I dropped her class before it was over. i could tell she was going to expect too much from me and it was a summer class. obviously based on the other comments i was smart. i still have the book (unused) if someone wants to buy it.

she doesnt know how to teach. and she ask way to much of her class and shes a witch about everything. and i suggest nobody takes her class ever. and maybe she'll get fired

I am currently enrolled in comm 1110 and trying to decide whether to drop it or not... she is awful!

She expects way too much of her students and doesn't explain anything helpfully. She gives you a huge workload which includes for every speech you are to do: three topics including a summarizing paragraph, outline and works cited page for EACH ONE that you are to turn in so she can decide which one SHE wants you to do. DO NOT TAKE HER

Dr. Harris expects so much out of her students, which is fine, but at the same time she gives little to no direction then gets angry when her students don't understand. If she'd actually teach and direct, she might have more students who learn.

Do not take this teacher. She has you doing research for your speeches and is very unclear about what is wants and expects. you also must buy a book in order to have the online component for the class; however, the only thing you use it for is the discussion questions and that's it. There are no test's but you are required to give five speeches.

Dr. Harris is the first professor to ever make me feel less of a person. She will humiliate you in the cruelest ways in class. She is clear in what she expects out of you, until she gets it and it's actually not what she wanted at all. If you do take her class, don't ever tell her she's wrong or made a mistake, her big head can't take it.

Although I envy Dr. Harris' vast knowledge, it is apparent that she has not applied such to reality. She is very unclear, haughty, and when confronted about her discrepancies, she holds you in "contempt." She is extremely negative and has the Napoleon complex. She leaves a lot to be desired for those who are honestly trying to better themselves.

Don't do it...don't even think of taking her class. Even with a 14 page tutorial, and a test you still won't know what she wants. She'll change the rules, tell you it's approved then you'll find a big fat Zero there for the grade. I HAD a 4.0 average before taking this class.

Dr. Harris is the rudest, most unhelpful, and least encouraging teacher I have ever met. She makes you feel stupid when you answer questions. She doesn't make her expecetations clear and then marks you off when you had no idea what she wanted in the first place. She's not just a bad professor, she is a horrible person.

She can't teach and she has a bad attitude!

I had never taken a communication class that I just dreaded going to prior to this class. Dr. Harris is not very personal, not clear, flat out rude at times, and just plain moody. I read the comments on here prior to taking her class, but decided what the heck, she can't be that bad! Man was I wrong!

Her syllabus alone took me like an hour to decode...so confusing! when she speaks in class she is inconsistent with what is in her syllabus which she makes you LIVE by. which doesnt help make things easier! She isn't easily approachable, helpful or encouraging at all.

This professor does not need to be aprofessor for this class. Her main fault is she doesn't know how to teach. To get any feedback on my speeches I had to ask her about when we were going to get anything back. this class I thought was suppose to help become a better speaker not set you back.

WARNING DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER! took her class becuz i couldnt find n e thing else to fill up my schedule, it was 50% online and i thought i could try and handle it! KEYWORD TRY! as u may have heard she is a very SNOOTY teacher. she is not helpful at all, she is rude, intimidating, unclear of wha she wants, and grades CRAZY!

A summer course isn't meant to be easy but it isn't meant to ruin you either. Harris took what should have been a fun, informative class and made it hell. She actually lost a large portion of my work and didn't even bother to inform me. Her behavior and general style actually led to my class filing a formal complaint against her. Stay away!!!

Taking her for the online inter-ethnic comm.. bad choice. If you don't agree with what she says, you get a bad grade. The grading rubric is crap because all she is doing is giving you bad grades for how your OPINION is wrong. Do not take her

Very disappointed. This professor cuts down students publicly, degrades their work for wrong opinions, nitpicky concerning details, unclear in class and unavailable for outside questioning. Makes unreasonable demands, has no standard grading system. Plays favorites. You would be best to avoid this professor.

I don't think I have ever had this bad of a teacher. She is very rude and inconsiderate. I made a mistake by taking her class. I love english and public speaking, but not after this class. Do yourself a favor and do not put yourself in my position.

So im not the kind of person to give up. despite all the comments on this professor, i thought i would take a stand and make it through the class without droping... RUN AWAY IF YOU STILL CAN! Her way of teaching is belittling and insulting, and i could have saved my GPA if i took another class with a diffrent teacher.

Did we sit in the same class? I took Inter-Ethnic Comm with this professor and there was nothing inter-ethnic about it. It was entirely about being a Black man in White America. In the book and the class exactly one hour was used to discuss other ethnicities outside of Black. There was more diversity in the faculty then in the course.

She is not clear with what she wants out of a speech or a proposal. Her grading and expectations are impossible to reach, good luck making an A. She has a huge attitude and doesn't mind making her students wait on her to be prepared for class. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!!

terrible teacher and the work is really hard.

This woman should not be a professor. She does not teach in class, yet she grades extremely hard. I am an honors student who has experience with public speaking and I still can't stand her class and don't think it's possible to get an A. She says "ok" after every sentence but still takes off points when students use fillers.

Honestly, the worst teacher I have ever had. I do not recommend her to anyone.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. I did well in the class I think by pure luck, but she is rude, unclear, always late and does not seem to understand that she cannot teach. SHE IS HORRIBLE.

She gave me a C in the class when I had all my papers graded with nothing less than a 88 on any of my speeches and assignments. I had to print out nasty emails she sent to me when I asked her to PLEASE review my grade. After showing these to the dept. dean I was awarded a B but I know it was more so to just shut me up because I deserved an A.

She was great for communications, however she gave out a lot of assignments and the instructions weren't clear on some of them. She is tough in grading, but she does give good feedback and is helpful!

This is by far the WORST professor I have ever had. She is extremely condescending, her instructions are not clear and she gets very testy when asked questions about them, she is not helpful in her critiques, and she even modified the syllabus half way through the course without telling us. I have not gained anything from her class. DO NOT TAKE!!!
