if you get less than a B in this class, you must REALLY be trying hard not to pass. everything he reviews for the test, is ON the test!! his tests are 25 multiple choice ?s and everyone always gets done within 5 mins. he hardly ever takes attendance. its not mandatory anyway. but if you do go to class, he ALWAYS lets you out 20-30 mins early!

Malavis is a super laidback guy, he does not assign much other than a weekly discussion board and the occasional exam. He usually ends class after forty-five minutes and allows the study guide to be used on the exams.

He was very nice and down to earth. The reviews are exactly like the exams. Make sure to do the discussion boards and look over the review and you will do great.

Easy A! I took Prof. Malavis for a 5-week summer mini. 15 discussion boards, he gives 3 a week (due Saturday, no responses needed, woohoo!!) 2 exams (25 questions each, 1 hour time, final is 40 questions with 2 hours.) He gives a study guide which is exactly like the exams! Don't bother emailing him... lol his instructions are very clear & easy.

I took Professor Malavis for HIST1301 and really enjoyed his class. As long as you do your work and reading you can easily make an A.

Absolutely nonsensical assignment structure on Blackboard. Does not use the calendar so you have no idea what assignments you have or even when they are due. Tells you to read a chapter but the chapter isn't even in the book.

Professor Malavis is the easiest and funniest professor at San Jac. He understands that most of his students just want to receive the credit and he genuinely wants his students to pass. If you have the option, TAKE HIS CLASS. It's so entertaining and he lets you out early.

Amazing, super funny professor. The biggest problem is the blackboard is very disorganized. But honestly, it doesn't even matter because the tests are easy and sitting in class is always fun.

Best class to take in my opinion. If you just need the credit then I highly recommend this class. If you are actually trying to learn history on another level then take another class. One Sig assignment, two exams, and a final. Everything on the review is on the exams so please use them. 15 discuss boards total and 1 due each week. Overall 10/10.

Proffessor Malavis's classes should be an easy A. His lectures were very straight forward and didn't take the whole lecture time, he would let us leave 30 min early. Textbook wasn't really necessary because he gave us an online resource to save us the problem of having to purchase a textbook. I would def take him again.

This class was unnecessarily easy. If you really want to learn history, it's not for you. If you just want the credit, take it and don't think twice. Mr Malavis was awesome. Very little work and he's a fair grader. He's a little "blunt" on emails but is very quick to reply and was helpful. If he taught 1302, I'd take him again in second. 10/10
