Attendance is mandatory or you get points taken off, but other than that I found the class pretty easy. Do the study guides and you're good to go.

Professor Varela was very helpful. Her tests are very straight forward. She doesn't give you a test to try to trick you. As long as you understand how you got that answer you will pass. Her lectures tend to be very long and boring as she reads off a piece of paper. I didn't find the power points very useful. Overall, not a bad class to take!

Professor Valera is very helpful. She does not give you the answer to the exam, but she explains and gives you a clear idea of where you can find the answer. She cares about you learning the content of the class. The class lectures are too long, but she helps you getting extra credit. Attendance is important.

Professor Varela is helpful and very dedicated in her class. You always could ask any question during a lecture if something may confuse you. It also clear criteria for grade and clear strategy for getting a good grade: 60-80 questions of study guides for your test preparation. I would highly recommend to read a book, it's really helpful tool.

Honestly I was nervous to take the class, she made it easier to enjoy. Her lectures are long but also I took an 8 week course, she moves fast but doesn't really have an option. I had this amazing professor for ECO211 and absolutely I'm gonna have her for ECO212. Only four easy assignments and four easy multiple choices tests. She gives a study guide consested of 80 multiple choices questions in advance of each test. She picks 25 questions from the study guides for the tests. I strongly recommend pro. Nilka for ECO211.

Professor Varela is very dedicated to her students. She gives 3 online homework and 3 tests. For the tests she gives out study guide and you have to READ the textbook to find the answers. She's prompt to return your email. I got an A. Take her!

Prof. Varela is great but you do need to work for the A. she gives you the study guide before the test its your job to answer it and study it, if you do that you will have at least a B on your exam.

She's so kind and caring .Her study guide is 100 questions she picks 25 questions from the test and the other 2 are written which she gives you those to ! So if you study you'll pass easily ! Her test questions come straight from the study guides she gives you. If you study the study guides you should pass no problem. Her lectures are really long, but she usually lets you out an hour or two early. She only gives a small amount of homework and they don't take longer than 10 minutes to complete.

I had Dr. Varela for the fall 2016 semester (8 week)- She makes it really easy to pass the class. You will definitely need the textbook to pass, the exams aren't that hard just study beforehand and if you need to turn in something late she's pretty flexible.

Professor Varela is a great professor. Definitely knows the subject she goes over. She sets a discussion board for exam questions a few days before the exam. I will definitely recommend this professor to anyone taking economics course. I took her for Macroeconomics and will be taking her for Microeconomics as well.

Lectures are soooo boring but if you want an easy A she's good! Memorize the test study guides and dont buy the text book- you dont need it for an easy A. If you want to really understand the material maybe find another professor. Extra credit is very very very good! 10 points can take you from an 80 to a 90 in the overall grade.

Great easy teacher. She gives us a study guide with a 100 questions only 30 questions will be on the test word to word mixed up. She offers Extra credit in class and on the test also. I got a B it was my fault, i failed the first test because i didn't study, and got A's on the two other test. Take her you will pass everyone passed in my class.

Ms.V Is the best. Show up to class take notes. She gives her study guide 1 week before the test, Start studying it the same day and pass the tests. There are 3 test in this class. I got 2 B's on the test and 1 A. With the SUPER EASY 4 HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ! and EXTRA CREDIT ! I ended up with a 97% in her class i wish i can take her for all classes.

One of the best professors at NOVA. It wasn't too hard or too easy. In her class, it all depends on your own effort. You study ahead of time and pay attention in class then you'll end up with an A. If not then your grade will either be a B or C. I even saw many failing the class because they started studying the last day thinking it's easy material

Dr. Varela is one of the most amazing lecturers I have ever had. she gives out study guides before exams - there are no answers to the study guides but all of the test questions are on them. Since test grades take up 75% of the overall course grade, if you do well on exams and finish all the homework assignments, then it is an easy A and you learn!

There are 4 homework assignments which are really easy, and there are total 3 exams including the final. 5 study guides and 3 short-answer questions for each test given one week in advance.

Nilka is awesome! Just finished taking honors microecon with her. Very easy class as she provides you with study guides for each test, and picks questions directly from the study guide. Gives extra credit worth up to 7% (If you finish the course with an 83, you could be bumped up to a 90). An A is very east to get! Lectures were heavy however.

Prof went above and beyond for us, I definitely got to see that more when we started taking classes online due to the pandemic. Exams are 30mcq from study guides. She doesn't post their answers but opens a class discussion before each exam on canvas for students to ask questions, which encourages team work! If no one answers she will, with detail!!

This course is an easy A as she posts study guides with almost all the questions before the test and quizzes. Personally, her lectures and teaching style did not teach me at all. Thankfully I took econ in HS and already knew the material, but if you genuinely want to learn econ, I don't particularly recommend. A bit subjective tho.

The professor is a tough grader on your written exam questions. She really gets boring when she lectures. Her class was easy to pass when she posts questions and answers for us to memorize, that's how I was able to pass the class.

Professor claims with short answer questions on the exams that she doesn't just want you to memorize and repeat back the answers in the study guide, but writing anything other than what is in the study guide will get you no credit for the answer, which accounts for 10% of the exam grade.
