The material is common sense, and its all lectures pretty much. Midterms are essay format and kind of difficult, she wants you to read way to much of articles that are to difficult to relate back...

The class is based on lectures and readings. If you don't take proper notes and don't do the readings, you won't do so well in the class. The lectures are pretty much common sense, so if you at least just pay attention you'll do alright. Easy A or B if you just take good notes and listen to lectures. Barely any hw.

This class was interesting. The readings are like 600 pages. Each page is like 2 pages out of a small novel. The teacher's midterms consist of memorizing like 50 key terms and only having to define 4 of them. An essay also comes sometimes around in the midterms. There's not that much homework. Like only 4 in the whole semester.

Has it ever occurred to you that it is your heavy reliance on text lingo that is keeping you down academically? All profs demand that their students are literate, which means students need to demonstrate at least a basic command of written English. That means proper grammar and spelling. she is a super nice person, but can be very boring. she allows you to turn in late work. there are 2 midterms, a final, and one 2 minute presentation which is no pressure. the ID questions on her tests are hard and very specific & require you to know every readings' details just in case. i felt the class could've been executed better, though.

Got an A even though i did eh on first test. Didnt particularly like her class, but it was double, she was really nice. Weekly online quizzes on REVEL, helps with tests more than lectures & 5 in class, she tells u exactly what it is about, overall decent class. Not much hw other than quizzes & a few other assignments. Also 4 tests multiple choice.

Favorite professor this past semester. Teaches in a way that makes even the most boring topics interesting. Before quizzes she will go over answers if someone asks for clarification. Tests were very straight-forward and she tells you exactly what will be on the midterms and the final. Very caring towards her students and she's also very funny.

She is okay. She is knowable about the subject and does care about her students. However, she requires mandatory attendance (absences count against your grade) and the homework is taking notes of every assigned chapter. Just seemed more like a 100/200 level class instead of an UD class. Her tests are also based on memorization not understanding.

Dr. Barnes is very knowledgable. However, she makes you do responses for every single chapter assigned which is roughly 60 chapters throughout the semester. She assigns an insane amount of busy work (I've spoken to other profs who have joked about how much busy work she assigns). Tests are difficult because she is so specific about what she wants.
