Tests are very difficult and often not on material covered in class. Reading and study guides are somewhat helpful but even with the most studying it felt like getting an A on tests was near impossible. Good guy though.

QUESTIONS ON TESTS COME FROM NOWHERE!! You can ace the homework, read the textbook, and attend lectures, but you will NOT know anything about the tests. He goes through lectures SO fast and leaves no time for questions. The homework has nothing to do with what is on the tests, and the 35+ page study guides are not helpful. Be prepared to fail

Going to class is irrelevant and he does a terrible job at preparing you for the exams. He always tests on material he does not cover in class (he won't lecture on a chapter but will have it on the exam). If you do well in this class, it will be thanks to hours of work everyday and Pearson education, not thanks to this professor.

I like his lectures and you can tell he loves teaching Bio. He gives back 3-5 points on tests depending on the class average to help curve it. There are 4 midterms, and a final, and the worst midterm score gets dropped anyways which is nice. Dr. Pardikes does not provide accomodations to students when they are sick unless they provide a positive COVID-19 test result. So, even if you get the flu, have a 105 degree fever, are sicker than you were when you actually had covid, and have a doctors note, he will not allow to take an exam at a later time when you are physically able to do so.

I think the difficulty of this class comes more from the amount of material he needs to cover in the short amount of time he has to teach it. Professor Pardikes is an engaging, informative lecturer. He uses short videos and memory devices for many processes. I learned a lot and actually enjoyed it! There is little homework, but a large amount of reading, and the multiple-choice tests are not unduly difficult, as long as you check the extensive study guides beforehand.
