I really recommend Dr. Llewelyn! Although the course is still very hard, he is definitely the best the UGA chem department has. The class will be very difficult no matter the prof, and I did not go to office hours, so this is purely a review of lectures. Went to almost every lecture and left each one feeling like I learned nothing bc he doesn't dumb anything down and talks as if we are all professional chemists. My grade is 100% from SG, the textbook is also helpful.

Best prof I have ever had! EXTREMELY HELPFUL! I can tell he cares that everyone understands. Felt super comfortable asking questions! Tends to focus a little too much on small picture items. Tests are department regulated (obv) and curves are applied. Squarecap 50% attendance, 50% accuracy (don't worry). Made O-Chem 1 comfortable and less stressful

Dr. Llewellyn is great! Of course orgo 1 is a lot, but Dr. Llewellyn made it doable. Downside is, 90% is basically tests, 5% recitation, and 5% attendance; so basically: eat, sleep, breath orgo if you want to get an A!

Dr. Llewellyn is the best chemistry professor I've ever had at UGA (I've taken 1211 - 2212.) His teaching style really worked for me and he does enough Square Cap questions that at the end plenty will be dropped. This is a hard class but if you do well on two tests and work hard you'll do fine. I do recommend buying Science Guyz.

Four semesters of CHEM at UGA, four different teachers and they have all been mediocre at best, and Llewelyn is no different. I genuinely don't know a single person who didn't have Science Guyz for ochem 2. I should make an A (barring bombing the ACS) and it's 100% from learning from SG. Very glad to almost be done with this department 🙄

OChem 2 is tough, and Llewellyn was not any easier. Exam averages routinely in the 60s after the curve. His lectures move too quickly and go too detailed. Recitations are not similar to the exams at all. He is happy to meet with students, but honestly does not help and instead just explains how to study. Responds to emails slowly. Avoid.

Orgo 2 is going to be a challenge regardless of the professor. What was different about Dr. Llewellyn is the way he taught. Llewellyn verbally explains what he's teaching with little visualization. If that is your cup of tea I highly recommend him. If you do take him, definitely show up to class when he is showing Fisher projections its worth it.

He's great at explaining and is an amazing guy.
