hilarious guy. IMO he is an easy grader, content-wise. However, if he says to write a 500-word essay, it better be 500 words long, no more, no less. Very strict on length of paper. If you mess it up, he will give u an opportunity to rewrite it. He will also look over the research paper before submission and tell u how to fix it.

Awesome teacher, and very funny. Tells stories about teaching 8th graders. Looks like Steve Carell. Tells you exactly how to write your paper and cite sources. Helps you before it's due and he gives you the opportunity to fix essays to raise your grade. Is a stickler on paper length. A 3-page essay is to be 3 pages exactly--no more, no less.

Very good class. Just do what he says (which is not much) and you will get an A. His class goes by pretty fast, because he always has intereting stories to tell. With minimal effort will receive at least a B.

Professor weiss is just great. every class is like going to a comedy club. but everything he talks about is important. He is not hard but he makes sure all the stuff we learned is real life important. And for a 40 yer old guy hes pretty hansome ;-) he looks like the guy from the office

Don't listen to the person who left the nasty comments. I know who it is, and that "person" was jealous cause wanted to be the class clown and Prof Weiss was 10 times funnier. In fact, that person had something dumb to say every ten minutes and the teacher ranked him every time, but always in a nice way. Besides that, I learned a lot in this class.

I agree with my sister. (previous rater) We took the course together and loved it. I learned more about writing in the first three weeks than I did my entire senior year of high school. He is not easy meaning, he's not a pushover, but he explains stuff so good that you just can't help but learn. Keep up the good work Dr. Weiss! We love ya!

Good teacher. Makes everything clear where expectations are concerned. Grades pretty fairly. Not much interaction, but it was an online class, so I guess that figures. If you do the work, it's an easy A/B class.

He required you attend class and encourages participation. He grade fairly easy and the work isn't hard, but you must do it how he wants it. His class is interesting and keeps you entertained. HE lets you know exactly what he wants and will help you with anything and encourages questions. I would highly recommend anyone take his class.

I love him ! He is great !! His class is so easy and he helps you on whatever you need. He is fun but always is serious about students passing. Best teacher I ever had. He is very understanding and explains things very well. He is very "fair" with grading and he will provide you with help anytime, before or after school. His made us write three essays, each 1-3 pages long. We had to also write a research paper about any poet. If I am you, I will take his class without any hesitations.

Nick Weiss is a especially professor. I'm native language is Spanish and I was very worried to take a upper English class. Nick spend time and time with me on his personel time to make me get good grades. when I messed up he showed me why and I write the paper for a better grade. I am so happy for Nick Weiss being my teacher.

If you are like me, and have been out of school for over 10 years; this is a great professor to have. Nick is a wonderful professor and wants each student to succeed. By far a very entertaining class, and certainly a class to be present for! Keep up with the readings, and assignments and you will do very well in his class.

This teacher is amazing.I went into this literature class thinking, Oh, my God! This is going to be horrible." But, I actually really, truly enjoyed the lively discussions and the interaction with Nick Weiss. He has a way of making boring things interesting. I had to work hard, but it was worth it.

He spends half of the class talking about politics and having class discussions but he also incorporates english into it!If you wanna take him, the hour registration comes up get him, his classes fill up very quickly! I tried to take him for 1302 but couldn't. I highly reccomend him!

You have a journal with 10 entries due at the end of the semester. One midterm super easy he basically gives you the answers. One final dito as midterm. 4 papers; persausive, informative, abridged biography and informative research. All ranging from 3-5 pages. He says to read the books, but I didn't because he goes over it in class anyway.

Great teacher! Very helpful and clear. Tends to ramble and repeat himself sometimes, but I think he just really wants to make things clear to everyone. Very fair grades on papers. I would recommend him, even if you suck at English- he's always happy to help.

This class was so easy it's not even funny. We had to write 3 essays and and 1 research paper. He tells you EXACTLY what he wants/expects so just write the paper how he wants you to and you will get an A. He goes over the final and the mid-term and makes them really easy. He's really funny and if you take this class you have nothing to worry about.

Really cool teacher. I took him for ENGL 1301 and Lit & Film. Lit & Film was seriously one of best classes I've taken. You have to try really hard to fail. Watch movies (good ones),do a fun project, go to the media department and play with the green screen. Really he makes all his classes interesting an enjoyable. He's my favorite professor.

First off, he is hilarious and HOT. He is also a very good English teacher. He is very funny and makes you want to go to class. The assignments are easy and easy tests. Attendance is mandatory but he makes class fun and quick. If you want to take him you need to sign up early because he fills up quick. I would definitely take him again!

Professor Weiss is such a great teacher and soo hilarious he should be a comedian on the weekends. Take notes and the essay's are pretty moderate, but just follow his instructions and you'll pass. As long as you read and understand the material he assigns you'll be fine. His lectures are fun to listen to because he's always joking about something. He's a tough grader when it comes to essays but help is always offered if needed.

I loved this class. He is super funny and does tend to get off topic but his class is fairly easy. If you don't pass, it's your own fault. Our mid term and final was pretty identical to the reviews and he grades them as you turn them in. I received a B+ only because I bombed my 1st essay. The other two were A's. I'd take him again in a heart beat.

I am shocked to see that some students are bothered by open class discussion in this class. After all, are we not in an age when we can have honest respectful discussions that stimulate our desire to write. Or, are we satisfide writing childish politically correct essays about puppies and world peace? Don't be a crybaby if you are made to think.

Took for 2 classes. Still taking second. Amazing person. I had a series of personal issues come up, and Pr. Weiss took time to talk with me and reassure me. And, I am sure I am going to pass. He is compassionate when I needed somebody to talk to. I never had a teacher do that.

He is a great professor, but if you are the type of student that misses class but you still get your work done do not take him! My grade dropped from a b to a c just because of attendance. All my grades were good but he failed me in his participation grade which is worth more than his exams. It makes no sense but he is cool I guess.

Recently took Professor. Weiss and it was one if not the best class I've taken. Great Professor, very funny and respectful, his lecture's are the best and you can see that he truly enjoys what he is doing. I learned a lot in a small amount of time. He gives great feedback, and gives you the grade you deserve on your essays.

Professor Weiss is a great person in general. He is smart and understanding. I took a 16-week online class because his in-class classes filled up fast. I only got a B because I wasn't responsible with checking dates of when assignments were due. If you have something going on, you can go talk with him in person and work things out. I recommend him!

Took for a second class -- technical writing. I took this class during a 5-week summer class. I learned more in these 5weeks than in any full semester class I have taken. Prof Weiss is amazing, I took his ENGL1301 as a 3 week mini it was my first 3 week mini class and it was fast pace but Prof Weiss is super helpful with the papers and hes always there when you need someone to talk too! I plan to take him for 1302! Because hes great!

I took him online for Comp 2 and it was pretty easy. He gives you at least 2 weeks to finish one set of homework, which helps balance other classes. You have to write a total of 4 major essays and have 10 regular assignments. It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. Book is necessary. He is also quick to respond to emails and really nice.

I took his class for comp 1 as a winter mini. I was nervous about it, but he made it very easy for us. We had to do 4 essays, a midterm, and a final. Each essay was 2 -3 pages. He would offer to help us with our papers beforehand. Over all he was very helpful and I'm glad I got comp 1 out of the way in 3 weeks. Great teacher.

He would always give you the benefit of the doubt and only gave assignments that were absolutely necessary. I only wrote 4 papers the entire semester! And he never gives homework!!

A super laid-back, spontaneous teacher. What is done each day in class is really up in the air. If he gets off on a tangent about his life stories or real-world situations, the whole class period might just be a discussion. He is super funny and doesn't require much work. Do your journals and essays and you'll get an A! NO HOMEWORK AND EASY TESTS!

Mr. Weiss was Awesome!! I am not very good at writing essays, but the time of draft I would show him my essay and he would write notes on it very nice about it! I would be nervous to ask but ASK HIM! I would only see a handful of students showing him the draft to read through the others that didn't would complain why there essay got a bad grade.

He would be hilarious in class and tell great stories. His essay's are more free-based rather than locked in compared to most professors. I wouldn't call him amazing, but he's relatively better than others. He takes away lots of points for small mistakes, and can make a 95 essay become a 75 because of small mistakes.

Cool class. Professor spoke his mind a lot. He often told stories about his past and made class pretty entertaining. What I didn't expect was all the presentations we had to do. It was difficult for me because I'm such an introvert, but I managed. I had to work with the same group of people where a lot of laziness was involved. Very frustrating.

Professor Weiss is the the best English professor because he taught us how to write better papers. There were three major papers and 10 modules, plus a "group work" final. He was very accommodating when I turned a module in late and only took off 10 points. I would definitely take him again. He was quick to respond but not quick to grade.

I enjoyed taking Professors Weiss classes both Engl. 1301-1302 he is so funny his class is a discussion class I would take him again. Nice, explains stuff really well, and gives good feedback on essays. You barely have to take notes, but you do need to pay attention. I didn't like him, though. He goes off topic a lot, which I usually don't mind, but he did it to the point where I could've walked away for a while and wouldn't have missed anything. Lots of distasteful jokes

Prof Weiss responds fast to emails and is incredibly helpful. Definitely going to try to take ENGL 1302 with him! Great class!

Finally was able to take his class Summer 2022 online. FOLLOW the instructions on homework and essays and you'll do good. There was 9 Modules ( 1 team assignment) 8 Db's and final. He responds to emails within 24hrs Overall great teacher, great grader.... TAKE HIM!!!! If I passed and I hate writing papers you could pass!!!

Great Professor!!! Very understanding and provided great feedback on the required essays. Always answered all my questions via email and made me feel my efforts were noticed, even though I knew I had lots of errors. He would point them out, make suggestions and provide me with a passing grade so I could avoid the same mistakes on the next essay.

Cannot express how much I enjoyed this class. We had 4 essays, and about 10 class assignments. super easy though. The final exam is the easiest test I have ever taken. Professor Weiss is hilarious and really cares about his students and wants everyone to finish with an A. TAKE HIM!

I suggest arranging your schedule in a way where Professor Weiss is your last class for the day. The reason for this being that he always made my day and he left my school day feeling on a good note. There are three major essays (min 2-3 pages), weekly assigments, and a mandatory textbook. I really recommend taking Professor Weiss! Easy course A+

He was such an amazing professor, he did get off topic on the lecture but would still review on the lecture the following day. He is funny during his lectures & is very understanding!! Easy class 100% recommend.

Professor Weiss' class is very enjoyable. If you're taking this as a summer class I would definitely recommend taking it in person. There are only 5 modules, 2 essays, and many in class assignments. The homework isn't hard it is just very time consuming. He does get off topic a lot but gets to the point. I would take his class again if I needed to

He does get distracted easily, but it honestly won't affect you at all because all his assignments have instructions and are easy to understand. I love his class, 100+/10.
