I got a B in this class and I worked hard for it. Many in the class didn't do as well.
He's the best science teacher.
I like his stile of teaching but goes into profountd detail, I took him for fall 2005 and he did not tell us that if u fail 1 test in his class u fail the whole semester so me an 2/3 of the class failed the whole semester on the first test. if u take him be prepared to study alot and his test was VERY HARD but he does have a godd persona
I completely agree with the student who just commented. I am currently taking the course, and I am barely going to pass if I pass at all. I failed the first test..but wasn't too discouraged since the class average was 70. Took 2 more tests and my scores didn't even change. The class average didn't either. Beware..He is a VERY tough professor.
I do not recomend this guy to anybody he is one of the toughest and hard professors I have ever had. He will go on and on in his lectures and nothing really makes sense. Do not under any circumstances take this guys class or else you will fail or study 5 hours a day.
You never know what he'll ask on the tests. He will ask the most obscure questions that you have to strain to remember. Has too many of his stories.. I do not recommend him if you're taking lots of classes.
IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO IN LIFE i guess you can take this class, but it will take you forever and no matter how hard or long you study the things in the notes dont come out in the test. i think he likes and enjoys the sight to see his students failing.. i dont know.. if you have other choices for teachers i would recommend them than taking him..
knows his stuff. you'll learn a lot
His lectures are LONG!!! Most lab time is spent as lecture time. His stories help to relate to subject but he can get carried away sometimes. He likes students that ask questions and comes to class!! DO NOT take him if you don't plan on working hard for your grade.
VERY HORRIBLE TEACHER,ALL HE TALKS ABOUT IS HIS SON JUNIOR AND CHITTY-CHITTY BANG BAND.DO NOT TAKE HIM PLEASE.VERY HARD.TOOK HIM IN 2001,WORST CLASS EVER.
I took anatomy 1 with him and I have never seen a teacher as tricky and vicious as him. He gives you a long lecture all about his children and funny. But his tests are meant to fail you and then he will make fun of you.Besides, he has the worst grading becuase he has a policy that says " ALL OR NONE" .
he is the worst teacher i ever had! all he does his talk about junior, im not even sure if junior exist! i don't know where he got the questions from his quizzes, he really asked weird questions! more than half of the class dropped this course, out of 24 students only 10 stayed.i studied so hard and worked my a** out but still my grade is terrible!
he confuses us, and thinks he's giving you good lectures by using junior and juniorette. His tests are very hard and tricky and he hardly does labs with the students. We do labs on our own with no help from him!. I had to drop his class on the 3rd test. Even smart students bearly passed his class, what does that say about him and his teachings???
Nimish is very thorough in his teachings and uses his experiences with his children to apply to the topic being learned. He also uses pictures to help students grasp concepts better. His tests are somewhat difficult b/c they require students to comprehend what he taught not just guess the right answer on a test.
this man should be banned from hcc, he doesn't use the textbook much and does do labs. he lets the students work on their own. A couple of people dropped his course. Most people that have taken him know what im talking about!!!
He is a nice guy, but he is really hard. You have to study really hard to make an A in his class. His tests are very hard. I would only recommend him if you have the time to study single everyday.
i took him 4 years ago and i cant stand all the comments these students giving him. he is really hard when it comes to test, but remember grades doesn't really tell anything. i got a C for my grade, but when i went in nursing sch. i remember all the staff i learn from him. if it is not from him i wont be able to survive nursing.
Do not take this teacher if you are a sensitive person. He loves to make fun of fat people in the examples he says and talks a lot about his two children junior and juniorette. Who cares. Lets stick with anatomy please. Don't take him. He is too hard and gets pleasure by seeing his students sweat it out. Take someone else.
He's got lots of stories about Jr & Jrette that he made up to relate AnP1 to the real medical world. It's seems like those 2 kids never grew up; he's been usin those same old stories. He jumps from 1 page to another-so unorganized. You'll learn nothin fr his lab cuz he gives no emphasis to it, w/c would help u in AnP2. Exam's styles r always difrnt
I completely not recommand him.He did NOT teach or discussed lab book. He is jumping from one page to another. He talks at class more about his passed then discussting biology book.
He is hard and not filaxible. I do not recommended students to take A & P 2401 with him.
He is a very good teacher, if you have no knowledge of Biology b4 taking this class then don't take him or any Anatomy instructor. You will not know what is going on. I thought I wasn't going to be able to understand him, but he annunciates everything so well. If you do the Wiley tests, make outlines of his notes and what he tells you to read= pass
In one word do not take course with this man.
Gives you plenty of chances to improve grade and great tutoring. U can tell he loves to teach.
it was a pretty good bio class. nothing too it really is up to u n wat u do wit ur time
The test is really hard. If you study everyday for this class, may be you can take this one. otherwise, you had better reconsider it.
Do not take it.
DO NOT TAKE! He talks WAY TOO MUCH about his personal life/health/KIDS! Exams were DIFFICULT! I studied and it NEVER seemed to help! They were very detailed and off the wall! Although, I must admit he did have very interesting facts concerning the health field, but not enough to teach us!!! I dropped this class before it dropped my GPA.
very difficult teacher. his exams are worded to trick and gives 4 exams and 8 online quizzes. nice guy, very knowledged but,the way he goes about things are way too difficult even for a summer session!!!
This guy really makes it very easy for students, its crazy. sure his tests are tricky but he makes sure you are able to answer them. he is very organised and punctual. he lays a very good foundation 4 going into Biol 2402 which is more informative n challenging. This class was an easy A for me,that was without much effort on my part.just listen2him
these students need to take school more serious! this is the best teacher ever. im coming up on finals in 2401 and it is tough, but worth it to learn something. i look forward to his class everyday and will be taking him for 2402 regaurdless of my grade.HCC is lucky to have him!!Go to school to learn!!!
this teacher is the worst teacher ever...his teaching is easy but his tests are twisted...and all his example have to be about his children..Junior and Juniorette..junior is the smart one and the other one is not..his lab are stupid...he only give one exam for the year...no review note for tests or quizes...and his class his boring..DONT TAKE HIM..
very ocd with everything which is not that bad...SUPER ORGANIZAED!! exams are hard especially the only LAB EXAM. gives his students extra credit for the 3 exams and curves it depending on the highest grade in the class. loves his family very much especially his kids so ull be hearing about them A LOT!
He takes getting used too. He tells you what to focus on during reviews but that doesnt matter because you will notice that almost none of it is on the actual test. His reviews do not reflect whats on the test. Instead, the ONE, MAIN thing he focuses on each chapter LEARN THAT BY HEART. That will be on the test. I recommend not taking him.
He talks way to much about his family when he should be talking about the class. His tests are very very hard. I studied by butt off and did not do well.He is very strict on his grading and thinks he is always right about everything, not even related to biology. dont take him.
HORRRIBLLEE TEACHERRRR DON'T EVER TAKE HIM AND IF ANYBODY KNOWS WHERE HIS TESTS COME FROM PLZ LET ME KNOW IM ABOUT TO FAIL HIS CLASS
the guy is hard as hell!!! his lectures are good and he gives you what u need to know, but his tests are the ones that will destroy you! these tests are vial and evil and they are worded to throw you off. the ONLY lab exam you better know your lab packet or you will fail! dont miss quizzes and do GOOD on them for it will bring one low test grade u
He is hard but you will definetly learn. Excellent in teaching anatomy. He does give alot of chance for students to improve. He gave big curves on the first test and the lab exam.
Dont let these comments here scare u. If u actually r taking this class 2 learn then u will b fine. Its very challenging but its worth it. The key is 2 READ YOUR TEXT BOOK. If u read thoroughly and THEN go over ur notes the tests wont b so difficult. DONT depend on ur notes 2 study they should only b a guide once u already understand the material
Nimish is a great professor! He gives examples (based on his "kids") because they provide a way to remember the concept. Tests aren't too hard; the questions are from the notes or mentioned in the required readings. He knows how to teach and make the info understandable. I recommend him, as long as you do your part in keeping up with the lectures.
The people who say this class was hard really did not work as hard as they should have. I worked my butt off the entire 5 weeks by reading and going over notes constantly. His tests were sort of tricky if you don't know your material inside and out, but not impossible. His lab exam is very difficult if you don't use the time he gives you to work
Possibly the hardest teacher in the world. if u love high grades then stay away or u will regret it. lets just say my lowest grade ever was a "B". I made a "D" and i really studied my butt off.
I A'sed all my biology classes till i met Nimish dis summer for A&P 2, Terrible experiance. But i had him in 1406, though, managed to come out with a grade. I will not encourage you to take him in a summer class. besides his tests are extremely hard, no reviews, you are on your own. Talks too much and off the track sometimes. look before leaping.
he does not understand how to teach the students.he is very unreliable.he always talked about junior's and senior's, to set for example.
He's pretty cool, curves the tests all the time. However, make sure you know GENERAL BIOLOGY before taking his class. I'M SURE YOU CAN DO WELL on his class IF YOU DO STUDY.
very in depth class. YOU MUST STUDY TO PASS!!! test can be tricky but it helps if you have a study partner to compare notes. lots of info is given out, lots of memorizing. can be OCD-ish but is consistant and fair. stay up on the quizzes and bonuses (helps keep grade up). get a good recorder for the lectures
Lectures are key to his class. When he says this is important listen. I liked him because he narrows the material down for you. His examples are memory enhancers so listen to em. The test are tricky and emphasize understanding of whole concepts rather than plain memorization. Go to class read what he tells you and you should be alright.
This class is very in depth. You MUST read the stuff he tells you to read + go over class notes + skim over the powerpoints = A. I took this class over the summer and it was very fast-paced but manageable. Very good prof! Explains very well.
HCC is lucky to have an intelligent professor like Nimish who is willing to thoroughly teach and actually wants the students to learn. However, his tests are DIFFICULT. It requires the knowledge from his lectures, textbook, and power- points. This is definitely not a blow off class. Although he is very smart, his personality can be very annoying.
He's really fun and helpful
If you didn't have Gen Biology before this class, he really doesn't want you to succeed. This prof moves very fast. Test scores are slow and you don't get to see what you missed just the score. In 8 weeks, there was one very tricky bonus question. No talking was allowed during tests, yet he helped a favorite student during a test. Pass on this guy.
IF YOU HAVE ANY CARE ABOUT YOUR GPA, RUNAWAY FROM THIS MAN AND NEVER LOOK BACK. I believe that he has an Ego complex..See all his siblings are engineers and he's the only 1 lagging behind. He's smart, but in order to remind himself of this he makes his tests extra difficult for his students. HIS LECTURES ARE FABULOUS, but the tests are disastrous.
Stay AWAY from this guy. He teaches because he could not get into medical school.
If u did not take gen. biology he will fail you because he doesn't like that. His test are very very manipulative. He is very in depth and over the top. Long lectures. Grades on curve, quizzes help ur grade but still not enough. Would not recommenced unless full 16 week course and u still may not pass. Like hoe he teaches though.
Okay. This professor is not easy. AT ALL. I managed to get an A in his class because i studied EVERY DAY. Yes, his lectures are alright, and his tests are EXTREME. Caution for the weary: DO NOT, AND I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PUT FORTH THE EFFORT TO PASS...BECAUSE YOU WILL FAIL. Class started with 28, ended with 13..
His tests are killers but his lectures are very very detailed. I would require youto read the first two chapters before class and you need to be awake and take really percise notes. Take two types: his class nots and personal notes. For the tests you need to think critically. They are not definition kind of tests. Great teacher though!
Learned a lot. Provides opportunity to review exams and gives us time to take quizzes at our pace.
Very helpful. Organized. Liked the gradesheet - it lets me know my grade - never in the dark. Like the stories he gives.
Great instructor.
Yes, you need to be ready for class. His tests come from the notes, pictures, and pages he has asked to read. I made an A and I still use his notes at work.
Yea, I got a C. I took him for Bio 2401 and made an A. He said that 2402 would be 3 times more info - he was right. Take him for 2402 - he knows his stuff.
I took him for Bio 2401. I will take him for Bio 2402 - he has video lectures for second pass review - great videos and resources.
Liked the video lectures for review. Great Prof.
Great instructor. He gives a chance to correct our tests. He is quick with grades and I like to gradesheet that lets me know where I stand.
I got a B in the class. Great Prof. He provides many chances to improve your grades.
If you want an A, be sure to study your notes critically. His tests are based on the notes, pictures, and pages he says to read. When you miss a test questions, you will find the answers in your notes. So, when students say they don't know where the answers came from, that is wrong. I always found my misses in my notes.
Attendance is a must. I came to class everyday. I saw students missing classes. The subject is tough enough. In Biol 2402, misses classes can cost you. I made an A by the way. His stories are helpful.
I took him for Bio 2401 and Bio 2402. Yes, his classes are tough but you will learn. I did well on the HESI exam because of his notes. He preps you for the Nursing Exam. Like many Profs, he uses Lab Days to finish lecture stuff. He touches all chapters - he wants you to know content. He cares.
Even though I made a C, I would recommend him. He gives you chances to improve your grade. His bonus questions are interesting and helpful. Come to class. His test questions come from notes, textbook pictures, and pages he tells you to read. You can't blame him if you don't do it. I plan on taking him for Bio 2402 - he has video lectures online.
I would not take this guy. He teaches A and P II like you're are in your last semester of med school. Look for another teacher.
DOnt take him if you want to keep your GPA high. I studied hard and still got a C. The class is hard and his test are tricky, Lab exams are insane. The only good thing is that he gives extra credit. DO not recomend
I didn't do well in the beginning because I DIDN'T STUDY nor pay attn in class. Nimish is a GREAT prof, tells stories to give something to relate the subject to. Curves grades occasionally, gives 10 pts for test corrections for first 3 exams, easy bonus ?s for 10 pts, etc. The SUBJECT is hard, not the prof. STUDY!! Got a B but taking again for 2402
Great
Great Instructor.
He uses biology terms from old books which confuse you.
Do not take him, run for your life if u want to pass he is extremely hard.
he is a great professor. he teaches a very detailed and hard subject, and makes it relatable to everyday life. he is very smart and knows how to TEACH! test were not too bad, i just did not apply myself enough. i will retake him for sure. best professor i have had at hcc, or coleman at that. this subject is hard he makes it easier! id suggest him.
Hard and confusing teacher. Would not recommend to take over summer sessions!
His class is difficult. He is confusing. Probably one student out of 30 can actually get a B on the test
Okay, for AP 1 2401 here is the examassignment line up: 3 Lecture exams- about 50 questions each mc 1 Lab exam- 45 questions on mine, not mc 1 Departmental comprehensive final- mc 14 Lab assignments (Worth as much altogether as an exam but if you do them all you get a 100) Professor Shah is very thorough in his lectures.
A&P I is not easy class but he makes it easy. he explains very well and he is always ready to answer whatever questions you have. i learned a lot. if want an easy A then this is not right professor for you but if you really wants to learn and work hard A is achievable. I made an A in both A&P I and II. he is great. i recommend him.
I found he was a nice guy and tried to explain things, but the class was really difficult. He is very precise with his notes - like actually will tell you how to TAKE the notes, even saying "Draw a line" when he moves on to another section. But even after the precise note-taking, etc., I still had no idea what the hell was going on.
Hardest class I've ever taken but not impossible to get an A if you put in the effort. Don't get me wrong- I couldn't stand this class but it's true. If you want a solid education on A&P, take this class. If you want an easy A, RUN FOR THE HILLS. I never thought a class at HCC would be challenging for me. This professor is no joke.
HE IS TOUGH! But as a nursing student, I was more than prepared for the HESI! You learn a lot! Even things that I didn't think I would remember; I somehow would remember a corny story of his and it would come right back! If you want knowledge, he's the way to go, but you going to bust your but for even a B! Good luck!
Nimish isn't a good teacher. Whatever he teaches in class WILL NOT be on the test! His tests are design for you to fail. You might get 1-3 questions on the test that actually came from his notes or teachings! I was a valedictorian made straight A's throughout school and college, have NEVER made a C in my life until I took his class. Run while u can
Professor Shah is an amazing instructor. He is straightforward and gives you exactly what you need in his lectures to be successful in the class. I highly recommended him for A&P
Great professor. Gives plenty of chances for bonus points. Tells you what to read from book; no need to read full chapters. Attendance super important as most of exams come from his notes! Would greatly recommend!
He is an excellent professor very clear about what he wants you to focus on. His lectures are engaging and he uses every day example that makes everything easy to remember. He is not very easy and he makes sure you retain information and work for your grade but at the end of the day he helps as much as he can with your grades. Highly recommend.
Had the professor for a 16 week hybrid course of A&P 2. He was entertaining in class lectures. Has many stories that relate to each topic. Came for extra class time since I only met once a week with him. All in all I work my grades from a 70 on first exam to a 100 on lab exam and received an A for the course. Doesn't require you to read a lot.
Really thorough lectures, lots of extra credit opportunity. Even gave guidance for my lecture class.
You earn your grade in this course, although his grading ruberic makes it very difficult to fail. Make sure you study, or you wont pass. Make sure to do the extra credit since that makes up for doing horrible on the Department Exam. Easy A if you study.
Lots of extra credit opportunity, and if you don't study the material you'll need it. Testing covered a lot of information. No partial credit on tests. Example: If you were to list 6 functions and only 5 out of 6 were right, the whole question would be wrong. Also, the wording and formatting of the questions was confusing.
He is a great Prof, he has his own videos for you if you didn't get it in class. Review time for test is really helpful. All you need is follow his instruction and you will be easy to get good grade.
He teaches like you are in your final year of medical school. Lecture is VERY heavy so you have to read very well to understand. His test questions are deep. Think well before you answer. I wish you all the best if you are going to take his class.
Lecture is VERY heavy so you have to read very well to understand. His test questions can be tricky so think deep. Goodluck if you are going to take his class.
Mr. Shah changed my life. I honestly use to hate the guy when I was actually taking the class. BUT LET ME TELL YOU it's worth it. it's hard to appreciate when you aren't getting the grades you are use to, but I can ensure that you will learn more than enough to pursue higher education in any medical field. I am currently a RN-BSN thanks to him.
Extra cred option every class meeting. uses a million examples to help understand. likes going over pictures/videos instead of wordy slides. tells you exactly whats on tests/what to write. tests are easy if you study what he tells you (mult choice). gives you pg #s for pics in the book (useful but not mandatory) overall great, funny guy.
He only gives three 30q tests over 3-4 chapters and reviews he posts online are a waste bc half of it isn't even on the test. No hw, tests plus final grade. I got the grade I wanted by studying the PPs but even then I felt lost taking the tests. To add to the audacity of 30q test he gives trick questions!! Take him if you're fine risking your GPA.
He is an indian, that itself makes him smarter. He is no joke, his test questions are really tough. It is so hard to make a A on his tests. But he gives a lot of extra credit. He is such a genius. He is straight up to point.
good prof and teaches really well. My lecture instructor was bad and I learnt everything from the lab. He teaches really good. has bonus if you work for it. explains everything well. need to purchase bluedoor for 50 dollar
very good prof. study the review he gives and u can score a lot from it. He has bonus too. teaches really good
Dr Nimish shah is such a knowledgable person . He knows how to teach well. he draws example from real life to teach which stays in mind forever. his exams are graded in a different pattern that even if you get 2 questions wrong, still you get a 100 on the test. I am so glad that i took him after lot of bad reviews. Anatomy is hard if u dont study
he is a very good prof. all questions he says in class are potential test questions and he never tests anything that is not taught in class. study his review well and listen well when he teaches. he is there for his students always and makes sure that all are learning. he is a solid choice- no doubt. I wish i got him for lecture as well
Excellent prof and teaching skills. His exams are also easy . All lab exams are short answers and the key to score high in Nimish shah tests is to know the keywords. If you write just the key word to the question, He will give full marks. even if you strike the right answer and wrote the wrong answer, He gives credit if the striken answer is correc
Very difficult!
I wish every professor had his grading rubric. Even though I got two and seven questions wrong in my first and second test, still I got 100 in both tests. compared to Dr opera, he is the easy one. Test questions are easy and good teaching too. Gives 10 points bonus if you submit 25 questions that you make from the test content before each test.
Dr Opera- No Bonus, 4 tests total, Hard questions test . Dr Nimish- 30 points Bonus total, 3 tests , Easy questions if you study his review and blue door. Dr Nimish asks test questions only from blue door and his notes. I have seen students who took Dr opera cry outside after the tests as it is super hard. Choice is yours... Best
Hand down the best profesor ever. Just take notes of what he teach in class, you will pass with flying colors. Dont go to any other professor if you want a A.
Professor Shah is the best instructor I met in HCC so far. He taught by using the real examples and those examples were very practical. He took care every students. If you really want to learn, he is there to teach you. You can learn a lot from him.
Professer Shah really made biology understandable for me (a non-science major). He taught with real world examples and made funny side comments. He only grades off three tests and the final, but he allows for ten points extra credit on each test and that really helps!
The funny part is that he only ask things that he didn't teach in class.
Took him in the summer so it was lots of notes. He gives scenarios so we don't forget the things he said in class. When it comes to his test you have to really study, the wording is weird and if you don't know the concept you will fail the test. He gives a spreadsheet so we can know where you stand in his class at all times. Good teacher!
I am a student at UT M D Anderson for Medical Dosimetry program and I find all my classes easy because of Dr Nimish shah class I took at HCC. I got a strong foundation in his class and now Pathophysiology is so easy for me at my University. each day I thank Dr Nimish for teaching me solid Anatomy that prepared me so well for the medical field.
The test are very hard. He gives notes but the test question are so confusing that the notes do not help. He does not listen to any excuse and his lectures are very heavy. If your a non science major do not take biol from him.
great professor, its hard to find this kind of professor. Humorous and intelligent, I recommend him
Prof Shah is not a hard professor, he is in fact a very good, caring one. He gives everyone the chance to boost up their grades by giving extra points and curving grades helps a lot. As long as you study hard, then you'll be able to get an A. Focus, manage your time, attend the lab time. Like what Prof Shah always say, repetition and association!
Honestly A&P is so easy with this professor; he makes everything clear on what he expects of his students & explains course content even clearer. I was terrified of taking A&P but this prof is amazing and makes it doable. He expects things done a certain way but he is entirely fair
Very difficult class. His heavy lectures notes do not match up with the "med class" exams questiones. Would not recommend taking, only if you want to ruin your GPA.
he is not easy but he really teaches and you will be prepared for any exam dealing with anatomy many people dont like him because he takes his classes too serious but he is a great professor if you ask me as long as you go to class take notes and actuallly read them you will pass. I think it depends on your learning style
Lab based on 3 exams--3 bonus point opportunities. Curves help your grade A LOT. As long as you go to class and take notes, study what he covers from the textbook you should be fine. Lots of studying especially exam 2 but if you study ahead of time you should be fine. Tip: dont leave studying to last minute
Self study and keeping up is important in this course because of the complexity of the subject! he gives extra credit opportunity , 3 exams total , does enough to boost your grade in the class . lectures are very informative and interactive, indeed he is a very knowledgeable guy.
Not an easy class but great teacher
Took his five week course and I loved it! It's an easy A if you listen and understand the concepts. 3 tests/3 chances for bonus points/department final. Bonus points opportunity also helps you study (25 q's for each notes section). He's funny and makes lecture interesting!
He is a wonderful professor, so kind and understanding.
TAKE THIS CLASS! Professor Shah really cares about your grade. I was afraid this class would be hard but It wasn't at all. Study and you will pass with an A. Easy extra credit is given. His tests are only 30 questions and his lectures are entertaining. He tells stories during lecture that correlates to the topic. BEST ANATOMY PROFESSOR, HANDS DOWN!
Professor Shah is AWESOME! All of his lectures are clear, gives a lot of resources to use for class and also makes the material relatable to everyday life. Good sense of humor, accessible outside of class so you can't go wrong!
Great professor. He makes the materials easy to understand and recall with anecdotes he tells you that relate to the content. During the transition from in person to online due to COVID he was understanding and communicated. he tells you how to write the notes, study those and the photos he tells u to look at in the textbook to pass the exams.
I have been taking online courses for the past two years. Professor Shah has a unique way of delivering instruction that are relatable to any medical field and in a way that was understandable. He kept me engaged and I always looked forward to what we were going to learn in each chapter. Thank You, Professor Shah! You are a polish Gem!!!
Professor Nimish is an amazing professor. He has made my understanding of Anatomy & Physiology excellent to the point I am able to teach others about A&P, as well as apply it to everyday life! I graduated with a bachelors of biology, but needed A&P II for a graduate program. Professor Nimish knows how to teach and articulate for us to understand!
I'm a freshman, and this is the first professor whose lectures I actually attend, mostly because you can tell he cares about the course. His lectures are very rigorous, and the homework is brutal, but at least I know I'm learning something. He also gives very clear guidelines on exams so you are prepared.
Nimish is an awesome professor. If you want to understand the material, you should take him. If you want an A you should not. Over half the class has dropped or withdrawn and the first test average was a 69.5%. Your grade is 80% based on test and the test are very difficult. Strict lockdown browser, no cheating.
No homework or quizzes that count. Recorded lectures on youtube and 2 video conferences a week. 4 very difficult tests and one cumulative dept final. 3 clinical questions that are all or nothing grades. If you don't test well, this class will be difficult to Ace.
Too rigid on grade.
He gave extra credits by Clinical questions, which is easy to get 100%. His tests are heavy and we only have 3 tests and 1 final. Overall a fine teacher but I wish he gave out like 4 tests and drop one lowest one cause everyone has some chap that especially hard to them. Teach well. Would recommend.
This professor is great for lecture. He gives analogies to pretty much everything he teaches. This class is pretty tough as it is, but he breaks down everything and really makes you understand the material. The tests are 80% of your grade, so if you are not good at taking tests, do not take this class. Lockdown browser required as well.
Professor Shah is an amazing professor, he gave great examples and notes to help. With that being said, this class is extremely difficult, there are 3 tests each worth 30% of your total grade, all questions require you to write the answer in your own words. If you are not willing to put in a lot of time and effort, then this class is not for you.
His teaching is great, gives examples to help understand. His test are very hard.He gives homework and quizzes but does not count them as a grade. If he did my grade would have been a A+ for sure. He is a tough grader if you don't do the Clinical Writings or not answered right he will mark it INCOMPLETE which is unfair! This class did mess up my GPA.
If I could rate him a 0 I would! Do not take him if you want to pass. He is a touch grader, he will NOT work with you to help put up your grade. He will only grade test and three assignments out of all the homework and quizzes there is. STAY AWAY!!
overall he is good but he is a hard grader. In addition he does not give out chances to earn extra credit basically 90% of your grade is from your exams and 10 percent is from 3 writing assignment. but if you pay attention to his lectures will help your test.
overall, I would say he is a great professor because he makes you understand and remember the material. however, his tests were tricky and hard, even I studied and prepared very well, I was never be able to get B. take him if you want to understand well about AP2 but you need to be a good test taker, otherwise you will just pass with a C or B-
Prof. Shah is the definition of an educator. He explains concepts in such a way that students actually understand rather than just memorize. He emphasizes during lecture what will be on the tests so tests are straightforward. He cares about his students and will reach out if there's a chance for you to raise your grade. Take him if you can.
Some of my classmates introduced him to me last semester. He seemed nice and helpful at first, but after a few weeks of taking his classes, I realized he was a nasty, critical, and mean-spirited type. I would rather drive to another campus to pick up another professor than take this man. All he talks about is his family and what Nimish likes.
Professor Shah gives very good lectures. He is very informative and breaks things down to where it'll be easier to understand. HOWEVER, he will not help you bring up your grade. Even if you were a point or 2 away from passing, he will not curve your grade. His exams are very hard. I would study heavily for his exam and still be under-prepared.
Professor Shah gives very good lectures. He is very informative and breaks things down to where it'll be easier to understand. HOWEVER, he will not help you bring up your grade. Even if you were a point or 2 away from passing, he will not curve your grade. When he is not going over the ppt., he has the class touch models for the rest of the class
He is one of the better professor I have taken, very good at explaining. Tips:watch lecture videos he makes and take notes on it BEFORE attending lecture over the Unit. Use it to get an idea of what the chapter looks like and use the lecture as a review session, BONUS TIP: do not miss review days where he asks questions, make sure to record it!
I took him for AP 1 lab and AP 2 lecture, he is by far the best science professor. You will NEVER have to read the textbook in his course. Most of his stories that correlate with course material, will be on the test. As long as you attend class, listen well, & take notes you will pass. So sad he no longer teaches lab, but definitely take him.
Lecture wise good professor. goes over required slides, easy to understand. Tests are VERY hard. The class average is mid 60's. Tests are one of THE ONLY GRADES! Only other grades are 3 simple writing assignments not worth much. I wouldn't take him again. Ruined my gpa :(( Would rather have harder prof w/ more breathing room for grades than this.
Worst professor ever! He only grades a few things, and most of the grades are the exams. The assignments that are not exams are graded harshly. He is a GPA ruiner! Has no sympathy for his students. A lot of students likely failed his class based on the test averages. Do not take him, go somewhere else where there are more chances to improve grade.
Do NOT take this teacher. Please. He only grades the tests, and 3 clinical work questions which you either get a 0 or 100 on. That's IT. Average for his tests were 60's. Then average on the final was a 50.. GPA killer. Avoid like the plague. Wait another semester to find a better teacher.
He is an awful teacher. This one student had to go on anti-anxiety medication because of this guy! He should never be a teacher if he does not care or help his students! He is very mean-spirited. If HCC keeps these kind of teachers who do not know how good teachers are supposed to be, they are going to lose their good students.
This professor has a great approach to teaching but his test are nothing like the lectures. He does brief reviews for the test but the test often asks questions that were never taught in class. His clinical writing assignment is an awful concept for an assignment. Overall he is the best on the campus but there are things to watch out for.
3 exams, 3 very easy clinical writing assignments that "curve" the exams, and a comprehensive final exam. Very clear, concise lectures. Easy to understand and learn. If you study hard/take notes you will do fine on the exams. Final is rigorous. Easily one of the best professors I've had at HCC. Taking him again next semester.
This is the GPA Killer. Don't take this professor, run from him. His lectures are pretty helpful, but his reviews for the exams have nothing to do with what is on the actual exam. Run away from this Professor.
Good Professor just his grading criteria is horrible. 80% of your grade is test with no curves or bonus point, which wouldn't be bad it's just the averages for his exams were all 60's. don't take him if you care about your gpa.
He teaches the same way he teaches A&P1. He is a great professor with amazing lectures, however the only grades he takes are from the 3 exams and the final. So if you don't do well on any one of the exams, it will be extremely hard/borderline impossible to bring your grade up.
There r 3 exams & 1 final. DO NOT miss an exam. Final will replace but is the hardest as there were questions over material never covered and no review. He did not prepare us.. He has videos on YouTube that r mandatory & 2-3 hrs in length but much longer when taking notes. Exams answers r designed to trick you not ur aptitude. Make it make sense.
I took him for both AP 2302 and 2301 for 5 week course in July. I will not lie; his lectures and lab exams are super tough!! However, his lectures and the lecture videos he created are awesome, he explains things that are easy to understand. The exams will focus on what was said in the lecture so you have to give yourself enough time to study.
Honestly this man is the BEST professor you can find. He went through slides with the class and tells you what to know and doesnt just read the slides word for word. He gives great stories/examples to anchor the info. Im sad he doesnt teach lab as well. The class was tough BUT if you really want to learn A&P theres no one better to learn from!
Professor Nimish has been the most organized online professor! He does very well at explaining subjects and helping student remember concepts. I recommend him if you want to LEARN!He will tell you everything you need to learn for his exams! If you want to get a feel of his class structure you can find online youtube videos of his teachings.
Professor Shah's class is a challenge, but engaging with his teaching system pays off. Textbook and attendance are key. I found unstuck ai really helpful for exam prep, alongside the class resources. Overall, it's a tough but rewarding course if you're willing to put in the work.
While Mr. Shah has great lectures that is just about the only good thing I can say about his class. He gives unclear assignment instructions and will give you a 0 if you get any part of those "instructions" incorrectly. He will count you absent if you show up after 15 minutes of class. He does not have many assignments so they're all worth more.
He's extremely organized. 3 Exams worth 60%, 3 clinical questions, all due on test days, worth 10% each & one final worth 10% as well. Make sure to follow instructions. He is organized but for this reason, he does not accept mistakes. He's funny and makes lectures interesting. I enjoyed his class but you HAVE to work to get the grade. TAKE NOTES
Professor Nimish gives good lectures, but nothing from his test review will be on the test. u will spend hours studying just for the stuff you memorized to not be on the test at all. only 3 tests, and 3 clinical questions so u do not have enough grades to make up for a bad test grade. He says the CQ is the "extra credit". doesn't care if u fail
great lectures, funny professor but this was a GPA killer. what he teaches is very different from what you'll see on exams. no review for the departmental. he does not give any assignments
His lectures were interesting and informative, he does teach important material relevant to A&P 2301, HOWEVER his tests did not reflect what was learned in class. He proposed to give us extra credit in exchange for half the class completing the survey. It didn't matter that some us consistently participated and complete it, he straight up denied it
AMAZING TEACHER!! I will be taking him for AP2, pls take my advice whatever he teaches in class WILL BE ON THE TEST. AP isnt easy,he comes up with amazing stories that goes w what he teaches. Watch his lecture video, take notes, and LISTEN in class! sucks that we only get 3 exams but that should push you to want to do extremely well
I took Professor Shah for both A&P I and II. He is fantastic at giving lectures, constantly offering story examples and using humor to make the content stick. The only drawback to his class is how few assignments there are. Exams are weighted heavily, but if you know concepts well and do not just memorize facts, I guarantee you will make an A or B.
Professor Nimish teaches very well. I highly recommend him if you study. You won't get an A If you don't study. Exams are all in his lecture. Has 3 exams worth 60%, 3 homework worth 10%, and one final worth 10%. He also has amazing lecture videos. Highly recommend him!
He is an amazing professor! Very knowledgeable and hilarious. He posts all of the materials you need on the very first day of the class. But we only had 3 exams throughout the semester and every one of them is extremely important because it counts into the overall grade. Messing up one of them would hurt your grade A LOT.
