tough but fair
you really have to study for this class!
Writes a new book every semester to make money off of students.....nerdy guy
first class I had to really study for but it's a cool class
the high school kids complain about him becoz they have to study hard.
great pics in class. You have to read the textbook to pass
mind-blowing subject. Teacher follows the rules in the syllabus
hes a bad lecturere AND he writes the book so you only get one point of view
Very knowledgable, high requirements compared to other BC profs.
Incredibly easy class, this guy absolutely loves the material and it shows. LoL, so what if he's a nerd, many of us are, too!! =) Yes, he wrote his own book, I prefer that to something churned out by the publishing companies.
This guy is a real stickler! Very hard class, does make money of students every semester by publishing new book!
He's very unclear. You must buy his book, a new one every semester so forget about trying to sell it. Also, his lectures are all over the place. Forget about asking for help, he treats you as though you are an idiot. BEWARE!!
AWFUL CLASS!! BEWARE!! Take another science class for your requirement.
Like someone said before: He expects students to do their reading and take charge of their education. The immature kids out of high school don't like him because he's teaching a college class like a college science class. You've got to work for your A!
great pics and animations but I have to work hard for a good grade. Guy is great one-on-one in office hrs.
Seems like a really smart guy. Just don't try and take astronomy via ITV. The material is very difficult to learn ITV.If you take astronomy, take his regular class.
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!This class was so hard for me... I had to drop it... try something else for your requirement... it was one sided... he wrote his own book... one sided again... for me... it was really hard...if you do take it... work hard...really hard....
Although he wrote the textbook, he provides a lot of other resources (including other textbooks) for students to use if they don't like his textbook. Gotta work for a good grade! Wish I used his office hours sooner!
This class was so hard. I knew 5 other ppl who where taking it at the same time as me and all 6 of us failed it. He has an ego the size of Jupiter. Furthermore, the catalog says you need basic math, but you really needed calculous!
It's a tough class but very interesting. Have to study + read the textbook to do well. He did warn us that modern astronomy is a "physics of the cosmos" and now I believe him. The class is a lot more than I originally thought. I use his office h
He's hard. he wrote his own book! then he cracks these stupid jokes in class and you don't know he's telling a joke until you go home and read the book and find the joke in there! his humor is the size of an atom!
Hard class. You will have to work HARD for a good grade. Don't take this class while you have other hard classes. Pay attention, read raed read! He is extremely helpful and will do whatever he can to make sure you understand. If you ask. . .
Just pay attenttion, and don't be like the others who don't care enough to read, do homework problems, go to the tutor, and study. This is a hard class, so don't slack off. you only need basic math. If you can add, sub,. mult, and divi. you will be fine. You also need to be able to reason.
Teaches as though we already know everything he is talking about and are just touching base. He wrote the text for the class and the book is full of run-on sentences that make no sense in English.
He was by far the worst prof. I've had. I read every ch., went to every class except one(the one I missed I had a doctors note and he still didn't let me make up my work) and I still had to drop. I've known about 10 people who've had him and they have either had to drop or got D's or F's
He doesn't really get through to the students very well. He doesn't get the student interested.
a class I did have to study for and I did use his office hours occasionally when I had a roadblock. I never thought modern astronomy had so much stuff to it. He does teach a challenging class, but I'm still glad I took it. Now I see my connection to the universe and how it all works together. Cool!
Had to take class to get science credit. Tough class but in the end it was worth it. Had to study to get my B but he helped me one-on-one. Now see how all the universe works together. Good sense of humor.
The teacher was very good, but the material was extremely complicated. The first test was the hardest so try to survive that, then after it gets better. Also make sure the project u do is the one with the ex. attached to it, it helps a lot.
I hated this teacher. I took the class online and I would not recommend that to anyone. I had no idea Astromony was another language. The concepts are extremely difficult to understand. Do not take this class!
There are better science classes to take to fulfill your science credits. I would elaborate more but there isn't enough room in the servers to hold what I have to write. Just don't take the class. It will save your time, Stroble's time, and the school's
OMG dont' take this class online you may need help which is difficult to get if you're online. Be serious if you're taking this class its hard! Or i'm too stupid for this class. haha either way good teacher he's into his material so study!

The course shedule says you need basic algebra skill for the class, but you'll actually need far more advanced math skill. Prof. is really out of touch w/ the reality of who he's teaching. Doesn't seem to care about his students. I think he might hate himself and is taking it out on students.
This is a tough class but is worth taking if you are interested in the stars. He will teach you alot of concepts so study and use his office hours whenever you need to, he will answer any questions you may have. Again VERY TOUGH CLASS
It was a very difficult class, but it was worth taking. Very nice guy. I would recommend taking this course to anyone if they are interested in the stars. Although be prepared, a lot of information to digest. He is more than willing to help out when you need help. Now I understand more on how the universe works.
Mr Strobel is a very negative, arrogant teacher. Don't take this class unless you go in with the mind to just "agree" with everything he presents to you. He cannot take anyone opposing his ideas and theories.
expects a lot from the students but not more than college level should be. Need to read the textbook.
Wrote his own textbook. Instead of only teaching what he wants you to believe, he inserts opinions on what you should NOT believe in (any belief system other than Science). I came to learn about Astronomy, not to be persuaded that if I believed in Astrology, I was therefore ignorant. Unfortunately, that kind of arrogance was too distracting.
He's funny and very friendly. As for writing his own textbook, he came from to BC from a university and most professors from higher-tier schools do make their own books required reading. I don't anticipate this class being very hard to pass at all.
This was one of the worst classes I have ever taken. The professor never really makes anything clear. Professor is not flexible regarding assignments, quizzes, or exams.
I love this topic and class. Prof. Strobel is brilliant, funny and fair, and I've never been bored in class. And I think he's adorable. :D As for him devaluing astrology as a scientific field, he never said people are "ignorant" for buying into the Zodiac; and he was never arrogant about it. Did you even pay attention to what he said?
Horrible. It's impossible to write in the lecture notes because his lectures are so unorganized. He wrote the book and the test in the most incomprehensible way. Also, I think he likes to make people feel stupid.
He is a very hard teacher.
Stroble is kirky & funny but expects you to be an adult in college. Great teacher & passionate; dislikes astrology ;) U must turn things in on time, doesn't accept excuses or lates. Attendance is a must, points given every day and quiz every Wednesday that is open book, open partner. Exam is the quiz questions basically. Extra credit HW is offered.
Very good teacher. I had no interest at all prior to taking this class, and now I'm considering a degree geared torwards astronomy. I will say that the teacher is sometimes unclear but if you visit him during his office hours he is more than willing to help out.
Not fun at all! Lots of math so watch out.. Nice guy but not too interesting.
this class is soo hard and boring..you got a project he doesnt say anything about until its due..so much info to comprehend at once...very hard wouldnt recommend
very hard class. seems as if professor makes the class more difficult than it should be. His expectations are way too high! If you are thinking of taking this class prepare for hours and hours of out of class work.
Don't take take this class, just don't. Seriously, the man cannot teach and the textbook is just more of him incomprehensibly droning on. The reason I've been able to keep up at all: google. Also the major project he requires is incredibly impractical- requiring hours of work or miles of travel.
As a professor, Strobel is pretty good. He's gracious and fairly helpful. However, the class is HARD, especially for non-science people. Only reason I got an A was the TON of extra credit he offers. There's a quiz every week, homework due twice a week, and tough exams. Study for them, you'll be fine, but they are hard. Good professor, tough class.
Not a hard class but, he is terrible. Very unclear and completely unhelpful.
This professor should NOT be teaching, he is unfair as well as stuck up which is funny because he is horrible. He thinks everyone should know everything already about his class. This is a beginning class to be taugh by an instructor who should understand people need the basics!!! I have been in school for years, by far this is THE WORST INSTRUCTOR
HE ROCKS!
Hard class, time consuming BUT WORTH IT. PPL say he does not teach but he does it in a very limited period of time. We have quizzes and shows during class. HW is easy but no late work or make-ups. He is enthusiastic. Don't take it if your not motivated because you'll fall behind quickly. He is punctual and is always there during office hours.
horrible teacher extremely hard and in order to pass this class you would have to dedicate yourself solely to this class tons of work and lots of out of class studying doesnt explain well!!!!1
I hear everybody complaining about how they don't know whats going on BUT when u ask them if They read they say NO... Read, do the Hw, Study your quizzes and U'll do fine on the Exams... Also gives a lot of Extra Credit
Professor Strobel is horrible, the most horrible man/class i've ever met/taken. He expects way to much from you, including hours and hours of work, or miles of travel. DO NOT take this class. I was a 3.5 GPA student before i took this impossible class. The only way to pass this class is to dedicate you're entire life to it. WORST CLASS EVER
I loved this class. Although you did have to read the book and do all the homework (it is a college level class) I enjoyed it very much. He is always ready to help you and any question you have whether it has to do with what he is talking about right then or not he will help. You cannot slack off but it is not super difficult.
He is the most enthused teacher I have ever had. His enthusiasm always brightened my day. He always dressed to impress. (I LOVE his sweaters!) I love how dedicated he is to not only Astronomy, but education in general. He had articles in the newspaper about Astronomy as well as an opinion article on the budget cuts affecting us. I just love him.
You will love his little Astronomy movies and tutorials- he takes you into space virtually and has nifty music that accompanies you on your travels. He also makes a lot of his material himself- movies, graphics, and the textbook. The key is to use the keys in the Library and study those for the test! I got above a 100 on my tests doing JUST that!
I found him not very patient with the students. He does not encourage questions and will answer you as if you are inferior to him in every way. He puts the students work on the ground to pick up signifying disrespect and degradation to his students. I have never encountered a Professor like him before. He instructs us as if we are grad students.
I'm really disapointed in his teaching methods. He teaches us as if we are supposed to know astronomy or as if this is a majors course. He is also quite unfriendly. At first i tried to be positive and tell myself he was a nice guys. I didn't really work out i was lying to myself. All in all take this class at your own risk.
This class is really difficult, i had two other people in my study group we study together all the time and the 3 of us feel we deserved a higher grade than what we got. he is really moody at times he looks at you as if you just spilled a drink on his shirt when you ask him a question. Not sure why he is in such a bitter mood all the time.
Just finished with my final today and im done with this class!!! I have never been so happy before about ending a semester. this class was crucial it was harsh. I didnt enjoy it one bit. he acted nice on the first week, but after that it was tooth and nail to stay alive
This class is absurdly difficult! I am a Chem E major and for those of you that don't know what that is it's chemical engineeing. I have taken calc1,2,3 phys, etc etc. this class is hardest by far! i was going to take this as an elective and found out i just walked into a bear trap!!! well its over now im off to cal poly next sem!!! cheers!!!
This guy is really something. Not a good instructor at all, he thinks he's always right and doesn't let students express their ideas or questions. He reminds me of some communist leader; he's got the Joseph Stalin look going on. He will push his beliefs on you about real science vs bogus science. Moreover, he should humble himself.
I was kinda stuck into this class. I took it because all the science classes was filled. This was the only class open and after the first 2 weeks i could see why. The instructor is very nit picking, perfectionist more or less. this should be a 5 unit class for all the work that he has the students do. very frustrating course
this class was much easier than it first seemed. I spent about four hours studying over the entire semester and got an A on all exams and the final. everything on the tests is covered by the lectures, even the tests themselves have cliffs notes of the material stapled onto them. I can't understand how anyone could fail this class.
This was a really informative classs, but most definitly not an easy A. I would not recomend taking this class if you arent already somewhat interested in the subject matter. It involves a lot of physics and complicated science, which he expects you to know, understand, and be able to apply to real life situations.
Super Hard Class Unbelievably difficult i suggest NOT taking this class...DONT DO IT! Walk Away!
I don't like the guy. That being said he is a good teacher. Strict but fair for the most part. Follow along with the lecture, write down what he tells you is important and do the HW and you'll be fine. If science isn't your thing, you're looking at a low B, high C. Take it and be happy.
This class was unbelievably hard at first! I had done poorly on every homework assignment and on the first exam. I figured out that you need to read text before class lecture and exams are composed of 95% of quizzes. Don't miss any quizzes and take as much notes as possible! Study group recommended. Good luck!
Professor Strobel is a genius and a very helpful and knowledgeable professor. Astronomy isn't easy, regardless if its at a junior college. Bakersfield' closed minded and stupid students should respect the man. If you're not smart enough for the subject, don't take it.
hard class, but he gives out a lot of extra credit and is always available during office hours for students having problems with the material. STUDY the quiz keys and READ the text book and you should get a decent grade! by far one of the BEST professors on campus! if you want a decent grade then STUDY otherwise don't complain!
quizes are really hard
Although this class was difficult for me it was very enjoyable. Prof.Strobel was there when I had questions and believe me I had a lot, his exams are based off his quizzes which made studying easy. He warns you it's a hard class, so don't be suprised when it is. If you don't do math, you'll have a difficult time. Overall good teacher
Most challenging and enjoyable class at BC. I learned more than I thought I would. There is math, but hardly any, so don't let that stop you. Most of it is comprehending concepts. Tons of extra credit, assignments and tests not weighted, impossible to fail unless you don't read the book or study.
This is a really great class despite my rating. The subject matter is amazing, and you can tell that the professor really has a passion for what he does. However, this does not mean he is an effective professor, he has a strange way of wording questions or explanations in such a way that thoroughly over-complicates the topic.
He's not a bad instructor but I would not recommend this class if you already are a full time student because it is very demanding. Work load feasible, but he over simplifies the concepts which make it very confusing. Very fun atmosphere, the guys knows his stuff I just would not recommend it unless its your only class because it is time consuming.
DO NOT take his class unless you are only taking his or one more. Doesn't help you review, barely lectures about material needed to know for his weekly quizzes, and doesn't care to make it interesting. If you don't like his teaching style within the first week, drop.
Mr. Strobel is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches. He has high expectations and the course is hard but if you put in the work and ask questions in class or via email he replies in a timely manner. The book is optional since there is a free online version. There are weekly quizzes which are challenging but are open book/notes.
Rude when asked questions about the material. Tests were extremely difficult, hardly taught in class, most of the work was online. I do NOT recommend this professor. He takes his PHD credit very seriously. he should maybe consider teaching at a University for astronomy majors.
Difficult course to take. Strobel is not very helpful, when you ask him a question he doesn't really even answer it, he makes you figure it out on your own. There are quizzes every Wednesday. This class is tough but if you out your full effort, and are determined to pass you will pass. Study your quizzes those are the key to the exams. Study hard.
I'm shocked at his poor ratings. Prof. Strobel communicates weekly via email, makes quizzes open note and open neighbor, and the 4 exams are based off quizzes. We had one major project and four months to work on it. Mine took less than a week to complete. Pay attention, do your work, study a bit, and you'll get an A.
Class requires a lot of reading, lecture alone will not be a way to even pass the class. There is a weekly quiz and homework assignments but they are open book and notes. He gives a lot of extra credit, his test may be difficult but he gives to a chance to get some credit back by doing test corrections. He is very helpful.
Honestly i wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is taking it just for GE requirements. Its very time consuming, not easy, and can be very confusing . Most people seem to be struggling and unless its your only class of the semester you will want to pull your hair out. Hes a very smart, nice professor and really knows his stuff.
Strobel is a great teacher because he instills a passion for his subject in his students. Astronomy will always be a wonderful subject, regardless of the teacher, and I think he recognizes that. He delivers the information effectively and steps back to allow students to forge their own connection with the timeless, boundless cosmos. Great class.
Strobel is a great professor, he's always there to help and teaches very well. The exams are tough and so are the finals. If you don't want to spend long days studying for finals and exams I suggest you take a different class.
DO NOT TAKE ANY ASTRONOMY CLASSES! I am a straight A student and I have never received so many bad grades in my life. He gets annoyed when you ask for help. The book is basically useless. The homework is barely related to anything in class and you have to do it before you even learn about it. Honestly, the worst class I've ever had.
The ENTIRE book's on his website. Extra credit on almost every HW assignment. HW every M and W. HW's all online which needs to be done BEFORE class. Quiz every Wednesday (unless there's an exam). 1 Exam a month. Most exam questions are straight from the Quizzes! (which you already have the answers to). Big project at the end (w/ extra credit). :)
I was aware there would be a LOT of work, and there was. BUT, Professor Strobel is WILLING to give advice and help IF YOU ASK. A lot of available extra credit helps boost your grade as are Supplemental Instruction and tutoring. I am not young and had not been in school full-time for 45 years, yet I found this class fascinating. Good information.
Very difficult class, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME TO STUDY A LOT, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You will miss out on a lot if you do not show up to class. Quizzes every wednesday. YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK FOR THE HOMEWORK. otherwise, you will not pass. 3 exams 1 project
This professor is incredibly lecture oriented, so much so that he seems to become irritated when someone has a question. He will either answer, annoyed, or tell them not to ask questions and then fumble to get back on topic. In this same vein, unclear course objectives can become difficult to have clarified as he will give unclear answers.
LOVED this class. Strobel is so great. He is passionate about astronomy, nerdy (funny), but don't expect a good grade with minimal effort. I poured my heart and soul into this class and got a 95% (most people apparently don't, but it's not impossible). Very clear cut about what you need to do to pass, helpful as well. (P.S. I'm a physics major.)
He is very passionate about his job, but he is a very tough grader and unclear when lecturing. If you ask for help, you have to go in during office hours, but not everyone can find time for that. He says you need a book, but I did not use one. Overall, if you're going to take him make sure he is the only class you're taking. VERY HARD!
Strobel's a nice guy, but his class is extremely difficult, especially for a gen ed! His lectures went far and beyond the concepts students were learning. He's really passionate about the subject, but isn't the best about properly teaching the course. With that said though, you can still definitely pass. I got a B, but it was incredibly difficult.
Tough course. Getting ahead on the online homework really helped me because I was forgetting them at first. The answers are in the text. Internet searches help too -not always guaranteed but they can point you in the right direction. Low test scores plus high scores on hw averaged me out at a C. Emailing him has been helpful too.
Great professor, very structured and clear. I struggled for the first part of the semester, but once you figure out his teaching style and his expectations, it gets a lot easier. The course and lectures are interesting and there's several opportunities for extra credit. Quizzes every week, which are very helpful study material for exams.
Great professor! The course is very structured and well taught. Difficult concepts to learn, but he's happy to help and is genuinely passionate about the subject. There's a lot of reading to do at home, but you'll come to class prepared and ready for the weekly quizzes that help cement the material. 3 tests, plenty of chances to get extra credit.
Prof. Strobel was one of my favorite professors at BC. The class was difficult, but an A is certainly attainable with study and effort. The class is a physics class first and foremost. If you enjoy watching Cosmos or space documentaries you will enjoy this class, just be prepared to put in the work.
Proffesor Strobel was very cool. However, it was the toughest class Ive taken. I got an A but there quizzes every week, 3 exams and the final. If you study those youll do good on the final but theres also an extremely long project. Very interesting class but a little much
This class will be easier if you know chemistry, physics, and higher level math. Tons of difficult homework, quizzes, tests, and projects. You will have to go searching the internet to find answers to questions because you will find few using the supplied course materials. High fail rate and extra costs. Proctored online exams use webcams.
This was one of the hardest professors I've had. He doesn't give multiple explanations and if you ask him to further explain he says the exact same thing. His whole class is based off his book and his lectures so don't rely on outside sources for help. Took quizzes a lot and all based on his student guide. I would not recommend him.
Professor Strobel needs to reevaluate how he structures his class. You must learn the material on your own and complete the homework beforehand. If you struggle understanding the topic and fail the homework(it is online) you have no way to redo it or make up the grade. His lectures are lackluster at best.
90% of this class is filler material that you are forced to teach yourself as the professor refuses to go over it in class. Please do not take this class, any other class would be better.
Class based on a textbook he made. Getting it isn't necessary since it's online. Homework due before EVERY class session online. His teaching is okay. The videos he showed us were pretty cool. Cumulative final. 3 Unit tests. Roughly 10+ quizzes that you take but you can work with a partner. Lots of in class assignments. Project was time consuming.
The way he structures his class is baffling. He makes you do the homework first before going over the lecture for the topic, so if you don't know it, you're going to have to learn it on your own, because the lecture will be too late. His grading scale is poorly designed and his lectures are very scatterbrained.
-Hard study material, require lots of critical thinking -15$ for student guide, 42$ for online homework -All assignments planned out -Quiz in class every Wed. open-book, can't really Google -Homework online everyday hard, not relate to lecture slide, only 3 chances to do + project occasionally -3 Exams close-book, based on quiz questions
He's a very passionate professor and I really enjoyed this class. Be warned though, the only thing that matters grade-wise in this class are points. Homework is worth as much as tests because only points matter. There is plenty extra credit however, and a C in this class is also 65%. Definitely not an easy A class, but if you work, you should pass.
This Professor gives tons of useless material to watch and read. His confusing guide book adds more frustration. Articles and videos don't assist with homework, quizzes, or exams. You end up searching the web for videos and articles to teach yourself. He believes it is not his job to "guide" only provide useless material. Says so in syllabus.
If you get less than a C in an Exam he will only let you improve up to a C in an extra exam chance, and that chance isn't worth it! If you struggle with Hard Sciences or Math in general DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It says a survey course but he teaches and grades like it's a major course. I would not recommend taking this class ever.
The teacher had you learn the material outside then goes over problems in class. This means class meetings are pretty much optional. His grading is somewhat fair but some thing will have you wishing you took a different professor. The biggest issue with him is it feels like he never teaches you anything and you do all the work yourself.
Ive never had a more frustrating or difficult experience with a professor. He never taught us a single thing or gave clear instructions. Wed have to teach ourselves, turn in our homework, and THEN hed ask us if we had any questions. I thought prior students on here were exaggerating when they said he was the worst professor but he truly is.
Prof strobel will not cut any corners when it comes to grading you, even if you are .50 away from your next grade, so make sure you read his prerecorded material because his tests are not forgiving. The way his grading is setup is rigged to make you not get an A so unless you are studying this by heart good luck if this is sci class need 2 grad.
Honestly those who gave bad reviews about professor Strobel is because they have never really worked for a grade, Professor Strobel it is a tough grader, but he also gives a lot of extra credit, do your readings, ask questions and you'll pass. Prof. Strobel is very passionate about what he does and will help you without hesitate.
Grading criteria are senseless and contradicting. Finding the information you are looking for when searching through the Canvas modules is nearly impossible. Also, he does not teach but rather bombards you with low-quality YouTube videos and reading material filled with useless information.
He didn't teach and whenever I asked for help he would tell me to go reread the chapter. what got me mad is after exams the answer key was him telling you where the answer was in the chapter but not the answer. Please do not take this professor, hes a very nice man but I feel like he has the philosophy "I struggled so you struggle as well".
There are 98 concepts along with around the same about of vocabulary terms you have to memorise for the final exam. Its very stressful.
His topics are not easy at all. Get ready to read a lot and make sure to understand to do anything he puts you to read . This class was nothing i expected from a solar system class. Learning a lot more in depth which is hard stuff!
teaching style: lecture based read outside of class weekly for quizzes and exam ability to convey the material clearly: no, doesnt go over material clearly expects students to understand weekly reading enthusiastic teacher? no Student hours: available, appears to be upset when I didnt understand material overrall: heavy workload, short deadlines
this professor made me cry, heavy work load lol.
worst professor i've ever had. do not take any of his courses unless you want to treat this single class like a full time job
Crazy project due at the end of the semester! So many homework assignments and quizzes, 3 major exams, midterm/final. No late work. For it being an online course it was extremely hard and stressful. I cried multiple times. Tight deadlines! Very tough grader
Took his online course and did way too much. There will be a project where he has you travel outside of Bakersfield where its dark so you can see stars. Project is a good chunk of your grade. So much info to retain in a small amount of time before the quizzes and exams. Lectures are boring. Tough time navigating the textbook/notes
Professor Strobel's class is challenging, but if you put in the work, you can do well. Engage with the textbook and videos, and utilize study tools like Unstuckstudy to help prepare for the exams. The grading is rigorous, but fair.
Nice and great professor but material is easy but he's VERY pushy when it comes to tutoring if needed or not.
Attendance is mandatory and lots of reading every week if you want to actually understand concepts. Not too hard to pass if you're used to actually working for a grade. He grades pretty fairly and is nice. Reviews make it seem worse than it is.
ALL material is his own. His own worksheets, his own textbook. If you don't like his teaching style you won't like the class. He requires so much homework he took the fun out of learning. HW is due Monday and Thursday so there's no "weekend". You cannot do quizzes/tests early because they're locked. Purposely tries to trip you up on quiz questions.
If you like space, don't take this class. This guy was able to make something as fascinating as astronomy and suck the fun and intrigue out of it. Watching paint dry would be more stimulating than taking this class. His online textbook will make you want to rip your hair because its formatting has not been updated since the 90s. Student beware.
This professor has a terrible way of teaching. Class time hasn't been used for anything useful when it comes down to the homework/exams. He fully expects you to teach yourself the material, while forgetting to give you the concepts you need for said homework/exams. Only goes over important things AFTER you do the homework/exams. made me crash out.
Run don't walk away from this class. His material is his own and difficult to read. He expects you to teach yourself his own material. Definitely the worst teacher/professor I've ever had. He has 0 empathy for students and acts like he's a UCLA professor. He definitely thinks he's smarter than you btw. Do not take this class if you like astronomy.
