Pretty easy class. He goes over what will be on the test before you take it. Extremely hard to understand because of his accent. The only time you really need to go to this class is during the review before the test and the test day. Simple, not stressful class.
Super easy class because he just reads off the test during the Review Day. That is the only day you need to attend. There are 2 outside of class reports that i got 100s on. Pretty sure he just sees that you did it. Easy fine arts credit
I found the test slightly hard but I didn't go to class except for the review days which are really the only days you need to go. Pretty easy class.
Do NOT take him!!! Accent is horrible (I am not the type to complain about accents) On review day he tells you everything you need to know, but its hard to understand anything he says. He is unorganized also, for group projects he changed his mind 4 times and made my group redo it multiple times just because he changed his mind.
He is very helpful if you ask questions. He does have a strong accent but if you attend class you will be able to understand what he is saying. If you do not attend class, you will do just fine if you make it to reviews. Easy A if you work the review.
Take him, go to reviews, do your papers and you will get an A.
He is the best. For once there is someone in the music classes that is worldly and knows what he is talking about. If you pay attention and come to class, you will do well. He is responsive and very nice if you talk to him. Aside from the fact that his knowledge is so extensive! He really strived to bring different things to this class
Radan is a good guy & a good teacher; however, if you are taking this as a blow off class (as most of you are), I would not recommend it. He changed the way he did tests this year, and they are incredibly challenging for those who have no music background. 20 listening on each exam! I will get an A, but it was not an easy A by any means.
Radan is a very laid back professor. There are also LOTS of extra-credit points available. Tests are audio and multiple choice. I mainly came here to say I NEVER USED the book. Nothing negative about that, just even though the book is required, I am yet to take the shrink wrap off the brand new book.
THIS IS A HARD CLASS!!! I took it for a basic fine art credit and they have recently completely changed the curriculum. Attendance is MANDATORY! And you also have to pay attention through nearly 2 hours of boredom because there are quizzes at the end of every class that count for nearly a test grade points-wise. There are audio portions on thetest
Radan was an excellent music lecture professor. Don't buy the book! If you take notes and study the study guides he sends out, the class will be easy! Also be sure to listen to the music samples for tests! He does give tough quizzes at the end of class that you must do but he gives extra credit assignments! I'd take him again!
Bombed the first test, second test was easy, and now will take the third test next week. Came here to tell you DO NOT get the book but go to class for clicker points at the end of class (you can do other classwork if need be). I have a 96 in class and I have no background knowledge in music.
Helpful very much
As long as you go to class and the review then you'll easily get an A. You have to go to class because he gives quizzes at the end of the lecture, it can get pretty boring so be prepared to entertain yourself.
If you go to lectures, this class is pretty easy. You won't need the book and his powerpoints are pretty straightforward. I would suggest bringing something to entertain yourself if you get bored. This class will be a piece of cake for anyone who has learned to play a musical instrument or had any previous knowledge of music theory.
This class is not difficult as long as you show up for the quizzes at the end of lecture and review days. Bring stuff to do during lecture & don't buy the textbook! He gives lots of extra credit opportunities, and the tests aren't too bad if you go to the review lecture (he even goes over the audio section).
For Music Literature, Radan is a great teacher. Sometimes its boring sitting through class but he's a good teacher. Show up to class, go to the review days before tests, and study what he gives you and you'll pass.
Great guy and super easy class. As long as you go to class, you will get an A. The test are pretty straight forward and he gives a great review the class before the test. Clicker quizzes are taken each class but are pretty easy and can really boost your grade. Great class, take it for sure!!
Professor Radan has points available for credit if you go to class, toward the end of the semester those points turn into extra credit. Was 2.5 points away from an A and emailed him and he gave me 3. Also understanding if sick! DO NOT BUY THE LISTENING MUSIC.
The class is somewhat boring, but you get bonus points for going. These bonus points can really boost your grade too. Also, his tests are mostly over the powerpoints.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY MUSIC BACKGROUND DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!!!! I have talked to many people with different professors and they do not do anything similar in their class. This is a tough class with a lot of work, but don't buy the book! You will have clicker quizzes during class, and they are tough. I had a C before the first test. YAY!
I slept every day in this class, there was no motivation to stay awake.
TAKE RADAN IF YOU CAN! Although lectures can be long, he will do whatever he can to help his students succeed. I went to see him in his office hours to discuss what i could do better on my next paper & we ended up talking about the first test , went thru the ones i missed & he gave me 10 points back towards my grade. Nicest guy ever. Truly cares
There really is no reason why you can't make an A in this class. There are so many opportunities for extra credit & the material is easy as heck. Haven't studied for any of the tests & gotten A's on all of them. Just show up & pay half attention half of the time & you should be fine. The classes are boring, but what can you do
Mr. Radan was very nice and really cares about the grades his students receive. It's an easy A if you go to class and the review sessions are just like the tests! There are a lot of extra credit opportunities also.
It might just be impossible to fail this class. Honestly, just go to class (he offers probably 20% in extra credit) and study the listening and i don't see how you could do poorly.
I don't see how anyone who takes this class could possibly fail. Must go to class because clicker questions at the end of class are for a grade. However, the last month and a half the clicker questions are for extra credit. I made over a 100 at the end of the semester. His reviews are basically the test. Would definitely recommend if you want an A.
Easy Fine Arts credit. He gives clicker quizzes at the end of the lectures but they're easy if you're paying attention, at the end of the semester he starts counting them as bonus points instead of "grades". I ended up with a 117% in the class. I'd definitely recommend this class.
Easiest class I've taken. I think Radan wants to teach kids more than he wants to grade us, which is great for you. If you show up to class you get attendance points, of which 30 points count to your grade, after those 30 its all extra credit. I barely went to class but you can probably get 30 extra points from that at least.
Easiest class in my life. Tests are pretty much from review session and his clicker quiz is so easy if you pay attention or have some knowledge about music. Clicker quiz point will be extra credit if you exceed 30. There will be couple papers.
An easy A if you never be absent and you'll pass it. Never forget your clicker.
Super easy class. Tests are right off of the review sessions and clicker points turn into bonus points halfway through the semester. Radan is also very willing to work with you. I was sick on the day a paper was due and he gave me two days to turn it in to his office. He has a thick accent, however he openly stated he will repeat something if asked
He was very emphatic about each subject and included lots of videos to help you understand what he was teaching and keep your interest. He gives you every opportunity to improve your grade. He takes attendance through daily quizzes so not going will affect your grade. Also he really doesn't appreciate tardiness so don't be late.
He's a really nice teacher and makes the course interesting. You do need to show up for clicker quizzes, but they're always super easy. Took the intersession course and it was great.
Really nice guy. I took music appreciation only because I had to, but the class was really easy. Radan is super helpful. If you go to his office hours, he will give you all the answers. Go to class!!
Attendance for this class is not mandatory, however if you do go to class he does a quiz at the end and the points from the quizzes add up to give you bonus points at the end of the semester. So basically if you go to class and bear through the lectures you will easially make an A in the course. He also is not a difficult grader on papers.
I truly enjoyed taking MLIT this past semester. He is always there to help you during his office hours. He gives clicker quizzes every class period, and at the end of the semester, they become quizzes for bonus points. Lectures are long, but doable. I would take this class again. He is a great professor to have for and MLIT credit. No need for book
The class requires a clicker that you use for a quiz at the end of almost every class. Two papers and another optional one for extra credit. One is a song analysis and the other two are concert reports. Interesting class. Just be sure to show up.
Radan is a good teacher and is very proud of music and what he does. He doesnt speak the best english, but if you show up and take the quizzes, and study the pp's and the audios he puts on blackboard, easy A. clicker quiz every day. Class is worth like 200 points, and i got over 30 extra credit in just clicker point alone. Take him!
Attendance isn't mandatory but the end of class quizzes are really helpful for your grade and they are a lot of the same questions as the test. His reviews are also really helpful. Do all the extra credit so you won't have to take the optional final.
He knows his stuff and knows how to communicate it well. Show up and you'll pass. You've got to listen and take notes and listen hard because he has an accent so he can be hard to follow at times.
Show up, take notes/pay attention, and you'll pass with an A. He gives two writing assignments (about 2 pages long) and one essay opportunity for extra credit as well as make up clicker points. A lot of the tests are him playing songs he played in class that's why it's so beneficial to go to class. Definitely still review the songs before the tests
I thought music lecture was a fairly easy class. If you show up to lecture and pay some attention, you should be able to pass. He gives several extra credit opportunities, and the class before a test, he goes over everything that will be on the test.
He plays flute and he's chill. I ate wings in class everyday. I took the final two days early and aced it. It's super chill and an easy A.
Extremely easy class. Almost no homework. Don't worry about this class.
He is a really good teacher and the class is not hard if you actually go to lecture. I had to take this course and I know nothing about music and I left with an A. You get clicker points for going to class and you don't have to read. No midterm and final is Optional. easy a
Dr. Radan genuinely cares about his students, and is very generous with extra credit. He cares a lot about music, and is eager to share his knowledge with others. The final is optional, and the test questions are almost identical to the review. Great professor, easy A.
Go to class. Test are easy. Get the clicker points to make it easier on yourself. I recommend signing up with friends because it is too boring to go alone. Great guy and take him.
The pop quizzes can carry you through the semester it is so easy if you have a music background definitely take with a friend to make his lectures less boring.
This class is simple. There are 3 tests and the final is optional. Once you get 60 points from the clickers, the rest are extra credit. The tests are kind of hard because there's a listening section and multiple choice section, however there are many opportunities for extra credit. Professor Radan is also available for help when you need it.
One of the easiest classes I have taken. Professor Radan gives so many extra credit opportunities that it is hard to make a bad grade. Easy A.
This is the easiest class I have taken in college. You can average a C on the tests and get an A with all of the extra credit. You are assigned 2 essays based on concerts you need to attend. I didn't even go to the concerts and still got an A on both papers.
I love this man! He was knowledgable but did not make the class unnecessarily hard. He puts the powerpoint on Blackboard and if you show up for the tests you're good. It is an easy class but get there early because he will stop teaching and watch you until you sit down if you are late.
His test are hard but it doesn't matter because he gives so much extra credit. If you show up to class and take noted for his pop quizzes you'll do fine. I ended up with a 120% in his class. Lectures get a little boring. Don't show up late or talk during class! He will stop class and call you out and not be nice about it!! Other than that he's kind
His music lecture class is overall easy. As long as you show up to class and take the easy clicker quizzes you will probably get an A. I would for sure take this class again.
Professor Radan is a really interesting and funny guy. He cares a lot about his students and wants to see them do well. Attendance is mandatory for the first couple of months for school, but then after a certain point he changes attendance to extra credit. He is a good professor and provides a lot of extra credit opportunities.
If you show up to class and do the clicker quizzes at the end you will pass. They are all extra credit. He wants everyone to do well. You have one concert report (but he will post a you tube video so you do not have to go, you can watch it at home) & you have one analysis paper (you chose your own song and it is fun) I highly recommend him.
So, I got a B in this class. Don't do what I did. I skipped class a lot. If you show up to every class (easier said than done, he's an extremely boring professor), do all of your assignments including the extra credit paper, and listen to at least 50% of the lectures, you should have an extremely easy A. Worth taking for your fine arts credit.
I took his class over the summer and got an A. The class is very lecture heavy and a bit boring, but the clicker quizzes help out a lot if your grade is slacking and his test are easy if you just look over the power points. I also loved the way he said "quiz" hahaha he's a great teacher and I highly recommend taking his music lecture class!
Mr. Radan is a true artist. The lectures are well-rehearsed and presented in an artistic manner. I genuinely enjoyed going to his class. If you have a background in music, you will not have any trouble getting well above 100% in his class, as there is TONS of extra credit. Put in a little effort, and you will genuinely enjoy this course!
Mr .Radan is a lifesaver. He truly cares about his students and their success. He is so kind and the class is not impossible. I am a business student and I received an A in the class. He is very flexible and works hard to meet the needs of his students. If you are struggling in his class definitely email him or go to his office hours, he will help!
My Favorite teacher!! His class was really easy. Got an A and all i did was show up to class (every time!!; didn't pay that much attention) for the clicker question and turned in my work in time. His test are not that hard i just studied the day/night before
Professor Radan Is a really kind guy! Come meet him after class because he's really pleasant to talk to. His tests are completely over things you do in class, so take good notes. He was gone for two weeks at the beginning so he posted online homework then. There are a few extra credit opportunities, and I highly recommend you do them just in case.
Professor Radan gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. There are clicker quizzes at the end of each class and after 30 points all of the rest are extra credit. I think I got like 30 extra credit points. The class is only out of 200 points so you have to do good on test. The final is optional. Pretty easy.
I didnt get above a 80% on one test and got an A. Professor Radan is one of the best and easiest teachers at UARK. Wouldnt even take music lit at UARK unless it was with Radan honestly. Hes the goat
When first enrolling at UARK, they made it seem like taking theatre appreciation was a must. I did some research though and ended up taking Experiencing Music with Dr. Radan. He is the nicest, most understanding teacher. Extra credit points galore. I have well over a 100 in the class and I've skipped a handful of times. 10/10 recommend.
Nikola is such a gem! He gives tons of extra credit to the point where it's impossible to not get an A. His final is optional, and their are a few papers, but nothing past 5 pages! Definitely recommend!
Professor Radan is one of the best professors and teachers throughout all of schooling. He makes his lectures fun and makes you want to go to class. Professor Radan is very understanding and does his best to make sure his students succeed. He is very easy to approach and a great teacher.
Professor Radan is the absolute best. His lectures are awesome, and I actually learned tons of stuff this semester. His class is not hard, and he is such a nice guy. Would highly recommend!
cool accent, easy A
If you are taking MLIT, take Radan for sure. His lectures are extremely boring, but it's almost impossible to not get an A in this class. If you go to the majority of his classes, you get an insane amount of extra credit points, and he offers so much more extra credit. Just go to class, do your work on time, and you will get an A.
I took professor Radan's class over the summer session, and I always looked forward to it. He's helpful, entertaining, and experienced. Part of the reason I enjoyed this class is because a large part of it was just about listening to great music, but don't let the downplay the fact that Nikola Radan is great at his job
Radan is the best. If you go to his class you get extra credit just by being there, which is super helpful. He's a pretty easy grader, and is a super nice guy. He's also pretty funny in his lectures. If you need an elective that's going to help your GPA, take this one, you won't regret it!
I practically didnt show up to this class and still made a high A. Turn in the couple of papers and attend a few classes. The only beneficial class to attend are the test review days. He offers extra credit and a chance to drop a test with an optional final if you still somehow dont have an A. Hes got a cool accent.
Professor Radan was such an easy professor! I finished with over a 100% in the course that's how easy it was. All you do is just show up and you get bonus points every time. I highly recommend him!
He is a great professor and is really passionate about what he teaches. The audio part on tests can be hard but he also gives lots of extra credit!! He also posts all his PowerPoints online so you wont be behind if you miss class.
Super sweet man. Took the class during summer intersession online because of Covid. Lots of extra credit and if you did the assignments you got a 100 on them. Test questions are clearly from lectures and powerpoints. The audio questions (1/3 of tests) are difficult but he helps a lot during review sessions. Very knowledgeable and kind man.
All of his material comes from his lectures. Extra credit comes into play with attendance points if you get the clicker questions (from lectures) correct. Audio questions on tests are hard but do not miss the review session right before test and you should be fine. Really loved Professor Radan!
Professor Radan is an angel. He is very passionate about music and his students. He just plays instruments with his cats during his lectures. His tests are open note and super easy. As long as you attend his lectures and pay attention, you will receive an easy A.
Great professor. He makes the class very easy. His class should not be a problem, as long as you show up to lectures and take notes.
Nikola Radan is a sweet man who has a deep interest and is knowledgeable about the topic that he teaches. The class itself is kinda boring but pretty easy to pass. I would take him again.
Radan is great. As long as you show up to lectures (which have a quiz at the end), you'll get an A. Lots of opportunity for bonus points. Super funny guy who has a passion for music and an easy class.
if you listen and take notes you will do well.
Nikola is the most down to earth man! He really cars are his students and does his best to help you succeed. The class is interesting even for those who arent interested in music. Easy class & would definitely take him again!
NIKOLA RADAN IS HILARIOUS!! He's also such a great professor and is very passionate about his lectures- they're actually really fun and engaging! This class is definitely an easier one, but you do need to show up to class because he takes attendance for points.
Professor Radan is an easy-going professor and the class isnt hard. Show up to the lectures and take notes, and youll do fine on the exams. However, the two papers in the class are worth a lot of points and I got a B on both papers... which I worked really hard on and I thought were well written. Because of this, I barely got an A in the class.
I took his class intersession. Radan is super nice and funny and the class is super easy. I'm docking a point because he was generally kind of unorganized. He failed to upload all but 2 recorded lectures, he didn't upload the study guide promised by the syllabus on time, and he didn't upload grades when he said he would. I still recommend him tho
I took this class freshmen year and would highly rate the class and professor for a fine arts credit. Professor Radan is great and he makes the course work both enjoyable and understandable. The end of class quizzes are straight forwards if you takes notes in class. The few tests and papers are manageable with proper time management.
Professor Radan knows a lot about music technology, composition, elements of music, etc. This course, Music Technology, was a challenge, but professor Radan helped me grow and gives 1-on-1 feedback throughout the process of the composition project.
Radan is a great choice for an easy fine arts credit. he gives out lots of bonus opportunities and his lectures are enjoyable. Attendance matters because there are clickers every class. very easy assignments and tests, not textbook required.
Professor Radan gives you so many extra credit opportunities to raise your grade if you're unhappy with it and you can tell that he really cares for his students. This was such a fun class and I wish I could take it again!
He's a really sweet professor and seems very passionate about what he teaches, the course just didn't interest me too much. I figured it would be an easy A for my fine arts credit and slowly just stopped caring about the class. It does take some effort especially for the listing portion of the exams, and there are clicker questions.
Lectures are fun and quizzes happen every class so be on zoom or in person ready with notes at the end of class. test are super easy if you study chapter material
If you have to take a fine arts class and want an easy class I would take this class with Professor Radan. The tests are easy and he gives a lot of extra credit as well. You do have clicker questions every class. He does have a strong accent and can be hard to understand at times. I would definitely recommend this professor and class though.
Can be moody at times, but tests are incredibly easy and lots of opportunities for points. Sometimes takes a while to get grades for papers back. Clicker questions every class, but if you pay attention they are incredibly easy. Taking notes is recommended.
We stan Nikola Radan. He is an icon.
Dr. Radan is so funny and respectable. He is very understanding and makes the class easy. If you ever have an issue just go up and talk to him after class. He looks scary sometimes but hes a genuine nice guy. I'll miss you Radan
He's an okay professor, but is moody and can be curt and brusque towards students in front of other students. There's many frustrations and problems that come with an online class, and these problems could have been handled in a better manner. He has a respectable passion for what hes teaching.
Professor Radan offers many extra credit opportunities for this class. He also teaches through lectures and uses points for attendance. Go to class and you will pass and do well.
All tests were online and could be taken from home. There were only 2 real assignments which weren't that difficult. You do have to come to class to get attendance points, but he gives opportunity for bonus towards the end of the semester. It's all lectures and can be really boring but it's very easy to do well in this class.
I took Experiencing Music with Radan, and I really enjoyed it! He's pretty funny and makes class interesting. He does a PointSolutions quiz after each class, but he offers so many extra credit points so it's not a big deal if you miss class and/or the quizzes.
I thought his class was really boring tbh, but Professor Radan has the MOST accidental comedy of anybody I know. The class was really super easy. I did think the exams were abnormally hard, but I got a's on all of them. Attendance is "mandatory", but I think he gave me a total of 20% extra credit so it didn't matter at all. Finished with a 105%.
an excellent professor who really cared about his students. Although I thought the class and information itself was boring. Attendance is not technically mandatory but beware of random clicker quizzes he does some days and if you miss class you get a zero on them. The tests were pretty hard but quizzes and extra credit helped me get an A.
Class wasn't technically attendance mandatory, but he gives clicker questions almost everyday where you lose points if you don't go.
Really easy class, I honestly just went and sat for the clicker points to get extra credit to cushion my grade once I received max points. Few essays but nothing too hard to learn. I ended up with over a 100 in the class.
He is an amazing professor and really cares about what he is teaching. In my opinion, the class was really boring. If you want an easy A this is a good one to take, just make sure you go to every class because he had clicker quizzes every day (only like 4-6 questions).
IMO very boring class. Can be hard with the listening portion of tests especially if you don't know anything about music. Has short clicker quizzes every class but eventually they turn into extra credit. Two major writing assignments, song analysis and a concert report (1000 words) but nothing awful.
His lectures are boring but sometimes he can be funny so that helps. The class itself is pretty easy. There are clicker quizzes each class for attendance so going to class is important. The tests are easy except for the listening portion; they were really hard for me because I don't know anything about music. Easy fine art credit
Attendance technically isn't mandatory, but there is a quiz every class. He gives a lot of extra credit.
Very easy class. All you have to do is show up and take the quizzes at the end of class. They don't seem like they're worth any points but they add up. I didn't show up a lot and regretted it when all the 0's got entered in the gradebook. Just show up to class and use quizlets and shazam on the exams and you're passing easily.
His class is not the most interesting thing ever, but he is a very great teacher who is passionate about what he teaches. You get 2-4 points everyday for the attendance quizzes, but I missed many and still ended up with an A. He prepares you very well for the exams, but if you don't do well he gives out so many extra credit opportunities.
Mr. Radan is an amazing professor. Class is very laid back and can be monotonous but you can EASILY get an A in this class.
Just show up to class and you will easily pass. Points given for attendance through a clicker. Three tests that were all open resource. Two papers that you could get an A on without really knowing anything. Optional final. For about the last month of class, all attendance points were bonus. Didn't really learn anything, but got an A with no stress.
Good lecturer, easy class. Just some online tests, cIickers, and two short essays. After a certain point the clicker points are just bonus too.
This class is pretty easy once you get the hang of things. There are several quizzes every class so you do have to attend every lecture. Homework is easy, just one discussion post a week. Tests can be challenging because of audio questions. LOTS of extra credit towards the end of the semester. Ended with a 100+.
Attendance counts but lots of extra credit opportunities at the end of the semester.
Easiest fine arts credit you can take at the university. The three exams are all given online, on your own time, without a lockdown browser. Only assignments throughout the semester are weekly discussion posts and 400 and 1000 word writing assignments due near the end of the semester. Attendance becomes bonus pts after Fall break.
Nikola Radan is an amazing professor who is knowledgeable and passionate about music. He knows all there is to know about everything he teaches and is easy to understand, even though he has a slight accent. He is very kind and caring. Super easy class. Take tests on your own time. I had no trouble making good grades on his tests.
Professor Radan is a goat. Attendance is only important for the first half of the semester then it becomes extra credit. Tests are open notes, lectures are interesting if you pay attention. Very easy class if needed for a credit.
Nikola was such an awesome teacher. Go to class for the first part of the semester since he does point solution quizzes for grades, but after so long into the semester he makes them extra credit. There is weekly discussions that are easy. Tests are very easy.
Professor Radan is such an interesting and laid back guy who you can tell really cares about and enjoys the topics he teaches, and his experiencing music class was genuinely a highlight of my day. Tests are a breeze if you take decent notes. Go to class and you'll get a high A.
He's a typical teacher that just reads off slides, but really understanding. I was not doing too hot because I never went to class so I asked him for extra credit and my grade went from a D to a B+. He's really nice but the lectures are boring.
Lectures can be boring, but the tests are easy, and so is the homework. GO TO CLASS!! Participation is a big part of his grading material, you also have to get the questions correct for credit.
He's a great professor. Don't skip; there are mini quizzes (3-4 questions) that you complete as a class, and you need a code to access them. His exams are open-note and pretty easy if you attend class. There are 2 essays, but they're not bad. He gives a list of what he expects; it's really just answering it and putting it together. easy class.
good professor overall, hes nice and a good teacher only note is make sure you go to class, as he does mini quizzes each class that largely add up for your grade, so if you skip a lot it will have impact. tests are easy and open note and only two essays both of which were not bad a graded easy.
You have daily in class quizzes that are used through a code, so just get a friend to send you the code if you don't want to go to class. Tests are take home and non proctored. Professor is a funny guy so take this class for a super easy fine arts credit
Easiest fine arts credit at the university. There are mini clicker questions every day, but after fall break the clicker points turn into extra credit. The tests are an easy A.
Its a pretty easy class and he makes it pretty easy to get an A. I would show up to lectures to get attendence credit, then bonus points after fall break. I forgot to do a couple assignments, which is why I needed the bonus. Honestly, pretty lenient grading, you should be able to get an A. I definitely think you should take this prof.
