Great professor, really likes her students, and I'd recommend to anyone

Once in a great while you stumble upon a person you can view as a mentor. Dr. Locascio is just that-to bad all teachers aren't that great and don't care half as much about their students as she does. Educations would mean more and be more sought after.

I LOVE Dr. Locascio!! She is with out a doubt the best professor I have come into contact here at Marshall. She cares, gets you thinking and involved, and really listens and help you as much as possible. I tell everyone to take her!

LoCascio was happy to talk to me about my grades outside of class about it and was very helpful with her advice and recommendations. Tests are difficult (80% notes, 20% book), but she usually curves the class to around 70-75%.

She is really a nice and caring woman. Her accent is so adorable. The tests are on the hard side though. If you're good at science, I'd recommend her.

Professor Locascio is great. She is really friendly and encourages questions. She's very helpful if you have any problems. Her tests a kind of hard, but she usually scales and gives bonus.

Lively lectures. Expectations when it came to tests seemed a tad unrealistic. Too many questions for the given time interval, and I usually felt rushed. Feeling rushed is not a good thing, esp. when tests count as much as they do toward your final grade.

Wonderful professor! You can actually enjoy a powerpoint lecture in her class, but beware the test are extremely hard. Goes out of her way to help you.

Locascio is the close to the best teacher I have ever had. Her tests are extremely hard, but she will help in any way she can. She cares about her students and how they do. She is awesome and very very nice.

I love her accent, it helps me pay attention. The teacher I've ever had. She will go out of her way to help you understand what she teaches. She doesn't get mad for asking "dumb ?'s" Her tests are mostly from powerpoint and lecture so go to class and you will get no lower than a B everytime.

She is a very nice teacher, and she will help any student as best as she can. Her test are quite difficult and some of the questions are tricky. Genetics is a difficult subject and most people hope for a C... Her tests are way to long for a 50 minute class period...

She is so sweet and helpful. She will do everything in her power to help someone. She treats everyone fairly, and takes the time to listen to questions and discuss them. Her tests are tricky. The trick is to not look too deep into them. You must read the chapters. There aren't many on each test.

She is so interesting and considerate to students when they have questions. she never treats you like you are stupid. she also is very open minded to the opinions of others when a question is raised in class. her tests are hard!

The only negative thing I have to say about her is that she is too nice...to allow Harrison to teach with her brought the class down to a lower level than if she would have taught it herself. Is a wonderful teacher and very very helpful when approached. Would take again.

Dr. LoCascio is an awesome professor. Although exam questions are a bit tricky, she tends to mess up a lot and you end up with extra credit. She has very lively lectures. She is a true scientist and wants you to think like one as well. Genetics is not an easy subject, but she tries to lighten the load. She's also very attractive for her age.

I love love love her! The only down side to BSC 120 was her team-taught counterpart, Dr. Harrison. LoCascio's lectures were energetic but Harrison's bored me to tears and were very unorganized.

Dr. Locascio is great. Her lectures are very interesting even though she does get off topic sometimes (which can be a good thing). Her tests are a little difficult but if you've paid attention in lecture and use the review questions in the book you'll be fine. I highly recommend her.

I like her as a person but her class really makes me fall asleep. Everything she lectures about is on Power Point on Web CT, word for word, so I feel like it's more like an online class with an in class lab rather than a normal class. I never show up, and I've gotten straight B+'s!!!

Dr. LoCascio is a wonderful teacher! She keeps lecture entertaining and her notes directly correlate with her exam questions. She puts practice quizzes on WebCT and many of the questions from those are found word-for-word on the exam. As long as you make an effort, you'll pass the class.

Absolutely wonderful! Lectures were clear and entertaining, tests were moderately easy (providing that you paid attention to lecture), and any question asked was answered clearly. Take if at all possible.

this woman is great. if you ever have a chance to take her, DO IT. she is very funny and she starts class with things that are happening in the world....I love it....can't wait to take her for immunology

I wish I had her for 121. I love her because she is nice and easy going. She is understanding about the things that come up that make studing difficult. The tests are difficult but what do you want a free ride or something. TAKE HER - She is great!

I love this teacher. She says the funniest things, and lecture goes by very fast. She's very understanding about anything you ask, and is very knowledgable about current events and biology subjects. She knows HOW to teach and tends to give back points on tests if they were unclear.

Great class, but hard though. Always make sure you read the part in the book that she refers to in class...she hasn't taught this class before so she's a little rough with it...bear with her

She's really interesting to listen to, but make sure you read the chapters. It's important. She said she would only test on what she covered, although I read what she covered and some of the questions weren't from it. Her tests are difficult, mostly because they are on 5 chapters at a time. But there is usually a reasonable curve.

Dr. LoCascio is a joy to take for class. I had no interest in biology before this, and went in with the mindset of "Ew. Only two semesters, thank GOD." However, she has made me so interested in biology I am now a Biochem major, instead of just chemistry. Take her, no matter what - tests are not difficult if you study enough and READ YOUR BOOK!

I loved having Dr. LoCascio. She made this class so interesting. She always started the class with current events, which actually made us want to pay attention. Make sure that you read the book, and take the online practice tests. Those questions show up A LOT of the tests. She's very helpful and very easy to talk to. I recommended her to everyone.

Dr. Locascio is the best teacher I've had so far at Marshall. She will go out of her way to make sure you understand the material. Her classes are fun and enjoyable. Tests are hard if your not prepared. Grading is VERY FAIR! I would recomend her to any and everyone!!

She's so nice and helpful, and she has the coolest accent. She also tells funny stories that relate to biology, which keeps you interested. Her tests were kind of hard, but she grades extremely fair, because if you tell her why you chose an answer and she likes your reasoning, she will give you credit.

She is a pretty good teacher, her true or false questions are really hard, but overall she is pretty easy. She is very helpful if you don't understand something.

Very funny, knowledgable professor. I would not recommend her though. I felt the class was rushed, 3 to 4 chapters a week. I didn't have time to really learn the information. I had a friend in the same class, different teacher, and they were always 7 or 8 chapters behind us. Her tests are very hard!

Take this woman! No official assignments except test. The test are a little on the hard side but manageable. Fall asleep in class and you can still get a B. State awake for an A. Teacher is funny and engages the class very well. Goes off on funny tangents you can keep her on for the whole class (random stuff like squirrels)!

Great Professor I'd recommend her to anybody, she's very funny and you dont even really need to go to class to get an A. Studying the book is a definite must but at least that way you know exactly what you should lear. All her lectures are available on-line which is nice, study the book hard you should do well, all those who dont like her dont work

Some people say that her tests are difficult. I didn't think that they were. However, if you are having trouble, she is very helpful and nice. She also keeps the class entertained by going off on tangents occasionally.

Dr. LoCascio is a great person for sure, and her lectures very entertaining. However, her exams are pretty rough and require you to study the book more than her actual lecture notes. If you study the book, you will be fine. However, don't skip class as she occasionally tests on those random tangents she loves to go on.

Dr. LoCascio is a GREAT prof.! She really loves teaching; I'm so thankful I got her my freshman year when it was her last to teach 120. She's been such a great help, and has advised me more than my academic adviser. If you have a chance to take ANY class taught be this gem, TAKE IT!! Especially worth scheduling for if you need the class anyway!!

Dr. LoCascio is my favorite professor. I've had her for 2 classes so far, and I rearranged my schedule this semester just so I could take her class. She's an excellent lecturer-- the British accent is a major plus-- and the classes are quite interesting. Read the book, and you'll do fine. Good luck on getting into her class- they fill up fast!

Dr. LoCascio is, by far, the best professor at Marshall. I had the privilege of having her for multiple classes, and each class was truly informative and stimulating. She is very knowledgeable in a broad spectrum of studies, not limited to biology. In addition, she cares about students, and does not simply prescribe a generic course of study.

I enjoyed Professor Locascio's class. Her accent makes it that much easier to listen when she talks. Class attendance is not mandatory and she posts all of her lectures online so her material is very accessible! She also really cares about her students and wants us to pass.

She is a great teacher and I really enjoyed in class listening to her accent. However the exams were extremely hard. I had taken two times of BSC 105 already which I had As and Bs on it. I had to drop it because of my own issue not the grade. This makes it more obvious that her exams are more difficult than the other two professors I had.

Awesome instructor! Encouraged me on my way to becoming a biology/science teacher!
