Super funny and class discussions are interesting. Makes the assignments fun and gives helpful feedback on papers. Go to his office hours to get extra help on papers!
Super funny! He assigns cool readings that I actually liked and uses music and pop culture to explain stuff. His specialty area is hip hop, so that made the poetry unit really fun.
Professor Bajorek is the best professor I've ever had. He was funny, helpful, and made things easy to understand. Always makes himself available to help. He uses interesting essay topics and even uses good movies for reviews. Gives very clear instructions on what is expected in papers. Always grades quickly. Follow his prompts and you'll be fine.
Professor Bajorek is by far my favorite professor of the semester. He's a younger guy, and a hip-hop scholar, so he uses course material that most students can relate to. Despite the fact that he is currently working on his dissertation, he still managed to find time to help any of his students and always answered my emails! I would def recommend!
NIK WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROFESSORS, HE SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AND THEIR GRADES, WE DIDN'T TAKE ANY TESTS, HE WAS PRETTY COOL AND A WANNA BE COMEDIAN, SOME ASSIGNMENTS WERE BASED OFF OF HIP HOP CULTURE WHICH MADE THE COURSE EVEN MORE INTERESTING, I'M TAKING HIM ANOTHER SEMESTER SO HE MUST BE A GOOD PROFESSOR.
Perfect example of what a college student seeks in a professor. Clear instruction that is not hard to follow. Creative topics that incorporate popular music and movies with poetry and drama. Very intelligent professor with great perspective. 9.9 out of 10.
He is an amazing professor! He cares if you pass or not so he tries to help you in any way he can. There are no test but there are 4 few long papers and 10 short journals. The class is basically like a discussion class. He introduces a topic then as a class we talk about it. He has a great sense of humor too! WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!
He is a very likeable guy, very easy to get along with. Gives good feedback on papers, and you can usually expect a good laugh at least once a class.
Professor Bajorek is by far the best English teacher I have ever had. He really took my writing to a whole new level. He taught me more than I thought I would learn and made the class fun. He truly cares about his students and will make an effort to work with you one on one. Fun topics. Absolutely hilarious. HIGHLY recommend taking him.
Nik wants his students to succeed. He has limited office hours, but will proofread any paper you bring him if he has time. While he gives no tests and no final exam, there are several "journals" and about 4 essays throughout the semester. If you write about what he asks you to write, the class should be easy. I'm signed up to take ENC1102 whim!
He is one of the coolest teachers I've ever had and he loves to help out all his students and giving them feedback.
THE BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVER. He is straightforward, tells you what he wants out of you and from then on its just chill out and have a good time. Class is filled with him cracking jokes and everyone just chiming in on the subject. Very passionate about writing, you can really tell by the way he talks that he respects writing very highly.
Professor Bajorek: Witty and exceptionally funny Entertaining, never a dull moment Transparently clear on what he wants/expects Great feedback, good about utilizing class time to clarify things Language is brash to whom it concerns (nobody in my class was offended) 6 absencesfail The work is not difficult, but you must be willing to do it
Nik is the best English teacher/professor I've ever had! There's a ton of homework, reading at least 40 pages for every class and writing two papers for each novel you read, but the novels are interesting, which makes the homework not so bad. He picks relatable topics. He's passionate about English, he's really cool and he's there for you :)
Professor Bajorek is awesome. His class is always entertaining. As long as you put in the work for each essay and bring your rough drafts when told to, you will easily get an A/B in his class. I signed up to take enc1102 with him next semester! I would recommend him to anyone
Overall I loved his class. He twisted the boring usual literature with cool hip-hop, zombies, and war themes, super cool subjects to analyze. The class can be tough at times with all the research you need to do, but pull through and it should be an easy B/A. Also, go see him in his office, he is super nice and super helpful!
Nik is definitely the best English professor at Santa Fe. I took him for both 1101 and 1102 and he is nice, helpful and entertaining! English is not my first language and he was always very patient and comprehensive with all my questions. 100% recommended if you want to learn and have an enjoyable class.
Prof. Bajorek was great in ENC1101! He comes up with extremely interesting topics for us to write about, such as analyzing/critiquing a horror movie or analyzing an episode off of South Park. Drastically different than the stuff you had to write in highschool. He keeps people interested and explains well. Definitely the best English teacher here.
He tells you exactly what he expects out of each essay he assigns and usually goes over the book in class with you. Attendance isn't mandatory but to understand the book you are reading I recommend not missing a day. Amazing in class conversations. If he notices a pattern of mistakes being made on essays he makes sure to address the problem.
Mr. Bajorek is one of the best professors I've had at Santa Fe . Aside from being absolutely hilarious, it's evident he cares about literature and cares about making it a fun and exciting class. No essays and none of the typical tideous work that comes along with usual lit classes. It was an easy, and fun class! I recommend Mr. Bajorek to everyone
The best class i have ever taken because Nik actually cares to teach fun stuff not one second is boring, overall amazing class a must take.
If you have a job or are taking other classes DO NOT take his class the workload is insane. I had one of my other teachers read the prompt/rubric for one of the papers Mr Bajorek had us write and he was in shock it's literally grad school level work.
This was honestly one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
He was so helpful and made the class so much fun, I'm taking another class of his again because I enjoyed him as a teacher. He never shuts down your option and always gives good feedback!
Excellent teacher, would take him again.
Professor Bajorek has such a real personality, he expresses personal experiences throughout the course as well as giving different examples in order to get his thought across. It is important to do the readings because if not the class discussion won't have any substance. Overall he is very attentive towards his students. Highly reccomend
Really good teacher and I would absolutely take him again. I was in his Honors class - he clearly cared about the material and students, makes learning exciting without being boring. Sometimes in-class discussions are a little slow, but the rest of the class makes up for it.
Great teacher
I have had Professor Bajorek for three consecutive semester now. I have taken his LIT1000, ENC1102, and AML2020, and he is a great professor. Honestly if you ever have the chance to take one of his classes, I would recommend it.
Honestly, this guy is great. He was one of my favorite Professors this semester and would definitely take his class again. If he taught another course I needed I would take it in a heart beat. He personalizes his class to fit the group of students and always finds a way to make the topic of discussion relatable. 10/10 would recommend.
He's awesome! He's very funny, and very clear on what to do. While he may grade your papers a little tough, he gives excellent feedback so you can know what to do better next time. He's honestly a great teacher, I wish he taught every subject so I could take him again and again.
Professor Bajorek was one of the best English teachers I've ever had. He makes the material interesting to the students, and creates an open and engaging environment that facilitates fascinating discussions on the course material. 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Bajorek is great. His class was basically just discussing the books that were assigned and writing some papers. He has very clear grading criteria and he will help you with making your drafts look better for your final paper. Really cool guy, would definitely take him again.
Professor Bajorek was my ENC1102 professor for last Fall. I am currently taking his class again in Lit 1000. His lectures were very useful if you are trying to be a good writer and understand how to do it. He will answer all questions. Class discussions are fun and helpful. If your goal is inspiration, then look no further. GREAT TEACHER!
This is a great teacher and fun class. Class is like a discussion based class where you interact with the teacher and students about the material you are reading. Trys not to be boring and finds interesting things to read. Tests are very very easy.
Loved the class itself, but did not like Professor Bajorek. The profane language that he used on a daily basis was annoying and rude to me. Class material was easy, and he is not a harsh grader. Books we read were interesting, but his dirty language was absurd and unnecessary.
Nik was a great professor. He always made the class laugh and the workload was average at most. He graded harsh but fair, which is a good thing in my opinion. I will definitely take a class with him again if I have the opportunity.
As a person, Nik Bajorek is awesome. He's clearly very experienced and never fails to make the class laugh. However, the work load is a bit much. The novels and papers he assigns are very challenging. If you work a lot, I would recommend taking someone else. Overall I would give him a 7.5/10.
Yes he is a tough grader but is very eager to answer your questions, assist you during his office hours, is quick to respond to your emails, and gives cool informative, thought provoking lectures. He also is a cool professor and creates an honest yet very safe and friendly class environment. Professor Nik thanks for an awesome semester.
Nik makes writing easy for those who don't know how to the correct way, and extremely enjoyable for those who do. He can be quite a picky grader on the papers but it's tough not to be when he literally gives you the exact layout for the format for each and every paper. He tries to give enjoyable books to read, and makes class a lot of fun. TAKE
Incredible professor. As someone who is serving in the military while attending college, It is nice to have a teacher who spent 8 years in the Navy, swears left and right, and has a two full sleeves. Tough grader on papers, but if you listen to him, participate in the peer reviews, and try your best, you will get an A or a B no problem.
He is very clear on essay expectations and grading, and lecture is always hilarious. He has a fun was of incorporating the material into funny and relatable subjects. Cusses a lot, but I found it absolutely hilarious. Great class, would take again.
This guy is great has pretty good lectures and is hilarious. He teaches weird topics but is a pretty easy grader s long as you read the two books. I would take his class again in a heart beat.
Awesome professor. He doesnt grade too too hard but he teaches so well that I have learned so much and gained so much experience in this class. We read 4 books and wrote 4 essays. No final. Highly recommend.
WARNING lots of profanity in this class but an awesome class. One of the best professors I've had in my two years at Santa Fe. Attendance is mandatory only because of department rules, other then that, just do your reading and write your papers on time and you'll do fine. He is a fairly easy grader until the last paper then he gets a little picky.
Pretty good class overall, guy was really cool and funny but also extremely smart although he kind of stopped talking as much about the books (because of our lack of participation im sure) but the talks we did have were very informative. Book choices were great, and papers werent too bad which are the only things you really have to turn in.
Great professor! He keeps the class very interesting and incorporates outside sources in discussions. He is very clear with his expectations in the beginning and holds you to them. If you need advice on an essay, he is very accessible and willing to help you.
Bajorek was easily the coolest professor I've ever taken. So down with current events and easy to talk to. Honestly, I'd take him 5 more times if I could. He cares a lot about his students and loves to give feedback.
Professor Bajorek is amazing and hes a fun professor. You can still have fun in the class and still get your work done and learn!
Professor Bajorek was a great professor, very easy going and a funny guy. His class is very simple with no assignments besides your essays. He gives good feedback and bases the essays on interesting fun topics. Definitely recommend this class!
Great professor. Simple and useful lectures.
Easy going guy great class. Just do the reading and you'll be fine
Hes awesome, I really recommend him. He gives you great feedback on your papers & tells you exactly what he is looking for in your essay. This class was stress free & pick him as your professor, you wont regret it.
Nik is probably one of the coolest professors I've ever taken at Santa Fe. I took movies as a narrative because I needed an easy A class. Every week we have a 300 word paper due on Saturday about the movie and 5 discussion questions and a total of 3 large papers of 1200 words. Other than that, the class is pretty simple and chill.
Amaaaazing! Super great professor! He cares a lot about students and he is always willing to help you out. Class got out early all the time and he really sets you up well for his essays. 4 essays last essay is your final. Good class, interesting material, and hes super funny
The best professor Ive had in two years! Its an extremely easy class if you show up and do the work. Hes easy to communicate with, hilarious, and has clear expectations for his students. I recommend him to everyone!
Professor Bajorek is a wonderful professor. He truly cares about his students success and will extend himself to help you succeed. The books he chooses are thought provoking and engaging creating wonderful discussions. There are four essays each based on a novel. He provides a great essay format that will be useful for other classes. Take him!
Professor Bajorek is super awesome. Hes really funny and explains things really well. There is a lot of books to read but they're really interesting and the class overall is fun. We did a lot of class discussions which are really cool and I loved this class.
Prof. Bajorek had a great class. I enjoyed going and participating in the class. We read 4 books and wrote an essay for each, but we got plenty of time to do them. He's a really cool guy, you should take him if you can.
Get ready to read and write papers. It is an interesting class. No tests. Just watch the movies and write about them.
Four big papers are your whole grade, follow the instructions on the rubric and read the books and youll do fine! He grades pretty tough but i ended with an A in the class. The books were cool sci-fi books too, not old boring ones. He curses a lot so if that makes you uncomfortable dont take his class.
The best English class Ive taken. It was a breeze.
One of the best professors if not the best I have ever had!! Super chill however, he does make you read 4 book 3 of them are over 800 pages. You will write a paper based off of each book. He is a very fair grader. If he offers another class I need I will diffidently take him again.
He is one of the best. I enjoyed his class and the topics that he chose.
LOVE him, we watch movies in class and write a 300 word response on the movie due every Saturday or before. He is super funny, have one essay at the end but he is awesome!
Awesome guy, hip hop scholar, biker, knows his lit
One of the best teachers I have ever had. Super fair grader!!! You will have to read 4 books and write a paper on them those are your only grades and no tests!!
Attendance was mandatory but you learn nothing in class. He blabbers about whatever he wants. Was very unclear on how he wanted his papers written. I would not take him again.
Dr. Bajorek is hands-down probably the most hilarious professor Ive ever had at Santa Fe. Its not just his humor that makes him such a likable professor, but he is also very caring and the lectures are always entertaining. There is no final exam, just four essays based on four books of his choice. Take his class if you need ENC1102.
Took LIT1000 with Nik last summer and it was an awesome class. Hes super funny and picks great things to read. He knows his lit! Discussions were entertaining and made class fly by. Only 3 super easy multiple choice tests and a creative project. Easy class and one of the best professors ever!!!
Nik's class was really awesome. He curses quite a bit and never shies away from touchy subjects. This is actually really refreshing. He clearly explains what he wants on essays and encourages meeting outside class. He also had very intriguing discussions about the 4 books we read. Participation isn't required but you'll probably regret not doing so
Dr. Bajorek is the best professor ever, really cool guy with cool tattoos and a great teacher. We read 4 books, discussed them in class and wrote essays about them. Wish I could take this class again !
Professor Bajorek really likes what he teaches. There are 4 books you read throughout the course and then write a paper based on each book, so 4 essays throughout. The essays aren't too bad, and he explains very clearly what he wants in each essay. If you follow the guidelines for the essays and read the books you will pass the class.
Professor Bajoreks class is pretty easygoing. There arent too many grades to keep up with and his lectures are super concise. He does a great job of helping you grow as a writer.
His instructions to essays were clear the only problem was that he wanted them to wrote according to his ideas. Was completely against the idea of providing feedback to essays online. Insisted on only doing so at office hours which not everyone could go to. He was funny but charisma doesn't teach.
Cool teacher. Books were interesting.
ESSAYS SEEM CHALLENGING HOWEVER HE IS ALWAYS OPEN TO HELP AND REALLY CARES FOR HIS STUDENTS; DOES NOT WANT TO FAIL ANYONE; CARES ABOUT STUDENTS; VERY GOOD PERSONALITY; VERY GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR; CLASS IS ALWAYS ENTERTAINING AND FUN
Dr. Bajorek was my favorite professor this semester. His humor made class fun and exciting. The books that are covered aren't too bad and as long as you follow the clearly described guidelines that are given, essays are a breeze. He is also available during office hours to work with you and is very caring/helpful. Good in class discussions.
He is a great professor that you won't regret taking! He is very consistent with expectations for each paper and does not require you to do a lot of work. 100% recommend office hours to get good personal feedback from him and he edits papers in class to show each student how to improve. Talking about the books in class was great for understanding!!
he is such a great teacher. he is understanding and really helps you with what you are struggling with. you have about 4 books to read and 4 essays. and he is really funny and makes the class really enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Best professor I have had since I've been in school. Would recommend too everyone. Good teacher and a nice person. He's dope
Dr. Bajorek is the best. Hes hilarious and you must be mature to stay in his class because he does not hold back on topics. Hes a sweetie and very helpful. Extremely caring, hes not here to ruin your GPA. Work hard and earn your grade!
Dr. Bajorek is the best! Hes hilarious, cares about his students, and provides clear information about how he wants papers to be written. 4 books to read and 4 research papers for the semester. Discussions about the book and research paper requirements in class, so I would definitely recommend going to class! 10/10 would take again.
One of the best professors I have ever had! His personality and teaching style is something to look forward to. Show up to class, read the books, and visit his office hours for feedback for all your essays and you'll do great.
Professor Bajorek is an amazing teacher, who likes to engage and converse about the books that were assigned to be read. The papers he assigns are not hard, and not too many. he is funny and likeable.
Make sure to put time aside to make your three big essays really solid. Lots of variation in the types of movies we watched which was cool.
Professor Bajorek is one of the best professors I've had at Santa Fe. His classroom environment is really relaxed, and the classes feel more like a equal discussion on the texts rather than a professor mindlessly lecturing their opinion. I had him for African American lit and even though it was a lit class, he incorporated music and movies in class
Nik is a great professor. I've taken him for ENC1102 and AML2600 in which he was consistently a great guy in both classes. His lecture style, personality, grading criteria, etc. are all blunt and engaging. He doesn't give any busy work and the work is straight forward. 3 essays, no final. I would recommend him and any of his classes to anyone.
Bajorek has a great sense of humor and cares about his teaching. The grades are based on 4 essays and drafts. As long as you follow the instructions and don't give bad writing, it is easy to get an A. He will not hesitate to help if you go to his office hours as well. I can recommend this professor with no doubt whatsoever.
Its an enc1102 class so of course get ready to read. Good professor, intimidating at first but ones getting use to super chill and awesome professor.
Dr Bajorek makes his class really fun and interesting. He's really funny and gives us popular books to read and write about, unlike other professors who give boring assignments. It's also easy to get an A in the essays if you just follow his instructions (which are very clear). There's 4 essays, and drafts are an automatic 100 if you submit them.
Dr. Bajorik is a smart individual, but he has a specific personality. If you do not have a solid back bone do not take this class. Those stories of professors not caring about their language and saying their own political opinions and disregarding yours- this is the guy. If you get past him projecting his life regrets, he prepares you academically.
Super enjoyed Dr. B! Took his course over Zoom, classes were engaging/funny. He can relate to millennials/gen z. I actually learned a lot; I'm def a better writer. We read 3 books (Handmaid's Tale, Fahrenheit 451, etc.), plus a lot on JSTOR. GREAT, but TOUGH GRADER: Class avg. for papers was 60% (my avg. 78%), tho full disclosure this was Summer B.
amazing professor really cares about class convo, so please be interactive in class. GET off YOUR PHONE, it bothers him. read before class and ask deep questions about the book. you'll do great.
Funny in class but his average grade on papers are a 60-65%, and each are 25% of your grade.
Lecture attendance is required but not particularly helpful. Your entire grade rests upon three big papers. Little flexibility with those deadlines. The class requires about a dozen novels, three of which the papers are about (one each). All of them are covered, and *fast* - up to two hundred pages a week.
Clearly passionate about the stuff he talks about and really makes you want to discuss about aspects of the films shown in class. Grading mainly consists of 3 big essays throughout the semester and participation. Essays seem a bit long at first but easy to write when its about stuff you actually are interested in. I'd recommend the class to anybody
I always thought of myself as a gifted writer and Dr. Bajorek definitely put that to test. He may come off as mean or intimidating at first, but behind that beard is a genuine and understanding guy who is easy to earn the respect of if you engage and follow criteria. Though he's a hard greater, he is thorough and will make you a better writer.
He curses A LOT (but I personally didn't mind, actually thought it was funny)! He's a VERY tough grader & super specific, so be precise, neat & organized. He may seem very serious, but loves when everyone engages during class conversations. Showing up to class is a MUST. He also responds fast and has open availability all the time outside class.
This class it wasn't a lot of work, but not much work means you have to do well on the homework assigned. This class was the doorway for me getting into film and I absolutely loved it, but we had three assignments all semester and I made 87's on all of them. He doesn't give good feedback either so it's hard to improve your writing.
I expected African American Lit, got film studies instead. HALF the class was driving to campus only to sit and watch movies. When he did talk about books, the lectures were dull and uninspired. Your entire grade is based on 3 papers and he doesn't even write feedback on them. If you're not a naturally gifted writer, don't take this class.
Took the class in person during the pandemic. wearing masks impacts discussions so Dr. Bajorek used films connected to the books we were reading. Hes VERY specific about the 3 papers, but gives very clear prompts of how they should be done. He gives feedback on drafts and returned papers. Discussion was fun when people would talk.
A really cool teacher, fun class as long as you participate. Theres a lot of reading and all of the assignments are essays, if you know what you're doing then they're fairly easy. I'd definitely recommend taking his class.
Dr. Bajorek is super fun and helpful teacher. I took him for my honors class and definitely loved the way he taught the class. He is super real with his students and tries to help you succeed in any way that he can. Theres definitely a lot of reading and writing so if you don't like that it'll probably be best to pick a different teacher.
After being out of school for some time, I've taken Dr. Bajorek's ENC 1102 over spring B and I will tell you this: even though the class was 8 weeks long and we only met twice a week, he made sure every assignment he gave us had clear instructions and plenty of time to complete with direct access to him if we needed.
I liked this class, the books that we read were interesting. There are 4 books you read the entire semester. 3 essays and an annotated bibliography. He has a specific structure that he teaches that you have to follow when writing essays. Participate in his class because he likes that. He might seem scary to talk to, but hes a nice guy.
Dr. Bajorek is very knowledgeable & passionate about this course. The reading material and the movies are totally relatable. I would recommend this class a million times over . Everyone should definitely take this course.
When i first came into this class i was very skeptical about a white professor teaching black literature. But Professor Bajorek gave a really insightful class. He is very specific about his grading, but the books he assigns are really good. This class is worth going to everyday. in my situation this semester was hard but he worked with me
Tough grader but not unfair, good class and good discussions on reading materials. Professor Bajorek is also very good at teaching research essay basics.
Highly recommend Dr. Bajorek! He's very insightful and has great choices in films. Whoever wrote the review about him not giving feedback on papers is completely untrue! He gave me TONS of feedback and helped me get my C up to an A by the end of the semester. Great class!
Professor Bajorek is an amazing professor. He engages the class in the books that we read and gives real-life examples. He is very easy to talk to and gives really good feedback on essays. You don't need to read all the books but should have a general idea of what the book is about. The essays aren't bad, just read the summaries and you'll be good.
Dr. Bajorek is such a great professor he makes sure that you understand the material and he does his best to break it down in a way that we can get. He also makes class fun with lively discussion.
Dr. Bajorek is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had in my life. He made lectures about the book very engaging and interesting and gives great feedback on how to improve your papers. There were 4 books to read and 4 papers to write which was a lot of work but manageable if you manage your time well. I definitely recommend taking him.
Dr. Bajorek is a really great choice for entry level writing. Four books are assigned with an essay for each of them. He loves when you participate and he really enjoys what he teaches. If you're a good writer and can manage your time well this class won't be a problem for you at all.
Professor Bajorek is the best English teacher I have ever had. All the topics we wrote about are things that people are very interested in; mental health, toxic masculinity, and once he allowed us to each pick our open. He is very open-minded and cares about his students. Definitely recommend taking him.
The materials chosen for the class/lectures was not exactly friendly to right leaning or religious students, and he cussed a lot in class-which made me uncomfortable. Therefore, he may not be the guy for you if you care about these things. Although, Dr.B is more than happy to give extra help on the essays, if you need it, which helped a ton.
he's super nice and he replies to emails very fast. the second I sent an email, ten minutes later he responds. He is willing to help you with the essays and will give you his best advice. I liked his class
Professor Bajorek is well educated in his fields of study and really knows how to use topics in the book to relate to things in real life. There are not many assignments in the class, therefore the assignments are worth a lot. Very open-minded and understanding when you talk to him. Cusses A LOT, but not in a disrespectful manner. My fav professor!
One of my favorite classes I've taken in my A.A. degree. Super laid back, great reading materials, and it wasn't a problem that I curse like a sailor (one of the best parts about this class). Three intros/thesis, 3 drafts, and 3 papers, that's it. Actually left the class knowing how to write a paper too.
Had to write an essay on the argument presented by an episode of South Park...
This prof didn’t make us use the book but it was a summer class. Very easy as long as you read the papers carefully before you write the essays.
Came into ENC1101 as a decent high school writer. I was dependent on this class to teach me how to write great college papers. While we did write a bunch, it felt like I was thrown into the fire. No instruction, just write. He is laid back, but kind of short. I personally would not recommend him to anyone.
By far the best teacher I have ever had. You have four papers to write the entire semester and they are based off of four books you are supposed to read, fourth essay is your final. He is an excellent teacher, really cares about his students. I have never had a better teacher then him I 100% would take him over anyone else.
amazing teacher that actually showed he cared about his students.
The class basically depends on 4 papers and if they are not written the way he wants it then you will receive a low grade every time. He is not very helpful when it comes to emailing him and just makes the class harder than it should be.
Dr. Bajorek is a fantastic professor. He is very passionate about this subject and it definitely shows. Dr. B puts a lot of effort into keeping the lectures fun, and I genuinely looked forward to his class. I also enjoyed every book we were assigned. If you're on the fence between taking this class or English Lit, I cant recommend this one enough.
Dr. Bajorek is absolutely amazing. There are a lot of books to read and essays, but he will walk you through them and help you whenever you need. He answers questions and emails thoroughly and will do what it takes to help you succeed. If you have the option to take him, do it, you won't regret it!
Nik was an amazing professor! You won't regret it
Dr. Bajorek is one of the best English professors I have ever had, and he is straight to the point when he lectures in the classroom. He literally gives you an outline for his essay, and you just have to pay attention when he is discussing, and you definitely pass his class.
Bajorek is the coolest professor. He chooses interesting books to read and write about so you are not bored, and discussing the topics with the class was always interesting. He is very reasonable when it comes to grading and will help you as much as possible.
Dr. Bajorek is one of the best and most honest professors I've had. I've taken his ENC1102 and AML2600 courses and thoroughly enjoyed both. He is very upfront and engaging in his teaching style so get ready to have discussions over the material. I highly recommend his courses and you will absolutely leave knowing how to write an analysis paper.
Dr. Bajorek is a solid professor and will give you very explicit instructions for each of the four required papers. Follow criteria closely and you should be fine. You cannot miss more than 6 lectures, but he often does not take attendance at all. If you are sensitive to gore I would not recommend his horror section.
Doctor Bajorek is an instructed individual who states his rules and grades since the beginning of the semester. His lectures are really funny and he is a down to Earth guy. Make sure you pay attention to his criteria for all of the essays because if you miss a step he will take points off.
Bajorek is by far the best teacher I've had in Santa Fe. Very smart and knowledgeable. Will help you improve your writing in papers by giving you caring feedback. Is very funny and truly cares for his students. Attend class because if not you will be lost. He gives many extra credit opportunities throughout the course. Take him as he is truly great
Wow, best professor I have had so far. Very respected, funny and simple if you follow his instructions. I took the horror class and was not a fan of it at first, but soon fell in love with breaking apart the movie and looking at each film like art. Very simple and straight forward syllabus. Show up to class watch movies, 4 essays.
The professor clearly outlines what the class will entail, and as long as you do the minimal amount of work that he hands out, then the class will be a breeze. We watched some really great films and I learned a lot about what goes in to making them. A surprisingly great resource for film students that isn't recommended by the college.
Dr Bajorek is a really good professor. He has experience and you can tell in class. There is no tests, just papers in which you have to read books to based your papers on. If you like to read you would really enjoy this class. I did learn a lot and I liked the class because it is very dynamic. Highly recommended.
Im super sad this is my last course with Bajorek! Wonderful professor, he really knows his stuff, and is glad to provide any feedback/info you need. Class is mandatory. 4-5 essays (5-7pgs) on any movie you watch in class. Just show up, do the work, watch the movies, and youve got yourself an easy grade.
Take this class! Dr. Bajorek is amazing and your essays will dramatically improve. Great discussion will make you want to show up for class. I can not recommend this course enough best I have taken at Santa Fe.
Chill professor and actually helps you learn how to write
I took movies as narrative, and the class is so fun! If you are considering this course definitely choose the horror track. Professor Bajorek is so knowledgeable and passionate about what he is teaching, it makes the class enjoyable. In movies as narrative, final grade is determined by only 4 essays, so make sure to make everyone of them count.
Dr. Bajorek might seem intimidating at first, but he's actually a very chill and laid-back guy. Everything is presented clearly, so there's no chance of being surprised by something. I walked into that class with no confidence in my writing, but I genuinely feel that I have improved. Not an easy professor, but a good one if you want to learn.
I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Bajorek is hilarious, smart, and a very nice guy. I enjoyed every book assigned to us in his class. I wish this guy all the best! Thanks for a great semester!
He's genuinely the best professor I've ever had. He makes it clear what he wants on the essays, and the readings are interesting. He engages in interesting class discussion and he's funny.
Great easy class, recommended for movies and narrative class.
Bajorek was the most formal college course I have had so far, through his course I learned so much about writing research papers, and it has helped me with other writing courses I've taken. U will need to truly apply yourself in the course because he is a tough grader, but if you do take him you will learn a lot. No hw but 3 essays based on novels.
I've learned a lot about how to write, the only thing I didnt like about this class is that when you give the assignments he doesn't give any feedback on it in Canvas, and then you have to go to his office hours.
Dr. Bajorek taught me a lot about how to write more expertly during the semester. He gives out a decent amount of homework, all paragraphs or essays. If you don't like horror movies, I wouldn't recommend taking his class. He's super passionate about these, and most assignments will have to do with horror. Participate & take notes in class!!!
interesting class , dr bajorek is passionate about his work and has a specific format to follow when it comes to papers . easy A if you follow the rubric /format and do the reading
Pros: Knowledgeable, interesting subject matter, clear grading criteria, essay format provided, funny Cons: This class is not for students who aren't self-starters or who don't learn well by teaching themselves. Rare extra credit opportunities. Difficult for shy students. If you struggle with writing, you NEED to go to office hours to pass.
Bajorek is highly entertaining, and his classes are mostly just thought-provoking discussions. Mostly, it's up to you to make sure you have a grasp on your deadlines for all three major papers. This is a good introduction to upper-level literature classes since he is very clear about what he expects from you and your writing.
Does not respond to emails. In class feedback is one note and/or unhelpful. His in class rubric is not specific and his feedback is even less so. Very few assignments with high weights
Dr Bajorek was really nice and a pretty good professor but his class was way too hard for enc1102. His papers were very hyper-specific and had to he set up his made up way, which was complicated and difficult to understand
While Dr. Bajorek may be funny, his ENC1102 class is way too complex. There are four major essays about 6 pages each. That might not sound too bad, but you're required to complete them under a short amount of time and have several sources ready as well. Not only that, but he hardly responds to emails, and when he does, they aren't very helpful.
Terrible at explaining, every response to any email makes no sense. Gave me and my classmates and assignment that opened at 9pm and wanted us to work on it overnight basically and it was due at 9 am( Long Assignemt too).
He's a good professor and provided very clear feedback!
Dr. Bajoreks online 1101 is so easy! Just follow the modules, read the assignments and follow directions. He gives good feedback on your papers really quick! Things are due super fast but thats bc its a short summer class. Every time I messaged him he got right back to me. He gives good topics to write about that aren't boring.
I took Dr. Bajorek's movie as narrative semester A class. We watched movies in class, then talked and wrote about them. I learned a lot about films from this class. Lots of writing assignments but if you try your best, you will be fine. Dr. Bajorek is super passionate about films! He is also caring and lenient toward students.
He makes you to write essays in a weird specific way and will literally just not grade your paper if its not done in that way, which he barely describes. He constantly talks about "micro/macro" and, even when i asked, literally just did not explain it. He's also SUPER pretentious. Lectures are open discussions, and essay deadlines are quick.
Amazing class, I learned a lot. The structure of the papers you have to write is very strict and organized so if you want to have a lot of creative liberty this isn't the place. very MLA, grammar/spelling focused, great class and great professor tho, he knows his stuff and is a very cool guy, just a little strict on paper, chill and funny guy
My favorite English teacher at Santa Fe! Dr. Bajorek class is honestly hard not to pass. As long as you pay attention and ask for help if you are confused during class lectures he will help you and explain it further with no problem. I would 100% take him again. He does have a specific way he wants his essays written, but it's to help better you.
Really great professor! Take his class if you are interested in learning new ways to write essays. This class will prepare you to transfer to a university.
If you like movies and appreciate hearing from people who are passionate about movies as well, Dr. Bajorek is the professor for you. He creates a welcoming environment where, even if you don't want to speak up, you feel involved. Reached out about a grade issue and saved my grade because he does care about your success. I definitely recommend
Dr. Bajorek was very passionate and thorough with AA Lit, we had 3 600 word essays and 3 1500 word essays, plus an extra credit project. A tough grader but he's straight forward about what he expects and dedicated class time to showing you how to structure. I found his selection of books interesting and worth the read. Overall a solid professor.
I enjoyed taking African American Literature and I believe it was not only because of the workload, but the teacher himself and his expertise in the subject. I would definitely recommend to any student who is interested in taking a course at Santa Fe College in general.
Dr. Bajorek is a really good professor. In terms of his class(1102) it is very simple and very straight forward. You have 4 mini research essay with sources and readings with each one, he is very specific in terms of what he is looking for. He gives A LOT of examples to help you follow instructions. Some assignment you have to be present in class.
Dr. Bajorek focuses in his way of grading. You don't have to buy a book, he posts every story or book that you have to read online which is good because you save money. He gives countless examples to follow for better understanding. To receive credit on some peer reviews you have to be present in class. He is a cool guy over all. Just follow format
The class is great, he's an amazing teacher (def will take again when I can). If you don't like having 'difficult' conversations about politics or controversial topics, pick a different teacher. Fun teacher who made a 9am class enjoyable and funny. - clear outlines, if you follow them you will get an A on the essays.
Great guy. Good at grading work is light. Just follow instructions
I loved this class! It was a total of 4 papers with credit given for rough drafts and peer reviews. The content that we covered included some heavier topics, but I really enjoyed the deep class discussions which helped generate content/ideas for my papers. As long as you follow his writing guidelines, you should do really well in this class.
Very manageable workload. Did not provided any contrary opinions for argumentative essays, and we were not allowed to use outside sources, which was slightly frustrating. Replied extremely quickly to all questions. Quite blunt, but I honestly don't think he means to be rude. He was very patient with my multitude of technical difficulties.
He does not make instructions clear and is very harsh and rude with his feedback, whether you have a question or on assignments. I was confused this whole class and would not suggest taking him.
His online ENC1101 is set up so all you have to do is follow the modules. They are set up by week with clear instructions. The assignments are very specific but follow directions and you'll be ok. He gives quick feedback on everything. Follow it to improve your grade. Super easy class.
Dr. Bajorek is super passionate and grades hard. No exams or quizzes, just essays that count for everything. You'll improve if you try. Don't use AI — he hates it. Take this if you're ready to work, not if you're looking for an easy A.
He's funny and ive learned the most in his class than i have an any english class ever. his lectures are informative and worth listening to. i attend his class pretty much for fun even if i dont have to.
Absolutely love teachers who make their classes fun and entertaining. Dr. Bajorek does a great job teaching and providing us with direct feedback. Above all he's incredibly cool and kind, and is genuinely super funny. Definitely would recommended.
Dr. Bajorek's the GOAT. This class is a super fun way to fulfill your Humanities credit. There is a paper due weekly for the movies watched in class, but as long as you follow the structure given in the rubric it's pretty easy. I learned a lot about movies and film production in this class!
Professor Bajorek is a great teacher you can tell he loves what he does and he does it with a passion with that said this course is not an easy A you will need to pay attention read a few novels and write A LOT, He definitely isn't the easiest grader but he gives great feedback and will look at you're paper with you before due dates.
Good class. He's very active on his email, and gives good feedback.
Dr. Bajorek is a pretty cool guy who is passionate about creating better writers, his class is very structurally laid out. This class might be awkward/boring for you if you aren't willing to participate in in-class conversations. All essays that are required have a corresponding rubric that makes it very easy to write. I think it was a great class!
I genuinely loved this class & found attending not hard at all. His choices for books were well-thought out and interesting to discuss. There was never a dull moment. He's easily approachable, hilarious, & knowledgeable - I couldn't have asked for a better class.
The class curriculum was good and the books were engaging, he is just a tough grader. The amount of information and guidelines he gives is a lot and can be difficult to navigate and if you don't follow everything perfectly, you will get points off. Overall a good class and if you love English, this is the professor to take!
