Tortoris' online Sociology 1 class is a very easy, straight forward class. All instructions are given clearly and all assigned readings are posted at the beginning of the term.

I took Tortoris for Soc. 1 online. The class format was very straightforward, easy to understand, and Nicole was helpful with any questions that students had. Personally, I don't think that Sociology is the most interesting subject in general, but if you just read the assigned chapters and do the required coursework on time you will get an A!

This was a great and fairly easy class. There is alot of reading required if you want to pass each chapter test! I took it online so it was'nt that bad. Only a couple of forum questions, and alittle of extra credit! It was fun! I got an B!! Take her online class!!

Took Sociology online with Tortoris. Overall a straightforward and easy class. Do the reading and you will most likely get an A.

This is a tougher class to take online, but Professor Tortoris makes it a lot easier. She is very helpful and will always go the extra mile for her students. I wish more Professors were like her.

Nicole is an excellent professor who wants her students to do their best. She is always there to help her students and makes topics easier for them to understand. She is very nice and posts all the lectures online so we rarely ever needed the book. Attendance is a major part of your grade, so plan on showing up if you want an A

I took the class online. Super straightforward. Pretty much read the chapter and take the test. The test questions came word for word out of the book so read carefully and take notes. All in all I got an A and I didn't feel at all overwhelmed.

This teacher is really cool. I took her online class & it was great! If you don't understand anything you just have to tell her & she will do her best to explain it until you understand. I would love to take her again. Just a few assignments & a test every week straight from the book so read the chapter. She gives extra credit too! Fun class.

Great instructor. Took her online SOC001 class. Read the book, take the tests. She only had two discussion board assignments. Class is very easy if you read the material. Very straightforward.

Easy Class if you read book and her lectures, weekly homework, four midterm exams, and a research paper. Great class, only complain is that she takes about 2-3 days to respond back to an email, which doesn't work out since the assignment was already due.

I took her online class for soc3, and although I was a little intimated by taking a math class online, it worked out alright. You have to be motivated and possibly use outside resources to do well in this class. If math isn't your strongest suit, I would suggest taking this class at the campus. But if you apply yourself, you should be fine.

Read the chapters and you will pass the quizzes. I took this class online. There are 3 writing assignments, posted in DB. No other DB. If you want a stimulating class, this is not it. If you just need to take this for reqs, it is perfect for that.

I took the online class. Weekly assignments are straightforward. Discussion board only a few times. 4 Tests covering 4 chapters. All are easy if you know the material. Little instruction on SPSS, which can trip you up. She is helpful and responds to e-mails promptly.

Proffesor Tortoris is very nice she gives you powerpoints to view while she lectures. Also make sure you read your book it helps. Kepp up with homework it counts. Make sure you Start the Paper as fast as possible its not hard its just knowing how to use SPSS and finding the needed items. Have Fun.

this class was preety easy and straightforward just read the book do the quiz and just 3 post which are fun and interesting to learn about. this class is interesting but not for those who forget to do the hw so be warned keep everything on track or your grade will suffer

I took her online sociology class and it was very very easy. I felt like I learned a lot and it was painless. Basically one chapter from the book a week followed by a ten question quiz. I would definitely take a class with her again.

She made me love math-tough to do. She honestly cares if you succeed. Her class wasn't easy but if you do the work, ask questions, ask for help, she does everything she can to help you understand. She is funny, inspiring, and loves what she does. She is a fabulous, caring teacher.

Easy class. You have one chapter quiz of ten questions every week. There are two research assignments they are not hard at all. there is a final test. there is extra credit available as well. study the lecture notes and you will do fine. Got an A in the class and never struggled.

Very useful class. Great teacher and makes the lectures on understanding social statistics and using reasoning fun and enjoyable! Tests are not that hard. Put a good amount of effort into studying and you have homework every lecture and a decent size essay to contend with but it's super easy!

I took SOC 003 online so I had to figure some stuff out on my own but she provided homework help and feedback. Her expectations and grading are fair. Not once did I feel overwhelmed with the work. She was really good about providing examples and guides, especially for the final paper. I recommend her SOC 003 online class.

Straightforward & straight to the point. 11 quizzes, 3 discussions also easy. If your planning on taking sociology take it online with her. You won't have any difficulty.

Super Easy A. All questions for all quizzes and midterms/final are all Googleable. Doesn't respond to emails.

Super easy course. Weekly quizzes only had 10 questions and all answers were easy to remember or easy to look up in textbook. Would have liked more dialogue and discussion with other students to gain more knowledge.

I took the online Stats class. Dr. Tortoris gives you everything you need to do well (examples, Etc.), if you don't pass, then you really did not try. Some of the subject matter is a little difficult to understand. Good online class

If you follow the instructions set forth and turn in assignments completed and on time, you will receive an A. By far the easiest class I have ever taken. Professor Tortoris is there for you for any questions you may have, but her layout on Blackboard explains everything well.

I've taken 3 or 4 of her classes and her statistics class is better than the others that are offered. You have HW every wk, plus 4 Exams and a Final Paper. If you do your work you'll get an A. She provides step by step instructions on how to things. The book is interesting. You have to buy a data program for the class. Always there to help.

What a sweet woman..!!! she not only is an amazing teacher but she is a loving, funny, compassionate woman. She is ALWAYS helpful, patient, smiley, energetic, creative, etc.. She knows her information so well and she goes over it as many times as needed. She answers to questions and doesn't mind helping students with their homework. Love her!!!!

Very understanding Professor. Even though I have never met her in person, I could tell she cares about her students. I took her Soc 003 class online as well as Stats. Her instructions are very clear & even though there is a lot of work to be done, it is not difficult. She grades very fairly, its just your choice to do the hw or not! Good Luck!

This class is needed to take PSY025, this class was difficult, a lot of information, crazy math problems, but show up everyday and put in the work. The teacher is very helpful if you ask.

Took SOC 001 online. Very easy to maneuver through Blackboard. Assignments are very clear and laid out for you. The textbook was easy to find and inexpensive. Definitely would take another class with Professor Tortoris.

Took the class online. Lectures(powerpoints) were easy to understand and helped a lot with the homework. You have homework every week but not too much. Final paper due at end of semester but you work in it through the semester. Test are easy if you understand the homework.

Great teacher, loves what she teaches, homework goes along with her lectures straight to the point, if you attend her courses, whether online or in person, show up, log in, keep up and you will pass. Do all the homework to the best of your ability, and if you ever have questions don't hesitate to ask her. she will help to the best of her abilities

If you're not confident in math, I don't recommend to take her online class. It's not impossible either but it is challenging figuring out how to solve the problem on your own at home. Overall great instructor!

Being in class makes the difference. The lecture examples are worked out in detail so that you can apply it to your homework. She is always willing to answer questions.

I was really nervous because it was my first online class EVER. she was very clear in was expected from the students. she made it very easy to understand. get ready for lots of reading, but it was very interesting.. I would definitely take her class again.

Online class.-Quite a few discussions and quizzes but doable. Be ready to ready the book because you have to relate your discussions with what you have read in the book. She responds to your email in a timely manner. Very easy to reach. Follow her rubric on how she wants you to do your discussion assignment. WIll take her again for other courses.

Anxious at first taking her online course but ended up that the class was doable. You just have to plan ahead of time as she already has the breakdown of the semester for you. DUe dates for quizzes and discussion are available already. Do your reading, make sure your discussions and quizzes are not late, andyou will pass

This was one of the best online classes I have ever taken! Very clear instructions. Her assignments are doable as long as you read through the instructions and modules syllabus, you should be fine. She is always willing to help if you have any questions and she is very much involved in the class. She gives great feedback. She's just simply awesome!

Best online class Ive taken! You will have about 5 discussion homework due every week 4 exams and 1 research paper. She is very clear in her power points. You will need the SPSS program but I suggest you just go to the tutoring center since they have them there instead of paying for it, for some hw problems you will need the SPSS program

Took intro to soc. online. Quite simple, she even extended due dates as most of the class was apparently not turning anything in. Read the rubrics and it's an easy A.

I was afraid to take this class. I'm not good with math. I have never liked a math class since I was a child. Dr. Tortoris is a true gem. I loved her class. Truly inspiring. Wonderful teacher and very clear in her teaching. I always looked forward to her class. There is nobody better than her for statistics. Love, love, love her.

This professor is very clear on what she expects on all assignments. She provides notes for us to read, and adds videos to the lectures. It is easy to pass the class if you keep up with the assignments.

I took Prof Tortoris Fall '19 right before I transferred out & she was absolutely great. I was fearful of taking this class because I'm lousy at math, but she helps you out very well. I recommend reviewing the lectures before class and also finding good classmates to work with. She has a final paper, but she guides you through it solidly.

Highly recommend taking Dr. Tortoris, she is caring and has very clear grading criteria. The class is not difficult if you keep up with the reading and the assignments. I had Professor Tortoris Spring 2021 and she was awesome. She really enjoys her job which makes being her student enjoyable as well. I was nervous about this course because math is not one of my strengths but she works with you on it. I look forward to taking her again for SOC 1.

She was great, I took this class in summer so it was fast but she is so organized.

This class is not easy, but you can do well, just ask for help or go to her office hours.

There is a reason why waitlist exists everyone wants to take her if you get in great ! She will work with you if you communicate with her either through email or office hours. She has her lectures pre recorded so it allows you to pause go back & fourth. If your having a hard time with the quizzes get a TASC tutor take either Tyler or Stephanie.

I enjoyed professor Tortoris and her class. She allows you to go at your pace and do all the work in advance if possible. While math is not my strong suit and I was very intimidated by this class her lectures explained everything to me that made it make sense and I soon found I was enjoying the work assigned. Do the work and you'll pass the class.

Professor Tortoris gives really good feedback, and her grading criteria is pretty straight forward, involve everything she requires from her grading criteria and you'll get an A. Read the textbook and you will also pass her tests and quizzes. The textbook is also super interesting, I enjoyed reading it.

She is EXCELLENT! Stats is hard to begin with, but she explains it so well. If you attend lectures, pay attention, & participate, it's not that hard. If it was up to me, I'd take her for all my advanced math classes, she's that good!

This was an asynchronous Introduction to Sociology class but I am so glad I took it with Professor Tortoris. She assigned meaningful assignments and discussions that challenged my thoughts and helped me learn a good amount about the subject, especially for a class completely online. I would take any class of hers again. I love her style of teaching

Dr. Tortoris was one of the best professors I've had. She was very helpful. She really cared about her students passing her classes. She was always available to answer questions and would explain anything you would get stuck on. Her lectures were very throughly explained and would give a lot of examples. I would definitely recommend her.

Professor Tortoris is simply fantastic. Her lectures are thorough and engaging, and she's always available to help. Though the material can be challenging, using unstuck ai alongside the textbook makes it manageable. Definitely take this class if you can!
