1/2 the class dropped. She does not cover all the chapters but the student is expected to know everything in the text. There are 2 quizzes, a midterm and a final, 3 papers, and inclass writing assignments. She takes off 1/8 of a point for each grammar and
This Prof. does not know the material. The class should be independent study. You come away with nothing. Perhaps she is different in other courses but she is terrible in this course.

She is a great professor and expects a lot from her students. You will have to work hard. She gives plenty of opportunities to get a good grade. A lot of focus on vocabulary and grammer whihc will help for GREs and grad school.
Prof. Santiago's class was a lot of fun for me. I think the material was somewhat easy, but the in class discussions were great, and sometimes funny. She's not a bad singer either.

shes a very hard professor & fails a lot of people...Don't help them personally..no time etc.
SHe SUXS HALf more then half the clas dropped her grading system is horrible you will fail and you'll hate the entire semister DOnt take any of her class she thinks this is a laws school not an undergrauate school if u want low grades definelty take it
Horrible. The worst professor in the United States. Enough Said!
Take her classes if you want to be mentally challenged. Extremely hard tests, insane point system.
She is the worst!!! Take her class if you do want to fail.
I dont know what you people mean when you say she doesnt know the material - she is a judge, for God's sake. She is very hard but if you try equally as hard as she teaches you will get alot from this class. Very engaging, great teacher.

I don't mind a having a hard class but I do mind it when the professor has absolutely no office hours and she does have any time for her students.I also don't mind a professor with strict rules but I do mind it when her strict rules don't apply to everyon

Very nice, but HARD. I GOT AN A, but i worked hard 4 for it. If you want to actually learn something, take her class. You'll remember it forever. Shes sweet and understanding, but dont expect to breeze through her class. Take notes and read, youll be fine
thisis probably the worst prof i had ever taken, it was as if she didn't want you to get a good grade in her class. She gave an hour lecture on her rules and regulations when she handed out the syllabus. Only if you want to lower your GPA should you take her class. SHE IS A WITCH.
I think she is an excellent teacher. She's got a tough grading system but if you keep up with the work (there's a lot), you'll be fine. There's no way you'll ever forget the material. Make sure you don't miss any classes, her lectures help you tremendously.
Any bad comments made about the prof should be erased. She has been one of if not the best teacher I have had at JJ. Yes, she goes a little overboard w/ the briefs, but it is ALL well worth it in the end. If i could I would take all my law classes with her. Dont pass her up!!!!!
She is one of the best teachers in this school and in the Law department. She is very thorough and knows exactly what she is teaching through and through. There is no other professor at jjc that is outstanding like her. Big up 2 Prof. Santiago!!!
The best professor I have ever had. This is the second class I've had with her, and I am taking her again next semester. She is really one of the nicest people I have ever met. She keeps her classroom professional and one of the few professors I truly respect on a personal level
if you want to fail take her class
At first I thought she was going to be hard, but after I started to engage her in class, I got really into it. She makes learning this boring legal stuff fun in her own ways. Though when I suggested she read "America: The Book" by John Stewart, she kinda scoffed at me. I think she needs a bf.
She does not have office hours and she does not make herself accessible to her students. Her tests does not coincide with what she teaches in her class and the tests have nothing to do with the course. Her strict rules do not apply to everyone A students will pass,B and below students will fail!
She speaks about being professional, however she will belittle and demean students. I find this apalling. She treats students as if they were in law school. If we wanted to be taught like we were in law school we would apply. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! (unless you want mental abuse)
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. I learned SOOOOO much. And I hate to read. But she made you want to learn. If you want to learn about LAW PLEASE take any of her classes. At first she may seem a bit rough but later on you WONT want to miss ANY of her classes. There are 3 people in my class that have taken her repeatedly and I think I will become one of those!
This lady shld be instructing boot camp not a college class room. This woman ls out of her mind. Her rules have to be illegal and should be rprtd. She tells students they can not go to the bthrm and to hold it. She tries to intimidate you by stares and rolling her eyes.I prsnlly think she needs some loving in her life. This lady needs to be reported
If what the last poster wrote REALLY MATTERED her classes would not book as fast as they do. If you are mature and really want to learn you must take her class. You will kick yourself in the head if you don't. : )
I was surprised at some strict rules in her class but I realized that she was the one of awesome professors who made me strained at JJ. I wish I could follow her way more. (Don't take her class if u are an overseas student.Unfortunately,I'm not satisfied with my grade) however; i still respect her way of teaching. If u wanna challenge yourself,GL!
For those of you who want to go to law school this is the professor you want! She teaches great and you learn a lot from her class. If you can't handle her class you will not handle law school. She is the best!!!!
she tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A. honestly, if you can't get at least a B+ in this class than you obviously did not pay attention and really have no right to complain. honestly, this was the best professor i've ever had. her classes were very well structured.
She is a very good professor. I took her class twice and I learned a lot. If you want to learn and go to law school she is the prof for you. I wish she was teaching more classes.
She is an exellent prof. She gives alot of work (briefs) but it is well worth it. You actually walk out of the class learning something. I def recommend her - just expect to do work and to do it right!!!
i had prof. santiago for criminal law, constitutional law, and law and evidence. she really is the best prof. i've ever had, and her class is extremely well structured. if you don't do well in this class it is your own fault 100%. she sets you up for success from day one, by telling you exactly what you need to do to get an A. do your work, participate, and STUDY for her exams and you'll do well.
i hate her she doesnt teach the chapters at all she just goes over the cases then feels she needs to give us a vocabulary lesson she went to harvard so she has this well im so smart attitude i mean if u do the work u will pass but shes just a pain in the ass nd i hate her
Strict rules and she did not like to answer anyones questions. No one i took that class with got an and i think there were 2 Bs in a class of 40. Smart lady she just cant teach well and has a severe attitude problem.
Mean lady! On tests, when it's fill in the blanks she wants a specific word! Tests -> very difficult. U have to remember like 30 court cases and then do like 20 court briefs, of which she collects like 6 and doesnt tell u which she'll collect. Work your a** of for nothing. U better have a law dictionary in her class. No A's in her class!
A great proffesor, sounds a little harsh at first but has a tremendous amount of knowlege and is really good in transfering that knowlege to students. Class is not easy but it's woth it,she gives a lot of briefs to write but they help. you have to really study to get through this class but you'll learn a lot.I WOULD HAVE ONE OF HER CLASSES AGAIN!!
she is awful ...please dont take her if u want to maintain your gpa and your sanity!
The first time I had her I did not so well but i decided to take her again and this time i passed her class with an A. She is the best prof in the field.
She is a great professor the best at John Jay, I loved her class. At first when you get there you find out she's really strict and request total respect from her students and gives total respect to her students. When you leave her class you have learned so much and You don't mind being in her class, you find yourself working even harder thannormal
Worst professor, so much work, very nasty women, and not helpful! fire her, fire her, fire her!
Whoever wrote those nice ratings are insane! I do not mind alot of work (thats how you learn. This women wants blood, sweat, tears and then some. She is a slave driver! She treats adults as children and makes you feel stupid. This is not a nice professor, she is very cruel!
Hey its a great class if you want to go back to your Highschool times. Shes a pretty nasty woman, this is not he class for you if have children cause u cant leave the class for ANY reason. Shes not helpful in any aspect. If you care bout your GPA then i highly suggest you DO NOT take this prof.
Not a penny wasted in her class. She would speak till the last second, but she teaches very well, like a professional professor. I am so glad John Jay has such a highly knowledged professor. There is a lot of work, but everything will be fine as long as you follow her direction. Definitely challenge yourself and take her class!
take her if u want to your GPA to go down! she gives tons of briefs to do but collects only one! besides her exams are so hard. oh one more thing, her grading system is horrible. it will piss u off!!
she is the WoRST!!! Take her And u will cry as you watch your gpa plummet. Even when you work hard her grading system guarantees low grades. I dont know why she is still in jjay.
She's picky with everything. Makes you do up to 9 briefs and only collects one. Takes points off for mispelling on exams and quizzes even if you got the question correct.Gives you vocab. that will be on the quizz the same day as the quiz, so you learn about them the same day. Drowns you with vocab. Now you Decide
wrong wrong WRONG! THIS PROFESSOR WILL MAKE ANYONE WANT TO DROP AND THIS IS A HONOR STUDENT SPEAKING. SHE WILL MAKE YOUR GPA GO DOWN FASTER THAN EVER IMAGINABLE. A WASTE OF PRINTER INK AND COMP. PAPER COLLECTING ONE BRIEF AND MAKING YOU DO LIKE 7-10 BRIEFS, YOU CAN STUDY ALL YOU WANT FOR EXAMS BUT POINTS WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FOR DUMB REASONS.
All of these reviewers that say she is horrible obviously didn't put in any effort. All you need to do is pay attention and you will do fine. I took her over the summer and we did the same amount in 5 weeks as others did in 13 weeks. If you try and pay attention you can get an A in the class.
I hate her, a student in the class had his house on fire and he missed the midterm because he was with his mother in the hopital and he brought in proof and she still wouldn't let him take the midterm. She said it was not her problem he missed the midterm. Another student was about to commit suicide because he could not take her and she was no help
she is such a crazy funny teacher, which makes her classes seem interesting and fun. although the tests seem a little long, she is still a great teacher to have. take her!
Took Prof Santiago for 203, 209, and Crj 101. She is a passionate professor, and has taught me so much. One of the best professors at JJC
THIS PROFESSOR REALLY MAKES U THINK, SHE IS VERY HELPFUL, SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST LAW PROF AT JJC, SHE KNOWS HER STUFF, AND AND VERY HELPFUL. SHE DOES STRESS ON TARDINESS, SO DONT BE LATE. TAKE NOTES IN HER CLASS IN IMPORTANT, SHE IS WORTH TAKIN BELIEVE ME
If you want a professor who spoonfeeds you the course material, then don't take her. If you want to learn and plan on working for your grade, I recommend her. Contrary to some of the comments written here, I've found that she has absolutely no problem answering questions. She's tough on her students because she wants to make sure you are learning.
Expecting to do a lot of work. You will have to earn your grade. Prof. made us do a lot of Supreme Court briefs and only collect 5. You may find that is not fair, but it is for your own good (understand the case, exam review, future study.etc.) It is not an easy class, but you will learn a lot from her.
She is one of the toughest professors yet. You have to literally earn for your grade points by points. She is nuts about spelling and vocabularies. 2 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. read and do all of her briefs... even if she only collects 5-6 briefs out of 30. she gives extra credits during halloween for wearing costume-brief related.
The prof is extremely hard but you would benefit from her class. She's picky about vocabularies & grammar. If you need help, she'd be here to help you. She's very strict but I found her to be sweet. two quizzes, two exams, 5 briefs out of 30 and possibly some extra credit. She's FUN!
Yes,the class does require a lot of time and work, but the point is to learn and you do!She does know the material, but may get frustrated when it is not understood right away.Everthing factors into the grade,if you attend class, take notes, study, read (basics)multiplied. The class is challenging, hard grading, but interesting. How committed are you?
VERY INTENSE CLASS. She likes to give briefs! She assigns between 3-10 case briefs like every other week and doesn't tell u which one she will collect. Not really an easy A, u gotta work hard or drop it. Its the right class for those who actually wanna learn.
This class is not easy. Santiago is very professional, she is very smart and funny, but it is not an easy class. She makes you do 35 briefs to only collect 5. what a waste of time!!!! I got an A on this class but its hard as hell. She stresses alot on vocabulary. So if you really want to learn take her. Her quizes and test are overall easy. Lucks!!
Prof. Santiago is one of the best professors at John Jay. She is difficult, and yes you do have to earn your grade, but she is a fair grader and you will definitly learn a lot from her. She requires 5 briefs, you must do all 30 because you don't know which ones she will collect. Pay attention to vocab, and dont be late. DO NOT CHEAT ON THE BRIEFS!!!
Professor Santiago is my favorite teacher at John Jay. The only reason students don't like her is unlike many teachers at John Jay, she expects her students to do the work and come out of the course actually knowing something. I enjoyed the challenge and came out of her course feeling fulfilled. News Flash guys school in suppose to be challengi
great professor! with her point system taking every little thing into consideration, you would have to be either VERY STUPID OR VERY LAZY if u fail her class.
Hard work and attendance is MANDATORY! You will learn in this class. Don't fret after it is over you can gloat about your extensive vocabulary and knowledge or supreme court cases.
DON'T TAKE HER....THE WORST EVER...VERY CONCIETED
Professor Santiago is a really good professor. i admit she is intimidating, but she teaches so well. She explains every tiny thing until we understand it. Take her if you wanna learn.
I took Law 209 with her in the beginning of this summer and I can easily say that she is one of the best professor's at John Jay. You have to work hard for your grade but that's what college is all about. I recommend taking law classes and I wish more professor's were as dedicated as her at John Jay.
omg she is okay but she is hard and she does not care about the excuses that you have!!!
professor santiago is a very good professor dont get me wrong, however she is way too strict she makes you do 5 to 9 briefs at a time but she only collects one. one chapter was 11 briefs!!. if you do take her be aware she take off alot of point for spelling and grammer. she know what she talking about but its hard when you have other classes too.
I took Santiago's class about 10 years ago, Her work ethic, high expectations, and obvious class is the reason why I went to a tier one law school and survived. John Jay students work full or part time, have kids, and other obligations preventing them from doing well. If you are looking for a free ride, she is not the professor for you.
She's not a bad prof. but she's not a great prof. The lady knows her stuff but she expects everyone else to understand it just like her. She needs to realize that her understanding of law comes from years of learning. Expecting that everyone else will get it is unreasonable. Its alot of ridiculous work and unless you dont have a life, dont do it.
never take...gives the amount of work/homework/reading= 2 or 3 classes....she went to ivy league schools and thinks thats where shes teaching...she informed us of the number of students in her last class that got each grade and out of 30 students- just under 1/3 got F's, approx. 1/2 failed...that says more about the teacher than the students i thin
Do the work, pay attention, make sure you read the text book and do the case briefs and you'll do fine.
this is the worst prof ever dnt take her she treats u like ur in elementary school and gives a lot of unnecessary work. She grades more on grammar and spelling than anything else. USE THE BOOK! TEST ARE HARD.
most rudiest professor at jjay... doesnt care about her students or cares to help them....very selfish attitude.. make u do 31 briefs and collects 5... biggest waste of time...ever
I know everyone gives her a poor rating, but in all honesty she is a good professor, YES IT IS ALOT OF WORK, YOU DO HAVE TO DO 31 BRIEFS and only 5 are taken, but honestly if you put the leg work in and commit yourself you will do absolutely fine, this was my first law class and I got a B+, PAY ATTENTION, DO THE WORK, ATTEND CLASS! SHE IS NICE TOO
this prof. made me hate law!... made it seem boring and difficult more than what it really is. Very unreasonable when it comes to the way she treats the students. makes you feel dunmb and useless.
Very meticulous and strict when grading briefs and exams. Students must answer questions elaborately and with flawless grammar in order to gain full points on briefs and exams. She makes lectures very clear and easy to understand. She is very nice.
Very Strict. Adheres to her agenda. No leniency what so ever. Procrastinators beware! Her class is not for you!
If you need to take Law209 dont take her. Even if you have to wait another semster. She is childish and rude and she can never be wrong. Her test are awful if you dont word it they way she wants you to its wrong. She is the worst professors i ever had here at John Jay. AGAIN DO NOT TAKE HER YOU WILL FAIL
She is a strict professor. You won't get anywhere if you don't do the work. Just do it and you can learn alot.
STAY AWAY OR THOUGH SHALL NOT GET HIGHER THAN B. HALF OF MY CLASS GOT Ds
Most of what I learned at JJ I learned from her. Yes, she IS very strict and that is why some 3/4 of students hate her. But she is from the top league - if you want your further education to run better end easier - take her! I worked my ... off, got B+ and I'd take her again. Yes, if you skip a class - you're not likely to get an A or a B.
Prof is great, she knows exactly what she is talking about, she is a very talented person in her feild. If your a procrastinator dont take her. if you dont have an intrest in a challenging class, go somewhere else. shes not easy but if you work hard, you will get things done. DONT BE ABSENT OR YOU WILL MISS ALOT.
If you're a full time student with a job, i don't recommend her.Students must have enough time to be able to manage and tackle the work to their best abilities.Unless you're a student with genius abilities of very fast and keen reading and writing skills, don't take her class if you're a full time student with other obligations.
She's a tough teacher but you learn alot. If you want to learn and are interested in law this is the best place. Earn your grade that's what we should be doing.
She is extremely knowledgeable, and thorough. Very approachable after class. If you are full time and have a job, i suggest you dont take her. If you have time to devote, take her and youll ;earn A LOT!
Teaches like you're a grad student. She gives massive amounts of briefs and collects like 5. Overall shes a hard grader, and gives too much work, BUT I learned sooo much. Tough class, but if you can keep up you learn a great deal.
She has to be one of the smartest ppl I have met in a long time.....and she's cares and make sures that each student understands!
She is a horrible professor who has little concern for the well doing of her students. She is very self-absorbed and will spend a lot of time talking about how she went to an ivy league and knows 2 supreme court justices meanwhile spending little to no time on reviews or how to do her briefs. Don't take her!!!
This professor is not an easy professor. She believes that all her studets are lawyers and should know everything. She also doesn't allow anyone to use the bathroom. she'll take 1/8 of points away if you walk out to use the restroom. Her idea of extra credit is to, dress like a judge and go to Good morning america, and bribe your way onto televison
This professor is definitly not the average. when it comes to money as a student you will definitly learn in her class, it requires major attention for briefs, quiz, midterm and final. the only thing i dislike is her grading system, based on that you'll doubt hard working skills in a subject that interest you.
This professor is definitly not the average. when it comes to money as a student you will definitly learn in her class, it requires major attention for briefs, quiz, midterm and final. the only thing i dislike is her grading system, based on that you'll doubt your hard working skills in a subject that interest you.
She is very harsh and expects students to know things we should be learning in Law School. I would not recommend taking her
at first she seems tough. but its because she takes her material very serious. she is really really cool once u get to know her. she knows everything about the supreme court and she will even tell u some gossips about the justices and other people in the political world. do all the briefs! over all i loved her
Ms. Santiago is very well versed, very self absorbed, only does ONE review for the final, which half doesn't end up on the actual test. Your work will lose more points for ugly handwriting than the actual content. i actually tried my best in this class, and she still managed to take off just enough points to fail me, don't waste your time!!
I am a good student and i couldn't pass this class.Great teacher who try's to teach but she couldn't make me understand half of the time.Half of the time she would be picky on spelling and other grammatical errors.Yes we are in college but she treated all my peers like idiots. I feel like she was not fare on students. This class is hard.
Do not take this class unless you want to fail. She is very tough and take off point for spelling and bad hand writing. she talk more about her pictures of her life than the lesson...SHE IS THE WORSE
im sitting in her class now. (end of the semster) .. VERY hard to pass the class. students in my class all agree. she is VERY particular and WILL in fact FAIL you. i wish i would have known. i wouldve never taken her class. my gpa is a 3.6 im not just a lazy student looking for a easy class but this is TOO much to pass
HORRIBLE! DO NOT TAKE HER. SHE TAKES OFF POINTS FOR SPELLING ON EXAMS THAT SHE DOESN'T EVEN GIVE ENOUGH TIME FOR! SHE DOES REVIEW FOR AN ACCUMULATIVE 100 QUESTION FINAL & DOES NOTTTTT RETURN WORK BACK ON TIME. UNLESS YOU WANNA SET YOURSELF UP FOR FAILURE DONT TAKE THIS PROF.
Very Very Very Very Very Very Hard Professor!
Prof. Santiago is notorious at JJC. Her experience alone provides her students with invaluable information. Her classes are difficult, and she doesn't really respect her students. She talks about her connections with the Supreme Court more than necessary. You will learn a lot in her class, if you can make it through. You need the text book.
She is by far the hardest college teacher I have ever had. She is veryyy precise in what she wants and how she wants when it comes to case briefs and exams/quizes. It is very hard to get a good grade in her class and very hard to get her crazy out there extra credit. I will be withdrawing from her class probably next week b/c I dont want the F.
Okay for all the hardworking students out there professor Santiago is a challenge but I guarantee you will learn a lot. Now for the other students who are wasting time complaining you should be studying for her exams and doing the work. I took her and she was very good actually I would recommend her to those who value hard work and are dedicated.
She is a hard grader and should probably spend more time on helping you with your briefs instead of gossip and pictures but she is one of the best professors you will have. I learned more in her class then I have in a whole semester with other professors. Shes that good. Shes pretty cool after a while. All in all if your lazy stay away.
i'm so happy that it's over,i have no idea what will be my grade!(depends on my final, as it's 40 points!!) too much woork on her class, i did pretty well according to her point evaluation. But i wason her class every single time, so i get some extra points for this! guys be ready to study well, try to get extra tasks, it helps a lot!good luck))
Santiago is an excellent and efficient professor, I learned a lot in her class. This class is not for students who expect to receive an easy A. Hard work and effort and you will do fine. Overall, one of the best professors I've have had.
I got an A in her law203 class. I did all the work. If you can't handle her work then your gonna struggle in life. She brings out the best in you. I learned more in her class then a semester with others. An A is possible but how bad do you want it?
Prof Santiago loves what she does and that makes her an invaluable asset to the JJ community. She forces you to push yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of doing. Her class is demanding, but certainly worth taking. I received an A, and I haven't forgotten what she taught. Wish I could have taken her again before graduating.
The work load in this class is far beyond the normal work load for a Law203 class. She is a very harsh grader, you have come to class because she takes actual points off your grade. I would not recommend anyone to take her.
Prof. N. Santiago is an extraodinary professeur. Her passion for teaching, her vast kowledge, care and concern is among the best I have encountered throughout my college career. The lessons she teach reach beyond the classroom both personally and throughout life. She is a gift and a pleasure.
IF YOU'RE SERIOUS ABOUT SIGNING YOUR LIFE AWAY AND GOING TO A TOP TIER LS AND CAN'T HANDLE PROF. SANTIAGO, DON'T BOTHER. ANYONE ACTIVELY INTERESTED IN LAW OR IF YOU PLAN ON GOING TO LAW SCHOOL, TAKE HER!! HER GRADING SYSTEM ALLOWS YOU TO KNOW WHERE YOU STAND THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE SYSTEM. ALWAYS REMEMBER "YOU EARN YOUR GRADE".
Professor Santiago is an overall excellent professor. Her course is challenging but the way she teaches makes everything easier to understand. Ive learned more with this proffesor during a summer semester than my 5 classes combined in my spring semester. Taking her class in the summer is advisable.
best profeesor ever she has been there and done that if you walk away not understanding the law it is your own fault...
She asks for so much work its extreme. A lot of briefings to do through-out the semester. Extremely hard in grading. Spelling counts in everything. I dont recommened if you are not ready to work your butt off!!
She doesn't make the class interesting and hardly ever teaches students anything. Lastly their are 35 case briefs to due and she collects 6. Yet grading method is ridiculous. For your own good Do Not Take Law203 with her.
She will make you earn every credit for this course ...literally. A heavy workload is in store for you... She is very specific in her grading, grammar and a through understanding on the assigned briefs will be key....and also attendance...don't forget attendance, that was almost my downfall this semester. She isn't strict, but she expects a lot.
As a person She is very nice. She knows the stuff however she is such a nighmare for the students. The course design is so hard. You cannot concentrate in any other classes if you have her. I recomend her if you want to learn something personally but never take her as a part of semester life.
She's nice. She will not allow any concessions for any reason. She has way too much time on her hands and expects everyone else does too. You must have the memory of an elephant or you will not pass. She wants answers verbatim; being close or nearly close will get you a 0.However, you will learn a thing or two. Good Luck! You goanna need it.
IF YOU WANT TO GET AN A ON HER CLASS YOU MUST WORK REALLY HARD. This professor gives you alot of case brief and at the end of the day is only colleting one from flepping a Coin. I THINK THE COIN IS MAGNETIC BECUASE SHE ALWAYS GET COLLECT THE CASES SHE WANTS. A LOT OF WORK FOR this class. She seems nice, but the class is way to much.
This professor is an absolute nightmare. Her overall teaching style and condescending attitude makes for a terrible experience. Be prepared for a ton of very hard and strictly graded work.
This professor is difficult. If you want an A you must work extremely hard. Even though she is a tough professor. She is very good at what she teaches. She knows her stuff. I would recommend her if you are willing to work hard for your A grade.
she is a very difficult professor. To earn a A in this class you will have to work extremely hard. she is a tough professor. However, the fact that she is very good at what she teaches. She wants their students to give her the best they have during his course and she will push you to the limit to obtain product she want to see. In you learn a lot
MUST READ,OK SO BEEN WAITING FOR AWHILE TO WRITE ABOUT THIS LADY WELL SHE HONESTLY IS RUDE TO STUDENTS, EXPECTS US TO RAISE OUR HAND TO ASK TO GO TO THE BATHROOM,I MEAN WE R IN COLLEGE LADYYY,,SHES WAY TO 1920s strict. FOR ALL THE WORK I DID STILL GOT AN F. TOOK SAME COURE WIT PROF, RUBIN AND GOT AN A NOW WTF DOES THIS TELL YALL. PLZ DONT TAKE HER.
This was HORRIBLE. The class in general is very interesting, but the professor is bad. She do not want to help nobody. She rather make you look dumb than to help you. I am extremely disappointed.
IF YOU WANT AN A IN THIS COURSE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HER CLASS. She is very intelligent but there's no way you can pass her class. you have to do 80 briefs she only collects 10 she doesn't goes over anything. Her grading method sets you up to fail don't take her your GPA will suffer
If you want to actually learn and earn your grade this course is for you.. if not, STAY AWAY! She is a VERY TOUGH grader and loves the supreme court justices and latin words.. You have to read ALOT , brief about 25 cases in which only 5 are collected take 2 quizzes, midterm and final. It's a hard class but i learned SO MUCH from her & her teachings
If you want to have a stressful semester take this professor, don't get me wrong her way of teaching is excellent. However her exams and brief cases, and quizzes are extremely hard you really need to study hard if you want to do well her class.
This is a tough course, but has been my fav, I loved it. Its not to be taken lightly. She's tough but knows her stuff. I handed in 1 brief but aced her exams. She makes you do the work to learn the material and goes over the important parts in class, its your job to know the rest. She’s not for everyone, but you get what you put into her course.
I would honestly have to say I did lose sleep over this class, for sure. It was the most difficult class I have ever taken in college. However, I learned SO much in this class, more than any other class. She really knows her stuff. If you're lazy, this class is not for you. If you like to know you earned your grade, and to learn, take this class!
It was this class that made me interested in the law.
i took her class fall 2014 i would not take her again 2 quizzes, midterm, final, in class writing and i believe 30 brief and five will be pick from it too much work for no reason and she wont give you extra credit for the extra brief. DONT TAKE IT
You should always take at least one class like hers before leaving, Yea its super stressful but these are the only classes where I actually learn something, got a C (barely) only take if your gpa can take a hit
One of the worst classes I have taken ever. The professor is not clear, is unorganized, and does not encourage students, but rather gives off the vibe that their answers are not good enough. Would not suggest this professor if you do not want to hurt your GPA.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. She acts like she is teaching at Yale or Harvard. This is John Jay and an undergraduate class. She knows her information but does not know how to teach in a way that her students retain the information. She gives a lot of work but only collects 14 of it. She is A very hard grader also.
She wont allow you to leave the class. You need to read everything in the book. Make you remember supreme justices all the day.
It is said that one professor throughout college will change your perspective and outlook on life. Santiago was that professor. Her class was difficult, but learned a lot. Professor Santiago's class prepared me for all my level 300 and 400 classes. Wish I was able to tell her thank you before graduating.
Her way of teaching is outstanding, she push students to their limits and give the best of them. But when it come to grades you really need to study very hard in order to grade a decent grade in her class
Professor Santiago receives a lot of harsh feedback on here, but it you take the time to do the readings and study hard, you will find her to be one of the best professors you've ever had. She will make you work for your grade, and at the end of the semester you will know the amount of work you put into the course based on your grade.
This class wasn't bad but she gave she gave more homework than all 3 of my other classes added together. She's a good professor but if you wamy a decent gpa, don't take her.
excellent professor, explains everything clearly. Has some extreme classroom rules but I liked them. her grading criteria set you up for failure, you have to do multiple case briefs at a time such as 11 for ch. 6 but she only collects one. too much work for no credits. I did learn a lot but had to drop because I could see my gpa get badly affected
omg this is my first semester at john jay idk if all the other professors are like this but she's horrible! She gives a lot of case briefs and she only collects 6 by flipping a coin you do not get credit for the work you've done. Her way of grading is horrible you gets 1/8 of a point per question which is horrible. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Not a good professor. She sets you up for failure. She grades with a 1/4 point which I have never seen in all my life. No professor had me more stressed about passing than this lady. I tried my hardest to pass, did the briefs but I am still failing. Very discouraging and judge mental. On the tests she asks questions in a way that is very confusing.
Prof Santiago will expect more from you than any other professor. Which can be very challenging but more than anything stressful when she makes faces at students for giving wrong answers, does not let you use the bathroom. She will set you up for failure whether you are an A or C student. Careful do not take! Ever!
great person but a horrible professor! She expects you to grab the moon and bring it for her! Do not take her if you want to pass!
Professor Santiago is not helpful at all. She also has an attitude especially if you give her the wrong answer. Will not allow you to use the bathroom or leave the room at anytime. Also gave a speech about not allowing boys to wear muscle shirts in the Spring semester when it is 90 degree in the school.
By far the worst professor I have had. Her method of grading is ridiculous, using 1/2 points and 1/4th points to give credit. She makes you do multiple case briefs throughout the semester only to collect 5. She's overly critical, can be rude, and an overall awful professor. Either you have written down what she wants WORD for WORD or you FAIL.
the way that she grade is to heavy her quizzes are half points and she expects you to write about 5 case briefs when she will only take one but don't try to giver one she doesn't want
I had to drop her class before I failed. I am an A student and future lawyer but I'm not in law school yet. She is tough, I would not advise anyone to take her. No one passes.
I never wrote a review on this website until I took her class. Everything about her teaching method is awful. All I can do is reccomend you truly dont take her regardless if you are an A student or not. The material on her quizes and test are never distinctly told to you. The flaws with her teaching method are innumerable. Save yourself the anguish
Gives atleast 5 case breifs to do ( which literally have to be masterpeices in order to receive a good grade). She determines which one (and only one) to collect by flipping a coin. Very tough grader on the tests and quizes (no review). No second chances, if you mess up you fail. Do not take this class regardless if you're an A student.
she makes the class very hard, gives you to brief 5 to 6 cases a week and then only picks one to collect by flipping a coin. her grading system is horrible using 1/2 and 1/4 points. she calls you out in the middle of the class specially when you are absent she calls you out in the next class. doesn't allow you to use the bathroom.
If you pay attention, arrive early to class (on time), if there is any matter to be discuss let her know on time. After all shes not that bad, anyone should be fine after respecting the rules.
Her classes are not easy A classes. She teaches with great knowledge and pushes her students. If you can't follow rules and stay on top of homework and discussions, you will not do well in her class. If you're a good student, you're going to love the class and know that your good grade is purely a reflection about you as a student.
Everything you need to know. No bathroom is allowed, no powerpoints are used (lecture heavy) be prepared to write down everything she says even things that have nothing to do with the class will pop up on a quiz to see if you were paying attention. Stupid grading system, 1/4 points, etc. makes you do 30 case briefings but only collects 5. Avoid her
Welcome to Law 203, where your chances of passing are based on a coin. Prof Santiago flips a coin to collect one case brief out of the 30 she makes you do. Then the highest grade you can get is 5 points, and it would have to be perfect. She also don't let students use bathroom and if student gets up and if student is late or absent she deduct point
If your ready to fail to take this class. Santiago talks about things that don't relate to the class and want to students to remember oh and you have to know the justices kids names and their names as well. Her grading is 1/2 or 1/4 or 1/8 and if you're lucky she might give you a 1 point. If you want your GPA to go down take her class. stressful
This was like torture, she flips a coin and takes case briefs which are about 20 pages long, and then you have to do like 50 case briefs, and she only picks 5. The case briefs may or may not get points.
no good
WORST CLASS OF MY LIFE. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS.
All i have to say is NO. She a wonderful women but as far as teaching goes NO, there is no real final review , majority of the class is going over law based vocab, she grades on a point basis so what you get is what you get and shes very tedious with the point system. For example, a question will be worth 1 point on your ENTIRE GRADE
so now after youve written your answer that is worth 1 point of your entire grade she deducts points for spelling and clarity, so if you were to spell for example the word TRIAL AS TRAIL youd lose 1/4th of a point. This may not seem like alot but it adds up quick. Ive seen kids get ONLY 3/4ths of a point as credit for an assignment worth 4 points
Professor Santiago is VERY STRICT, straight forward, & holds very high standards and expectations of her students. If you are not prepared to work hard and do a lot of reading and really dedicate your time to this class. DO NOT TAKE this class. If you are up for the challenge, I encourage you to take this class. I promise you it builds character!!
Do not take this professor
I should have listened to the negative ratings. Her class is the combined difficulty of the three other classes I'm taking because of the time that has to be put into her homework. I took her Tues and Thurs class and she had us do 20 briefs on Tues and 20 again on Thurs. Out of 20, she collects 5 and the briefs we hand in is never good enough.
her tests are related to the class but not fully. She grades us on random facts that she throws out there during the class. She has us do briefs but only gives us credit for one even if we took our time to do 8 briefs. she doesn't tell us what brief she is collecting . no bathroom use during her class. Test are hard. Takes points away for spelling.
She is very VERY strict will constantly ask question about the homework which by the way is a lot of reading of criminal cases with hard text and so get ready to and to make matters worse she will only collect one of the (in my class) 30 case review which take hours to do so be ready to work and will often take class time for one subject
She's a good professor and she knows her stuff but she needs to cut down on the assignments. She gives so much work and expects us to do about 30 briefs but when she grades them she gives it back to you 3 weeks later which is ridiculous how i am supposed to study for exams with my briefs if you don't give it back on time. She can't even keep up.
Professor Santiago is VERY VERY VERY VERY STRICT. Her workload is worth three classes. To be honest try avoiding her if you would like to have an easy semester.
Professor Santiago was, by far, the best professor I had during my tenure at JJC. I have a great deal of respect for her and am very much so appreciative of the knowledge Ive gained from her classes. Please nominate her to SCOTUS instead of that awful Kavanaugh guy.
She is THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER TAKEN, DO NOT TAKE HER. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE HER, EVER!!!!
If you are looking for an easy class, look elsewhere. Otherwise, Prof. Santiago is an amazing professor. She has a bad rep for being tough, but if you are actually looking to learn something she is the professor to take. She makes you work for your grade, but it is worth it. I am extremely grateful I got the opportunity to be in her class.
The workload in this class is equivalent to that of 3 classes. However, without taking this course I would still be the lazy student I once was. This class caused me not procrastinate and get my work done. Although I would never take this class again, I am thankful for the character that it built in me. I only recommend if you want a challenge.
If you are taking other classes along with hers, be prepared to be constantly stressed out. She is an extremely challenging professor and does not give any leg room in order to make up for time you have missed or if there was extenuating circumstances. she will give approximately 30 case briefs throughout the semester and collect only 1.
Do not take Prof. Santiago. awful! She makes you feel a "chilling effect on speech" , which is one of her vocabulary words that she expects us to know from out of nowhere you'll see it on your quiz. DO NOT TAKER THIS COURSE WITH HER.
She goes on and on about how she went to Harvard and has met the Supreme Court justices. She gets pleasure from failing her students. She is an extremely hard grader. She will put vocabulary on test and quizzes, sometimes in latin, that were NEVER brought up in class. You have an extremely slim chance of passing her class.
Its the first day and she told us that we are not allowed to use the bathroom during class and no showing skin in the summer she doesnt want to see underarms! Oh my god, and the amount of work is ridiculous if you want to be overwhelmed and stuck at home on the weekends shes the best. She coin tosses on which paper she should grade!
I took this professor in 2014, so maybe a few things have changed. She was rather challanging back then. Take her if you want to get a taste of what law school work is like. Now that I am in law school, her class work is very light. You need to actually want to learn about law to enjoy her class. Be ready to work.
Austere is the best word to describe her. Prepare to work and read, a lot. I respect her character, but the only thing I despise is the flipping of the coin to decide what brief she will grade. Completely unnecessary because students already have other classes to worry about. Tip if you want to pass: stay ahead.
Prof. Santiago's class is difficult to say the least. However, you do walk away from the class having learned a great deal. She assigns 30 case briefs throughout the semester but only collects 7. Also, take notes even on things that seem silly bc she WILL put them on the quizzes, midterm, & final. She is a nice woman but I wouldn't take her again.
Don't take her class if you don't plan on going to law school, put it like that. Her class is extremely difficult to say the least. She assigns over 30 case briefs and only grades about 5 of them in total. She expects you to know Latin vocabulary and certain quotes from the cases instead of just the case and outcome of it itself. Grading is tough
This professor is the rudest professor i have ever taken. She thinks because she went to Harvard that she needs to treat us like we are in Harvard. I would rather do the work that I need to do to get the degree im going for which is a bachelors not a PHD. You CANT USE THE BATHROOM DURING HER CLASS. 8 cases need to be briefed in 2 weeks, every week.
Professor Santiago is a brilliant mind who gets a bad rep because of her attitude. I'll admit that she is a very strict person but you will definitely learn a lot from her if you put in the work. Her grading system is wonky because she grades off points, not percentages. She does provide extra credit on every exam because they are extremely hard.
Grades very hard. She makes you think that your passing and then you fail.
If you want to go to Law school I recommend you take her class, because the intense work will prepare you. She a VERY tough grader, doesn't allow students to use the bathroom during class, and take off a lot of points for spelling and grammatical errors. Her teaching methods is crazy, but it will make sense in the end.
This professor is for lack of a better phrase, excruciatingly difficult. Not only that, but also rather rude. I understand that being late is not good, but when you show up late, get ready for her gaze of disapproval that will embarrass you. She will also make you do more work than she necessary. Overall, STAY AWAY AT ALL COST.
This professor is very rude. Don't take her class if you have other responsibilities. She let you do five supreme court cases and toss a coin to choose only to grade them, like we got nothing else to do.
DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR GPA TO GO DOWNNNN!!!!
If you're not interested in doing Law, don't take this class. Professor is interested in your not only passing, but be meticulous because the judicial system requires it. Please read ahead, lots of material. The subject matters are very interesting and she makes the class fun. Forget the negative remarks and go for it. You will thank her later.
I taken Prof. Santiago for three different courses, and I got an A in her Law 313 class. She is a VERY HARD grader and does five a lot of work, but it is because she wants her student to learn. If you don't want to go to law school I don't recommend you take her. She would give us 5 briefs and only collect one&takes off point for grammatical error
This professor is very difficult. Not only that, but also rude. I understand that being late is not good, but when you show up late, get ready to be embarrassed by her. She will also make you do more work than necessary. Overall, pick someone else. I was lucky to get a B but her grading is nitpicking and blames students for less than perfect work.
Coming from a real G, Professor Santiago is lit. Her goal is to teach us discipline, ways to be able to remember stuff and improve your writing skills. She'll use a lot of abbreviation for you to remember terms and she is humorous but strict on attendance and lateness. It can get annoying at times but trust me you end up learning. SHE'S LITT.
This is NOT a professor you want to take. She's very difficult in grading. If you ask a question she will NOT answer. Your GPA will go down if you take her class
LOOK BRUH RUN AND NEVER GET CLOSE TO ANY OF HER CLASSES SHE WILL FAIL EVERYBODY IN YOUR CLASS THE TEST SHE GIVES ARE HARVARD LEVEL DO NOT DO IT
Profesor Santiago is undeniably a great profesor. However, she is very strict. Sometimes it'll seem like your best isn't enough and it can get frustrating. She assigns a bunch of briefs for each chapter, then flips a coin in class on the day of and only grades one. You will learn a a lot, they should just change this class to Discipline101.
Never Even Think about talking this professor. You will thank me later.
Never take her class
Take her if you want to ruin your gpa
This professor is by far one of the hardest professors I have encountered. She can come off as too strong and rude. Yet, it is not all that bad. Many people are not comfortable with this level of discipline, which is normal. She will prepare you for the real world. READ your material and participate for all of what she mentions turns up on the exam
The most horrid educator I have encountered In the 15 years of being a student. This professor does not clarify her wants in the syllabus and has a tendency to "simply wing it". She offers extra credit as the only way to get an A+.Flaunts the low scores she gives out like an achievement. Do not be sorry Prof. Nilsa be better for these students.
She is rude. Never actually teaching anything in class, don't take her!!!!!!
I wouldn't take her class if you don't want to work 20x hard
This is by far the most hardest excruciating professor I've had EVER in my college career. She makes everything more complicated and difficult then need be. She wants your brief's to be super perfect as if your already a lawyer. She's nitpicks every little thing on a point to point basis leaving little to no wiggle room for a good grade. AWFUL !
Professor Santiago is a hard grader. I honestly thought I was not going to pass her class with an A. The class consist of doing weekly briefs and she picks the part of the brief you have to submit. Three group assignments. A midterm and an final exam. Overall, she makes your work for an A on her class.
Prof. Santiago is a strict professor & a tough grader. She assigns a copious amount of work & will pick only 1/5 of it to be graded (using coin flips). If your work isnt up to her standards, itll be used as an example of what not to do. Take her only if shes the only prof for that class & if thats only class youre taking.
Honestly, Professor Santiago is a REALLY tough grader. She knows exactly what she wants and she wants you to work to get to her standard. Even though it's really tough, I liked her class because it made me feel more confident with my major and work in internships. If you take this class, remember that she makes you WORK for your grade!
She is a tough grader. Be sure to read any feedback she gives. Participation matters a lot, she calls on people and will put you on the spot. Pay attention and you will pass. There are a few quizzes but no paper. Attendance is mandatory. Do not skip or you will fail. Some of the quiz questions are from discussions that happen in class.
This professor not only gives your A LOT of homework (which is expected from any professor) but she is also very rude and talks to you like you're beneath her. I wish I saw her rate before taking her class because I would've saved myself from her class. It was not enjoyable to say the least. She also makes things extremely complicated for no reason
If you have other options for a professor to teach Law 203, I HIGHLY recommend DO NOT take Professor Santigo. She is a very tough professor and there are no actual lessons. If you suck at self-teaching, this class isn't for you. You will only ever go over past assignments and papers and expect to teach yourself EVERYTHING. BEWARE.
Very tough professor. No powerpoints, so be prepared to remember discussions. Honestly the class is self teaching so if youre not good at that, I dont recommend you take this class. No matter the work, prof doesnt seem satisfied with the answers you give. Calls on people randomly so if you have anxiety, beware. Not a very pleasant disposition..
Professor Santiago is a very animated professor which at times was the only thing that kept online classes interesting. Exams are easy if you just study the textbook. Participation is neccessary when going over the Quizzes(if you want a good grade).Take notes during the quizzes and you'll pass the exams.
She is the worst professor I regret taking this class !! If you want to pass then dont take her class !!! Shes a tough grader ! Expects us to memorize things she doesnt even explain overall the worst
Is not capable of understanding that she may have failed to teach something. Literally gave a quiz back to the class and said, "there was one question that no student in either of my classes got right. I don't know what that's all about. I guess you guys need to study harder." Yes, all of the students were wrong, no way it was the professor's error
She is a very tough grader, and very discourteous. When she grades assignments, she expects them her way. Throughout the class she would talk down to us, if we didn't know the answer when she called on us, she would make us feel bad for not knowing or for even being confused. Don't take her, if you can take another professor, do so!
Some students will take a class for a grade. Smarter students go to learn. Wanna learn Constitutional law, heres the class to do it. Wanna take a class for space forget it. Btw- working hard is mandatory in corporate America so get used to it
This professor may claim to be attentive, because she provides "critical feedback", however when it comes to grading discussion board posts: she knit-picks at every student's grade. For one punctuation error she is capable of taking off 1 whole point out of 5 points that you can earn, and she continues to do this for all assignments. I warned you.
DO NOT TAKE HER! I never got a grade below and A- in all three years of college but had to drop this class cause she's such a bad grader. She's a narcissist and wants to feel smarter than her students so even if you get an answer right she'll say it's wrong and rephrase what you said. She's mean, most of my class dropped, and she's hated by most.
You're better off taking another class than taking Ms. Santiago's class. I do not like her as a professor. Her teaching method is that of a narcissist, she does not give students the courtesy to review the material provided. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID THIS CLASS.
Prof Santiago is a Big NOO. She is making an exciting class, a horrible class. I would never recommend anyone to take her because she is unreasonable when it comes to students' efforts. She doesn't recognize the hard work we put into her case briefs. she will make you do 16cases and will take one. Highly disappointed that I wasted my money on her.
She was beyond crazy She would give 12 briefs due by one week during midterm week including her midterm and she would only collect one brief she was unfair and inconsiderate she made it hard to focus on my other classes and the tasks were unbearable DO NOT RECOMMEND HER !!!!!!!!
Horrible teaching method! She doesn't put the grades on the blackboard and if you ask for your grade she gets mad. You have to do 5 to 7 case briefs weekly and she just picks 1.She takes points if you don't think or write the way she wants. The extra points she gives are things about her life so you have to learn everything about HER.DON'T TAKE HER
The worst Professor in CUNY HISTORY SHE IS A BIG NOOO!
This Professor is very disrespectful and rude. She should do better and be better.
I never felt like I had to rate a Professor before, but stay away from her. She thinks she's an amazing professor but in reality she's not. She doesn't give you reminders about anything and if you get something wrong she will make you feel stupid. If you plan on missing the midterm DON'T TAKE HER! She doesn't care and will not let you make it up.
Find a different professor
Find a different professor. She would embarrassed you in class. She needs to do better
Avoid this professor at all costs. Their harsh grading and demeaning behavior make for a miserable classroom experience. However, unstuckstudy AI can be a lifesaver for study prep when dealing with a tough professor like this.
WORSE PROFESSOR I'VE EVER TAKEN. Definitely would not recommend, she lets you do a lot of writing assignments and only picks one by flipping a coin. Not allowed to use the bathroom and if you try she would embarrass you in front of the class. She does not deserve to be a professor!!!!!!!
Hard grader! Be prepared to do briefs like crazy and everything better be spelt correctly on quizzes...even if you are right you will be wrong lol Dont let my grade fool you, I am a unicorn, Im the exception. Despite this class being easy for me, everything everyone says here is true. Youll be embarrassed for using the restroom/being wrong in class
She would embarrassed you when you use the restroom. On the top of that she assigned so many breifs case every single week where she only pick one and grade it. On top of that she so picky on how you write where she checks every single spelling. She act she is the best professor. She does not treat us well.
Don't take this class if you don't believe in God.
RUNNNN, DO NOT TAKE HER OH MY GOD. SHE HAS TO BE THE WORST GRADER AT JOHN JAY. SHE GRADES YOU ON EVERY SINGLE THING. SHE WILL LITERALLY GIVE YOU A ZERO FOR SAYING THE SAME ANSWER IN A DIFFERENT WAY COMPARED TO HER. IF YOU HAVE TO USE THE BATHROOM SHE WILL LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOUR CRAZY THEN ASK WHY YOU GOING TO THE BATHROOM.
She is a good Professor, but still in the old school style, she needs to update and teach in a different way, so students can learn more. She makes to all students to brief cases and print them, which chapter there was 12 cases and she made us brief and print all of them, which I think is unfair because she only collects 1 of the 12 cases printed.
Prof Santiago can for sure be a tough grader but regardless of the grade you get In her class you will leave with a vast amount of knowledge, she always ensures that she explains everything in depth and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Professor Santiago is strict but inspiring. She ignited my passion for Constitutional Law with mnemonics, lively discussions, and weekly case briefs. I loved answering her questions, and her support pushed me to excel. I left class with a deeper love for the Constitution. Her standards, caring, and enthusiasm make her class invaluable at John Jay.
This course was amazing and i plan on taking her again if you want to learn this course is for you and you will do great as long as you work hard I took her the fall 2024 semester and I will be taking her again for law 313 she is clear precise and she actually shows you what it's like to be a student with expectations. I recommend her class.
She's oldschool, you will need to memorize and study. Hardcore paper, pencils, note taking. No phones. No Bathroom break (Unless emergency). Lots of feedback, lots of writing. Dont get unmotivated. You can pass! Listen and write every note. Some are silly, but it will help you remember answers on tests/ quiz. Make sure you have good penmanship. GL!
I took her in the spring semester in 2024, but I decided to finally rate her. She is horrendous, not a good professor whatsoever. Insanely tough grader, along with not allowing you to use the bathroom. She barricaded the door before when a student tried to use the bathroom. Then the student got her stuff and left. I would've too.
HORRIBLE. She's going to make to do a bunch of case briefs just for her to flip a coin to only collect one. She's very very specific with her grading but you won't know what you got wrong with her terrible hand writing. If you bother getting up to use the bathroom she will call you out to embarrass you saying HeY GuYs No InTeRrUpTiOnS 🤓☝️.
If I learned anything from this class, it's how confusing the class was. She would often go off tandem and talk about what supreme court personnel she went to university with or had cocktails with and would use that as an extra credit question on her exams. Tests are difficult, a lot of reading and she's a bit too overboard for an undergrad class
Professor Santiago is a fun & very intelligent individual. Yet, as a professor, she's very strict. Her grading style is confusing, she flips a coin to help decide which hw's to collect& she expects you to remember all vocab words, every fact of a case & roman numerals. Also very old school. If you're up for a challenge, go for it, but if not, don't.
I believe that professor Santiago was a very good teacher and I learned a lot. If you're just taking a class for the “quick” A forget it. Wanna learn, then get ready to learn, study and be buttoned up. Guarantee you'll learn more about the law than you ever imagined
