10. This was a fantastic move by the math department, as it fits online well. Dr. Harland's in class lectures were generally enjoyable, and he answered questions frequently.
Dr Harland was an amazing prof. Math is not my strong suit but Dr Harland made this course a lot easier than it could have been. His videos explaining the topics were very thorough along with the examples done in class. He made sure to answer any questions anybody had and was overall a course I enjoyed attending.
If I took this course in person, I would not get an A+. The weekly tests were the only reason I did well, and I could not imagine going to his lectures. He explains the math concepts really complicatedly, and I memorized everything. Wouldn't recommend.
I had him for MATH 1500, he made the most informative easy to understand videos, his tests were fair, his live lectures were great , everything about him is amazing. Best prof ever!
he is a fantastic instructor! Modified the course well for online learning, including eliminating the final exam and assigning students short and fair unit quizzes. He spends class time doing examples, so for a more in depth understanding of the material, you MUST take the time to watch them. The textbook is free and open source as well!
his pre recorded lectures SAVED me for Math 1500. very clear and good explanations. wish there was more practice problems though
Harland is hands down the best instructor at the u of m. He gives great homework, lectures, and tests are quite fair. Always responds to emails promptly and with detail. It is calculus so expect to work for it, but you can easily finish with an good mark with a bit of effort. I highly recommend this instructor.
Harland is really knowledgeable. Sometimes this makes his explanations more complicated than they need to be, but he'll explain it if you ask questions. He knows what he's doing and he provides good examples in class. Harland is your best bet for this class.
Provides a lotttt of resources (pre-lecture videos, textbook is given, lectures are recorded, sample questions). Be ready to do the work (duh, calculus) but it shouldn't be too difficult if you weren't lazy like me :P
Condones the use of a broken program at the University of Manitoba. Would not fix grading issue even when provided evidence of correct answers being marked wrong and vice versa. Multiple students approached him about the matter and nothing was done.
Having this prof for anything but the simplest calculus courses is a horrible experience. His teaching style is abhorrent. Each test is worth 12.5% and is only 23 marks. Each singular mark is therefore worth 0.5% of your final grade. One wrong 2 mark short answer and you lose one percent. What possessed him to mark this way is beyond me.
If you enjoy doing theory in math then great cause so does he, like a LOT. He's a nice guy. Tests feel very unfair. Even if you understand all the material, it's difficult to get a good grade because the time period is FAR too short for a test, can never finish all the questions on time. Whole course depends on the tests and final exam.
He is such a tough grader and he also is so strict with a lot of things. His tests time are so short so no matter how much you understand the concepts the thought of how short the time will make you forget what you studied for. He seems to not care whether his students do well or not based on how he marks.
Teaches tough courses but his tests are very fair and expected from what is taught in class. The nicest thing about this prof is how organized and structured his class is, the path to doing well in his courses is very well defined, and lectures are great. I would compare him to Karen Gunderson if you've ever taken a math class with her. Sigma Male.
Professor Harland is a very tough grader and has a teaching style which is very hard to understand. Too many concepts and too less implementation in class. Lot of theory in the course. Very less time given for tests according to their difficulty level.
The tests this semester were tough, many student couldnt finish the test within the testing period. Additionally, compared to other midterms, this semester was tougher than previous years. Pretty bad when the average on a question was roughly 20% with over half the class failing it.
Awesome in lectures, always addresses any questions and gives many examples. However, beware of the timed tests. Basically just tests how fast you can write even if you understand the material.
Prof. Harland is a great teacher & provides lots of material to allow students to succeed. However tests and exams are very difficult. Average on tests were around 55%-65%. The whole mathematics department is the issue with this course however. The midterm across all classes were 56%. One question over half the class got 0%. Markers had no empathy.
Professor Harland is good Professor overall and gives good lectures some of his teaching methods I personally don't understand. But make sure you understand the content! The tests are pretty hard and they give you only 20 mins to complete them. Overall good professor hard content to learn.
Do not take a class with Nick Harland. Bad teacher who doesn't make any part of his lectures clear enough to be able to succeed on his tests. Not enough time to finish tests. The average for all tests were 50% so clearly it isn't the students fault when majority are failing each test. Please reconsider taking a class with him. Student beware!
Test heavy class where most of the tests are impossible to complete within the given time. Lectures brush over material you are expected to know in depth for proofs. Overall this class was a terrible experience. I would not recommend taking any class with Nick. I know I will not be again.
Dont take 2090 with him. the tests r impossible to finish within given time and hes a tough grader. the averages from tests have been low 50s or 40s. he s ruthless and has no care for his students. this class made my already tough life during pandemic and strike even more miserable.
I've taken a few math courses with professor Harland, he is the absolute best, I like his teaching method. He replies to emails within 24 hours. If you study the material taught in his lectures, you'd get a decent mark for sure!
Prof Harland is a good professor. He has a lot of knowledge. He is hilarious also. He is like good with students who are performing good and bad with who are not performing well. The only point that i don't like is his NOTES. He doesn't upload notes like other profs. I always have to take a look at other prof's notes in exams, otherwise he is best.
I loved taking 1300 with Nick! I don't have a lot of math experience, but he does a great job of explaining topics simply. He keeps his students engaged during lectures by asking lot of questions and having discussions, which a lot of profs seem to struggle with online. Definitely use the textbook to study though! Would recommend over 1500 for sure
The lectures are great. Clear concepts and sufficient explanation supported by example questions. I really enjoy his lectures.
Professor Harland is a really good teacher. Most of lectures are spent going over theory that is not very useful come test time. Be sure to only take this class if it is a pre-requisite as it is very difficult and you spend a lot of your time doing homework.
Dr. Harland is solid. He gives many examples during class and has a good sense of humour. The hard part was that the tests were quite difficult as they tested you on how fast you could write them as you are given only 20 minutes, so you can easily lose many marks if you don't pace yourself properly.
Dr. Harland's lectures are clear and thorough. A tough course but knows the material very well and is very good at explaining it. However, he goes over beyond in his tests and final exam. Proofs are what brought my grades down, as we were tested heavily on it, along with a very short time period for the tests. Overall, a fair professor but tough.
As someone who was not too enthusiastic about math, Nicholas Harland completely changed how I feel about mathematics. His way of teaching mathematics makes it low-stress by incorporating plenty of examples from different scenarios. Every type of possible test question will be extensively covered by him in his lectures.
Avoid if you can! Definitely the worst prof at UM. Had his class during the pandemic and strike; showed absolutely no compassion for students. His tests/quizzes are brutal, does not give students enough time to complete. In addition, his lectures sucked, it ways always rushed and barely gave time for students to understand concepts.
Dr. Harland was an excellent professor. He did a great job preparing us for the term tests, and always went in-depth in every concept, ensuring everyone understands why and how certain Linear Algebra and Vector Geometry topics operate. The final exam was manageable if you studied and did well on the term tests. The midterm was challenging though.
It is calculus, it is not easy for people who really hate math like me. However, he explains really well, covers everything, provides practice, responds to emails quickly, and reviews high school material first class. But since it is calculus, you do need to practice on your own as well to get a good grade. Graded on only 4 class tests and final.
This man can keep me engaged more than any other class, really love this guy
Just don't!
Very good professor, explains topics thoroughly and seems like he genuinely wants you to succeed. Lectures are not boring and he keeps you engaged. Highly recommend.
Great prof, keeps you engaged and does helpful examples. midterm was as tough as expected, do the recommended exercises and you'll be fine. 100% take with him, he explains better than most profs and includes proofs that are easy to understand. also funny!
Very entertaining, goes into detail and very in-depth every lecture. Very good professor.
Great teacher and gave good structure to learning.
Mr. Harland was a great teacher for calculus. He had jokes in his lectures very oftenly. Theres 1 midterm, 1 final and 5 tests. Textbook is optional but it's great for practice. I would definitely take him again.
He is not a bad professor. The problem is that some topics are explained in hard way to understand. I mean he could explain some topics in an easier way.
dr harland was an excellent prof. explained things thoroughly and was funny, kept class engaged on those long TR classes. gave interesting "asides" about topics we'd cover in the future. midterm was tougher than final in my opinion. the 5 tests aren't bad either. overall, great!
SUPER helpful during office hours, after class, and through email. He really wants his class to do well and his lecture notes are very thorough. He hand writes his examples in class so they are easy to follow and his exams were fair.
Lots of tests, and weekly quizzes. Try to stay with or ahead of the class. Great teacher, nice and helpful during office hours, knows his stuff. The content wasn't too hard, but you have to memorize stuff.
Amazing lectures. He was good at explaning stuff 1 to 1 in office hrs. We had 4 tests (best 3), weekly online quiz (best 9), midterm and final. It was an okay course but this prof made it 100 times easier. However I ended up with an A cause I ended up skipping classes so don't skip. His pre-lectures are enough for an A tho.
Dr. Harland is one of the goats in the math department. He is very approachable during office hours and explains concepts well. He also encourages class discussions and always makes sure to answer any questions. If you are needing to take math 1510 or 1710 he is definitely a great option.
Harland is an excellent prof, the best prof that I have had met so far in the math department. As long as you do practice questions you should do well. Unlike other profs Harland actually does a very good job at explaining tough concepts.
Professor Harland makes calculus engaging with his humor and thorough explanations. The tests are challenging but manageable with diligent practice. unstuck ai and the free textbook are great study aids for this class.
Dr. Harland is one of the best professors I've ever had. With his teaching style, he balances participation, pace, and explanation very well to make for an engaging, effective learning experience. He's also really nice.
Great prof. I was trying to register for MATH 1700 during first year sem 1, using intro to calc credit from highshcool. Was having problems, sent some emails to faculty of science, etc. and Nicholas responded (in the middle of July) within 10 mins. Very responsive, provides good examples, lectures are engaging, typa guy you'd crack a cold one with
Nicholas was a good prof. he explained things he needed to explain well. I just feel like it he would emphasize on the wrong points at times leaving students just wondering. Otherwise it's a decently heavy course and he did a good job overall.
Rlly engaging and put in lots of extra time to help me understand. 80% of grade was 2 tests tho which I didn't love. Everything else about him was great though.
Good prof, dalways willing to help me out after/outside of class! Had great communication too. Sometimes I felt like he emphasized the wrong concepts/points which left me very confused after lectures, I had to read the textbook and go to the Math Help Centre often to understand. He was intimidating at first, but actually is pretty funny!
Great Prof,
not accommodating at all. part marks are also not a thing as he will carry all of your small errors to the other portions of the question so the entire question is wrong. imagine making a small calculation error at the beginning of your question but doing the correct steps to get the final answer. DONT TAKE MATH WITH HARLAND for ur own sake.
A very knowledgeable professor who has frequent office hours. Whenever I felt a TA graded me unfairly, he'd either justify why they did it or would change the grade if it was unfair, but never brushed me aside. Amazing prof.
He was a really great instructor for this course. He made this course easy. Attend his classes, don't miss otherwise you are gonna miss a lot of stuff. He was very helpful.
I genuinely cannot express enough how wonderful he was. His lectures were so clear, even those who struggle with mathematics can understand enough. When you ask him a question, he gives a thorough and very strong response, and ensures to clear your questions and concerns. He is very kind, very thoughtful, cannot recommend him enough!
Greatest calc teacher you could get tbh. I took 1700 initially with a different prof and failed but taking it with him made everything so much more clear and understandable. Very friendly guy. He sounds angry when he teaches as he yells (big classroom) but when a student would ask a question he'd speak normally and honestly it threw me off.
