he is really passionate about art, so much that he expects everyone to be like that. he gives SO MUCH work. if you want to practice drawing, take his class. if you dont have experience drawing, dont. he is really tough when it comes to grading because he expects everyone to know how to draw pretty well... aand it is a all-nighters guaranteed class.

He's honestly not the right teacher to start with, because I definitely came into the class with more knowledge than most. If you know how to draw, you'll be good. If you're not good to begin with, I would take a different teacher. I've had a LOT of homework but it's doing it's job.

Honestly the best professor I've ever had-He cares for his students and is extremely passionate about what he does. He gives a lot of homework, If you know how to manage your time correctly, this really isn't an "all-nighter" class. Even though it was difficult-I learned more in his class than any of my others combined. It's worth the extra effort!

Very passionate about art. He will give good feedback and help improve your artwork. There is a lot of homework assignments, but time management helps. There are extra credit opportunities and he's accessible outside of class. Overall, not a bad professor, taking him again next quarter.

He is one of the best professors, I took draw100. This class is for students who don't want to be in their comfort zones and want to test their limits of drawing and skills. If you really want to learn how to draw be 100% dedicated to this class and you will see the results at the end of the last class. He boosts the confidence in students!

I had his online class from COVID and I honestly would've preferred to take it on ground. Drawing class online are so hard, but considering, he was really helpful and helped me improve greatly. He had so many projects though and while the projects are good for beginners, I didn't particularly enjoy the subject matter. Really friendly though.

Very passionate about anatomy and art in general. Just for that reason, I'd take a class of his again. Sometimes he would give a very large amount of work, but would be open to change due dates if everyone was struggling.

I don't draw, at all. He is good at understanding that this is a foundations class and not everyone likes drawing. He gives better grades if you get involved - send him work outside of class, chat in the zoom call, etc.. If you try your absolute best than you can get an A. Lectures are kinda boring tho, it's a decent 8 am.

Reszetar likes to push you to be better and is obviously really passionate about art. Took him in Fall 2019 (Pre-Rona), and in-person corrections of work were very helpful. If you don't have much drawing experience, you may need to practice a bit more out of the required sketchbook pages to get where you need to be. Very professional.

SO MUCH WORK. Weekly sketchbook work piles up for midterms and finals. Did 5 portfolios that contained 1 major project and 3+ minor projects each. A written assignment. No studio time. That being said: always willing to help, passionate, quick email replies, no tests, fun projects, specific feedback, good demos. Pushes you to improve.

I had no drawing experience at all. Under Prof. Nick I got a solid start - my final piece was impressive (IMHO)! He cares, is accessible outside of class (everything is Zoom right now), and gives good feedback. He also assigns a TON of homework. Sketchbooks, small exercises, and a large piece every couple of weeks. Hard, but I'm taking him again.

Prof. Reszetar is excellent if you really want to improve your drawing skills. He teaches anatomy and gesture drawing in detail, and provides a lot of materials to study and practice. That also means he gives a lot of homework. It is hard, but if you meet all the requirements, you will definitely get advancement in drawing.

Known to give HEAVY, all nighter workload. But if you want to improve, hes the one. Tons of practice, detailed feedback, organized, answers emails quickly for help, and encourages extra help sessions. You will learn A LOT and pass if you put in your effort. Take him if you wanna create loads of work and if youre as passionate in drawing as him.

I had a wonderful time in this professors class I had him for my first two quarters and Ive learned and improved so much in his class. If you work hard in this class it will show in your grade. This prof does give a good amount of work but if you dont procrastinate you will be fine. You use many different medias and it a great class!

I took Reszetar's drawing classes two quarters in a row. While his classes are demanding, if you are looking for growth in drawing, you will make progress like in no other class. In addition, his passion for art and teaching is inspiring,refreshing. The atmosphere in class is great due to his positive spirit. Him and his words, you will remember.

I wont stray away this class is HARD. This was the only class I really had to try for but with that I learned a whole bunch and even improved more in my art skills than any of the other classes I had taken. I recommend him but just like he says procrastination is your biggest adversary just work for 2 hours a day and youll be fine.

As long as you stay on top of your work and dedicate yourself multiple hours a day, you should be able to come out of this class with a good grade and newfound skills. Professor Reszetar is extremely passionate about all aspects of art, and appreciates students of all skill level as long as you apply yourself and put in the proper effort.

The class overall was easy, however, it was difficult to keep up with all of the assignments w/o staying up till 4 am every night to keep up. The textbook was required to take written/drawn notes. Although, he is a tough grader he gives great feedback and explains ways to fix them, which are great especially if you are struggling on an assignment.

I took two of Professor Rezetar's classes, and be prepared to grind. He will push you to your limits, but I would not be where I was today if it wasn't for him. He also gives the BEST projects, no boring stuff; even the still-life projects are fun. If you're willing to put in the effort, his class will transform your skills as an artist forever.

Nick's class was hands down my favorite college drawing course I've ever taken, and also one of the most demanding. The class is super project heavy, but each assignment feels meaningful and fulfilling. Go in with an open mind and desire to actually improve yourself as a serious artist, and Professor Reszetar will literally be your new best friend.

He really knows what he is talking about and while the class is very time consuming, as long as you put in effort (maybe more than you think you should), you will get an A. This is coming from someone that has never drawn a person before and sucked at it! Now I am not as bad. LOL!

Although there is alot of Major assignments, exercises and sketchbook work to do if you manage your time well it will be fine. The textbook is recommended to read before class if possible because it helps so much while drawing with him in class. He was super positive and laughed all the time. His feedback was quick and his grading also super fast.

I absolutely loved professor Rez! He is really passionate about teaching and the class will make you SO much better. Make sure to be ready to work, or to take other courses with a lighter load though, because the course work is really intense! I was working like, 10 hours + a week for this class.

This class was brutal but that's normal for everyone who's unfamiliar with anatomy and gesture. He made sure that we're getting something out of the torment, and I do not regret taking his class because aside from improving my art skills, I learnt time management, tolerance and patience. Take this class if you're serious about improving your art!

HE GIVES SO MUCH HOMEWORK OH MY GOD. Your midterm and final sketchbooks are so much notes DO NOT slack on your sketchbook you will fall behind. Go to Jen to look at the textbook you can easily get those chapters done in a visit or two. He gives big projects and two weeks to work on them outside of class and another big project to work on in class.

Professor Rez is great. When my friends and I noticed we were registered with Rez, and saw the reviews, we were worried. But as the class went on we noticed the reviews were slightly exaggerated, At least for us. If you stay on task, and make an effort in the course, you can do fine in the class, regardless of your skills coming into the course.

Nick Reszetar was probably the hardest professor ive had. On the contrary, it was definitely the most fulfilling class i have taken. You really learn a lot from what he hammers into you through your work in the sketchbooks, still lifes, and the projects on top of that. I really found my drawing style while in his class.

If your coming to SCAD to become a better artists Professor Reszetar will push you to become 10x the artists you were before you went here. A good amount of homework but if you put in the effort your grade will reflect.

He is definitely one of the hardest professors at least for foundation classes. There will be so much work but I think it really helps to prepare for the real world work. At first it was very overwhelming but I think because of how much information, techniques and work I got in class I have improved so much.

This class is an absolute gift I recommend to all incoming freshman! Professor Reszetar is amazing!

Professor Reszetar did not teach me to draw, but to see. As one who did not draw frequently, Professor Reszetar pushed my skills to the extreme. His course is not an easy A, nor is it for everyone. You must be willing to put the time and energy into this class and ask for the assistance when needed. Show him you care and your grade will reflect

If you don't like work, then do not take this class. If you want to push yourself and become and overall better artist than this is the class for you. I have never learned so much information so fast, best teacher of my life.

Awesome teacher, but be warned this class is not easy. You will be doing a lot of work outside of class, but was worth it as my drawing skills improved 10x. He doesn't give you an option to NOT improve. If you want an easy grade or believe that drawing has nothing to do with your major I suggest getting a different teacher. Taking him next quarter.

One of the toughest classes I've ever had, but I would take it again in a heartbeat with the improvement I had in just two months alone. You'll see what you're made of as an artist in this class, as long as you keep up with the assignments. Could be a bit more flexible, but he's preparing you for real world professional deadlines.

I loved professor Rez!!! He assigns lots of notes so be prepared and he is a little tough on grading but he cares soo much about making his students better artists. He gives you so many opportunities to make a better grade so if you want to get an A you can. If you go to class and try hard and really want to get better at drawing take this class.

Honestly if you put in the effort and pay attention to his teachings as well as criteria you can easily pass this class. He makes you feel like you ca live up to your potential and improve drastically. 10/10

Lots of work for my first quarter here. It was absolutely brutal!! Learnt a lot though. I took him again for DRAW101. His grading criteria is clear, projects are interesting enough to work on. Many Extra credit opportunities are offered. Time management is imperative. As he says, procrastination is our biggest adversary in this class.

Professor Res. Is a really great but challenging teacher. He's a tough grader and there's a huge amount of textbook reading. Despite that he's incredibly passionate and I easily learned the most I've ever learned in a class. Drawing centered majors are the people I really recommend this class for.

I took inventing environments with Prof Resz, and it was an overall great class! He gives lots of good feedback when you ask for it. Be ready to do a lot of prep work. Work can be difficult but he offers extra credit opportunities, you just need to reach out and participate!

An amazing teacher. He also guides you to apply drawing principles in ways that will help you in your major. Sends specific video feedback outside of class which is super helpful Theres a good amount of work but as long as you stay on top of it you'll be fine. I learned more from him than any other class at SCAD. Highly recommend Professor Resz.

Great professor that can really get you to improve how you draw and approcach certain subjects. He is however a tough grader so you'll really have to spend time outside of class and all inclass time studying and im proving. He does give really good feedback and help you learn how to use tools and where to start etc.

Nick Reszetar is a very fun professor! His extended knowledge of human anatomy made him fantastic for this class. He gives good feedback despite being a more harsh grader. He rewards great time and effort, and he does assign large projects! Overall he is very enthusiastic and fun to be around, and created a very welcoming environment to be in.

Love/Hate relationship with Resz. Workload was intense- my husband & kids missed me being "present" at home, but I'd often catch my 7 year old doing her own version of my assignments for this class. Online classes were engaging. Resz's expectations are very high & I might have cried from stress a few times. Considering doing the drawing minor now.

I know a lot of people hate Prof Rez, but hear me out. Yes he assigns way to much work, you'll prob pull many all nighters, and sob at 2am twice. But he will make you a fantastic drawer. If you have no drawing experience, his class is tough but if you put in the effort, you will come out with incredible skill, long as you try hard and turn in work

This is not an easy class by any means, but the feedback I received from Prof. Rez was invaluable. He always gave quality feedback while highlighting your strengths. He was always in a good mood and was super fun in class. If you put in the work, he will appreciate you a lot. Some of my best pieces of artwork came out of taking his class. recommend

Ive had prof rez for two semesters now, and trust me it wasnt all happy feelings. in draw 200, he could never remember anyones name, seemed extremely amused by everyones stress due to the amount of assignments given, etc. But as the quarter went on, i grew to really like the class. I made such amazing pieces for my portfolio, went on to take 101

Prof Rez was very enthusiastic and clearly passionate about life drawing! He is always accessible for help and improvement. This class requires a lot of dedication and his expectations are pretty high, but I'd say it's so worth it. Beware of a lot of reading and notes, and don't get behind on the 100 gesture drawings (i crammed mine lol).

I read the comments on this website before the course, however, I don't think they are accurate. He is good at explaining and the workload isn't a lot. Everything we did in class helped me improve my skills. I wish I could had more feedback (things I should improve) in my work (he was really sweet l and always gave good comments on critique).

I had never taken a drawing class before and I can draw now so. Absolutely love him so sweet and wish I have him again

He's silly. depending on your skill level, he will give u more feedback as you work. loved his class and I looked forward to it. I wish I had him again. Assigns 10-page notes which is pretty annoying and time-consuming. Other than that, I learned a lot.

Really fun and sweet guy. Very engaging. Used a lot of mediums I would not have fully utilized outside of the class, came out with a better understanding on how to use said materials. Expanded my skillset very quickly. Projects can be intensive and needs lots of time devoted to it, but provides good structure and will help you improve quickly.

Honestly such a sweet and funny guy, loved him as a person but the course-load was insane. Projects were very engaging but were expected to be done in a week or less so only take this class if you are prepared to work on these projects for 2-3 hours outside of class every single day. Procrastination is not an option. Harsh grader as well.

Rez is tough, but caring about students. Projects are tough, but exercises help prepare you, even with no experience in the materials. If you email him for feedback, he'll send videos with explanations. He's very attentive and ready to help when you show you care. Would definitely recc, do know it'll be a few tough projects but you'll learn a lot

If you are going into a drawing heavy major I can't stress enough to take class from this professor. Prof. Rez has a big personality, and so much passion for art. He is so honest and blunt and will tell you how it is, so don't expect this class to be easy. I filled a full 1.3 sketchbooks just from assignments for this class and I grew so so much !!

If you're gonna draw a lot in your major TAKE THIS CLASS-It made me improve so much. He's accommodating and cares about his students as long as you put in effort and show a willingness to learn. Sometimes he might not give as much feedback as I'd like, but if you ask him directly he'll give you great, blunt/honest input. Do not procrastinate!!
