He is a great prof. He knows what he is talking about. I just had midterm, it seemed ok not hard.
He is a really good prof! knows what he's talking about and makes YOU understand as well. I enjoy this class every time i attend it. He keeps it interesting, and straight to the point.
Interesting course but can be tricky to understand. The lectures make it much easier to understand the concepts. Understand the concepts and practice case studies in the book to enforce it. He takes up case examples in class, so pay attention, they will help you on the exams!
Excellent professor. Goes through the material at a very comfortable pace and clarifies anything a student brings up. Tests are well written, you either know the material or you don't. I only wish he could use Blackboard more, which means that you will have to take down his notes. But those notes will help you do well on the test. Thanks Nick!
taking his course right now, seems like a good prof! explain concepts clearly.
have this prof. currently seems nice always answers questions from students very knowledgeable. go to class to write down his notes cause they cover and explain a lot-he doesn't put his notes on blackboard and his class is usually fun from what he told us, his mid term and exams are open book, multiple choice and are based on case study
Nick is an amazing prof! Make sure you go to class though because he gives a lot of notes and doesn't post them on BB. Exams are open book but don't let that fool you into not studying! Exams are MC but based on applying concepts to mini situations. Overall, excellent prof and highly recommended!
Nick is awesome! He's very clear and concise. His tests are fair, although intimidating: 45mt/55final. The lectures are more like class discussions. It's a good pace for students who barely have any knowledge of law. Been doing my homework on law professors, and he beats ALL of them! This class is worth taking at night or on a weekend.
Excellent professor! Know few other professors of this class, I would say he is the best professor for Business Law at Ryerson! Take this class even knowing that it is Saturday morning, you worth it! You will be more than happy!
great guy, great course. in class notes are a must. he does not post powerpoint. but often it you take notes you don't even need to read book. exams are open book/notes.fairly easy if you do your work. pretty interesting course. 2 midterm and a final. take course with this guy not the guy that wrote the textbook. nick is good and fair. google him
The exams are open-book, but don't let that fool you-- you still need to study. Make sure you know the material well. Lectures are very important. Attend!
Best professor I have encountered at ryerson so far. He is extremely concise, clear, covers all the material, answers all questions. Explains all material extremely well. Very organized. He actually responds to emails. Exams are not easy, but there are no unexpected or trick questions. His teaching style is very effective! Highly recommend A+
He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge into the classroom. Thorough and concise. Answers any and all questions. Tests are reasonable. Nothing negative about this instructor. Would highly recommend. Material isn't overly difficult but still requires time to grasp technicals. One of the better profs teaching this course.
Overall good professor. Learned a lot in his class, but make sure to attend all the classes as there is a lot of material in the textbook and he covers the specific topics in class. Also he does not post the slides from class so it's best to take notes using a laptop as there is a lot of information.
AMAZING PROF. I have never ever experienced anyone better then Nick. He really was a friend to me and helped me out through my greatest struggles. Keep it up Nick!
very smart man that cares about his students. Always available and willing to explain concepts in more detail. However, the material itself is very dry and he does not post powerpoint slides which makes it hard to take good notes in class
Nick is such a great prof. He is extremely professional and expects the same from his students. Very knowledgeable about the subject. Doesn't post slides so you have to take notes, however his in-class slides are very detailed. His teaching style made a potentially boring class very interesting. Def take him if you get the chance.
Really nice man. Always available for help. Makes dry and boring material more interesting using real world examples. Doesn't post slides online, so you must attend every class
The prof is monotonous the class is boring but he doesn't post his notes online so you have to go. Exam is open book but really difficult and if you're not prepared you won't have time to finish it.
Great Prof. Very professional. The tests aren't easy and if you don't manage your time you'll almost certainly run out; but, if you study well, you'll breeze right through. Attending class is not mandatory, but HIGHLY recommended as lecture sometimes provides important info not covered in the text. USE A LAPTOP FOR NOTES - they don't get posted.
Just completed this class during the summer semester. Great professor overall would recommend him to anyone. However, his exams aren't a breeze. The class average for the 2 mid terms were (1) 69 (2) 65 and that's after the bell curve. You need to know the text book well. And for tests, do short answers first or you won't have time to finish
I would consider him one of the better LAW profs I've had at Ryerson. With this class I found his slides and lectures to be basic but everything we talk about in class is covered in the midterms and tests so there are no surprises. He's a very fair marker and I would recommend him to other students any day.
Nick is a great professor, the material is complex and boring at times, but he does a very good job of explaining it in simple terms and making it interesting. He really cares about the success of his students and although the tests are hard he prepares you well for them and is very clear in what he is looking for.
Recipe for an A: (1) go to all classes, (2) pay attention and take notes on every case & example he does in class - similar cases will show up on the exam, (3) read assigned chapters front to back and (4) know your textbook. You should be able to flip to a page on a topic within seconds of reading a question. Time is your biggest enemy on exams.
He is a practicing lawyer so he is extremely professional, and expects the same from his students. His lectures are very detailed, but he does not post them on BlackBoard, so you do have to attend class. His tests are very fair, as long as you pay attention in class, and review the course material.
Amazing professor. Great lectures, always available for help, and responds to emails very quick. He's a very fair grader, and gives good feedback. I wish he taught more courses, I've taken every course he teaches.
This class was difficult for me, but the prof explains the concepts well. Just wish there was more practice questions done in class. Workload isn't too bad in terms of assignments, but lots of reading. If you show up to class and take notes on his powerpoints, you should do fine.
The prof was brutal, he did not post slides or material online, so it was mandatory to come to class. He marked the 2 midterm tests hard, I know this class definitely ruined my GPA, thanks for nothing, Nick.
Don't take this class with this guy. Boring as hell and he's a tough grader.
Interesting lectures. He wants students to focus and take notes. Will definitely take another course with him. Work hard and prepare for tests and final exam. Not an easy course, but with hard work A is attainable.
He wasn't helpful at all. He refused to answer questions and was unapproachable. HE DOES NOT POST LECTURE SLIDES! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Hard course but not difficult. Work hard and you will get a good mark!
Great prof! Does not post slides. You must come to class and take notes if you want to do extremely well on the exam. If you take notes you can get a good mark!
he is a great proff. I wish i could take more classes with him. He is really clear and very understanding. His lectures were also interesting. Take him! But pay attention.
He goes over a lot of examples in class. Attendance is very important. I don't think I would have understood as well as I did if I hadn't come to class, and his tests reflect the content and explanations of his examples. Open book tests, not a lot of work on your end once you go to class.
Absolutely horrible course and an even worse prof.
Good prof. He gives many good examples during the lecture to ensure you understand the material. If he notices you don't understand, he will help you go through more cases, as the tests are all case studies. All tests are open book. If you go to class, you will understand everything. The lectures are very clear, no real need for the textbook.
Nick is a very good law prof, he makes concepts easy to understand and emphasis key point and illustrates the legal points in class. He does a lot of in class case examples, so attending class is pretty important.
Nick is an excellent law professor. Most of the content in class is what appears on the quizzes. All concepts are clear and easy to understand. He takes his time to ensure everyone understands the concept. If one attends the lectures, and reads the slides and book, this will be an easy A.
Nick is a great professor for law; I really like the way he explained things such as legal tests, defenses etc in a way that were easy to memorize. The tests/exam are open book but if you attend all his lectures (which yes are the full three hours) you'll probably remember most of the material.
Nick was a great instructor. He taught everything you needed to know for his evals. I found he was a really tough grader overall. My biggest regret is that I didn't read the textbook enough before coming to class. If you go to class prepared (reading beforehand) and have organized notes for the evals, you'll be okay. Best of luck!
Nick is one of the best Law profs! His lectures are engaging and he thoroughly explains the material and doesn't rush through it. You need to go to class to get answers to the practice cases on the ppts as he only says the answer to them in class. Law is heavy course so need to practice a lot and be prepared for the tests!
Nick is a great prof! Really enjoyed taking class with him. Going to every single class certainly helped. The only complaint would be that the lectures were really long and usually went till the end, but nevertheless, interesting course and wish Nick taught more courses.
Crystal clear on the subject. He owns it. He knows what he teaches for and who he teaches to. Well organized and defined. Go to every class, you won't likely fail. Good feedback on your exam result. This was only occasion I talked to him personally. One of superb prof ever I have so far. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Nick is an amazing Prof! He is organized, has in depth slides, and if you go to every lecture you are guaranteed to pass with a good mark. He is extremely nice, and easily approachable if you need any clarifications. One of the best Professors I've had so far. Highly recommend!!!
Nick is one of the profs that actually makes you learn LAW Concepts but when the midterms and exams comes, he ruins you. There is no time given and the tests/exams are long and challenging. He also marks the assignment hard. He is still a decent prof tough.
I had the opportunity to take CLAW 525 with Nick in the Winter semester of 2017, and he was outstanding! His slides are well organized and extremely detailed. As long as you go to class and make notes on his lecture slides you are guaranteed an 80+! Such an amazing professor!!!!!
Amazing. He communicates the material very clearly. Serious proffesor so you will not get a lot of laughs, however very qualitative one. Always accessible after class and easy grading. You still need to learn the material at home, but all the exams are open book.
Great prof!!!!!!!
Nick was a professor who you can tell was quite knowledgable about the material that each class had revolved around. He's a fair marker, well spoken & kind prof. This was my first law class and I can assure others enjoyed his class as much as I did. Tests were open book, fair if you studied the material.
He really knows what he is teaching and you can tell he is very passionate about this course. Great guy and wants the best for his students. Both tests were harder than other profs, but the final was fair.
By far the best Law & Business professor at Ryerson. Nick is literially a "Lawyer's Lawyer" very serious, knowledgeable, supportive of students. Highly recommend going to his classes and you will be fine. Fair tests and fair marker. Ask questions and attend office hours if you have areas of difficulty, he is great overall.
Is clear on what the material is, doesn't take crap, and will hear you out and try to make accommodations to the best of his ability. That being said, a little bit scary.
Some of the assignments are complicated but they are not worth a lot. If you go to class you shouldn't have a hard time
Straightforward, and not very difficult as long as you go to class and review the lecture slides. The lectures can feel a bit long and dry though. Overall Mr. Ianazzo is knowledgable, professional, and at times captivating.
One of the best profs I've had at Ryerson, very knowledgable and wants his students to succeed and understand the content. Tests and final exam were very fair as long as you pay attention in class (which isn't hard because most of the time I found his lectures interesting. Cases taken up in class were often very similar to the ones on the tests.
Excellent prof! Go to class, pay attention, engage in the case study discussions and you'll do great. Lectures are long (always the full 3 hours), but in-depth so the time goes by quickly. Very knowledgeable and clearly cares about students doing well, as long as they put in effort. Fair but tough grader, thoughtful, highly recommended.
Tests were alot harder than other LAW courses. Professor is very considerate and will try to help you during office hours.
Very knowledgable, and cares about his students. Go to class, pay attention, do the practice cases and study the readings, and you'll do just fine.
Passed with this guy. Solid prof. Do your readings, especially the end of the chapter questions, and pay attention in class to pass.
Good prof and you learn a lot in his lectures, however exams are really tough and marks really hard.
Seems to know his stuff but he is a hard marker. He explains concepts well but feedback given on assignments contradicts his expectations discussed in class. He not the nicest and quite strict. Not very helpful when asking questions outside of class and is condescending.
Expects students to enter his class as subject matter experts. He goes far deeper into detail in lectures than required which strays away from the content that students actually need to learn. His teaching style is dry as well and he fails to keep everyone engaged. The majority of students can't finish his exams as he does not provide enough time.
I gave Nick a 5 for rating because of his knowledge. I've taken courses with Nick and this was by far the most difficult course (based on test material / time limit) that I have ever taken at Ryerson. My theory is because Nick has been practicing real estate over 30 years he doesn't want this to course be a breeze... objective accomplished.
Knowledgable prof. Test readings are long and the book can be frustrating to read. However, thats just how law is in real life. Tests are tough but fair, meaning you need to study to expect a good mark. His class is a lot of work and reading but ultimately its for the better. This isn't a light subject so beware to put in work. Not a law major btw.
If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the course for you. That being said, I've learned more in this course than most other courses taught at Ryerson, which is partially because of the work expected in order to do well. Nick is extremely knowledgeable, cares about the students doing well and makes himself available for test review/questions.
Tough grader, and expects the entire class to have a high degree of knowledge in the course, even though this is an introductory level course.
Do not take! He expects you to be an expert in an introductory course :(
Nick is a great professor! I took LAW122 with him and I really enjoyed it! The structure of the course was just a midterm and exam so it was test heavy, but if you show up to class and actively participate its a pretty easy course. Its open book and not too difficult. He helps prepare you for the midterm and exam with case studies too!
Super tough professor, with a very monotone voice. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
extremely tough grader and very monotone.
Although this class is interesting because you learn a lot, this is not an easy class. Professor Iannazzo is a very hard grader and he mentions things in class that you sometimes won't find in the textbook, so you should definitely go to his lectures if you want a decent grade. I would suggest taking this class with a different prof honestly.
As the person who studies hard every day, do not take law with this prof. He may teach well, but he marks super-duper hard. It's only a midterm and final, and you either go big or go home. He expects you to be an expert in this course, and he expects you to have every single component in your midterm and final or you lose marks. Avoid at all costs
Tough grader and difficult exam but if you go to class you will be very well prepared. He is caring and is passionate about the subject he is teaching. A lot of the stuff taught is interesting and can be used in the real world even if you don't do real estate law in the future for your career.
Man he just sucks
Really good prof. He explains material perfectly. He goes through a lot of cases in class which will help prepare you for the midterm and final. Although, he's a really hard marker so listen to what he expects to see on both exams. If you show up to class, read the textbook, and write down the cases, you'll be fine,
1) Nick is a really smart and sophisticated lawyer 2) His lectures are interesting and engaging 3) His powerpoint slides are vague, confusing, unorganized 4) He did not organize the course well, rushed through concepts, mixed chapters so it was difficult to follow 5) He is a tough grader and expects a lot 6) Textbook use is mandatory to succeed
Marks way too hard, took this class with Avi wrote the same stuff and ended up with an A instead of a D
Super great prof that really engages students in the class! Go to his lectures and he will give hints for what is on the midterm and final. If you do the readings before class with understanding, it's an Easy A.
Avoid at all costs, makes the course harder than it truly is.
I would say he is the best Prof for Law. He's very professional, straight forward and his teaching skills are phenomenal. Doesn't overload the students will case studies. Whatever he discusses in class is usually on the exams. However, he doesn't do practice tests before exams like the other profs but you don't really need it if you have him.
Hes a great prof. I enjoyed real estate law as the info was very useful. Go to class and make notes ! Itll help during the tests.
He's a really good prof. He explains the concepts with great detail and provides good examples in real life. He makes it interesting and engaged throughout the entire class with discussion. Although, for me he's a REALLY TOUGH GRADER. He expects more than what you can write. Kinda expects you to write like you're applying to law school or so imo..
Nick is the best law prof. Honestly law isnt the easiest course at Ryerson, there are a lot of case studies on the exam, but if you make really good notes, write out your torts and the rules, youll be fine. He goes over case studies in class, make sure you follow and write those down, theyre sooo similar to the exams. I recommend Nick 100%
His lectures are straight-forward, and he is NOT a story-teller, which I liked. He sticks to the textbook content, which again is convenient for the student. If you do the readings and go to his classes, you will pass. If you just read the textbook and have a good understanding of the test format and grading criteria, you will definitely pass.
Awesome prof, didnt do that good but learnt so much, he knows what hes talking about and he explains everything crystal clear favourite lecture
Marks so awfully difficult and nitpicks at answers to where he finds the most trivial things to mention.
Professor Iannazzo was fantastic. He teaches all the concepts that will be on the tests and will clarify what will not be tested. examples are clear and easy to follow, will clarify concepts if asked during class or office hours. He transitioned very smoothly to Zoom amid the pandemic
This course has no free marks 45% midterm and 55% exam.
I have gotten Professor Iannazzo for both Law 122 and Law 603. He really is knowledgeable about the material that he teaches. He engages with the class and frequently takes up any questions that the students may have. Be ready to pay attention in class because he sometimes uses examples he talks about in class for his examinations. Really good!
This course certainly isn't the easiest, but Iannazzo was very specific about how to answer the case study questions on exams. Read the textbook, its very helpful and if you put in the effort you'll definitely get a good grade
Nick is a great prof, the lecture can get a little dry for some but he explains the material well and answers any questions students have. The textbook was a waste of money, I didn't use it once because his slides were enough. Go to the lecture and take note of everything he says. His exams are very straightforward and he's a fair grader.
LAW122 isn't an easy course and requires a lot of reading and note taking. Nick seems to be very knowledgeable and caring for his students but is also looking for very specific answers during the midterm and final. Both are long and short answers so make sure you study a lot!! I had discussion posts which took a lot of time but did boost my mark.
He is the hardest marker out of all professors I have taken at Ryerson! He knew the class average was bad, but he said he's not gonna do anything about it. If there weren't the weekly participation questions for marks, I would have failed this course.
He knows his stuff and his good at teaching and explaining concepts. Course can be tough as it is only midterm and final so even getting one question wrong can take off a good chunk of tour grade. He's also a tough grader and is looking for specific type of answers. You need to go to class and read the textbook to do well
He did spend a lot of time in lecture going over content but wow his lecture slides are incoherent. You dont need the textbook since most of the info is on the slides, just not organized very well. My biggest complaint would be how long his exam questions are and how some questions have many different chapters and concepts brought into 1 question
Nick is a very knowledgable prof but lectures can be a bit dry. It's definitely a very content heavy course but he does a good job of explaining all the concepts. Slides can be a bit confusing if you don't attend lecture, pay attention and fill in extra info. Learned a lot from this course!
Nick is a great professor, he sticks to the textbook material which is convenient for students. If you skip class, you will have trouble understanding the concepts of law. All the examples Nick walks through are similar to what will be given on the tests so don't skip class. Very interesting course.
the class wasn't too hard but he released the marks on rams super late, and he showed no sense of compassion for the exam. He managed to make the course harder by marking it to his own liking. The course wasn't super difficult, but lots of things made it questionable, and no feedback for midterm and exam.
Nick is a great professor. Lectures are not mandatory but they are helpful. He explains everything very well. Powerpoints are great! They cover majority of the textbook. I still reccomend reading the textbook. You MUST practice cases he assigns because they are on the exams which are straightforward. Would definitely take a class with him again.
Beware he's a difficult grader.
Nick Iannazo was great. Who better to teach a law course than an actual lawyer? He and his course content+lectures were straight forward and easy to follow. He wasn't too uptight so the class felt pretty relaxed. Only graded by a 45% midterm and a 55% final which sounds bad but law exams are open book so they aren't at all. You're good to take him.
As a student who mostly gets A's and some B's my current grade in this class is so low I'm close to failing. He is a very tough grader and gives almost no feedback for the tests. Absolutely ridiculous! I will be dropping this course and taking it with anyone other than him
I was warned that this prof was a tough grader, but I didn't expect it to be as terrible as it was. It is possible this class is better to take with lectures than teaching yourself online; however, I find he is a very tough grader who has high expectations for his students. If you could avoid him, I would best recommend you do.
I'll take him a 3rd time despite him giving me a D on 2nd attempt simply because he doesn't demand u attend class. His exams are 18 questions and i always run out of time, left last 4 questions unanswered every time. First time i dropped cause got 40 percent on midterm. I think he's fair marker, only problem too many questions on exams, hard course
He sent out email before midterm saying to do exam u HAVE to complete academic integrity quiz reminding us he send us this message at beginning of course also. I don't check email everyday. I did exam without doing quiz. He never bothered me about it, so this says he's lenient guy. Not easy marker, but I think fair, no marks for gibberish on exam.
Great prof. The textbook has everything you need. If you do the practice questions for each chapter you will do great. PowerPoint is very detailed and the lecture helps understand the content better. Didn't receive any feedback on answers for midterms so it was hard to know what you go wrong but the hardest part about the exams is the time limit.
Not the best of profs to say the least. Nick does not go over exam questions after the exam which makes going into the following exams difficult. Lectures are very dry which makes it hard to follow. Your better off reading the textbook and doing case questions if you want to learn. Try your best to not take this class with Nick.
Responsible professor, well explained lectures, very detailed, explained everything the test needed, as long as you attend EVERY class, you will be fine.
Hardest law class Ive taken at Ryerson. Wanted to review my tests with him but he gave me extremely limited availability. Puts many questions on the tests and the questions worth the most marks at the end. Definitely intends to make the tests a time trap so work on it methodically. Honestly, I feel like this guy wants you to do bad.
Avoid this prof. If other profs are not available dont take the course then!Take it later In all these 3 years he was the worst prof I've ever had. My mark is also the worst. By far! He cant even prepare good lecture notes. Takes forever to mark test. I really like law but his class is so boring and dry!Just avoid him!Idk how hes a prof!!!
Nick is a very straightforward professor and he follows the course material. He does not record his lectures so it is smart to attend class and take solid notes on the concepts he covers. If you follow what he says and keep up with the readings you won't have an issue passing the course. Marked by 2 exams 45% for the midterm and 55% final.
This prof gets bad reviews mostly because the content is pretty heavy and but Nick explains how he wants cases answered in a clear fashion. If you take notes on the chapter, attend class for the cases and practice the cases in the back of the chapters, you can achieve an A. Exams are non cumulative, so first half is torts, second half is contracts.
Took this class with the hope of better understanding relevant real estate law. This class was not what I though it would be and professor Iannazzo did not do a good job of providing us with relevant teachings. I had him for a few in person classes and can say his teaching skills do not translate over zoom. Take any other prof for this class.
I thought law is not for me... and even though I am not a law student, and this course was a mandatory one, he somehow managed to make me fall in love with law, and made me realize law could also be for me. Thanks Nick Lannazzo
Best Prof hands down in 2 years of uni. The course was heavy but Nick had AMAZING lectures! With the attendance of lectures, and some studying you will succeed. Compared to other profs for the course, Nick was easily the best. I can honestly say I was excited to attend his lectures as the content was interesting, and everything taught was relevant.
professor is disrespectful and one of the worst professors ive ever had.
Lectures are content heavy and every single lecture will take up the whole 3 hours but he's a great professor and is very clear on what it takes to do well on his tests - so be sure to take note of it. If you don't attend every lecture, don't expect to pass even if you study the book and lecture slides yourself.
AVOID THIS PROF AT ALL COSTS. Toughest prof at ryerson. I kept myself with all the material and did study hard for the exam but this guy just makes it too hard to pass the course. WORST PROF EVER
This guy is a tough grader. He posted grades with no explanations, no comments - nothing. Go on and guess what you did wrong. Also, we had to answer 2 cases each week on discussion board and he does not give full marks even if you answer it right. If possible, avoid this prof.
Great lectures; everything was very clear, he answered all questions, took everything up etc. Only issue is he didn't post the answers to case questions, so write the answers down when he takes it up during class.
Prof. Ianazzo is one of my favourite profs in TMU. What he expects from you in exams are clear but test can be challenging. Make sure to know how to apply legal tests and principles. Lectures are nice but slides are disorganized so making your own notes for exam would be preferred. tldr: good prof but challenging course
Lectures are informative, Prof. Iannazzo provides great examples and all criteria needed for torts. Wished case solutions in textbook were posted for reference and not just taken up in class.
Review - At first, I thought Nick would be a difficult prof but after the midterm, he is an exceptional prof. He goes through various case study questions in-class to prepare for the midterm and final exam. He also specifically tells the class how he wants us to answer the questions on midterm/exam. He may seem strict at first but super helpful.
He is a good prof but many students find the course hard because the content is heavy and you are only graded by two assessments. I think he was good and even mentioned what to expect on the exams. If you put in effort, you can easily get an A-. Don't slack off on weekly readings because they add up.
Hardest course I've taken but worth it, useful & interesting. Nick's experienced & knowledgeable. His lectures are informative & he does a great job breakin down the DENSE material so 100% go. Read the book, attend & pay attention, take good notes & u'll do well. Tests are hard but very fair. Fair & punctual grading. He can be inaccessible at times
AMAZING prof! He explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand and only tests on material covered in class. If you attend class and take thorough notes, you will do well, as his grading is very fair. However, if you skip class, don't expect a good mark.
LAW 122 is generally challenging. Despite A's in midterms and discussion posts, receiving a B- on the 65% weighted final exam is absurd. It would be helpful if professors distributed the grade weight more evenly. Nick Izaanno may be good in person for LAW 122, but for Claw 122, he's mediocre.
Nick is a caring guy and passionate about law. The course itself is very hard and content-heavy. There was discussion posts 15%, midterm 20% (online; no lockdown browser), and final 65% (in-person; open book). If you don't do very well on the midterm you are screwed for the final. HAVE GOOD NOTES AND READ THE TEXTBOOK. Only way to pass the course.
DO NOT SKIP HIS CLASSES if u wanna pass!!! only 2 exams but theyre open book & arent hard if u take good notes. he tells u exactly how to answer the questions so just write down what he says & take those notes to the exam. follow his format & u will be good. he's very clear & teaches well, i did no readings & got an A so if u do, u can do rlly well
Great at explaining concepts, do not skip his classes if you want a good mark
Nick is genuinely a great professor. He's so skilled at simplifying intense concepts as well as providing multiple examples to prepare you for the exam. Slides are clear and concise. May be a bit of a tough marker but overall would recommend.
He is top tier at explaining and simplifying along with providing examples. Every time I attend his 9am class It's always worth it.
One of my favourite profs at TMU. I was so scared for law, but Nick made this class way easier than other profs. As this class is only graded on a midterm and final, he really prepares you for the exams. He gives so many example cases that are similar to what's on the exam and tells you exactly what he's looking for. Definitely go to class.
Nick is an excellent professor who makes this tough law course much more manageable. Attend his classes, take thorough notes, and utilize resources like ChatGPT and unstuck ai for exam prep - you'll do great!
Clearly on a power trip. Not sure how they were during LAW122 in person, but online an extremely harsh marker for Chang CLAW122. Barely passed. I don't normally leave RMP reviews, but whatever you do, do not take him for CLAW122 or even LAW122 if this is seriously how he marks for an intro law course.
I tried really hard to get a good grade and received a satisfactory B for working my behind off! Looking at this profs rating I am astonished because I don't have to try this hard for my primary courses with worse profs and yet this guy managed to make LAW122 Hell. He's gonna make you use lockdown browser for the midterm. Thats all ill say.
Terrible professor. His classes are so boring and content heavy. He does not give any hints as to what will be on the exams, so you have to study everything. I spent hours studying for his exams and came out with terrible marks. I have never disliked a course and professor this much.
Final exam was marked horribly. No comparisons to prior materials.
Not an easy course. 15% of your grade comes from weekly discussion questions. It was first come, first served. If you're late, it'll be much harder to earn points. It was a terrible system, I ended with 3/15%. The mid-term had 20% weighting, and the final exam had 65%. Take good notes and don't skip the Zoom meeting before the exams, it'll help.
LAW 122: Tough exams. Midterms are packed with too many questions and not enough time compared to other professors. His exams are much harder and structured differently from the rest.
