This dude is really easy. He teaches good. I mean, but he drops your lowest test grade and he has a sense of humor. This class is really easy and im not really good at math. Definitely take him.
Veteran of everything. cracks himself up. always out w/in 45 min. gives review sheets before every test. weird man, but you learn to laugh at him. and his favorite example- to use in any problem... Star = Squiggle
This is a good class. Weird man, but he goes over everything and makes sure you understand. If you do better on the final then on the tests then you can replace your grade with your final grade. Take him!

LOVE THE HAIR!!! Great teacher. Always a pleasure to attend class. Makes sure you know the material. Very easy. Wish he would teach ALL of my courses.
Teachers at a fast spped but a good man. He iwll explain whatever you want as long as you ask.
I'm not a great math student, but he made it more bearable. I've had Algebra twice here and I think he's one of the better professors in the department. He drops the lowest test grade. Tests were multiple choice over the summer. I'd recommend him.

Love this maN! Makes sure that you know everything..but wonderful clothes and hair! Always is cracking himself up! Will always get out early and gives you the problems on the test!

Very weird man, but kinda funny! This is a very easy class, if you're good in math. He has an odd way of teaching it though. Its almost like he doesn't believe in using calculators.

He's a very good professor. He will help you with anything that you don't understand. However, he does fly through the material which makes it hard to understand sometimes. He also tries to make the class interesting which is a plus.

I suck at math, so I'm biased. But he DOES fly through the material. He is fast. DOESN'T make you feel like an idiot. He's just very direct. Funny guy, nice personality. Reminds me of Snape from Harry Potter movies. Just chubbier. I hope I get a C or D...
I've always had bad math teachers, but this one was probably the worst. Finally just stopped going to class and went to tutoring instead because they explain things at a normal speed and don't go throuh 3 chapters in 30 mins.
he is rude and very wierd looking. he flies thru the material and if you don't know it he won't help you. and if by some chance he does help, he makes you feel like an idiot.

This was really the least stressful math class I have ever taken. He doesn't concentrate on the difficult material. Tests are very straight-forward, no tricky problems. Easygoing guy, off the wall discussions...Fun for a math class.
Very cool teacher! He is more than willing to do problems until you understand them. He is one of the few teachers who actually cares about his students and also one of the few Americans in the Math dept. Take him!

he really goes out of his way to give you every chance to make a good grade..i made low Cs on most of my test but made a good grade on the final, worked my ass off, and he gave me an A. so effort really does count. thanks dr nick for easing my anxiety :)

I'm sorry, but I thought he was terrible. Tells random stories, flies through material and does shortcuts that no one has ever seen before. However...he is a really easy grader.

Badass. Great teacher, brilliant man. He's very eccentric, but in a most likeable way. Also, works hard to find a way to give good grades to his students.
He takes some getting use to. He is a bit eccentric and can seem harsh at times as well. If you are willing to speak up to him during or after class though he is more than willing to answer your questions.
Very simple class, Dr. Nick is willing to do problems until everyone understands. Tests are simple, he gives you problems to look at which are the same kind as on test. Class usually gets out early.
learned nothing from his teaching. i just read the book and looked at the examples. i got all a's on every test. the class is easy but you can't depend on him to understand it. talks about completly random topics during class. lots of h/w and only 2 problems collected each week!!!

he's not as intimidating as he first seems..goes extremely fast while teaching and writes really small on the board..replaces your semester grade with your grade on the final..no need to go to class all the time, just once in a while..do not come in late or leave early, he gets pissed
this guy is a crazy man, talks about bombs and other various things off subject in class. Tests were pretty easy gave a study guide that made it easy. Seems to like calling girls things such as sweetie but all in all a good man and good teacher
Say want you want, but this man will teach you math. He goes over what you need to know and then does problems in class. Dry and to the point, but come on, this is math. The tests are straight forward and from the notes.
Nick does a good job. I would take him again. You have to work for your grade -- it's MATH but he will help you as much as he can...Sometimes he is a smartass so be prepared.
Awful professor. Didn't learn anything from his lectures. Good to give study guide before tests but does not teach the kinds of problems that are on the common final. Most hateful, condescending man in the math department. Makes you feel stupid for asking questions. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!

This professor was the best math professor I have had. Before this class, I could not grasp any concepts in math. I can now say that I feel better about the subject of math. He is good about going over areas of your concern.
Prior military, waiting to retire, moves fast, shows you the easy way to do problems, skips steps sometimes b/c he assumes you already know it. Has a tendancy to get aggitated if you ask a question, but if class finishes early will explain anything. I could complain, but then again, I still got an A in the summer and I suck at math! He's worth it.

This guy is a NUT! He moves fast and works out problems to the LONGEST extents possible! He's funny and tells very random stories which normally have nothing to do with math. He doesn't go out of his way to help you with anythign but does grade fairly.
Moves very fast, be prepared to write fast and possibly miss things. I mostly taught myself by the book. Tells random stories and can be funny; many people are scared to ask questions because he seems to get agitated. Fairly easy when grading-whatever you make on the final is what you make in the class. I would recommend him.

He's your typical teacher. I don't see anything wrong with him but he does move rather quickly so be prepared to write. You will not pass this class if u don't open your book everyonce in awhile. He gives practice test occassionally as long as you complete them you will have no problem with passing his class. I would recommend him.

This guy is great. Very easy, no attendance, optional homework. Keeps class interesting. Four test, one common final, lowest test dropped!
Dr. Nick was actually a wonderful teacher. He is a bit scattered, but he's funny. He recently got engaged and has a new glow to him. You go boy!!!! Take him for College Algebra. His test are not hard if you study. On top of that he gives you a study guide, and goes over any questions that you have onit before the test. Everyone should have to take
big class, difficult to understand. only reason i did so well in this class was by going back and teaching myself the material. must be willing to teach yourself outside of class otherwise you will never get what is going on. although a nice man, don't take him unless you really enjoy math or have the patience to learn on your own.
Good prof. a bit of an a** at times and says mean comments, but over all effective...test are straight from the studyguide/practice test and goes over everything you need to know for the common final. Make sure to just do the hw and you will ace the final...
The class is quick, and to the point. If you are not interested in working or learning, this is not the class for you. If you are interested, Dr. Nick is Great! Very to the point, no BS. Also, if you have time and see him around, a great guy to talk to about...just about anything. Glad I took this course with him.

I am HORRIBLE at math... But Dr. Nick is a great teacher. Don't be intimidated by him. I personally found him hilarious & he really helped me re-learn everything I sucked at in high school. Homework ISN'T mandatory and he gives you study guides that are basically THE test. GREAT class. GREAT teacher. I learned a LOT.
Well I'm an dumb ass for math, and Dr. Nick isn't the most helpful person for a dumb ass. class is too big and he is to arrogant to help you. If you are an INTL student dont try with him, his english is poor and his attitude is horrible, thanks Dr. Nick for letting me prove that I was able to learned on my own. you as a teacher suck!!!
Dr. Nick is a great guy and easily can be seen as intimidating but in actuality is not at all. A great teacher who is funny as hell and he will help you out. Do the homework and study the guides and you will do well.
Bring extra pencils as you will go through a few per class. This man is a nice guy, but he SPEEDS through the material. If you haven't had math in a while, do not take him. He doesn't slow down until time to leave.
I just completed Dr. Nick's MATH1100 summer class and am so glad to have had him as my teacher! At first his teaching style may appear a bit overwhelming but don't let that get to you because he wants to help you do your best and pass the tests. He gives awesome reviews before the tests and the final. Definitely take his class!
He's not a very pleasent person, I didn't learn ANYTHING in the class, but he grades easy (has a good set-up for the grading)... You decide what matters: Actually learning the stuff or just the GPA...

This professor is awesome! At first his style seems a little rough but he is a very intellectual instructor, he is more than gracious also, on countless occasions he has extended due dates for assignments and he teaches in a very understandable way, if you have a chance take his class!!!!!

He was not helpful at all and not good at explaining new topics and concepts. The class was very boring. He is pretty bad with procrastinating so all of the webworks stay open for longer than other classes. If math is a difficult subject for you, don't take this class!
Easy class,however he's not very good at explaining things. Don't take him if you don't know what you're doing. He always extends webwork and tells you what's going to be on the test a day or two before.
He explains things way harder than it really is!! he does try to help you if you make it aware that you are having trouble. To me his whole concept or teaching style was NOT FOR ME!! if you dnt already the material take some one else
He is a great professor overall! (He also has a personality like Billy Bob Thorton and looks like a cross between Jack Nicholson and Professor Snape.) I took him last summer, and was at first initmidated by his dry demeanor, but you quickly realize he is a very nice guy. His tests are not hard, homework is optional.
If you keep up with the work it will be fine, the tests are easy.
He is extremely intimidating and never thinks that he is wrong. Dont raise your hand in class for a question because he'll make you feel like an idiot.
Do not take him. If your good at math you can probably do well, if you are going to take 900 before this or were close to having to take 900 math do not take him. I never made below a c in my life in math, of course I failed his class. He writes small and doesnt explain things well at.
Ok This is the worst math teacher I have ever had in my life, like the previous guy said he talks about stocks. Yeah we really need to know about stocks when over half your class is failing. He isnt a good teacher to me, and most of my class. I'm usually pretty good in math but this class kicked my butt. Try for another teacher.
He is cool. He is always throwing out useful trivia. He is straight forward and he is no babysitter. He doesn't make the math any harder than it has to be.
This teacher is extremely understanding and will do anything he can to help. He's incrediably easy to talk to and the review for his exams help a lot. Overall I really liked this teacher!
I didn't want to take a math class. I suck at it. Was a pretty cool person to me. Really straight forward and like someone said previously,"Not a babysitter". i had him for college algebra. hes very understanding and is always offering to help you. he is not the type of teacher who tries to throw "trick questions" at you on tests. the tests are easy and straightforward. I am terrible at math and i made an A in his class.
I thought he was a pretty great teacher. Confusing at times but the tests were easy enough that you could just study from the book and pass. He also understood that it was a summer session and didn't try to throw too much at us at one time. I definitely recommend him.

Dr. Nick was a good teacher and he loves to talk about stocks. Overall if I was better at math I would have had a better time in his class. He is always willing to help a he frequently extends the webwork assignments. I would recommend him.
Bad teacher. Gets in front of class and does a few problems. He doesn't want to be emailed about any questions you have. Useless for help. My roommates teacher helped me more than he did. Class was a waste of time, you might as well teach yourself. If you have a hard time in math do not take him!
Complex Analysis, a required class back in the 70's for math majors. Two exams...first one on the first day, without benefit of textbook or lecture. As a math major,did stick it out, got a "D", and had to repeat the class.The worst I ever had or ever heard of. Would never recommend him. Can't believe he is still on staff and assoc. dean! Really??

Easy class. He isn't great at explaining things, but since the material was easy, it doesn't really matter. You'd have to be completely oblivious to this subject to do poorly. Had three tests...easy. He extended the webwork due dates on pretty much all of them. He's sort of funny (?) and and...different.

Extremely easy. Refers to himself as a "teddy bear" compared to other professors. Sends out sample tests. Not very helpful, but it's only math 1100! The only way you can fail is if you don't even try.

Dr. Nick is a good professor, but not so much a good teacher. He funny in his own sort of way, and he keeps class interesting if you interact with him. He sends out practice tests and "Massages" the numbers, so review the practice tests. Take advantage of tutorial services if you arent strong in math. Final exam grade could be your Final Grade!
This professor was a waste of my time. I learned absolutely nothing because I could never understand what he was trying to say. He gave no help and just seemed as if he didn't care. He did give you sample tests, which was a plus but overall I would never take another one of his classes.
He might have been a good teacher in 2007 however now not so much. He doesn't teach very well and its hard to take notes because he blocks them half the time. Very awkward to ask questions. Wears the same thing most of the time. Does extend the homework and sends practice test. Attendance is not mandatory, but you might as well just teach yourself.
I like the way he calculates grades (either average between all your tests and WeBWorK or just you final exam grade whichever is higher) other than that don't bother asking him any questions at his review because he will just say "well i wen't over that in class" (but i never wen't to class so thats probably why he said that) im happy i took it tho
Horrible professor. He rushes through the material and hardly explains the logic behind what he's talking about. Most of the people in my class were lost even on the basic, introductory stuff he explained it so bad. He is also extremely rude and very grumpy and acts like he could care less about helping his students.
This guy is the man. He may rush through the work but thats what professors do. When you stay after to talk to him hes really chill and quite funny. People just need to get to know him but overall, great class.
Don't like this class. Hard to concentrate not very helpful, acts like he doesn't like students. Work isn't too hard but he overly complicates it.
The class corrects him everyday on his arithmetic. He makes the lesson wayyy harder than it needs to be, but the webwork is quite easy. I wouldn't recommend him because of his grouchiness and his dislike of elementary ed. majors. He loves to write on the board with dead markers.
He went through the material fairly quick, but that's to be expected from a college professor. His methods for explaining the lessons are more complicated than they need to be. His tests are very similar to his sample tests, so if you have a basic understanding of all the concepts you'll be fine. Do your webwork too. It can help out MAJORLY.
It's a miracle I even passed the class; I'm still not sure how I did. He makes things SO much harder than they need to be.When you ask questions, he looks at you like your dumb. I quit going to class all together and got a tutor. Study by the sample test; they are IDENTICAL to his real ones. Good Luck!
Dr. Nick's favorite lines are "error" when he makes a mistake on the board. It happens at least 4 times a class period. His favorite variables are squiggle and star, he likes to show his funding accounts during class and make comments about lady gaga. his hair is greased back and he likes to wear leather gloves. easy A, just show up and enjoy.
Make sure you know math before attending his course because if you have questions to ask him, he makes you feel like an idiot. Goes too quickly through material and leaves you behind.
He is a decent teacher if you love math. he does not explain the material very will and if you ask a question he just gives you the textbook definition which is only clear to math majors. he is funny but not side splitting and make the textbook your best friend because you will need it he does not help
Dr. Nick is a very GREAT professor. Very clear about what was expected on the 1st day of class. The webwork was very helpful & also 20% of your grade. He sent out emails always informing students of exam dates, as well as where to go to get help (if needed). Come to class and take good notes & you're sure to pass the class. Very fair in grading!!!
professor Nick is hilarious to laugh at! definitely keeps the class interesting. he's a good teacher. i got an A. just do your webwork and study. at the end of the semester he reopens all webwork to be redone for a better grade :)
The class itself was pretty easy but don't rely on him to help you. He did not explain things clearly. My high school math helped out a lot. All of the homework was online which was very helpful. Not a very hard class, but I didn't learn much from him.
He's not a terrible teacher. If you don't want to go to class you can buy the book and teach yourself. he gives you the test with the same questions on it so if you take the time to do that you'll be fine. and you have the whole semester to do your webwork.
Well, his class is easy but he can't teach. If you want taking his class, You MUST STUDY by YOURSELF in order to succeed. I like the way he gave more time on the webwork but he REALLY CAN"T EXPLAIN ANY CONCEPT. Also, he usually makes mistakes on the questions that we ask in the class.
Super easy class, attendance isn't mandatory. Gives Sample Tests which are identical to the actual ones. Witty, dry sense of humor. He does Webwork and Sample Test questions in class. I hate math, but I didn't mind this course.
He is a good and funny teacher. He let's you know what's expected on the first day of class. The webwork is 20% of your grade so make sure to do it and start early! Didn't use the textbook at all. He is very knowledgeable about the material but he goes through it very quickly so it is often hard to follow.
Dr. Nick really knows his Math but for me, he teaches too fast and I can't really understand the concepts. He is very nice and will answer any question you have. He gives you more than enough time to do the webwork and don't want to hear any excuses. I think he said he was retiring in the Fall of 2014 or Spring 2015. So take him b 4 he retires.

A great professor, always engaging and helpful. Textbook is useful, but Unstuck study was a game-changer for test prep. Reasonable workload, would recommend this class.
