Straight up jock class... really easy... told him i was turning in a paper from another class and he said he didn't plan on reading it anyway
No Comments
damn easy class and it was fun. If you don't need it for a major, it's spiffy. watched movies and ate dounuts.
not a hard class. i never even went...his lectures are WORTHLESS. scrounge up a minimally relevant paper and read the text and youll have an a.
I had this guy for geography. The class was a joke- he used NO teaching material- dont even try taking notes. Class is easiest I've ever taken, finished with a 99%. Tests are so easy they're a joke and he just gives ya a 100 on papers if they are legible
Great course
Has no clue how to teach- but not that you need to learn anything because he gives tests that are 50 true/false questions, and are so easy a chimp could make an A. As for the papers, he puts a check mark on anything you turn in- he doesn't even grade them
He is very nice and is willing to give extra help if you ask.
Cool guy, laid back. Only 5 papers and 3 tests. Listen to the lectures and review sheets to find test answers. Get definitions from book.
It's professors like Mr. P that allow absolute jock morons to obtain college degrees with no effort at all. Know how to pass a simple 50 question true/false exam to make an easy A in this class. Thanks for the GPA boost Mr. P!
Very good class! Better take this than history! Very nice and helpful guy. The telecourse is very easy..two papers and 3 tests. Not time consuming and its at your own pace so you can finish early.
Good teacher. Tests were a little more difficult than expected for a tele-course but he is very willing to help you study the testable material. If you want to knock out this class quickly, this is the way to go. Thanks Prof. P.
Loved the teacher, hated the class. He is a fun, entertaining teacher, but he had problems keeping the students on task. Most classes would devolve into a discussion about politics instead of class content, so I basically had to teach myself the class and show up to watch him converse with others
I really enjoyed the class. I was surprised how much I learned about the world. I now understand a lot more of what I see in the news.
I took the telecourse and was not satisfied at all. I think the way the course itself is structured, could use some work. The reviews were vague at best and for a geography class I felt it focused more on the cultural and historical side of geography as opposed to the physical side.
Nick Petropouleas is cool. A very casual class setting. He doesn't make his test too hard and doesn't have too many. He would hardly ever answere my questions, I think he was just messing with me. I learned enough but not too much if you know what I mean. The Gordon rule has to be turned in, the
Mr. Petropouleas was no help at all. I took the telecourse and probably could have done better if I never spoke to him. Whenever I went to see him for extra help, he seemed annoyed and uninterested. It is not upsetting to me that he is still teaching at DBCC.
Friendly, laid-back guy, knows his stuff but lets class get off track a little. Will certainly kid around with you. Class is interesting but not rigorous. Even in Comparative Government, current events and casual chatting took up a sizable portion of class time.
Easy class but tries to trick you on the test but every thing he goes over in class is on test. No need to buy book, he gives out study sheet. I never even read a page and got a B+.
Mr. Petropouleas was a very good and funny teacher. He made history interesting and that's what I like about him, he also made sure before opening and closing each class lecture that we didn't have any questions, or complaints. He was also a very helpful teacher.
Go to class. He doesn't like absenteeism and will make fun of you. Very good natured guy and well informed. Likes debate versus lecture. Don't forget to cancel your US News subscription if you don't want it.
super easy geography. take the telecourse!!!
Laid back, easy A
You definetly have to put in reading time to pass his exams since they count the most. Good thing is that he gives out review sheets. No homework and quizzes. One project due by due date and that pretty much it. He's sense of humor is another thing.
This professor is great. Very intelligent and has a great personality. His tests were a little more difficult than I liked, but i really don't mind and its probably my own fault for not showing up to class. I would recommend him to anyone.
STUDY AND ITS EASY
This guy is a great teacher, everything you do in class is on the test. if you study it is very easy!
Love him! Makes class a discussion rather than a big lecture. Easy tests. Expects 10 pages of current events by the end of the semester. No final - just study questions from the book instead. He has the hot mediterranean thing going on.
I loved this teacher, had a great sense of humour and very intelligent!!! Learnt more in this class than any other i have taken at DBCC. And the only class i didnt go to sleep in!!
This was an enlightening course, however it required lots of effort. All tests were printed from the company that wrote the book. Tests covered 2-4 chapters at a time, but were multi-choice. Very nice/understanding/young prof. who can relate to you as a student quite well.
I took GEO2000 TV, and this was the best class I have ever had. Nick and I worked together. A lot of teachers single students out, but Nick will sit with you and talk to you and make sure you get through. He is one of the best teachers to take for Geography. Don't pass him by...
Mr. P is one chill ass dude. He is really laid back but at the same time is on top of his game. Props to my boy in the south--wudddup Mr. P! Yea...he's probably way to chill to ever check this, but props to my boy, in any case. Take a class with him if you want a chill dude who will make you learn a thang or two. Peace!
This guys is really nice and hes actually funny too. He dosnt lecture really he just has a long conversation with the class it seems easy but you have to study for the tests because they count for most of your grade! Dont mess up just an easy class.
very good teacher
Hard tests, hard class. He doesnt give good review sheets, and when he lectures he gets way off topic which is usually fine...but come test time you have to memorize the book to get an A.
I Really liked Petropluleas. He is a fair teacher and willing to help you if you need help. He has an awesome sense of humor. if you follow his scientific method you will get a good grade
Follow his "scientific method" of five steps and you're golden. When he says read the book a couple hundred times, he means it. Tests are verbatim from the text so read. He will pick on you if you annoy him (good or bad). Attend every class or let him know beforehand that you will be absent. He will explain until you tell him you understand.
Straight up, one of the best teachers i have ever had. Doenst make it boring. he is a bad ass!
Okay this is another easy class , just do what your told. He says to follow the scientific method which is reading every chapter before class, and basicly study and you have an A! Also participate in class, it shows that you are a follower of the scientic method which is KEY to Mr.Petropouleas.
Great teacher. Humorous and knows his stuff!! Doesn't give any homework and as long as you come to class, takes notes and study those - tests are fairly easy. Nice guy and very fair!
He is a piece of work...in a good way! Knowledgable on subject matter. If you study materials presented in class and read book you will pass.
Awesome teacher! He knows his stuff and makes it interesting too. Take notes and study them and it'll be a easy A!
follow the sientific method and youll do well, great class
Funny teacher & keeps you awake and interested. Knows what he's talking about. No homework. Understanding. Follow the five steps (lol). Gives review sheets for tests but you wont know everything unless you read on your own. If you just look up whats on the review sheets and listen in class you'll probably get B's on tests.
Jokes around alot which can get depressing depending on the current subject of discourse. Real straitforward on what he expects. Read the book, come to class, read the book again, take good notes, read the book again.
Course only about learning by heart. Cannot get along without text book. Took for Summer, and had to read a lot. If you want an A, gotta pay attention, and read the book. Overall, great teacher, makes subject really interesting. Makes many jokes, and knows what he's talking about. Not an easy A, but a really good Prof. Finished with B+ without doing anything.
Class only about learning by heart. Cannot get along without text book. Took for Summer, had to read a lot. If you want an A, gotta pay attention, and read the book. Overall, great teacher, makes subject really interesting. Makes many jokes, and knows what he's talking about. Not easy A, but really good Prof. Finished with B+. Didn't do anything.
His main subject is money and colonialism. He has distorted historical knowledge. If you are international student I do not recommend, you will be offended.I like the subject but I regret taking this teacher.
He's great. Doesnt take attendance. You need to take good notes, read the book, and follow the scientific method and you'll do fine. I didnt get an A in the course, but I really didnt try at all. I got a B. If you have a question just ask.
if you are taking world geography Take this Professor!! all you have to do is study and put forth an effort and i promise you, that you will get an A (i got a B+ but thats cause i didnt study on one of the tests but i did the rest)
doesn't make the class interesting whatsoever. I got a D without buying the book but an F with having the book. He's understanding, but I regret taking his class. He doesn't make things clear and you HAVE to be present to get notes and find out when tests are. Working 3 jobs might've influenced my grade for the class, but I still didn't like him.
Took it over the summer. Just follow his "scientific method" of how to pass his class and you WILL PASS! He's right! You MUST go to class to get good notes, skim chpts, and then just study his review sheet cuz EVERYTHING on that sheet WILL be on the test. Easy. If I actually put some effort into studying the guide, i would've gotten higher than my B+
pretty interesting class
Nice guy, and good teacher. The only thing I found a bit difficult was that much of the test questions were on material we did not cover in class.Texbook needs to be read and the book is hard to absorb. He is kind enough to give study review sheets but I found it hard to know what he wants.Good in person, would not take if satellite(tv) campus.
Not really the greatest teacher. His topics in class are okay but really has nothing to do with the test or chapters were on..more or study on your own and talk in class. Not my cup of tea.
Excellent person. Nice class and very interesting point of view. If you just pay attention to what he says in class easy A.
Had him for International Relations. Very nice, funny, and helpful. Also easy if you study the study guides.
if you are a lazy individual then don't even bother going to any classes. If you really want to be there any class this teacher teaches is fabulous. If you can't make it in this class you have problems.
Professor Petropouleas is awesome. He has a great personality and is quite funny. He doesn't demand too much from you, but expects you to learn his material. He seems to bounce around throughout the book, but gives a study guide to know before the test. If you attend classes/listen to his lecture and study his guide, you will do quite well.
Very nice and very easy to understand. Makes sure to cover everything that is on the test. Gives out study guides for the tests. He is definitely my fav.
had him for Cultural Geography; speaks in a monotone voice the ENTIRE class; painfully boring. You will have to reply completely on the textbook, as he does very little actual teaching. Goes off on random and boring tangents a lot. Expect to be a totally independent learner. Tests are multiple choice and fairly easy.
SOOOO funny; he has a humorous attitude that no one can deny, unless they're completely boring and negative. Great teacher overall- if you follow his scientific method you will succeed!
He is a really nice guy. Sometimes he can crack some funny jokes. It's a easy class especailly if you attend (not mandatory) and listen to his lectures. there is one paper and a couple multiple choice questions. even in the summer the class was easy, but i still learned alot more then I thought. i would recommend him to other people!
Easy class, just go to class and listen to lecture and its a sure A. Just take the tests and write 1 paper and thats it and he's hilarious
This teacher is easy and you still learn a lot.
I had him for geography, and he was awesome. It was a short summer class, and I enjoyed his teaching. I learned alot about the world, and he made the class interesting. Funny guy, and very understanding. You do, however, have to work for your A. His tests are worded tricky. I highly recommend him though.
Oh man, he is a cool guy. No homework except for one big essay, he lectures well and rambles a bit, but as long as you actually listen to him and don't zone out, you've got your A. He is very friendly and helpful and amusing!
Great professor!....very helpful. he would get together to help before a test and tell you just what to study! A+
He's a good guy and great teacher. You actually learn something in his class and he gives solid test reviews. If you study and work a little you should get an A
Loved Mr.P! He has a quirky sense of humor but it keeps class interesting. I found the book to be the key to doing well on the tests. Tests come from lecture and book, gives a map quiz before each chapter, pretty easy stuff. He doesn't take attendance but his lectures are fun. Great teacher!
Amazing teacher! Very kind and will work with you. As long as you remember deadlines this is an easy class to pass!
Prof. P. is awesome. I took his class online this past summer and not only was it easy, but I learned so much. You use the book a lot, but there are also fascinating FrontLine videos that you watch and post about. I highly recommend this class.
Took him online and he simply was the Best teacher I've had so far. As long as you read the chapters and his power points you will pass his tests.
Great teacher and a very easy class. All you need to do is read the chapters and study his notes for test and you will pass.
This is a subject that I've always loved, and while Mr. P was a very nice and helpful guy, I found it extremely difficult to stay awake through his lectures. Goes around in circles a whole lot and only interacts with previous students. All the tests were almost entirely taken from the book. Easy class if you study the chapters. Still a great man.
He's wonderful. Took him for World Geography during the summer semester. Attendance was not mandatory, but when you attend his lectures, he basically will cover every single exam question. If you attend class and write detailed notes, you'll get an A for sure. Love him! I highly recommend taking him
Took the class online for the summer! He was super nice through emails and the workload was pretty easy! I HIGHLY suggest taking him if you get a chance!
Professor Petropouleas is awesome. I took both International Relations & World Geography with him. As long as you note the points he emphasizes on during lectures, there is no need to have a book.He dedicates a class before a test/exam to review where he basically stresses out what will be on the test! theres no way you'll fail unless your a retart
his syllabus was clear - what you had to do was clear - tests were a little hard but he was great at answering questions and assignments were graded quickly and fairly.
Mr. P is such an amazing teacher! He will always keep you awake in his lecture. He's a very funny guy, if you can't take someone picking in you as a joke, don't take him. This class was my favorite class I have taken, I looked forward everyday to going to the class and learning about history! I STRONGLY recommend him!ps: there's a cell phone Policy
Mr. P is a great professor. He's funny, makes the work easy, repeats everything that is important and will be on the test, and is very interesting to listen to. Come to class, pay attention and take a few notes - you'll pass with an A.
Took the online class. Very clear instructions. Discussion board every week, you just watch a few videos then discuss questions. Test answers are in notes. One quiz a week as well. Just do the work and you'll get an A.
Best online teacher I've had. Discussion board was my favorite part of the class. Watch Frontline videos about areas studied and discuss. Instruction was clear. Do the work, get an A. No bonus work or make ups. Take this class with this teacher.
Professor Petropouleas was the best. I enjoyed World Geography and the discussion boards with my class mates. This is the second class with Professor Petropouleas and I wish he taught more courses in my degree. The course work is not hard, you just have to apply yourself to the course.
Professor Petropouleas is an awesome teacher. He really know a lot about what he is teaching. he is very easy going. Must go to all class to pass because all tests are on his lectures. A book is helpful but not mandatory to pass. As long as you write down most everything he says and study that you will pass the class. Great professor!!
One of my favorite professors I've ever had. Super knowledgeable and makes the class interesting and fun. Take diligent notes. Most of his test questions come from his lectures. Review the sections of the book that he goes over in class. Would highly recommend him. Politically unbiased and real. Just don't text during his class!
First of all this teacher really hates cell phones, it's the only time I've seen him mad. You have 4 map quizzes and 4 tests. He gives review sheets with the terms you need to study and same with the map quizzes. He's funny and his class isn't painful to sit through, I would definitely take again.
Mr. P was a really good teacher. I enjoyed his world geography class very much, though he has the tendency to pick on people a lot. Also, he hates cell phones, and he will go bezerk if you are on one in his class. I MEAN IT... He goes completely nuts. Other than that, his class is pretty easy, and he is a good teacher. I'd highly recommend him.
1 quiz and discussion each week, the quizzes are pretty hard unless you read the book - can't really find the answers online. He's a pretty fair grader.
International Relations was great! The class is 100% lectures all the time. There is absolutely no homework. The best part was his personality, he is constantly cracking jokes and recomending movies. BRING HIM A DONUT AND ASK HIM TO DO A MAGIC TRICK, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
Excellent instructor! Each week you will have one quiz consisting of 25 questions and 1 discussion post. You will need the book to pass the quizzes as you cannot find anything on the internet related to the question. Really enjoyed the instructor. I recommend reading too.
Great guy and funny. Very interesting class but the lectures can be long and the tests are hard even if the info is gone over in class. Very understanding with attendance. I suggest that you attend class but when you can't for a good reason, he will fill you in on what you missed if you ask him. Lots of reading. Not an easy A but possible.
I have no idea how I passed this class. The chapters are extremely long, with a ton of information. There are no practice quizzes available, so you have no idea what you really need to know for each chapter tests. Maybe he gives more insight on what he expects on campus.
ONLINE CLASS, THERE ARE NO GUIDELINES AS WHAT TO STUDY. WROTE PAGES OF NOTES HIGHLIGHTING CHAPTERS AND SECTIONS. HAD A TOUGH TIME TAKING QUIZES EVEN AFTER READING AND TAKING NOTES. HE PICKS MINUSCULE ITEMS IN THE CHAPTER TO TEST ON. ONLINE IS NOT THE WAY TO GO WITH THIS PROFESSOR.
Class is somewhat interesting but reminded me more of a humanities class than geography. On average one test and discussion post per week and that's it, not necessarily an easy a but an easy, clear cut class with some work that's not too hard. Hint: buy book one edition down and is also available as a free ebook on Google books too to save money.
His classes are boring. Really if you want to do this class, do it online. He is kind of messy. He will explain one day chapter 7 and then chapter 6. He does follow the book but doesn't explain very well. Be ready to memorize countries. The tests are quite difficult. You need to study hard. He is sometimes funny and talks about football A LOT.
Professor Petropouleas, again, is one outstanding instructor. His grading criteria is absolutley clear. Do what is assigned in full and expect an 'A'. The semester (like GEO2000) consists of 11, 25 question quizzes and 11 discussions. For the most part the work is fairly easy. Every answer is found in the book and discussions are common sense.
Had a lecture in every class. He didnt really specify what was going to be on the test. There are map quizzes where you have to fill in an empty map with the correct country. The tests were pretty difficult. However he is funny and makes jokes along the way. DO NOT pull out your cellphone during any class time!
Professor P is a great lecturer, very well versed in International Relations. You will learn a lot in his class. In order for you to get the best grade: You need to study. I very much enjoyed his class because he made it fun and interesting. He is very gentle giant , and DSC is lucky to have him. I recommend him to all.
In Nick P's World Geography class, map-quizzes are regular; they're an easy A, and helpful when it comes time to learn about the culture and history of those regions. His tests are more difficult, but with the right attitude, this class can be fun and informative. Nick P is a funny guy who knows how to reinforce knowledge in his students.
Looks like an easy A but it isn't. Map quizzes are easy but the tests are somewhat hard. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. The textbook is hard to use but buy it because you will use it in class.
I love professor P.! He's great & his classes are super fun! He has map quizzes, but he provides you with great study tools to help you learn and pass. I didn't use the book; but I didn't miss a day of class. For me, it was enough to show up, listen, & take notes. The exams come straight from lectures. He's really funny & his class is never boring!
I took his accelerated online class over the summer. Prepare for lots of reading and studying. His tests are faulty, giving incorrect scores each test, so expect to see your grade dip or increase each week. The professor himself is very helpful. I asked him study tips and he gave me really useful advice! The class was hard, but he made it easier!
I enjoyed taking this class. All we had to do was watch a video and write a discussion post about it, take tests, and write two 400 word essays. The tests were very hard for me but he usually boosted up the test grade by a few points every time. Overall, good professor and I would take him again.
Great professor
Well, Dr.P not organized. He doesn't have any power-points or notes. He talks 90 minutes. Lecture are so boring. I know why everyone is happy about him,cuz he raises your grade by at least 10%. If you wanna get a C and no knowledge,so take him. Tests are so hard. He is funny and kind but it's not what you need, you need knowledge!
He barely teaches anything in this class. if you don't listen during lecture you will not know anything that is going on during the test. he has questions on the test that he never has even mentioned.
Professor P was the man! 4 tests, very interesting lectures. He explains the key to getting an A in his class the first day and I followed it and got my A. His class pushed me to pursue a major in International Relations. Very nice guy. Very funny. Very easy A if you do the readings and attend lecture.
Freeform Lecture is kinda all over the place. I had to record mine to keep up. He has PowerPoints in online section. You wont be using them at all. map quizzes? Easy. No probs there. The actual tests, if you dont go to class, will be challenging. But he does email study guides to you. as long as you make an effort & listen to him? Youll be fine.
Great teacher. Grades almost immediately and is clear with instructions. I would take his class again!
Purely lectures. As long as you pay close attention to them, you should get passing grades on the tests as they are purely based on the lectures. The only other grades were for extremely easy fill-in-the-blank map quizzes that can be aced after one short study period each. The class was boring and filled with corny jokes from start to finish.
Easy online class, fair and fast grader
Cool guy. Funny lectures. Zero tolerance for phones. Sarcastic. Take the practice quizzes they will help immensely on the tests. Dont stress over map quizzes they are worth nothing compared to the tests
NP is a great guy! His lectures are very hard to understand at times because they largely consist of weird analogies, but he gives study guides for the tests so its easy to look up in the book. Homework is done weekly and is easy. Tests are tricky but still made it out with an A. He is very funny and interesting and would take him again.
He is an amazing professor! He is funny but can be sarcastic at times. His lectures are really good but it can be hard to follow with his analogies. He is very strict on the cell phone policy. Professor P really cares about his students and it really shows. His class is very easy!Anyone can earn an A in his class as long as you are focused.
Took his online class over half the summer and it was a lot of reading. Open book quizzes several times a week and several discussion posts every week. Easy professor, but take all the practice quizzes. Most questions on the actual quiz come from those. I can't vouch for him in person as I never met him, but online he's easy.
Despite all the situations with Covid-19, we were originally planned to do 4 map quizzes and 5 unit test. Strict cell phone policy for starters! The map quizzes were easy and the unit test weren't too bad. I suggest you review the practice questions before test day. Amazing professor but I wish I got more time to finish off the year with him.
I took international relations online and it was a breeze! the class consists of 11 discussions and 11 tests as well as a post test. because of covid 19, he dropped a test and opened all assignments.
I had Professor Petropouleas during the Coronavirus outbreak, and he was very understanding of everyone's situation. The assignments are straightforward, and he is not harsh with grading. I would definitely recommend him.
the best prof ever!
Taking this course online you have 2 things due every week. A test about 25 questions long in 50 minutes which is hard at all. The other thing due is a video and a summary about it and 1 response to a classmate. You can pick between a selection of videos and they are always very interesting!
easy A class, but he knows nothing about the real world or about other countries. he started talking about my home country and told complete lies about it. he did the same thing when he mentioned Prisoners of War. I am South African and a military kid. I corrected him both times to where he tried to correct himself but instead insulted me
I took the accelerated GEO200 and it was 10 quizzes and discussions based of Vice docuentaries. Very simple and he was an easy grader.
He is very funny and lectures are easy to stay engaged in. His tests are easy, map quizzes easy, study guides/PPTs thorough, and you learn a lot about the world and life. I did not think that this class would be fun, but it was! 100% would take again!
He was an amazing teacher for International Relations. The workload was nice and easy, just make sure to keep up with your reading. The discussion boards were not difficult, and the videos he assigned were very interesting. He is a very fair grader and you learn alot in his class. Would definitely reccommend!
I loved being in this class. The professor has a good sense of humor which is seen in his lectures and made me look forward to coming to class. You can tell he cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Extra credit opportunities are also offered through watching VICE videos and writing about them. Overall fun and easy class.
Professor Petropouleas was great. the assignments are pretty easy if you follow the guidelines he gives and you'll do fine. the assignments were consistent which I liked, the same day of every week you know you'll have two assignments. grading was fair, and as long as you put in an effort you'll pass. would 100%take this professor again.
Solid class and consistent with work load, every week a discussion is due as well as a quiz. The quizzes are very easy and the discussions are watching a vid, responding to it in your opinion, and responding to a classmate. Beware no extra credit or late submissions !
This class is awesome! For the discussions you literally pick a video (from VICE) about what you've been learning and summarize it! The videos were so entertaining and I really enjoyed doing the work!
Probably by far the least stressful class I have ever taken in college. Workload is light and comparable to a class such as SLS1122; I had an extremely busy semester but I never had to worry about getting anything done for this class. As long as you turn in everything on time, you will easily pass. Highly recommend taking!
Professor Petropouleas makes this class really engaging with fun VICE video discussions. The workload is manageable, and grading is fair. I found unstuck AI super helpful for quiz prep alongside the course materials.
Great professer, class was easy.
He's a good professor who cares about his students. The class is very easy however your grade depends on two Test.
His class was pretty easy, but it was clear he still cared about what students wrote in the discussions. On the posts he would give pretty good feedback and make interesting comments. There was about 10 different tests over the half semester, which were not hard at all and even just skimming the textbook can be enough to get an A on all of them.
