An excellent instructor of Hindi. Gupta Ji is incredibly helpful towards her students and puts in the extra effort that makes her teachings on Hindi comprehensible and usable. Though she assigned a book for the class it isn't mandatory. Her method of teaching covers the material of the book and makes use of speaking, writing, reading,& movies.

She is a great Teacher She does not give an A for nothing. You have to work hard in her class and she is always there to help you.Its not just work in her class,as class we do have lot of fun,we celebrate most indian Festivals. She is one of the best teachers at De Anza. She really wants to help you learn the language and keeps the class very enjoyable. Show up to class, participate, and do your homework and you will get a good grade. She makes the class have such a good atmosphere you want to attend it. Highly recommended, she's the best!

Learning a different language is not always easy but with mrs.gupta hindi seems to b so much easier than i thought, and she makes the class alot of fun too. there are people in class who do not belong to the indian nationality who are able to walk out of the class speaking hindi.

Mrs. Gupta knows the secret of perfection, she taught me the secret of writing Hindi which I will never forget & I was amazed. Improve your GPA, EASY A (need efforts 2) + lots of fun too. 1st Couple of classes, I felt uncomfortable but I?m GLAD that I stayed. Doesn?t matter from which Nationality you are from, she has capacity to teach.

Nilu Gupta is a really nice teacher. She is very helpful if you are willing to learn. She loves teaching and communicates well with her students. I took her for Hindi I and now I am taking Hindi II again. Attendance is required the more you go the more you learn. She is like a mom to me and I love her for teaching me Hindi.

Professor Gupta is extremely understanding, helpful, and considerate. She is dedicated to teaching her students all that she can. She truly goes the extra mile to ensure that everyone in her class learns something. This is not a hard class, but you will have to put in effort, which you will be rewarded for! Overall, highly recommended!

When I first walked in this class I didn't know proper Hindi what so ever, in writing or speaking. After working hard in Professor Gupta's class. I have learned a lot and now I can speak proper Hindi and write it. Mrs. Gupta has inspired me to become a South Asian Studies major after this class. -Romiel

Nilu Gupta is a very friendly teacher. Her course structure is very easy and helps a lot to understand the subject. She can repeat as many times as you want. She even give extra time to students who is not familiar with the subject. I will miss her class in next quarter.

Mrs. Gupta is an extremely inspired Hindi teacher! She keeps the class interesting and fun for you. You do not get bored nor tired. Very easy to get an A+ in her class. Almost no homework! New to this language, I didn't think I'd learn it through a qtr class. With the dedicated help and assistance of this caring teacher, I did. I'm VERY impressed. Not much HW assigned, but if you actually care to learn, you'll WANT to do it. She's very helpful on an individual level. Best language teacher I've ever had. We had a Diwali party too. =]

nilu gupta is a good instructor. she is easy on grades and homework. she believes to teach writing and speaking hindi language. good thing about nilu gupta she allow u 3 sick leaves or anything plus she will give u two additional holidays. she is disciplined. she always comes early in the class and help student who wil have problems to learn hindi

Ms. Gupta is a WONDERFUL teacher. She is always attentive, effective and generous with her time. As with any class, you get out of it what you put into it. Mrs. Gupta is the nicest instructor at De Anza. She cares about her students and helps them succeed in Hindi, I learned a lot, her Matra book is very helpful, it helped me to write Hindi very fast. She is a very easy grader, if you work hard it is a very easy A. Her class was fun, I miss her class very much. I highly recommend her.

She is seriously the best Hindi teacher ever! I liked her better than my teacher in India. She is the SWEETEST, most caring woman who always makes sure that you understand. She does not baby you, but she absolutely makes sure that you are learning all that you can. I honestly am so glad that I had her and I learned so much. I love Professor Gupta!!

Prof. Nilu uses a well thought out plan to teach basic Hindi in clear steps. She encourages her students to do well and is supportive of their goals. She manages student behavior well and is understanding of individuals' situations. I personally learned a lot in her class and am thankful for the opportunity.

Nilu Ma'am is the best teacher to learn basic hindi from. She is funny and easy going and helps you if you are having difficulty with your language. She is an understanding teacher and its a very fun and comfortable class where you don't have to stress much. If you do what she says its an easy A. i would take her class every quarter if i could.

Gupta is the Best teacher out here. she takes her time teaching so anyone who is having trouble can catch up. You get can an Easy A as long as you come to class and pay attention. trust me this is the easiest class i have ever taken. teacher is very nice and understands her student's needs.

I've taken Gupta's class from hindi 1 to hindi 3. Her class is a far better option to satisfy your two GE requirements that this will fulfill. Come to class, be respectful to the professor and this will be the most laid back class that you've ever taken. Definite gpa booster.

I just want to start off by saying she is an incredible person and truly cares about the success of her students. It's hard to find a professor that genuinely cares about how their students are doing. I didn't know any of the language before but she will help you! I got into UC San Diego and she is extremely patient with her students and kind.

Really wonderful teacher, very enthusiastic about making sure her students learn the course material. I took Gupta for Hindi 1-3 and enjoyed each class. Defiantly recommend taking all three courses for GE requirement. Respect the teacher and put your effort in and you can easily get a good grade.

If you want to take a good GE class this is the one to take. Professor Gupta teaches Hindi in a stress free environment. Even a non speaker can do really well in her class. She cares for students and there well being. As long as you show up to class and put in one step of effort, Professor will put in three steps to help you succeed.

Nilu Gupta is the sweetest and most caring professor at De Anza. She makes learning Hindi very simple for native/non-native speakers. If you are interested in learning/improving your Hindi reading and writing skills, this is the only course offered in the Bay Area. I do wish she had a more organized/quicker paced curriculum. Show up and pass.

Mrs Gupta is one of the best languages ever. She made learning Hindi interesting and motivating. I learned a lot from her class. She inspired me to learn more about Hindi and Sanskrit languages and cultures. The class is not difficult, and class materials are well designed and layout in her handouts and downloadable books.

Prof Gupta is one of the best language teachers in De Anza college. She is thorough, thoughtful, and dedicated. She worked with me individually on the pronunciation, hand-writing, etc. I really appreciate her efforts.

Professor Gupta created such a warm environment for learning Hindi! I was insecure about my Hindi skills and she created a supportive learning environment where I felt comfortable to ask as many questions as I needed. She was able to meet everyone at the level of Hindi knowledge they were at and facilitated good conversations among us all.

I wanted to learn Hindi for personal reasons so I took all 3 classes at DeAnza College with Professor Gupta. I am amazed at how much I have learned! I can now easily speak in past, present, and future tenses. I can also write and read in Hindi. Professor Gupta explains things really well and is very kind. I especially liked the online classes!

Really good teacher. Very knowledgeable in Hindi. I came from India and needed the language credit. Great for first-time learners as well as she takes her time and teaches students well. Definitely would recommend it. Her class teaches you the foundations of Hindi through reading, videos, and conversations.

Love her so much! She's so considerate about late work, even exams. It really takes the stress off of a language class. She is fairly lenient, and you will almost definitely score above an A- (A or A+ in Hindi 1). Despite how easy she is, you will almost certainly learn Hindi. Final + midterm basically make or break your grade in Hindi 2 and 3.

She extended the deadlines when nobody turned anything in. also always willing to help.
