Professor Swope has a very positive demeanor and he ensures that the subject matter is taught with a smile, good vibes, and that we are constantly pushing ourselves to improve. He uses lots of real world examples and knows the material well. He is a modern/younger instructor and so you will learn to be tech savvy with a handfulof multimedia items.

Professor Swope knows the material very well. The real-world examples given and personal experiences shared really added to the value of the class and what was learned. I felt that there was a lot of work compared to other courses and some vague rubrics would be my only criticism.

Professor Swope has a great way of conveying course content; for HSCI 494S, he utilized lecture videos where he would discuss materialon each slide (and you could also see him speaking, which did help, as this course was online), rather than utilizing plain PowerPoint presentations with no audio recording/lecturing. I found that this really helped.

Nick Swope was an awesome professor, he made concepts easy to understand and I truly enjoyed learning epidemiology due to the way the course was set up and his in-depth knowledge of the field.

Professor did not seem very engaged in the course. Teaching assistants did most of the grading and engaged. Very little to zero feedback was provided with grading. It did not make me confident moving forward with my assignments, I was unsure if I had things I could have improved on or what I was doing well.

DIfficult course but a great professor. Provided follow-up videos in every area that needed more clarification. I would take this course again.

This class had quite a lot of assignments, but professor Swope did an excellent job with pacing/lectures/instructions/feedback, so it did not seem overwhelming.

Swope also teachers majority of the Online MPH courses so be prepared. Also some of the work does not match the points its worth.
